Reviews of Entertainment & Sports Arena
First time there for a pro wrestling show. Modern arena. Really accessible. Laid out well with great seats for the 100 section. I don't think there's a bad seat there.
Great experience I had a wonderful time for my first wrestling match. The kids loved it. The only thing was that we could not bring our bag inside if it was too big and they did not have lockers to put them in unless you had a special problem then you would get a wristband and come back and get your bag when the show is over. The food was a bit pricey and took a long time cooking but it was worth it when it was finished. #happyBreastcancerawareness month
went to 4 pro wrestling shows here, seats are amazing wherever you sit, venue is well laid out, bathrooms and merch are also easy access, parking is very nice aswell either at the garage or arena parking
Nice arena. Intimate in size and comfortable seating. Great sight lines. Bathrooms are smaller so there may be some waiting in line. I didn't check out concession, though from the looks of those around me it looks like classic arena food.
Staff/security very friendly.
My main reason for the review is to inform the event-goer about parking. Our show started at 7 (main show at 8) but parking took 45 minutes. It was a long line to get into the lot. Cost was $10, not too bad, but prepare best by getting to your event EARLY.
I’ve gone to the Arena twice now - once for the Mystics Championship Game and for the Global Mixed Gender Basketball. Both games were great experiences - and packed. The feel of the DC community is strong at the arena, and I love the serving of Hennessy at the bars. The arena gives you the feel of home in a polished, professional space. Excited to attend more events at this space.
The staff was super friendly and accommodating (I cannot go through the medical defector). The lines went super fast to check covid vaccine cards, Id's and tickets. The first day the hot dogs were super good, line was short. Merch counter line was long but quick. Second day the fried chicken and French fries were sooooo good and fresh. Taste like my grandmother was on the Fryer. The seats are not tight, also clean...thank goodness! Mask are mandatory and rule is emplimented. No comment on parking I took Lyft/Uber but it was an easy pick up and drop off. Although it is 45 mins from home, I would definitely go back to this venue again.
Ok! Can we say AWESOME! From the shuttle ride to the concessions everything was on point! Seats are cool, section 200 is on a major incline I don’t recommend this to folks with babies! But not a bad seat in the house! Can’t wait to go back for another event!
My recommendation if you do use the shuttle leave a tad early free your event so you don’t have to wait long for a ride back to the car!
There are some great things about this arena and some not so great things.
Great:
So easy to get to. Metro stop is 5 min away, Lyft and Uber drop off and pick up area is clear and simple. Driving looks pretty easy as there isn't much traffic in the vicinity and there are 3 parking lots. There are shuttles from each lot. If you get there early, you can park on the street. It's further for me than Nats Park but much faster to get to.
I went to see the Mystics and the arena is a perfect size for them. It was sold out for a finals game with a loud, fun, and engaged fan base.
Game experience is fun. The music, the announcers, the fans... My friends and I had a blast.
Not Great:
There is nothing within walking distance. Don't bother getting here early bc there is nowhere nearby to hang out.
There are no benches outside. For anyone who can't stand for long amounts of time, do not get there early. You will have nowhere to sit while waiting for the doors to open.
There are no drinking fountains. This should be a requirement at all entertainment facilities. You should not have to buy water in plastic bottles. Ever.
Food is pretty lacking. I got the standard chicken tenders and fries and the chicken was so tough, chewing was pretty difficult. The fries were good, though.
The rows are very close together. You would think that a modern arena would have more space between each row... Nope. These rows are so close that your legs will bump into the head of the person in front of you if you are not careful.
Great Game. It was my first WNBA and it Really enjoyed it. It was a Great Experience and we need to show these ladies all the support on the world.
New, rather small arena on the grounds of old St Elizabeth's mental hospital, in Anacostia. Limited adjacent parking but three or so lots (not garages) within a short walk. Seats padded but a bit cramped for tall folk. Security seems adequate. Concessions basic.
The first time we visited this place for a MMA fight when they first opened it was very unorganized, but they have corrected all of the previous issues. Great customer service. Take a advantage of the free shuttle to and from the parking lots.
This was our first visit to this arena for a night Mystics game. Lots of people attended, great security and good spirits abounded following the Mystics victory. It's a great venue for this team and easy to reach since the Metro is within a 5- to 10- minute walk. Food and beverages are good and easily available at several locations.
Great atmosphere, but wish the food options were better and the arena was slightly bigger.
The comcast center was too big for them but I feel this arena is too small for them. It leaves no opportunity for the franchise to grow in the amount of people that come to games. They could definitely be selling more tickets especially with the sold out games.
Great sports experience and easy to get to. Shuttle to parking lots was very convenient. Concession lines were a little long, even at random times in the game.
First time here for a Mystics game. Very clean & bright venue. Good concession options. I caught the metro which is a very short walk to/from the arena.
4 1/2 stars. 2 main great things, probably not a bad view in the arena, and the actual seats, even though they are plastic-type, are very comfortable.
The only downsides are, the room in front of seats is tiny and there isn't much going on as far as concessions and such. But it's just a small building, even for the number of seats, so not too much you can do about that I guess.
If you are parking in one of the three lots, you'll still have to walk down the main drag, not super far, but not as close as it may look on a map.(might be better in the future, looks like a lot of construction going on) And be careful, not much room getting into the lot, can get backed up easily.
Beautiful, facility! Not a bad seat in the house. Parking is pretty decent, and if you have to pay, it's convenient as they accept cards and cash.
The arena is new, we need more air conditioner in the upper tier area. There were two big speakers hanging from the ceiling that block your view if you not seating directly in the middle. Hopefully they add jumbotron for viewing. The sound sytem was a little muffled but not too bad that you couldn't enjoy the show. Nice variety of concessions with fried and grill food. Shuttle available to parking lot and metro. Very secured with lots of security.
Visited here for an AEW wrestling television show in January. It’s a beautiful facility that does not feel too daunting. The restrooms were clean and there were plenty of exits in case of an emergency. Unfortunately, this complex exists pretty far from downtown DC, so if you’re leaving an event ending late in the evening have a plan for getting home.
We could see everything and we were at the top row!
Such a great venue to see AEW!!
It's a great venue! Staff and security were very friendly and helpful! Lines were very quick, efficient and organized. It was not difficult to find our seats. Would come back again when, another event that I'm interested in comes to the venue again!
Awesomeness! Mystic Ladies represented
I attended a Capital City Go-Go game on Feb 25, 2022 and was pleased with the van ride from the parking lot as well as the staff in the arena! Keep up the great work!
Wonderful, the circus was awesome. My daughter really enjoyed herself. Great staff from the ushers to Security very friendly and helpful. Parking wasn't expensive and convenient. The overall look and feel of the building was inviting, clean and well thought out. I will definitely be looking forward to more events as well as the Washington Wizards and D.C. GO-GO basketball games.
Great arena! All of the seats are good seats!
Nice new arena set in the midst of a major redevelopment project. We took our kids to see an afternoon Mystics game and it was a great experience. Bought Green Lot parking the day before for $12 and easily found a space. The arena itself is a nice size to have a family friendly experience. You get to see a top WNBA team without the hassle of a larger arena. We bought inexpensive seats for our first game there (back row of the 100 level) but still felt like we had a good view and were part of the energy on the court.
We arrived just as the game started and only had a few minutes wait to get through security and to our seats. When it was over, we were back to our car and on the highway into town within 15 minutes. Fun game and an overall smooth experience with the kids.
We had fun. Staff was courteous. Venue was clean. We felt safe the entire time. The only thing keeping me from ranking it a 5 is that the food was over the top expensive for this venue. The prices need to come down a few dollars and they will draw large crowds. Families would enjoy it more!
Special place here in #Ward8. Parking right along side, Metro down the street. Today they hosted the Blossom Block Party! it was amazing!
Enjoyed ourselves at our home boy boxing match. It was amazing. The facility was nice and the staff were helpful. We had a good time. Can't wait for his next event.
First visit the seats I had in section 101 row D were great seats. They need to improve on their food. It's horrible. Nothing healthy and even if not healthy not good tasting. Do better. Some of the workers need better tone to their delivery. Harsh sounding.
Event staff were very friendly, inviting and accommodating. The food was very good. Best Popcorn I ever had, really, the best fresh, buttery tasting but not greasy, soft and crunchy.
This place is nice. But small and parking close to the building was $20. The food and drinks were limited, but not bad tasting. Had the shrimp and fries basket. The women's team is actuslly pretty good and deserves more attention than recieved.
We saw MC Hammer live here. It was a very nice smaller venue, not a bad seat in the place. Newer building and clean restrooms. Well managed area and the plentitude of security in the area made everyone feel safe.
It is a great place and fun. I would definitely come to another event.
Awesome facility! Went 3 nights in a row for the CAA tournament. Short lines everywhere, clean seats and bathrooms. Great sound and screens. Definitely looking forward to seeing other games here.
Went there for a college basketball tournament. Parking was $20, which seems a bit pricey for an event like that. Bought my ticket at the box office and they were only taking cash, which was weird.
The arena itself is nice, nothing great but nice.
Had an amazing experience at the first Wizards open practice! Sat right on the floor, met Dwight Howard, got a free shirt, great concessions, awesome dancers, plenty of parking, close to metro and a free experience in the heart of southeast! Excited to see more there!
A quaint arena. Steep upper level and no room to stretch legs without standing up.
The jumbo screens were not working but it was opening night. Maybe that will be forthcoming.
Of course the neighborhood was not intended to handle the amount of traffic but overall, the parking system and navigating around the arena is ok. The shuttle system should communicate with MPD in advance to ensure that the shuttles are allowed access to the easiest route returning to the parking lot after the show.
Great local space and I will return depending upon my interest in the shows.
Nice and new. Easy to navigate and no bad seats in the building. Caution to those that Uber and Lyft...make sure your driver has been there before and know what to do. It’s so new that many drivers don’t have a clue and will cancel on you!
Went to a Capital City Go-Gos game and the facility was very nice. I didn’t try any of the food but there are water fountains available and clean restrooms. Also, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We went for the second ever show at this venue. We enjoyed the show and thought the venue was nice. They had some trouble with the sound quality and seating l, but they worked it out. We bought tickets online, but they were for seats that had not been installed yet.
The new stadium is really cool! I was there for an esports event and the staff running the place were awesome. I am excited for more esports events in the future there, but I wish they would spend a bit more on advertising events to the local area. This place should be on blast on all the local radio stations
Took the kids to see the Capital City GoGo and we had a great time. The staff is friendly and helpful. The venue is clean and affordable. The food at the MLK Deli is delicious. I will definitely be returning.
Gogo games are a ton of fun to go to
This place hasn’t even opened and they are already are low on my list. Try to buy a couple of tickets opening night. As we all know Ticket Master has outrageous fees. I emailed the venu to ask “Is it possible to buy tickets in person to avoid Ticket master fee’s?” Reply was “unfortunately not”.
I accepted the answer but since its a show I really wanted to see I proceeded to purchase the tickets online and then replied to the venu saying that it is really unfortunate because I will most likely not come back due to the lack of avoiding fees. I go to way too many shows to be paying fees all the time.
But then I got a reply that I was not expecting. “You can walk up and buy tickets with no fee.“
Not sure how there can be a misscommunication with such a simple question. Could have almost bought another ticket with the fees that I paid.
I hope for the good of neighborhood and investments that has been made, the service gets better.

Update!!! 10/13/18
Went to the show. OUTSTANDING!!! Great venue. Great people working there. Definitely will go back.
Now I know I can go and grab some tix at the box office w/out fees.
All is forgiven!!!! :)
Given...they are super new to this...but. Parking was dreadful. Pretty sure I got hustled for $20 and my buddy got hustled for $10 (lucky bastid). Huge vacant chunk of land and they dont have parking? Ok... Venue itself? Standard absurd costs for adult beverages....$11 for a Bud Light can. Acoustics? Bass was solid but couldn't hear any of the lyrics. Heard the same band at 9:30 and it sounded Studio Quality. Not impressed with this one. 200 Section nosebleeds packed and floor "General Admission" was 1/6 capacity at best. Super weird. Can say its clean...but wouldn't you expect that from a month old place? I was in the 100's on the side and the angle was so sharp I may as well have been in the hallways.
Had a wonderful time with the Mystics in there new arena. The crowd was into the game and the Mystics put on a show! Will definitely be headed back for another game. Go Mystics!
Nice new stadium, very friendly staff and very organized. Smaller venue than Capital One, comfortable seating, and about a 5 minute walk from the metro (Congress heights).
We had a nice experience watching my niece play a pick up game during Towson's halftime. Pleasantly surprised by MLK Deli having a concession stand at the arena as well
Drove there early to understand the layout of the facility before the PFL fights. Have to say its quite the maze if its your first time there, highly recommend navigating during daylight due to lots of construction blocking roads.
The main entrance is at the intersection of Alabama and Oak / 12th Street. However, if you’re driving from 295 the most direct route would be to continue on Malcolm X Ave then turn left on 8th street. Yes, there are two yellow signs saying No Outlet, these are outdated and it is a through street. Just after the turn you’ll arrive at the Green parking lot. This is the closest lot to the arena.
There is also a Red lot which is toward where Sycamore and Pecan Streets meet. Note that the Red lot is around much of the construction ongoing so it can be difficult to tell which ways are dead ends or open roads. Both of these lots are $10, and I was told cash or credit are accepted. Both have shuttles going back and forth from the parking lot to the arena (however probably not needed from the Green lot). I also passed a Blue lot when coming from the Alabama side but was given no info on it and looked full already.
Just did a driving tour so far but went by the Congress Heights green line metro station as well. There’s a direct walking path from the metro to the arena so you don’t need to detour back along Alabama Ave.
I’ll update the review when actually attending the event but wanted to get this out there in case it helps. Also was unable to find a phone number for the ticket office or anywhere, the website just lists email POCs.
The arena is amazing the seats are great anywhere you sitting at you got clear view the stage or the court very clean the bathrooms are clean the tickets were really inexpensive it's just an overall wonderful place to visit and enjoy yourself if you looking to have a good time be it a basketball game or a concert you're really going to enjoy this venue
Really nice little arena. Good food and there's not a bad seat in the house.
Great venue for a boxing match
Came for the Capital GoGo basketball game, lots of fun. Great prices for tickets, awesome for families, The Orange Cow has delicious ice cream offerings.
The Congress Heights ambassadors are the best. Clean uniforms, big smiles, and attentive to questions. I look forward to seeing USA Basketball in February.
Great venue for watching basketball parking needs to get better
Went to Gospel Fest there. Great seating. Good food at the "Plum" restaurant. The Grilled Halfsmoke was cooked to perfection.
Amazing seats, you really can't have a bad seat in that venue. Sound was incredible, everything went smooth and made the experience much more enjoyable
Elena Delle Donne, League MVP, Emma Meesseman, Finals MVP, Point Guard Kristi Toliver, sharpshooter Natasha Cloud, Coach Thibault and the rest of the Washington Mystics won the 2019 WNBA Championship on their homecourt, late Thursday night 10.10.19. They shared the trophy with their fans at the Championship Rally on Friday, 10.11.19. Congratulations on being 2019 WNBA Champions.
This place is going to attract some great people to the ward 8 community. My family and I enjoyed ourselves at the amateur boxing matches.
The capital city Go-Go basketball team is wonderful they play hard every night I've been to mostly every home game this year only missed a few love the atmosphere and the people that work there are very gracious courteous and very nice I will always come back
Had a BLAST! The shuttle from parking to the venue was super convenient too
Loved it, easy to get to and the arena was very comfortable. Still a new place, didn't see any eating places, maybe that will come later, all and all fabulous.
In a unique part of town. Wish they had seats on the upper level on both sides. Need more merch to choose from. Concessions could be a little cheaper.
I went there to see Cirque du Soleil, great disposition of seats. You can have a good view to the stage from all of them.
Great new venue for Mystics games. Perfect size for fans to enjoy games while being big enough to host the team
Very nice Venue. All good seats. Food was subpar Chicken was dry. Prices are high for even a sports venue on drinks.
Absolutely beautiful Arena! Go Mystics!
Very nice sports arena in nice location and lots a space for entertainment purposes. The boxing performances where awesome as well
Perfect little 4,000 seat arena. Very well done!
Beltway boxing at its best.
Clean place that has plenty of consession areas. Close to the Metro station. Ticket price is reasonable.
Man real nice Venue for MMA, will be back. I think once all kinks are worked out and construction this will be a premium venue.
Went to a Mystics game and it was awesome!!
Great experience. Staff was friendly, concessions like other places, great seats everywhere.
WNBA PLAYOFFS WASHINGTON MYSTICS
The arena is wonderful. There is security as you walk from the metro to the arena, but you are walking in unlit areas that are "in the cut."
Nice staff and bartenders; venue seems to have good seats all-around.
Lovely show. Nice facilities.
The parking was terrible it's sad to pay for parking and then to be told we are full. The lines was too long to get in the Building, maybe it was the grand opening.🤔 …
Nice arena but parking needs improved shuttle service from venue to lot is slow.
This place was nice, bathrooms were clean, fries were good but the burgers were nasty. The parking was the worst part
Love coming to see our Washington Mystics play here. Every seat is good!
Would be 5 stars except it took an hour to park and a 1/2 mile to walk back to arena
Affordable fun for the whole family. Clean facilities and friendly and helpful event staff.
Awesome views regardless where you sit
Great atmosphere and the Mystics won!
Great place to watch a game. Easily accessible to Metro. Nice folks working there.

Everything is fine, but the security guard took the item out of the blue. Hehe I told the police inside the stadium that I wouldn't return it, so I got it back. Other than that, the stadium atmosphere is good, the games are fun, and it's a bit walkable from the subway station, but it's not bad.
I had a great night of boxing. Well organized by Tricky Entertainment. The event was very enjoyable with a lot of emphasis on safety.
It is a small stadium where different activities are carried out but it is very comfortable.
