Reviews of Brandywine Creek State Park
Victoria Vaden
Beautiful state park that majority of Delawareans do not even know existed. I haven’t been here in nearly 10 years, and I’m so glad that it looks the exact same as I remembered. Still clean, well maintained, and not overly crowded. It’s a massive park, but it feels like you have the entire park to yourself since there is so much nature to consume and take in.
Nancy Barrios
I really like to walk so going to that park is very comfortable, it's huge and beautiful. it has a garden where I always take photos when I go. I think that after 5pm it is better to leave the park, the last time I went there were suspicious people who were not to be trusted
Kathy Toomey
Tranquil & beautiful. The paved and unpaved paths offer a variety of different walking/hiking/biking/ running experiences. The beautiful Brandywine River is always glistening in the sun. I love this place.
Kim Galloway
Great place to take the family and get a lot of exercise. And it's a perfect place for a picnic lunch as well. We really enjoyed walking along the river and seeing some really interesting trees!
Zoraida Rivera
It was a beautiful 50 degree day. I didn't get a chance to explore the whole trail but will definitely come back and try it again.
Walter Graham
So many trails and places to see and hike. Big Sledding hill in the winter.
Saw a bald eagle fishing the creek.
Easy parking and some picnic tables.
Worth the visit. Also walked miles along the trails by the Brandywine River. People rafting and others fishing. A couple cool picnic grounds with grills.
Valerie S.
Very relaxing and beautiful park to visit. We especially enjoyed the little pollinater garden with loads of bees and butterflies. Convenient parking. Plan to pack your trash too please!
Marcella Echols
Went to visit in preparation for my daughter's baby shower. It is beautiful and our space is perfect!!
Kristina Flathers
Beautiful park with multiple trail options for running or walking. Includes a large ar a for hawk watching. Picnic tables spread throughout the trail head area, lots of room to play or just enjoy the day. Includes a disc golf area as well.
Patti Plaster
Took our chairs and sat in the creek. Beautiful sunny day.
Good hiking and biker trails.
Frank Barna
Beautiful place for an easy hike. The fall foliage was awesome.
Sherin Joy
This is an awesome preserve with full of greenery. The park offers a network of trails for walking or hiking around deep wooded areas and wetlands.
Beautiful views, of waterways, and wild birds. The trails are well maintained and easy to follow. A peaceful place to appreciate nature
Great for picnic, hiking, biking and jogging.
The garden here is beautiful with common flowers. It’s one of the best hot weather hikes in Delaware. This is a peaceful and less disturbed forest area, 933 acre preserve with trails all around. The hidden pond trail is great with lots of greenery’s, it’s a trail with shade and nice river with clean and fresh water but, just beware of spiders 🕷 and mosquitoes🧐.
*Covid 19: they follow a wear mask on trails policy, but lots of people don’t but it’s spacious enough that you can avoid close contact.
* Fee: $4 for in state registered vehicles and $8 for others. The parking is a bit limited.
We had a great weekend coming here!!😍
Mat Woods
Walking here for over 50 years and it still is beautiful, however, creation of the national park has introduced more foot and bike traffic and much more meddling with the environment. I saw trees 'trimmed' needlessly with many, many others cut down and removed. I saw a sign right along the river that announced that visitors and pets should stay on the paths because of pesticide treatments applied to protect the 'scenic view-scape'. That is disgusting to me.
Jenn Boyle
Great place to hike around! Good for kids and dogs. I do suggest some solid supportive shoes as parts of the trails are covered in large rocks, easy way to sprain an ankle if your not careful. The river was pretty, water was super clear.
Jason M
One of the largest state parks in New Castle County. Plenty of walking trails and an informative nature center. Also plenty of wildlife viewing including birds of prey, foxes, deer, and raccoons.
Thom Peters
May be my favorite spot in the world. Open fields, solitary trees, wooded trails, river, views…
Mohammad Hassan
Great place for hiking and also mountain biking. Very well maintained. Parking space is also very impressive. They have a parking fee. For residents of Delaware it’s just $4 and for outsiders $8
If you like to enjoy some romantic time with your partner or a family outing, this is a great choice. I’ve seen couple getting married here.
Rex Michael Dillon
Wonderful trails in any season. Also consider water float via tube, kayak, canoe or paddle board for a new perspective. Parking is extremely limited, recommend weekday instead of weekends.
Jen Dimov
This is one of the nicest parks I have had the privilege of visiting! Every time I am here I am gently re-surprised by how well-maintained the paths are, how friendly and knowledgeable the staff are, what interestingly unique programs get put on, etc. Wish I lived closer.
Lily Dang
Beautiful and well kept state park! It's actually a part of the First State National Historical Park in the NPS system. Their visitor center has the national park passport stamps, just ask the employee, they keep the stamps behind the counter. Lots of wide open land to hike around in and they even have a very well cut and maintained disc golf course! Didn't get a chance to play disc golf here but it looks like an excellent course to play on with the slight changes in terrain. Also very close to Winterthur.
Kelly Doran
Some trails aren't clearly marked, and the map that you see on the park website actually has more trails marked on it than the map you get at the office.
Wonderful park regardless. Out of state parking was $8, you have to get an envelope and pull the receipt off and stick it in your window. Trails were mildly busy for a warm spring day. We and our dogs loved it.
Don Brovero
Need a place to get back to nature and go for a great hike, this is the place. The trails are very secluded but also well maintained. There are both challenging trails, very hill and others that are flat. A lot of parking lots.
Deniz Tezcan
Wonderful park. Huge 900+ acres. Nice science center. Great big hill and massive woods with many trails. Leads to the edge of the Brandywine river with views of the mill. Great old stone walls go all throughout the park.
Kevin Costa
Great trails, a cultural center, beautiful scenery. A perfect place to hike, run, barbecue, hang out with the family, birdwatch, you name it. Whether you love the outdoors or not, this is a great park.
Anna Gjertsen
Absolutely gorgeous place to hike, but not all trails are well marked. Using the AllTrails app is very helpful in staying on track though :) All in all, a lovely place to spend the day and enjoy the beautiful Brandywine Creek.
Will S
Excellent trails for walking, running or biking throughout the park. We enjoyed the main trail that runs next to the water. Fabulous scenery with very tall old trees and a nice stone bridge that crosses the river. The park used to be a farm owned by DuPont I believe I read on a sign there.
Eye of the Beholder
Very clean, could maybe use a trim around the picnic tables. Grass was really high and couldnt really grill and enjoy because the grass was annoyingly long. Other than that i loved the scenery and our family enjoyed our walk.
Phone Kid
Great, but on the tulip tree trail there are a lot of stones. The photos are not on the trailhead.
Jeremy Melendez
One of my favorite spots to be. I always come here for walks, relax and think about things. Always worth the drive usually there is not many people in the area. Family also loves this spot. Advice always check online if the park is opened or not.
GOVIND N
This park beautiful and has nature filled bike and run trails.I would definitely recommend this place for someone who wants a break from regular busy routines.
Daniel Becker
Adams Dam Rd entrance: (pictures) beautiful rolling landscape and trails. Picturesque rock border walls and fields. Beautiful, serene, open. No river
Thompson Bridge Rd entrance: right along the river. Wading, picnicking, fishing, trails, also picturesque but much less open.
Mariya Pankratova
Picturesque place with good infrastructure for biking, walking, trailing, and simply contemplating the beauties of nature. It’s more like plain, not rocky, what is good for riding a bike. Enjoyed the place and definitely will come back!
Maitland K
Beautiful place for every occasion. Nice long trails. I would not recommend for people who like paved trails. Great for mountain biking and fishing. These trails interconnect to many other trails so be sure to pay attention where you are.
Remi van Riet
Nice piece of nature to go for a little hike/walk, bike ride, or do some kayaking. It's hilly, and has easier and more difficult tracks for biking and walking. You do have to pay a 4 dollar fee to park your car at the official parking though..
michael rojas
We had a great time walking the trails here. It was such a beautiful day. We got a chance to go down to the creek, my boys loved just throwing rocks in the stream. Once the trees come into full bloom it will be that much more of a jewel. We love our Delaware state parks. It's so worth the membership fee.
Joymalya Banerjee
Nice park with walking trails in the midst of natural surroundings.
Dallas
Absolutely beautiful!! Taken care of, plenty of space, trails, and picnic tables in certain areas.
Jason Miles
Is it worth the $8 entrance fee for out of state visitors? Maybe one time. Is it worth is on a repeat visit? Nope! Plus they were out of maps at 930 am. Really? Trails were ok. Not much picture worthy atmosphere.
1ofakyn Ruiz
Beautiful scenery. Multiple trail options. To pay to park sucks, but well worth the view.
Person Place “Savage Disregard” Thing
Great adventure not far from home. Peace and quiet except for what nature provides us with acoustically. Geocaching day in the park
Matt Simon
Beautiful park. Stunning vistas in the fall. Really nice disc golf course as well
Mike
Great park not to far from my home. I can't wait to get out there more and shred the mountain bike trails. There are quite a few. And let me stress one more thing. Buy the DE state park sticker for your car. It's worth it. Dont be a scum bag and do everything you can to not buy one. Like parking in the street and walking into the park. That money goes into maintaining the parks. There I said my piece. Now go have some state park fun you kooks!
Riya Acharya
My family loves this park. It is such a big park with lush green landscapes and trees. Our children loves to visit this park in summers and their pumpkins events during November are attractions too. Great for arranging picnics and bringing group of kids they have many picnics tables set under the roof. If you are lucky enough you get to see some deers around. Perfect Nature's beauty.
Gary Griffith
This is a Delaware treasure. It is a beautiful park with picnicking, a nature center, hawk watch, and miles of trails of varying levels of difficulty. Convenient and easily accessed.
Mike D
Beautiful park with wonderful scenery.
If you're into Frisbee Golf, you'll definitely like this park.
Dan cocco
Beautiful park on both sides of the Brandywine Creek
Jay Lynch
This another of Delaware's great parks.
Brandywine is known for its meadowlands and blue gneiss stone walls that were built in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The walls were used to mark property lines when the land supported an agricultural industry. Another industry that took place was milling along the park’s creek.
It has more than 14 miles of trail and an old-growth forest. It has four Nature Preserves - Flint Woods, the Carney Tract, Tulip Tree Woods and FreshWater Marsh. The meadows are full of pollinators, ground nesting birds and rare native plants that you can see by taking a walk through the pollinator garden. American Kestrels, Blue Birds and Eastern Meadowlark are common sights.
The park maintains trails for fitness, wildlife observation, and photography. I took some excellent photographs during my multiple visits. The meadows are excellent for picnics, kite flying, and disc golf, and in the winter, for sledding and cross-country skiing.
Wilson's run is stocked annually, so anglers (with the proper license) can fish for small mouth bass, bluegill, and crappie in the Creek, and for trout in Wilson’s Run You can canoe, kayak and go tubing. Canoeing is offered through the park's interpretive programs, and local places rent out canoes, kayaks and tubes.
This another must visit for tourists, park lovers and Delaware residents. My family has been visiting the park for over 18 years and are still enjoying it.
There are many events to attend. Go the park's website and you can register for them or add the ones you're interested in to your calendar as a reminder.
Get the Annual Park Pass. It's inexpensive and will save you money on your many trips to all of Delaware's State Parks.

Nicole Byers
Great park with pretty up-to-date maps. I downloaded the map before going, but I was almost the same as the one posted at the trailhead. Very well maintained.
Dan Fields (The Ride Abides)
Great park for hiking and definitely mountain biking. Trails aren't really marked so go with someone who knows their way. Some really fun and challenging rock gardens, steep technical climbs, jump lines and plenty of flow. Something for everyone!
Dulce Pantoja fernandez
Absolutely clean and friendly place to picnic and hang out with family. Its great how everyone takes their own trash along with them for the safety or our environment and to keep the park clean also. Great outdoor place to recomend. Thumbs up!!!
Suman Chakrabarty
Great place to go hike or to sit in one of the seats by the parking lot overlooking at Nature! Plan to use bug spray before hand if you wanna walk through the woods. It's overall gorgeous 5/5!
Andrew Rossetti
Great park, multiple trails, all day fun!
Rudolf Tallo
Beautiful place. Fishing, walking or playing Frisbee or grilling. Everything possible.
samia zaman
Beautiful scenery. Love to visit all year round. Hiking trails and just sometime to relax.
Robert Alfieri
I went the day after the Hurricane. The Riverside trails were flooded but slowly and carefully passably
William Earl
First time there, lived the area. Both improved and rugged trails. Beautiful creeks, trees, wildlife
M C
Beautiful park with very knowledgeable staff. Trash cans never overflowing and visitors seem friendly. Pretty interesting frisbee course along with stream running through it. No playground for kids. But, definitely worth the stop if you have nothing to do for the day or just feel like getting out in the fresh air.
Janet Sadriu
Great place to hike, relax and/or cook out. Only $4 per car, excellent deal!
HY Tang
Nice park, lots of trails, but parking is a little limited.
Gargee Chowdhury
The place is a good option for hiking and walking.Nice and scenic
Emily Guo
I was looking for an easy hike with small children. This was perfect! We took the Hidden Pond trail and I loved that is was a loop, and went right by the creek which was a fun stopping point.
3v3lynd4
No so much to do, only hiking and it is not very clear the paths.
Nate Wooding
Overall a very nice place with some serious old growth. Great resource to have so close to Wilmington.
Patience A
Really nice. Enjoyed the trails.
Brian Wishnefsky
Breathtaking views. Especially this time of year!
Schaeffer Stark
Super clean park with a paved trail and some off-road ones too. Definitely a great place to start if you want to dip your toes into hiking/nature walks. The creek also really adds to the peacefulness of the area. Definitely nice for running, biking, a picnic and so on.
Rinkle Sangoi
This is a lovely park the only down side is not a proper restroom area.
Samantha C.
Beautiful park, the trails can be a bit treacherous on the ankles with all the loose rocks. Make sure to wear proper foot wear
Charlene Cannavo
Awesome walk. Only downside is the trail on opposite side of parking area is overgrown in some areas so had to turn back. Was really looking forward to doing the entire loop.
John-Alan Roe
Beautiful scenery and great trails. Couldn't ask for more out of a State Park.
Taya Dianna
Beautiful setting at the hawk's watch for a simple civil elopement with Altared Vows by Taya #elopement #deweddings #delawareweddings #altaredvows
john hughes
Great place to take a walk, hike or bike..plus fishing!!
John Otterson
It's really 2 parks in one with Brandywine Creek bisecting the park. One side has rolling hills, open pastures, and thick woods while the other runs along the creek with steep, wooded hills to one side.
Stuart DuHadaway
Excellent place for a walk, especially with a dog. The old growth Forrest can be found near the visitor center. The trails are clearly marked and most of them will take you down to Brandywine creek. The downhill view from the parking lot is enjoyable even if you only have a short amount of light after work.
Jurassic Jordan
One of my favorite parks in the area well maintained and so many trails
Maryann McConnell
Love the park but wish they would fix the water dispenser for the dogs near the Nature Center parking lot. It's been broken since this season opened and there is no water bowl outside either. This is not the case at Bellevue State Park
Sonji Green
It's a beautiful state park.
Bob Hegman
Well maintained public park, staple disc golf course for northern Delaware. The trail system is awesome and the disc golf is fun for big arms, plenty of room to let it fly. Watch out for the wind!
EarthAngel De
Very nice! The park is very spacious and there is a creek near by where you can bring the kids to swim in during the summer! I also enjoyed watching some people play Frisbee the correct way!
Lester Evans
Beautiful scenery, great view and peaceful silence.
Brett Skipper
Brandywine Creek State Park is a Gem in Northern Delaware. Nestled in the middle of North Wilmington the trails take you off the beaten path so that you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. We highly recommend it!
Paul Anderson
Nice place to enjoy lunch. Picnic tables all over with views for miles.
Robert Fries
Great park, trails are well maintained
Cultured Punk
One of the toughest disc golf courses due to the hill. You constantly have to walk up and down it. I loved it and hated it at the same time
Vishal N Bhatia
We visited it during Memorial Day weekend. Awesome park! But it’s picnic tables were a bit dirty and had insects on them. This State park has a lot of greenery and is good for hiking, biking and walking or jogging. It has many open fields and it is quite a wide spread area with less people. The trails are missing markings hence you would get lost and move in circles; google map helps you get to parking bay!!
Parking fees have started, $4 for state registered vehicle and $8 for out of state vehicles. There are multiple parking bays around the park.
Overall, we had a great time in the park as it was less crowded and loads of greenery.
Park is open for trails from sunrise to sunset.
D Harder
Easy well maintained trails. Great for leisurely strolls.
Adam Seely
Love this park! The grounds are beautiful, great views, wonderful staff and the Owl Prowls and Star Gazing events are terrific!
Avan Patel
Amazing park, I love the quietness and calmness.
Great place to go with family or by yourself and spend hours enjoying the nature.
Always get the season pass of the state park, Delaware has the best state parks.
James Knight
Some of the best mountain biking for miles. A real gem
barry gillen
The Brandywine State Park is a nice place to walk in the afternoon.
Richard Bunten
Nice State Park. Good place to take a day hike.
Stephanie Artist
Outside of a few bugs near the water, this was a great place to BBQ. Some even had picnics, went tubing, or did kayaking. There's also a trail for walking, hiking, or biking.
VISHAKH L
Awesome place to relax. Calm & super-clean
James Kading Jr
Beautiful area to visit in the fall!
Dustin Prince
I've been going there for years. Disc golf course is amazing. Fishing, grilling, picnics and just pure nature is among beautiful landscape and views. If you ever get a chance to see the night sky from the hill tops, you'll enjoy scenes of stars in the awesome galaxy of outer space.
Kevin Aull
So many trails to find and walk around on. Set so perfectly around the Brandywine Park and Alapocas run
Dawood Leeson (Abu Tasneem)
My family and I really enjoy this park. The Hidden Pond Trail is especially pleasant, with many scenery changes and various focal points of interest along the paths.
We do however hate the excessively large and poorly places rocks, stones, and bricks (yes, even red household bricks) that line the path.
It is very difficult to hike the main trail down to the creek, unless you take another route, like the Hidden Pond Trail.
I don't ride mountain bikes, but it's possible that this large main trail may favor them over just daily walks and hike.
And, I have only been here twice. I will update my review as needed, after future visits.
Jen Chou
Very comfortable walk, without much elevation. Many different trails to follow. Parking fee is required and out of state parking is $8 which is a bit expensive if only staying for a shorter duration.
Jonathan Kerr
Very nice place to hike.
VGK Podium
It's calm and peaceful. The roads that go through and around the park are used pretty regularly especially during rush hour. Even the heavily used roads can get pretty quite and seemingly desolate. Be careful, especially if not familiar with the roads. Some roads are pretty winding and have blind turns. Additionally, there are minimal areas to truly pull off the road if you may be a little turned around. Don't worry, quite a number of the roads are interconnected or relatively parallel. Enjoy the scenery. There are a lot of areas to explore and/or simply use to relax. There are lots of cross country races. Archery/Crossbow deer hunting is available when the season comes around. If you love to fish or find it a way to relax, there are plenty of areas to do so. Furthermore, if you want to go for a hike, there are a great deal of hiking trails as well as nature hikes. Try to bring an adventure buddy with you to watch your back. This park is far larger than you imagine.
Eric Swanson
A very nice park to enjoy the fresh air and the frequent wild life. The park has multiple environments to enjoy, from woods trails to fields and streams and riverbank. Truly a joy for young people.
Raymond Ellis
I really enjoyed the park. I started out near the Park Office and took the trail over to Thompsons Bridge. Form there I went down the Brandywine Trail to the Rockland Parking Lot Area. From there, I got on the Cross Country Course and got back to the office. There were alot of interesting trees and boulders along the way. The views of the Brandywine were also nice. The numerous stone walls along the way were also interesting.
Revella Leif
Great park to visit, plenty of parking. One thing that is unfortunate is that littering had gone up in the last two years. The park family oriented and creek fun for tubing which you see a lot of. A Lot of flooding lately with the weather changing. Almost didn't make it there last week because there was so much flooding along the roads to get there. Landenburg roads were closed off to the park, so ended up at Brandywine.
T Bowie
Very beautiful. The trails can get very tactical and runners must remain aware of sharing the narrow pathways with bikes. Many trails aren't marked, and if you aren't familiar with the park you may get a little turned around at times.
Kevin Sweeney
There's a very nicely maintained trail system here. Mostly single track with a couple of gravel, multi-use trails.
You can easily get a 15 mile loop in here without hitting the same trail twice.
Lots of different trail heads to park at. Some are paid lots and some are business lots.
Plenty of options and plenty of variety as long as you like rocks and roots and technical terrain.
Brandywine Bikes is just a few miles away in case you need a rental or a repair.
Enjoy!
Luke Fresconi
A great park if you like to take a walk in the woods and let your kids dip into a calm creek. Decent amount of elevation changes if you want to get your heart rate up on a brisk hike. My six and ten year old were able to make it without belly aching too much.
Michael W. J. West
Nice park, with a sledding and hawk watch hill on the right as you go in the main entrance to the office and small nature exhibits. Some picnic locations around there, and across the Brandywine Creek at Thompson's Bridge. Much of the park can be enjoyed with moderate hiking.
Rick Phelps
I stopped by to find some geocaches. This is a great place to hike. Nice trails, well marked. Very clean and we'll kept. Various places to park. There is a fee most of the year. Cool seeing the Mason Dixon sites. There are some elevation gains on some trails which is surprising for Delaware.
Tracey Dobosz
Beautiful park very nice trails so much fun clean cant wait to go back
Larry
Beautiful scenery great for walks and taking breath taking pictures
Mike Sniadecki
Such a beautiful landscape! Easy to get lost in the beauty of it! Just if you go on the trail(s) be sure to wear bug/tick repellent!
Neil Douen Realtor
Trails are awesome...water is clean.
Sarah Kelli
Great small park with walking trails. Most trails are through woods with rocks and roots with a few trails going through lowland and fields. Trails drain pretty well with only a few getting muddy. There are walks through fields, woods, and along the river. Great picnic park (there are facilities and benches) with rolling hills. It's great and easy for families and kids too, just don't expect to use a stroller.
oolvera854
They pave all the way is great for running, jogging etc.
Thomas Platt
A great Park to hike around . many trails of various grades to hike, jog, mountain bike or even horseback ride. With the adjoining First State National Park that goes into PA, there is infinite amount of trails to enjoy mother nature!
Ben Woodworth
Love this park. I don't live in the area anymore but I had to write a review. Lots of great mountain bike trails. Canoeing or just floating the Brandywine in a tube is always a good time. I'm not sure if they're still there but there were a couple awesome rope swings back in the day.
Shridhar Dighe
Great trails specially for kids (5+)
Praswin Prakash
This place is awesome for nature trails and hikes for people in and around Wilmington in Delaware. There are plenty of places and terrains to explore and dense forested areas to hike through. There are several benches along the creek for resting or for picnics. Finding the right spot to park was a bit tricky at first but the park was worth it. There are several trails here that can be explored. You can find open grassy areas too where horse carriages etc ride, giving the whole place a good vibe.
Marty
Nice place to get a little exercise while still practicing social distancing. You can walk or bike on your choice of paved paths or rock and dirt trails. The creek was clear as glass, some early flowers were in bloom and the crowd was sparse.
Lawrence Rubin
A very beautiful out-of-the-way Park in northern Delaware. Scenery is very nice and the place is generally very quiet. A good place for contemplative activities and to get away from it all being only a mile or two from North Wilmington. This place is so well hidden that most people from Wilmington don't even know it exists and yet it is no more than a 10 minute drive from the Concord Mall which is a hub of activity for northern Delaware. It seems so large and yet it is actually fairly small. I recommend residents of North Wilmington to visit it during the summer.
Sonja Staples
Very nice jogging or biking path. Leashes dogs allowed, very clean and pretty trail that runs along the brandywine, very well kept, no park fees in the off season, yay! You can stay along the paved path or go nature adventuring into dirt paths closer to the river.
Rebecca Riordan
We attended the First Day hike and the trails are in good condition. There is a nice nature center. Adequate parking. Looks like they have great year round & summer programs for all ages.
Stephen Bell
Large Park and well maintained. Too bad they keep extending the period of time you have to PAY$ entrance fees! What gives with that? Used to be memorial day to labor day. Now it is November!!! Not right at all. If you are Delaware resident it should be no charge in my opinion.
Alisa Oswalt
We took a walk starting from the Nature Center Trail, down to view Hidden Pond Loop. It was about a 45-minute shaded, relatively easy walk, with just a little uphill and downhill. There were access areas to the Brandywine Creek too.
Melanie Blatt
Used All Trails to find the 5 mile Brandywine Creek Trail. It looped us along the creek so we enjoyed it on the way there and the way back. Toward the beginning of the trail, we were on the side of a road with no sidewalk, just a worn down, eroding path that was pretty dangerous. Other than that 1/4 mile stretch, it was a nice trail.
Mike Schneider
Has frisbee golf course and walking trails setup. Pretty nice grounds. Between March to September I believe it is there are fees to get in. It’s $8 for an out of state vehicle. Entrances being clearly marked and some maps of the park would be really helpful.
Jer Del
This park is one of my favorites in the entire tri-state area and offers beautiful scenery, a diverse wildlife of birds, reptiles, and fish. There are Scenic trails along the Brandywine River or deeper into the woods if you prefer. There's also rolling landscapes and Hills that are perfect for family functions or just taking a moment to yourself. A must-see it in the area!
Rebekah
Love this huge park with a cozy indoor nature center. Multiple picnic areas and a covered pavilion. Lacks a gender-neutral bathroom. Trails are well-maintained. Check out the calendar; they have TONS of events like bird-watching, kite-making, orienteering, and family events for nearly every holiday!
Siddarth Gautam
Great spot to check out fall colors!
Rose Duonnolo
We had a small family reunion here. It was very nice and peaceful. Definitely a nice quiet place to be. We were on the picnic side to the right of the park.
A O
Great spot for photos if you're a photographer! Also, a great spot for a picnic date with your loved one.
Until 4PM $8 fee for out-of-state vehicles & $5 fee for DE vehicles, but after 4PM it's free.
Carlos Hernandez
Beautiful spot for a nice hike
Techi “Killari”
We stopped briefly at Brandywine Creek state park. There is plenty of parking by the lot at Hawk Watch. Nice walking trails. Flushing toilets and porta potties available. We saw lots of families picnicking.
Barry Zias
Nice place to walk along a stream. Good uphill path available if you want to get your heart rate up. You can walk or bike for several miles to get a good workout. Near the town but quiet and secluded. Portapots available.
Trey Andrew
Nice chill trails for biking / walking/running/ horse back riding? etc 4.5/5 if I could do decimals
Crystal Snow
What a great trout fishing spot, was able to get my limit of six in a hour and a half. Also met a couple of young guys that gave me some dough bait tips. Great get away.
Kara Gery
Beautiful walking trail.
Tashina
Love this place. You can picnic on the banks of the river then dip in to cool off. We always being the dogs and let them get in the water and hike. You can bring water shoes or tubes and makes your way down the river. Beautiful scenery. Just pay for parking.
L
Great place to go with your dog, there's many trails and the one I went on had a nice creek my dog could frolic on. Definitely will go again.
Sarah Pyle
Great place for a hike, a dip in the water, bird and nature watching, geocache and then you can sum up the day with beautiful sunset views.
Justin Rathmanner
I can only speak on the disc golf course, but it's good. All decent distance, mostly field pins, with wildly varying elevation. Bring water especially on the sunny days
Brian Skuzinski
We have stopped here on a number of occasions. As Pennsylvania residents we must pay a couple dollars to visit the park every time we come. One of the times we have visited was when we used this park as a destination for a six hour kayak ride down the Brandywine Creek. This proved to be a great destination for this type of trip. There are places to walk, picnic tables to eat at and plenty of shady grassy areas to throw a picnic blanket. This place is a flood plane, so expect a well saturated ground after a rain. You can not camp here.
Johnathan Carter
Great walking trails, by Brandywine Creek, and in the woods. Walking these trails is like walking in the footsteps of Andrew Wyeth, and there are the foundations of farm outbuildings and houses, and one trail will take you to the Ramsey's Farm area. Spiritual experience.
Dan Rio
Always love Brandywine for hiking and biking
Jess Wilson
Very nice place for a relaxing walk.
William Goodyear
Great place to cool down during the summer and the mountain bike trails are nice
Troy Nickel
I love the trails in this park and surrounding areas. Perfect trail running...if your able to pay attention to lots of good rocks and roots. So fun.
Larry Stehlik
Went there to sketch and paint. I absolutely loved the black stone fences. I would love to come back earlier in the fall or in the spring. Went there with my dear daughter while she walked the trails.
Fadhl A
Beautiful park with amazing scenery!
Lars Hindsley (Lars)
Rolling hills. Always used, but perhaps too much open space for some who may want to feel as if they are getting away from it all. The disc course is for string arms. The long range pars are tough to articulate. A conservative approach makes for dull multiple mud range aggregates..
Thomas Platt
A wide open area in northern Delaware that has numerous trails, 95% unpaved. It is attached to National Historal lands which also has many trails to follow. Can be muddy at times. Most trails on hilly terrain, while quite a few one needs to cross creeks and rocks. A great getaway from everyday life. If going there, I would suggest getting the statewide Delaware State Park Pass.
Will Alexander (Sturo)
Great park for walking, jogging, or biking. $4 fee for DE residents and $8 for out of towners during peak months. Plenty of beautiful spots to stop and enjoy nature.
Lowboy 76
It's a great park with some incredible views and a fun and challenging disc golf course
Chris Meade
Great scenery lots of birds to watch
Michelle “ShilohLauren” Racicot
awesome park, expensive though for what it offers. as long as im not paying ill always go. it should come w a bit more for the $8 out of state and $4 in state. a map would be nice, maybe id appreciate it more. there is a creek but the only way i know how to get to it is by trucking though the woods and finding a random path that takes u to the creek then finding some path to get down to the water ... glad i brought my dog or id never get to the water or get back to my car.
Tina McGriff
Have gone there since I was a child, always loved it. The trails are clean the views are amazing and summer time the water is great to float down with some friends
Sharon Kinney
It's an OK place to have a picnic or just enjoy nature. The draw here are the ball fields and the picnic pavilions. There is a nice play area for kids and a basketball court.
Steve Hart
Brandywine Creek State Park is a beautiful park with VERY limited access and parking. They clearly only want a small number of the public using this public resource.
Yesterday, July 4th, was hot, a holiday and I'm one sure one of their busier days. Cops were everywhere. Driving around with bullhorns telling everyone parked on the sides of the roads (because the few spots the park offers were occupied) they would be ticketed and possibly towed. Nice. By my estimate, there were 7 or 8 visitors for every available parking space.
Sujesh Menon
The pavilion is an awesome place to book for get togethers. It's at a higher altitude and overlooks lot of greenery. Beautiful place.
Mas Sar
Steeped trails with nice view. There are some trails that are not steep as well as picnic area .
Frederick VanHesling
Lots of hills, perfect for watching sunset. Well marked with street signs to find the entrance. Disc golf range is challenging. Picnic tables with grills available.
Aaron A. Wallace
A great park containing some of the oldest nature preserves in the state: Tulip Tree woods, Freshwater Marsh. It also encompasses Flint woods. Miles of day hiking loops, disc golfing, a challenging cross country track and picnic facilities await the visitor. A nature center provides activities and organizes a summer camp. In-state and out-of-state usage fees.
Michael Banbury
Awesome local state park for hiking, walking and even picnicking. They also have disc golf for those who are interested in it. It is never very crowded and always serene.
speedknob

AshAragam2000
Nice trails however poorly marked. Sucks that you have to pay entrance fee compared to PA state parks. Will go back for star gazing one of these days.
John Chaney
Great park for hiking, biking, disc golf, birding, photograhy... Park office has easy access with clean restrooms. Large public parking lot.
Debbie Wheeler
Nice trails, & picnic table areas. Toilets were closed, so they had three spot-a-pots. They were clean, but no sanitizer.
Sean McGonegal
Excellent park with picnic pavilions, challenging disc golf course, and plenty of trails.

We went to the creek for the day and had a wonderful time swimming. Despite it being a holiday weekend we were able to find parking, and the beach had port a potties, small grills, and picnic tables.
