What a fantastic concept! This place is truly an experience. Equipped with a full service salon, kids obstacle/trampoline course, ice rink, rock climbing, golf, waterpark, eatery, etc., this is truly a gem for the entire family! Memberships or timed admissions are available (could have other options but these are what I can remember). Plan to spend an entire day here with all the options available. Overall establishment is well-kept and clean. Bathrooms located in the Super, Awesome & Amazing vicinity can use a little TLC (routine cleaning throughout the day).

Pretty impressive setup. Took a tour and way more than what meets the eye. The memberships are a bit pricey and could stand some adjustments. The entry fee for each event is pricey, but it seems like a good time so worth it for the occasional visit. For those without gym access it's a great deal monthly if you will come 4 or more days a week. The food area was very impressive as well as the kid area. Oh everything is timed and they are adamant about the time.

The st. James Sports is a very awesome place. I went to this place in Springfield VA. with my kids and we had so much fun. They have many options gym, kids games, VR and online gaming, football stadium, water park, etc. As far as I realized food are restricted in many areas. Also, prices differ depending on how many hours you want to stay. However, this place offers membership. Also, the water park has different open days than the gym and the game places. So check their website. I couldn't buy tickets online so you have to call to reserve tickets. Very friendly staff. I recommend this place for family fun and birthday parties.

A phenomenal facility to say the least! Our DC HBCU Alliance 5K was hosted here and I was truly impressed. Ample parking and the building exterior is beautiful but when you enter you see the gem that it truly is - areas for lacrosse, batting, wall climbing, weight and cardio training, saw there’s a water park as well as kid friendly areas as well. There were areas to shop with athletic gear including shoes plus a nice eatery. I’d love to come back on my own time and really experience The St. James for all it had to offer!

Phenomenal Facilities Back ground Music in Super Awesome and few sites including gymnastic classes need better selection for younger kids - mostly very loud raps and hip-hops which seems that it goes by staff’s taste, the staff instructors sometimes dancing on hip-hop rhythms while class is ongoing, which is unprofessional. I seldom take my kids to Super Awesome because of back ground music being too loud. It’s like adult club music. When my kid screamed for a help one time I could not hear and that made me nervous since. - needs standardized guidance selecting back ground music and volume considering toddlers and young kids. Please show professionalism while teaching kids. They copy everything what they see.

It’s massive!! Everything from golf, swimming pool, basketball, ice hockey, football, restaurant, indoor play area, climbing gym, to an exercise gym. It’s a membership/ daily fee facility and it was pretty busy on a Saturday when we went to Super Awesome & Amazing indoor play. There’s also pretty good wifi in the entire complex.

I'm a new member so this review is based only on my first visit on their 4th year anniversary celebration. We are so lucky to have such an incredible facility in our area. It was everything you could ask for and more. The design and decor of the place is incredible, the equipment in the weight area is top notch and all the services offered seem to nice. The place is well maintained and continues to feel like a brand new place even after 4 years. There's really something for everyone at this place, I can't wait to come back and all the amenities. Also, the way they treated current and new members as well as guests on their anniversary shows how much they care for their members.

These camps are the best! My kid loves the Ice hockey and Ultimate Sports camps. We've been going to these camps for the last 2 summers. Very safe facility. The staff is responsive to criticism. The first week in the first summer (2021?) the camp lunches were a joke. They took a lot of heat from parents and responded with much better lunches. P.S. parking was ample.

This place is AMAZING!!!! They have everything you need for whatever sport or fitness activity you are into. On site spa, massage, dining and athletic attire shopping. Everything is always clean and well maintained. Not sure how I missed getting a picture of the pool but the pool is as fabulous as the rest of the facility. Something here for everyone in the family.

This is one of the most impressive complexes I’ve ever been to. I mean seriously impressive. And for an active family with 4 kids, this may very well be our perfect life saver for the winter. Summer is still a question, but the sheer volume and quality of sports activities inside the building is incredible. It’s expensive, but I think it’s worth it.

We absolutely had a blast and fully enjoyed the water park. Although this was a great experience, I’m not thrilled with the differentiation between members and non members, as both have paid respectfully. Having member dressing rooms make, whereas non members are segregated seems unnecessary. As mentioned early, we fully enjoyed the water party. It would’ve been ideal if all slides were working accordingly. It seems like the facility is approaching the time for much needed repair. Over all, it was a great experience, and I’ll be sure you consider this as an option… along county rec centers

Wonderful facility. Horrible venue for a youth swim meet. The pool is beautiful and clean, but all the limited spectator seating is used by the competitors. Spectators are left to stand in the upper balcony, 3 or 4 feet deep and try to catch a glimpse of the swimmers. The balcony is 20 or so feet up and the temperature must be close to 90 degrees F. It was so crowded I had some concern for the younger sibling I brought along to watch.

Went here for a birthday party and it was everything we expect and more. The kids had so much fun the customer service was great and everything turned out well. At the end we decided to stop by the café to grab some actual food that wasn't pizza for the adult and everything we ordered was amazing. The food was fresh and hot and well seasoned. I'm tempted to go back just for the food for lunch.

This sports complex is fabulous. If you live close to this facility you are very lucky. It has just about everything you can imagine in the sports category from ice hockey to indoor football to basketball to volleyball. The place is also kept very clean.and has tons of parking. I wish it would have some EV charging stations. Visited again on 12/2 and still no EV charging that I could find

This place is huge! Tons of stuff for the kids, nice facilities for adults, and tons of fun birthday options. I I had my 8 year old's birthday here, and it was really competitive with other venues if you invite 15 or more kids. The kids had a blast in the indoor water park, and it was way easier to just have everything taken care of. We will definitely be back.

Only decent gym in the area. The golds gym and anytime fitness are just kind of run down and over crowded. The equipment and cleanliness of all the areas is really top notch. The indoor basketball courts are amazing as well. It's pricy but worth it.

This place is unbelievable. First off, it's absolutely giant. It has two ice rinks, a basketball court, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, a huge pool, a gym, a restaurant, a store with athletic clothing and shoes and lots of stuff I probably didn't even see because it's so big. We were there for hockey and the locker rooms and rink were very nice. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but those who did said food was very good, but pricey.

This place is absolutely amazing. It's the largest sports complex I've ever been to. My daughter practices here a few times a week. You can actually walk around the entire place while they're practicing and get a mile out of it. There's also a restaurant where where you can hang out and do work, or watch sports. My only gripe with the place is that I wanted to buy a 1-day pass so I could work out and it was $60.

If you've never been here, prepare yourself for an overwhelming experience. When people say this place is huge, they mean it! This place is absurdly large! It has everything you'd want in a sports complex, including classes, an athletic store, kid friendly play places, an indoor water park and massive indoor playing fields. My only wish is that it wasn't so expensive to be a member here. It is pricey! But if you can afford it, it's totally worth it!

The facility is amazing. Wouid be five stars but the upkeep of some things is pretty poor. Pool, all three weigh rooms, basketball courts are fantastic. Soccer fields are dated, neeeds a refresh and clean up. The golf facility needs a lot of work, never have tees or balls, most of the screens are torn, hard to see the projection and several, big bubbles in turf makes putting impossible, the hitting mats need replaced more often, they have big holes where people hit from all the time. The last issue is the app, it's terrible. Won't let you make a reservation, I end up having to call, usually multiple times, to try to get someone at reception to answer the phone then be transferred to the golf facility to make a reservation manually. It's a beautiful facility but needs a lot of fine tuning especially on the service side and the app.

The St. James is a great facility with a lot of advantages beyond your typical gym. However, it is quite expensive and tends to be overcrowded in both the parking lots and the facility due to hosting several youth and adult sports leagues. Additionally, the rock climbing wall, which was one of the major amenities I was hoping to use when signing up in December ‘21 and told would “reopen soon”, has not been open once in the last 9 months. I have reached out several times to member services, but no one seems to have any information on why the wall is closed or when the wall will possibly reopen. Given the high membership fees, it should be expected that all advertised amenities within the facility are available to members. Update: Rock climbing wall is now open at limited times

We were there for a birthday party, this place is huge and worth exploring more! They have a trampoline area for the kids and also a sky area where you wear a harness and walk above the play area in a course. The staff was friendly and attentive. There was a bit of a mix-up for the party though, it was supposed to be a water park party from 5:30-7 but the water park closed at 6 so the kids got just 30 mins in the water area. It had many slides and looked to be lots of fun for the kids. They preferred that over the trampoline area. The food at the party was provided by the restaurant on site and it was quite good. We had pizza, Cesar salad and chips with salsa and guac. Parents could even get an alcoholic beverage if desired.

Saint James is the best fitness center I've been a member of in my entire life. It reminds me a lot of the rec center when I was in college but with much better facilities.

Awesome experience! Short but impactful story. I needed to get ready for the Reston Triathlon Sprint in June. I was recovering from an injury in April. I had literally on month to be ready and thought it was not possible. BUT, with the expert help of JD (their awesome trainer) I was not only ready for my first triathlon, I exceeded my expectations, especially in the swim. I can't recommend them more highly! Kudos to the facility and JD for being there when I needed them!

While it is overpriced, the kids loved the area. However I don’t see them going every single day, which is why we didn’t do the membership. There’s a huge trampoline, rock climbing for a different abilities, a small obstacle course, and slides which the kids can play tag with Nerf guns. For an extra charge there is a waterpark, VR room, and esports. The staff is very friendly and the place helps children build self-esteem.

Amazing facility, unlike anything in this area. Total health and wellness being offered under ONE roof. More than enough space and workout equipment. Olympic-sized pool with moveable divide. Seating for 250 at pool. Basketball courts (six, total)or cam convert to nine volleyball courts. Separate locker room facilities on each floor for men and women. Innovative use of space (members only lounge area, yoga lounge, free weight and cardio equipment located on all three levels. I like the fact that it's a health and wellness facility. There will be a medical space within the facility for physical therapy and the like. There is retail space and a restaurant. There is also an indoor waterpark that I'll be open from 9 AM to 9 PM for kids. All spaces to work out are open 24 hours, except for the pool, which is open from 5 AM until 12 midnight, daily.

Loved loved loved it. This is one of the best basketball indoor facilities I have been to. They actually have an indoor ice hockey rink too. They sell everything from restaurant style food to shirts and alcohol. This place is very clean and the staff are very friendly. I highly recommend this place.

This place is absolutely huge. They have just about every sport covered, including e-sports. The pool is Olympic size and they will be able to support multiple trainings are once. They have an indoor football field, eight basketball courts that also can be volleyball. They have a wing for gymnastics, and eight squash courts. You have to see it to believe it.

My son enjoyed the diversity of activities while honing his lacrosse skills throughout the day. One of the only options for kids to play sports (indoors) throughout the hottest part of the summer. Great option for niche sports camp and great atmosphere. I would love to see an early bird discount next year.

The hockey camp at the St.James was wonderful! My 12 yr. old had a great week during the on and off ice activities. Thanks to all the coaches for providing a safe, fun space to enjoy hockey for a week. The check-in and check-out process was super easy with the app. We will definitely be doing it next summer.

This place is absolutely incredible. Seriously, it'll blow your mind. I was given a tour of the complex and was simply floored by the amount of amenities that are going to be included for members. They're going to have a state-of-the-art fitness center (including a high-performance section for serious weightlifters), an olympic-sized pool, a FIFA-sized turf field, 4 basketball courts (which can be converted to volleyball courts), 2 NHL regulation-sized hockey rinks, a climbing wall, a spa, squash courts, VR golf, gymnastics center, batting cages, an entertainment center (full of VR games for families and parties), a full-service restaurant run by Top Chef winner Spike Mendelsohn, a water park and more that I can't remember. This place really is going to be the one-stop-shop for athletes and families in this area. Looking forward to enjoying this when it opens.

Our 11 year old daughter did 3 weeks of soccer camp this summer. She participated in the goalie training and received great training from coach Jack. The other coaches were friendly and encouraging. She especially liked coach Minnie, Brian and Eugene. She also enjoyed the other activities of rock climbing, basketball, the water park, and the super awesome amazing area. The facility stays very cool and it's a great way to get out of the heat and still have summer training.

There was a car show with a dj & music. We did go in the inside but I didn't get any pictures unfortunately. It was very beautiful & clean. You will have to do a temperature check but it was very nice! 1st time going & I'd definitely go again. Kay's Donuts was there & OMG them Donuts was amazing. Absolutely incredible. Top of the line facility you won't find anything close to it ever! It's expensive but if you can afford it, do it. Could literally spend days in here. It's a very clean, nice, and huge facility with many amenities. Administration and management systems don't seem to be well planned which leads to not the most optimal customer service. Everyone I dealt with was nice and well intended but it took quite a bit of back and forth to get some paperwork done right.

My family has been at Summer Camp at the St James for the last few weeks and the kids love it! A thing that I have really been impressed by is the camp staff! All of the counselors are great young people who are very thoughtful and well mannered. I have had lovely interactions with every counselor I meet. Today when my daughter hurt her ankle the team was thorough and kept me updated throughout the morning on a minor injury. It was refreshing. Well done team!

My 8 year old has loved attending summer camp at the St. James! The camps are extremely well run, lots of different options and the facilities are amazing, however it is the staff that keep us coming back. My son loved the college coaches and they were so incredibly kind and helpful throughout the entire camp (including drop off and pickup!!) We will be back soon!

Just WONDERFUL!! My 14 years old love the Ultimate Sports Camp. Thank you very much to the awesome staff. She became a member until the end of August, the distance for us was a 35 drive back and forth but worthy everything!!!

I have been a member of the St. James for 2 months now, and I can’t say enough good things about the place! The staff is super friendly and hospitable. The entire facility is clean. They are consistently cleaning while I work out. There are many options to choose from when it comes to fitness whether it’s machines, free weights, cardio, various classes, sports-related activities, etc. I’m never bored there. Plus, it’s very family friendly and the fees are affordable. I feel great every time I’m there. The St. James has truly renewed my desire to be healthy.

The instructors in all the classes i have taken have such a great energy which motivates you to work harder and be the best you can be. This has to be the best place I have ever skated in my life. The staff is so friendly, and nice. They remember my name every time i go. The place from top to bottom is so clean, you can eat food off the floor. Even the hockey locker rooms are so clean, including the showers. Every time I had a problem, staff took care of it immidiately. This place is a little pricey but for a good reason, id rather pay more money and be here, then to be in a cheaper rink. The love and care the staff puts into this rink shows how much love they have for hockey. I have skated on pro ice before and its the same quality. You step on that ice and you feel why its worth the money. Unfortunetly I will be moving out of state, and hopefully Saint James will expand. Keep up the great work.

Fantastic club for the whole family . Lots of different activities and sports that scan keep the whole family busy . The child care does get booked up very quickly but if booked in advance a great service that enables parents time to relax or work out at the club .

Signed my kid up for Ultimate Sports camp which lasted for a week and included a variety of sports (swimming, baseball, squash, etc). Enjoyed it, but said he was not pleased to find one of the counselors making TikToks most of the time instead of watching the kids… :/

Wow this place was state of the art! I went on a Saturday and parking was crazy. it took me a while to realize that there are also parking spots in the back of the facility. My kid had a basketball tournament so I was there for about 6 hours 😞. it was nice to be able to order food and adult beverages and watch TV during downtime. The wifi and reception were great as well. Ordering food and even just a lemonade took an extremely long time. The staff seemed overwhelmed in the kitchen area.

I'd give The St. James a 5, if it weren't for their "after you sign on the dotted line" service. The facility is clean, safe and there is something for everyone in your family. The hours are convenient. The on-floor staff is very nice and responsive; however, after the sale of our membership, I can't get anyone to call, email or respond otherwise when I need questions answered. We have tried for a month to get private baseball lesson scheduled for our son. I can't get anyone to call me regarding gymnastics, I never got a copy of our membership contract. Now I am stuck in a facility for 6 months that I can not utilize the way our family has intended and it has left a bad taste in my mouth....regardless of the water park or not.

This place is so cool. So many amenities to use. There's a gym, an olympic sized heated pool, ice skating rink/holiday players use it too. There's a huge soccer field divided into 4 sections for the smaller kids on teams to use it as well. They had gorgeous basketball courts that are divided into 4 courts for kids on sports teams and AAU tournaments which we used. Sweet. If you go to an AAU tournament here, its $15/day or $25/2 days. Lovely place. Wish a place this cool existed in RVA.

This place is great. I came for private adult swim lessons with Nancy B. and she is just absolutely phenomenal. I've had swim lessons before and have snorkeled in a many oceans and Islands across the globe and just was never a great swimmer. After only my first 2 lessons with Nancy I've had MAJOR improvements already. I have more scheduled with her and can't wait to finally become a strong swimmer!! Her techniques are just so on point, succinct, and shows immediate improvements. She's patient, understanding, and can read your body type and adjust for what works for you as an individual. I can't say enough how amazing their swim program is and their instructors. 10 stars for Nancy and The St. James!!!

My husband and I just love the St James. Great and friendly staff and facilities. The staff even remember our names and give us a warm greeting by name when we arrive and the health club equipment is kept in great working order. The classes are professionally run and fun. The Clean Team has been super during the pandemic keeping everything clean and wiped down. Never had to worry about the lockers rooms or any of the spaces cleanliness. We booked the event space for the DC Divas, the Women's full contact tackle football team. The team has practiced and played there before Covid and hope to again some day. The facility is pretty mind-blowing. Not just in size but quality. The event space is a hidden gem. The staff were terrific. The food was way better than we had expected it to be for 100 folks.

It’s an amazing facility, but the parking is horrendous. You can get a parking spot 10 miles from the front door, if you’re lucky. They should definitely a back entrance for the hockey players, and they don’t need to have a membership. And then they have valet in an already packed parking lot. I think they should have reserved spot for sports officials, so they will be more enticed to come.

AMAZING!!! Although you have to pay for everything separate, it was a great place to hang for the day. We did the splash park and the entertainment area this time. Was there all day, from 2-6. We'll be trying some of the other stuff like the batting cage, basketball and golf. Maybe even look into a membership, because they have a spa that momma can take advantage of. A very sophisticated, state of the art rec center.

This place is MASSIVE! There are several sports areas available and many activities to participate in. Party spaces can accommodate up to 58 kids at a time. My daughter had a blast at a party today! She enjoyed the trampolines, slides, ninja warrior area, and obstacle course. The only detractors was that the food from the venue was just okay. Soggy fries were due to them being covered in a warming tray too long and the dry slider patties may have been due to pressing the juice out while cooking or leaving them in the warmer too long as well. Stocking the fridge with already-cold Gatorade would have meant we had cold drinks instead of basically room temperature. Lastly, the chicken tenders and sliders should have been offered to the kids by staff members AT THE SAME TIME as the pizza, not AFTER the cake had been served. That was just weird! Did they forget?

A friend and myself recently took a Saturday adult ballet class with Laveen Naidu and it exceeded my expectations. Having a background in dance, I thought it would be the same as other classes, but it was far better. He made sure to give individual attention to our needs and explained concepts in a way that made it easy for us to adjust our alignment for the better. The class was fun and he gave combinations that made us effectively use our cores. I highly recommend taking classes at The Saint James. I can't wait to try their many other adult classes!!!!

I've been a member since it November 2018. A membership is one of the best things you can do to improve your lifestyle. I'm at the complex three or four times a week training with Will Brothers in the Health Club or exploring one of the many available sporting activities (I love the pool, golf, field house, climbing walls, and skating rinks). Super Awesome Amazing is really fun even for adults (the trampoline!) and you won't want to miss a meal at Vim & Victor (I recommend the Vic Burger and the Shoreline Wave smoothie). You can spend whole days here multiple times a week and never feel bored. The staff is fantastic. I can't say enough about the facility. The value for the money is unbeatable.

Con: Don't deceive by huge facility, because if all you have is membership, it didn't mean much. If you have children unless they are in group lesson they can only do so much. What we didn't know when we signed up for membership for the family. **Membership doesn't mean much** you just get discounted price as a member. Specially in the summer since they have summer camp and all the fields are occupied. The Supper Awesome Amazing (play place) is not free for members after 3pm. Yes there is pool … and water park … older kids wants to do much more than that. Soccer, basketball etc. If you have kids, either they have to be in summer camp, or group lesson otherwise all they can do is just swim, and water park, may be rock climbing … would you pay $$$ just for this? When I asked how come we didn't know this when we signed up??? We paid hundreds of dollars … too much restrictions.

This facility is amazing, and honestly, it's almost overwhelming with all the wonderful amenities. We toured and signed on for membership with Joshua Sands. His love for this facility is truly infectious and he's knowledgeable, personable and very responsive. The gym equipment is amazing! My husband is equally pleased. As a softball player, he really enjoys the batting cage. : ) Our son has been taking swimming lessons from coach Elizabeth, who is another shining star in the facility. She's skilled, kind, fun and encouraging. The employees we encounter are nice and helpful. It really is a great place.

I love this place. Great variety of equipment for everyone at every level. And if you want to work out with a trainer, STJ has the best of the best. If you like group exercise classes, they offer those, too. The women's locker room is huge, clean, nicely appointed. They definitely have the feel of a new facility with lots of bugs to work out and quality control measures to put into place. Pros: The facility is exceptionally clean The athletic trainers are AMAZING Classes are FANTASTIC Childcare doesn't allow food/drinks which is good for kids with allergies Cons: The staff is not well trained and usually doesn't know what's going on Childcare - the staff seems to be there only there to get a paycheck and doesn't seem to really care about the kids they care for or offer engaging activities other than coloring. If I had an infant, I would NOT leave them here. I have walked in to witness infants crying and basically being ignored by staff. Extra fees for SO many things as a members you can't really say you get a discount for the many offerings as a member.

AND you can have up to 4 hours of free baby sitting EVERY DAY while the grown ups enjoy the gym, pool or other activity... all included in the membership....

The best sports complex that felt more like a college campus than a sports facility. Everything from the friendly staff first greeting you to the Cafe, the merchandise store, and the many different sports fields available to you is top of the line. My son had an amazing experience at a birthday party that gave them private access to an indoor trampoline park and playground.

My husband and I joined for a few months, and after realizing how little this entitles us to, we cancelled. The facility is nice and clean, but for how much we were paying per month ($260 for both of us combined per month), it wasn't worth it. To use the batting cages, virtual golf, squash courts, or Super Awesome and Amazing facilities we had to pay (a lot) extra. The water park was only available for free for members during certain hours, basically only off peak, otherwise you had to pay extra. The sales person we signed up with said that we could have up to one guest per day. After we signed up, this changed to be two (or so) guests per month. When we tried to bring guests, we encountered a lot of confusion from staff about what they were and were not allowed to access, for example the pool. Guests are allowed pool access, but the lady at the pool desk demanded $20 for entry. We got the sales rep who explained to her that this was included and she should not charge any more for guest entry to the pool. Who knows how many people unfairly had to pay up? When joining, we were also told the St. James would be exclusive and there would be no day passes. We've had issues before with facilities like Audrey Moore where people would get day passes and intentionally make members uncomfortable in the sauna. Unfortunately, the St. James now offers day passes. One great quality about this gym though is its private training lessons. It's $40 per half hour of undivided attention with experiences staff for swimming. With the member discount it was $32. Well worth the price! All in all, it's a nice facility, large, but there's a lot of miscommunication among the staff, and many things cost extra on top of the already-expensive membership fee.

The staff is super friendly and accommodating and the facilities are fancy and clean by comparison of other venues. However, not a great place to play, coach or watch hockey. The clock is in the most illogical location so that you can't see it from the bench. The separation between the 2 rinks is so bad that you you can't tell which rink the whistles are coming from. The ice is inconsistent by any rink's standards. There's no livebarn to watch the games. Oddly enough, they host a fair amount of competitive hockey, and yet every coach and parent I've spoken with complains constantly trying to watch a game. Some minor tweaks and it would be a great place all the way around.

Honestly there are other “gyms” an individual can join that is suitable for their income level, no need to bash this amazing sports complex because it not within your price range. This facility has been in operation since September and may have a few kinks that need to be sorted out, but that’s with all start-up companies. My family love having everything under one roof. There is so much we can do as a family. In my opinion you get what you pay for and honestly, I love luxury. My little ones (7&9) tell all their friends at school about The St James. They are so proud to be members.

Outstanding facility. The staff is super attentive and kind to all. My review would be a five star but the two star deduction comes from the enforcement of masks worn by the complex users. Once a majority of people enter the facility, there is little to no enforcement of masks. The locker room and fitness areas are neglected in this enforcement. People that are not working out are gathering without proper distance and maskless.

This place is huge, clean, and jaw dropping. I took my 5 and 3 year old to the water park. They enjoyed it but it is not what I expected. There is literally water spraying everywhere and it only features 3 slides. Also, there is no place for parents to really comfortably watch their kids while they are playing. It looks annoying and is poorly designed. I booked a party at super awesome and amazing and I would not highly recommend it to anyone. Again, the kids had fun but it’s not worth it. You are literally only paying for the room space and entrance fee for your guests. There is an up charge for EVERYTHiNG else. You have to choose food from their expensive menu, and worst of all, provide your own decorations for the room, for which you only have 15 minutes to set up. For the prices they charge, they should at least decorate the room. It is an inconsiderate hassle for the parents. You can’t even bring in bottled water or chips and have to pay a fee to bring your own cake. It wasn’t very busy for a weekend party and I found the staff to be very helpful and hands on for the most part. I hope they reconsider their offerings and make their 1 party package more convenient for guests. But I will say my kids enjoyed their experiences as well as the party.

This facility is incredible. I have a membership to the pool and it is one of the nicest Olympic sized swimming pools I have ever swam in. I always have my own lane as well, which is nice considering the pandemic. I have also visited the spa a few times for massages which have been wonderful.

Very nice and big sports center, however, it’s super overpriced. I’m only interested in using the upscale gym and nothing more. Unfortunately, they don’t offer a special gym membership. Hopefully, in the future, they would consider it. They tell you as a member you get “access to everything in the facility 24 hr” but, in reality, it’s only available when most people are at work and kids are in school. After 3 pm if you want to use any of the amenities you have to pay $15 per hour per either for your self or you're kids. This is on top of your monthly membership fees. In my opinion, if you are going to charge this much per month you should either remove the $15 fee for members or if you are going to charge $15 then there should be no restrictions on time for members to use any of the amenities that they offer only then it’s worth the price. I truly hope that they reconsider their ways of operating.

We took our kids, 5 and 3 y/o, to the indoor water park. It was more than I expected. Kids were a bit overwhelmed in the beginning with all the spraying, dumping of water from all directions and the noise from water but they eased into it in no time. My 5 year old did all the water slides including the very tall ones. We kept the younger one around smaller slides. It was their first time to experience anything like this, besides regular swimming pool. Staff paid careful attention to roudy kids and ensured their safety. They provide clean towels and had many family changing rooms. My lock didn’t fit their lockers. They said they sell water diapers if we forget ours...all in all great 1 hour. It was more than enough for us. Can’t wait to experience their indoor play, trampoline and climbing walls. Parents can watch while kids run around and play. Same with water park, next time I’m not going in and will watch my kid from the side.

I took my kids to Super, Awesome, and Amazing last weekend and they loved it. This is a place where your kids can truly go wild and burn some energy in a well-supervised environment. The staff was great, so I have nothing bad to say. I'll be bringing my kids back regularly. Keep in mind that the virtual reality area is at an extra cost, but it was reasonably priced and my kids had fun trying it for the first time.

Beautiful, new, clean facility that has it all. Huge hockey rink, pool, huge turf field area, gymnastics area, virtual gaming, childcare, gym, basketball court, volleyball court, rockclimbing, and more that I didn't see yet. Very kid friendly. Offers parents the chance to have kids get active or get introduced to a new activity/sport while they go work out. Win-win. Restaurant upstairs and snacks downstairs. Staff is friendly and down to earth. I do not personally have a membership there, so I can't speak to cost, but you can sign up for classes regardless. Facility offers open gym time as well for the different facilities.

We've been STJ members since it opened 18 months ago. The staff are friendly and helpful. The facility is amazing--we spend hours and hours playing with the kids and utilizing all the amenities at The St James. Our kids especially love the Laugh Learn and Play Classes--while we workout, the kids enjoy yoga, sign language, dance classes and more. We appreciate having a place where we can be active and spend quality time together as a family. STJ is also receptive to member feedback and continues to make positive changes--improving access to the water park, rock wall and super awesome and amazing, and adding valet parking during busy weekends.

For group sporting events this will be a great venue. Kids and families will love what the venue has to offer. As a single woman, I was a little disappointed in the gym, which felt secondary. The space is laid out a little funny and the fitness rooms are pretty standard, not what I really expected. For example the yoga studio doesn’t have the ability to be heated and the cycle room was fairly small and unimpressive, though the bikes were very nice. Biggest disappointment by far was the ladies locker room. I think we counted 4 outlets in the entire space, can’t imagine a hoard of women fighting for 4 outlets and sparse counter space in the morning. Also the steam room and sauna were very small, maybe able to fit 6-8 people in either space. Compared to Lifetime Fitness, just didn’t find the facility to have been designed with women in mind. But, again, great for kids and families!

Old Glory DC Rugby has been based in this incredible facility for the past 12 months and have enjoyed everything it has to offer. We visited just to take our kids to the "Super, Awesome, Amazing" play area. It lives up to its name. It has a trampoline area, a multi-story playground with Nerf guns (and eye protection), three different climbing walls, a ropes style obstacle course, a ninja warrior style obstacle course and virtual reality games. We paid $23/kid for one hour as non-members on a weekend, adults were free. We were allowed to go with our kids onto all of the equipment. It was not overly crowded but I could imagine the wait getting long during busy times. They also have several party rooms. It was definitely geared towards the school age set, toddlers might be intimidated/overwhelmed. For the price, I think Scramble is a better value since you get all day admission.

It's a big place with a variety of sports oriented areas. Kids loved the indoor playground adventure, lots of birthday parties. I tried the golf simulator and it was fairly accurate based on swing path, club speed. The food needs some improvement like make the pizza with less dough - too dense, burger slider needs more meat or smaller bun but the salad was very good.

I mean it’s unfortunately the only complex like it so, kinda have to take the negatives with it. If you’re a serious golfer I do not recommend it, they’re possible the most inaccurate and frustrating simulators I’ve ever used. I think I can look past that but, it’s been more frequently than not that there is a insane amount of little kids playing dodgeball in the squash courts, it’s ridiculously distracting and just serves to compound a subpar experience. Also to put it plainly the restaurant sucks, the foods bad and it takes insanely long.

St. James has been the perfect fit for our family especially during this unprecedented COVID period. The unbelievable fitness and sports facilities have provided our kids the facilities to improve athletically (instead of plaguing video games all day) and enabled my wife and I to commit to getting back into shape. Highly recommend other families to join who are tired of being couped up at home feeling like time and opportunities are passing by for yourself or your kids.

I have been a member for over a year. This review is mostly in reference to the members only locker room, which includes many showers, sauna, steam room to use after workouts. The locker room is mostly in a very clean condition, with towels, razors, makeup remover always well stocked, however, despite there being signs upon entry clearly stating that no cameras or cell phones are to be used in locker rooms, there are very frequently young women taking selfies or filming themselves and their backsides in front of the large mirror right next to showers and sauna. This is unacceptable and a huge violation to the privacy of the members that pay a lot of money to use the facilities and expect their bodies not be photobombing the latest Instagram gym selfie while walking to the shower. I understand that the club can’t control this beyond putting up signs but signs on the mirror would be helpful. I also have been taken back several times by the ages of little boys that women choose and are allowed to bring into the women’s locker room as well as the women’s locker room in the swim house. There are quality spacious family locker rooms for this reason. I don’t care if a mother wants to allow her 6 year old boy to watch me change but it is quite uncomfortable for my daughter who is just learning to be comfortable changing in front of other women. I am a mother of young boys and use the family locker room when they are with me, I think it’s common sense for all members to intuitively do this, however maybe due to cultural differences, I think there needs to be a rule/ age limit, to respect the women that are rightfully assuming it’s a women’s only locker room. And no I’m not talking about toddler boys. That being said, my younger children truly enjoy the day care program which is always clean and inviting. The day care employees are always friendly and smiling and willing to play and interact with the children.

For anyone leaving negative reviews because of cost, Seriously!?, if it's not in your price range then don't sign up. But why leave a negative review based on price?? So silly. The product is great.

This facility is great and located close to my home. However communication is poor and response time is slow. Often people don't have the answers. Most of what was told to us "founding members" was later changed. The free hours for members using the water park and other things for kids is during the time when parents are working and children are in school. Being charged on top of memberships fees $15 per hour per child to use a water park or other child area is ridiculous. If those fees were lifted for members or hours extended for the working family, I would be able to spend more time here and have no complaints.

State of the art facility. They almost have everything. Pool is most beautiful i have ever seen. Wall is kinda small for advanced rock climbers, but is more than sufficient for newbies. Tons of kids use it to play hockey at the ice skating rinks. Expensive, expensive, expensive but oh, so good!

This place is huge. New, nice, and clean. All kinds of sports and activities can be played indoor here. We were there for the youth water polo tournament over the weekend. Between games my kids enjoyed rock climbing for $10/hr and Super Awesome Amazing area $23/hr. SAA is bit pricey and gets crowded on weekends but it's cheaper on weekdays. You have to buy their grippy socks the first time too. There's a restaurant but long wait on weekends. But you can find lots of restaurants and fast food choices within a few minute drive. Their pool is nice but SwimRVA in Richmond is still the best pool facility in VA with better seating area.

Nice complex but after I inquired about the membership and found out the monthly dues I will have to pass. This place will cost more than a upscale gym in Washington DC. Even though they have a lot of amenities I feel half of it will probably not be utilized by everyone. My personal opinion is memberships should be sold according to what facilities the member will be utilizing. This place is completely unreasonably priced for the average Joe with a family. IT's really sad because we need a facility like this in the metro area.

You can fit three of the biggest gyms you've ever seen into this one. It's a gorgeous monstrosity. We all know state-of-the-art everything comes with a hefty price tag. I prefer a more cozy atmosphere for my fitness so this place likely isn't for me.

So many things to keep them entertained, the staff was so welcoming and nice, good restaurant with good food at a reasonable price. During COVID, the St.James has done an amazing job with their health screening, temperature checks, and contact tracing. By implementing a mandatory prearrival self health evaluation for everyone that comes into the building (even guests and employees) along with requiring patrons to sign up for specific timeslots in the various areas around the complex they've managed to keep everything locked down. However, they went above and beyond by adding a high-end thermal camera that records the temperature of every single person who enters the building in real time. Make sure to come down and get a tour of this place if you get the chance as this facility is a one stop shop for all of your health and fitness needs. For now they have the swimming pool, weight room, health club, sports field, courthouse, and ice rinks open along with the VR golf, squash courts, hitting house, and part of the restaurant open, but hopefully as soon as September 1st comes around the rest of the facility will open back up. TL;DR: The St.James is an all sports and all activities health/fitness center that can suit your every need which during this pandemic has made safety a priority, and will not disappoint.

This place is MASSIVE! The First Tee of Greater Washington, DC recently held a Volunteers Training and Appreciation Day. When I drove up to the site I was like OMG! Walking in the large reception area staff were quick to help guide me. I couldn't close my mouth after viewing the basketball courts, the full service gym and then the golf suite was fantastic! I can't count the simulators. I walked down the hall and found the 50 meter pool with a full sized indoor Water Park! Our chapter will return for several events and programs. It's the place to be for all things sports!

Extremely well taken care of and worth every dollar spent. Each member of their team is knowledgeable and professional. Update: The Saint James is an ELITE TRAINING FACILITY. This is not a public Rec Center. If you want to train like a Pro and get training support to help grow in your sport, then expect to pay a bit of money. Do not expect to come here and get a free handout. The membership costs are designed to keep numbers here small. Those who want a less personal workout experience can join smaller, overcrowded gyms.

We were fortunate enough to have The St. James host a lacrosse event I run called the Committed Combine on Dec 1-2. I can't say enough how amazing the facilities are and how great they treated us. We had kids from 14 different states and every player/parent/coach couldn't stop raving about how incredible it was to have so much under one roof! I'd like to thank the owners for their generosity and bringing us in to break in their massive fieldhouse with their first ever full field lacrosse game. We went for a birthday party for a friend of my 10 year old son. We brought our 6 year old daughter along, even though she was a bit small for some of the activities. She really wanted to go in the maze where the Nerf war was happening, but she didn’t want to get hit with the war going on. An employee named Abu saw that she wanted to go in, and took her by the hand and escorted her through the maze to protect her. She was so happy, and I was pleased to see the young man act in such a kind and compassionate way.

Friendly staff, unbelievable facilities, unique, roomy, highly enticing view areas, whether in the "TV row" area between the two ice rinks or at the couch areas on the top level above the grand stairways. Apart from bending the cost curve (of course), my only recommended inputs are minor and seem like easy fixes: 1. Make it easier on the website for nonmembers to find and prepay for an activity in advance, e.g., for the stick-and-puck times on the rinks. 2. Make it easier for customers and/or staff in a particular area to change the channel on whatever massive (or regular) TV setup is there to things that folks in that area would naturally or likely want to see. For some reason, this has proved impossible everytime I've asked, for example, that they put on the Stanley Cup playoffs in the hockey/rink area rather than some bizarre non-sport documentary or whatever they'll have on. Some friendly staffer will invariably radio up a call for this purpose to a mystical power elsewhere in the St. J., only to invariably return 10 minutes later with news that there's nothing they can do about it. (It can't be that hard, esp for the Palace of Versailles/NASA of sports facilities.) 3. It's less a concern for me, but I've heard a fair amount of complaints or frustration that, for all its wonderful facilities (and I love 'em), there are no tennis courts and evidently (it seems) no ready and credible explanation about why this is the case--particularly when lesser area facilities (Sport-and-Health or One Life Fitness, for example) have several tennis courts.

While I do love St. James in general, my 5 stars goes out to my trainer Elise. I've been working with her for months now, doing her performance nutrition meals. The food is amazing and cost efficient for what you're getting! We do body scans every several weeks and based on the results Elise tweaks my meals to help me achieve my goals. I just recently started her bootcamp training and it's been awesome. She pushes me just enough and motivates me to do my best. I never push myself the way she is able to. Since January I have lost over 30 pounds and gained approx 10% muscle. I feel like a different person. Seriously, if anyone wants to make some life changing happen, talk to Elise about nutrition and bootcamp, she makes it happen with you. Also, my mom NEVER does nutrition programs and after meeting Elise she did 6 weeks of meal plan and now walks and does weights with me bc Elise helped to empower her into believing she could even at 74 :)
