Reviews of Honeymoon Island State Park
Hillary Attar
Beautiful spot and fun place to shell hunt, and snorkel around. The water is calm and warm. Lots of rocks so bring shoes. There's a little Cafe with food and drinks and seats with ocean views while you sit and eat. Nice changing rooms and restrooms. It was very busy on the weekend get there well before 5 to get a good spot. Costs $8 to enter the park.
Trevor Brooks
Absolutely gorgeous beach at the north beach spot!! Natural palms on the beach to rest under and not too crowded on the weekdays we were there. Great place for sunset. I would avoid on a holiday. One lane in and one out. It was a very long wait in traffic on holiday weekend. We got in easily all other days.

Honeymoon Island has a little something for everyone. Swimming , shelling, hiking. Or you can just sit and relax and take in the view and listen to the water as it crashes against the shore.
Also a huge playground with covered picnic areas. Perfect for hosting your event. There's also a great dog beach. Where dogs can also enjoy the water and the sand. There's also a cafe in the main Beach.
The county sure has tried to keep the rocks to a minimum. South Beach still has a lot of rocks. But Oasis is beautiful not quite as Rocky. Another Day in Paradise!!!
Whitney Williams
We went here for the dog beach experience. It’s a pretty spot and big beach. Dog had a great time. Most dogs are leashed. A few well behaved dogs off leash. Three things to know: 1. it’s a pretty decent walk to get to the beach from the parking area so if you have mobility issues, this is not for you. 2. the beach has a lot of burr brambles scattered about. Wear water shoes or sandals that can get wet. You have to wade through about a foot of water to reach the beach. 3. Some days the mosquitoes can be aggressive so bug spray may be a welcome addition to your beach bag. If you are prepared for the above, you will have a great time and your dog will love it!

Might have just been the day we were there but the traffic to get in was horrendous! Didn't help that there is only 2 booths to pay at to get in. But once you're in you have multiple beaches to choose from. And the bathroom shacks are unique. I absolutely loved watching the sunset over the ocean. I think we went to Oasis Beach. I layed on the beach closed my eyes and everyone disappeared as there were a lot of people. I was left with the soothing sound of the waves and seagulls. The warm sun shining down on me. As it slowly lowered in the sky. Until it went beneath the waters edge. Everyone sending the sunset off with an applause.
Jerri Allaster
Our 1st trip here and we found it to be a hidden jewel. There are actually 3 large connected parking lots and each has a pavillion. Building 2 houses a nice gift shop and a cafe that that has a good variety to choose from. The last beach area #3, is the widest. The other areas are thin, but long. We were there today, Thursday and there was a good crowd. There are bathrooms with changing areas, outside showers to rinse off the sand, and some tables and grills. If you don't have chairs or an umbrella, you can rent them near building 3. Last, today they indicated the park would close at 8:15 pm. Also, admission is $8 and up, depending in the number of people in your group. Today was an exploration trip for us, but we do look forward to spending the day another time.
Tia Christensen
This is probably my favorite beach in the area. The crowds aren't too big and if you walk down the beach a little there is hardly anyone out there. There are also a ton of little seashells everywhere that are super fun! Very safe and clean place.
Larry Holcombe
It's a beautiful state park that you can do plenty of hiking around in. Lots of white sandy beaches with plenty of shells for the looking. Some days are better than others so what's your weather. There are unsight facilities for restaurants as well as a site to get food. The nature center was beautiful and the staff were very informative.
Joseph Flannery
We have always enjoyed Honeymoon island but today had the benefit of getting in for free. If you have a library card go to your local library and the will loan you a pass to get into any state park. If you’re a birder there are lots of trails and places to see some amazing animals. It has a pretty beach and lots of room to spread out.
Jason T. Wiser
what a fun and inexpensive excursion. We loved the 2 mile trail hike to the beach at the point and back. the day was real windy so we weren't able to enjoy the beach, but we were protected by the forest and mangroves. We saw lots of ospreys and a beautiful bald eagle. wonderful family excursion.
Vickie Rice
Great beach for collecting shells. I went on a slightly chilly January day, and due to the extremely long beach area, it was not crowded in the least. A great place for walking on the beach and on some paths. I wish I had had more time to explore more of the island but I’m sure I’ll be back. It cost eight dollars for a car with the three of us.
Ann Crawford
Plenty of parking and access to the beach in many areas. Very rocky and a lot of shells so little harder to find a smooth spot to set up. Still a great spot to watch the sunset. Bathrooms have no lights so bring a flashlight with you if later in evening.
Michelle L
We came here to catch the ferry to Caladesi, but when we came back, we went down to their beach to watch the sunset. This beach was full of big rocks and great shells, so bring good shoes! This would also be a great spot for fishing. But oh, the sunset...!
Alissa Leone
Awesome place to go for the beach or a hike. If you are going to the dog beach, I recommend to not be wearing sneakers because you do have to wade through some water. Also, bring dog shampoo and towels. There is a place to bathe them with a hose. The bathroom is really far from the dog beach, so make sure you go beforehand. Of course, bring potty bags. The dog beach is not really swimmable. I think there was one area where there were dogs in the water.
Zachary Souers
Took a very nice bike ride today down through honeymoon Island and back to Crystal Beach. 21 mi makes for a really nice ride and as you can imagine a ton of places to watch sunsets from! I am sharing the few pictures of honeymoon Island that I took but mostly sunset pictures from there as well as from the Dunedin Causeway and most pictures from Crystal Beach!!! You can catch a beautiful sunset at these three places and many more around the area!!! We are so fortunate, (Blessed to live where we do)!!!
Katie Logan
Hidden Gem. I’ll definitely be coming back here, not only is the beach super peaceful there’s a bunch of walking and hiking trails to use. Super cool to see the wildlife living harmoniously. Got to see a wild tortoise and an owl. It only cost me four dollars to enter the park!
Rick Foxx (Foxx and Associates)
Great beach day! We needed a day away from our office but didn’t want the beach traffic and crowds. This beach has beautiful sand, hiking trails, and is secluded but still has concessions for lunch and refreshments, and bathrooms. Best of all, uncrowded and no traffic or battling for a parking spot
Lisa Velez
Our first visit to Honeymoon Island Beach was a great experience. Glad I read the reviews that mentioned getting there early due to the traffic that builds up getting in. We got there at 9am, it was a breeze! One car in front of us. We were told to go to the North Beach. The kids loved it and so did we. We are looking forward to continuing to explore all that Honeymoon Island State Park has to offer.
James N Gina Kinney
Gorgeous area. To go into the park you will pay to travel and park by car. Otherwise you can park near shoreline.
We had a dolphin sighting while there. Lots of white sand and aqua green water in areas. Boating and fishing.
Kristin Lambert
Omg been living here for 2 years and just discovered this gem!! The sand is soft and the water is beautiful. $4.00 to park and you can come back if u leave as long as you hold onto your receipt. People are friendly and its a family atmosphere. And the sunsets are breath taking!!
Mark Wright
What I like most, is being able to park my truck right on the sand and watch the sunset. I have found that the end of Honeymoon Islands Beach area is super crowded on weekends. I always go to Indian Rocks Beach when I want to sit on the sand. You rarely see more than a hundred people.
Prism Star
I absolutely love this beach! It's 8$ to enter but definitely worth it. The bathrooms are right next to the beach and they even have more than one rinse off area.
The water is calmer even the elderly can enjoy the ocean. The water is warmer than the ocean in California, but you definitely see all kinds of sea life right off the shore. A must place to take the family.
Chayan Gupta
This island is near to Clearwater. There is a narrow bridge that connects this island to the mainland. The entry is $8 per vehicle. If you want a secluded beach then this can be a perfect place. The sunset is so beautiful here.
Karly Dooley
My family loves this spot and we come here as much as we can. Beautiful beaches and great choices on where to go. Also an awesome dog beach! Never too crowded on the dog beach or main beaches, so peaceful and beautiful.
Chanchal
We spent awesome time here. Wonderful location, white sand, great beaches, birds fly around, moments to chillex, collect beautiful seashells. To beat the traffic try to arrive early and get a good spot to park. There is a park entry fee. Beautiful location for photography.
alexandra annette
The main beach is very eroded with no sand and rocky. There are two newer beaches from when I grew up there -oasis beach and north?? Beach. Soft and beautiful sand at those beaches. Beautiful water at the beach! Get there early to avoid waiting a long time on the causeway to get in (1 pm).
Thomas Soracco
OK, I am selfishly only giving 4-stars as I don’t want to enthusiastically encourage to many people to go there! Silly but true. It is a lovely and beautiful place. Along with Sand Key, these are the only 2 local beaches I will go to. There is little in the way of facilities here and while there might be food at one end I have never searched for it. It is civilized but not developed beyond the basics. I love the natural feel and lack of crowds during mid week. If a quiet time is what you seek then this is the place, otherwise head to Clearwater beach for restaurants, shops and hustle. The downside is the potential wait at the gate to pay-it is a State Park with an $8 fee to enter. I bought an annual pass for all Florida State Parks so I can pop when I feel like it.
Vincent Morales
Beautiful sand, beautiful surrounding nature and trails. I fell in love with this park/beach due to the beautiful white sand and shells 🐚 that look they came from a painting. The entry per car is $8 which is totally worth it and understanding due to it being well taken care of. (Prices inside for sunscreen and drinks and gifts are a bit overpriced in my opinion but whatever)
M Rusch
I loved Honeymoon Island!!! I'm a huge sheller and was so excited to find my largest sand dollar I've ever found in perfect shape! There was a great variety of shells but I don't know if it's usually like that or not...Ian may have had something to do with that. The first day we went earlier and I walked all the way to the end of the island. This is when I found the bigger shells, including a king crown conch but it was occupied so he went back in the water. The second time we went I found a ton of minis in the seaweed, including a brittle star. I also found my first urchin and rescued a few others. The only downside is you have to pay to get on the island but I would definitely go again! If I lived there I'd just get a season pass!
Julie Balboni
Beautiful! I've never seen a prettier sunset from this beach, you get the palm trees the white powdery sand and a gorgeous view of the Gulf. It's an idyllic beach destination with drive in beaches, regular beach, and even a dog beach. There are also trails in the woods for hiking as well as bathhouses with outdoor showers and a cafe. Definitely check it out but wear your water shoes there are a lot of rocks in the water!
Christian RICKERS-NOELL
We started at Pet Beach which is small with a lot of stones. Good place for families especially for smaller kids. If you walk along the beach and leave the crowded area then it is really nice.
Anthony M Catania
Nice local beach. A bit more crowded than expected, but it was the last weekend before school starts. We'll definitely be making trips back to enjoy all year round. Plenty of shells and shallow areas great for little ones.
Christine L
I really like this beach. Tons of parking. Very pretty and not stepping on people. Only thing is they do have rocks in the water so can be a little hard on the feet but it’s nature. Not a deal breaker for me.
TrailRdrs Outdoor “Aftermarket Electric”
Arrive early to beat the traffic. We had about a 3 minute wait at the pay booth when we arrived around 10 AM. When we left mid afternoon, traffic was backed up for what seemed like miles. The gift shops lacked a little. The Nature Center was nice. Seemed to be adequate parking. If your coming to bike off-road, keep to the Osprey Trail where you can, unless you have tires for soft sand. Every time we got onto the Pelican Trail we found ourselves pushing more than riding.
Ashley D
Lots of beautiful nature. A few different trails to walk on. They lead to a beautiful view on the beach. The beaches are beautiful. Beautiful white sand and the water feels amazing.
Corinne Nicole McLaughlin
Absolutely breathtaking beaches. Beach goes on forever! There is a separate beach for dogs also. White sands, clear water. Awesome for fishing, seashell collecting, dolphin watching and swimming. will go back without a doubt!
Cassie Bell
When we were there (late August) the beach didn't have a lot of people, which was really nice during the morning and day. Water temperature was very warm, and there were little fish swimming all around! Easily one of my favorite beaches I've been to. What makes it better is it's a state park, so the whole island is just beautiful.
The Social Piglet
This is my favorite beach! It is always pristine and beautiful! There are quite a few rangers that patrol the beach, so it's very well taken care of. There's also a dog beach which they keep very clean. It's a little bit of a walk from the parking lot to the dog beach, be prepared for that. They're in the process of cleaning up all the rocks in the water and putting fresh sand down to extend the beach. It's even more beautiful than it was already. The North end of the beach is my favorite, especially to have a nice Beach Walk and look for shells and wildlife.
There are a few little stands where you can get hot food, drinks, and rent beach bikes. The weekends can get pretty busy, early in the morning or late afternoon are less intense. Around sunset most nights are a little busy as well, give yourself some time if you want to watch the sunset. If you don't want to wait to get into the park, the causeway is also a really nice place set up your beach chair and chill. On the causeway they have a little food hut and a place to rent kayaks.
If you live here, The family pass is totally worth it. I believe it's $120ish for the year and you can get up to eight people in, as long as you are in the same car. The day price is $8 per vehicle (two to eight people). $4 single-occupant vehicle. $2 for walk ups and passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass. There is also a little ferry that will take you to Caladesi Island for about 4 hours. I think it's $16 per adult, $8 for kids 6 to 12, and five and under are free. Sorry folks, no dogs allowed on the boat.
The rangers are super friendly and the people that go there are even more so. It's definitely worth a visit.
Suzette Zablit
Love everything about this gem of a place. Pleasant surrounding and clean. The dog park is amazing. This is one of the most beautiful spot on the west coast of Florida, 4 miles from home. Sunset and sunrise heaven !
Zander Betterton
Beautiful natural area. The main beach is great, but I highly recommend walking all the way to the end (~5 miles round trip) to get away from the crowds and see dolphins!
CJWBII
Gorgeous beach, plenty to walk, plenty of different sea shells and sand dollars to find.
Breathtaking sunset. Took my fiance for our anniversary and she had an amazing time. Theres plenty of spots that are more private you can tie off a tarp in the mangroves for shade and just relax right by the waters edge. Highly recommend as a couples getaway.
Matt Chambers
Nice state park. Bathrooms, shower, dog beach, dog wash, and food stand place. Dog beach is more of a "natural beach" not groomed or anything. Really pretty and some wildlife to be seen. Also fisherman use that beach.
Kalese Cody
Absolutely beautiful place to relax on the beach, great place for kids it's shallow water, you can go out pretty far. The water is pretty clear, not as clear as clearwater but close. Parking was easy and close we saw a gopher tortoise soon as we turned in.
Debbie Quick
I loved Honeymoon Island State Park. The beaches were really nice, there was a nice area for the kids to play, and the trails are really nice for getting in a good walk. I loved all the osprey I saw, the great horned owl, and the bald eagles.Just don't try to eat at one of the parking areas along the causeway because the gulls WILL dive bomb you to try and take your food.
Rene Betschart
I love the 1mile Natural Trail at the northern top end of the island. It leads through a mix of pine trees and native bushes. It's so peaceful here away from the busy beaches. Perfect for nature lovers and those seeking tranquillity.
John Wyatt
Love going to Caladesi Island. Took the ferry over. Rented an umbrella and a couple of chairs after walking the beach looking for some shells. Great time just relaxing, even saw some dolphins swimming off shore. Had a great time...
Fanasha Acevedo Gonzalez
Oh My I can't say enough about this day... It was beautiful not to hot... Same was perfect just right not burning my feet. When we got there not alot of people for 9:30 in the morning but my 1pm it was filling up and time for us to go. Well worth the $8. Beautiful white sand and way more peace and tranquility... Will I be back? Yes already planning the next trip. Great place for a reboot and just great family time...
Nathan Shelley
Came here to work for the afternoon in late December. Great scenery. Great beach. It's all natural, and loaded with sponges and other marine life!
Around this time of year, most power outlets are shut off and the Cafe wasn't in full operation, but I could manage.
Bring an umbrella and an extension cord!
Joseph Y
If you like soft sandy beaches like me this is not the beach for you. Lots of rocks and broken shells and the beach area is not that large. The nice thing about this park though is the large restrooms and bathhouse. There's also plenty of parking even on a Sunday afternoon.
Aaron Prohaska
Beautiful, soft sand. Just lovely. Being out on the water was great. Make sure to wear sunscreen, even on cool, windy days... SPF 30+
I'll be back for sure.
Crystal Rollins
We go here every weekend! Love the different choice of beaches for humans, the dog beach, the nature center, and the picnic area where we grill. Well kept area and an awesome place to take your family.
Renee Hill
Add an extra 30 minutes to your map time to get there. The line was long all day and it took 30 minutes of waiting to get through the gate. Once inside however it was surprisingly not crowded for the amount of cars trying to get in. Nice bathroom facilities, nature center, great place to hike, or play on a beach.
Colorado Briggs
Great park! No tall buildings, just you, the sand between your toes and the water. This is a quiet and relaxing beach with a great sunset!
Manivasagam Karunakaran
Great beach park, so clean and nice place to have some great play time with friends and family 👪.. this is park beach ⛱️, you can go trial walking 🚶♀️ as well. clean white sand, best for kids to play with beach toys 🧸 🔫 👌 😎 …
Marcia Harbaugh
We went early to the beach and had a wonderful day! I would love to go
everyday. It's beautiful sand, water and sky! You better check it out soon
Ashlyn Sargent
An absolutely stunning state park with a ton of greenery and water. Quiet and serene and the name is super cute! Definitely a good park to check out. You do have to pay. It’s $8 a vehicle I believe!
S Reed (Qwana & Caela)
The beach is beautiful, not crowded and private. The only thing negative are the attack birds that people have been apparently feeding. As soon as we took out our picnic food they literally were swooping in and taking our food.
Phil Bell
I have not been to the park in meny years and I have just bought an annual pass for the State Parks, so I thought I would check it out with my kids the day after Christmas. Too cold to really take advantage of all this park has to offer. We will be coming back when it gets warmer with our bikes. Can't wait to give this park 5 stars.
Elizabeth Valencia
It's nice. It has a pet friendly beach and it's a good size one. You can take the ferry across to Caladesi Island. The walk to the beaches is long but worth it.
Janine Martins Figueiredo
My favorite place ever to bring your dogs and have lots of fun! The beach is clean, pets are always friendly (as are their owners 😊). The images tell by themselves! …
Heba Lababidi
I guess I had very high expectations. It was extremely busy. Will never go on a holiday again. If you go there definitely try their toasted peanutbutter jelly sandwich. It's the best! But be careful the seagulls might steal it!! I recommend they have coffee all the time because some people don't drink and just want coffee.
Tricia Pieper
Honeymoon island is such a beautiful state park and the dog section is amazing! We had a blast and definitely recommend spending the day here with your furry friends. A little hint, bring a cart with wheels to ferry all your stuff out to the beach. It can be quite a walk from the parking lot to the beach. The only negative is the long line getting into the park. They are adding more entry stations, just still under construction.
Diana Lyman
No lifeguards present. Beautiful beaches, clean bathrooms & clean water. Recent additions include lounge chairs w/umbrellas for rent. On calm mornings you may see Dolphins or manatees swimming along the coast & in the swimming area. Nature at its best! 😊🦀🐬🏖
M M
A beautiful park. We walked the Osprey and Pelican Trails, and then walked the beach where the waves were strong. The ocean was speaking loudly today but it was beautiful. Always great to breathe the ocean air and reset your jive.
Joshua Rosenberg
Nice state park with a reasonable entry fee. The playground was newer and the beaches were clean and beautiful. Plenty of public bathrooms and parking. The park staff were also very friendly and knowledgeable. Check the website for activities/nature tours they do for the public.
Ana Soloviov
It’s like 2 different environments in 1 place: a hike with pine trees and palm trees and grass, then a nice beach to swim/ sunbathe, bring your chairs to/ rent a set with umbrella, some nice shells to collect
Keenen Davis
I absolutely love going to Honeymoon Island I usually go mainly to watch the sunset but every time I have gone there hasn't been too many people which is always nice haha I recommend this place for sure they have a bunch of parking and it's not too far from the beach
Chip Burke
Such a great place! The sand Bar is pretty shallow. Great for finding live Sandollars. They are pretty huge in this area. Saw a Dolphin once. Free parking. Generally, it's one of new favorites places. You have Honeymoon Park 5 seconds down the road to further extend your beach trip. ⛱️
Barbara Kiefner
I love this beach but sometimes the water doesn't smell kosher. The beauty is really nice. I like going g there in the fall.
Andrey Tselyuk
The most favorite place in that area. Daily Flat rate allows multiple entries the same day. Plenty of parking on multiple beaches. Picturesque trail with hawks nests.
Mechell Lord
This State Park has a nice (leash on) 🐶 dog beach. There’s a strong current in the Gulf so be careful when swimming with your pups. …
Billy G
Awesome beach, nice soft white sand. Washroom /changerooms on site. Your able to grab a bite from restaurant. Great place to take the family.
Nancy Samuels
There are several lovely beaches. We just stopped at the one near a cafe and the adjacent dog beach. The beaches were beautiful. I know my dog would have loved going there.
They have a small native-plant garden at the visitor center. It’s encircled with tall plants so there were no breezes in there. I got a dozen mosquito bites in about a dozen minutes. The rest of the group were native Floridians and are immune or semi-immune to the itching welts, so they were not as bothered. The visitor center is high up on stilts where the breezes blow, so mosquitos didn’t bother me anywhere else in the park.
kaela spence
Honeymoon Island is an amazing experience for the whole family. Since it's a state park it does cost to enter, but it's worth it! There is many things to do. Walking trails, bicycles rentals, restaurants, dog beach, Caladisi island ferry and much more. The beach goes for over 5miles with beautiful scenery all around.
Tiffany Marie
Best local beach getaway! Admission is affordable for parking compared to hourly rates at other nearby beaches. Plus they have nature trails to explore!
Jeremie
The park is beautiful. The beach is awesome. It wasn't very crowded the days we were there. It is a beautiful drive over the causeway out to the park also. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Minix Themonster
The beach was incredible! There were fossils in nearly every rock I looked at. The shells were also nothing to scoff over, with several being massive and still in one piece.
steve mcadams
Loved honeymoon Island! The conservatory was so fun for our kids, they loved doing the finding challenge. The osprey trail is stroller friendly if you have a jogger stroller.
Richard and Julia Keirns
Not as big as we thought it would be. Beaches are mostly rocky. Just one little cafe. But a beautiful place nonetheless.
HAMID GHARAJEH
Great family beach, lots of quite spot to camp out by the beach. Best place to take kids and collect plenty of sea shells.
Elsa Yeager
Great park but busy in the mornings. We went around 3 and got right in. 9 am ish cars back up sometimes to the cause way. Bring umbrellas because there really isn’t any shade. There is a section for dogs and Some good trails for walking.
Racine Johann
Honeymoon Island is beautiful and peaceful with much to offer for outdoor fun. It has the prettiest dog beach for our puppies.
Ann Henk
Enjoyed the nature hike. It was very informative of the local flora and bird habitat. Also a great place to do shelling.
Rusty Barr
My wife and I loved our day on the beach here on Honeymoon Island. The water was clear and warm (3/9/22). There is lots of beach line so you can find a private spot just for you. I love that it’s like going back to nature and not all built up. Great swimming area for little kids too.
Jennifer Piersee
It's so soft and smooth now that they've redone the beaches! Be ready for the line to get in on the weekend while they are widening the entrance to accommodate more visitors. It's the traffic jam with the very best views! From the causeway, you'll barely notice. Don't bail-just keep going. It's totally worth the wait!
Andy Geiger
Many beaches to choose from here. Enjoy picking up seashells, walking in the pillowy soft white sand, clean water, and a great view. Public beachhouse with showers, and miles and miles of beach to choose from. Pets have a friendly beach and you can cruise via vehicle the rest of the park. Feel like more adventure? Grab a ferry ride to Caladesi Island (15 min) and enjoy a lighthouse and even more secluded beaches. This is one of the better beach parks, that's not a total tourist trap.
Tony Speller
We visited here previously 17 years ago, it's not changed. It's an idyllic place to spend a day at the beach. The 2 cafe's on site are a nice amenity when you want an ice cream or cold beer to drink on the deck. We took a picnic of subs, chios and drinks purchased from the Publix 2 miles away. We had a really nice and relaxing day there, with the only down side being the sun burn 🔥 😎.
Mindy Clarkin
Moxie'6first time to the beach. She was a little unsure of the waves, at first, but she loved walking along the beach. We both got wet and sandy. Bring a towel. Fun was had by all. There is a line to get in: be prepared for a wait.
Jackie
Not bad but I'd rather get in a kayak and paddle across the channel to the beach on Caladesi Island. The crowds can't follow you there 😎 …
Jenni Jones
It was so nice! I was speechless when I got out on the beach! It was just wonderful. I wish my trip was longer. I can’t wait to go back!
Haus
What a beautiful State Park! It is undeveloped for the most part and wildlife is ever-present. We have seen turtles 🐢, snakes and a host of sea creatures along with a variety of birds. Lately we have seen both Manatees and Dolphins while in the water. The shells are plentiful if you want to collect a few. The only negative is the people who trash the area! Dirty diapers, cans, cigarette butts, food wrappers and the list goes on!! People will ruin this otherwise pristine piece of heaven!

Beautiful and clean. We kayaked from the Causeway kayak rents. A great park to visit but expensive in the giftshop/cafe.
Berlin 1987
It was a lovely visit. We rented a kayak from Hal, who was very personable and gave us the idea to head over to Caladesi Island. Barbara, in the visitor center was an absolute delight. She was very helpful, professional and informative. We should have gotten out there a little earlier, as the growds were sure to come. The beaches appeared to get most of the visitors attention. Luckily, our interest lies more in physical activities like walking and hiking, so we took on some of the trails on both, Caladesi and Honeymoon Island. Beware of mosquitoes along the Osprey Trail. They were indeed a pest and I can only recommend to bring bug spray and unlike us, actually apply it. 😀 Overall definitely a 5 star experience. I would also recommend an annual pass, if you plan on visiting ANY (more) of the 175 Florida State Parks in the next 12 months.
For those serving in the military, they also give a military discount on said annual pass.
JOST RULES
Great beach. Highly recommend it. It was not packed. Doesn't seems to have a lot of tourists. It was great. Plenty of parking and Cafe was great to get snacks.
Joe Watson
Amazing state park!!! So much to do and a great price. The beaches ⛱ are beautiful and the visitor center is educational and wonderful. The staff was pleasant, friendly, and helpful.
Marc Cavanaugh
Nice park. Great time overall. We will do the ferry next time. Saw a bunch of birds on the hiking trails. Nice beaches, some rocky.
Taylor G
Absolutely amazing beach. by far one of the best ones down here in Florida, warm crystal clear water & tons of awesome shore birds/wading birds if your a birder like me 😍 another plus is it never is to packed out , you can almost always find a nice secluded spot away to post up your towel and things 🤩 …
King Naga
The St. Joseph's sound is a great access point for Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands. You can park by the causeway for free, and walk through the shallow water or paddle your way across the harbor. The water is clear and beautiful, and in most places only a few feet deep.
Titusville Hope Center
Everytime ive been there it has been peaceful and serene. Not vey crowded and you always find beautiful shell, and sand dollars. Its so oeaceful beautiful and is my sbsolte favorite place to visit! You wo t regret the timè or effort to get to this seeet hidden GEM!
Amber Price
Probably my favorite beach in the Saint Pete area. You can bring your dog and it’s super chill. Also it’s a great place to just chill out and relax. Lots of people are jet skis near and probably my favorite place
Tahmid Rashid
Much better than Clearwater but still gets crowded by midday. Do yourself a favor and hop on to the ferry to Caladesi Island. Get there early to skip the crowd.
Emmaline Peters
Beautiful beaches, a big area so even if the parking lot looks crowded there is always a spot to sit away from the crowd. Best sunset in Florida. Best shells on the west side of the state.
Wes Mosure
Great Beach! Lots of shells and pretty views. Does cost a bit to get into the park area, but lots of different spots around to park and picnic and enjoy the sun and sand.
Anne V
Very nice park, beach was clean. Restroom access and showers. Price of parking just right.
Daniel J
Amazing beach, fine powdery sand, great views and hardly anyone here! Head up to North Beach, great waves for bodyboarding.
L C
Always one of my favorite local beaches. Usually void of so many tourists like Clearwater. Very calm. I always bring a small backpack cooler with drinks/chips and stop by Subway on the way in, before the bridge, to grab a sandwich for lunch. Bring a beach umbrella. It’ll make for a less sunburned day.
Bill Sizer
This has always been a local favorite. They just replenished the sand at north beach. This state park has always been clean. The restrooms are also very clean. There is plenty of beach to walk on and swim.
There is no lifeguard at this location.
Laurie Hessler
Lovely State Park that's usually far less crowded than the beaches in Clearwater. Has modern restrooms and a cafe where you can purchase food.
Eric Czatt (Zats Me)
Get there early. Nice and quiet. The bathrooms and changing rooms are clean and nice.
Can't wait to go again!!!
K Velasquez
Beautiful place full of nature. The beauty of this island is hard to describe. The beach close to the cafe has a lot of rocks, I suppose it has been left in it's natural state but if you continue forward the beach becomes even better.
The island is walkable and looks like you can see different kind of animals on it but we decided to be lazy and just chill out on the beach.
There is a small cafe with decent prices. Kayak rentals and a ferry to another island.
I definitely recommend this place for some relax, nature and adventure.
Krista Lewis
Had an awesome experience at the beach. Great place for shell hunting. Had a picnic, watched some guys surfing and sunbathed.
Shelby Hopkins
Great park. Get there early. Several different beaches. The walking trails have a bad mosquito problem
Stephanie Ramsey
This park is 12 minutes from where I’ve been staying, in an RV resort, for the past 3 months. I love it here, and I’ve only scratched the surface of what this park has to offer. I’m buying a season pass though, so I can really explore!
Macario Ramirez
Best beach ever. A park, trail, and plenty of white sand beach. You can also take a ferry ride to the more secluded Calidesi Island.
Christianson Goodley
This is a great state park that boasts a number one beach several years in a row. There is a sense of tranquility in the water and on the nature trail. The cafe on site lets users get food and the restroom and shower facilities are clean. The separate dog beach is just what you four legged friend needs. They can play in the water on a leash and socialize with others. After they are extremely exhausted you can wash them down with fresh water before you leave.
Elizabeth Andrus
Beautiful. Safe. Always well kept. There are restrooms, areas to rinse off unwanted salt water and sand, a kinda pricey snack shop, but you can always plan and pack your own family-friendly goodies. One of my fav spots on the Gulf Side for sure.
S. Z.
The area is beautiful and there are plenty of things of interest. There is a decent walking/biking path all along the road into the park. The only down side is it is $8+ Just to get into the park. If you get there early enough, you can find a really nice spot right before the entrance for free. There is a bathroom with a shower/sinks and plenty of kayak/canoe rentals.
Jennifer Pratt
Nice beach (I went to the north beach), soft sand, nice place to walk along the shore. Restrooms with changing rooms on one side of the parking lot. Lots of parking spaces. Not far to walk from parking lot to the beach.
alduy tor
We went to the dogs' s beach. It was nice and calm on a weekday. There were just a few dogs. It is also the part assigned for fishing. The current was a little less strong than the human beach close to the main building of the park. Some of the humans do not pick up after their pets. It is a 1/3 of a mile walking from the parking to the beach. Take that into account in your planning. If you find this review useful for your purposes, please give me a like. Thanks.
Katarzyna D.
You must see it! Colour of water is amazing. No problem with the parking, a lot od place to feel like you we're alone on the island
Maryann Schafer
Very pretty area but you better wear water shoes. There are huge rocks at the bottom of the water. Hurts really bad to walk on.
Judy Thompson
Very clean, uncrowded beach with awesome shells. Definitely recommend taking the ferry out to Caladesi Island. Water was perfect temp and not at all to wavy. Great for little ones to play without getting knocked down by waves. A+. Definitely will go again.
Devin Wright
It’s a good time. $8.00 admission per vehicle. Watch out for snakes on the nature trail…came across an Eastern Diamondback.
Aasya Muhammad
Beautiful beach. So secluded today.
I can’t get over how warm the water is but it’s still so refreshing. 🌊 🏖 …
Spike Hopkins
The state park has so much potential. The beaches are nice but there are small amount of rocks and certain places that make it a little uncomfortable getting in and out of the water. The good news is they've removed most of the rocks as they could.
D K
My most favorite beach to visit when vacationing the area. Ferry ride alone is a pleasure - very serene. Beach is perfect. Quiet and not overly crowded with tourists. Worth the visit - HIGHLY recommend visiting this place. It's my favorite secret gem 😍 …
Daniel Marriott
Great time to come, hang out, catch some sun, enjoy the water, sand between your toes, just to relax and unwind! $8 to park and enjoy the beach all day! Quiet and peaceful. Great views of Clearwater in the distance, probably 30-40 miles visibility.
Ramitan62
If you like Sun and Sand, this is a beautiful beach to go to. Safe place for children to swim. There are four major parking lots from which you can access the beach. A fifth parking lot is next to the nature trail on the north end of the island. There is also a mile long nature trail that leads out to an eagles nest. We saw an eagle, and she was feeding her young ones. We also saw several nesting osprey and great horned owls.
On the south side of the island is the dog beach.
The nature center/ gift shop was awesome! It provides a lot of history of the island.
There are restrooms with changing facilities. There's also a cafe where people can buy food and beverages.
We have been there several times and are planning to go again. This is a State Park and will cost $8.00 to get in.
Rick Crowell (This Is What I Do)
Love it here. Not crowded like most beaches. Lots of shells & critters to sea over with the kids.
Joey Hegedus
Having the beach to yourself all afternoon is incredible! They keep the beach Very clean all year around!
Will Duff
The island has so much to offer from swimming and recreation, to hiking, shelling and birdwatching. I suggest getting there prior to the gates opening as to have ample time exploring the island while it's quiet. By 9:45 or 10, the beach starts to be lined by blankets, chairs and tourists. The nearby towns of New Port Richey and Tarpon Springs have a lot to offer if you're looking for a bite or somewhere to continue your adventure. Also, shoutout to the 2 park rangers who happily helped jump my car battery. The staff and Rangers here are always beyond helpful and knowledgeable.
Kate Ping
Beautiful park and beach, lots of options for parking, picnic tables, bathrooms, playground, hiking trails and it has a nice nature center.
Eric Ortiz
Beautiful beach, great facilities. Is a clean beach very well take care off, with ample parking and clean restrooms.
Christine B.
Unless you have a state park pass, you're going to have to pay and it does depend on how many people are in your car. It does have very nice beaches. The dog beach is nice except you have to keep your pet on a leash which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It does have some safe walking trails that you can take with your dogs and if you are on a bike you will enjoy it as well.
Maxwell Malone (Wellitis)
Definitely my favorite beach in the area. Reasonable Park admission. Just a beautiful place to enjoy the beach and the water. We were able to see some really cool shells along the shoreline as well as some sort of tortoise, or turtle, I apologize I am not an expert in biology though.
Bee Miller
Such a beautiful place! The finest and whitest sand I have seen anywhere in the United States.
Mark
Gorgeous and the place to go if you’re in this area! Clean beach, friendly people and fun times! Make sure to bring an umbrella from the sun!
Shannon Kruse
Absolutely beautiful beach, lots of shells and not too crowded. Plenty of parking available and public restrooms.
Ms Cruick
I loved it and my dog did as well! One point, however, I think that they need more showers on the pet friendly side of the beach as they do on the human side of the beach! In addition, please place some trash cans along the beach because some people did not feel the need to dispose of their dog's poop appropriately.
Christina Nicole
Many different areas to visit. Beautiful white sand. It was so soft. Tons of shells covered the shoreline. Besides the beautiful beach my favorite part was finding one of those penny smashers that puts a picture on a penny. They were a childhood favorite of mine. I enjoyed cranking out pennies with my daughter.
Thomas Smith
Awesome Sauce! I'd eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack reckon I done had my way...Let them worries roll out with the tide and ROCK ON y'all 👍👍 …
Vanessa Mikos
We love the dog beach here! Even though my pup won't get in the water we still like to take him. Quick tip tho, bring a wagon because the trek to the beach from the parking lot is a long one. I don't suggest doing it without. They do have a dog rinse station that's good for also rinsing the sand off you and your stuff.
Heidi Ross
My baby loved this!! It's a bucket list item for him to go to the beach...perfect! He got a bath afterwards at the rinse station....great set up!
Peter Heitman
One of the best beaches in the country. It's a state park, so while it has amenities like bathrooms, changing rooms, food, etc it is very undeveloped and pristine. Wonderful sand, a beach that stretches for miles, wonderful Gulf water. Definitely our happy place!
Jose Alberto Salamanca
Is a nice beach, very calm, but you must walk if you want a uncrowded spot, the restrooms are far from the beach. To enter here you must pay 8 Usd.
Joseph Barba
Simply the best and staff and rangers really take pride make sure people fish right way
Michael Yerushalmi
One of the best beaches I've been to on the west coast!
Charles DeMean
Best nature beach in coast. Sand is fine & great. Concession food good, but overpriced. Usually not rely crowded, because it's so big. You can find a quiet spot. Don't eat or feed the seagulls.....you'll be swamped with very noisy aggressive gulls. Drive over long Causeway is really nice. It's a State Park, so there's a State charge to get it. Well worth it. North end good for shelling, if you get there early & tide is out.
Tammi Voskuhl
WOW!! Where to start. We were so excited, to go there, but it was Red tide. OMG!!😱Holy dead fish. I've never seen so many dead fish. We had to wear our masks, walking along the water. We didn't let it stop us, from finding good shells. Not even all the infrastructure, at the beginning or the rain. We walked a few miles on and had to turn back. Red tide, is no joke. Our noses were running & our throats were scratchy. We did find lots of cool shells. And we will definitely go back and walk all the way, to the end. Can't wait!!
Brianee Tolentino
So beautiful!!!!! Definitely a family beach. Super clean , water is very clear to the point you can see school of fish around you while swimming. You can also catch dolphins, manatees & maybe even a manta ray.
Kathy Bean
Weeknight, almost no one there, it was great. My first time to a beach, at the age of 62. Love it, water was perfect temperature, too.
L Home
Worth visiting compared to the tourist beach. I would recommend bringing a SUP/Kayak. Good parking available on a Sunday
Marie Diersing
A true hidden gem. It’s the type of location that you don’t want to give a good review so no one else ruins it. It has all the beauty of a well taken-care-of state park with the benefit of an unsurpassed Gulf sunset view. We’ve always had an easy time seeing an array of wildlife, but not much for shelling. There’s plenty of pathways for walking, but wear shoes!!! Little stabby plants make sure barefoot isn’t an option.
Rick Johnson
Fabulous 👌 MY Family and I had such a wonderful time here. The people in the gift shop were amazing & super helpful. Seen Eagles, Great horned owls 🦉 & gopher tortoise. Found tons of beautiful shells & walked 4 miles to the point of the island. SURVIVED! SHEW! …
T Hassanally
This is a great beach for the family. The restrooms are clean, the restaurant has kids friendly food and the park also has a well appointed playground. Parking is plentiful and admission is affordable. Of course, the main attraction the beach and although a bit rocky on the shore, there is usually enough space to set up a beach picnic.
Lisa Selemba
It's definitely one of the best beaches I have been too. I love the little 15 min fairy boat ride you take to get there. The staff and captain are super nice. The captain explains about Honeymoon island during your boat trip. Definitely a place we will come over and over.
Kelly Black
This is a wonderful place to visit. I prefer this beach over clearwater depending on how busy it is. Abundance of wildlife. I walked 3 miles down the beach; saw multiple dolphins playing and fishing up and down the beach, a pair of eagles, plenty of osprey, and a few turtles. Great place to find shells. White sand. Clear water. Staff are wonderful and the park is so clean! Love it!
Eric Brooks
What an incredibly gorgeous beach. Great for families. Even better for birders.
Wendy
There was a long lines to get inside the park. Nice white sand and greenish water! Not crowded and the sea is calm and relaxing.
D. Francis
Love this Beach, super soft sand and clear water.
GS9 Amar
Went here a lot. Pretty good area, but one time there was huge pools of water in the middle of the sand. That’s the only bad thing here. There’s beautiful seashells here, good parking, nice sand, clear water, and warm water. I recommend this beach if you’re picking somewhere to snorkel because of the clear water.
Bruce Elliott
Great day trip bring your bicycle bring your sunscreen and bring something to float on got every base covered and you got a day that you'll never forget 🎯🏆🔥 …
Yenisse Catire
One of my favorite state parks is: Honeymoon Island 🏝 It has beautiful beaches, incredible sunsets and also from here you can take a ferry to the Caladesi island (next post). Honeymoon park is perfect for the whole family including pets (Yes! there is DogBeach a beach for your pets), also it can be perfect for a wedding too. If you want to explore the park I recommend North Beach because is more natural and has less rocks, if you walk to the northernmost point of the park you will find less rocks on the shore and you will be surprised by the amazing sunsets… ah and don’t forget the entrance fee (we paid $8 for a vehicle with 5 people).
Jose Ortiz
Very nice beach with plenty of parking. Sunset is awesome there.
Tipsy Gypsy Travels
Nice park. Can get a little crowded but I understand it's beautiful.
Tiffany Comitalo
Absolutely beautiful! White sandy beaches and clear water!
Bill Carey
One of the nicest State parks in the country with one of the top beaches. Incredible work done to restore beach.
And before you get there, the Causeway is a great place to park and hang out. Photo from Father's Day.
Melissa Beers
There are many beaches here. The sand was beautifully white and easy to walk on. Plenty of parking. My only upset was I chose the beach that had a bathroom farther away and up 2 flights of stairs. Kind of a long haul when little ones need to go. But will definitely go back and try a different beach.
Doug Lane (Doug Lane Music)
Great park, friendly people with the chairs and concessions. Food was great, shelling at the north was fun and relaxing at the main beach was great. Pretty calm on a weekday, don't know how bad it could get on a weekend. Also saw a few dolphins playing near a jet ski.
Yoga On The Move
Fell in L🌻VE with the buoyancy and calmness of these beach waters. Great places for Stand-up Paddle Boarding and Yoga. …
Cindi
This was probably my favorite beach to go to for shelling, i loved going here to look for really cool rocks and shells. I also loved going through the hiking trails, the osprey is the one I would do. The trails were shaded and you were able to see the osprey flying about.
Michelle Bennett
Great little hidden treasure! Honeymoon Island North Beach! Caution they are adding sand to the beach and it’s a long walk! If you have small children we don’t recommend this area until construction is completed!
JPS HOME
Nice beach , no big waves, crystal water, pink sand in the sunset
Kellie Helm
Went too Dog Beach on Honeymoon Island Wednesday April 6th, 2022. What a beautiful day for myself, my daughter and her boss. We brought our dogs and had a grand time. I do recommend that anyone going too Dog Beach wear water shoes or flip flops most of the time as there are lots of sticker burrs everywhere. Other than that it's great, your dog or dogs will have a blast!!!
Kara Malcolm
The beach and sand is beautiful. Love that it’s more remote. Our visit happened to coincide with some dredging and therefore had to walk a significant way whilst towing all our beach equipment. Made getting to the site not the most fun but it’s only a temporary issue. The beach has beautiful white, soft sand but is quite rocky at the shore and in the water. Lost of little hermit crabs can be seen when the tide goes out and the park itself is a beautiful piece of nature!! Will like to return when dredging project is complete!
Michael Bland
My favorite place to go. When I lived in Florida I was a regular here and Dunedin Causeway. Just a beautiful place to set up some beach chairs and take in the view.
Now that I live out of state, I still make it a point to come by when I'm in town.
The beach is long and beautiful, can be a little rocky going in the water. Has a bathroom, beach showers, and snack bar.
John Buttitta
This place is great. Lots of sandy beaches and nice clear water. We saw manatee and enjoyed a day in the sun. My advice is to go early. Especially on holiday weekends like this one. They have food and drinks available and clean restrooms.
craig carey
I really, enjoyed this place. We b had a great quiet afternoon here with the family. I even managed to get a glass of wine while watching the ocean
Tony Gutierrez
We visited this state park as a recommendation for a friend who is a local and we fell in love with it!!. Nice place to set up, they have an area especially for pets, the water was tame and warm perfect for younger kids. No waves or anything but still an amazing experience. They have buildings with bathrooms and change areas that's a huge plus! No life guard on duty but it's so shallow that adult supervision should suffice.
Lorraine Yaslowitz
LOVE this beach! So much beach with less people, and has such a great family centered feel to it, unlike many of our bigger, more commercialized beaches and parks. One of our favorite places to have a relaxing beach afternoon.
Chris Glick
Very narrow and rocky beach at the south beach but North beach was filled in with plenty of sand. Some rocks have neat fossils. Nice bathrooms. Lots of big mosquitos on the inner island trails and at dusk in the parking lot.
Bit of a line to get in and $8 or State Park pass, but lots of free parking at all the beaches. Hiked the 1 mile trail to Eagle nest but you can't get close. Found gopher turtle burrows. Sunsets can be fantastic but hit or miss.
Gloria Girgis
Beautiful island where one can relax. Entry fee was $4 for me on mother's day. Amenities include a picnic area with a few grills (no beach view) and 2 public beach areas, along with trails. The highlight of this island for me was driving onto it; as you approach the island and the sun is out, it hits the water and sparkles and illuminates the countless palm trees lining the island.
Samantha Trujillo
What an breathtaking view! 2 time in Clearwater area and we hadn’t ever heard of this place until my husband dug more into beaches. Seems to be a very underrated beach but we loved that there wasn’t anyone around us!
Adrian CM
Me and my family love it there. Reasonable entrance fee to the park with amenitites available (showers, restrooms, plenty of parking). A natural and secluded beach with a natural trail and extended beach to walk and explore. Wild animals can be spotted while walking the trail.
Annie Johnson
Beautiful areas, places to wash off after the beach, there were even places to wash your dog. Fairly priced and well taken care of for enjoyment. The beaches were a walk, but it was a nice sandy trail back to the dog beach.
R Lin
I absolutely love this sweet little island! I feel that Honeymoon really gets overlooked since it’s very close to the ever-busy Clearwater Beach. But, it has all its own charm.
Honeymoon is a state park, so you do have to pay to get in, but it’s for all day and honestly it’s way cheaper than even paying parking at a regular beach. For one person it’s $4. There are a couple beaches on the island to choose from, including a dog beach and a ferry to another island called Caladesi Island. Caladesi ferry is extra cost but it’s definitely cool to do at least once if you’ll be in the area for awhile.
They have a sort of museum/ nature observatory too, and some walking paths. There’s tons to do. At the main beach they have a cafe where you can grab a bite, buy typical beach accessories, and even some souvenirs.
The beach itself is just gorgeous. Since this is a state park they keep everything very natural and untouched. In some areas it can be pretty rocky and slippery so do be careful. There’s also a lot more ants crawling around the closer you get to the grass line. They won’t bite but they can be a little annoying. There are rinse stations and bathrooms as well, and if you are in search of a beautiful yet quiet beach area Honeymoon Island is your spot!
Ananya Dey
It is a very good place to visit and watch the sunset
Chris Cursley
This beautiful beach is part of a state park so it costs a few bucks to get to but it’s well worth it.
Plenty of parking, a couple of simple shops and some nice clean restrooms make it easy to spend the day there.
I would recommend taking swimming shoes or flip-flops, the sand is lovely but there are stones, shells and small rocks mixed in that could catch the unwary barefoot walker.
B T
Wow... what a nice use of our tax paying dollars. A beautiful area to back your vehicle right up to a little piece of America and enjoy the beach. There’s plenty of space to get some sun, fish, drop your jet skis in! A +!!
Kathryn
My absolute favorite beach in the area. I love the nature center, trails, and dog beach. Some of the beaches have rocks, which can be annoying.. But it is beautiful for swimming and walking, looking for shells. The dog beach is a bit of a hike, if you are carrying a lot, but it is worth it. There are water stations in the parking lot, making it easy to rinse off the dogs, before leaving. I also recommend taking the ferry to Caladesi Island.
Aundrae Burrowes
Great beach. Recommend getting the $60 annual pass. Let's you get reduced prices on the $8 fee to enter for each member of you entire group. And the pass can be loaned to visiting family so they can enjoy entry into the park as many times per week any guest accompanying the pass pay $2 to enter.
Gail Katzman
Lots of rocks you need shoes on your feet. It is a nice beach.. No dogs on beach. If you are lucky you may get to see a wedding. Nice to watch a sunset Wedding . Very pretty.
Maranda
One of my absolute favorite beaches to go to! The water is always nice and warm, even on a day like today when it was 60 outside!!!! This is the best beach to find shells! I have alot of beautiful shells I have taken home from this place, I don't really pick up any anymore but I spot a ton all the time!
Richard Hauser
Beautiful beaches with plenty of room and places to walk.
Darren Pierce
Great place to hike and enjoy wildlife.
Mrs Davis
Peaceful and serene. Nice beach. Nice people. Not the beach you can lay out in. Filled with rocks and shells. You definitely need shoes on. I wouldn’t let the kiddies run wild on this beach. They may hurt themselves.
Brian Stubler
A amazing island of beaches not too far off the beaten path, lots and lots of parking, including a dog beach (not leashless however). There's also a nice, paved, biking trail and multiple snack stands with public restrooms and changing areas. Beautiful sunsets, dolphin sightings, waves, a 5 mile beach walk, and yearly individual and family passes are available.
jack petty
beautiful park and beach! if you want to picture how native coast line looked before development, go here. the best for sunsets, especially on the swings. The beach is great for walking but it is really rocky in some areas. One of my favorites for sunsets
Supun B Attanayake
Beautiful beach, the waves are not the strongest but the water sure is one of the clearest around Tampa Bay. The park entrance fee is $4 ( half price, for multiple occupants) per car if you are coming in the evening (sunset). The area is a no drone zone since it is a State Park. Staff at the facility are helpful and kind. Restrooms were clean and we'll maintained. There are open showers too. A good place to enjoy the serene beauty of nature.
Kayci Sturtevant
We came here twice in one week! Really nice, big dog beach to bring our pup to! Nice soft sand and lots of little sea shells to pick through. And just $8 per car load to get in for the day :)
Felicita Curet Cruz
water was warm and clear.
Some nice waves going on.
It's a Good place to go and relax sock ur feet not much swimming in some areas do to rocks and not to found of seaweeds.usual where theirs alot thiers also jellyfish. You also really have a meal in peace with out the bird flying buy and grabbing your food out your hands or even as close as to ur mouth.
Ellen Criswell
Beautiful beach and loved the ferry boat ride.
Brandy Henderson
Great experience. Free parking outside Honeymoon Island. Kayak rental was $60 for four hours on a tandem kayak.. We kayak over to Caledesi Island, which was so much fun going. It was a little more work coming back though. Weather was perfect. Water tempt still too cold for the average Floridian. It was a beautiful day.
Erica Lee
Love this park. If you are a rock or shell hound you will love it too. Water is clear and its not too crowded. One of my favorite FL beaches. Would choose over Clearwater any day!
nitin shettigar
This one is my favorite beach in the Tampa Bay area. Especially the north beach is a gem. Plenty of shelling opportunities if you walk north from the north beach parking lot. There are plenty of birds in the area. You should hike the Osprey Trail if you are bird enthusiast. You will find plenty of Ospreys, Bald Eagles and even Horned Owls (if you are lucky). Must go trail for a bird photographer if you are in the area. There is a picnic area and a nature center. There are 4 beaches (all connected) and one of them is a pet beach. You can also take the ferry to Caledesi Island from here.
Mike Palazzolo
Beautiful beach, white sand clear water and great views.
Christopher Smith
Nice walking trail under shady trees with an abundance of osprey nests, owls, eagles and other wildlife. The oasis beach was very nice and beautiful sunsets. Outdoor showers at the bath house and changing rooms were nice.
Mike Kour
Great park, Great beaches, clean water, relaxing, peaceful, full of life with fish, dolphins, birds, turtles, a hidden jewel.Great place for 🐚 shelling, Great family fun. …
Amanda
Currently under construction on oasis and North Beach. Walk in soft sand a little ways to get past the closed area from North parking lot. Definitely wear water shoes as it's very rocky. There's a little shallow pool that kids loved playing in trying to catch fish and crabs.
Don Ross
Just went to Oasis beach. I think there are 4 or 5 beaches total at this park. A little rocky, but a good place to look for shells. Saw a few people fishing around the breakwaters so there might be a chance for catching fish here. Ample parking. The restrooms and shower area are clean and well maintained, but need more lights in restrooms, a little dark. Definitely going back, maybe hit one of the other beaches next time.
Chrissy G
White, soft sand. Convenient & clean bathrooms with showers. Friendly, informative FL State Parks volunteer staff. Easy parking for $8. S
Road directional signage needs improvement.
Bill Mears
They could use more showers. Half of them were out of service and there was a line of people waiting for this lady to finish bathing in her body wash, then shampooing her hair, then conditioning her hair. She could have been more considerate as others were waiting to rinse off the salt water from their bodies.
Please install more showers... for the $8 admission, you would think some of that money could be spent on a few more pipe lines or at least fixing all of the broken ones.
Other than that I totally recommend it.
Anne Feldbauer
This place was great! Beach is Rocky, but there's alot of shells and cool things to find. There's also decent areas that are clear of rocks for beach going activities. Have some nature trails you can walk also, and that was a cool experience. Got to see a gopher tortoise. Would recommend.
Greg Cichon
The dog beach is great, but I would not call this park "Dog Friendly ". They have places where they give you poop bags, and plenty of signs that say clean up after your pet, but no garbage cans to dispose the waste. You have to carry your poop bags to the no dogs allowed beach area to find a trash can. No bathrooms for pet owners, and a long walk to the beach area. Dog owners are second class citizens at this park.
Alisa Oswalt
Gorgeous sugar sand beaches with multiple easy accesses. Great for swimming and kayaking. Pet beach available for dogs. Watch out for mosquitoes at dusk near the bushes/ swampy areas.
Chelsea Perkins
Enjoyed our time on this clean beach with so many sea shells. Very peaceful. My 4 year old enjoyed finding shells and playing in the water and sand.
Mark Francis
Awesome place, we were here for the last Eclipse....my mom loved this place as well. 🐬💙🐬 …

I will never waste another minute of time at Clearwater Beach when Honeymoon island is also just right there. I can’t remember the exact price but it’s under $10 per car which you are going to pay anyway and then some for parking at other beaches. There is plenty of parking spaces here, white sand shores, clear water (fun place to snorkel), perfect beach with shallow pools for small kids, hiking trails, wildlife, etc. Get away from the overpriced stores, scams, and big crowds at Clearwater and enjoy Honeymoon Island. This trip was just for us adults but I will definitely be bringing my kids here someday.
Christy Morrell-Stinson
Definitely a subpar park, do not bother... nothing but white powdered sugar sand, clear blue waters, miles of beach and hiking trails. Skip it for the crowded crunchy grey beaches so popular nearby!!!
Kristi Lester
Our family visited Honeymoon Island specifically for the pet beach and were not disappointed! So much fun introducing our dogs to the water in a safe way. Our one dog Griffin turned out to be a natural at swimming - if was so adorable. Definitely want to go back and explore rest of the part at some point.
Brittany Battles
Honeymoon island is absolutely STUNNING!!!! If you can, take the long walk to the end of the island its breath taking! Crystal clear water, all types of shells and we even seen sea life just walking the bank!! We also love to snorkel and had a blast!!! We seen fish, crabs and found neat sea shells! Will be going again!!!
Howard “HandS” Feldman
Great beach with adjacent parking. Always enjoyable. Note that there are no lifeguards and sometimes idiots in small boats and jet skis mix in with the swimmers.
Kaé Goddess
Beautiful beach and so much to do, swimming, trails, fishing, beach combing, picnics etc. This beautiful state park located in Dunedin is a worth the visit. *There is a fee to enter the park* My kids and I absolutely love it!
Gregory Green
A BEAUTIFUL BLUE WATER BEACH, GREAT FOR SHELL COLLECTING. YOU CAN ALSO CATCH A BOAT TO TAKE U OUT TO CALADISIE ISLAND.
Author Shavonne L. Jackson
I went on Sunday afternoon and it was cloudy outside so North Beach was almost deserted looking but I love it!! There’s wildlife, plenty birds, lots of interesting trees... you can walk for miles along the shore feeling like you’re just out in nature. Plenty parking at each beach on the island. $8 car fee to enter. It was peaceful and had plenty pockets to picnic or layout. Some parts of the water is very rocky....ouch! Can’t wait to go back and explore more! The restaurants on site closed at 5pm not sure about other days of the week. You can also see the Clearwater skyline from across the water pretty neat view.
Bernadette Stange
The beach was clean, water was just right ,no curtent,a safe clean beach, rocks on the beach but it didn't hinder my feet
Shane
Honeymoon Island is one of Tampa Bay's best "hidden" parks. It's not overrun by tourists, outdoor showers, well spaced restrooms, and there is plenty of parking available. It's only eight dollars per vehicle, up to 8 people, to gain access to the state park. Additionally, Honeymoon also doesn't have a bunch of people trying to fish from the beach while everyone is swimming.
Stacey M
Nice beach with white sand. Hiking trails. Lots of parking. Very busy on a Saturday. Tons of shells. Beautiful sunset. $8 to get in. Not enough bathrooms.
Bethany Franklin
Wonderful place to get away from the crowds. Beautiful water and views. There is plenty of parking and the facilities are nice. There are shells and rocks but that’s expected with this natural area. In some areas, you can rent beach chairs and kayaks.
Juan Torres
Love coming to this beach when we visit. Easy parking and a very short walk to powdery white sands. The shell collections we get when visiting are amazing.
Priscilla Wyatt
Great place for long walks! The trails are mostly covered in pine trees and much of it is grass. Bring sandals so you can take them off when it becomes sandy at the end of them. Almost all of the photos I've uploaded are from the Osprey Trail and Pelican Trail which connect to each other. There is not clear signage, but you can see on a map where they link. Unless you're up for a sweat, I would not suggest going here on a really hot day. And bring bug spray if you plan on hiking the trails! The mosquitoes on the return trip from the Pelican trail were particularly vicious. The long, narrow strip of Honeymoon Island Beach to the North Beach is about a 2-hour round trip walk! Once you get about 20 minutes into it, you will see nearly no one and feel like you're on a different planet. We went on a busy weekend after their reopening and were surprised by how empty it still was out there. Our plan was to have a picnic, but a persistent seagull would not stop badgering us for our food, so we just watched the sunset falling over the gulf. We saw the beautiful Roseate spoonbills hanging out in the marsh on the other side of the beach. I would love to come back when the ferry is open and go to Caladesi Island.
Andrew Johnson
Great little spot, alot of rocks though. And water was a little mucky. Not a bad adventure with alot of shells.
Patrick Frank
A very fun place to go. Spend a day at the beach. We saw some wildlife in the ocean and had fun playing in the water and building sandcastles. Very nice beach!
Kateryna Yevstihnieieva
The huge park, beautiful nature.
$8 per car (2 adults & 2 children).
As for me, the beach for swimming is not very good, because there are many stones. But here you can have a great time by the water. Great place for hiking. There is a good playground for children
MD Tomchick
Pretty beach, fun dog beach with lots of friendly pups! Went shelling here a couple times and it's like chestnut turban Ville up there. Get there early; a line forms at the gate before they open on the weekends
Ying Tu
It’s a good spot for shelling, otherwise it’s not better than other beaches nearby.
Angie Love
Beautiful beach, always great to take dogs.
Side note- mosquitos were UNBEARABLE for the walk there (It's a good 10 min walk to the area that's open.) It's a pathway that leads to the beach, and it's got trees to block the wind, and the mosquitos ate us ALIVE on the walk down- BRING BUG SPRAY!
Otherwise, it's always a great experience.
George Marinov
One of my most favorite places in the entire world.
Duke Luke
The most beautiful beach I've seen in Florida. So peaceful and beautiful!
Marek Kotowicz
I am here for the first time and I think I will stay. I'll start looking for a home to live here
prinanbru
My new favorite beach!!!! Beautiful Florida! There are lots of rocks so bring your beach shoes. You can find shade under a tree. You can find beautiful sea shells. There are swings and picnic tables. Lots of wildlife...birds, butterflies, gopher turtles! It is a BEAUTIFUL beach!
Bernie Baxley
Favorite beach! We were on the dog beach side and the water is so shallow so far out it's amazing. We were so far out from the shore it looked like we were stranded in the middle of the ocean but the water was just mid calf. You can just sit in the water and have a blast.
The doggie loves it big time too!
Cilena Wood
Absolutely beautiful beach to visit. The fee to enter is $8. The beach is fairly large and long, many places to choose from to set your things.
Jaci Monroe
Love this island! Lots of space on the beach, great views, calm spots as well as areas the experience a little bigger waves. Perfect place for beach photos.
Wendy Schmidt
Great day with Friends and family!. Seashell hunting, swimming, lunch on beach, playing in sand, and sun bathing. Suggest wearing water shoes cause theres alot of rocks to go swimming in certain areas. Had an awesome 9 hours while I was there!
Hunter Edwards
Great beach, but you can't let your dog off leash, which I think defeats the purpose of a dog beach. Otherwise, real pretty with great soft sand
The Watcher
Great park. Hiking is good but bring bug spray! Beach is nice and alot of choices. Some areas are open and some have alot of rocks and shells in the water. Bathrooms are clean and overall park looks really well kept. I just wish they had campsites here!
Barb Finnical
Beautiful, tranquil place with lots of nature to enjoy, not just the beach. Plenty of parking, a gift shop, small restaurant and restrooms make it easy to stay all day.
brandon T
Beautiful beaches and very peaceful. The lady in the gift shop is very friendly and very entertaining. She explained the story of the original story of the transitions of the state park. KUDO.
Chad P
It's pretty rocky, but nice beach overall
Mitchell Juergens
Great beach one side of the beach has a bunch or rocks and other unpleasant things to step on but the other side is pretty nice sand . Wasn't too crowded and they're doing work on the beach which was cool.
Mel McGill
Beautiful beach with tons of shells.
Asjla Moss
Fun little quiet beach. Plenty of place to spread out and lots of areas to explore! There was ample parking as well. Great place to relax and enjoy a peaceful sunset.
Peg P
I visited North Beach. Narrow due to erosion and lots of shells to be had. But still beautiful. You pay at toll booth before you enter depending on the amount of people in your car. Single person was $4.
Wayne Nahi
Loved it. Good place to visit. If you come to walk the trails I recommend a very good insect repellent. The mosquitoes are numerous
Pete Jensen
It was a wonderful day, it is $8. Per car to go out but it's quiet and beautiful. This is not a place to find tee shirts and wave boards, it's a State Park. There are a few picnic tables and a snack bar.
Andrew Kalish
One of our favorite state parks in Florida... Sand and water are great and it's very clean, but mostly because we can bring our yellow lab that loves to swim!! It can get crowded on the weekends but always worth the trip!
After a day at the beach, I would highly recommend hitting downtown Dunedin for Strachans homemade ice cream and a local restaurant or brewery!
Tiffany Coughlin
Absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect and the water was crystal clear. We were boating in honeymoon and had a pod of dolphins following around the boat! We didn’t get to hang out long in the park, but there were a lot of people there but not too many that makes the beaches miserable. Definitely would be back! Sand is soft like Siesta Key!
Alexis
This place is beautiful. It gets packed quickly so I would suggest arriving when it opens at 8 am. Depending on where you go, you'll need water shoes to enter the water because there are so many rocks.
Princess
Relaxing beach want alot of people here and they have 2 cafe with good food. Price is reasonable to park as well 8 bucks for 5 or more wasn't bad. Sandy white Beach but had some seaweed and rocks in the ocean that will cut you if not careful. When you go out about .25 mile in the ocean there isn't any. My freind told me the end that they are working on right now doesn't have any of that. So when I go back in the future will see.
Mark W
Beautiful, water is great too....what more needs to be said.
Don D
Every time we visit this side of Florida, we take our dogs to this beach. It’s peaceful and good for shells. Nice bathrooms.
Claudia B
I went there yesterday on a Tuesday, Nov 1. I was hoping since it was further north the water would be clear and I could swim and snorkel. I am in Sarasota and the water here is all brown from Ian. Not sure if was just normal for this beach but you couldnt see anything here either. It wasnt as brown but you couldnt see your feet in knee high water. The beach for swimming isnt very nice. I was at the North beach were the beach is powered verse some parts which are very shelly & rocky. I walked for about an hour north looking for shells and even though the tide was going out I didnt really find anything different.
I did the hike to the Eagles nest in the afternoon. I took the start of the trail from the end of the nature trail parking lot. There is another start over the bridge near the bathrooms that is longer. It took me 45 min there and back. There were no eagles that I could see at the nest. I saw several turtles and a few Ospreys. Luckly no snakes. I would maybe try to come back another day to see if the beach is improved but not this year. Overall it was only OK
Kim Ohana
My favorite place to explore! I love seeing the tortoises and manatees!
Mike G.
One of my favorite beaches in the area. It's in a state park and entrance fee is $8 but I think it is worth it. Crowds aren't bad at most times in the summer but I would recommend going early.
Also offers ferry to Caladesi Island, buts it a bit on the expensive side.
Elaine Hocker
I have SO many pictures of Honeymoon Island, because it’s one of the most beautiful places on earth in my opinion. The water is clear, turquoise, and warm, with a gentle surf you can easily sit in for hours without getting slammed by waves. The park is always clean, with bath houses on the north and south end, food, basic beach supplies for sale, and rangers who are knowledgeable and helpful. There’s so much parking, you can always count on getting a spot, no matter how crowded it gets, and it only gets crowded on super sunny weekends and holidays. The beaches are natural, and you can either put up an umbrella and park it for the day, or walk for miles and miles from the south to the north end. There’s a beach for dogs, and also a ferry that will take you over to Caladesi island for a small fee, which is well worth it! I love this park. It’s been my go-to spot since I moved here ten years ago. Bring sunscreen and a camera! Sunsets are always amazing here, and there’s a lot of wildlife to enjoy! Some evenings around 6:00 or 7:00 you can swim with the dolphins when they come close to the shore, and the fresh Gulf breeze is indescribable!
Kristin Jackson
Pricing to park is inexpensive. This park is so popular that it's always packed! So that can either be a good or bad thing, depending on how you feel. I personally don't like being around a lot of people, so when we go, we park in the north parking & walk a little bit to find a less busy area to set up. We always have lots of fun & will definitely come back more!
rich lewis
Decent trails. Dog beach was nice but it's a hike to get there.
$8 to get in is a little high but went any way.
Jane Jackson
Beautiful sand, shells and sunsets. Space to spread out with bathrooms close by. A great nature building to gain local gulf insight.
Leanne Bastow
The park itself was beautiful however the woman that worked the booth on entry was extremely rude. If she hates her job she needs to quit. I gave her the library card for entry as Florida State Parks allowed free entry with a library card. I wasn't aware that the program ended Sept. 12th. I have used the card at several parks in the past over the summer and had no issue and dealt with friendly people. We got there this past Sunday the 25th in the afternoon and was just plain rude. She looked at the card and said a library card why are you handing this to me. As if no one had ever done it. The program had just ended and she told me the program ended Sept. 12. I don't have a problem paying at all just the attitude and rudeness of the person you have at the entrance. She shouldn't work with people. The park is beautiful and worth going to.
Ben Lanman
Nice beaches. Cafe looked good, but we didn't go. Beach was a little rocky, and there were a lot of shells.
Polly Haze
We continue to go back to Honeymoon Island because of the beauty and encounters with wildlife. We were able to see a rescued sea turtle released back into the ocean and a manatee swam right up to us. We love walking the beach and collecting shells. The water is so clear! Definitely a great beach on the Gulf. Restaurant on the island and great picnic spot.
Ebony Welles
One of the most beautiful beaches around, soft sand, mostly low wave action, good shell collecting and pretty clean from the human traffic. To visit for the day is pretty inexpensive or you can buy the pass to the state parks for a larger fee. You will have 4 sections of beach to choose from or you can buy a pass to take the pontoon boat to Caladesi island, also very beautiful and you will most likely turn it into a dolphin tour. The First beach you come across is a Great pet beach to bring the fur babies, please remember to clean up after your pet tho. Main beach is next, soft sand but usually pretty crowded since that’s where the bathroom/changing area is. Next is oasis, more of a rocky beach, I usually avoid this area. Last is north beach, my personal favorite, soft sand, close to the trail to walk and collect shells, and a beautiful view. The trails are also nice to rent a bike and pedal along, there are rattle snakes and gopher tortoise to watch for, they won’t harm you if you leave them alone. The bathroom/changing areas are always clean, at least when I have been there and the park rangers are friendly.

It’s One of the best beaches of Florida . This park has trials , beautiful white sand beach , clear water to swim and this serves a perfect location for outdoor photo shoot . The sunset here is such a bliss to sight . 8$ per vehicle is the entry fee . The way to this park is so scenic with water on both the sides of the road . Located close to Clearwater this place is a heaven for Floridians!
Krista Hill
I take the kids quite often. The nature center best place to take little ones. They do a treasure hunt with them an when they find everything they receive a gift. It's very informative. Dog beach is amazing too it's a bit of a walk but well worth it with your fury friend. North beach is amazing there is a stretch where you dont see people on its because there are rocks galore on the bottom that will tear you up. I know from experience taking the kids. The park for the kids is amazing too but it's not by any water just a place to play an I recommend that when the chilly days are here for the kids. All the way round love going definitely worth the trip.

Love everytime we go here. We took our Kayaks out and spent the day hopping from island to island. Absolutely beautiful 😍 …
Patricia B.
It is a very beautiful beach-natural, rustic appeal. The waves are really big, so much fun to swim in and surf 🏄♂️. The only issue is the rocks in the water, just off the shore line. They are very sharp & difficult to walk over to get farther out to the sandbar, where it's soft . We put on our sandals & it helped. I highly recommend wearing sneakers or surf shoes.
Jason Lee (Datu Suroy Suroy)
This is actually our favorite spot for swimming. If you live in the port richey, hudson, spring hill area.. then most of the beaches are not that great for swimming. Many times we will stop at Anclote river park to eat lunch, then drive the 20 minutes down to Honeymoon island to swim. I think it is $5 per car to get in. Honey moon island does have a dog beach on the left when you first come in... but we normally swim at Oasis or North beach. If the wind is blowing or it seems to be high waves, then we swim at North beach because the kids can swim in the area right behind the rock walls that are in the water. I have seen many people also fish off those rock walls, so they must be catching some fish from their time to time. Being new to the area, I have it on my list of places to fish.
John Izzo
Beautiful, fairly quiet state park with good shelling and swimming
Jack Noble
Amazing beach, well worth the admission fee ($8 per car of 2-8 ppl). Florida state park so no alcohol allowed *wink*. Some areas can be a little rocky but doesn't ruin the experience. Can be very busy on the weekend, expect 30+ minute traffic wait out to Rt 19A. Pretty common to see cool wildlife and dolphins swimming along the coast just outside swimming area.
larry paskiewicz
If you wanna go get there early or plan on sitting in your car for awhile to get through the gate.
Valerie Bouley
Long trail walk to dog friendly beach area. Carry your dog if you can cuz there's thistle in the sand on trail. Kinda mucky mud on beach floor where we were walking in water. $8 fee to get into park.
Manda Singleton
Very worth the trip... not touristy like the other beaches locally, clear water beautiful picnic areas, dog beach on opposite end of park.. a must do if your in the area.. gift shop is very educational also.
Jennifer Jones
Beautiful beach, the nature center was quiet and a nice stop to get some AC and learn about the history of the island. Several locations with restrooms and cafes to grab a snack. Outdoor showers to rinse off before getting in the car
Star Knight (M45)
One of the best kept secrets in Dunedin has been discovered. This park and it's many beaches is a true nature lovers paradise. I was so impressed with this area, that I am planning my next vacation around it.
The beaches are gorgeous, the wildlife abundant and it was just the right place to relax in paradise.
I visited Honeymoon Island during the week and it was not crowded at all. The weekend, however, is a different story.
I enjoyed 2 of the five beach areas. South Main Beach and the Oasis Beach. They even have a dog beach, but I didn't experience that part of the park.
This park offers a wide variety of wildlife... including a gopher tortoise that decided to cross part of the one lane road. I had to get out and move him off the road so I could drive. That was an experience. From shore birds, to osprey, to large fish and tortoises, this place has it all.
Enjoyed the food pavilion and views from South Main Beach. Quite the oasis. If you never seen a palm forest, than check out the one they have at Honeymoon Island. It is quite an experience.
Love this place and now I want to live there. That just may be a reality someday. Highly recommend Honeymoon Island for all your beach and wildlife experiences.
Cathy Hanna
My favorite place to go for shelling, wildlife and bird watching, dolphin and even whale sightings!
Keith M
Loved going to this beach with my family. Some of the beach restoration from last year is gone due to the tides and the rocks are back in the beach. At times it makes it hard to navigate walking into the water.
We used to you go near the inlet but with the dog beach expanding it does not have the same feel.
Dana Toler
I grew up on the east coast of Florida where you can park on the beach so it has been an adjustment here to have to park and then walk half a mile or more to the beach. However I have found a gem in this state park. From what I've been told if you don't get here early on the weekends it's going to be a long wait to get in. However I came on a weekday with my furball and unfortunately had to walk quite a ways to get to the dog beach. I know walking is good for you yada yada but if you have a lot of stuff and didn't know you had to walk half a mile......... For the most part the other dogs were friendly however some owners clearly were the pet and their dog was the owner. There are several miles of bike path and several miles of hiking available at this state park and if you don't like to walk half a mile to the beach there are a few parking lots close to the beach with bathrooms.
One other thing I noticed about the dog beach is it can get severely smaller with high tide so take a gander at the tide chart.
Jason Watts
Such an amazing beach. The kids loved searching through all of the fossilized coral and shells. Take some bug spray along with your sun screen, you need it. Sunsets are also worth the wait!
Nikki Brant
One of my favorite beaches.🌴✌☀ …
Jeffrey Smith
One of the best beaches in FL for sunsets.
Sunset House and Gardens
Natural unspoiled beaches. Bird and bike trails your choice of dog beach or people only Beach. Restrooms are clean, there is a snack bar and severalShowers. On the dog beach there's even a pet Wash. Great place for shelling and bird watching.
Al Proudfoot
with all the spring breakers we had to park on the other side of the bridge and walk quite a ways but I will tell you it's well worth the walk. The beaches are squeaky clean and very wide and plenty of spots to just sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. I took some nice photos hope you enjoy.
Allen Whisler
Very natural beach that is covered in shells. Tons of parking and on-site bathroom facilities. There is a small fee to get into the park but I would say it is well worth it. Going an hour before close (sunset) is half price.
At high tide the beach can be quite small but at low tide the beach is rather large
Amethyst Kristina
A great alternative for beach goers that want a more private and rustic experience. If you are going for just sunset 1 hope before park closing (8:15pm) admission is only $4! My only wish would be more rinse off stations otherwise I'm vacuuming and shaking out everything... But welcome to the beach.
Arabella Bonsor
Stunning views and clean beaches. Perfect for lounging about or going on a nature excursion. It’s also not as busy as often like some of the other nearby beaches.
Brian Baker
Nice facilities and very friendly staff. Well-organized park with beaches, coves, trails, and plenty of parking. The sand is sugar-fine, white, and cool on the feet. The water is fairly clear, though a bit on the green side occasionally (not in a bad way). TIP: Watch out for the birds! One swooped down and snatched bread right out of my hand when I looked away for a moment!
Larissa Watkins
This was worth it. There are tortoise and Osprey nests. Definitely take the nature walk. It's about 1.5 miles but you can short cut around it. Signs for rattlesnakes and coral snakes but we didn't see any. There are a few Jetty areas that you can snorkel and fish off of. A man caught a huge sting ray and re-released it. It was nice to experience. There are wood swings along the beach. It was $8 for a vehicle and closes at sunset.
Lizz Perrault
My go-to beach!
Way better than clearwater, not overcrowded and its beautiful. It has a side of the island where you can bring your dog too! (Leashes enforced) My dog loves it and i love how blue the water is and how soft the sand is. Very accessible, and family friendly. Has a playground and 3 different sides to the beach. I highly recommend!
adrian lawrence
Dogs loved it! Lots of horseshoe crabs though
czechyorker
Absolutely beautiful place. Forget about Clearwater beach. Come here you won’t regret it. Beautiful beach or walk in the park. Do both or choose just one. Definitely something that should be in your itinerary when visiting Florida. You may need a mosquito repellent.
Georgia Louise W
Hubby and I were here to attend his nieces wedding. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and a beautiful ceremony. I highly recommend this place for a small intimate wedding. There were 40 of us including the wedding party and it was very nice, romantic and intimate. I especially liked that the entire wedding party and guests removed their shoes and walked on the sand in bare feet in their attire, gorgeous gowns and suits. It really added to the ambiance of the day. The staff did a great job with everything. The food was delicious. Congrats to the happy couple. It went extremely well. Tip - if you plan to have a wedding here, keep in mind Honeymoon Island State Park goes a long way, and several of its beaches has different names. All guests would have to enter a secured gate before arriving at the beaches and pavilions. The wedding guests drove their own vehicles or ordered lyft/uber, however I would suggest hiring a shuttle/van service to bring guests to the wedding that are not renting cars.
Rickie Meeuwsen
I loved the beach it was a short distance from the parking lot. Sand was soft and warm light brown. I parked by the main shelter in the one with the snacks. Food seemed to be a little overpriced so I waited to go to a Chinese restaurant on my way out. I also brought some snacks but didn't eat them there. The water was extremely warm because the air temperature was 90 but it was still refreshing. There was shallow water for kids but all I had to do is walk out a little ways and I was immediately able get to swimming water over six feet deep it was great.
The Nature Center was on the other side of the road it was in a second story structure with good air conditioning and very clean bathrooms. And of course he exhibits were great too there also a small film room where you could watch a presentation.
For myself and the car was only $4 to get in. I would much rather go back there than to Clearwater Beach.
There we're also tons of people on the causeway parked on the side with free parking plenty of space that were fishing. Some even hung up hammocks between the palm trees. Did not look like a swimming area at all.
There were warnings to stay on the path to avoid rattlesnakes. But you are not very likely to see one anyway..... or at least that's what I was told
Daniel Stockland
We went to the furthest parking lot in and then walked along the beach and found an amazing spot to sit. Water on both sides and a hammock in the tree, doesn't get any better.
michael whitmore
My husband and our soon to be 14 year old dog Toree, and myself had a blast, exploring and looking for shells. We live in the area and thought we'd give it a go. Glad we did and so was toree.
Heath Taylor
Mosquitos are starving. Beware nature walkers. Full length clothing and bug repellent required. Beach is great, though.
Teresa Klicker
Great beach - with a great separate dog beach. Lots of parking. Nice facilities, food and drinks available at the Cafe. Park entry fee is $8 per car (for 2-8 people), or $4 for one person. $2 for cyclists/pedestrians. Aside from the beach, there's a picnic area with a playground and covered tables. Nature trails too.
Lynette Veauthier
Beautiful area,clear water, white sand.
Denisse Montoya
Been here a couple of times and my latest experience was wildly different. I loved coming here years ago, and love it still. The beach is clean, parking is easy, the sandbar is easy to swim to, the whole park is fun to explore and even hike. The $8 admission is a steal if you ask me. And sure, there may be “better” beaches along the Gulf coast, but you get a lot for the “state park” experience that you may not from going somewhere different. However, the vibe is a bit dampened by the long entry line of cars leading to the paying booth, and there were lots of stones and rocks where the ocean breaks in the sand (somewhat expected though). The actual sand is powdery and soft. Will come back any time I get a chance.
Nancy Napierala
One of the most beautiful natural and pristine beaches right in our own backyard. The Dunedin causeway is an excellent spot to do our beach workout too💪🙏💪 …
Nancy Luallen
Hands down, my favorite beach. Beautiful, clean, but not overly groomed, like some a little further south are.
Laurie
The best beach. You have to go see a sundown, it's so magical. I also love that the beach isn't as crowded as some in Florida. There is a giant swing where you can take amazing photos and the nature walk is a unique teaching experience. If you get hungry there id also a great place for food and drinks. I will add some of my favorite pictures, some are blurry and I apologize. The price of entry here is also a plus. For a carload of 7 we paid 8 dollars and the parking is then free along the several entries of the beach. What a bargain! Bring your own chairs and umbrella as well but I did see some lounge chairs stacked. We didn't inquire becasue we had brought our own. The water is beautiful and the sunset amazing. You won't regret visiting and learning about it's history and how it got it's name.
Hassan Khan
Best beach on the continent? Well, the views, including the drive there, especially from Tampa, is a must do thing. I rode a motorcycle across maybe 10 miles of narrow bridge over the water. It was breathtaking, in a word.
The beach itself, once more there are angelic views. Pristine white sands, so many sea shells. Shallow waters for a good distance out, maybe 50-80 feet from shore.
Now the gripes: there's so many huge jagged rocks on the coast and shallows you'll get real close to breaking ankles or cutting skin. I don't want any fancy tropical diseases when hospitals are overrun with Rona. Bring some sandles or water shoes, you'll thank yourself (and me!). Another thing, it's too touristy for me. Parking being right there is super convenient, but that means lazy lawn chairs galore as some people just set theirs up right at the water line. I suppose for families it's fun.
But if you want really nice bit of adventure and make it seem like you're alone, even if for a few moments, hike to the north tip of the island. That's really where I believe this is one of the best beaches on the continent.
Sacha Cabral
Beautiful! Really nice spot for a family beach day. There were a lot of rocks in the section we went to so some footwear would be good.
Devin Thompson
Nice beautiful white sand beach with clear water, not very crowded and plenty of shells, but lookout for all of the rocks underwater. Some of which are very sharp. Its 8$ per car(limit 8 in a car) and parking is free with plenty of spaces.
Jelena Ristić
Today I was on the public beach here, too close to the Cafe and probably that is why I liked it for 3☆.
I think next time I'll go further down the road, too much stones at the beach and in the water
Suzanne Shafer
Peaceful secluded nature trail. Took my bike but ditched it halfway through as it was easier to walk. Beach is rocky in areas.
Janna Rolfe
Great park for lovely time on the beach and for watching nature. I love how you can see owls and eagles here and even see their juveniles sometimes. The naturalists here give great tours and can teach you and show you a lot
Heather Weaver
Rented a pavilion. The facilities are well maintained. The playground is the best I've seen yet, handicap accessible. Great place for a large gathering/cookout. Just don't forget the bug spray.
Jyotirmay Jena
Honeymoon Island is probably the best beach I have ever been to. We were lucky to see live dolphins (see my videos) . Lots of natural beauty. You are going to enjoy for sure.
Shannon Jacobs
We walked the shore line picking up a variety of shells. Lots of wild life here. We found a bright orange amenity, horseshoe crab, hermit crabs, stone crab, live conks, large birds and lots of dolphins.
Jessica Velasco
Always love visiting this beach. This is my absolute, all time favorite beach to go to!
CurlyGirl6
This is one of our absolute favorite places to go! There are different beaches on Honeymoon Island so we will take our family to North beach one day and then bring our dogs to the dog beach another day.
Convenient bathroom make it super easy for families and we even benefited from being able to buy hot food and a bag of ice last time we went.
A Perkinson
Honeymoon Island is quite beautiful. The shells aren't quite as varried or prominant as they use to be, however theres still a lot of beautiful pieces to be viewed or collected. It is very busy and there is limited parking so be prepared.
Sammy Rodriguez
Honeymoon island is a very nice place if you are looking for a quite beach. They have different spots along the coast. Plenty of parking space. Their walking trails are very nice and clean. Make sure to bring water and food because they don't have any vendings machines or place to get food. They even have a beach for your pet
A HK
What to say. Great sandy beach. Water is always warm. Free parking and lot of space. This park is great for biking, hiking, swimming. Be aware when waves are huge, it may pull you up to the open sea, or to the rocks...
Karen DeShane
I love Honeymoon Island great place to take the dogs out for a walk or find shells on the beach ,swim or bring a pole and do some fishing.
Kim Goodwin
Awesome, as always. Peaceful and lots of walking. Place for pets and a pavilion with food and bathrooms. There is also a learning, welcoming center on your way in.... or out😁👍🐕🧘🏼♀️🤸♀️🏊♂️🚣🚴♀️🚴♀️👩🏼🤝👨🏻🐕🦺🦮🏖 …
Francie Jeffers
This place is a family favorite. The facilities are great to have close to the beach as well as parking. The changing and bathroom building could use some kind of solar fan cause it gets hot in there. The beach is beautiful and always clean.
Lina Rigney
Beautiful beaches with seashells galore! Several parking lots to access beach areas. Picnic tables are sparse if you need one.
Catie Islas
This is my favorite beach here, I hate that everyone is finding this out too lol. No seriously, we've been going here since my 18 year old was 7 before we moved here; we see dolphins every single visit.
Jeanette Lynn
Best state park I've ever been to, and would go again and again. Small fee for the day, bring a picnic basket or you can eat there ( we did both) nice playground for the kids, nature walk is better in the morning mid afternoon - turtles, armadillos, birds, lizards and dolphins are visible at every turn. The beach is almost as beautiful as the sunsets. Two nights in a row dolphins were swimming at sunset. Park staff are very friendly and attentive and keeping the park clean, bathrooms are clean.
Edit: we're back again 2020!!! This place is amazing and never fails for it's beauty. The fee for 4 was $8 and we made an additional donation since they work so hard to take care of this treasure!
Scarlett Penford
❣️🦩 this is one of the most beautiful beaches I have been to in the USA. There are even restaurants here when you get hungry!#ScarlettSuggests ... Visit honeymoon Island State Park! …
Gena Drummond
If you are looking for a clean quiet beach, this is it. Walk the long stretch of beach and take a dip in the ocean. Soft white sand but many little shells in some sections at the water's edge. Can be a little rough on the feet in some patches but the shells are quite pretty. Limited amenities nearby. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5
吴锐恒(Ruiheng Edbalt Wu)
If you are willing to leave where the car can reach and walk some way to the north part of the island, you will see series of beaches surrounded by numerous tropical trees. The view is like what I have seen in the Bahamas as well as on the Caribbean islands.
Debbie Gerace
I've been here many times to go to the beach, but had no idea that an awesome nature trail was right there on the island as well. Eagles, owls, kestrels, all kinds of small birds, and beautiful views. Cant wait to go back!
Melissa Bruce
This is a beautiful state park. Not just great beaches with loads of shells, but a nature trail that is abundant with life. Bring your binoculars and your camera. You don't want to miss an opportunity.
BillAmy Hanlon
Very nice beach!...has a fairly large dog area, which is important to us...this time of year, not a lot of people there, which is also nice...will go again!...
Akhil Yeddula
Great park, but there a lot of parts of the beach that are completely flooded. Not that it matters too much because it’s a lot of fun.
Ashley Allen
Breathtaking views, hiking, fishing, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, and ample area for your family to find a spot to enjoy paradise.
Foster
Clean beaches, short walk from parking, restrooms, changing rooms, freshwater rinse, water was warm (August) and clear with sandy bottom and plenty of shell beds to pick through.

Fantastic experience every time. The shore and ample parking lot are extremely cle an. Lots of sea shells which is always fun!
If you have the time, walk the trail and experience the wonders. Lots of eagles, turtles and owls! Bring mosquito spray..
If you go to the visitors center they have a little museum and tons of info on the area. Don't forget the gift shop. Also they have a cool little scavenger hunt for kids.
Can not wait to come back!
Brandon Simmons
As good as it gets - a perfect Florida beach! I think it has the softest, whitest sand I’ve ever seen. Very important - go when tides are low!! It makes the beach about 10x’s bigger, exposes shells, sea sponges, and lots more area to explore.
The south 1/4 of the island is dog friendly and is a big draw. It’s not off leash. It about a third mile walk to reach it.
From Honeymoon you can take a ferry to get to Caldesi, another island with supposedly great and more secluded beaches.
Nice pavilion mid-way down the island road, it sells food, drinks, and toys with a nice 2nd level seating area overlook.

Beautiful 😍 the best kept secret. If you're looking for a tropical beach experience surrounding nature and natural beauty you can't get any better than this. 7 Beach areas to choose from, each offering a different vibe. Safe, quiet, walking trails, bike trail, owls, eagles, turtles, white sand, dog beach, ferry rides to another island, restaurant huts, rentals, calm waters.... seriously I can go on and on.
If you are a tourist please please please give yourself permission to experience a completely relaxing beach experience at honeymoon island.
Yang Xiong
Amazing huge beaches! We really enjoyed the time walking and picking shells in the park!
Christina “Goldfish” Thornley
Absolutely loved it. There's a ferry (we didn't use however) to another area, concession/food, pier for fishing and amazing area to swim and get wet with the entire family even little ones. My 1y old and 7y old absolutely loved the beach here. There's also bathrooms and pavilions, as well as a playground.
Will be back next year and try to utilize the ferry.
There is a fee for the ferry and to enter the park but I'd say it's worth it.
MARK DUFF
Trails were very exsecible, could be a little muddy depending upon the weather but still passable even for us seniors.
You will have no problems getting some wonderfull pictures of the many of osprey nesting in the area along with owls and the nesting pair of Bald Eagles.
Elisha G
Absolutely beautiful! White sand, clear water, lifeguards, and a nice sandbar. It's an easy walk from your car to the beach.
I was so sad to see all the trash in the water and on the beach though. You have to be careful at this beach, and I recommend wearing water shoes, because there are thousands of rocks in the water and on the beach.
Definitely worth it!
Tom Conner
Beautiful beach with no litter, good shelling at the right tide (PLEASE DO NOT TAKE LIVE SHELLS!).
Good biking and hiking trails two concession stands and plenty of parking.
Ranjit Lamba
This is really good park. In case, you are looking for something near and looking to spend some time with family, I think this is good place to visit. You can have very good view of sunset from here.
This is having beach, picnic park, nature trail and lots more. Fee is very nominal and parking is free.
They have cafe also inside.
BucsFanTony
Clear calm water with white sand. Beautiful sunset. The bathroom amenities are clean and efficient with changing areas in them. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off in.
Michael Howerton
Had a great experience. They have lots of stuff to do, including: walking a nature trail, a nature center, kayaking, a ferry ride, multiple beaches, picnic areas, playgrounds for the kids, and lots more! If you want to experience it all make it a multiple day trip, you cant see it all in one day.
Alyssa Twarogowski
The closest you're gonna get to paradise without being in the Bahamas. Gorgeous white sand with tons beautiful shells (definitely bring an extra bag). Lots of sea life swimming around. Clear water and sand bars you can swim out to. You can go so far out and still be in thigh deep water. Only $8 for parking. Absolutely stunning!
Elaine Barrus
Went on November so not crowded. Really enjoyed seeing all kinds of sea life at low tide.
Krishna B Kidambi
This is a very pleasant park near clear water. The park is really big and you can go for a all day picnic. There is plenty of parking. But we could not find a kayaking place inside the park. Even though it says there is a place to rent kayak. Please be advised about this. There are some kayak places outside the park though. The park is dog friendly.
Care Reno
This is one of my favorite beaches! No trip to Florida would be complete without a visit to Honeymoon Island. It's closed after sundown but you'll want to stay as long as you can. It's a great beach for shell hunters. The facilities are well kept and there is ample parking space too.
Tiffany Steinke
This beach is very close to my home and I will gladly pay the entrance fee any time to swim here. Sunbathing is also fun for those looking to get nice n brown. The stand out is the sunsets, unlike any sunset I have ever seen anywhere. It will get crowded on weekends and holidays but it's still one of the best beaches on the gulf coast. Do your self a favor and check it out. White sands, crystal clear water, shelling, snack bar, showers, bathrooms and plenty of parking. The sunset fee is one hour before sunset and we prefer to sunset swim so that is when I go most.
Laura Newman
Love this park! Always changing, always beautiful. Great for walking, shelling and relaxing. Water is usually calm and clear. Almost always see dolphins and a tortoise Sunsets are stunning. There is a small entrance fee, well worth it. Has a few trails, nature center and picnic area. Also a ferry to nearby Caladesi Island
Zach MacDonald
Great private beach if you walk all the way till the end (about 1.5 miles). Awesome nature trail as well!
anthony bonfim
This beach is pretty good 4 different beaches nature trails dog beach fishing bring your tubes kayak rentals and a lot of fun. The sign says no alcohol you do what you gotta do it your own risk
Elizabeth Kinney
Beautiful and amazing! Perfect for fishing, day out with family. The beach is perfectly kept, clean, plenty of parking, pet friendly, lots of space for a tent or sun shade. We loved it.
Shon G.
Best beach I've been to in Florida. Not a whole lot of people on the weekends, a café to grab an expensive lunch and use the bathroom facilities. The family loved swimming and looking for shells. We will come back next time we visit the area.
F*** Off S**R
Gorgeous Place to get there kayaking. A Lil hidden spot where you can go and relax, watching the waves and the sunset.
Alyson Teer
Beautiful clean beach went for sunset and got some great picture didn't find and shells even though it was low tide but still worth it. And only 4$ at sunset hours!
C Diaz
This beach park is one of the most beautiful and extremely well kept places in Florida. The water here is clear and not anywhere near cloudy or polluted. No trash floating around anywhere. If you're looking for a nice quiet beach that's not overpopulated/crowded, this is where you want to go. There's also a dog beach area if you're looking for a good place to take your fur kids out. Great place to fish and bring a kayak or a board as well!
Joanne Kowalski
We have a long standing tradition of taking a walk on the beach on Christmas eve. This year, we went a few days early, since we knew we couldn't make it on the 24th. Honeymoon Island is our usual destination. Some years are warmer than others, but we are never disappointed. There are several beaches there, so no matter your preference, there is a good spot for you. The Main Beach contains two areas; the dog beach is to the left and the people beach is to the right. Oasis beach is small, rugged and rocky, but beautiful. We love North Beach for its wide expanse and soft sand. Watch the water for dolphins feeding and the roads for turtles out for a walk of their own. Collect a few shells, hang them on a mangrove tree and make a Christmas wish. You'll be glad you visited.
M Groh
Excellent park. They have the normal beach section for typical beach fun, and miles of preserved shoreline with natural foliage and hundreds of birds. I’ve never seen so many ospreys in my life. Beautiful sunset. And to top off the night, 8 dolphins playing just off shore.
Mandi Taylor
Beautiful place! We visited in October 2016. We read other reviews and learned that we should take the time to walk the entire length of the beach. We made it to the tip of the island and the way the waters met was breathtaking! (It is quite a trek so plan for a bit of a workout!)
The staff at the gift shop/ Visitor's Center was incredibly helpful.
J B
Beautiful Beach and park. I love it.
kathlyn Pinay
This has been the best beach ive gone in florida so far, lot's of wildlife. Well kept with very relaxing atmosphere . The crowds are mostly group of family. the water is clear and very shallow great for kids.
Bryan McLean
Great location to feel what native florida was like. Several beaches, lots of lovely shells, dog park, a really great nature trail. One piece of warning. If its humid, avoid the trail towards the end of the day. Its mosquito heaven. Also..keep an eye out for tortoise on the roadway.
Jacquelyn Bowles
This is one of my absolute, favorite beaches. Just 10 minutes walk north from the North Parkimg Lot gets you to secluded, natural florida beach. No buildings, very few people and just gorgeous. Some type of footwear is suggested if you decide to walk to the less crowded areas of this beautiful location.
Charles Eldridge
Beautiful place well groomed nature trails. Freindly park rangers glad to point out points of interest. Saw Osprey, Great horned owl, Bald eagles, hawks andTortoise
linda barnett
We love this place. The beaches and trails are wonderful! Great for shells, sand, wildlife and sunsets. If you plan to walk the trails take your bug spray!
Baylee Bryan
Beautiful beach with great restaurants nearby. The beach is not too crowded - my only complaint would be the the abundance of seashells might hurt your feet, so water shoes would be a good choice here. I enjoyed my experience and will be returning
Filip K.
Very nice place for skimboarding and really close to my home. When there is super low or high tide, there are basically no shells in the water.
Lasse Lihdén
A Great place nice beaches and if you are lucky you get a visit from dolphins. We were lucky. It's a cost of $8 to drive out in the state park. 2,5 hr drive from Kissimmee and Orlando.
Willy Sagefalk
This beach is one of the best in Florida. It is not crowded like clearwater and you can park all day for 8 usd. There are several cafes with simple food like fish basket and burgers. You can sit outside and eat while overlooking the beach. There is a separate beach there dogs is allowed. If you walk the whole beach it is about 2.5 miles
Brooke T
More crowded than usual on a Tuesday afternoon and a lot of seaweed, but we still enjoyed the afternoon. The beach itself is beautiful and the water was lovely.
Aura Finol
Beautiful beach to enjoy a beautiful sunset. Beach isn’t good for swimming because has a lot of shells ( bring your beach shoes)
Mary “Mary Mac”
Beautiful beach. Went for a late afternoon swim and to watch that sunset but it was cloudy. Still a good place for a relaxing time. The beach was clean and not too crowded. The restrooms were clean too
Solim Cervantes
So nice beach I come here frequently to bring my dog because the dog beach is amazing. There’s also really good fishing
Ruth Teeninga
We love the North beach. Lovely soft white sand. The there is a great playground, and public restroom fairly close to the beach. Also some good nature trails
Lisa Barrett
We saw two bald eagles and three great horned owls. Not really a good trail for bike riding. More of a walking trail because of the deep sand in spots.
Carri GoNavy
Incredible. Beautiful. Breathtaking. It is a very busy beach because of the clear blue Gulf of Mexico waters and sugary white sand. There is a specific beach for dogs that is very nice. Great place to walk, fish, swim, take pictures, relax, and have fun. It was too busy so I walked further down the beach. There are plenty of restrooms and changing areas.
Zane Campbell
Wore out the mutt at the Dog Beach and headed to the North Beach of Honeymoon Island for a fantastic Sunset!
Steve Mutimer
I grew up around here in the 70s before it was a state park. It is as raw and gorgeous as ever. Bucket lister beach and natural park.
Mary Rivero
After eating at Frenchys bar and grill spent a little time taking in the sun rays beautiful along the Causeway.
Kevin Pflager
Very cool beach with great views of the ocean! Beautiful wildlife and insanely soft sand. Pretty much the reason you come to Florida!
Des C.
It was a perfect place to relax and spend some time with my mom before leaving Florida. Parking was cheap and easy to find. We went on a partly cloudy day, but we still got lots of sun. If you're not too picky about what section of the beach you're on, it's not hard to set up a space for you and any company you may have. People were very respectful of each other's space, at least while we were there.
I did notice there is a specific section set aside for people who brought their dogs with them. We didn't have our furry friends with us, but perhaps we'll check that out on our next visit.
K Caffee
Nice little park with a small interpretive center. The history here is interesting. You can take a ferry over to a more secluded beach. The place has showers, restrooms, a gift shop and a small concessions. I’ve done it once, don’t feel the need to go again. A nice day trip out with a friend.
Troy Andersen
Water like the Caribbean and miles of beaches. Take the fairy over to the other island also. $8 fee to get in.
lynn smith
Once you get over paying to get in it's very nice. Showers and restrooms in several locations. Food and drinks available. If it's crowded you can walk and get away from the crowd. Picking and hiking areas.
logan chamness
Lived just down the street from here so this was a place we visited almost daily. This is a prestine paradise and I miss it everyday.
Irene Vertullo Gersch
Literally better then Bahamas and Caribbean islands. The water is crystal blue clear. The sand is soft, white, and the service and activities, or like being at a resort.
c m
Wonderful day. Easy parking. Clean facilities. North beach offers chair and umbrella rentals. Stay for the sunsets.
Jessica Jacobs
great dog beach, wish they had trash can around for poop bags though. It's a decent trek to the beach from the parking lot lugging all the things we had (2 dogs and a toddler)
Amitha Shet
Exotic!
Very beautiful beach… while we there we saw lovely fogs covering the beach in a distant and then it was spreading across everywhere near our shoreline. This was kind of magical! It was a different feel altogether. It’s a kid friendly beach and the waters are amazing! A must go to beach!
Kellie “Dee Dee”
One of our favorite beaches. So Beautiful and well maintained.
Damian Kevitt
Beautiful state park, well worth the drive a park admission. Saw so much wildlife (and some dead life).
Sharon Hatcher
Still warm water pockets from Sandbars. Literally a wading pool for grown ups. If you want waves, these can be found about an 1/8 of mile off shore as well. Beach is rocky, you will need some type of shoe. Food and water is accessible, but pricey $$$. Great walking trails, fishing, and biking trails. A great place to come and visit.
Janice Johnston
We wanted to enjoy one last beach before heading back home and Honeymoon didn't disappoint. Sitting on the beach listening to the waves, getting out and doing a bit of body surfing and walking along looking at all the different shells was awesome.
Marwan
very beautiful place to hike
Honeymoon Island State Park is a Florida State Park located on Honeymoon Island, a barrier island across St. Joseph's Sound from Palm Harbor, Ozona, and Crystal Beach. The park is 385 acres in land area with 2,400 acres submerged and 4 miles of beach from Wikipedia
Cody Williams
One of my favorite places in the Tampa Bay area. $4 for single occupancy car, $8 for 2+8 people. You'll pass the dog park and ferry to Caladisi Island first (the only access to Caladisi) then oasis and North Beach on your left, and the nature center and pelican/osprey trails on your right. The trail runs through some unique Florida scrub pines on a flat walk. Keep your eyes on the ground there for the Gopher Tortoises and in the sky to see the Ospreys in the trees.
The beach is awesome, with a nice flat for walking out or fishing. Make sure to catch the sunset right before the park closes!
