Reviews of Rainbow Springs State Park
Eric Pritchard
Entrance fee is $2 per person collected at a gate house near the spring headwaters about .25 miles from the parking lot. There are some short trails, a swimming area, restroom/changing rooms, pavilions and grilling areas and a lawn area for sunbathing. The visitor center and snack bar were closed on the day of our visit, Tuesday in February.
There is a watercraft launch and rental area located just past the swimming area which we used to launch our paddle boards. You will need to carry your watercraft from the parking lot to that area.
The water is crystal clear, deep and 72 degrees year round. Paddling was great, next to no obstacles with light currents. I have had more scenic experiences, much of the river is occupied by residential areas on one side. Wildlife is abundant, turtles, fish and birds are everywhere. As in any water source in Florida there are alligators but we did not observe any during out 3 hours on the water. Best of all were the small coves along the river which provided opportunities to pull over and cool off with a swim.
There is a campground located 7 miles by road from the spring that has its own watercraft launch.
Overall the park was a great experience although I’m sure it would be difficult to have that same option had we gone on a weekend, the park closes the gate at capacity, or had we not taken the watercraft out to explore the river away from the swimming area.

Beautiful state park with a botanical garden with walking paths, canoe/kayak area, restrooms with changing rooms and a swimming area. The parking lot is only a 5-10min walk away. You can tell this is a touristy destination by their gift shop, food stand & how they set up the park. The swimming area is smaller than expected, but still an amazing experience. I saw a sea turtle while swimming!
They do charge a $2 admission.
The campground is nice, clean and spacious. Check in was easy & staff was friendly. You can see the stars above in the night. The area is quiet & great for families.

Very beautiful 😍 I did not expect the water to be so blue!! It was so pretty I had an amazing time. The water was crystal clear, and you could swim down and touch the springs. I highly recommend bringing a pair of goggles and, if you have some, snorkels. I went paddle boarding and saw fish, birds, and turtles. This was an exciting and superb experience. I would definitely go again but there are other springs I would like to see as well.

This is truly a Florida gem. The park is beautiful, clean, friendly, nature-filled, economic, and impressive overall. Park guards/rangers are very friendly and helpful, and there’s always one posted at the main spots of the park, so you feel safe and always have someone to answer your questions. We were a group of 6, brought our own tent (only 4 sided tents not allowed in head springs picnic area), a small grill, and even a dominoes table. Large grassy area right next to the swimming area to lay down your towels and enjoy the views. We expected long lines and a large crowd, but due to the suspected tropical storm (which didn’t end up hitting this area), this Saturday morning was nice and quiet. We arrived around 8:30 & had the advantage of an almost empty swimming area. We also kayaked about 30 mins down the river, and the views were breathtaking. Cheap prices too. We parked at the headstrong entrance so we could have a long picnic. Bathrooms are also nice and clean. Perfect spot to experience something new and have a great time with family.

Beautiful spring. A few man made waterfalls, only one was working during my visit. $2 per person fee to enter into the park.
Parking is plentiful. Nice, paved walkways. Restrooms, visitors center, gift shop and concession area are nice and cared for. There are pavilions and a nice grassy area for picnics on a blanket. Dog friendly. Smoking areas.
The spring itself is large. The swimming area is deep. The gift shop sells floats for $4 for this reason- you cannot stand. There are benches for sitting or for your belongings- you enter the spring from a floating dock and aluminum ladder going into the water. The swimming area is clearly roped off. Kayaking and paddle boards are available to rent by the hour or day at decent rates.
Gal Reinharts
One of the most beautiful places ever. The water are crystal clear and have the most beautiful colors. They have a huge lawn where you can just chill, and a bbq area where they also have tables and benches. They also have a small shop at the entrance for snacks and drinks. You can rent a kayak or puddle board for around 17$-27$ per hour (or around 50$ for the entire day). Another huge benefit to this spring is that they have beautiful trails where you can walk about and explore the nature around. GO THERE! Tubes are not allowed. You can bring your own kayak or puddle board as well (don’t know if they charge you an extra fee for that).

Really cool springs! For some reason it was hard for me to find between the three entrances. I enjoy the free parking and $2 park fee there is so much to see! This is definitely a populated spring, lots of people all over in the summer. Would love to come back when a little less populated. Went kayaking out and feel like that’s a must!
edward horalek
Beautiful spring. The water was super clear and cold. The grounds are well maintained. Only $2 per person makes this a great way to spend some time and experience nature, without spending much money. The only problem was that there were so many people in a very small swimming area. I'll be back in the off season.
Rachel Munds
Gorgeous park! Was our first time visiting a Florida natural spring, and we loved it! We went on a Friday and got there around 10am and had no issue renting a tandem kayak. The price is great too, as they charge you once you return, and if you go above 3 hrs then it's just a flat rate for the whole day.
Water is crystal clear and they keep the park and waters pristine. Super refreshing to swim in too after you've kayaked for an hour in the hot sun!
Only warning I'll give is it does get very crowded after 12. If you prefer a more peaceful adventure come Mon-Thurs, as I'm sure less people will be around
Jocelyne Clémençon
This place is on of a kind. Never seen such clear water. You pay a 2$ park fee and they may close the park if there are too many people (according to the sign next to the entrance)
You can enjoy a swim in the fresh water or go on a hike on the trails. Warning for those using the "yellow trail". We have hiked for quiet a bit and it feels like it leads to nowhere. We haven't had a map so weren't sure how far we can go.
KaiLeigh Jordan
This place was beautiful and the kids had a blast as well as the adults! I just wish there was a wider range to be able to swim. Also we weren't able to rent kayaks or paddle boards and were on the waiting list all day. So I suggest getting there early and getting your rentals asap
Angela Willis
Extraordinarily beautiful experience! A clean park with many places to exercise or relax on a blanket in the grass. Pack a cooler on wheels and make a day of it (swimming and kayaking area is far from the parking area.) Mostly handicapped accessible (pathways, and restrooms) but no assistance into water (which is about 8ft deep so only appropriate for good swimmers.) There are places to sit in the shade. Arrive early to avoid crowds. Bring a pool noodle and snorkeling gear if possible. Despite signs and the website, no other pool floats are allowed.
red no nonsense
We went to tube down the river. The river is Crystal clear and beautiful. Although, unlike other state parks, this tube route has residential houses all along the banks of the route. Tube rental and tram package is $24 flat fee.
Plenty of parking, and the headsprings has a large swimming area. The springs is deep though, we used noodles, no tube or floats on the spring. Beautiful, small waterfalls and natural foliage. Park closes at sundown.
John Thompson
What a Bargain. For 2.00 per person you have a GREAT State Park that has finished walking paths, waterfalls, and outside WINTER SWIMMING in 72 degree crystal clear spring waters!!! ALL THIS IN JANUARY!
Bring the family, a picnic lunch (plenty of places to sit and eat) and the Dog (on a leash) and enjoy some beautiful scenery. This park goes way back to the 1930's and is now kept in a more natural state.
Marshall H
Rainbow Springs is a special place with absolutely stunningly clear blue water. It's a popular place so make sure to arrive early if on the weekend. A short walk from the parking lot takes you to the entrance where for a small fee you enter with the gift shop that also includes snacks and drinks directly behind it. A short walk down the semi steep path takes you to the swimming hole with grass areas on the right and left on either side to leave your belongings. It's best not to take valuables or anything you don't want stolen because I have personally witnessed someone who this happened to. The swimming area is deep with only a dock to dive or climb down off of (stairs exist on the far right for those so inclined. Passing the swimming hole the path will take you to the stand where you can rent kayaks and take them downriver or launch your own craft. All in all this place has trails and pavilions that offer something for everyone.
Crisa O
This was my first time at Rainbow Springs. It was so beautiful. We got to the park soon after it opened hoping to beat the crowds. There was a lot of space to set up a blanket on the grassy areas or picnic tables. We went swimming almost right away, the water was cold but so clear so refreshing. There are also trails to walk on which are shady and cool. We made it to the waterfall and walked for a while futher. Then we went back to swimming and snacks. There are also areas for tubing, kayaking, or paddling boarding.
Lynn Woodley
This place was awesome. I talked to a Ranger and he said that one could not see any of the springs in the swimming part. I saw several with a swim mask, and lots of fish. The swim area is deep. They allow no floats except noodles and blow up long floats that you can hang on to. Several ppl in front of me had to stash their floats where they thought they'd be safe. The water is cold but you acclimate pretty quick. Bring a snorkel and mask. You will not be disappointed. The place is just beautiful. You also have to walk quite a ways to get to swim hole.
Manuel Moreau
I have been in other similar parks, but this one is by far the best! From areas to walk, to swim, to kayaking and just spending day with your loved ones, this place is over the top! Add their park volunteers kindness and you'll have a great time. Highly recommended.

What a Beautiful Florida Gem! I visited yesterday for my first time. The Spring and Waterfalls are Amazing. It was cool to see a deer feeding and otters playing in the Spring. I will definitely be back to explore Again!
Ron Tiah
An absolute beautiful gem, well kept and maintained and it is pet friendly, your dog must be kept on leash and is not allowed in the water.
I took my dog : Benji and i think he loved walking the grounds as much as I did. I have a Florida State parks pass which was honored and so the $2 per person which is easily and well worth it was waived!
There are many picnic tables, walkways and a bathing area and a kayak rental area.
My words cannot do justice to this beautiful park. Will be back
B Robb
I had a wonderful time here.
Swam in the spring and snorkeled.
I saw lots of Bluegill, bubbling sand pockets at the bottom of the water and I saw a Catfish and turtle.
No lifeguard but rangers were nearby that blow their whistles if someone swims past the swimming barrier.
Only 2 dollars to get in. This is one of my favorite places to come when I visit Florida!
Lanie Yarbro
I love this Spring. I was able to swim here. Then after swimming we walked toward the visitor center and took the path down that leada to a beatiful cascade of waterfall. Love it. We didn't have much time to walk towards the nature trail thought but this State Park has a lot more to it that just swimming. Based on the sign this park used to be a Zoo like place. It explain the nice wider concrete walking path and all around the park.
Patty Nordine
Great place to go. Went on my first kayak trip. They also have a trail that leads to a water fall. It also has a gift shop and pavilions. Need to get there about 2 hours before they open. Wait in line they open at 8am. Go straight to check in. They only let in a certain amount of people. You can go back to your car but have your receipt with you to get back into the park . You won't get back in if you leave the parking lot. They were closed an hour after they opened the day we went.
Aimee
State park with a beautiful natural swimming area with crystal clear Caribbean like waters! Well maintained walking paths that wind through the park. Plenty of parking, picnic areas, and restroom facilities. Nominal entry fee. Beautiful place to walk through nature and enjoy the great outdoors!
Max Headroom
Beautiful park! It was a shame that not all of the waterfalls were operational, but it was worth the walk through such a spectacular park trail to find Bliss. But the most amazing thing I found was in the picture I took at the spring head with the bent palm tree. Nature's artwork in the spring vent...
Peter Rutlin
This is one of Florida's Best Kept Secrets. If plenty of parking it's not crowded and swimming is outstanding. There's nice waterfalls and easy walk around touring the park.
Have a great gift shop too. The place is spotless and well maintained
Kathy Land
We went for the waterfalls but one had no water at all. The walking paths were well-paved. It was sad to see the remnants of what was. There used to be a small zoo and stables. The springs were pretty and accessible. The water was beautiful and clear and we could see fish swimming around our feet. Unfortunately because it was January the restrooms were closed as well as the gift shop.
Luis Olarte
The energy in this place is beautiful
The temperature of the spring is so cool. But you take a time to swimming you body adapting to the temperature and you can enjoy the water.
Important when you arrived the part do the reservation in the kayak are to take a time on the boat
Kym Zaja
A beautiful place filled with nature and waterfalls, kayaking and swimming! They have a nice gift shop and place to eat, however, I got there late on a Sunday and it was closed so idk what kind of food they have. Bathrooms and shower houses are available as well as camping. I'm definitely going to camp there someday! Only $2 to get into the park! Definitely worth it!
Dave Gottshall
Fabulous Park, we camped in the campground area of the park. From the campground you can kayak up to the head springs of the park. This is not the place to go if you are looking for manatees. However the water is crystal clear. There is so much wildlife. We saw deer, river otters, turtles, a variety of fish and birds. Highly recommended, whether you just visit the park, or decide to camp.
Please practice conservation. Peace n Love
Muwan
Omg 😳 Such a beautiful environment. The springs are gorgeous, the trails are well marked and adventurous, and the tubing area looks like a lot of fun but there is so much more the experience I haven’t had a chance to explore. Would definitely recommend. …
avril sanchez
It was a nice experience. I went with my family and my dog and she loved it. Entry is $2 per person. I went paddle boarding and it was so pretty! $17 an hour and after the hour, you have partially pay the $17 every 15 minutes.
Scott J
This park is amazing. So many places to adventure to. Whether you want to visit for the day or camp for the night, you won't be disappointed. Kayaking on the pristine waters is at the top of my list. The park staff is friendly and helpful.
Carolyn Maldonado
I can't believe I waited this long to come to this park. This is surreal the water is the clearest you will ever see. It is absolute perfection. You feel immediately connected with God. It is great family or solo activity. If you want to kayak from the State Park to KP hole is a solid hour or more going up. It took me like 2 hours cause we were taking bunch of pictures and we were against current so it took quite some physical effort. If you are not up to it then go straight to KP hole.
Christine Alexander
A wonderful space for to spend a lazy afternoon. The walking trails are easy and beautiful and the waterfalls are just the cherry on top. The water is always crystal clear and refreshing. Will be spending as many summer weekends here as possible!
KBL KBL
We didn't go to the tubing area just the ropes off "pool". It's great when it's not crowded and you want to cool off. Not very interesting for snorkeling. The signs could be more helpful...we didn't check out the trails either.
Gustavo Rozo
Great place to be with friends, family. We got there around 815 am on Saturday morning perfect timing. Weather was beautiful. Water was cold but once you got used to it it was perfect with the heat from the sun. Will definitely go back.
Dr. Jenice Armstead
Thank you to all the staff and volunteers for making my birthday memorable this past weekend (Jul 16). It has been a long time waiting to get a paddle board and try my luck at this fun water sport. For my birthday, Laurie was more than wonderful. She greeted my wife and I, and chatted for a good while with us. She is wonderful … period. Jeffrey made my birthday super special as well. He provided some much-needed coaching on how to get on my paddle board and not fall off … but of course, I landed rear end in the water on the first attempt. It was all in good fun and after additional guidance, I finally made it onto my paddle board and into the water - making beautiful memories. and having some outstanding fun. I can’t remember their names, but there was a boat going to and fro in the water, and two gentlemen would wave, and greet me with several “Happy Birthdays” the entire time I was on the water. What a fantastic birthday celebration. Thank you all for making my day even more special. We can’t wait to return for more fun in the future.
Just my Opinion
Beautiful, gorgeous!! A well maintained park. Put this place as must-see!! Only $2.00 per person to enter! Well worth the price too. You differently get your money wourth. There are so many different activities you could do. Walk the trails after that take a swim to cool off from that little hike. If not walk to the next stop and rent a tube to float around, relax or paddle around in a canoe. Make sure you bring food cause you can have picnic after having all that fun!
Evick Beltran
This is one of the prettiest springs I have seen. The water is clean and crystal clear. Beautiful landscape and scenery. Nice gift shop. Nice to take a walk on the trails they have.
Chloe Easley
🥰 can’t beat this beauty for $2 entry. These rivers and springs weremagnificent! The swim hole was nice but it goes pretty deep immediately must bring your own pool noodle, tubes and bigger floats not allowed. It’s kinda crowded to for the space you have vs number of people if you wanna float long time. So we only got In 5 mins. Decided to rent tandam kayak for first time. $24 an hr and pay after you come back. So no time limit. AMAZING m!!! Crystal crystal clear and we were out little over an hour. Went good mile down and back up you can swim in water after certain point. My phone malfunctioned so no pics but all the pictures people share online are 💯 accurate. Magical.
catherine miranda
I camped at rainbow springs for my 25th birthday and had a great time! The spring is crystal clear! My husband and I tubed down the spring and the springs were cool considering the Florida heat! There was even hiking trails near our campsite to explore.
Daryl Everett
The river is beautiful and lots of fun. The campground could use open bathrooms near the swim area and the option to use the pick up/drop off area that is already built so that you don't have to carry your paddling gear 1/4 mile from the parking lot.
Stacey Mozo
Such a beautiful place to go and spend the day. It is always nice to walk the trails before going to swim in the cold spring water. The water is very deep and the only option is to use a pool noodle to float. They do have them in the gift shop.
Jennifer David
Just beautiful. The guy at the gate was super. He answered my questions and was very nice. The 2 guys at the kayak rental were friendly and helpful as well. It's an hour drive for me but I will be back.
Sheryl Henderson
Lovely campground you can float down the natural spring fed river, takes about 2 hours then the trolley brings you back up to the campsite. The only negative is the day use area is not near the campground. When I drive the rv then I don't have a car to get around to the day use area.
ZRinaldi
This park is gorgeous. Its got lots of trails, swimming areas, kayaking, paddleboarding, etc. Its got everything. Unfortunately, ab everyone in the state also knows this and is there with you. I enjoyed the trails since not as many people are on them, and since I did the yellow trail it was a nice relaxing 3.5 mile loop. $2 entry fee, free parking, and they even have food on sale from 11 am - 3 pm.
Steve McDonald
Had a great time with my wife kayaking. Rough coming back against the wind and current, so decide how u want to start off. Clear water. Many birds and turtles. Relaxing.
Jennifer Cunha
Great picnic area with lots of sunny or shady areas, convenient bathrooms facilities, & a concession stand. Swimming area is small, but cute. Temperature is cold & there is no shallow area. Swimming area butts up to a dock, so you're in or out. There's not a lot of dock to hang onto
Michael Dortmundt
Rainbow Springs State Park is amazing!
This was our first visit, but definitely not our last.
Unfortunately, during our visit (on May 2, 2022), two of the three waterfalls were down for maintenence (Rainbow Falls and Seminole Falls), so we only got to see one, but it was a beautiful display.
I look forward to seeing the other two waterfalls on our next visit.
You can rent kayaks, canoes, and tubes. We plan to do this when we return as well.
The nature trail is beautiful, and takes you to each of the waterfalls, a very short distance from the entrance.
The Spring is incredibly deep and crystal clear! It's gorgeous! A perfect place to swim or relax on any hot day. We visited on a Monday afternoon, and it wasn't crowded at all, there were very few other people.
The entrance fee is only $2 per person and that is incredible! It is definitely worth checking out this beautiful piece of nature if you've never been. If you have, it's a very good idea to go again!!! We will.
Highly recommend!

There are several big vehicle parking spots all the way at the end on the right. Perfect for your skooly or large bus/rv
Just be careful over all those speed bumps.
Take your time and enjoy a swim down in the paid area of the day park. Bring a picnic! There is a vast grass area for sunning and pavilions for large gatherings too
Erick Day
This is a beautiful park. Very well maintained. Definitely be prepared to have to walk from the parking lot with your gear. Somewhere between 1/8 to a quarter of a mile with some positive grades.
Greg P
Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area or passing by. The state park has a swimming area and kayak launch by the springhead, or you can go tubing via a different access point further down river (also run by the park system). Can get pretty crowded on weekends so arrive early.
Roger Zitzow
We stayed at the campground. Sites are very private due to dense vegetation (like most Florida SP). Water, 50 amp electric and dump station; 1 bar Verizon. One negative is you have to drive 7 miles to the other part of the park to enjoy the spring and they are beautiful! This is a great base campground if you want to ride several of the exceptional paved bike trails within 15 mile radius.
Joelle Ambrose
We tent camped at one of the campgrounds & thoroughly enjoyed it. Wild pigs even visited our site one night while we were sleeping (scary? Yup. Fun since nothing bad happened? Yup.). The site had water and electrical outlets (for 50/30/15 amps). The office sold wood & ice. We also went SCUBA diving in the river & it was so clear! Definitely worth checking out.
Alicia Polanco
An absolutely beautiful place to visit. Took advantage of walking the trails, swimming in the springs and barbecuing on the grounds with family and friends. Never had an issue with getting in (avoided visiting in June and July because it fills to capacity rather quickly soon after opening). Water isn’t shallow at all so be prepared to swim and/or float the entire time you’re in the water. Disappointed that you can’t bring your own floats into the water (noodles are okay) but don’t let that stop from enjoying a beautiful day at this state park.
Cindell C
Absolutely beautiful!! If you're looking to kayak the river, you'll want to arrive very early, particularly on the weekend! The entire area is an incredible display of color and greenery, butterflies floating past and sparkling waterfalls! Absolutely worth visiting! As you hike along, you can see the fresh water bubbling up from the Springs and through the sands at the bottoms of the clearwater pools. Fish are easy to spot on the impressively clear river and the grass rippling beneath the surface when you're kayaking or tubing down looks like a Monet painting come alive. Picturesque as heck.
Laura Francis
Gorgeous state park. We kayaked to the spring head and saw plenty of birds and wildlife. It was sunny and not to hot. Perfect end to our camping adventure.
Andre Barreto
Wonderful experience ! Well cared for state park with nature trails, a waterfall, and area for swimming in the cristal clear waters or renting kayaks or paddle boards.
Misty Medina
We love Rainbow springs! It costs $2.00 a person to get in to swim, You CAN ONLY HAVE A NOODLE OR LIFE JACKET OR SWIM WINGS as a float device in the spring head. I DO SUGGEST YOU BRING A NOODLE!!! The water is deep and refreshing, A cool 72 degrees and year round. We started walking to our picnic table and was greeted by a sweet you doe grazing nearby, we watched as she ran right by us. Lots of wild life, fish, turtles, deer, snakes ect. Trails are fun and adventurous, You can tube, paddleboard, kayake, swim or just relax! There are bathrooms and dressing rooms. You can bring coolers and food just not to the spring area, dogs are allowed, again, just not at the spring area.
Jana L
What an amazing experience floating down the Rainbow River! So far it's my favorite place for paddling and tubing. The River is wide, making it much easier to navigate (unlike Weeki Wachee where River is narrow, still gorgeous though). One thing to note that there are no manatees in Rainbow River, but there was plenty of other wildlife to see. Also, lots of other visuals, beautiful homes to look at, Docks, boats, etc. We did tubing with Rainbow River Kayak Adventures, which did take us 4 hours, very relaxing! It was 5 of us, next time we might try paddling, but tubing was slower paced and I loved it!
Alek Jenkins
For $2 you get what you payed for. Decent amount of trails and a good kayak area. But the swimming area is so small and only has one area for photos. Honestly wishing for more, but was still good for the price of admission.
Faizan Shaikh
Wonderfully place to go , if you are planning to go for swin make sure you have pool noodles ,swiming goggles , life jacket. Try to reach early so you will have a better place to sit and eat.
Adrian Liddon
We enjoyed a beautiful day walking around the park. It was chilly, so we didn't go swimming. The park wasn't busy in the middle of December, and that was a plus to have most of the trails to ourselves.
OneNomadWoman Wanderlust1000
Absolutely stunning. Water temp a constant 72 degrees, even when it was 32 degrees outside. Yes, that happened in Florida this December! My Belgian waffle loved swimming there and the campground was also great.
Celia Romero
Indeed it is a gorgeous park! It is wheel chair friendly all the way up to the swimming area then from there they have stairs and it's about 6 ft deep. Not nearly handicap friendly for getting in the water. But beside that it definitely is a beautiful spring. With trails and all it does get crowded so keep in mind not much social distance is taking place here.
Ben Lanman
Beautiful spring. Too cold to swim when we went, but the water was crystal clear. The trails have a lot of up and down to them for Florida, but we were able to get a stroller around just fine. No manatees, because they're blocked by dams
Gina Krabbendam
One of the best sup rivers I've ever been to. Way less crowded than crystal river. Clear water, absolutely gorgeous. Park at KP. Go up and down river, or just go down and get a shuttle back. Eat at swampy's after.
Maya AF07
One of the most beautiful and scenic springs! You will love how wide it is. Snorkeling/boating/kayaking/paddle boarding!
Corrie Cooley
I love Rainbow Springs State Park but this year a good many things need repair and it seems neglected. You can't beat paddling a kayak on Rainbow River. But the campground needs some attention.
Warren Long
Kayak from here to Swampy’s is nice, but definitely better options in the area. One side has houses for most of the trip and I prefer the more natural setting of the Chaz or Silver Spring.
Charlie Ryskamp
Wonderful place to spend a sunny day. Bring the kids! There's swimming and paths and a nature trail in the back part of the park, behind the old zoo.
Guncle Charley
Linda Phillips
Beautiful spring-fed swimming hole with trails that wander through the property. There was one active waterfall on the property when we visited.
Noemi Me
We had a great experience you park and have to walk to entrance. It is 2 dollars person to get in and some area you can't bring coolers or food. The lake was so cold but clear you can see the fishes below. So much other activities at a different cost.
Leira Quintana
I hope you can go one day of the week because the weekend many people, that is if you like to be calm and connected with the greatness of nature! It is perfect . 🫶 …
Igor Solovyanchik
Beautiful state park the one down side of coming here is that once they close the park because it's full it stays closed but then if you stay the whole day it gets less and less crowded. Nice spring to swim the only negitive is that there is no shallow part to swim in. Bring noodles. No tunes or inflatables allowed. You can bring your kayak or rent one there. Also paddle boards are allowed. You will get your steps in while bringing all your things you will need with you its a little walk getting to the spring from the parking lot. Nice bathroom facilities not to much grills at the park for barbecues. They have a gift shop and a place to buy food. I would recommend coming early if you want to get in.
Eduardo Mace
This great spring park has the most incredible clear warter springs in Florida. You can kayak, swim and walk the trails of these beautiful grounds all year long. Pets are welcome and can walk the trails.
Adam M
Rainbow Springs is one of the most beautiful springs in all of Florida.
The water is really clear, the hiking trails are well groomed, and the waterfalls are really neat!
They also have a fair bit of rules in place so it does not become a mess like some of the others unfortunately have which is nice!
Alicia Lessard
Very clean. Awesome place to go for a walk for a couple hours. Lots to look at. Activities like kayaking and swimming are available.
Barbara Willis
Absolutely Beautiful State Park and the swimming area was so clean. There is a gift shop and a snack stand that had hot dogs etc. Great Family place to visit.
Adriana Camden
It was a beautiful warm day for a swim. The scenery was a Florida post card. Must visit. We live locally so we at least go once a week or twice for a picnic, on the field or shelter that have a electric outlet ; they also have mounted charcoal grills. Bring those hiking boots for the trails, and your kayaks , no lounge floats allowed in the swimming area.
Andy Geiger
Great place for a quick stroll. A few bucks to get in per person, but the waterfalls and scenery made it worth it. This is a great place for a few reasons. Rent kayaks, swim in the spring, walk the dogs on a nice paved path, or go on the yellow trail and off road it (easy hiking) 😀. While it does get busy, there is usually plenty of room to branch out. Best view is when you first walk in and to the left.
Desyre Arnold
Gorgeous area. Springs are extremely clean and well kept. Swimming areas and sandbars all throughout. You can rent kayaks, canoes, paddle boards or tubes. The paddle up the river was pretty easy with a nice float back. So much wildlife to see, we easily spent 5 hours here.
Abhijeet Kadam
What a wonderful park. The blue water is so pleasant to look at and great place to take swim or go Kayaking / paddle boarding
Stephanie Busick
This place is gorgeous! Very beautiful place to spend the day! Staff are not very knowledgeable about the park though! Little older lady with blue hair in the gift shop was super sweet and helpful! Definitely will be back again!
Daniel Boyington
This is a beautiful place. Not my favorite spring in Florida by any means. I don't like that the water access is you have to jump to get In the water there is only one ladder in and out with you have to compete with small children ant teens. Ide like to see more ladders and water accsess. Outside of that this place is gorgeous the falls and walking paths a beautiful. If you like kayaking you will love this river. Its crystal clear and cold year round. Igo here for kayaking and go there a couple times a year as a couple with my girlfriend and as a family with kids def recommend it.
Misti Kehoe
Peaceful and beautiful, such a treasure we have!! 2.00 entry for the day, you can rent a kayak or paddle board and explore tte crystal clear waters, or swim. Old Florida at its best!
Peggy Leach
Beautiful place. Flowers blooming crystal clear springs. Pretty cool water. Nice grounds for picnics.
Richard and Julia Keirns
Wonderful place. Enjoyed walking to the waterfalls. Beautiful water. Did not swim.
Graziella Callado
Absolutely magical.
There’s only one designated swimming area so make sure you come early so you can enjoy the nature without any chaos or children yelling. Again, there’s only one swimming area.
You can walk around the park and enjoy the man made waterfalls, and nature.
It’s truly a magical and embracing experience when it’s not full.
Jones2Journey Betty (Jones2Journey)
What a beautiful state park! The only place I've seen waterfalls in Florida as well! Absolutely breathtaking area and the volunteers and employees are so sincere and helpful.
Anthony Ebert
Awesome and beautiful place!!! Very nice park. Swimming, kayak rentals, fishing and more!!!
francisco crow
Great place, very relaxing ...
At the swimming area the Water is deep not for kids unless you have a life best or arm floats.
Nice place to walk around...
amanda perkins
Had a lot of fun swimming in the spring! Water felt nice. 72 degrees. Park also has walking trails and waterfalls.
Dave Shallbetter
What a great State Park Campground! As to the park itself , it's sad the park's waterfalls aren't all working, but we were told they're waiting on parts for the 1950's systems.
oddlyegged idk
When visiting Florida, I definitely recommend going to a spring, especially rainbow springs. They have tons of things to do like trails, swimming, and they even rent out kayaks, canoes,, and paddle boards. The water is absolutely gorgeous and as is the wildlife surrounding. There is a gift shop as well, and admission to enter the springs is very cheap. When first getting in the water, be careful for the chilly temperatures as this is a natural cold water spring. Anyway have fun kids
Gail Kloepping
Second time to kayak here. Had a beautiful calm weather day. Weekday paddle so few people out on rive, perfect.
J F
What an amazing place to take a family bring a lunch an go swimming go for a walk see some waterfalls all in all an amazing time food was not pricey an parking was nice
Myra Ortiz
Wonderful trails, waterfalls, canoeing, swimming in spring fed area. Oh, picnicking. Updated clean restrooms. Adventure for all ages.
Becky Castillo
We camped at this park 12/11-12/16/22 on site #26. Which was very nice and offered plenty of privacy. Bathrooms were very clean and washer/dryer available & very reasonable. We kayaked the river and it was absolutely wonderful! So clear and beautiful. Nature at it's finest. Plenty of wildlife. Birds, turtles & a huge gator. We swam in the spring (before I saw the gator) at the designated area and it was wonderful. If you're an avid walker such as I, you're very limited. The campground isn't very large. Camp hosts Bonnie & Kenny was very nice & a joy to speak with. My husband enjoyed the nearby golf course & spoke very highly of it. We will definitely be back to this State Park.
Sonja G
I absolutely 💯 loved it. Be aware that there are rules to follow and they have a zero tolerance policy. You will be escorted out of the park. They are there to protect the resources. I respect that. It is one of the best experiences I had so far. …
A G
Great place to spend a day. The grounds were nice and well maintained. The spring is amazing. Crystal clear water with a white sand bottom. Bring a snorkel or goggles, it's like swimming in an aquarium. The water was cool and refreshing on a hot day. The gardens were nice to walk through as well. I'll definitely go back to do some kayaking.
Empress
The park was beautiful. My family had a ball in the crystal clear ICE COLD water. Beautiful scenery, free parking, and the $2 entry was surprisingly cheap.
J C
Visited from south GA. Had a nice time swimming and tubing and the park is well kept. My only regret is not checking the hours for the gift shop before hand. I really wanted some souvenirs to bring back but they were closed that day. Other then that its was a beautiful experience.
Dee
Love Rainbow Springs!
Went snorkeling from the swim area at the campground. The water was shallow there and there was some brown moss in the water at the steps but the water looked pretty clear. Didn’t see any fish out in the river though. Just a lot of grass. And I only saw a few small fish in the swimming area. My husband said he saw a couple of fish out in the river.
Glad I wore my fins or I would not have made it back to shore due to the swift current.
Even though it was 1/2 mile from the campsite to the river we were able to ride our bikes there.
But we had to pack up and drive 7 miles to the head springs to go swimming. No fish in the swimming area to speak of but the water was clear and cold. You get used to it quickly. Just be sure you have a dry towel handy.
meli echeverry
Crisp clear cool blue waters. A large section is marked off for people who want to swim. A deck to jump off into or steps to walk in if needed. A long bench on the walkway above the deck to set your items. You can Canoe, kayak, paddle board. Bathrooms are available. Amazing. I didn't want to get out. I took a partial photo of the bench, but it is much longer. Go you won't be disappointed
Miranda Riley
It's so beautiful it feels unreal. Absolutely will return. Floated and swam. Just amazing!
Ariel Lherisson
Spent the day there with my family from 9 AM to 5 PM. The day was full of activities from swimming, kayaking, and walking the trails. Recommend going on a weekday for some peace, swimming noodles as the swimming area is a little deep, and bringing a tent.
Mike Miguel
The Park is beautiful, and the Spring is refreshing cold. However, the campsite does not have many trees to separate the campsite and to close to each other, so expect none too little privacy. It's great for those family 👪 who like to sleep in early and don't care about much privacy. …
Marlene Del Pilar
Very clean and well kept park, there is an entrance fee of $2 dollars, but won’t regret it it’s amazing, have nice swim, or kayak experience. So much to see and experience for yourself, don’t miss out.
C Rod
Beautiful spring! Come in the morning when it's peaceful, take in the sounds of nature and look at how beautiful the water is. Just a few steps away from the spring, you can rent kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and the crystal canoe, as the dock crew assistant said, it's like a floating bath tub, you can see thru the boat, but taking this particular canoe has restrictions, but it's still a great adventure. You are allowed to bring your own floating vessel, just pay the $2 fee and take off from the loading/unloading dock and your golden. There is an area set up for picnicking, a short order place for food and a gift shop (although, the gift shop was not open ☹️) There is also a walking path that will take you to the waterfalls. Great place to hang. Enjoy!
Sabrina Rangel
Fantastic way to spend a day. Get there early bc they reach capacity close to 10am and do not allow any more entry. If you’re kayaking or paddling start there. We had to wait from 11-2 for a yak due to lack of life vests available. Take a cooler full of snacks and your snorkel gear. There is a concession stand. The hiking is nice too. The trails are very well maintained. Credit cards are accepted. :) The park dies down around two and hardly anyone there by 3. They close at 6 although I think the website said 5.Park rangers and staff were super friendly too. They seemed to all enjoy there job. The gift shop is mostly junk and needed supplies… say replacement shoes and it’s also inexpensive.
Luann Lane
For a $2/person entry there is a lot to see and do!
This place is truly beautiful with crystal clear water and natural setting. You can see where the natural springs feed the Rainbow River....such beautiful shades of aqua and turquoise! There's a swimming area, picnic shelters, many trails where you can see 3 waterfalls (only one actually flows but it's beautiful), an abandoned zoo, and benches placed here and there for resting or just quietly enjoying the sights and atmosphere.
It is handicap accessible but I'd recommend only to people with motorized scooters or power chairs, or a very athletic helper to push. There are many uphill and downhill parts to the trails that would be extremely difficult for a regular wheelchair.
If you keep your entry receipt you can even leave, get lunch, and come back in without paying again.
If you visit during the hot summer a short swim will cool you right down as the water is at a consistent 72°.
Beyond the swimming area there are kayaks available to rent. The river beyond the head springs is beautiful and clear as well. You can see to the bottom except the deepest areas.
Please use the trash cans and don't pollute this natural beauty!!!
Shelby Bedford
Gorgeous water! Easy parking and easy kayak or canoe entry
Jenny McKay
We stopped in about an hour before closing so visited about 20 minutes. Very picturesque and the swimming area was very clear & clean. I really wanted to show my husband the area where you can inner tube down a ravine in the crystal clear water, (that I remember in my younger years), but we were headed home to Connecticut and didn't have time to stay an extra day. Would highly recommend visiting for a day of stress free enjoyment
Heather Anderson
Beautiful and an amazing way to spend your day for sure!!! Definitely do it if your thinking about it
Ileana Garcia
Beautiful place. You can walk the trails, have a picnic. They have covered picnic tables and benches or you can lie on the grass. The water feels very cold at first but it's great on a hot summer day. Waters are crystal clear. You can go kayaking. It's a great way to spend your day 😊 …
Natalie Brewster
Great swimming! Swimming hole could be larger, but it was a great spot to explore and clean cool water. Park staff was on top of everything and it felt very safe. Very reasonable price for swimming. Bathrooms could have been cleaner. Overall great experience
Ming Vasquez
Nice place if you like the outdoors and swimming in a clear narueal spring!
Kalieb Benge
Me and my daughter really liked this place alot not a huge swimming area and did get crowed pretty fast but to avoid that just get there close to opening. Also its all deep im 6'2 and there's only really one spot I can even reach so bring a noodle or something to rest on especially for the kids and just so u know there are no tubes allowed!!!
Kari
Beautiful park. Only $2 admission a pleasant surprise. Water 72 degrees 365 days a year. You can see it bubbling up out of the ground. Very cool. Rent SUP, kayaks & canoes. Leashed dogs welcomed!
Grace
**Warning, renting a canoe will test your relationship** Haha, my hubby and I rented a canoe to go down the river. It was absolutely gorgeous 😍 ❤. The water was so cool against the rays of the burning sun. The clear water looked refreshing, we saw wildlife along the banks (no gators though). My daughter and cousin took a 2 person kayak and had fun driving all over.
We loved it so much but the steering was definitely an issue. If you want to see if your s/o is the one for you before you get married, take them on a canoe ride. If that doesn't test your patience I dont know what else would lol. Luckily we cooled down our tempers back at the springs. There was only a few amount of people when we went at 1pm. I could've stayed in the springs forever. Go try it!!
Denise Long
Pretty. Been going there since 1999. Hate that the other waterfalls are no longer running.
Lora Latta
We had the best time here!! Only $2.00 gets you in! It’s literally the best place to go on a hot summer day!! Be sure to pack yourself a lunch and bring some folding chairs. We had a blast and will definitely be back!
Idalberto Quintana
amazing experience, if you are looking to get in contact with nature, this is the place. It wasn't crowded, but we also visited on a Tuesday. keep in mind, water is super cold, and very deep. there's also not a lot of places where you can eat, so be aware of bringing your own snacks/food. Bathrooms were super clean 👌 …
Eric Corrow
Quiet. Not much for maps of the walking trails though. Decent gift shop.
Margaretta Patterson
Beautiful experience...we enjoyed the kayak, canoe, & your boat.
Jessica Dragon
Wow! $2/pp to get in! The swimming, kayaking, nature paths, park, Cafe, and more. Totally not what we expected and enjoyed our walk around.
merissa mofield
Beautiful park. Dog friendly. Multiple waterfalls during rainy season, swimming area.
Rita Egelston
Love this place. I take everyone visiting me here. The waterfalls and abandoned zoo, to the amazingly equal swimming area. This place is a must see for sure.
Sam D.
So beautiful. A must go. Bringing your own kayaks and paddleboards (SUP) is allowed but you have to carry it all the way from the parking lot. It's about a 20 min walk. The spring is worth it though. Absolutely stunning. Tons of wildlife, fish, and crystal clear water.
Alicia Hill
Beautiful spring and river! Long walk to haul your own kayak, but so worth it. Very friendly Park Rangers and employees.
Yolanda Pagan
Love this river this is our 2nd time camping and even though the sites are in the open and don't give you the camping in the woods feeling. The spring is beautiful...so much to explore on the river
Joe
What a beautiful place. The water is so cool and refreshing on a hot Florida day. The colors of the water really reflect rainbowish colors. We also did kayaking up the river and that was lots of fun. Didn't see any alligators. It also has a picnic area, gift shop, cafe and parking. Make sure you get there real early on the weekend I'm talking like before 9am. We got there at noon on a Saturday and they turned us away and once they are full, they don't accept anyone else for the rest of the day. The next day we got there at 9am and it was almost full. Only $2pp to use the spring.
Jessica Flareau
Beautiful waterfalls that were only a short walk away (before you reach the hiking trails). Swimming in the springs was a fun experience too. We went on a cool/cloudy afternoon so it wasn't too crowded which was nice. We only wish we brought pool floats for the water since it was too deep to stand
REALITY CHECK
MAJESTIC! More beautiful in person. Water feels crisp, fresh, clean, rejuvenating! An absolute Florida gem to be cherished and proud of! The park is really nice, big, clean and has many restrooms and picnic areas but make sure you arrive here before 8:15am, they close at capacity and you don’t want to miss the opportunity of getting to experience this place.
RV Travel Adventures
We stayed in the Rainbow Springs State Park Campground!
Our favorite part of the park was kayaking on the springs! It was absolutely beautiful! The campground and main park entrance are separated, so we went to the main park by kayak. It was fun to explore the main park and learn about the history of the park! The campground was large, well taken care of, and had good facilities including a big camp store. Our site was wide open, but the majority of the campsites were private and amazing!! Just to note, the campground is not connected to the main park, so you must drive or go up the river (you cannot walk/hike)!
Amrit Patel
I grew up in Apopka near Rock Springs (Kelly Park) and the nearby Wekiwa Springs, which are amazing and 2 of the top springs in the state. Coming back to a FL spring after decades I have to say that Rainbow Springs blew my mind. What an amazing example of FL's best waters! The grounds and facility are immaculate. There are both natural and manicured flora. A huge swimming pool at the headspring with clearest most beautiful water I've ever seen teeming with fish. Simply awesome. If that's not enough there are miles of pristine waters to navigate with even more wildlife. What a truly magical place. One of the most beautiful places in the world (and I have been around the block!!)!!
The Weins
Beautiful park and river. Good parking. But if you are bringing kayaks. Be prepared for a long walk including some downward stairs, to get to the kayak launch. Send otters, gators, tons of birds and fish. Water is crystal clear.
Cri Rojas
Very nice place to have fun with the family and friends.
JoAnne McMaster
Our first lunch at Cheers today and what a treat!! The food is very good! We had the southwestern egg rolls and split the grand park sandwich with potato salad on the side. All three were amazing!! Great service as well, Christina was our server and she was awesome! We'll definitely be back!!
Yaquelin Sosa
the place is very beautiful to walk there is enough space, the water is very clean the bad thing is that it was very cold
Doc McDonald
What a great place for either a day trip, or an entire vacation! There are no words to describe how beautiful this amazing spring fed river truly is. You won't find a more scenic retreat anywhere in the world. So come get a taste of the real Florida! ✌️
Supun B Attanayake
The place is beautiful and unique due to the waterfalls(artificial I guess) and the beautiful pool like bathing area. Entrance fee for the place is $2 per person. Not bad at all. Kayaking and canoeing is available here. The prices are there for an hourly base or a one-day price. The staff at the rental place is quite friendly and helpful.
The water level of the allocated bathing area is around 6ft deep. Tubes are not available. Water is crystal clear and beautiful. Good place.
Roz Dee
There is a $2 entry fee but totally worth it. We went as soon as they opened and found 2 swimmers doing laps. We practically had the whole place to ourselves. Beautiful blues/greens and clear waters. It was a little cold that day so the water didn’t feel warm but we swam to our hearts content
Rob Kramer
This place is magnificent and we only made it about halfway thru it, 100% recommend and will definitely be returning 😁 …
Shania Melton
Gorgeous as always- they have a food stand and great convenience store with all water adventuring needs. You can also launch your kayaks/paddleboards from here- or dock from the river and spend a fun detour here. Be sure to take the nice hike around as this spring has some fun history as well!
Gabriel Cerioni
Show up early! Gets packed fast and feels more like a public pool after that. But when it's empty it's heaven! Crisp clear refreshing water! Cheap to get in. My fat @$$ required 3 pool noodles from the store to float, they are thin. Nice walking trail with water fall and remnants of a zoo.
Jordan S
$2 per person. The overall park is cool. The spring is nice but not as nice as others. Swimming area is small. The only access to swim in the spring is from the floating dock and the water is about 6.5’ deep right off the dock. You better bring a noodle to float, no big floats allowed. Park fills up fast and closes for the day at capacity. Hiking trails could be marked better with a trailhead map of some sort.
Micki Mahowald
The park was so beautiful and well kept. The falls were gorgeous, but the kayaking was incredible! The water that was completely clear, all the beautiful wildlife, in the setting was beyond what I expected. It was so great to be able to rent kayaks for an affordable price and go out on the water. I loved this place and will tell everybody about it.
PickledRaddish
Really cold if your staying still, not a very large swimming area but generally very safe. The gift shop is nice and the employees there were so sweet they have lots of cute products. The employee watching over the swimming area was kind of a Karen tho 🤣. …
Dennis Hearing
Beautiful strolling paths. Water temp is perfect for a "cool and refreshing" dip! Giant duck was seen as well!
Antonio Freitas
Excellente !
We did kayak and it was great.
I swam in the clear water pool at 72 °F. It is the constant temperature of the water in this water spring.
The trails offered nice views.
We did a BBQ with a nice view of the rainbow river.
The bathrooms were clean.
Linann H
Every RV site at this state park has full hookups. There is a campground host staying in each of the 3 loops. Most sites are somewhat private due to the trees and shrubs. The campground has paved roads and clean bathhouse in each loop.
Call the campground office the day of your arrival to ask for the gate code. The gate crossbar is deployed 24/7 to prevent people from accessing the river from the campground instead of the main park entrance a few miles away. A nearby tubing entrance is operated by a vendor that runs a tram between the float tube launch and take-out location.
Kelly Lear
It was fun. The 2 hour trip was about an hour and a half. Should've done the 4 hour but if you do any floating longer than 2 hours you cannot use your own tube. The price is $22 per person whether you use one of their tubes or your own. Little pricey for an hour and a half 😠 …
Anita Lander
The tubing is great but it was not the best 😕 when it came to the hike back. I personally had a very hard 😕 time with that. If you have any breathing problems, I don't recommend it.
Now, at the Springs, the place had a wheelchair ♿️ that I was very grateful for as it allowed me to get to the water 💧 😀. Which being super cold is quite refreshing. 😀
Sheryl Author-McClay
Breathtaking, the smells, the experience! And only $2 admission!
Michael Fisher
A beautiful kayak to the springs from the campground. Very clear water, turquoise and a lot of places. Swam in the swimming area near the spring headwaters!
I don't really recommend kayaking from the campground since you have to take your equipment so far, but at least they had a cart. Launching from KP hole is easier.
Pamela Redmer
Canoe and kayak rentals offer exceptional time wildlife viewing and many springs. Man-made waterfalls enhance the hiking trail. A patio for pick-up food and snacks has a gorgeous view high up overlooking the spring. A large field for sunning and picnics hosts a resident hawk.
Sharlem Rondon
Beutifull to walk around, very small swiming area
Randy Caputo
Absolutely loved this place. Just look at the pictures.
Anuire Catarin
This park is awesome. Nature trails, swimming area, picnic tables. Everything you need to have a day out in nature, without having to set up a tent in the forest. The only drawback is the cost of admission, However- Not a negative drawback as the small price you pay helps with the upkeep of the facilities. Definitely worth every penny.
Jamie Ferella
I only wish i could have stayed longer. This place is beautiful and mesmerizing. The canoe/kayak rentals are super affordable. The water is warm and perfectly clear and turquoise and there is so much wild life to see!
MerIsMe Rosa
What a beautiful slow moving river. All day folks are enjoying the flow on canoes, floats and motor boats. The outskirts of the river are gorgeous for photo taking. We were blessed to visit a friend who owns property along the river.
B B
Lovely trail for a walk or some water activities. Only $2 per person to get in.
charles hartley
Florida has some beautiful state parks, great area with river access for canoeing
Madeline Ramos
It was an amazing place to hang out for the day. Make sure if you don't know how to swim to bring a floatie. The water was freezing but crystal clear. The hike around this place is incredible. The sights of nature. It's very relaxing and inviting. You can also rent kayaks. We went during a weekday. It wasn't super full but if you go on a weekend. You might not be able to get in. You have to get in line super early. Once they fill up to capacity, they make you leave. You should experience it at least once in your life.
Bobbie Necessary
The water is beautiful. It makes the trip worth it. Seen many lizards and frogs. Two of the three waterfalls weren't running but it was still a great way to get some exercise walking the trails.
Ray
Great experience for kids and the entire family. Great for snorkeling, picnics and enjoying the outdoors. They have trails and tubing!
Jorge David Gutiérrez
Serene. Pretty. Some of the areas have evidently been neglected and could use a lot of TLC, but it was a great place to spend time outdoors while socially distant and enjoy nature. The lady at the entrance booth didn't seem too eager to be working but one's interaction with her is minimal so it doesn't affect the visit. Got to see a snap turtle, and 2 deer. Most of the falls seemed dry, except for the one photographed. We definitely enjoyed our visit with our dog (which fortunately they require remain leashed all the time).
Jack Chambless
If you get away from the swimming area and head downriver it is peaceful, quiet and brings you to the real Florida. There is a ramp off the highway leading to Dunnellon where you can put in a canoe or kayak. Turn left to get even more solitude, turn right to head to the crowds.
Debbie Menges
Was amazing can't wait to go back. No dogs allowed.
John Negron
Rainbow Springs State Park is absolutely beautiful. Nice swimming area and kayak park/launch area. They have nice bathroom facilities and outside cafe area. The main 60 foot waterfall is dried out at the moment, but there are a few smaller ones that make great photo opportunities. We arrived via the river on our kayaks from the campground facility about a mile down river so we did not get to enjoy all of the attractions the park has to offer. We will be back soon though.
Xiomara Rivera
Husband and I came for a Nature day out !! Kayaked for a bit once done went back to had lunch we packed from home relaxed. After we a took dip and snorkeled in the clear water. We had a great time.
Samantha Feldman
Very beautiful they have swimming and trails not busy at all
Lindsey Hedrick
I loved this park , it was very beautifully landscaped but super crowded. You have to get there before they open if you want to get in . Be prepared to float for 3 to 5 hours depending on the current and wind . The park meets you at the end and take everyone back to their car . Bonus for a restaurant across from where you get out !
Bobby Dozer
The park is very clean. The water is crystal clear. And there are lots of plants and waterfalls to take pictures of and enjoy with the whole family. It only cost $2 to get in. I will go again.
Richard Petyk
A very nice state park with an incredibly clear spring. Although there are no manatees due to a damn downstream it is an excellent spring to float with tubes or paddle boards.
The restroom was clean and park facilities looked updated.
Iris Brown
Amazing view !! Lovely spring. Definitely bring a noodle. It’s a really deep spring and there’s nowhere to rest in the water. The biggest issue I had was the signage on the trails. I took my grandmother on the yellow trail hike. Her hip started acting up and we were stranded for 2 hours or so. We had no idea of how long or where the exit was and the park wasn’t picking up the phone. Had to send one of my sisters running up the trail quite a ways to call for help.
Theresa Hoban
This was a fantastic state park!! The trails are well marked and maintained, we saw a lot of wildlife including deer, tortoise and many birds. The rangers were so nice and helpful. The swimming area was great and beautiful. Don’t miss this!!
Craig Hensley
We visited this park while on vacation in Florida. This place was recommended to us by a local, and did not disappoint. The park is pretty big and offers some awesome things to see. The spring fed pond, with crystal clear water was really cool to see, and swim in. I would highly recommend bringing some pool noodles, because you cannot touch the bottom at any part in the pool. Swimming constantly will wear you out and you may not enjoy it as much as you think. It’s also a spring, which means it’s colder water then the ocean, be prepared. If you make the trek to the waterfall it’s really cool, but it’s not huge or anything. We had a great time exploring something new!
Heidi Bechler
Even at 8AM on a weekday this place was already busy. The water looked beautiful for swimming and the paved trails next to the river had views of small waterfalls and peeks of the river itself. The nature trails went away from the visitor center and were much less traveled.
Lynn Seevers
Totally awesome springs & beautiful park!!
Karene Barker
We enjoyed our stroll through the park but wish there was money to replace signage to tell you what was in the park back in the theme park days. We guessed at many things like the aviary, zoo and other features. The park seems like it is soon to be reclaimed completely by nature. It would be nice to see some gentle pruning and clearing do that the view is improved.
G
Awesome park. Clear water! We took a canoe out that was amazing! The swimming area is nice but beware of the cold water. The staff are very nice and helpful. The park is very organized and maintained and the staff are also there patrolling.
Mandy Nobles
Absolutely gorgeous park! The water was beautiful. Trails were super nice and maintained very well. The rangers were so nice! Def be back if we are in town!
Leslie Wilde
This was an absolute gem. We truly enjoyed our visit. The grounds were lovely and well taken care of. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a leash. People were out in kayaks and swimming in the spring which is 72 degrees year round. We will be back to swim and snorkel. Only suggestion would be to place dog poop bags/disposal boxes throughout the park.
Patricia Moorhead
Someone needs to get there reservations worked out! Had to vacate the spot we paid for two days sooner that we thought we could stay on! Left and drove down to Highland Hammock State Park! Which is a Beautiful State Park ! No Mold in bathroom and very clean!
Kerry Walker
Pretty cool place to go snorkeling .. water is crystal clear!
Chelsea Rose
Majestic and blissful. You need to know your way around rainbow springs state park to find the beautiful sights. There’s is so much more to rainbow springs than the state park.
Phil King
As always the Florida State parks has beautiful springs, we've been to quite a few thru central Florida and Rainbow Springs is just beautiful, and doesn't disappoint. However, get there early, park fills quickly and no admission after its full, even as people leave. Also, bring a pool noodle so you can float because there is no shallow beach entrance, you jump into the water from the dock and can't just stand in the water, it's too deep. The water is perfect, cool and clear and local exportation is nice. Bring a chair or just throw a towel down on the grass and enjoy the day. Canoe/kayak rental is available and looked fun.

Great place to rent a kayak. The staff is pretty kind and help you to answer all your questions. Definitely going back! We got to see a lot of wild life.

I visited this place for the first time today, 8/4/2020. I love swimming and I’ve heard this place being one of the top 10 Springs in Florida so of course I had to come and visit. It is truly an impressive Park. I’ve got to commend them not only for being wheelchair accessible but for having wonderful staff ready, willing and able to lend a helping hand. A special shutout to Rangers: Parkerson, White & Susan who made my day extremely enjoyable. Upon my arrival Susan asked me about any special needs I might have and called Parkerson & White to assist me with getting the transfer chair up & running. It was a magical day and I’m eager to return. The place is breathtaking, the water is crystal clear. Of course it’s super cold too but that’s part of the fun. In terms of the depth, it is 5ft. - 15ft. They have a big area exclusively for swimming and outside that area you can use your kayak. You can bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages. It’s easy to get from the parking to the swimming area because everything is downhill. If you have a manual chair you might need a push coming back up. I use a motorized wheelchair and was able to maneuver independently.
Both the bathrooms and changing rooms have one area each designed to fit at least a 30” wide wheelchair. Please see pictures provided. Everything was beautiful and well maintained, I would certainly recommend this place in a heartbeat. ♥️

Beautiful Spring and River. No disposable items allowed No cans, bottles, chip bags etc. Water can be very deep and current can be strong so caution to be taken for the novice and young swimmers. Beautiful scenic route for kayaking and tubing. Cool water temperatures. Great experience.
Desiree Pineda
Water was clear and perfect. Was bummed that their tubing doesn’t open until May 1st but we still had a wonderful time just swimming in the springs. $2 was a steal.

Just a Quick Visit But this place is amazing ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Park I love the Gardens and Sweet Rainbow River! It's Beautiful Fascinating and Gorgeous!! I can not say enough I Love Love Rainbow River!!

Beautiful park, super cheap admission for an amazing swimming area and magical waterfalls and beautiful flowers. The butterfly garden is gone and the trails were a bit lackluster but I imagine they're gorgeous in the spring/summer. Crystal clear spring water alone is worth the visit!
TheGypsy Hippie
This was a beautiful park. Lively hike trails. If you like cold water it is amazing. I jumped in twice, but my daughter and her dad swam for a bit on 2 different days. The views were amazing. I do plan to return and canoe or paddle board and also to try the tubing. The price was reasonable and parking was close even at the furtherest spot.
R M
Beautiful place. We walked the trails, watched a few kids swimming. The water and colors are brilliant and amazing. For $2.00 a person this place is Eden. We can't wait to go back when the weather is warmer to swim. Amazing family orientated park.
Sunshine Richardson
Beautiful park! Worth the $2 entry fee. Has walking paths with waterfalls and lots of greenery. Refreshing swimming hole. Kayak, canoe and stand up paddle bards for rent or launch your own for a fee. They also have a few of the clear kayaks which are great in the clear waters I'd the spring.
Katy Spann
We stayed at the state park campground for 4 days. It rained a bit, but it was so much fun. There are so many things to do and see. I would 100% recommend staying or just going out on the water. It was absolutely beautiful.
Krystof Malz
Perfect place to get away from it all. This park has great trails with waterfalls, butterfly garden, swimming area and kayak / canoe rentals. We enjoyed the walk on the trails which took us about an hour with stops by waterfalls. The butterfly garden was very poor at the time but it might be nice during summer. The area where you can jump into the cool spring water is pretty nice with separate area for small kids. You can also rent kayaks by hour but if you take your time ask about "all day" rental to save few $.
Breanna Grayson
Love!! Only 2 dollars a person went twice on our stay in Florida would have loved to go again, spring was about 72 degrees very clear and walk was very pretty. They have a water fall!!
Wandering Blue Jeep
The river itself was amazing! I enjoyed every second of it from the clear water (even though it was partly cloudy from the rain that was about to roll in) to the wildlife hanging out in the water and on the side of the river. Throughout the whole kayak trip it was rather peaceful but as you get closer to the spring head and the further down you go to where the river meets Swampy's bbq you'll notice that it's rather overcrowded by people and you have to watch out not to hit someone swimming without a safety flag.
Po Mi
River water is super clear. I enjoyed my swim here and the cozy trails. I must come back for the tubing next time!
Holly Ballard
This state park is so beautiful! I love coming here to swim or kayak or just chill out by the water. They also have great hiking with some pretty waterfalls and a weird but cool old abandoned zoo complex. And it's only $2 to get in. There's a ton of parking so except for on holiday weekends there is always somewhere to park. Holiday weekends they fill the lot but they always have staff working to try and get everyone a spot.
Moises Romano
Spectacular nature preserve, clean and well maintained. Ideal for camping specially in the colder months, it’s great for short weekend trips to do hiking, swimming, and outdoor sleeping. Also great surroundings and people. Highly recommend.
Bryan Alan Manly #1 Gulf Beaches Real Estate Agent
We stayed at the campground space number 3, it's a drive-through, but it was an excellent location. The people in the office are super friendly; my suggestion is to rent the kayak from the campground office, paddle up to the state park, and then glide your way home.
Candela_ Miami
Beautiful park and staff is most pleasant. I'm giving them 3 stars because the "butterfly garden" is totally run down. They should remove the sign and erase it from the park map. Also, there was no soap in the lady's room and the cafe ran out of concessions.
MMA Prediction Masters
The swimming area is a little smaller than some of the other springs in Florida. The park is clean and well cared for. The only issue is the line you have to wait in for entry. Admission is $2 and you have all day to explore. It is wheelchair accessible and family friendly. A nice piece of 'Old Florida' with modern amenities. *Note* you cannot use plastic/blow up floats unless it is for an infant on the springs side. Only ‘water noodles’ can be used. They are also available for under $3 at the gift shop when entering.
Daniel Pollock
We camped for five days, in a 33 ft 5th-Wheel (site 6). The campground is pretty small, but very nice. The bathrooms were clean, and the grounds are in very good shape. It has access to the Rainbow River, for swimming, or canoe/tube/paddleboard launching. It looks like, in pre-COVID days, they had a tram that runs between the campground, and Tube rental station (downstream). However, not currently open. I hope to go back and try it.
I highly recommend this Park.
Bernard Pita
Very relaxing and stress reliever. Camping was good and loved the coyote, raccoon and opossum in the woods at night. Great get away!
John Shuk
Very nice State Park. Easy access. Just a wonderful place to kayak and hike. Look for the small things to see.
James Fitzgerald
Absolutely gorgeous. Super clean crystal clear waters. The tubing season is over right now but boating and swimming are good to go.
Mathan Senthamizhselvan
Excellent getaway spot! Campgrounds are good, restrooms were greatly maintained. They have tubing, kayak and canoe. The Springs was awesome and there is also a swimming pool if you want to enjoy the water. If you know snorkeling, bring in your kit and get into the water while kayaking.
Lynn Maze
The water was so refreshing and beautiful. The workers did a good job keeping guests in check that were being a bit out of line. Alyssa at the booth was so sweet and helpful. I'll be back again soon!
Summer H.
I have always wanted to visit Rainbiw Springs and was very excited to stop by for the day on our way back home. The scenery is breathtaking. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The water is absolutely beautiful and refreshing. Can't wait to go back to camp and explore the river.
Mona M
We had an absolute blast in this park. We got there at 8am as soon as they open and there was no one beside us except in the pool area. We did some hiking trails, geocaching, and we finished the day by kayaking down the springs. We went with our dog Hayley and she loved it, not only she enjoyed the attention by the friendly staff and the guests, but she enjoyed the scenary as much as we did. In the water we were able to see turtles a lot of them, fishes, aquatic birds and even a snake up in a tree. It was amazing. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Thank you!!
Brandon Simmons
Different than an average Florida spring area, you can’t walk into the springs at all. There’s only a platform from which you can jump into a swimming area, and it’s 10+ feet deep.
But - the big plus of this place is it’s trails. Lots of winding and paved trails, numerous waterfalls, scenic spots, and grassy areas for picnics.
It’s $2 for adults to get in, and is dog friendly. Large store and gift shop on site also.
Vanessa Schrock
Wonderful park!! We go alot. The waterfall's are amazing, the old animal cages are cool, and the flowers in full bloom are so beautiful. If you go enjoy this amazing place, you should jump in the water its cold but so much fun! The natural springs keep it 72% all year long!!
martin marszalek
I love Rainbow Springs! I'm lucky and live 3 miles away and go swimming there often. They get super busy on holidays so arrive early.
Dave Steinlauf
One of our absolute most favorite places in the area! The walking paths are so beautiful and relaxing. The sound of the waterfalls and birds chirping is so nice. Around Christmas time they do a special Christmas lights thing in the evening that is really nice! The spring area is spectacular!
Aimee Lim
If theres a rate of 10 stars this place deserve 10. Its worth the drive. We launch our kayak in K.P. Hole. Staff are friendly and accomodating. Do not bring disposable bottle and can soda. Put your drinks and food in reusable container. They wont allow in the river. Rangers are dedicated to their jobs making sure no ones trashing it. People here are protective of their river. Thank you for doing that so people like us can enjoy. Its 5 bucks to launch kayak and worth every penny and they have shuttle back. Will come back again .
Amber St Onge
So beautiful here! We came here after paddle boarding for several hours with the kids so we could check it out before our many hours back home.
We loved the waterfalls, walking the trails & kids had a blast swimming in the spring. We'll definitely have to come back during the summer so we can have more time!!
Judy Knotts (Hikingnymph)
Nice park. Couldn't believe people were swimming, but then the water temp is 72° year round. Nice well marked trails and a super clean campground. Be warned, summer time brings crowds, overcrowding in the river.
Robert Parmelee
We have seen many springs, but this is by far the prettiest. The park itself is gorgeous with waterfalls and flowers. Swimming, kayaking, hiking. If this park is one of your options.....go here.
Mark Sutherin
We stopped just to look at the park. Beautiful!
Brad Albert
We always have to make sure that we stop by and get a good walk through of this historic park. Wish that this Rainbow 🌈 Springs Attractions would have never closed in 1974. …
skylar walter
absolutely incredible experience! i have been dying to come here for the past year and today we finally made the 2 hour drive up! more than worth it! even on a rainy day, everything was so lush! the best state park i’ve seen in Florida. i was beyond excited to see waterfalls, the hiking trails were the perfect distance through some really unique terrain and it was fun exploring the structure of the zoo from the 1930s. we didn’t even boat or swim, but we’ll be back. $2 per person is an incredible price for a unique Florida experience! this place has a lot of history too, too bad we didn’t get to experience it in its prime almost 100 years ago!
Austin B
Beautiful park, so much to see!
Dan Sutton
Beautiful place, great for kayaking. They have definitely let it run down a little over the years
Andy JM
It's a beautiful spring and the park is well maintained with restrooms, changing rooms, snack bar, and gift shop however, there is not any beach area and it's sink or swim...no "shallow end" here. As I understand it, the water temp is constant year round (approx 72°). There are trails and a large grassy area where you could picnic or sunbathe. If you have trouble getting around you may need assistance because it's a bit of a walk from the parking lot and there is a very steep hill to the water.
Johanna N.
Absolutely love love love this park. It has waterfalls, a hot springs that is ALWAYS 72 degrees with swim lanes, the water is literally crystal clear. I have never seen a more beautiful park in Florida. Was pleasantly surprised, and hoping to go back next year to camp.
scott rhodes
A very nice park to visit they have nice trails and a good place to swim. We went on a Saturday therefore it was very busy at the spring. But it was very hot and its understandable why it was so busy. The water is a very cool 72 degrees and it will cool you of quick.
Wheelie House Wire MESTREZ
Incredibly beautiful. We've never seen such clear water! The Rainbow sea grass is incredible also. We pulled our yaks up and took a dive into the springs!!! Such a quiet peaceful beautiful piece of heaven in earth. Go! Go back!!! Repeat!!!
David Robinson
Rainbow Springs State Park is an amazing natural wonderland. The swimming area features crystal clear water, and serves as a refreshing oasis from the heat and humidity of central Florida. Rent a canoe or kayak, or camp at the park campground to experience the full experience of the deeper swimming holes. Get out and into the springs early in the day to avoid the ever-present afternoon thunderstorms. Please like this posting. Thanks!

Perfect place to visit if you enjoy nature and a day outdoors! The water is so beautiful with tints of greens and blues. The trails are clean and well maintained with views of the river, water falls, and greenery. The trails are lined with information boards about the park as well as warnings of natural wildlife that may be near! Admission was 2$ making this an affordable place for large families to visit.
Danny B
Very pretty and a must visit. There are lots of trails to walk so bring the right shoes after your swim. The water is so refreshing. No tubes or floats are allowed so don't bring them. They do allow fun noodles and are helpful as with no salt it is a little to stay up.
Thelxie Truthfully
Wow! This place is a must. We went on a Monday at 8:00 a.m. and had the entire spring to ourselves for an hour. The swimming area is deep. There is no gradual decline. Once you leave the steps, you cannot touch the floor of the river. Bring a lifevest or noodle, as inflatables aren't permitted. There is a separate shallow swimming area for infants and children. Once the spring started to get packed, we walked the trails to find the water falls. The trails were pretty much empty which was nice. There are informationals along the trail that mark historic points of interest.
Andrea Cavallo
Rainbow Springs is an absolute gem. Beautiful place for canoeing- kayaking and snorkeling. Lots of paths and trails to discover. No tubes allowed in swimming area, only noodles. They do have a gift shop but were out of noodles when I was there yesterday. Enjoy the lush tropical paradise, dont forget your camera. 🌳🌺🌹☘🌾🌿🍃🦋🐢🐟🐠🦀🐚🐝🐜🕷🕸🐿🐦 …

Beautiful spot! We tent camped in the State Park campground and explored the waterfalls, zoo ruins, and hiked a couple of the trails. Rented kayaks at the campground and spent afternoon on a paddle to the Headspring and back...highly recommend this park...whether by foot or water!!
Erick Ocasio
Awesome state park with parking, bathrooms and kayak renting facilities. The water is really clear and refreshing. We rented a double kayak for $22 and with the entrance fee being $2 per person, we spent a nice afternoon for less than $30 dollars. While kayaking we saw birds, fish, turtles and even a small alligator. The staff at the kayak rental place was really helpful and patient (considering it was a little crowded) The state park is pet friendly, they even let our dog get on the kayak with us (small dogs only). This place is a must visit if you are in the area.
Cynthia Borja
What a beautiful place! We camped at the rv camp ground and loved it. From there we rented kayaks and went down the river to head springs. The scenery was amazingly beautiful and the water is crystal clear and a chilly 74 degrees Fahrenheit. Will definitely be back!
Stacy Brown
Loved tubing the river. It's nice that the tube rental is right inside the park. The head springs are fun too. Lots of trails to walk and waterfalls to see, the jump in to the crystal clear springs to cool off! Pay for entrance to one, and get in to the other by showing your receipt.

Rainbow Springs State Park will leave you breathless. From the amazing scenery above and below the water to the abundant wildlife - it’s a place for it all. Whether you’re kayaking, hiking, tubing, snorkeling or interested in wildlife photography- Mother Nature provides an endless variety here. We have camped all over Florida but this is definitely one of our favorites. Cormorants “greet” us from a close distance when kayaking and otters are often observed snacking on fresh crayfish. Every camping trip is an adventure and we are never quite ready to come back home. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and make our stay a wonderful experience. Entry to the main park is free while camping. You can simply paddle up to the State Park which has astounding waterfalls as well as a swimming area. While you are in Dunellon make sure you grab a bite (fried fish tacos) at Swampy’s. They have amazing food as well as the perfect view of the Rainbow River from the deck. Enjoy!!!
true
This is a wonderful place to disconnect. Atmosphere is awesome, water is crystalline green, it's only $2 to go kayaking/canoeing and enjoy the rest of intrinsic trails and water passages. You can take your dog and as long as you take care of your pooch by as you should at any other place and dont bathe him with the rest of mortals in the delimites are, you'll be fine and have a blast. I totally left all of my stress in those clear emerald waters and, dont go where its restricted as we saw alligators on a side :) but hey Its Florida and alligators are part of are beauty too :)
Yolanda Santa Cruz
As other review said, this place is absolutely gorgeous. The water is so clear that you can see turtles and fishes beneath your paddle board. Best place to do paddle board ever!
S K
Parking is free with a large lot. Lots of handicap spaces.
You walk into the park. $2 admission per person. Well behaved leash pets are allowed. There are poop bag stations and garbage bins throughout.
The swimming area is very small but the water is lovely. Dogs are not allowed in the water or on the dock but they’re also not allowed to be unsupervised so I’m not sure what the right answer is if you want to swim and you have dogs with you. I tethered mine where I could see them and kept an eye on them (they are both very social dogs so I wasn’t worried). Bring goggles!
Lots of walking areas - both paved and dirt trails (beware mosquitos on the dirt trails, they’re bad!) There is also a butterfly garden and what used to be a zoo of some sort. Signs labeling various flora and fauna are everywhere.
Bring your camera! Lots of natural beauty.
There are bathrooms close to the entrance.
I didn’t rent a kayak but will definitely be back to do so!
Staff are also very friendly. :)
Kim J
6/26/19 first time here. From parking lot to entrance is like 3 minutes apart and foot traffic only. So if you are here for swimming, bring a wagon with beach chairs, picnic mat, cooler, and pool noodles. There are only 3 pavilions with 6 table/benchs each. Water is clear and beautiful but no lifeguard there. Enter fee is $2/person.
Moran Salomon Gross
Such a nice place.
Unfortunately we couldn't do the nature trail because of a fallen tree that blocked it that day. But we went into the water with our 6, 3 year old girls and loved it. The water is so clear and you can see the sand boils and the fish. It's a bit cold but not too bad.
Shane Mullins
Camped in the state park. The river is a blast as always. We boated up to the gorgeous spring head where there is crystal clear water. You can see turtles, bass, birds and more. Def. A place to bring the family for a day of fun. Just be ready to pull out some dough if you are renting
Tejsingh Rana
Beautiful park and amazing river ....we did kayaking in the river and loved the time with lots of birds, calm and quiet water .....we also went tubing from the tubing entrance ...amazing experience...highly recommended!!!
Ethan Hall
Very clean and offered a wonderful view of the river. I was visiting during off hours so there weren’t many people there but the employees that I did interact with were very friendly and helpful.
Tatiana Hatfield
This place is beautiful! Clear cold water and the most peaceful to relax at and enjoy. Also looking at the houses along the river was very entertaining and for some reason reminds me of New Orleans.
Ryan Weliver
Crystal clear beautiful water, and not too cold either. Find the right spot and the fish come to you. Bring something to feed them. They were surrounding me like they were waiting for food. Also very clean and well maintained as far as the park goes. Your only going to see the fish if your renting a paddle board, kayak or canoe running anywhere from 15 to 30 per hour.
linsey sheridan
Amazing view, the water is extremely clear, but there's no shallow end to swim. Its 6ft. In the swimming area so kids and shorter people may struggle
P B
A place you must visit if you enjoy outdoor activities on the water, tubing down the river is something my family does multiple times a year and it never gets old. We geo cached and hikes the area and just room in the impressive sights.
Doti Haviland (thegirlwiththevadertattoo)
What a great way to spend the morning! We will be back soon with our poodle we didnt know if we could bring her but dogs are welcome on the trails just not in the swimming area. Taking a dip in the spring was amazing as well
Christina Laird
One 1 of the water falls works and this is man made for anyone that maybe in doubt. The springs are beautiful but no manatees come up that far
John Manfred
Just beautiful, great swimming pool and picnic area. Great family spot
jess pickett
Yellow Trail, nice early morning walk
Decent trail to take along the 4-legged
Would recommend bug repellent
Tim Salmonson
$2 will get you in to a beautiful little retreat with crystalline waters, miles of hiking trails and beautiful ponds, an open park and nice facilities for cooking out, enjoying time with family and friends
Ruby H
Beautiful place for swimming with enclosed netting. The water was clear and so peaceful. Short and easy walking trails. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
Whitney (Whitpea)
Absolutely amazing! The kayak place is great! And more on the cheaper side. Won't see any manentee but you do see a ton of other wildlife!
Gardner-Mathews Global Management
What an incredible beauty of a State Park! If you're visiting Orlando, it's definitely worth the drive to this spring.
You can bring your own tube, and food drink (adult beverages OK)! Be mindful that only plastic favorable. There aren't any trash cans around this natural habitat so you need to bring your reliable containers. No plastic plates or cutlery is permitted.
Invest in a cellphone plastic cover if you plan on tubing down the river. You'll regret it otherwise!
Costs
Tickets for access: $15 per person.
Parking: free.

Gallons of water - There's aren't any showers, so you may want to bring a jug to wash off
Towels to dry off
Music & Bluetooth speakers
Zip lock bags - perfect for keeping things
String- so you can easily connect to your friends you're tubing with
Fully charged phone - you're going to want to take pictures and brag about your experience.

Trails and gardens with waterfalls, most amazing 72 degree water to jump in and cool off on a HotFla day. You can rent kayaks and canoes if that's tour thing as well
Jeffrey Gulden
Very pretty park! Bring your bathing suits, but get there early during the summer.
Brittany Holt
This place is beautiful! The water is clean and clear and cold! My husband and I definitely want to revisit this place soon to explore more. The only downside is that you have to be able to swim well if you are planning on getting in the springs. There are stairs that go down into the springs, but there is no standing room/shallow end. Pool noodles and infant floats are allowed though, but if you don't have good swimmers, this might be a spring to skip. However, there are nice nature trails, so it wouldn't be a loss to visit still. Entry to the park is $2
John Mesan
Such a beautiful state park. Took my dog for a nice hike through the yellow marked trail. Would like to return and rent a kayak sometime.
Elkins Dahle
Beautiful with nice trails to walk on, swimming hole, and canoe/kayak rentals on site.
Andrew Sandoval
Nice place. Crystal clear water. Designated RV parking. $2 per person over 5 years of age.
Path To Authorship with Elsa Kurt
Every trip down rainbow springs is filled with gorgeous sights and amazing wildlife. Our most recently visit afforded us a pretty big alligator sighting. Otters, various bird species, and much more on this pristine river make it a perfect day trip. The park, with its waterfalls and nature path are a great break from paddling.
prashanth penukula
The state park is an amazing place....the water in the springs is very clear and clean......you will enjoy this place with family and with friends....we were here with family and really enjoyed the stay here. Do check for any thunders on the day you are planning to visit....if there are thunders heard the springs will be shut for the next 30 min ...
Margaret Carlson
Wonderful place to kayak. Very easy place to unload kayaks and gear. Parking is plentiful. There is a $5 fee per person to enter the river and you get a wristband to wear when you pay. It's not to hard to paddle the river upstream. Continuous current flow will let you drift slowly. No rapids or rocks but there are seagrass sticking up in large areas kinda of a path to follow. Lot of slow moving boat traffic at times. Divers love this place and so do snorkelers. Many pontoon boats take the dive groups up river. I got out on the river while my family was getting there dive stuff together and got up stream before they even boarded the boat to go up. Then i was able to hang out in a safe distance and follow there progress down stream.
Make sure what you bring on the river to eat or drink is in a container that is NOT a throw away. They will fine you if caught with throw away containers. No zip lock bags. Coolers with sandwich boxes or tupperware are great.
Its a beautiful place. Even if it rains. Divers are not effected by rain but luckily I had a rain jacket to put on while hanging out under a tree. Have seen many fish and they love to eat bread rolled up in your fingers while you float. Many turtles lots of birds. Have yet to see Manatees in the 4x's I've been there. They like Hunter Springs more.
The entrance park is very nice place to picnic and the restrooms and changing areas have been clean. There are lockers to rent. They office that you buy your ticket has last minute items and snacks. Even bought a kayak paddle since i left mine at home in a rush to get there.
John Wojtal
Nice for walking, swimming in the spring, or kayaking.
Andie Robinson
We had a great time floating down the Rainbow River in kayaks. It was a calm, peaceful day. We saw tons of birds and turtles. We also got to see three river otters along the way.
Lexi Boudreau
Awesome place to go swimming, $2 entry fee, clear blue water, nice walking paths to a waterfall
Hoa Nguyen
Gotgeous waters, friendly park staff, beautiful wildlife! Go two hours before close to avoid crowded times
Taylor Smith
The springs, waterfalls and nature areas are beautiful and the river is a definite must see. But the state park needs work. The concessions and gift shop need dire improvement. We waited 30 minutes just to get chips and fruit snacks because by 11 they were sold out of their only hot food (hot dogs) and they weren’t going to unthaw anymore. Highly suggest you bring your own food/drink just make sure they aren’t in disposable containers. The restrooms were tiny, hot, and not very well ventilated, trying to change in them was very uncomfortable. Also, the paddle rental place in the park sells out quickly so be sure to reserve yours ahead of time. But the guys there are very helpful and the kayaks are decent quality for the price.
luis alfonso salinas
a beautiful place to be in contact with our mother nature and share with the family in healthy recreation, we would love to return
Jason
One of the best parks if you want crystal clear water to swim in
Jehova Shama
The water was very nice but not much else to do but swim and possibly canoe or kayak, also a very small swimming area food isnt to great but there will be plenty of animals swimming around you
Alex Noe
Out of all the springs I’ve been to in Florida, Rainbow Springs is definitely top five. The swimming area is deep, so a noodle or something floatation wise is a good idea. There are canoes to rent, and some nature trails with beautiful waterfalls along the way. It’s a must to check out!
Alyssa Anderson
Beautiful water, beautiful flowers, so much history behind the park. Florida's #1 most beautiful spring. Come see for yourself and if you had a bad time it's more than likely because you broke the rules and got kicked out. Lol
Jeremy Smith
The water is beautiful!! The park can be very crowded even during the week, that is the only downfall.
Johnny
Rainbow Springs State Park is a very beautiful park especially for kayaking. The water is tropical crystal clear. Looking down in the water looks like a aquarium full of turtles and fish. This place is amazing.
David Greene
Nice park, ADA accessible campground. Beautiful spring head and river with canoeing, kayaking and swimming.
Nolan
Always relaxing to walk through the park and see the different plants and wildlife. A nice place to swim if you don't mind the 72 degrees water from the springs. A very good place to spend a few hours relaxing.
Luis Palau
72 degree water all year round. Nice park, limited facilities for the amount of people they let in. Dogs allowed, no inflatables, just pool noodles allowed. Large property with walking trails. The clientele is very diverse.
Pradeepkumar Palanisamy
A must go place to enjoy spring water. It is advisable to go with life jackets as the pool area is 6 feet deeper from the last step. But the water is super clean spring water. Kayaking is on site and we can bring in our own boats.
Kevin Allen
Beautiful crystal clear water, lotsbof wildlife to observe. Started at KP Hole and ended a Blue Run Ramp. Great for kayaking, SUP and tubing.
Peggy Stamper
The head springs are a great retreat to hike and cool off in the refreshing freshwater springs. A platform is present with a set of descending stars and three ladders down into the springs. Floatation decides such as pol noodles, life jackets, and kid floaties are permitted - however take your tubes and kick boards elsewhere. (Items available for purchase, too) Restrooms, trails, dining, and plenty of space to picnic or sunbathe in the yard area or pavilion, if you arrive early enough.
Derek Fannin
First off, it's beautiful and refreshing! Went early on a Friday, very few people when we arrived, we left around 11:30 and the crowds where coming in. Didn't have a huge area for swimming for kids that are not confident in deeper water.
Carmen Pittman
Nice park with beautiful blue-green water, but there's big spiders ALL thru the park, so if you're not a fan of spiders, you may want to think twice about visiting here.
Rocio interiano
Absolutely gorgeous place, can purchase food or bring your own.
2 dollars per person.
Can also rent a paddle boat or kayak
Iliana Kylie
Beautiful park. The admission fee is really cheap and definately worth every penny. It is super pretty and in nature. I went for a swim, the water was cold but it was stunningly beautiful.
Martha Glenn
Stayed at a private resident's. It was beautiful and relaxing. The river is pristine and perfectly clear. Enjoyed watching people float, paddle board, canoe, kayak and boat by.
My only strong concern was the amount of people who came up on the dock, pier and into the yard as soon as we began walking away from the water. We were expressly told to discourage people from doing this. It is very clearly marked private property. Numerous signs.
The park or those that rent water craft need to make it abundantly clear that it is not acceptable to go on private property. Period.

Clear spring water such that you can see the bottom. Entrance fee is just $2/person, with numerous activities to do. To ensure admission, since it is limited in order to ensure safety of everyone (especially health wise), we came early (7:45am) and waited until the gate is open at 8am. A short drive from it is the parking lot, and hundreds of feet away is the entrance to the state park.
Picnic tables, grass lawn and benches are available near the headspring where you can swim (depth of 10-18feet); no diving and no inflatables allowed. Also, be aware that the water temperature is constant at 68-72degrees Fahrenheit. A short walk away from it is the rental concession for kayak/paddle-boards/canoe, which can be rented per hour or the day.
Take note, that there are 3 entrances to Rainbow Spring, and this review is for the headspring entrance. The other two are for the campground and the tubing entrance.
There is a nature trail and couple of falls inside the park, where we enjoyed a short hike after swimming.

Beautiful blue clearcriver, easy 1.5 Mike hike, waterfalls and wildlife and history
Jay Kinney
Absolutely beautiful, very well maintained. So much to do here. Highly recommend a visit.
Autumn S
Friendly staff, well maintained paths, and lovely sights. You have to be a strong swimmer though, as the springs are over five and a half feet and they do not allow any flotation devices.
Judy and Jimmy Alberts
Very Lovely. It needs more signs at the entrance to direct you to where to Enter. So Sad there were No Manatee.
Michael Ventura
Super organized, lots to do here. Walk, swim, kayak, picnic it's all here. Gift shop, bring food. Vest or noodles are a must as you can't stand in the water its to deep
Felipe Londono
This is an amazing Park, the minute you walk in you feel blissful, it's great therapy walking through the trails and the Butterfly Garden. And how could I forget to mention the amazing Springs, that's literally the Fountain of Youth!
Terry mynhier (TM Travels)
Bring the family what a great spring.nice walking trails and the water is a 10 .don't forget to rent a boat and take your family down the stream so awesome.
bill goodrich
Beautiful and crowded. If you are going to the springs head consider bringing a noodle or small float. Water is deep, cool, and very clear.
W MC
Was a great walk, the swimming place and kayaking look awesome but we just did the trails, I ly 1 waterfall was flowing, but for $2 I'd say it's worth it.
Ruby S
We had a wonderful time there, beautiful area. The headsprings is amazing, so clean and clear, the water bubbles straight out of the ground.
Debbie Forbes Marlowe
Lovely! Nice campsites (no electricity) the springs are beautiful. Not many people there on Thanksgiving weekend. Well maintained section of the Florida Trail.
2011gnl
Love a relaxing float down the river. Beautiful scenery and love seeing the wildlife. Saw otters, turtles, and a few gators! Been coming here for a couple of decades and it never gets old.
Amy Williams
Beautiful park, enjoyed the trails and the waterfalls. Love that our dogs could walk with us. Only wish they had a small area for them to swim or at least get a drink.
Steve Lindell
Great way to see nature and Florida's natural springs and some nice waterfalls. They have a nice dock area where you can swim and kayaking is definitely a must for sure.
Daisy Crespo
Absolutely beautiful place and very peaceful. Loved the waterfalls the most!
alex clifton
This place is a great visit. 2 dollar entry, for some really great walking trails and a awesome swimming area with amazingly clear water. Definitely would recomend and I will be back!
Barbie Swope
This is one of the most beautiful parks in Florida. Lots of native plants and gardens. The walking trail past the waterfalls is a little rough and bumpy but I still love it!
Angel B
Awesome experience! I am a native to Florida and never took the time to check this place out. It's beautiful. It's cold but it wakes up the muscles and joints in your body. Great for the soul. You have to love nature. The underwater experience was wonderful.
Becky Webb
Beautifully kept campgrounds and spring water is refreshingly cold - warms up after you've been in for a few minutes. One of our favorite annual camping trip locations.
Kimberly Brinkley
It was simply amazing beauty!!
Logan
One star off for how crazy popular this place has become. Park was at capacity within an hour of opening on a Sunday morning. That said, beautiful place and one of Florida's natural beauties.
Tara McManus
Very nice park. Swimming area walking trails and canoe kayak rentals.
Kent Huggins
This Florida State Park is a swimming hole over a fresh water spring. The water is 72 degrees year round. There are numerous trails and waterfalls. It is a great place for a picnic. Kayak and canoe rentals also. I reccomend to all to visit.
Juan Velez
Worth the drive. The area is beautiful. Park is very clean and the spring is absolutely amazing! Crystal clear water and perfect temperature for such hot days
Tina Reigel
Beautiful Clear Water, water temperature 72° year round

Jason Pennington
Tubing down the river today was a blast! Very relaxing day with the family. Great way to unwind and take in nature and some very beautiful water. Incredibly clear...but cold! Highly recommend
Peter William
Lovely place to cool off in the water. Entrance very cheap. Takes kayak rental down the river, not too expensive and we'll worth it
susan seadon
Beautiful springs and surrounding gardens. Great place to kayak, canoe, paddle board and swim!
Lexie Birmelin
Get in line early for tubing! It opened at 8 am and 8:45 am wasn't early enough! The swimming area in the park's main entrance was small and water was cool but pretty and fun. Bring your own kayak or inflatable SUP.
Ashelyn Young
It was amazing. It's family oriented. Even tho the water was freezing, it still felt good. It was a great day
Rebecca W Spanogle
Beautiful beautiful that’s all I can say. Cannot wait to go back a take our kayaks
lisa lewis
nice place to check out, dogs on leash are welcome, friendly staff, paved paths are stroller friendly, $2 pet person entry, swimming in roped off area only, kayak rentals were available some were see thru, water was super clear and a constant 73 degrees, no concessions were open during our visit (drink vending machines were available) nice bathrooms inside park...
Kat Ellam
I've been here a million times and it's always so beautiful ! Definitely recommend coming here
Gordon Jessup
Such a beautiful stretch of water for swimming or paddling. The water is incredibly clear and there is an abundance of both aquatic wildlife and birds to look at.
Chelsea A Jaremko
We went to the tubing entrance at 10830 SW 180th Rd. It was just a few dollars per car and they transport you via trolley to the head of the spring, give you a tube and send you on your way. The water is crystal clear and so relaxing.
jeff
$2 entrance, swimming is awesome, looks like you can touch the bottom but I’m 6 foot 3 and I couldn’t touch. Water is cold at first but once you get your body used to it it feels amazing.
Sophie Norley-Moseley
Beautiful park, with lots to do and see. The camping facilities were fabulous. We could have stayed here for ages. We terrorised our daughter with a canoe trip up the river she was sure we were all going to die and then she swam in the same river up stream, go figure. Absolutely wonderful tome spent here.
Ana Torres
Went down the river for a dive. Awesome experience and it's beautiful down there. Next time though, I'll snorkel instead since the water is mostly pretty shallow and maybe wouldn't warrant a tank to enjoy it
SCH Travel
Such a gorgeous park. They have three waterfalls that are easy to get to but are fairly small. Well worth walking the little loop to see them. I’d suggest a floaty if planning on getting into the spring water. There isn’t a way to just walk into the water. It’s pretty deep all around. They have a small gift shop with different things but does not open until noon so don’t rely on it if planning on buying and pool noodle, etc. it’s 2$ per adult and a lovely place to spend the day!
Mama Mia
Scenic waterfalls and a great walking path. Awesome swimming area with kayak rentals (even clear kayaks to view fish or perhaps a manatee)! Friendly staff in the inexpensive souvenir shop.
Amelia Bartlett
Stunning day trip from the Tampa Bay Area - great swimming, lovely views, and a quiet walking tour filled with ancient trees and a few cool critters.
Kim Possible
The water is nice and clear most places, but you can't really stop anywhere along the river to get out and swim. There is a designated spot but there's a docking fee. There are only a couple places that you can dock at, but only enough space for a couple vessels.
The bottom is full of vegetation. Decent fishing. Light current.
Cody Krause
Even though the springs were beauitiful and the tubing was relaxing, if you dont like waiting then you have to get there real early cause when we went there at 9:30, we were told that we have wait for enough people to leave before we got in. We ended up waiting for 2+ hours and the worst part is where we were waiting has no wifi meaning that besides prepping for entering the springs such as putting on sunscreen, you essentially are waiting there bored the whole time. Their website is incorrect as well, the price of entry is actually $24 a person regardless if you brought your own tubes or not also you cant take food or drinks on the river
Tim Piatek
Not terribly interesting, at least the main spring to swim in, and the trails. It looks exactly like you'd expect for an older roadside attraction: a bit run down, with non-functional waterfountains in places, and empty animal cages from when it had a zoo. It wasn't terrible, and the entry fee was so low ($2) it was a good value.
I didn't come to swim (too cold! I'm already a Floridian, I like my water warm!), But the kids enjoyed it well enough. The water is deep, so make sure your kids can swim well.
The nicest thing for me was the large number of giant spiders and insects to photograph.
Lisa Filkins
We had a blast. Yes there are gators in the area, but they don't like clear water. They love murky waters. This is a clearwater lagoon. There are no lifeguards there. Children should not be left unattended. Everyone there swims with noodles because you can not touch the bottom. We swam for about an hour. There are changing rooms, lawns to sit and relax, trails to walk, plenty of parking and a gift shop. The entire area is beautiful.
ashlee i
Absolutely gorgeous! Water is crystal clear, kinda cold, only downside is the swimming area is kinda small but we snorkeled and saw a turtle and some fish. There are walking trails and waterfalls to see all along the beginning area. Great place to take pictures. The best part is floating down the river! Which you can do through the state park at a different entrance and they provide tubes and a trolly for a fee, or many other places along the river where you can do the same. There’s a little concession inside the park but we brought our own food in a cooler.
Front Desk
We have been to this park dozens of times - Kim is our favorite - she is amazing! She is so courteous and informative. We come back to the same spot just for the amazing service 😀 …
Bree “Bees” Harris
Before I say anything, it started thundering so we couldn't actually get in the water but it was gorgeous. We went down to the paddleboard and kayak dock. The water was really pretty. The water was decent temperature and not too cold. Some fish were in the water. There were nice plants all around the walk way to the dock. It was only $2 to get in and if you get a receipt you can come back until they close.
Kim M.
This is an incredibly gorgeous spot to snorkel! We'll be going back many times. We happened to catch mermaids the day we were there! An absolute must for any spring hopper!!
Jesuschik
Beautiful state park, loved the trail to the waterfall, great deep swimming hole, cool and refreshing. We kayaked from Kp Hole to here to swim. Amazing place
Ed Brokhoff
A local spring with family-friendly swimming, boating, hiking trail, and gift shop. A nominal $2 per person entry fee adds to this economical fun day trip.
C. Solomon
We drove 1.5 hours to visit Rainbow Springs from Orlando and it was a nice day trip. There are two parts to the park; on one side there is a 4 hour inner tube only lazy River and on the other is the spring, where no inner tubes are allowed. Although parking is limited in both areas, the inner tube side has overflow parking and a bus that will drop you off at the park. Very convenient! The springs side is at least 8 feet deep and they do allow and sell noodles on the property. There is a roped off kiddie area where I spent most of my time 😊.
Jessi Knoof
Beautiful place! Florida state parks are always on point, with nice facilities and a low admission fee, very well kept and clean. Great place to enjoy the crystal clear spring for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, etc. Nice place to take the kids for a swim! We liked the trails and waterfalls. Definitely a must see when in the area!
Hans B
Very nice place to swim. Large pool and super clean water. Also walking trails and rental kanoes to go udown the river. Large field for recreation. Only $2.
Dianna Dyer
This is one of our favorite places to visit. We loved walking around and seeing the waterfalls and swimming in the spring. There water is so clear! Kayaking is the best, though.
Pam Gholson
This is a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the very cold spring water. The entire Rainbow River area is just gorgeous, I'm in love with it and will be back 😍 …
Osvel Molina
Just go you won't be disappointed and walk the grounds they have tons to offer. Great spot for pictures. Keep an eye out for otters yes otters
John Maisel
Great day trip. Lots of hills, wear comfortable shoes. Cool off in the Crystal clear water. Picnic areas available. Be sure to check out the waterfalls and the remains of the old zoo.
Brian Leach
Very pretty but really only when the sun's out. That's when it looks the most beautiful. Water is very very cold so cold it takes your breath away.
Daniel Jaramillo
Beautiful park! Very clean and organized. Swimming area is very nice and decent size. They also have a smaller shallow area to the side for kids.
Kayak rentals are a short walk away from the swimming area and prices are fair. Beautiful kayak area down the rainbow river.
Kate Brinkerhoff
What a beautiful park! Recommend going early to walk the trails when it's cool, avoid the crowds, and jump in the rainbow river in the afternoon as it warms up. Bring a picnic and plenty of water and you could make the perfect day! Half of the trails are nicely paved for strollers and wheelchairs. This park is a wonderful break from crowds and commercialism, and is only $2 for admission!
Ashley Brock (WildPagan)
I love this park, the history is awesome, launch ramp is excellent, swimming is so-so. Come early in the morning or late in the evening otherwise it’s super crowded. The pictures you can get at this location are absolutely amazing and there’s lots of neat geocaches here along the trails.
Eddy Prieto
Beautiful peaceful place to spend the entire day or a few hours. You can rent kayaks, canoe’s and they even have a single rider glass bottom canoe for rental. Gorgeous ride along the river. If you get hot or tired plenty of places for swimming. They also have tubing. If you haven’t visited this park you are truly missing out on what nature has to offer. We will return.
Kendra Cubit
Absolutely beautiful and fun place! The water is crystal clear. There's
hiking, swimming, and kayaking(extra fee)!
Jonathan Segarra
Amazing place to visit. The water is very cold 72 degree but it was fun. If have a chance to visit please do it
Alexis
This place has been a favorite since the late 90's. Make sure you bring enough noodles because the swimming area is deep. You can walk around and see some of the old structures that use to house animals, and there are beautiful man made waterfalls. You can rent kayaks as well.
Justin Wessels
Crystal clear waters. Quite large swimming area. Kayaks as well as clear bottom ones are available to rent. First time impressions are good.
Angela Cherry
Beautiful place to swim 👙☺️ but the shallow water is 6 feet deep so not exactly for small children. It was worth the 2 bucks just to see the wildlife and natural springs. …
Erica Bryant
Amazing place to snorkel and have a great time!
only 2 Dollars! to get in and very refreshing spring! Def worth the trip
Joe Jumber
Awesome River!! Beautiful water and nature!
Jonathan Ocampo
If you dont know how to swim, this is not the spot for you.. if your bringing kids.. make sure they have floaties or a vest. Its really deep, and cool place for diving jumps! Other than that.. awesome place. !
Scratch Your Mapa
This place is so beautiful! We had such a great time and loved our guided tour here with Get Up and Go Kayaking
S
Absolutely beautiful and well maintained by staff. Lots to do. Visited twice & we weren’t disappointed! Must see
Jennifer Prescott
Stunning park with trails, small waterfalls, swimming, and boats but the water is very cold and deep. I enjoyed it immensely but others in my party couldn't get in the water as the water temp is about 70.
Archana Maurya
Absolutely beautiful view and Crystal clear water. Small area for swimming.Nice and clean changing rooms and restrooms. Well maintained camp grounds.
Martin Armstrong
Beautiful place we will be back!
Enjoy Life
BEAUTIFUL spring state park. This is one of my favorite places to go kayaking. I do not mind driving 4 hours to go kayaking at this state park.
Ravi Teja
Don’t have much space to swim like other springs but great place for kayaking. Also, renting a kayak is bit expensive, would recommend getting your own kayak.
Vaughn
Great place to be at this time fun and social distancing at its best. Kayak rental team is very professional and the place is fun for all
Jacob Schrepel
Great place to hike, lots of scenery and wild life. Also check it the swimming area it's pretty awesome!
L Square
Great place to cool off and enjoy with family and friends. Eggs , bacon and pancakes with blueberries, bananas and chocolate chips is recommended at the pancake house.
Wendell McKee
Crystal clear water and a 73*F water temperature year-round make visiting this park a must during summer! Rainbow Springs State Park is a great place to go for family outdoor recreation!
I recommend the 2-hour tubing trip. A ticket for the 2-hour tube trip will also allow entrance to the Headsprings so hold onto your receipt. After tubing you can go to the nearby Headsprings for lunch. At the Headsprings you can buy food, rent kayaks, go swimming and avail yourself of other services thus allowing a full day of uninterrupted fun at an very affordable price point.
So regardless of whether you are based in the area or just passing through don't miss out on a chance to cool off at this natural wonder.
Carolynn Yothers
I can't think of a better way to spend the day for only $2. The park is clean, and the water is so clear! Volunteers are so knowledgeable and friendly!
talon 12
Fun little walk to a few waterfalls & a beautiful spring to swim in afterwards. We loved the concession stand deck area to sit and relax in after a walk and swim.
melvin chung
The 2 hour lazy tube ride is awesome, take your underwater mask and just float... the water is super clear, you'll see many fishes, turtles and even a family of otters...
Takisha Robinson-Lopez
The park is absolutely beautiful! Nice experience for hiking, swimming, kayaking, picnic, etc. for all ages.
Adam Pollock
BEAUTIFUL CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER!!! One of my favorite spots to paddle! Because of the water clarity & constant water temp, it's an AMAZING place for swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving. The current is constant but not heavy (a beginner can paddle against it without an issue). The wildlife is abundant & beautiful. Did I mention that water is AMAZING!!!?
Shanna Stevenson (Savvy Snickerdoodle)
This place is so cool. The Falls are gorgeous and the walking trails very well kept. The clear spring water is awesome. Love that it's dog friendly and the person who took ur $2 admission even gave the pups a treat. Everyone who worked their was friendly and the park is very clean. Awesome pitstop on our drive home.
Ray “Ray-Ray” Paugh
Gorgeous place to swim with your family but they need to fix a spot for kids to get in and elderly just a little easier than it is.
Matvey Chuklanov
This was my second time here in the past two years. Loved it. Was the highlight of the trip. Not expensive and very enjoyable.
C AJ
Spring is so crystal clear, perfect cure for Florida's HOT summer days. Make sure to snorkel, you will never forget how beautiful it is. Perfect to kayak, we even saw otters!
Derek Hendriks
Stunning park with clear water and waterfalls. Take a swim and a canoe trip over the springs with amazing wildlife. Absolutely a must see in Florida.
Henry Karasch
Open 8am to 5pm Not on google at time of post. This was a great park with very nice high shade hikes for this state and well marked. Very clean!
Dennis Phillippy
Stayed here at the campground site. The park is very scenic and pretty to look at. It seems to be well kept and clean. You are allowed to swim in in designated areas of the park. They have a common area which you bring blankets and chairs and even grills to set up for a nice day out. They have kayak rentals but we launched our own from the campground launch area. Which also has a swimming area but it is really small. The campground is nice with lots of shaded spaces to park your RV or just to pitch a tent. I would recommend this park.

This is a very nice afternoon -- beware, that during busy, hot weekends you may need to circle around to get in. But, for $15 bucks a person you get a ride up river to plop a tube in and float down the river. Bring a cool drink and a water proof camera.
Manuel Cabrera
Clean and nice picnic area and restrooms, the entrance fee is ridiculous. Kayak staff awesome and very diligent. And the most beautiful spring in Florida
