It was 0600 in the morning. The store was very clean and looked like all hands on deck for stocking shelves. I required an associate to unlock a glass door to acquire a very simple light bulb replacement, thought of it as a bit excessive, but perhaps they get stollen a lot. Overall employees were polite and helpful.

Normally I would give this store 5 stars, but lately they seem to be short stocked on quite a few items. And getting punched by one of their security personnel for no reason at all last night didn't help. I've reported it to APD, and I intend to have his job and have my glasses replaced.

Ease of shopping, crowded during holidays but overall I purchased what I came there for. However, when you buy extended warranty you still should be able to return items with receipt as well. It's got to be in origin packaging nonsense is frustrating. You don't purchase items with the idea it'll be returned so why would I have original packaging?

I can get in and out quickly most days. I rarely have issues with the cashiers. I know everyone is doing their best, and try to be polite and appreciative that they are there.

It was a good place to shop. The only problem was there were very little baby items, like baby bottles, baby medicine. They should be highly stocked with these items ,it's a very much needed this time of year.

Great place to buy Alaskan gifts and things to remember Alaska for cheap if your are visiting Alaska. They have a ton of gift options like Alaska specific T-shirts, hats, socks, cups and other small gift items to choose from. Being a Walmart, it is the best and possibly cheapest place for a tourist to stop and stock up snacks, get gear and also alcohol (they sell liquor inside). Ample parking space for both cars and large vans.

It’s a good Walmart, good stock of supplies, and the prices aren’t terrible compared to the lower 48, but the staff and the vibe of people make it seem similar to Hawaii. People have that wall up against tourists, so you don’t get to talk to many people.

In relation to other Walmarts I would give it a three out of five. It consistently seems a little frantic and has a sense that you never really know what’s gonna happen, but in the end it’s always fine. There are better Walmarts and worst ones.

Sparse or missing inventory. Little helpful staff. This location is not up to typical Walmart in any sense of the brand name. Countless homeless outside. Not a comfortable experience.

People visiting Alaska from the lower 48, Wal-Mart in Alaska is a net good. I recommend going there for basic commodities, especially food if it is a supercenter like this one. This one is in the middle of a really nice shopping area with an REI, various specialty shops and good restaurants. Its on the #25 bus line that connects to old downtown. All good things.

Just bought perennial flowers from Walmart and it was 50% off and I think it’s very good deal. Anything you want at Walmart has it all from household items through fresh produce the price is very reasonable, and that pizza very delicious!

Its aight. They had most of what i needed. Cabs won't pick you up here. You have to flag them down. There is a large homeless camp at parking lot edge, and the decaying ruins of an ancient Pizzahut.

Bought a bathroom shelving unit. Came with all the parts and also the parts needed to completely secure it to my wall. That's a great thing in Alaska where earthquakes can hit anytime. That may sound like a small thing but I work in customer service for a retail company that has constant returns because of missing parts. Very happy with this purchase.

This is a very cool little salon/boutique. It's in an adorable tiny house right downtown which is very clean nicely decorated and full of charm. I've been happy each time I've gotten my hair done here and I would fully recommend them.

It's walmart. I mean there kind of the same every where you go. Ok service sometimes long waits not always. Great prices you can't really beat anywhere else. You have a variety of options though when it comes to cashing checks getting a Walmart money card also using your PayPal acount there like withdrawing funds from it etc..

I use Walmarts online grocery and pick up service. Where they do the shopping for me, then I pick it up outside the store. I LOVE IT. Keeps me Covid free. And they do an excellent job! picking out fruits and veggies. Which really surprised me. My only complaint is sometimes they run out of something I wanted. but that happens in most stores,so not much to complain about at all. Give it a try. Makes a working moms/dads day SO much easier, AND grandma's too, like me.

I don't normally like going to this Walmart due to alot of homeless in the area. They hang out right in front of the store, some drunk always asking for cigarettes or money. The store itself is ok.

Nice huge store for shopping. Located on the People Movers transit route 25. $2 per ride or $5 for 24hrs day pass, most drivers are friendly but you get one or two rude & loud ones at times. They shout at you. Also at the bus stop near Walmart you often get some eff-up local nutjobs shouting and harassing people. Although they harass you at your face but don’t harm you physically, the local police should remove these nuisance wackos disturbing innocent visitors, something that could improve the Anchorage experience. These wackos belong in an institution. Besides these, there also a handful of homeless groups on supermarket trolleys … what a sore sight to a beautiful city.

One of my items did not come yesterday and I tried to call Walmart on Debar several times and every time was disconnected it was very very frustrating. Eventually someone left me a voice message from there saying that my item was not in stock and I would not be charged. But that now means a separate delivery tip to the driver.

This Walmart is pretty much the same as all other walmarts. I love the convenience of it. The fact that you can just walk in and grab whatever the hell you want and walk back out. The only thing I would say is that I hate the fact that they have to check your receipts before you walk out the door. I have a habit of throwing them away before I leave the property. I feel the company makes enough money that they shouldn't have to check receipts. And maybe do some brainstorming and finding out a better way of doing things.

Store is clean but bathrooms are messy and there were not alot of registers open for how many people were in the store so lines were long and the shelves were not stocked with very much stuff they were almost out of coffee creamer. The person checking us out was nice. The bags they give do not have handles so that makes groceries hard to cary at home.

World's best place to go for cereals. The selection can't be matched. But dang near everything else in that store is a hit or miss. Doesn't matter what time you walk through that door, everything looks like it slightly out of place. Example: nice hung up shirt, and same shirt pulled off the hanger set on top of rack.

I love this Walmart better than the other two Walmarts that I know of in Anchorage. This ones got character. I love the fact that they don't have them lockers anymore. I have been known to spend three and four hours just looking around at the merchandise. I am in tune with the store. Did you know that Walmart is starting a delivery program using drones. Our packages will drop out of the sky on a parachute.

Im handicapped. There was no parking near the doors. No electronic carts available at the door. Loiterers and homeless surround the store and openings. There was no cart so I did not grab everything i needed i was hurting before I left and only checkouts that did not take cash had no lines so I used one of those instead of paying cash. The drink I wanted was not available in the coolers. All sugar pepsi. Thier candybars was gone only gum at my check out. The ghetto hangs out in midtown. I have delivery from fred meyers for the rest of my items.

Weird the entire time I was in my life back and forth with my mom and I ain't running a lot of people stilling from me selling my information putting up in the marketplace for a good time for a great app kids are things to do in life but it was Android platform for a great partner and I will be able to get a ride to work with you I love God for sure and not having family to be a part of my life to do something with it was an amazing place for a good person that needs help 🆘 a lot more than a house but what about the other day you're here in life and you know I ain't running and then I don't have a big deal with mental health supplements for a great app and it just really don't want you back from the other day you're here and I don't have any kids you know what time you are going to advertise it

I gave a 4 for cleanliness and they basically have everything except sandals. Regardless of season, sandals should be sold. Sandals are used multipurposely. Sadly the cucumbers were not fresh. Yoy shouldn't sell what can't be eaten and it shouldn't be marked down. Just throw it away and find a better strategy for supply and demand Overall, I how clean big and organized it was. I was visiting from New York, so this made a good impression.

Very convenient to walk to Walmart from downtown 5th street & A St.. If your not a recreational outdoors person. I dont recommend you to walk in the Winter time. Other then that everything is within walking distance. Invest into a pair of yak trax if your open to walk around downtown. Great way to adventure and educate yourself in Alaskan culture. Thumbs up!

I was very impressed with my first experience of picking up my ordered items at the 3101 A Street Walmart today, I was quite unsure of how it all worked, but the young man at the kiosk named Tony was extremely helpful and courteous. He was able to retrieve my items quickly and when we discovered that I would have my hands full, getting out to my car in the parking lot, he took the extra effort to get me a cart. Kudos to Tony! I enjoy shopping at this Walmart. Customer service isn't always that great but it's better than the other Walmart here that I been to. Their shelves are always filled and organized. I love how they have produce and bakery in there as well. If only they sold local goodies or drinks(ENJOY snacks,Hawaiian Sun,Ube donuts, etc.)

I expected more of this place. Went to Anchorage usually I go to the on in Fairbanks expected it to be the same well it's not! I prefer the one in Fairbanks more, the shelves are full much cleaner and their's a floor person everywhere you don't have to go hunting one down and almost insisting on them helping you. I made an BIG $380.00 online order for pick up on Saturday Aug. 21st. When I went to go pick up my order, the staff came out to my car and explained that their card system was down and they weren’t able to complete my order, I would have to pay inside after they scanned each item.I was calm about it and ready to tackle $380.00 worth of product, BUT, Let me tell you that Jasmin and Earsel were so kind and efficient when they came over and scanned each item for me and put everything in my cart for me as well!! They did all that work in under 10 minutes!!! Sometimes I have mixed experiences with Walmart customer service, but these 2 really put the effort in and did a great job. Walmart needs to fix their online card system so there aren’t anymore issues in the future! Earsel and Jasmin you two were amazing, hope I spelled Earsel’ right too!

Its Walmart... That being said, this place is actually nice to shop at for Anchorage. Everyone says the Dimond location is better but I disagree. This place is more organized and the staff are friendlier. It doesn't seem like you have to look forever to find anyone for locked up items which is nice. The only downside is the vagrants that hang out by the grocery side entrance at the little garden square. They usually don't bother you but every once in a while you'll have one ask for money or for a cigarette.

The managers Todd and Kim are thee best managers I've ever seen. They were dealing with a sticky situation in one of the bathrooms and were going way above and beyond to help the customer, especially in the most humane and humble and less embarrassing way. Seeing those two help that poor customer put faith back into humanity, knowing that they were willing to go the extra mile instead of hurrying and getting the customer out the door. I was extremely impressed with their cool and calm demeanor the whole time. They deserve to be acknowledged for the good I'm sure they doling out over at A Street. I love how stocked and clean this Walmart is. They kiosk need to get a cash option or they need to get mo e tellers on the end with self checkout so you don't have to wait to buy 2 items for 10 minutes.

After waiting at the money center line for 30 minutes to not move forward once I walked out. Three people at the door to supervise everyone has a mask and enters where the signs clearly tell them. Not the employees fault that was clearly poor management.

What can I say, Walmart is Walmart. Availability of items is somewhat spotty, due to the pandemic and supply chain issues. They've recently rearranged the stores so it is difficult to find things sometimes, though it is generally possible to eventually find whatever you're looking for in this big box store. It's fairly crowded, but people are generally friendly and reasonably well-mannered here.

The store was clean, though limited selection for smaller sizes. Lots of good souvenirs. Really what put me off was the drug deals happening in the parking lot. Little scary.

I prefer this location over most. Parking is usually good but the speed people drive through can be a bit fast. The selection inside is very good and they are clean and organized. Doesn't look torn up like most locations. Employees are helpful and nice.

As far as Wal-Marts go, this is probably the most used due to its location in Anchorage. They tend to run out of most things here first. The electronics are definitely among the first to go. If you can use another location, I would strongly suggest the Dimond Location.

In general Walmart is a good place to shop with a wide variety and decent prices, however a recent decision made to not open the self-checkout lanes until after 7 am has me re-thinking my decision to shop there. I like the convenience of zipping in, getting breakfast or lunch stuff, self-checking out and being on my way to work. Now, I have to wait on the one open cashier lane behind several other people. Time is precious and I don't want to waste it standing in line.

Shelves were nearly empty for bottled water. They did not have any plastic bags with handles at check out lines only the brown paper sacks with no handles. We had to buy two blue cloth Wal-Mart bags with handles as we were walking about a mile back to our hotel with heavy purchases like water & apples etc.

I don't like that, the workers not greeting you, as soon as you enter n some don't smile n be courtesy n not be friendly greeters. Some just grab your receipt and scan n don't even say "thank you!" I needed those wheeler and found one and was going to use it, the male employee raised his voice and said, I couldn't use it and came to me and turned it off and said it's being charged. He didn't even try to help me with finding one. I said, I needed one and that I can't walk. He just stood there and says, they're all being used. He didn't go out of his way and I just left, discouraged and upset! Teach your employees, common courtesy and put customers first!

This store is always clean and well stocked. Best time to go is between noon and four in the afternoon, you will have the store just for you. There are always Taxis parked at the entrance ready to take you anywhere. Restroom are nice and clean. You can eat at Mc Donald's with your cart.

On Monday I had a in store Pickup at A St. Walmart. They went above and beyond the expectations. I had a stroller with me due to my daughter recently having surgery, a Walmart manager helped me with taking my Pickup items to my car. Even though I insisted I could still do it myself. A+++++ the baker/employee who took my order from the phone and the person who handed me the cake when I picked it up were both sweet, friendly and helpful, I wish I got their names. It seemed like Fort Knox with all the security around. A lot of products in the tools/autos sections are behind glass. It's kinda annoying. But when the area seem covered with crack heads and zombies I can see why. I'm glad they have strong security there. I feel like it's a safe place to shop even after dark.

Shopping at Walmart always seems like a roll of the dice to me. Often times it seems like they have everything except the one specific item that I came to the store for. Most of the time, it's not too bad. However when shopping between 4:30 and 6 and after 10:30 p.m. there tend to be long lines and long waits. Contrary to their tagline and advertising, they don't always have the lowest price on everything. But I'm typically satisfied with my shopping experience.

But since I've let my preconceived notions down, and let myself enjoy the low prices, my gf and I really enjoy just going to shop as something to do! We know the people, where everything is, about how much we need to get through the week and when we can afford to splurge! The 1 dollar and clearance items are addicting! It's pretty much our favorite place to go, even just to go and spend a little money, as entertainment.. not just to shop. But that is pretty fun too.

McDonalds opens at 7am. They offer a full range of items from regular groceries, to clothes, electronics/entertainment, a well stock auto center, and well stocked home and garden center in the summer. Usually enough cashiers to take of your your full cart needs quickly, and plenty of self checkouts to take care of your small loads on your own.

Most of the camping equipment and essentials are not available which are basic necessities for tourists. I feel it should be the prime responsibility of walmart to have enough stock of all the stuff required for camping, hiking, etc as it is a tourist location every one are in need of the same thing and the supplies are always short.

Long lines, weird people and interesting messes along the aisles make it feel like you are in some ghetto movie from the 1990's. It's Walmart. Don't buy produce here it's GMO city. Good store! The intoxicated are plenty here outside. Bicycles stolen even if you lock it up, car theft, cars broken into, panhandlers, people trying to fight you in the parking lot. Seen men squatting to browsing women's thong undies on lower racks, while wearing a lace thong when shirt rides up. Seen a colostomy bag break, and the person drip it all over the store, and an employee clean it with a simple green smelling spray, and paper towels on the floor, using the shoe on his foot to push the towels around. I have pictures lol . It was everywhere in the store, food, electronics, clothes etc. You will see in the attached picture. The whole store smelled. From the front door, to the back of the store. Best security team on the inside of store. Those guys and gals are good at what they do! Love to sit near the action lol

So I despise Walmart, but I just moved to Anchorage from Texas and this Wally World is just down the street from me, so I've been frequenting it. Sadly no HEB in Alaska. Anyway, this Walmart is actually much cleaner than some of the dumpster fire stores back in Texas. A great deal of the staff aren't half bad. It's pleasant enough for a Walmart.

This demographic region of the city has high crime and the environment is unique. There is always something to either entertain me or disgust and annoy me at Walmart Mid-town Anchorage. People just cant figure out something as simple as how to Enter via the "Entrance" or the "Exit" even though it clearly says which is which above these doors. I find it very annoying how the traffic flows here. Homeless are always present and use the facilities to bathe and shave and whatever else that they do in there. And believe me when I say "whatever" they do in there because I have heard some noises in those restrooms that I wouldn't want children to witness. That being said, "SHOPPERS BEWARE" Sometimes I pull in and then leave because of the vibe I get when I arrive there. Have a nice day and please ENTER & EXIT THROUGH THE CORRECT DOORS PLEASE. It's no wonder why the human race is in so much trouble people can't even figure out how to go in or out have a place through Mark Stores they're forming in a way and disrupting traffic and I love when people stop and check their freaking emails in the doorway and you can't walk around the person or they're stopping right in the doorway to clean their carts for they don't get covid-19
