Reviews of The Candy Lady
Had to come here - the boy loves Breaking Bad and this is where the blue crystals infamously came from for the show! Great service and lots of variety offered - even a hearty sugar free selection! A fun stop!
A family friend recommended The Candy Lady, so I had to check it out for myself when I was in Albuquerque. It was a fun little shop and lots of choices. I picked up some chocolate covered pinon clusters for family friends and some chocolate covered rice crispy treats for my son. They had some fudge for sampling and funny gag gifts for parties and special occasions. A great place to get candy as gifts for loved ones and friends!
What an experience today with the Candy Lady and her amazing staff! I saw another review saying how friendly the staff was so I went in to see for myself.
After buying souvenirs for my son who loves the show, they all insisted I take pictures and send them to him.
I haven't laughed so hard in ages!
Thank you for all the advice, joy, & memories you gave me today!
Your friend from "Bama,"
Monica
Just a fun experience all around shopping for Crystal meth candy from the store that fronted Walter White his blue meth in the form of rock candy for the TV show. The owner might be one of the friendliest people on the planet. She took us through the store like we were her first customers, showed us around, even let us dress up like Heisenburg and sample the "product." This is a must stop experience if you are fans of Breaking Bad.
The candy lady Walter white was standing outside so I got to take pictures with him and then I met the lovely G. Beautiful, kind, and talk to me a lot about Albuquerque. I love when I travel and I meet beautiful people like G.
The variety of candies, gifts and T-shirt and photo opps are great.
I WOULD RECOMMEND

One word to describe the candy 🍬
AMAZING 👏
I RECOMMEND IT ALL!🍫
NOTHING SHE MAKES IS Even remotely BAD ITS ALL DELICIOUS 😭 and I tried the black Licorish and I don't even like that stuff!🍭 if you can't go I would atleast order it 🤩
I have been buying from this store for over 15 years and I literally love this place, I live out of state but I always order from her and she mails me the stuff and if I was not disabled I would be willing to volunteer for free just to get free candy 🍭. The licorice that she has from Europe no one else in the country has it and I have driven from California to New York and she is really the best in the country 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Very personal store in a way that you can barely move around when there is more than 5 people inside. A wide variety of fudge, seasoned seeds, chocolate and covered anything. Even have some adult sculpted candies for bachelorette/bachelor parties!
Best candy store 🍭🍬🍫
Super friendly people ❤️
Breaking Bad supplies 🔥
Big thanks lady for special touch and support 🥰
I've been visiting The Candy Lady since I was a kid. Of course I got my faves, like her candied pecans and piñon fudge, but today I found my new favorite. The dark chocolate lemon cream was amazing 😍! The store was crowded, but the customer service was great and fast, as always. Thank you!! …
This lady and her store ate absolutely amazing. If you are a big Breaking Bad fan, this is a must-see place. The Candy Lady is absolutely the friendliest person in Albuquerque. 10 🌟 …
They have the best variety of amazing chocolates! The staff is always so pleasant. To my delight they where out of what I usually get there, and the owner said she would make me them if I had a few minutes to wait! Even with a lobby full of people I got what I wanted! Thank you Candy Lady
Buy a piece of Divinity immediately. Do not pass go. Do not be distracted by Jesse or Walt. After said Divinity has been eaten, make sure to grab a photo with Blue Sky on the back. Then take your time perusing all the delicious candy, nuts, and x-rated candy. The owner is so friendly and helpful. She is shipping all the candy I bought and my kids already are excited to receive it! She is so knowledgeable and friendly - customer service that reminds you of forgotten times. This is a must visit place when in Old Town Albuquerque!
Just YES! We got dime bags of blue crystal meth, chocolate covered pretzels, and a piñon log, which were all super tasty! They have lots of samples and if you’re a peanut butter fan you MUST get the pb crunch (I think that’s what it was called)
Loved this place! Located within Albuquerque's Old Town, just up the road from the central plaza, this quaint shop has an amazing selection of different sweets and candies available. Fudge, chili-infused chocolates, cherry cordials, chocolate-covered Oreos, peanut butter sweets - this place has everything!
Personally, I was particularly fond of their orange-infused fudge, but you really can't go wrong with anything here.
As an added bonus, if you're a Breaking Bad fan, you'll have more reason to visit here, as this is where the show's blue meth was actually made. They have a cute room near the back of the store where you can take pictures with trays of the blue rock candy, along with colourful aprons, fedoras, and shades if you want to go full Heisenberg. They sell little bags of the blue candy for $1, or larger bags for $10.
Great stopover for anyone in the area that has a sweet tooth! The staff here were also SO friendly and helpful, so kudos to them.
Came here because of the stories of their involvement with Breaking Bad. Had a sign on the door which invited everybody inside the store. Felt the hospitality before I went inside.
Employees were kind and helpful, answering my questions on what’s popular and gave samples out. Of course, you have to get their famous Breaking Bad candy and fudge.
If you love candy and Breaking Bad, this is a place to visit!!!! I sampled the fudge and got some fun photos with the “blue meth.” I loved the green chili fudge most, it definitely has a nice kick to it! Friendly and prompt service, I would come back for more!
We stopped by the Candy Lady in Old Town to pick up some Breaking Bad memorabilia. The staff are really helpful and friendly. I purchased some Pollo Hermano T-shirts and some blue rock candy. You can also sign up for the Breaking bad tour at their shop. I enjoyed their free samples of fudge infused with red and green Chile. Worh the visit.
The best candy, chocolates, cake etc. located in old town Albuquerque. The Candy Lady is amazing and the staff are very helpful and courteous. Had to get my Breaking Bad candy fix and memorabilia there. 5 stars and a must visit!!
Whether you come.for the Breaking Bad connection, the X rated chocolates, or the candy counter just get here. Super friendly people. Good pointers for tourists. You HAVE to try the peanut candy by the register. OMG it is addictive. And yes those peanut butter cups are MASSIVE.
Great service, fun vibe, yummy chocolate covered candied orange slices. Delightful little candy shop. I can’t wait to give my hubby the Breaking Bad/blue rock candy Christmas ornament we purchased there.
Very friendly ladies behind the counter. Fast service even with several people in line. We were only after the breaking bad blue hard candy. The sizes they sell are distribution and dime bag. $10 and $1. Had so many other treats like fudge, chocolate cherries, and so much more.
Great fudge. Besides blue meth candy, this candy lady makes some good treats! But of course, as a fan of Breaking Bad, that's why we really stopped was the little blue bags from the cooker! Great shop with tons of BB souvenirs, let the staff know u are a fan and maybe gain access to the back room for prop pictures! And try the candy, all the chocolate was super good!
I’m just in town for a little while and I haven’t stopped by yet; I plan on coming in tomorrow or the next day, but based off reviews I LOVE this place!! All the hot headed liberals mad about masks made me giggle. I love her brave outstanding attitude and making her political opinion open. You don’t like it you can leave!! Absolutely love it and can’t wait to stop by!! I had to screenshot and send some of the reviews to family and friends cause they were so funny! I hope she’s there when I stop by so I can talk with her, also can’t wait to try to amazing candy!
It’s not naughty… it’s something you can eat off season or any time of the year???Piñon !!! I bought a Piñon roll with Caramel which was delicious, Piñon Brittle hit the spot and a Milk Chocolate Piñon Patty. I love Piñon and there is such a variety I have to go back! They are so friendly and nice and they give free samples. This is a great shop that I always have to stop at when I come to Old Town. Parking right in front of the shop before street light on Mountain makes it very easy to stop real quick!
The Candy Lady is an awesome shop full of great candy, fudge, and chocolate covered everything. She is the one who made the blue crystal (candy) for the first two seasons of Breaking Bad, so you can find lots of souvenirs here too. The candy we tried was all awesome!
Yes this is the candy shop that provided the prop meth for the show Breaking Bad. You can go there and buy candy meth, but there’s more there than candy meth and the people there are so hospitable and nice. If you don’t like Breaking Bad or candy that looks like meth you can still great stuff and great people here. Go get some candy.
The sweetest lady was running the shop and made us feel like she'd known us for years. And the treats are absolutely DELICIOUS! Also a hot stop for Breaking Bad fans! A MUST stop if traveling through!
It was busy here.. the tourist attraction was booming... I wanted to get a candy apple... My niece wanted to go to the mall to get some candy apples.. I was let's just go to the Candy Lady. I never have been and I hear a lot about it. I stayed outside with my dog while my niece went to check out the selection of candy apples. My niece had only gotten Carmel apples because this is what the Candy Lady only had. I switched places with my niece. I went in to purchase the Carmel apples. The young lady that was helping my niece had already had the items in a bag when I got to the counter. As I approached the young lady to ask for the candy apples.. She grabbed the bag of Carmel apples and tossed them to the bag counter behind her. ( I think she thought my niece was not going to come back for the items.) I said Hi I came for the candy apples. She explained to me that they do not have candy apples. That they are Carmel apples. I was k... Then can I buy the Carmel apples. She grabbed the bag behind her and I purchased the items. I believe it was a long day for the staff and they were exhausted.
Tasty chocolates. Some naughty designs, but fun. The staff were friendly. I think chocolate made at this very high altitude tastes different than chocolate made at or near sea level.
They have a nice little setup for Breaking Bad fans. The owners were very friendly and loved to chat. The store is very clean and easy to find. They have a good assortment of sweets to choose from. They also have a good variety of souvenirs to choose from. It's a nice little place that is worth checking out, especially if you are a Breaking Bad fan.
This place is the best in town if you are not going here you are only doing yourself a disservice. Also she has a cafe right across the way with the best lemonade and Frito pie.
So I haven't been to The Candy Lady candy store in quite a while five Stars tho⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just caz The candy lady her self she is very welcoming and has the best attitude and coustmer service and there is always some sort of samples if u want to try something and if there is not just ask IAM sure she will be glad to let u try out something ... but um so she has her own parking lot know.. So u don't have to park in the street or in the paid parking area , So I guess she opened up the parking lot about a year ago so just a F.Y.I if you wanted to go by and get some candy or a sweet treat for your self or as a gift also remember that The Candy Lady Sells that candy Meth from the Breaking Bad show along with Tee-shirts and stuff that have to do with the show and she also sell the tickets for the Breaking-Bad Rv tour.. I would suggest her candy shop to anyone who loves candy she is the best Candy Shop in Town no ifs ands or buts about it lol 😄😀💯💪😁☺️😊😃🤩😍🥰🍭🍬🍫!!!!
Dangerous to pocketbook and waistline, but 100% worth it. Divine candy, fun stuff, and funny items about the Breaking Bad tv show. the little "Crystal Blue" rock candy is adorable and the raspberry creme was wonderful. And they have a HALF a full case of items that are sugar free, so go on in anyway! Totally not crowded on a Tuesday.
a very nice lady at the candy lady can sell you some of the Blue Crystal of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman and many others souvenirs like a really Walter White hat. Also can buy many other kind of candies and chocolates home made.
Debbie (The Candy Lady) helped me out with a last minute bachelor party request from her "naughty" collection and is looking to be a party hit. I'll be sure to keep her in mind all my future cakes and candy.
This was a fabulous experience! The owner showed us her products and let us take a breaking bad picture.
What an incredible shop! Not only can you purchase delicious treats, but you get a total interactive experience (Breaking Bad). The customer service is also top notch (the warmest, friendliest staff, ever). We can't wait to go back!!!
I highly recommend this store. The owner was super nice giving me props for pictures. The cashier was super nice help me get souvenirs and the chocolate 🍫 was soooo good!! Thank you …
Great place. Lots of variety, tons of licorice, fudge and chocolates. Thanks for the suggestions as well. Candy Lady rules!
I feel bad podting a critical review because the staff were all very friendly and the place was clean, but we just really didn't have a good experience here. In the end, our order was missing three items we asked for, and we caught the cashier in the middle of one mistake where she started selecting dark chocolates and white chocolates when we had twice asked just for milk chocolate. One truffle was the wrong sort. And the whole shop smelled very strongly of something that did smell edible, but was very off-putting. The fudge doesn't seem like it set properly with the top half being a different texture to the bottom half. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be firm or creamy, but it was both in the same bite.
It may be better when the shop isn't busy, or with a different cashier, but it's really frustrating to not get what we asked for and to have to make corrections while ordering. It felt like we weren't being listened to at all.
If you love candy as much as Breaking Bad, this is an absolute must stop in Old Town Albuquerque. The staff is very helpful. Irena provided extra special assistance helping us find what we were looking for. When she found out we were BrBa fans she set us up with a surprise photo shoot with Walt and Jesse (cutouts) helping them weigh and bag some genuine Bad Candy Lady blue ice.
All kinds of candy here. Even adult candy . The staff was very friendly and helpful and they have decent prices. Anything from chocolate covered Oreos to green chilli candy. Definitely stop by.
Great service! And EXCELLENT SELECTION!! ALL Breaking Bad Fans will absolutely love! 😍😍🔥🔥 …
Famous Candy from Breaking Bad TV series great Icon in Old Town Plaza in Albuquerque
The older man working there was very kind. If you asked him about something, he'd reply very quickly. He was so friendly, he got his phone out, and started showing us pictures of different breaking bad related things.
Cool shop! A bit pricey but worth checking out.
Get your Breaking Bad meth here. Great customer service. Even sugar free options.
My favorite: fruits dipped in chocolate! There is also the well known blue crystal candy and a scale for tourists to take pictures of... And a section for Bachelor/Bachelorette party's (which include party favors for both men and women.)
It's a great place to finds gifts for those who have everything.
Super cute candy shop with free parking in the back! Great photo props and cute Breaking Bad merchandise inside. This is the lady that made all of the blue rock for the series. Fantastic shop!
Fun if you are a breaking bad fan. Owner made the "blue meth" prop for the show. You can pose with cut outs of Walter White and Jesse with a batch of baby blue. Fun!
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Delicious candy. Will be back.
Smells like heaven.. The best way I describe opening the door here. Candy was great, prices were great, customer service was great.
Amazing candy and fudge and the customer service is great!! Love this place!!
Candy lady was good I bought some sugar-free candy jelly beans for my wife
They have great samples of all different types of fudge. Green chile, red chile, orange, lemon and even regular fudge.
The ladies here were instantly my best friends. I would come back just to chat with them again. The candy was amazing and obviously homemade.
Recommended 10/10
Thank you for my delightful salted black licorice!
I went here on my trip to Albuquerque and I'm SO glad I did! I met the owner and had a really nice conversation with her. There are soooo many options of candy to choose from! Definitely try the while chocolate pepper fudge! I also loved the chocolate covered peaches.
The best candy store in the country I live in the Colorado and my family is in Kentucky so I drive back and forth and make sure I always stop by. I have been here for the last 20 years
I love ❤️ the candy Lady Fudge Walnut 😋 so delicious omg has a amazing taste I been here 3 times but haven't been here in year's & she is very nice ill be going alot to get my candy for my children & granddaughter & myself …
So fun! Lovely staff, delicious candies & novelties!
I love this place. Such great and fun candy. They have everything from great homemade chocolate creations to the blue stuff you saw in Breaking Bad, in rock candy form of course. They also have all sorts of Breaking Bad items from tee-shirts to coffee mugs and Pez dispensers. A must stop if you are in the area. Everyone in there is super nice was well. Stop in and say hello!
If I could give The Candy Lady 10 stars, I would. I was looking for something special for my mom for her birthday and, since it is a holiday, no one was delivering. Not only did the owner deliver delicious candy that my mom absolutely loved, but she also grabbed a bouquet of flowers for my mom and delivered those as well. She went above and beyond my expectations and made my mom very happy on her special day. I have also actually been to The Candy Lady store, when we were visiting my parents in Albuquerque in the past, and they do have several delicious and unique options. We will definitely get more sweets and treats from them again.
Small place with awesome service and a nice little selection. We visit with our girls every year!
Super friendly family-owned place. This place is been in Albuquerque For as long as I can remember. When I was a little kid my mom worked here and I fell in love with the place. Was recently back in town for a graduation and had to stop by, the fudge is still just as good as it was back then
I hate leaving unhappy reviews but unless you like Breaking Bad, the store is underwhelming. There was so much Breaking Bad merch that there was hardly any space for candy. They have a rated 18+ section but it is wide open and all they have is a sign saying don't go in unless you are 18+.
On a plus side, They have a wide variety of chocolates and chocolate related candy but lack on other candies. Also, one of the ladies was very friendly and enjoyed talking to customers.
They make some of there own candy but I was disappointed. The sour hard candy was sadly, not sour. The candy was quite expensive and I was hoping for more. I also bought a stick of rock candy but it was flavorless despite being supposedly "lemon" flavored. It was also very expensive.
Not only was the store over priced, underwhelming, and lacking a wide variety of candy, but they also calculated my purchase wrong and over charged me a bit. I have social anxiety so I couldn't speak up about it.
I went here as a kid and got the balloon chocolate lollypop and have been dreaming about it ever since! So good, all if their candy is good, and the service is phenomenal!
Funny, friendly staff, encouraged me to don the Heisenberg outfit. Delicious candies in addition to the "blue meth"!
I am just giving you a 5 for being so smart with your smart candies
Great place!! The candy is delicious and the selection is incredible.
Best candy in town. Some awesome memorabilia from Breaking Bad! I'm so happy that they offer shipping too! I can stock up when I'm not in town. I HEAVILY recommend visiting here if you haven't already.
Gem of a place. Great for Albuquerque tourism. The staff was friendly and helpful. The sweet lady even went above and beyond to take some pictures for me wearing the Heisenberg disguise and breaking up some blue meth candy! Parking is a little tough, but you can walk there from your Old Town parking spot. Fun Breaking Bad stuff and wide variety of candy to choose from. Very interesting flavors in there
Sun a fun store - a must stop if you're in town!
Unbelievable, went in because of the blue candy. Did not know I was going to be treated to the whole breaking Bad experience. Took pictures with my kids as Walter White. The staff here was so friendly. This is the way to treat people. Thank you so much for the experience. Buy lots of candy it is delicious!!
What a fun and hilarious visit. Met the owner Debbie Ball and the lovely lady behind the counter. Friendly and I loved the x rated chocolate! Reminded me of the exotic baker of NYC from the 1970s. You will always win me over with dark chocolate marzipan. Delightful and 😋. Don't walk run!!!!!! …
Ordered online the owner coordinated with us on a pickup time that would work for both of us. Went today and got our goodies. Quick service, and great attitudes from employee. We had a question about the packaging but they answered our questions promptly. One of ABQ's best!!!
Cute little shop with a large variety of chocolates and novelty candies, including officially licensed Breaking Bad candy. Prices are a little high in my opinion, but honestly the quality of the chocolate is well worth it. The staff are all very friendly, which is nice considering the high volume of traffic this shop gets.
If you find yourself in Albuquerque, NM - stop in for some incredible fudge and black licorice (I happen to love it)- awesome staff who answer any question and offer samples.
Try the hot chili 🌶 fudges! Yum! …
Walked past a few times and did not go in - do we wanted sweets? But then our curiosity got the better of us and we popped in. So glad we did not miss this experience. On the way in the Breaking Bad photo opportunity, then the lady shared some great stories and made us feel very welcome. Some unusual and lovely items (mint choc covered pretzel, nut brittle with pecan nuts, etc). From just wanting some blue meth, we came out with some fun candy stuff, a mug and a lovely sweety smelling T shirt! We were invited into the back room for the big Breaking Bad photo opportunity and that was amazing. Would definitely recommend popping in and letting the atmosphere take hold, a very friendly Candy Lady.
Cute place! Love the Breaking Bad gift ideas. They sell the famous blue candy in reference to the show lol. Some come with tumblers or shot glasses with show references on them. They also are sold with boxes that say “Candy Lady” and their location, gift ready! There is a wide variety of candies here. And also an x-rated section that’s pretty funny. This store is located in a part of town with unique shopping and small stores, next to the old Town Emporium.
The staff here is truly hilarious! They helped us try a bunch of fudge and I bought some unique Breaking Bad souvenirs. They have a good selection of sweet items to take home. Be sure to take your Walter White picture on the way out!
Right now due to covid it is one person in the store at time, but the staff was super nice and everything we tried was incredibly delicious! I highly recommend the Peanut Butter crunch! Their fudge was also some of the softest and creamiest I've ever had.
A must visit location for any fan of Breaking Bad as the Candy Lady is the provider of the blue meth used in the show. The store has LOTS of yummy sweet treats, and kudos to the Candy Lady for including her brand on all of the Breaking Bad merchandise.
Cute store. I wish that I had given the time it deserved. I didn't buy anything, but my sisters did. I tasted what they bought: hard sour candies, fudge, and even bite size peanut butter cookies, were all delicious.
This place is great. It is a good stop for tourists and locals alike to check out some Breaking Bad memorabilia, buy some candy for the family, and buy unique gifts. Be sure to check out the sex section for gag gifts, candies shapes like certain anatomical parts.
The homemade fudge, licorice, chocolates, are amazing. The staff is fabulous. This is where the pros for "Breaking Bad" come from. The owner is charming but she should wear gloves ccx when slicing fudge and placing candy in a bag. The elderly woman who waited on us is a great salesman Bought $50 worth of candy.
Very fun place! Owner was very friendly and asking where we were visiting from. Candy lady's husband (?) offered to let us put on apron and (Walt style) hat and take our pics "cooking meth" in the back room. He pointed out several BB sites we should see and was helpful with directions. A little over zealous on his sales approach though. Yummy candy (recommend chocolate covered orange slices). They are definitely banking on BB visitors.
The Candy Lady is very special part of Albuquerque and I would say New Mexico in general. She blesses us with her beautiful and yummy treats. She always has samples and popa smile ob her face. When we have visitors from out of state. It's a must to take them here. There is something for everyone at The Candy Lady's. Many of you us don't know but she is originally from Oklahoma. I'm so thankful she ended up here in New Mexico Albuquerque would not be the same without her!
Came here a couple weekends ago and they had so much to choose from! I got the amaretto chocolates and I wish I would have gotten more!! Staff was sooo friendly and welcoming. They even came out to help me find my hat that blew away with a bad wind storm. I will definitely stop by here again on my road trips!
Had lots of fun in the back room "cooking". I was able to obtain lots of Breaking Bad souvenirs which I brought back to San Antonio w me. All of them are great conversational pieces. I'm definitely looking forward to our next visit.
I wish I had gotten the cashiers name, she was such a kind woman! I’m happy we got our breaking bad candy and you can just tell she loves her job! Thanks for making mine and my husbands day!
My favorite shop in old town!
Very cool shop. The creators of the show Breaking Bad came to her and had her create the iconic Blue Sky meth prop for the show (it's rock candy). She even had a area set up where you can dress up and take pictures in front of a huge pan of the Blue Sky. Great place to check out for any Breaking Bad fan
If you're looking for one of the coolest Breaking Bad experiences in Albuquerque, look no further. They have a great selection of candies and even some special candy if you ask politely at the counter.
Fun place to check out! Friendly and helpful staff, cool products offered (be sure to check out the 18+ room) and even had fudge out for free tasting. Fun experience for all ages!
Really tasty place! Lots of variety and very helpful! For the Breaking Bad fans, they made the "blue meth" prop for the show and you can buy your own!
They have tons of candy to choose from. They also have a breaking bad section of the store where you can buy " blue meth" they have an erotic candy section which is just great and a whole area for chocolates. They book tours out of the chocolate shop for breaking bad. They take you in an rv and show you the set buildings around Albuquerque.
Breaking bad blue candy was a must went there and the owners were sooo nice. They took us to the "lab" for a awesome photo op. Highlight of our trip!! Great fudge rocky road is a must!
Take a trip and come visit this shop! I love their candy!!! Ask to talk to Kevin and he will gladly show you around the shop. He was awesome to talk to, he was informative about the candy they sold and he has many great stories to tell. Be sure to add room to your itenerary to come and soak up this cool place!!!
I'm torn on how many stars to give here because I love The Candy Lady, but the salesman wasn't very nice. I brought out-of-town friends to The Candy Lady to show off our little Albuquerque gem. The gentleman behind the counter seemed to be having a bad day and wasn't very friendly. Kinda put a downspin on an otherwise great day. Great fudge tho!
Thus place is cool as hell, if it a fan of the show you'll dig this place!!
I was there before the store was even open. I found her by chance, they were in the parking lot talking while work was going on inside. She was very nice and obliged me by selling me some blue "meth" out of the back of her car as a souvenir for my kids. She spent quite some time giving us the history of the Breaking Bad show, and gave us tips on different things to do in the area. She did not have to spend all that time with us, but she did, which made my experience with New Mexico in general very worthwhile.
This cute little place has so many chocolate and candy options! They have chocolate dipped everything it seems, ranging from other sweets like marshmallows to fruits, as well as a large selection of fudge. There are also lots of non-chocolate options including sour candies. Definitely a pleasant surprise for such a small shop!
Amazing homemade candy and awesome Breaking Bad Merchandise. There's even a display with "meth" and cash on a cart in the back room. Now, there is a small space for 18+, but it has a sign warning you that's hard to miss. Overall, a nice place to bring kids, just not in that small space.
You came for the Blue Crystal. But don't leave until you try the banana fudge.
Stay out my territory, at least that's how I felt when i visited here! Heard they sell all kinds of breaking bad goodies and before we left Albuquerque, I wanted to come here. I'm glad I did. Now parking here is not what everyone would wish for on their Christmas it is but it's doable! Make sure when the GPS says turn right, DON"T! It's a one way street and the GPS sometimes doesn't follow the law.
When you come here you will be greeted with breaking bad memorabilia including stills, autographs from the beloved show! Mark was really awesome, he spotted the love in my eyes for Breaking Bad and took us into the back where they had blue "meth" in a tray which for the record is just rock candy but looks awfully similar to the one they used in the show. They had a cutout of Walter White and Jessie (yeah b****!) and gave us the Heisenberg hat and glasses to take pictures with!
Before we left, we made sure to grab some bags of the good stuff and I grabbed a couple of magnets from the show. They have many more items and even have a map to where everyone lived! Including Walter's house and jessie's house. And for those of you wondering, yes they do have tours that will take you to these places if you would like a more guided tour! If I had more time I would definitely go to everywhere on the map and definitely NOT throw pizzas on Walter's house
Absolutely loved this place! I purchased the “blue meth” and a lot of other good candy in the store. The people were very nice and even took me to the back to take a picture with a bunch of Breaking Bad props.
I called because covid has closed a lot of places down..... they not only were willing to open the store early they also made sure to call me back leave a message and let me know they had opened.... if that aint customer service I dont know what is.... the limitations on designed breaking bad shirts kinda bothered me but the show has been over for some years. they had a design on a shirt that I liked but not in my size
Came here to try the blue crystal during a self guided Breaking Bad tour. LOVED the dollar baggies. Gave a humorous photo opportunity. Everything looked amazing. Will come back next time I'm in ABQ
Do you love Breaking Bad? Then this is the candy show for you! You can have super tasty candy as well as meeting the nice candy lady, that made the prop "meth" for the show breaking bad. Definitely go see. Also they have great novelty candy for the grown-ups!
“SUP PLAYA”,
My aunt and cousin wanted to visit the candy lady before leaving town and we had such a great experience! They originally close at 5pm on Sunday’s and they let us in the door at 7pm as they were about to lock up. Kevin was extremely hospitable and genuinely kind.
10/10 would recommend.
So it seems fitting that I am doing the first review as I have been trying to get my hands on those little baggies of the "blue stuff" since I was in town for Xmas two years ago and the 3x I have been back since...turns out the 4th time is the charm here!
I happened upon their new location when I was passing through and as luck would have it, The Candy Lady herself greeted me at the door! I cannot convey enough how nice this woman is! You can tell she really cares about her product, image, and most importantly, her customers!
If you are looking for any kind of Breaking Bad paraphernalia, this is your place! They have merch, those little baggies of the blue stuff, and they even offer a Breaking Bad location tour! And The Candy Lady will most graciously oblige you w/a photo op sporting a Heisenberg hat and holding a bin of "Blue Sky" not only Breaking Bad, but also some fake Benjamins!
Now on to the chocolates! I only had a Grand Marnier truffle and a dark chocolate candy ginger, but both were super delish! You can tell the top notch ingredients and can definitely taste the quality! My only thing was that the gal that rang me up didn't tell me the price per item before she did even though I asked, so I had some sticker shock when those two pieces rang up for $8! They were really really good, but $4/piece was a little too rich for my blood.
In any case, I had a blast and was so happy to have visited the new location! The quality of the treats is fantastic and I got to try a few samples of fudge that were also great (and I am not a fudge person). They also make it a point to not "cross-contaminate" so every product is made separately to avoid harming people w/food allergies.
Highly recommend a visit!
Best candy in the state of New Mexico....
Heavenly delicious....
Awesome staff and amazing owner of the place...
Certainly leads by example and has an incredible staff...all so personal and helpful...
Top notch !!!
Truly a 5 diamond rating...!!!
What a GREAT experience!! I highly recommend visiting this place when in town. They have 'Breaking Bad' props and everything! Great regular candy, too!
Such an amazing candy store. And the people are so friendly and helpful.
This is always a must stop when walking around Old Town. The sweets are amazing and its also a great stop for gag gifts. Talking with the owner is always nice, she makes you feel welcomed and truly cares about everyone that walks into her shop
I loved it, if you are stopping if you are passing through the city it's worth it to stop on in. They have it all, shirts, candy, lewd candy, you name it. Staff is super nice also the entire experience was great and I'd recommend a visit to anyone in the area. They have a bunch of Break bad stuff also, mugs, candy, shirts, plates. It's so wooooorth it to stop here.
The new location retains the friendly 'home' atmosphere plus is much brighter inside! The candy is as good as ever and it's great to see so many people lined up at the counter and deciding which delicious treats to order.
Im from Boston. You need to visit The Candy Lady just for the experience with the gentlemen who works there. I wish I remembered his Name !! PRICELESS CONVERSATION !!!! The fudge and chocolate are top shelf. FAMILY RECIPES. Yes it's the famous Meth from Breaking Bad, but the guy there makes it more than a candy/chocolate shop
If you love chocolate then this will be heaven. Try the chile candy
The Candy Lady was a great shop just a few steps away from Albuquerque "Old Town". The staff were kind enough to mix a bag of green and red chile candy for me since they were out of pre-mixed bags. I really appreciated this kind service as this was the only flavor I wanted and also being on a road trip, I knew the candy would not spoil when bringing some back home to friends and family. I was able to purchase several bags. Thank you Candy Lady!
They made the blue "meth" props for Breaking Bad (rock candy) and sell it as a souvenir. They sell lots of other souvenirs as well, and will let you dress up as Heisenberg & pose with some "meth" to have your picture taken. Aside from the Breaking Bad stuff they have lots of other great candy & sweets. They also have some X rated candies & some cannabis products too if you're into those kinds of things. Located in Old Town Albuquerque so make sure you check out the whole area with plenty of restaurants, shops, etc.
Very cool place! Very nice people and great chocolates and candy. She let us try a little bit of anything we wanted. A lot of really great Breaking Bad things also.
A must-see for Breaking Bad fans. This is Ground Zero for your Breaking Bad Merchandise.
Debbie, the Candy Lady, is an excellent city host. She provided the crystals for the Breaking Bad series. You can get your tour maps here. Oh yeah: the candy is Great!
She's located next to a plethora of other tourist shops. I'm new to the area and she talked my ear off with good advice for the newcomer.
Awesome shop. Variety to satisfy any craving. The staff here is super helpful and friendly. Cakes available for all occasions not to mention breaking bad gear.
A must stop place if your a Breaking Bad Fan. The candy lady supplied the blue crystal meth used in Breaking Bad. As soon as you enter the store you enter a small foyer where I found a Heisenberg Hat, Glasses, and a bucket of blue meth, available for you to take photographs.
The inside of the store has a good selection of Breaking Bad items, everything from shirts and hats, to mugs, keychains, and magnets. They also sell the blue meth candy in little baggies. At the time I visited they were only $1 a bag.
The Breaking Bad tours also stop here, so occasionally the Breaking Bad "Crystal Ship" RV will pull up and dump a dozen people off.
The store is located in the artsy, historical part of Albuquerque, city parking is available behind the building, and allows you to stroll the area, and shop the many other little stores nearby.
They employees, including the owner were so friendly and nice. They let us try the different fudges to see which ones we liked. They offered many different flavors of fudges and different types of candies.
My favorite candy store in the entire WORLD. Where else can you buy Breaking Bad themed candy? The fudge is excellent too. Always freshly made. The people working there are down to earth, and very informed. This is an Albuquerque classic, and a MUST stop if you are traveling to/through Albuquerque.
For me, I need to stop here every time I visit or drive through Albuquerque! Some of the best chocolate strawberries and a good selection of chocolates and other candies. They even have a decent selection of Dutch candy and licorice.
A true Gem in Albuquerque family tradition every time we go to old town! Great Breaking Bad stuff too in the new place! And lots of selection for those of us that have to eat sugar free chocolate :)
The candy lady is the best very friendly lots of samples some of the best chocolate on Earth they also will take pictures of you in the back like breaking bad every time I go to New Mexico I stop here
Fantastic small business. Years ago she created a set of truffles for my wife who was nursing our son who had developed a peanut allergy. He was still an infant and had already had a severe reaction. She assured me they would be absolutely peanut free. Can't get that kind of service anywhere else.
Glad I met The Candy Lady. We had an interesting conversation, she is a nice lady. I will be back. Cute little store. I tried the white chocolate covered raspberries, they were so fresh.
The staff was very friendly and we had a great time. The quality of the candy they make is top notch! Worth checking out if you're a breaking bad fan!
As a Breaking Bad fan, The Candy Lady is a MUST! I really enjoyed my experience as the staff is super friendly and accommodating.
P.S. The chili fudge is to die for!
Lots of choice and the Breaking Bad candy is a hoot. Not cheap though.
Stop there to buy some candy, from Breaking Bad, but they have a larger selection also....the green Chile fudge is delicious
Purchased breaking bad candy from here...
The staff is awesome! But, if you want the BEST stuff in there..... Get the peanut butter CRACK! It's by the cashier in the front. Better than any Butterfinger center you will EVER eat!
Free pictures with Breaking Bad cut out's of stars, best candy variety, their own parking lot in Old Town what more can you ask for.
I LOVE LOVE this store since I found it almost 20 years ago and I can not enough good stuff about this place the owner has been very kind and has gone out of her way to send me orders Out of state. I leave in Arizona and go back to Kentucky were my family is at and I make it a point to always stop by. Please support this business if you can. 😍😍😍💓💕💓
We have been coming to her since she was on Broadway best candy Burque has
Thank you Debbie for always making us welcomed
The sweetest lady there ever was and I'm speaking about the owner and the employees were the best ever.
Great range of chocs including sugar free for us diabetics. Mix-n-match your own range. Chap who owns it(I think) was so helpful with local travel hints.
Debbie and staff were fantastic...posed for photos and everything even though they have tourists dropping in all day
When you're a kid at heart, it doesn't matter how old you are. You're still going to stop at a candy store if you see one! This one had lots if handmade goodies, such as fudge and oreo cookies dipped in different chocolates or mint flavored white chocolate. Fun!
Enjoyed chatting with the staff. Great fun and chocolate too!!
GREAT workers, YUMMY candy in any shape U want......If you LIKE Breaking Bad, Go there.....JUST GO there.....
Awesome little shop with tons of candy and fudge to select from!
Wow!! If you’re a Breaking Bad fan, this place is a must-see!! Lots of memorabilia and yummy treats. The owner is delightful and informative. :)
Very nice and helpful staff. We were able to try a variety of dutch licorice. Has the largest selection of licorice in the state. We found exactly what we were looking for.
Kevin is awesome! Knows the area and very informative - he's basically a one man Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Information Center.
Oh, the candy is great too.
I belong to the 96.3 birthday club and I went down to the candy lady in Old Town to get my free pound of fudge and they're really nice and I thought I'd have to purchase something but I did not have to and they are very just exceptionally great the parking was tricky but it was well worth it
Excellent Chocolate. Try the peanut butter crunch. It is like a gourmet Butterfinger it is also good covered on ice cream. She also has it covered in chocolate. She made the prop meth for the TV Show Breaking Bad. She sells at $1 for a Dimebag and $10 for a distributor pack. Of course remember it's his candy
Soooooo FUN. Can get souvenirs from hit TV show Breaking Bad.
A Must See Experience Albuquerque Attraction~Best CaNdY Ever & SuperCool Breaking Bad Inspired Famous Blue Meth Novelty*Even Have Heisenberg Cooking In Back Ready To Take Photos With AnyOne Who Dares For Tips🥰 …
It's a must-stop if you're there for the Breaking Bad experience. And definitely ask to get pictures with the tray of meth...uhh...candy. just ...just do it.
Breaking Bad fan? Looking for adult novelty confections? Or perhaps you just want quality home made candy. One way or the other, this Albuquerque landmark is the place to go!
This place was awesome, when you enter this store you are blasted away of how many choices you get to choose from, even Hisenburg meth / candy rocks from breaking bad, the taste of this Hisenburg meth candy is like a sweet minty cough drop (if you put it in a good way) and you can get a picture of a tray of Breaking bad meth candy with Walter white fedora and glasses on, but I rate this place at 5 star cause the service, the product, and the welcome you get is pretty good, But Debbie Ball if you ever close I will still remember you guys and probably cry about it to be completely honest with my self 😂🤪🧪⚗️🎂🍫🍬🍭🌰😋
I had to have my boy Frank that does the #BreakingBadRVTour 🚌 meet me 4 some #BlueStuff 🔥 + I Autographed a few Headshots and snapped a few 📷's.. Gotta let the people know that your boy #Combo even though I died on 📺. I'm #BreakingBad + #BreakingGood @ same time in ABQ, NM! We had just cooked a fresh batch of the 🍬 #SweetStuff! Lol.. #RodneyRush
The candy is amazing. Get more than just Breaking Bad meth. The pinon logs and fudge are amazing. Don't leave without some peanut butter treats.
There are so many kinds of candy here! And all of them good! Try the divinity it's incredible! There's lots of stuff related to breaking bad and they have funny adult novelty candy and cookies as well.
Unnecessary X rated items in a candy store!!!!?
The nicest staff ever and the candy is always fantastic!! And if your over 18 they got their X rated candy for some fun with friends!
Breaking Bad candy and fun props like aprons. Funny x-rated candies. Friendly service.
Very cool novelty candy shop with ties to Breaking Bad. The workers were accommodating to fun photo opportunities and helpful in selecting sweets.
I LOVE THIS PLACE AND ALL THE CANDY! It's worth paying for parking at Old Town, it's worth walking all over to find it, worth fighting thr crowd! Seriously you won't find better homemade candy!
Amazing candy.
*Parents* - be fore warned, there is an 18+ section that is not very well hidden and children have easy access too. If that was not present, my raiding would be 5*****'s!
Great experience of not just getting some of the "Breaking Bad Candy", but the owner makes you feel so very welcome with photos, stories and more
Always so much fun to see the adult candy section. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit if you're in old town.
Loved our visit with Debbie and her staff. Great chocolate covered everything and of course authentic blue meth (rock candy)
Breaking Bad. Fake meth candy. Delicious.
Good selection of fudge, gummi and hard candies. But not much else. If you're a fan of "Breaking Bad" be sure to get a bag of "prop" meth.
Very welcoming and hospitable. Must see attraction in Old Town Albuquerque!
Great place for breaking bad fans and for ppl who want to buy a genitalias maden out if candy. Prices on Breaking bad souvenurs are way too high.
This is the place where the "blue meth" for the Breaking Bad show was manufactured. In this candy shop you can buy these blue crystals made of sugar as a souvenir.
Other than that, it is a regular candy shop.
Always a great experience when I visit. Quality candy and great service. Good selection of Breaking Bad meth candy and clothes
Come here every year for the holidays when I visit my grandparents. My favorite place in the world. So many special memories. Thank you so much for the hospitality.

Staff was super nice and helpful. All kinds of yummy candy. The meth lab was a blast!
I always have a good time going into the store. I've never had any negative interactions with anyone in the store. The staff is friendly.

It's a must see for anyone visiting Old Town Albequerque. You won't walk out empty handed!
Neat candy and fudge shop in Old Town. They really play up the fact that they made the meth props for Breaking Bad. The staff is very friendly.
Came here for Breaking Bad and it's very nice! The workers are friendly and lots of cool chocolates, candies, and merchandise
Pretty interesting array of candies. She has samples for the fudge. She also has water and various flavors of sour hard candies.

Amazing handmade chocolates and fudge. My favorites are the red chile truffles and the red chile fudge. Such a great local treasure.
Great lil mom and pops candy store. Had some really cool flavors and options to choose from
It's a cute place just next to the city center, worth to see. They make delicious candy too :)
I have to be honest, I'm not much of a fudge person but this might change my mind. Smoother and somehow not overly sweet. Lots of other homemade candy like Pinon brittle.
She makes delicious candy also is the lady that made the original rock candy (blue crystal meth) for breaking bad on the first season
Candy Lady was very helpful with choices of candy, a few samples and a good ideas on someplace for lunch.
The store is crowded, candy selection is limited, and the prices are steep. Of course, this place was featured in Breaking Bad so what do you expect?

The candy is fine, but the lady at the counter was surprised that we moved to the area. She kept talking about how awful it is to live here.
