Fantastic place all around! Big selection on herbs that I can't find anywhere else and very knowledgeable about their usage. Book selection is great and what they don't have, they don't mind ordering. The reiki is truly something you have to experience for yourself to see how relaxing and helpful it is, highly recommend trying it. Definitely a great place to visit if you're passing through Birmingham

What can I say about BB&C that hasn't already been said? It's been reviewed almost a thousand times, but you should read my review anyway. This is basically my home away from home -- my favorite place to visit in all of Birmingham. Everyone is welcome here, whether Christian or pagan, and the atmosphere is peaceful, relaxing. Good energy and vibes permeate every corner of the place. I came here before I even called myself a witch, and I've always been in awe. I've collected about half of their jewelry stock, bought what's probably been a hundred candles, and brought home countless bags of herbs, which now stuff my much-abused kitchen cabinet for lack of anywhere else to put them. You will also occasionally find me buying incense from their impressive collection, and the occasional cauldron, wax sealing kit, or book here and there. Among the tarot readers, I especially recommend both Kelli and Tracy, who were both compassionate toward me in my time of deep depression and are fantastic conversationalists when they aren't telling me things about myself that are eerily on point. Freeman, their house astrologer, is very knowledgeable and can give you an entertaining hour of learning. The owner, Mitchell, is both charismatic and enigmatic, and a highly skilled practitioner who will talk to you about anything witchcraft. The staff is witty and friendly, and tons of fun to bounce off of while you shop. Oh, and the coffee is pretty great, too! If you're looking for fellow witches in Birmingham, this is basically the hub where you can find them. Everyone is willing to share experiences, give advice, and (in my experience) congratulate you when your prosperity spell proves fruitful. The porch is perfect for deep conversation as you take in the city skyline, and sometimes it's the starting point for house rituals, such as the Samhain one I attended. I honestly can't recommend this place enough. Whoever you are, give it a try, and you'll have an interesting story to take home with you.

Has been told about the Krampus photo op, so went. Such a neat store. Look forward to going back. Staff was super nice. And having a family Krampus photo was fun. Only draw back is parking and trying to get back on main road is little dicey. But highly recommend the store.

**Oct. 16th 2022** Still amazing place. Got some needed supplies and had a nice cup of tea with a friend. They had a pumpkin so that people can sign the names of passed loved ones. 💜 Lovely place. Very hard to find stores like this in Alabama. The employees are always nice and there is a comfortable atmosphere. Looks like they upgraded the drink lobby, new counter looks nice !

The atmosphere of the shop was so calm and inviting. The idea of asking patrons to keep their phones on silent and children with them to ensure the vibe stayed comfortable. The staff was so very helpful and knowledgeable. We honestly could have spent hours walking around and having conversations with everyone in the building. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and the selection is excellent. Most importantly, the shop is the center of a community of wonderful, caring people.

the place and concept is cool, however the workers were not. very inattentive, and did not try to help us. they did not mention more about their business or we wouldn’t have even known that there is an upstairs too. we drove about an hour to get an aura photograph done and all they had told me over the phone was “ the owner is here on weekdays from 9-5 “. we drove there, mind it is a weekday around 10-11 AM, and then they told me that they cannot do it and they didn’t know when the owner would be back. I felt pretty disappointed about this but hey if you have your own knowledge about crystals and herbs then i suggest it. the vibes felt very off-putting.

The BEST atmosphere and drinks. The patio is lovely on a sunny or rainy day. They upstairs area has nice leather couches to lounge while you enjoy your drink. This is the perfect place to do work in peace. No better place in Birmingham.

The content of the shop and the friendliness of the staff are 5-star quality, but the shop is not accessibility-friendly for anyone with a mobility disorder. From parking to the lack of a ramp to the entrance to zero access to the second floor if you cannot do stairs. I understand it's a historical building but there are still things that can be done. Just makes me sad because I really would love to come here more often, but it takes of lot of extra spoons just to get in and move around.

I really love this place because it’s the only shop near me that has a little bit of everything: herbs, crystals, incense, divination tools, statues, etc. Plus it’s in an old, Victorian-esque house, so it’s really pretty. The female staff is kind, knowledgeable, and helpful, but sadly, not so much the male employees. They and the owner aren’t very friendly and are really condescending. If they think you don’t know enough about something, they’ll “quiz” you on it and try to explain why you’re not knowledgeable enough to buy the product.

I love the smell of incense and herbs and the smell hits you as soon as you walk in. The cashier was very sweet! I was worried the prices would be very high as being a business so close to Birmingham but they were not bad at all. I forgot to get some herbs but will get some and plan on trying on of their many drinks on my next visit. Love this place! (Side note: There is parking on the side and seating on the porch area.)

Cool store, everyone was nice. I went looking for books, I’m more into esoteric religious writers (Hall, Pike, Blavatsky), their book selection is more for people into pagen, witches, and that sort of theme. I still saw a few Mage books that are worth looking into. I was only there for 20mins maybe, so if they had coffee I missed it. The rest of the stuff is MOSTLY incense, stones, and candles. It’s a cool atmosphere, and you won’t find stores like this in Birmingham. So they have my respect. I’m a Christian, but I understand this sort of information will all disappear if people stop sharing.

Pretty cool place. I've wanted to come here for many years. I think when I first saw pictures that may have had more items for sale so I think I just had it in my mind that I expected there to be more product to purchase. It had a very good feeling about the place and the house was beautiful. I wanted to buy something but the cashier had to keep getting up to make coffee, I had to leave so I chose to put back what I was going to buy and left. I may come back another time when I'm able to.

This place has always had such a great vibe and atmosphere. My mom loves it and always stops by when going in the city/near the Vulcan. (Usually she buys some incense and/or candles, but will buy some other items for spells sometimes too.) I get a wave of nostalgia being there. Also last time we came, I got myself a milkshake, gotta say, absolutely loved it. The beverages y'all make are so good.

This shop is fantastic! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful plus the owner if there frequently for more in depth questions. They have a HUGE assortment of herbs, tons of crystals in different styles, sizes and price points BUT follow their IG page to know when they restock cause they sell out fast! They also carry all sorts of jewelry, incense, candles, books, statues and lots more; I mean the list really does go on and on. Did I mention they sell tea and coffee too? I really can not say enough about how amazing this shop is; honestly it is my absolute favorite place to go, whether I'm shopping for something or just looking around or only wanting to soak up the atmosphere and have a cup of coffee or calming tea. Just go and check it out, its absolutely worth it.

Service is definitely snappy. The menu is a little hard to read, too many flavors and addons cause the menu to look a little crowded. Tried to get a picture of it, but they wouldn't let me. Three coffee orders took around 20 minutes to get done. Tried the Creme Brulee and Espresso Patronum and they tasted the same but fairly good. Overall, a little mediocre but a cute little shop. Really geared towards a specific crowd though and just a coffee shop to everyone else.

Cute and quaint little shop with a sweet lil coffee nook. Lots of cool knick knacks, incense, gems, tarot cards, terrific smelling sage bundles etc. A tad pricey for what I'm used to, but then I'm from California so I tend to pay less for the same types of items. Overall the shop was really charming and the people who run it were were kind and helpful. The next time I'm in the Birmingham area I'll stop by again as I loved the elaborate altar setups and was more than happy to bless them with a little cash, which will bless me in turn.

Plays host to a variety of common and exotic herbs (dried or powdered) for kitchen or metaphysical needs. Inventory is collected in organized rooms throughout the 1st floor of this renovated vintage house while services and meeting rooms are available on the second floor (inquire with staff for details.) Tarot reading services are available on site for the curious, as well as a variety of Tarot decks for purchase. Crystals, stones, minerals, and other supplies are available for sale along with the books for further reading. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable and can provide assistance with just about any inquiry or provide direction and information for further research.

I loved this place. I don't know how many times I've driven past it without giving it a second thought, but a friend wanted to get out of the house and go someplace cool so we hopped in the car and drove over on a whim. The coffee was good, the service was friendly and knowledgeable and the selection is on par with the little occult shop I used to frequent in Seattle, though it's much more spread out because that shop was about the size of the front room of this one. 6/5, will definitely be back for my incense and stone needs.

I have felt very welcomed every time I have visited this shop. The owner is very nice and thoughtful, he will take your order and let you do your own thing which I appreciate. It’s so hard to find good customer service these days, but all of his staff is lovely and inviting. The metaphysical shop is also a very cool part of the building which is an absolutely gorgeous and wonderfully preserved historic home! The tea is delicious and reasonably priced. I would recommend coming here to anyone and trying their chai tea!

Such a great little bizarre and wonderful shop. It's in a creaky and mystic old multi-level house that very much enhances the aesthetic. Everyone was very nice and helpful and they helped us find what we were looking for (incense devices and cool pagan stickers). They also have great milkshakes.

I absolutely love this place! Moldavite is my best friend and I refuse to buy it or any other crystals anywhere else now. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the energy is amazing. When I was first getting into crystals and all, I went there and ever since then, I won’t go anywhere else when before I was the one to go in every metaphysical store i could find. I highly recommend going, especially if you’re looking for moldavite or other crystals.

Absolutely adored visiting this store. I went a bit late in the day, and was a bit late to closing, so I couldn't take in as much as I truly wanted to, but the staff was kind and caring, and the Tarot reading I received from Skagi was phenomenal and helped me through some very difficult issues I've been chewing on. I'll be returning tomorrow to take in more of the sights and atmosphere, but coming here truly felt like coming home. Thank you for the delightful experience and for giving me my first step into faith. <3

Amazing place. I've been to many pagan/New Age/witch/metaphysical shops over the years and this is by far the best I've encountered. Clean, organized, reasonably priced. Staff were very knowledgable and accommodating and the herb selection was large and diverse. They also had a treasure trove of old and out-of-print used books for sale. Seriously the best coffee in town. I recommend the toberlone, but honestly I've tried almost everything and it's always delicious! For the record, I passed this place for 8 years and always wanted to try it out. Went in with my best friend a few months ago and can't stop thinking about the place. So if you've passed it and have always wanted to to try it, stop and go in! Such an awesome shop/coffee shop and everyone is so incredibly friendly.

This store has an awesome back in time vibe and awesome supplies. All the staff is kind besides the cashier. She was tiny, very slender and had longer light brown hair. Her general demeanor was cold, rude and she even accused me of stealing. And informed me that if I do steal the house would attack me and karma would be inflicted on me. She hesitantly made me a very delicious coffee. Which she made clear that she didn’t want to make. When I asked if they offered readers services there she blurted our NO. I asked what hours she blurted NO. So I kindly let her know that do not want one now but I am asking about their services. She calmed down and let me know who they offered. I paid for all my items and my coffee and left without feeling joy. I will return again but I don’t think it will be for a while because I don’t want to feel like that again.

Great little metaphysical shop of delights and they serve some awesome coffee! Very relaxed atmosphere inside where you may find the eccentric students studying. The shop offers Crystal's, tarot cards & readings, incense, even magic wands! I stumbled upon this jewel when I was visiting a friend at UAB. It was a breath of fresh air in the otherwise stuffy conservative Alabama.

We were very impressed! They had a lot of variety & everything was clearly labeled. We went during a tarot reading which we enjoyed. We, personally, did not get ours done but we were around other guests who had theirs done, they were very impressed as well. I would definitely recommend going for crystals, candles, information, etc. The only downfall was parking, I am still not sure where to park.

Never been to a pagan place before. But I heard the coffee was good and I’m down for a good coffee shop. It’s a pleasant atmosphere, the coffee and milkshakes were fantastic! The incense was very relaxing and a smooth jazz music overlay gave it a cozy feel!

This is a wonderful store. It's a great atmosphere, the house that makes up the store has a lot of character, and both the guests and staff are friendly and great conversationalists. The milkshakes are delicious, as are the teas.

They seem to offer a variety of services: tarot card readings, cleansings, classes, ... Because Birmingham already has The Golden Temple for generic mass-market junk, I would love to see this place enrich their inventory with more authentic, one-of-a-kind, antique, rare, and.... exciting items, books, ingredients, wearables, and other occult-related curations.

Such a warm, inviting shop. I have read reviews that use the words "occult" and "demonic" and that saddens me. I feel sorry for those too narrow minded to appreciate things outside their little bubbles. I am neither Wiccan nor "devil worshipper" but I always love visiting and getting a cup of tea, a few more stones for my collection and new herbs to sample in my sachets. Christianity is the gateway to my spirituality and I have NEVER felt threatened by anything or anyone in this delightful haven of peace and tranquility.

I really liked this place the first couple times we went to Birmingham but the last time my husband purchased a few things and was over-charged by around $30 and wasn't paying attention so we didn't realize it until we were back in Florida. My husband left several messages on their answering machine for someone to call him back about it. When no one called him back he sent an e-mail, maybe 2 and never got any response at all. So if you do shop here pay attention to your total before you pay, especially if from out of town. *UPDATE* After posting my original review, the owner explained that due to a tech problem, he never received our messages. Even after months had gone by, we returned to Birmingham and stopped in. Mitch went to great lengths to locate the original sale in his system and made it right! Thank You!

If he happens not to know, it's guaranteed that he knows someone that can help and will either find out for you or put you in touch with them. You will never step inside without someone greeting you, and if they don't remember having seen you before, are quick to give you the shoppe tour to help acquaint you with what it has to offer.
