Reviews of ScreenDoor
I absolutely loved this place! It’s curated to a degree that I’ve never seen at other vintage places. The prices are completely affordable and fair for each item. I’ve never seen that before either! I spent more money because I got more items. Things that I truly wanted and they were so unique. I also adored the fact that they had crystals available here. Nice touch! I will be back!
Typically find something good at Screen Door. This place keeps their vendors in good order - all areas are tidy and easily shoppable (no "flea market" booths), and inventory is mostly vintage, some contemporary. Dealers do tend to keep things a little on the pricier side here, as compared to most other shops in the area. No layaway options offered at this mall. 2 week hold for pick-up (after purchase).
Nice place! Mixed variety, never know what you’ll find in Asheville. Prices are not negotiable, which is alright, but I’ve rarely seen an item in an antique store and just paid the price. The price is usually just a little above the comfort zone. But whatever lol
I always enjoy shopping the vintage items but I wish the cashiers were friendlier. Like most days, today I didn't get a "thank you" when I checked out. Definitely not a "have a nice day." The cashier simply took my money then turned to talk her colleague.
Give me your money. You are dismissed.
The ScreenDoor is at the top of my list of places to visit every time I'm in Asheville. Love the mix of new & old & shabby & shiny. Always thinking I'll find great gifts (which I do), but always leave with cool stuff for myself, too!
This is a shoppers' paradise. A huge (about an acre?) variety of odds & ends organized into sections - something for everyone. I've bought a bookcase, a lamp, a lambskin jacket, houseplants and numerous books. My out-of-town visitors love the experience.
I went to look for something funky for my flower bed and ended up with a variety of things (plant holder, side table for the porch, and some measurements of possible yard art).
Staff was helpful, wearing masks, and it was already busy at the 10:00am opening on a Tuesday morning. I've been coming for years, and they are consistently exciting and inspiring. I would a thousand times rather find something unique and recycled than support something generic like amazon.
I hadn't heard of this place until recently when a friend of mine suggested it. I'm so bummed that I haven't had it on my thrift list all of this time! They have a plethora gorgeous pieces! vintage furniture, newly built tables and eclectic seating, cool lamps, fun knick knacks, beautiful woven baskets from other countries, to locally handmade. Prices range from the expected thrift costs to a higher range for the newly made pieces. It's a very easy store to get lost in looking at things. I wanted to buy so many items. For now I left with a gorgeous mid-century modern coffee table. 60 dollars! Totally worth it. I will be telling more people about this spot and popping in frequently to see what's new!
I love coming for the great selection by the incredible vendors. The people who work here, however, are the some of the rudest, most unfriendly people I have ever encountered. It’s been this way for years.
I like this store, but there is a lot of new stuff mixed in with the vintage items, and some of it is priced pretty high. Nice open space with good light though, and I've found a few great items here. It just takes some patience.
I love this booth organized shop. The place has a really diverse offering of antiques, fine and funky furnishings as well as all sorts of random in between. Be careful though, you might walk out with more than you came for!
Cool place, lots to look at, prices not bad, could find some bargain stuff.
Funky finds from dozens of vendors. Antiques, furniture, upcycled goods, homewares, clothing, and even indoor plants! Wonderful place to lose yourself for a couple of hours. The store is well organized and offers shoppers a restroom if needed. A must visit destination for statement pieces and unique gifts. Don’t forget to check out the great selection of books in the back corner!
Great place with actual antiques instead of new flea market items that nobody wants.
Very unique and eclectic assortment of things for sale. Walking around was fun and getting to see the different booths with a variety of things can keep you busy for hours. The items are a little more pricey and seem to be more one of a kind things that could be harder to find elsewhere.
What a great place to shop. There's a museum of displays and antiques up there.
A fun collection of eclectic food-dads. Not your average antique store.
A hodgepodge of second hand thrift finds organized as small storefronts. It's easier to shop if u have specific ideas in mind, like "a bedside table" or "a tall lamp" etc. Otherwise, u cd spend hours just browsing. I found a small bear cub outdoor sculpture. Everything is presented all mixed, not in categories. Sometimes browsing is all the activity u need...then lunch out in the B'Village.
The prices here are very high. Expect to pay close to true retail worth for antiques & vintage items. Also Expect to pay higher than true worth for some things. They need to bring prices to a reasonable rate that matches a painful economy. Aside from that most items here are nice...
So so much to see very interesting mix of all sorts of things you're sure to find something you can't live without
Beautiful place. Some items are pricey but it is enjoyable to walk around. it's a very clean and organized place. it isn't the typical antique store.
Great place for antiques and novel items
Ok but expensive to be vintage. Go if you have biltmore forest type money
I love this store. It's a blend of antiques & high end quality handcrafted items. There's something for everyone in every price range. You might need a 2nd mortgage on your house, it's that good 😆. We bought so much stuff but couldn't buy everything we liked bc of limited space in the suv. The employees were nice enough but not "warm" friendly.
4 out of 5 because while this place has some great stuff, the staff kind of always sucks. On almost every visit, the person or people behind the counter seem to be in 1 of 2 possible moods, dry dusty cardboard or rude constipated elderly person. That being said, of course I'll keep going! The high priced inventory is worth it (mostly) and at this point it's just funny to see what unfriendly mood the staff is in. If you're in the area, definitely stop in and see the great building and dull staff!
A extremely warm day. Store had no AC or I would have spent more time there. Looks interesting and is high. Will try again on a cooler day.
We love popping into this store to browse every now and then..
This time, my partner enjoyed taking photos of interesting items while I smiled at the displays of unique goods.
We feel refreshed and fulfilled after walking through ScreenDoor.
I know several others have commented on how rude and aloof the staff can be. But yesterday I stopped by, bought a few fun things and had a delightful exchange with the young lady behind the counter. She said she hoped I would come back soon. I will!
I would love to give this more stars. If it was based on what products they sell I'd give it 5 stars, many are unique and beautiful. Based on my overall experience that brings it down to a 3. They don't degotiate prices with the sellers and that feels like an important element because I like to get the best deal and feel like many things are overpriced. Also, some of the staff could use a little more kindness when dealing with the clientele. The later part makes me question wanting to go back.
Love love love this place! Bought a beautiful Asian Tea set and I love it so much! Would recommend for anyone who loves unique old things, especially art and furniture!
A little pricey, but their booths are very well curated. Great for inspiration.
Such a wide variety of antiques and all kinds of unique and one of a kind items. Love this place!
OMG. We are consignment store junkies having visited them all around Asheville. This is our favorite. They have such a variety and it is curated so that browsing is a treat. So many stores with this much stock tend to pile it up on every horizontal surface they can create. ScreenDoor creates rooms that are thoughtfully displayed.
Always a favorite stop when we visit Ashville.
Love this place! A lot of creatively repurposed items and antiques and some not so old items. Fun place to explore
So much to see, so many artistic ideas.
I love to come here when I'm visiting Asheville! They have an incredible selection. I always find something. Great prices too
Very nice, clean and quite a variety of stuff. The only reason I didn't give the 5 stars is because the bathroom really wasn't handicap accessible. But other than the the aisles were wide and clear.
For the most unusual items, they never disappoint!
Love this place, it's like walking into a place you dreamt about as a kid. Around every corner is one person's junk and another's treasure. If you need something unique, this is the place to go. And if this isn't reason enough, go for the friendly masked staff smiles. Great place--go!
My husband and I went here for the first time this past weekend and absolutely loved it!! It’s open, well lit, clean and very organized compared to most antique malls. The prices are very fair. We certainly didn’t leave empty handed. We found an old German typewriter from 1926 and globe from 1940. Not to mention the beautiful glass Japanese floating balls and some whiskey bottles. This is a must see place!! We highly recommend!!!
Wow, this is an amazing place with alot of cool stuff. Prices vary. Lots of furniture and household goods and decor. Outdoor goods too. This will be a regular stop for us. Recommend highly!
Lots of antiques and great old stuff. Don't miss stopping by.
Great antique place to shop!
Borders on being the most expensive Goodwill you've ever seen, and some genuinely well crafted and cool stuff. Some things were overpriced, but occasionally you'll find something really special. Good place to take your partner on a day off and browse.
I'm from out of town and this place was on my list of places to stop. Well worth it!! Bought a handful of stuff for great prices. Beautiful aesthetic all over the store in every booth. Booth owners and staff are super friendly! If you love unique items, beautiful antiques, and amazing art this is your place to go!
The screen door is one of Asheville's eclectic shops. Treasures abound in the plethora of booths inside, some booths have true antiques, some house vintage pieces, some have old interesting things, some display modern items, there are also lovely crafts and of course you will find some true junk. This unique mixture makes for an interesting shop. Even the walk into the shop from the parking lot is lined with large tempting goodies. It is definitely worth thirty minutes of your time to visit. Who knows, it could be your lucky day!
Very well laid out, bright and clean. Reasonable prices and easy to navigate.
Was disappointed in the help, we purchased a rather heavy garden object and had no assistance in transferring it into our vehicle.
The comment was made that my husband looked like he was able to do it himself.
Great, stuff but the operators,of the market will absolutely not negotiate. To those of you who sell there. I have bought before but wanted to offer on a couple of items ihad looked at for months only to be told flatly NO. What could've been a sale is more than likely still on the wall.
Visiting on vacation and my girlfriend suggested we go here. I loved it! Many different booths of all sorts of different types of antiques and crafts for sale. The bookstore was great too. Mostly non-fiction and slightly used/new too.
One word. GO !!! Plan on spending hours looking at a sprawling space full of a wide variety of items, from tools to furniture, jewelry to yard sculptures. And lots more.
When visiting the area, I always leave room in my suitcase & manage to fill it.
I'd be in big trouble if I lived closer !!!
I look around my home and marvel at the treasures I've brought back.
Nice and decent amount of fans to cut the heat. Everything was priced max. Might be worth going for the large selection of oversized design and decor books.
I could have spent a couple hours here but they close at 5. Oh well their loss. I might have spent more as I saw other things that I wanted to think about more before I left.
Lots to choose from 🙂 We were looking for a coffee table and found that plus a dresser and bed side table in "Barb's booth". Thanks Barb! We also found a vintage (50's) pitcher and glass set. Fun browsing with helpful, friendly staff. …
Over priced but nice stuff
Great place to find hidden gems.
Nice place, big, lots of booths. A bit too much reproduction stuff for my taste but still worth a look. Really cool outdoor furniture and statuary out front, as well as a great bookstore area.
A large, multi-vendor emporium that contains antiques, vintage items, and a smattering of garden statues & plants. Items are generally overpriced in my opinion and not subject to negotiation. It's a lot of fun to walk through all the different booths for ideas and inspiration. Huge parking lot
An amazing assortment of antiques, vintage, and new furniture and home decor. The prices seemed very reasonable and the store is dog friendly!
Great craft items and lots of good stuff
Huge place, with tons of little booth spaces. There's so much to see here, I spent over an hour here and still didn't see all there was to see. I'll definitely have to come back for another run through, and to check out the attached book store!
One of my favorite antique stores in the area! They have a variety of quality stuff, you can find great deals, it’s a good space, and the booths are set up and styled well. I visit here pretty regularly.
Wonderful discovery in Ashville! Many dealers of vintage material, garden decor and plants, furniture, ceramics and so much more. you could spend an entire day there and not see it all. Well done layout and just a collector's dream!
Trendier and far better climate controlled than a giant neighboring competitor, yet my fiancee and I managed to find an antique window to be used for our wedding guestbook for considerably less than we had at the aforementioned superstore. Granted, antiquing involves a luck of the draw, but we had a phenomenal experience...
This is THE best place to go for unique and eclectic finds in all of Asheville. From modern to industrial to primitive, there is something for everyone here. The book store has the best selection at affordable prices. I make sure all of my friends and family visit ScreenDoor when they're in town. The staff is both friendly and knowledgeable. I'll always keep coming back to ScreenDoor!!
This place has a huge selection of decor for home and garden. I buy a lot of Christmas and birthday gifts here. The booth displays offer helpful decor ideas. Tough place to bring small children.
Good selection of actual antiques with a lot of vintage items as well with some reproductions mixed in . Prices are high but they do have quality stock.
Lots of variety and very high quality merchandise. Take your time and explore.
A fun place for a mixture of original art, collections and somewhat antiques. Take it as I say it is a mixture. I like to visit every few months to see what is new or changed. There is some yard art as well. Lots of parking.
Wide open and nice selections.
So cool. Prices were more reasonable too.
Beautiful store, we just like a junkier antique store where you can dig and search for your diamonds in the rough. But if you are looking for something specific cleaned up and ready to put in your house, this is the place.
Every piece in this building is unique. The Curators do an awesome job with the decor. Prices are reasonable. Wheather your buying or not, a good place to stop.
Loved all the vintage items here ! Great shop to find on recent weekend trip to Asheville ! I found a lovely book of tulip photos which will soon become art for my livingroom #
We visit Screen Door every time we are in the Asheville area. There is always new and interesting additions. There are antiques, collectables and other decorator item. I especially enjoy the metal sculpture. There are items for indoors, as well as out.
Don't miss the bookstore. I really like the selection of architectural, foodie and Southern interests selections. You maybe disappointed if you're looking for fiction.
A cross between a theme park, a museum, and a mall. A crazy huge warehouse full of a very eclectic mix of antiques, along with a coffee shop and a book store. A nice place to spend some time just wandering and exploring.
This place is absolutely a must visit every single time I go to Asheville. I make it a point to visit and I purchase something every time I go. To the other people complaining about the desk attendent's lack of willingness to negotiate.. that is just dumb. I have nothing negative to say about this place. If you want fun, unique, original furniture at very reasonable prices then this is it.
We found a great mid century chair that the wife needed ;-). Why 3 stars? Dealt with 3 employees and all 3 had a very unwelcoming (2 worse than the 3rd) attitude. So absent of any customer service and feeling as though we were only annoying them that I did not want to spend any $$ and support the store. But the wife wanted the chair. She too was not pleased nor impressed with the vibe projected by them. Wonder how the vendors feel?? Personally I will not be returning BUT they have some great stuff. Again I'll look elsewhere thank you.
I can (and have) spent hours in this place, always new stuff around the corner and their bookstore has a really awesome selection of cookbooks and gardening books! Prices are fair, there are places with lower, but they aren't high
Went antiquing this past weekend and found ScreenDoor for the first time! Will definitely be a "go to" place from now on. We really liked it, such a variety and beautiful clean and decorated booths!
A wonderfully eclectic and diverse set of curated stalls makes for plesant shopping with a surprise around every corner. More organized and less bulky than the tobacco barn.
Set aside a couple of hours if you can! So much to see & an eclectic mix of items. Lots of mid-century & hand-crafted items. Owner is very approachable & engaging.
I always enjoy shopping at the Screen Door. The business has changed some over the past twenty years-it’s more of a “decorators” store than an antiques or thrift store now. A few booths still have genuine antiques, but there aren’t as many of these booths as before.
A good sized antigue store, made up of rented booths. For those of us that can take only so much shopping, there is a nice book store attached. My wife loves this place.
Huge place! Amazing selection! Prices on the higher side for used furnishings, but everything is in great condition. Highly recommend this gem
Great place to take friends and family when they come into town. Lots of unique stuff.
Nice place to check out unique items I like the stamped metal birds on frames as well as other items in this place very creative artwork. Would recommend checking out if in this area as things are constantly changing inside.
Had to come back twice it was so nice!
Large store, great variety and staff are following COVID safety regulations - which made me feel even better as a customer
If you ate junking or antiquing this is a must stop. Lots of vendors. Interesting old items and lots of repurposed goods. A fun and productive place to explore your next treasure
Screen Door is a large, eclectic series of spaces for antique dealers and artists.
We go there every time we visit Asheville because it's fascinating. We usually find something to buy.
My go-to place for hunting antiques. Never disappoints. Super variety of items, too. Nice big parking lot. Friendly staff.
Great place for a big or small unique purchase!
Loved store. Just a bit pricey on somethings. Wish you could bargain down on prices.
We love Shopping for Antiques: in Asheville at ScreenDoor 115 Fairview Rd,
Established in 1999, ScreenDoor offers 25,000 square feet of unique home and garden accessories from more than 100 vendors. There is always an exciting selection of architectural, antique, mid-century modern, industrial and country furnishings to reflect your personal style. The ScreenDoor also includes a wonderful bookstore featuring new books on home and garden design, cooking and children's titles at 50% off publisher prices.
Nice clean variety. A little more upscaled and higher priced.
Unique and diversified. Different vendors have set up in there. I found an early 20th century evening robe there that I have been seeking for a long time at a reasonable price.
Loved it! Spent over an hour looking at everything. A friend and I both walked out with some goodies.
Fun place to shop the people that work there aren't very friendly but it's still a fun place to shop.
Great place to browse and shop for unique items.
Great antique store and the folks that work there are great also!! We'll be coming back again.
Great mall with some very talented dealers. Fun merchandise and an AMAZING bookstore that has to experienced, a cookbook lover's dream!
LOVE this place. It's like a really fancy, curated flea market. Every time I go here, I find stuff I love.
Have at least an hour to spend looking. Very eclectic, yourself something you haven't for a long time, or even something you just have to have.
They have lots of vendors. There was a good variety of items. Not everything was antiques. Many good accent pieces for the house.
What a unique place to see so many beautiful items under one roof.
A favorite antique store in Asheville. Plan on spending a couple of hours browsing through a vast array of items.
What a find! Such a fun mix of old and new and eclectic ! Staff so friendly. Will be back. Just wish music was more surrounding.
Fantastic place to find some unique home décor. However, I did find a couple items that were directly from Pier 1 being sold for twice the price
They have a variety of everything.
We found a treasure we weren't looking ,but we do find something unique every time we visit. And Frank was a great help.
Almost too much. A great place to explore for the garden art, home decor or book your pad's been missing.
Nice set up, very clean and prices were more than reasonable. I have been to many antique places that price gouge you.
A lot of wicker pieces and out door decor and furniture in general. Nice indoor furniture and rugs as well.
Meh. Same as the Regeneration Station except much more expensive and less "do it yourself." If you're looking to purchase already complete projects this is your place. But Regeneration Station is where it's at for more crafts.
Wonderful vendors. Great selection of vintage/antiques.
Really a great place to shop for unusual items. There is a bookstore as well, good selection of books , many subjects.
I get absolutely lost here. The best place to get some ecclectic shopping done and serene solitude. The staff are top notch!
Lots if unique things to find here! Great selection of decor, furniture and more for both inside and out!
Very unusual consignment store. Really wonderful stuff. Can't wait to go back
By far our favorite place to shop for antiques, or anything unique. They also have a wonderful bookstore.

Quiet! Don't tell anyone about this amazing warehouse full of antiques, art, and oddities. Oh! It's also a bookstore.
Great place to have a fun couple hours wonderful old stuff new things and some crafts.
I always love this place. Eclectic and fun. Each space is like a well curated art installation.
Very cool variety and amount of antiques, will surely find at least one thing that will call to you
What a different and unique store, great finds and the staff are very helpful and friendly.
OMG. What a great place. Great selection. Every price range. I never miss this place, and I never leave empty handed.
A great place to shop for beautiful antique pieces!
So fun. Definitely worth a visit.
Great variety, great prices. We found several items from different vendors we couldn't live without.
Great place to visit, lots of different genres of stuff
Loved it! Many items to look at. Well worth my time.
Fun place to stroll around, great vendors.
Great place to find unusual objects and furnishings for your home
Cool spot but a little pricey for used "vintage" items. Also there is rarely anyone at their both so you can't haggle
Very cool place to visit, a little pricey but if I'm in Ashville I always stop by.
From affordable antiques, art, garden sculpture and all things collectable, this place is a visual treat that you can get lost in.
Good prices and great finds! Staff was more than willing to help with any needs.
Best eclectic selection of furniture and home decor in town. Plus great cards!
Great inventory and some noted turnover. Always an adventure to stroll throughout!
Love shopping there. Some prices are good , some are not, but always interesting.
Staff not always friendly. But the have nice treasures to find. They are not negotiable on prices.
A very organized well curated shop with well priced antiques and unique local art.
Just a really fun hodgepodge of stuff. Very Asheville of Very Asheville. Stay weird!
Cool stuff, cool place. Never fails to fascinate, and will always be on our list of visitables.
Loved it here! Everything I wanted had a sold sign but really neat place!
This is one of my FAVORITE hidden gems in Asheville. There is always a treasure to be found. Eclectic and funky!
Stopped in to see a friend working in the bookstore. It was around 3pm on a Tuesday...not a lot of shoppers around.
Great creative yard art, home decor and antiques. Enjoyed our time here
Very nice stuff, but also very pricey.
Very unique items. Good prices
the best selection of antiques and collectibles presented neatly. plenty of easy parking
Nice place, clean, antiques well displayed!
So much to look at! Make sure you have lots of time to explore all the different booths.
Blue 1933 mason quart jar cracked still want full price...
Unbelievable store. We received a tip about this place! We were not disappointed.
We visit every trip to the mountains. Always tidy and new things to see.

Nice place for antique hunting
Excellent staff, amazing collection of so many things!
Nice mixture of art, craft and antique. Prices good and lots of verity.

Very nice layout well-organized but the price is pretty high.
Really nice antique warehouse. Seems to be on the nicer more well kept side of the antique realm.
I didn't allow myself the allotted time needed to complete the entire tour of this store. However what I seen I loved.Allow yourself at least two hours to see this store.
Anything you want to make your place more interesting. Always fun to visit.
Fun and eclectic salvage shop. fun to browse through and find an occasional cool thing.
Great setup and pieces! Some of the prices were a little high imo.
Fun stuff--a bit overwhelming and over-priced, but gives inspiration and ideas!
Very cool shop. Lots of really neat finds.
Very low on inventory due to covid, usually a great place to shop.
Not what it used to be but, still an interesting place worth looking through for something unique.
Pricey but great assortment of interesting vintage items.
