Reviews of Montauk State Park
This is hands down the absolute most amazing place in my life. I have been consistently traveling down here for 22 years and I mean it when I saw this park is magical. Pictures are cool but when I say this I mean it. Experience this park. It is the only way to understand what I mean. From the lodging staff, to the conservation department, all the way to the campers and park visitors. Everyone is usually in a great mood and really good company. You'll create new memories and learn something new about yourself every year. Well at least that's my experience. Enjoy these pictures of my experience and may you come down and create your own here. Theres even a scenic overlook close by and 2 pretty cool swimming areas!
This was our first time visiting Montauk and it did not disappoint. The park is stunningly beautiful and everyone that works at The Lodge is so friendly and helpful. Our favorite was Miss Kim. The Lodge has wonderful food in the diner and also a “bar” out front where you can get food, ice cream, shakes, snacks and drinks.
The cabin was clean and had everything we needed.
If you’re looking to get away where the air is fresh, the water is clear and the people are friendly, go to Montauk.
Park closes a bit earlier than id like but it was relatively nice. It's a fun little trail to enjoy with the family. I would definitely suggest trying this one out at least once or twice. I like to stretch my legs on every trail I find at least a few times.
1. Spacing: enormous for campers and visitors with fun things to do in nature for most of the time. Toilets could be widely spaced out and could be a disadvantage for some.
2. Activities: fishing, camping, hiking and more.
3. Information: handouts and info pamphlets available, also signs all around.
4. Wi-Fi: poor and not easily accessible although you can use your mobile data. The place being nature park one shouldn't expect fool coverage especially given the gigantic size of the land.
5. Nearby: fish hatchery to feed fishes. Feed cost a quarter I believe.
6. Recommendation: absolutely, for nature lovers and occasional hang outs too. In the photo section the hatchery is also included for those interested.
Montauk State Park was a nice stay. It was winter and busier than expected. We were nestled in a spot under some trees right next to the Current River. Montauk is within the Ozark National Scenic Riverways. We only stayed one night. It was pleasant. There is absolutely no cellphone service for Verizon. Highly recommend downloading maps & movies before your arrival. You must fill your water tank at the park entrance during the winter.
Beautiful and fun. We go every year for the trout fishing because we love it. This year we are going back in September.
Loved camping here between Christmas and NYE. The Pine Ridge Trail is excellent. Such a beautiful state park.
This place is beautiful! The staff is so helpful, it's well organized, and everything you need is right in the park. Not to mention the fishing is great! We took the kids (5,10,11) and they loved being able to see the fish and fishing. Also the deer walk around in broad daylight like they own the place.
This state park is very nice, the stream is beautiful and fully stocked daily. Has beautiful scenic areas, a spring, walking paths, hatchery, and BBQ grills every where. You can stay at the trout resort that's on the property but it does get kinda busy during holidays. But if you don't wanna lodge bring a tent, has different areas with a roughing it campground and electric ones. I'll definitely be bringing my family here more and more.
Friendly people, beautiful setting. Met my sister here, stayed in cabin 10 with our dogs. Comfortable cabin. Can't wait to come back with our brother.
Great place to bring the family for a relaxing camping and fishing trip. I've been going every year for the past 20+ years! I don't plan on stopping anytime soon
Trout fishing is the big thing here. Spring feed water. Camping areas from tents to glampers with clean shower houses. Trails for miles and a little store and restaurant within the park. Just please help keep it clean!
The Park was a peaceful place. It was so quiet an beautiful. Many campers an many fishmen yet it was just magical. We shall return. My brother an my nephew have their names on the biggest fish caught placket in the restaurant. Enjoyed the good food there. We loved Montauk State Park,
Natural beauty and resource management combine to create one of most amazing places I've ever had the pleasure of visiting.
Really fun place and even more so this time of the year, nobody else around. Great way to start the New Year!
Weekend Camping and exploring was really awesome. If you are a fisherman, you will be in paradise! This park has streams galore (Pigeon Creek and the Current River) and a wonderful swamp and lake. Kids will enjoy seeing the trout rearing pools. There are public playground and picnic grounds as well. The old mill is a good stop. It was closed when we went due to COVID 19. Montauk State Park also has a dining lodge and a motel. There are cabins available as well. The campground has 4 loops of sites ranging from basic to electric premium. We camped in site 429. It was not the most spacious campground, but it was not noisy the weekend we were there. The volunteers and hosts were very friendly. We liked that they have a recycling program and make it really easy for you to do that. You can see more about the campground and our visit to the park at Happy Trails Hiking on YouTube.
Honestly, best State Park I ever been to. Small, quiet, peaceful. For it being a small park, it has a lot to offer! They even have a restaurant that is probably the best food I've ever eaten. If you plan an outing for a craving for outdoors, this place is the only place you'll need.
Had a great time. We stayed 2 nights in the campground. Very nice. Camp hosts and maintenance workers do a good job keeping the camp and park nice. There were quite a few fishermen but not as many in the past. We did a lot of bike riding.
This place is amazing. I caught two rainbow trout, cleaned them, took them to the lodge, and they fried them up for me fresh and in a Jiffy.
Went for trout. Got trout. Close to limit for 4-1/2 days. Had good time despite the ungodly heat...🥵 …
Once a year fishing trip with my Son and close friends. Wouldn't miss it for anything. It doesn't get any better .
Small serene part just outside of Salem. Nice cabins available for overnight stay. River is gorgeous coming through the foothills.
Absolutely fantabulous experience figured I will recommend it over and over again. It's a lovely place with the lovely history. You will not be disappointed. I loved it!
We stayed at the campground in our rv. We had an electric only site, so we filled up with water on entry and dumped on the way out. All very easy and convenient. The sites are quite spacious. We used the bathhouse a couple of nights fir showers. The water was hot, but there are only 2 stalls. The lodge offers food and a shop. The ice cream there is a great treat. We hiked the longer trail through the woods and the smaller ones near the spring and hatchery. All very good. Beautiful park, but geared for fishing. No swimming.
Awesome park. So many spots to fish out of that it does not seem crowded. Camp sites are fairly large so plenty of room there. The bathrooms and showers are nice and cleaned everyday. We went for a walk all around the place and there is so much to do in the 2 days we were there.
Water is beautiful, the fishing is good, and the park is clean! If you love trout fishing, this is a place to visit.
Very beautiful area to explore and camp. Great for trout fishing.
Beautiful place to visit. Will come again in the future and rent a cabin and do some trout fishing 🎣 …
I've been visiting this park for over 20 years and it only gets more beautiful. Great fishing. Great place.
This park was super clean. Even the bathrooms were nice...a huge improvement over the absolutely filthy outhouses that are at Bennet springs state park that we went to the weekend before this for opening day on trout. We had a blast trout fishing here and then stopped to barbeque with the kids for lunch. The old mill is so cool looking. Didnt get a chance to see inside it though.
Love going to this park. In my opinion it is the best of Missouri's four trout parks. Weather was great and there were plenty of spots to fish.
I will definitely be back! This place was amazing! Friendly people the Current River was pretty 😍 Just wished it was a little warmer but you know... in MO, if you don't like the weather stick around, it will change! …
Great staff at the lodge. Good food at the snack bar. But most importantly the fishing was fantastic! Spent 4 nights/ 5 days. I'll go back for sure.
Montauk state park has many things to offer for people who love camping and fishing.
Campsites are spacious with or without electric. No water or sewer hook up. Water spouts are located at several places around the campgrounds. (Tip, i use a 150 ft hose and am able to fill my tank any time). If your dirty watertank is full they have a full cleaning station at the campground entrance. Bathroom/shower/washing and dryer room are decent. They are older and might need some upgrades in the near future. The lodge / store / restaurant are very nice, friendly and helpfull staff. The hotel rooms are a bit small but the cabins and appartments are great. If anything should be wrong the staff will go above and beyond to fix it. The river (current river)is stocked with trout on a daily basis, stocked amound may vary depending on visitors at given time. It's a pleasure to be on or in the water. Expect a decently strong current, accessible at many places. The area is wooded and lots of shade on campground and along the river as well are the cabins. If you never been here but love camping and trout fishing, it is a must have done this at least once. Prices of campground is very decent around $ 25 per night. Cabins are a bit on the expensive side around $150- $200 a night. Motel rooms are around $115 per night. Overall an experience you should try.

Love the whole experience of this place! Very laid back and peaceful. 10/10 recommend if you are a fisherman!
Such a Beautiful Park. So much fun to go fly fishing, walk the trails, and relax in the park.
Ammenities--Play structures and swings for the kids, BBQ's and tables, bathrooms, showers, camping, lodge with gift shop, fishing supplies, Ice, worms, waders, hats, clothes, tshirts and some foods and candy plus more. Many great spots to fish from the banks or in the water. Highly recommend this park to everyone. 100+*****
It is a lovely park ! Tons of wild life . Enjoyed the park so much. Now my company was not so enjoyable. Probably cause I out fished them😁 …
The great outdoors. Gets crazy for parking at the opening of the season. But like all MO state parks, its a beautiful place to enjoy nature. Take yourself or the family and get outside and take a break from the daily grind.
Beautiful place! Nice hiking trails and cabins. The old water mill is still standing.
We had some reason, but it still is our favorite park. Spacious campsites, great trout fishing & good neighbors.
Awesome place. Will love to take my kids and grandkids to go fishing.
The faculties were nice the only reason I gave a 4 star is because of the “campground host.” He drove by us at least two times on his golf cart and didn’t say a word. He waited until we left to go fishing to put a note on our door telling us we weren’t on the pad the right way (see photos). If he would had the fortitude just to tell us instead of just watching us a simple 3 min fix could have been done. Instead he waited. We had to pull everything in at that point to move the trailer 3 feet.
The park is beautiful and well maintained. The Current River is crystal clear. We camped in the park and our site #113 in loop 1 backed up to the river. The sites are close together so there's no privacy but the camp ground wasn't full, so it never felt crowded.
Clean, friendly, convenient campsite. The vista was excellent and I enjoyed watching the fishing and learning about the parks efforts. We bought an ice cream at the store and it was refreshing a fair price. A nice place to camp, we will return.
I brought my kids here now ky grandkids. Always clean, great play areas and beautiful nature all around!
Awesome place to go to. Love the fishing and all the nature there is beautiful
Love this place! It's my favorite park in the Midwest
Great state park! Everything was clean and well kept. My cousin and i shared a family site.
I've been coming to Montauk since I was a baby. 42 years later and it's still one of my favorite places. It really is my 2nd home.
The trout fishing is fantastic and the park is such a peaceful place. It's quite a bit more crowded than it was when I was a kid but, especially if you visit during the week, you can still find a serene, quiet place to cast a line and relax.
Free admission, countless things to see and do! Whether youre 9 or 99 year old, thisnplace is amazing. Nature at its finest!
It was so Beautiful! People we're so Nice! Absolutely loved it and I will be coming back and bringing more friends and family 😊❣️ …
A great place to go for family vacation! The trout fishing is pretty good and the service at the lodge is amazing!
A terrific place to explore and spend the day. Fishing, hiking, walking .. great trails and very well maintained!
Gorgeous. Like all state parks lately, it is crowded. I wouldn't venture there on a weekend again.
Awesome place to fish, camp, picnic, hike, bbq, bike, and relax! Been coming here with family and friends for over 20 yrs.
It's so nice to have a clean state park like Montauk to go fishing at. Thank You to the many employees that do such a great job there. It's a great place to spend the weekend or the whole week at an the fishing is awesome too.
Lots to do and explore! Beautiful! Would recommend camping and fishing there.
Adorable state park with a stocked stream of trout every morning. Fun for friends and family, been coming for decades.
Super nice park lots to see and they have a spot to feed the trout for 25 cents super clean too
Disappointed in the food but service was good and had a beautiful view at dinner . The Deer came right up to the windows while I was eating
Always a good time visiting, I've managed to get some nice photos from there no matter the weather.
Safe place. Clean place. Friendly place. Only reason I didn't give it a five-star is the food is pricey and not that great
Unfortunately it is more cost-effective to drive all the way into Salem even with gas prices
It is the best place ever. You can tent camp, rv/camper camp, rent cabins, and rent motel rooms.
We love Montauk.
Loved park and fishing but our camp site was low and it rained so had 2 inches of water all around our teardrop which did drain but we were left in MUD! Will know to ask for different site next time
This is a wonderful state park with access to the Current river for many, if not all. It is a beautiful seeing and just so calming.
Very scenic and peaceful. The park is well kept. Lots of picnic areas and restrooms.
This is me and my son's absolute favorite place to be. We are there every year for Father's Day weekend. He has been fishing since before he could walk.
Great hiking trails, of course the trout fishing and everybody here is happy, what's up with that. DO IT!!!
I have been going here every year with my family since I was a little kid. the trout fishing is amazing and there are plenty of good holes along the stream to fish. The campground has many sites and the cabins are great. I hope you find some time to pay a visit!!
There are a lot of activities to do here but it is frustrating that you aren't supposed to get in the river unless you are fishing. It gets so hot when you walk around that a nice cool splash of water would be nice!
The trail that goes through the woods is a bit of a hard climb at one end and is usually overgrown through most of it. Despite that, it can be a beautiful hike! It's just a bit hard on my young ones who get smacked in the face with grasses and weeds so often. You do have to cross a highway at one point and a gravel road at another point, you just have to be careful and listen for cars at the highway since the road is curvy there. There are some beautiful views, especially when you overlook the river near the hatchery building.
There are three areas where they keep fish and you can feed them at one location. There is a restaurant and store located in the main building.
There is an old mill, cabins, a campground, a spring, several playgrounds, and picnic areas. I'm probably forgetting something, there's just so much to do there!
Beautiful! Can't wait to camp or rent a cabin! Drove through and seen the spring and it was amazing!
Everything a state park should be. Good fishing, restaurant, cabins and rooms. Beautiful area.
Excellent place to visit me and my wife was just there and we loved it the lodge is good
Beautiful place to camp and trout fish. $4. Permit gets you a 4 fish limit per day.
One of my favorite places to camp. Wish it was easier to reserve a campsite.
We had a great time. Stayed in cabin 24 it was clean and well equipped. Housekeeping came every day. Although we didn't need thier services, they were so friendly and accommodating. At the lodge everyone was so friendly. The river was beautiful, caught lots of trout.
A great Missouri State park to visit. We fished and had a late lunch.
Food was delicious friendly service.Awesome veiw geat fishing.
A beautifully maintained park with very friendly staff. Everything you could need at the lodge
Did not catch a fish but it was a beautiful day. We left and went to fish at montauk.
I love this park so relaxing .my family have such great time never gets old we have been a few times
It was pretty good. Nice place and it was full. You have cool running water near your campground. Lots of people, it was packed in September when we went. You can get electricity as well. Bathrooms were clean and had showers in them as well. They have a few nice hatcheries. A few trails to walk on. An old mill but we couldn't go in it. Some bad things are unless you have at&t you ain't getting any phone service at your campground or pretty much anywhere with one exception. The only place you'll get service of any kind is at the lodge with their free wifi a little ways down the road and nowhere else will there be any service for many many miles or a gas station either. The food and drink prices are high. They also have very strict rules on fishing. 4.00 a day I believe it was. You aren't allowed to go in the water anywhere near the people that are fishing. They ring an alarm when you can fish and when you have to stop fishing. One guy that drives around the campground on his golf cart made us get our van off the grass. Also if you bring a skillet or griddle you aren't supposed to wash it out at your campground under the faucet for some weird reasons. It's a good place to camp at to go kayaking down the current river which was very fun. I would wait till the water is up higher next time cuz we were dragging on the rocks numerous times. There's a couple nice caves on the water you can look at and the ruins of an old hospital while kayaking.
Loved it. Caught some nice fish. Had a ton of fun...
Very nice state park if you like fishing for stocked trout. While the popular holes are crowded, especially on weekends, there is usually room to spread out and get away from the crowds. The campground is well-run, with a good shower house with hot--or at least warm--water. Many campsites are shaded. My only complaint is that the campsites are small, so there is little privacy.
Neat place, beautiful clear water, awesome trout
Great rainbow trout fishing with plenty of room to repair and bait poles. Fishing areas are setup to maintain social distancing as well.
Great park. Stay right on the stream. Friendly people. Highly recommend
2nd year there..great place
Love to enjoy the fishing n fresh outdoors
Clean organized park. Been camping here for 30 years.
Been coming here for 50+ years great place to fish This is Glory Hole
Beautiful RV camping park. Bring your bicycle! Nice big shady trees. Sites located very close to the cool water.
This place is mostly for trout fishing but there's some good bird watching there too! The inn/hotel/restaurant/store has some surprisingly great food and some dated but beautiful decor. The new bathrooms off loop 4 are nice and clean and the memories with family will last forever.
Great place if you're a fisherman looking for a challenge. If you're not a fisherman, it's still an absolutely gorgeous park. Crystal clear streams, picnic areas, etc. They make the BEST ice cream!
Beautiful getaway and wonderful place to fish. My family almost always fished at Bennett Springs Park, but now come here instead, time and time again. From our experience the river is better stocked with larger fish than other places.
Been coming here before I was even born! Got my husband hooked the first time I brought him down in 1985. We come many times a year!! Our favorite camping/trout fishing place!!
This place is gorgeous. Great trout fishing and camping!
I have been fishing here for over 20 years. Favorite Missouri park.
Very beautiful place. Lots of trout fishers out there.
We loved or stay at the Park! An awesome campground!
We also loved our float trip down the current river! We will be back again!
Always a blast so many memories growing up and now making more with my kid. Fishing is easy and a blast. Campground is nice and Shady. To much sand from all the flooding. The lodge has everything you forget just be ready to pay. But the restaurant is great! Overall I'll be coming here every year till it no longer exists or till I no longer exist.
Kid's Love it and were having fun watching the fish here, good fishing erea though.
Great place to fish and visit
Great place for camping and trout fishing
Great food, mill was closed on Sundays, beautiful camping, cabins, fishing or just walking. Love the fish hatchery. Picnic areas. They will even cook the fish you catch if you want.. Great place for us humming bird lovers.
Love coming here. Always have a nice catch to bring home and beautiful mornings on the eater to remember. Nice campground and staff, I come a few times each year.
Kiddos and adults always love the hatchery and feeding the fish.
Best trout fishing and scenery in Missouri. Always a blast here.
Beautiful, clean park. Family and pet friendly. Great fishing and wonderful staff!
Great place, except the restaurant in the lodge has gone down hill. For 2 pancakes, 2 bacon and 1 egg was $10.50 . Wasn't even delicious, just eh okay. For the price the bacon should of been top quality, but was cheap bacon, and I ordered an overeasy egg, which wasn't. It was hard egg. 🙁 Also a souvenir sticker should not cost $3.99 for a piece of paper not even the size of my hand. Very unhappy about some of the price marks ups in the shop itself. Other than that it's a great place to camp and for your family love the ambience of the place.
Camped her for 4 days. Very clean and camp host were friendly. The actors selling trout license were rude and unprofessional. All acted like the didn't want to work there.
This was a very nice campground. The camp sites are large enough for almost any size rig or camper. All spots have electric. Water is available in several areas of each section and there is a dump station in two sections.
You have no privacy with people walking through your spot to go fishing or getting water and with kids playing.
But ,this is a State fishing park geared towards family and everyone was nice and friendly. I would go back and camp again.
The camp hosts were excellent!
We love staying at Montauk State Park. We usually stay for two weeks and one of the weekends we have family weekend. All the grown kids and grandkids come and stay for the weekend either in one of the lodges or in a tent. It is a beautiful State Park. Montauk State Park (along with some other Missouri State Parks) has started a recycling program. A ranger will give you a bag made from netting material that you hang at your campsite and fill with aluminum cans and plastic bottles. They will collect up the recyclables as needed. Definitely cuts down on the trash generated from so many campers.
This was the first time here,Kayla was our waitress. Our waitress was great,we received drinks in no time along with our appetizers! Our steaks was exactly what we ordered in a timely manner!!! My husband and I are looking forward to coming back again soon!
Great stay at this Missouri State Park. Stayed in one of their cabins and was pleasantly surprised. Accommodations were immaculate. Will definitely be back. Food at lodge breakfast, lunch and dinner was very good. Very friendly staff. Hand dipped ice creme each night was perfect t ending to the day plus we caught our limit of trout each day.
A beautiful location, especially in fall, great for trout fishing throughout the season!
New management hasn't negatively impacted the experience either.
Trout of all sizes! Worth the drive off the beaten path for one of the cleaner, more well maintained places in the Missouri Park system. Wish the gist mill would have been open when we where there, but the kids really dig feeding the fish...who doesn't really?
A beautiful place to take your family and trout fish. They have cabins and a real nice restaurant, plus the scenery is really pretty.
Can't say anything bad. Great relaxing park with trout fishing in season. The store has most everything you need and a nice diner as well as a dining room with full meals. Love coming here every year. The lodges are a little rough inside, but there better than a tent!
If you love trout fishing, you will love this state park.
Great park. Have went to opening day for many years. Lodge gets crowded opening morning. Best to go the day before to get trout tag. This year we caught the biggest stringer of fish ever on opening morning
Another great trip, had lunch and dinner at the lodge very good food, prices are a little high but you don't have to drive to get there you can walk.
Beautiful park and amazing place for trout fishing
First time visiting thought the place was awesome. Plan on taking the grandkids there to go fishing
Very nice place to visit. Very clean place and facilities are very clean as well.
There were 8 in our party and we maxed out our limit of trout in just a couple hours (our first time ever trout fishing). Left us plenty of family time. Other guests were respectful of each other. Staff could have been more informative about the area and how to trout fish. All in all, it was a decent place to fish and camp.
If you want to leave the city behind this is the place. I've camped, lodged, and stayed in the cabins, all top notch. Great place to fish and plenty of space to fly fish too. Awesome natural spring with well manicured and maintained streams and pathways. If you like outdoors you should enjoy this honey spot.
This is a great place to fish, camp or just relax. The cabins are also very nice especially after the remodels. The lodge has a good buffet on the weekends and good meals other times with a very friendly and helpful staff. I have spent time there by myself and been with a group as large as in the 20’s and the park can handle them all. Did I mention the great trout fishing!
I love this place. I've been going to Montauk State Park since I was 7 years old. Now that I'm 60, I think I know it pretty well. The cabins are very nice, well maintained and up to date. The places are clean. We wentto Montauk State Park near Halloween. They had special programs of historic value which everyone from my grandchildren to me, truly enjoyed. The whole experience at Montauk is wonderful. And the fishing is excellent.
I come here just for opening day trout fishing, the staff is extremely friendly at the lodge and food is just like eating at grandma's house.
Fantastic place to go trout fishing. The camping is great and you can even rent a cabin if you call early to get one reserved. Nice little store and a restaurant that serves all you can eat. The area has some beautiful scenery and there are all kinds of things to do. Couldn't want a better place fora outing with the family.
Nice park tons of history and things to do and see for all ages. Nice facilities and staff. Store had good cinnamon rolls that were yummy. Only complaint is rv dump stations have small pipes for dumping. Only park Ive ever had issues with a standard rv hose not fitting.
I love this park. I've been camping here for 30 years. It's a beautiful place with a well shaded camping area. The only reason I don't give Montauk a 5 is that while the camping area is beautiful, many of the sites don't drain well after years of flash floods left silt behind. It's only bad after a rain, but needs to be addressed.
We spent three days here at one of their cabins. Very clean and comfortable beds. We ate all of our meals at the lodge and the food was very good. Fishing was fine and scenery was beautiful! Looking forward to returning!
Angie & John
Missouri is a great state for conservation! Montauk is beautiful, peaceful and well maintained. The people who work at the Lodge are saints! If you have a question about anything in the park, they will help you get an answer. It's a great place for trout fishing though activities for children are limited. It's safe though and their various accommodations outside of the campgrounds are clean and rustic comfortable. Bring your own sharp prep knives and potato peeler, if you are inclined to cook.
Came for our first visit on Opening Day and it was a blast!! We will definitely be back!! We liked it so much that my husband bought me my own waders and vest so I’m ready to go for our next trip!
Gave it 4 stars because there is only one fish cleaning station in the whole park.
Gone here a couple time with our camper and it's campgrounds are very nice. Some sand on them because of the last flood but it better now. Very nice clean bathrooms, showerhouses, and lodge. Love trout fishing down there and it's easy for waders. Love going to the hatcheries. Thoughs are cool. Great park. Going back soon.
Been going there since 1996 & go every year. Sometimes no cell signal, but that's why u go camping. To get away from everything. Always a nice place & the nicest atmosphere!
Nice park very clean
This is an awesome park which offers opportunities for fishing, camping, hiking and picnicking, and it's also home to the historic Montauk Mill. We took the short hike to see the spring, and it's beautiful.
There's also a fish hatchery in the park, and the rearing pools are popular with visitors.
There's a lodge and rental cabins available for those who don't care to camp. The staff members we encountered were friendly and helpful.
Best trout park in Missouri. Great sites and atmosphere. The river has much more fishing real estate than Bennett or Roaring River. Been going for over 10 years now.
Beautiful clear water for trout fisherman. Lots of lodging options....not fancy. Nicest lodging are condos that are reserved well in advance. Nice shaded campsites...primitive & electric. Camping loops ideal for kids on bikes.
Great place for a mini vacation (if you're a trout fisherman). Be sure to have Waders, there's not a whole lot of bank fishing. The area is all natural so there are no sidewalks, be prepared for wildlife and bugs. Lodging restaurant wasn't the best but it's good enough to eat at for the duration of your stay.
Great place to fish, camp and just have a great time in the outdoors!
Forgot to get your fishing license? No worries, you can purchase them there.
You will have to get a park fishing tag if you plan to fish.
Multiple play equipments for the kids, pavilions and picnic tables to bbq and eat at.
I love Montauk. It's only 20 mins from our farm. Beautiful scenery. It's where's the Current River begins! You can actually walk to the beginning of it... hundreds of gallons of fresh, freezing cold, spring water is bubbling out of the ground! The mill is interesting. Trout fishing is great. You can feed the trout with food right there. It costs very little to feed the fish. Nice playground, day picnic areas, wonderful camping areas.
Beautiful location. Excellent trout fishing. Clean campgrounds.
The restaurant prepared a perfect pork ribeye, with compound butter.
We will be coming back..
Crowded for Memorial Day but we expected as much. Staff at the campground was super friendly and helpful.
This is a very nice park we stayed for for nights. Our reserved sight was next to the garage dumpster which was full and running over, very bad smell all week. No one offered us that we could change sights. The camp host was grouchy. That being said it was a beautiful park and we had a good time just be sure not to reserve anywhere around the dumpster.
Beautiful scenery. Great place to have a family trip. There are playgrounds for kids, areas to fish with a license, a hatchery to feed fish, camping grounds, and a lodge type place with souvenirs, icecream, a restaurant, and rooms to stay in. You can also get a fishing license (for a price) at the Montauk lodge along with bait, and fishing equipment.
Outstanding trout park. I think the best in the state. All of the staff went out of the way to be helpful. The food at the lodge was good and prices were in line with other places. Spent 3 days there the first weekend in October. We had a great time. I am looking forward to my next trip.
My kids loved it here great for families to relax
Opening day is like nothing ever experienced before. Huge 8 to 10lbs trout being caught in every part of the park. Campground was packed but was still roomy with very nice people running everything. The campground restaurant was very nice. Feeding a lot of people for opening day was no small task.
Love going in the fall too it's so beautiful there. With many other parks available no others bring to the table what is available at Montauk.
Great place for serious fly fisherman all the way down to complete beginners! The park has lots of places to fish from shallow ripples to deep pools so no matter how you like to trout fish you are taken care of here. You don't catch as many fish here as some of there other trout parks but you catch bigger ones more often. make sure to bring everything you will need at the park, it is a good ways from town and the lodge has a somewhat limited supply. When you are ready to take a break from fishing the restaurant at the lodge is a pretty good place to eat. The campground are pretty clam and some are pretty much right on the river so you have a short walk to the water in the morning and a great view.
Wonderful place for family to just relax. Clean bathrooms with running water is a major plus.
Nice restaurant, good food , decent prices
One of my favorite parks, I've been a visitor since before I can remember. Great place for trout fishing as they stock the river regularly during season. Prefect for camping and RV. Often a great chance to see the local Bald Eagle during roosting.
Fantastic park! This place offers lodging, trout fishing, and a camping area with shower house. The hatchery was a neat experience also!
Was in the area and decided to stop by.
Wow what a nice park! People were friendly and helpful.
We will be returning as soon as possible to grab a cabin and fish.
Beautiful scenery but SUPER crowded! The campsites are extremely close together with essentially no privacy. There are 2 hiking trails, this is really a park for fishing and that's about it. Very pretty but I'm not going back.
Been fishing Montauk for 55 years now. Beautiful park with the most and largest variety of trout fishing water. Always changing, due to Mother Nature.
Camp ground is very nice, (Remember 50 cents a night for camping). But I prefer a cabin these days. Doesn’t get any better, other than doing winter time catch and release in January and having almost the whole park to yourself. Plenty to do for the kids and alot of wildlife rounding around.
Staff at the lodge is great. Gregg is a very friendly guy, He's the best.
You won't be desappointed with a visit.
We visited over the weekend and had an awesome time! Nice campground and great fishing. The workers at the lodge were really nice and helpful. Already wanting to plan another trip back!
Beautiful state park. But we had storms all night long. No sleep, but we will be back to explore! Trout fishing looked amazing! Camp host was so nice!
Have been going for years nice park
Such a fantastic place at spend the weekend! So many things to do and explore and plenty of trees to keep it cool. We always have a good time here and the staff are too notch
First trip to Montauk could not have been better. Beautiful weather and plenty of fish. We had great success with our dough bait. The spot we found was so plentiful with fish we didn't go anywhere else all weekend. Camping was great though people let their kids run wild without supervision but i was having a great time so who cares amiright. Wifi was nonexistent except by the lodge but thats not why i was there lol. I cant wait to go back.
Great place to fish or walk or picnic.family oriented.very well kept
Beautiful scenery beautiful drive in. Go see the spring close flat walk. The battery is neat feeding the fish. Trout fishing was fun. Great campgrounds electric only with dump stations.
Third time I've been here and I love it so much, definitely a family environment
Come here once a year. Campsites are descent. Accommodate tents to RVs. Several restrooms and showers in reasonable walking distance. Nice general store and restaurant, motel rooms and cabins for rent if camping isn't your thing. Lots of picnic areas with multiple playgrounds.
Do you fish for trout? If so this is the park for you! Fantastic trout fishing awaits nestled between bluffs, with a bait shop and dining lodge if you get hungry. A large campground with full ammenities is just past the dining lodge.
Conservation stocks the waters frequently with trout and agents as well as park rangers are happy to assist in any law issues or needs you may have. Park staff is also very happy to help out!
Beautiful campground, lots of fishermen actually catching fish. We had a nice kayak float on the Current River...cold water!
Just drove thru it and seemed really nice
I come here every year with friends and family and we've never had a bad time! They keep the campgrounds very clean while also providing some of the best trout fishing around!
Must love trout fishing. And people watching. Back to nature kind of place. The store is fun. Ice cream soda counter is awesome. Dining room not so much. Food is bad, service staff are overworked.
Such a beautiful place. Lots of play area for the kids and looked to be great trout fishing.. Not very many trails but the Spring was gorgeous!
Visitors shop is pretty good, and it's a state park. We'll groomed and maintained, lots of people and camping. It's for outdoorsman and fishermen.
Enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant. Great selection in the gift shop. Lots of t-shirts and fishing supplies.
Our favorite place to grill with our family.
Lots of fishing and exploring to be done at Montauk State Park! Make sure you stop in at the Lodge and grab a nice soda or meal
It's a very beautiful place to go and relax and have a good time do a little fishing
I also enjoy the strawberry cheesecake waffle cone
I haven't been to Montauk in a number of years but always loved it other than how far it was from KC. I used to go a couple of times a year and need to make an effort to go back. The thing I appreciated most was the remote feel and the lack of fishing pressure. As a fly fisherman, I like the solitude Montauk has to offer.
Great camping and fishing. Internet service always down. Called park office, was informed the state no longer pays for it and that it will need special funding for an upgrade. This has been going on for a long time. Don’t plan on using your computer for business down here or search anything on the internet.
Beautiful!! Swa a great owl call demonstration last night and old fashioned games today! Great trip!
Best place in Missouri trout fish. Came down here for a week the third week of September. Caught fish everyday, it's absolutely beautiful here. I used to rooster tail spinner bait.
This is a beautiful state park. The campground is very clean with lots of shade. Staff was very friendly. Plan on going back in the future.
This place tries to be something quaint and picturesque, but tends to fall short. It is always a bit too crowded, which is distracting. While the resort lodgings are fair enough, the general landscape beyond, is not picked up after quite as much as you would think it should be.
The fishing aspect is such an artificial construct you may as well just get your farm raised trout from the store.
While some might be excited to know that you will see deer walking about, they are practically domesticated here a fact that to the rest of us only serves as a reminder of the basically specious environment.
In the end it is to fishing as what bumper cars are to driving.
Always a relaxing and beautiful experience.
Have been coming down since the 80's. Not really caring for the new manditory reservation system. No first come first served sites any more. MDC needs to rethink these polices.
This is our annual destination for a week or more long camping trip. I was taken here when I was a kid and now my wife and I take our kids. We've turned it into a mini family reunion each year with more of each of our families relatives coming. There is a swimming spot not too far away as this IS a trout fishing park. There is canoeing, kayaking, and inner tubing down Current river close by. We will continue to go year after year until we can't.
Its an alright park, but its popularity as a casual fishing park is apparant. Absolutely packed with people everytime i've gone, and the campsites are very close together offering less of a relaxing wilderness getaway experience, and more of a commercial water park type experience as far as camping goes.
I love it. Its our home away from home. Our favorite place to camp and trout fish. Beautiful park. We always meet nice friendly campers. I recommend it.
Very nice kept state park for camping. Check in desk was not too friendly but not bad. Worst thing is Verizon cellular has NO service there or anywhere near there. For that reason alone we will not be able to return as we rely on that phone for our business. AT&T gets some signal. The fishing was pretty good. The store is nice and serves food. The highlight was our drive just outside the park to Bo’s Hollow. Look it up on google. We though it might be hookie but it wasn’t. The kids loved feeding the chickens with the dried corn they ground. Model A ride and Picnic by the creek! Then there is Happy Pappys RV resort. The pies at Happy Pappys are wonderful! 🥧 It is just outside the park as well. Lastly if you want to let the little ones play in the water Tan Vat access isn’t too far away and is good for that. Basically if we had cell service we would have given this park that extra star.
We caught 3 fish when we were there but we had lots of fun with the family....
One of my favorite places to camp, fish, and there dinning room is one of the best.
Montauk has such special memories for my family and me. The cabins are always clean and neat, the streams always clean, beautiful, and full of fish. It's a simple, wonderful place, especially in the fall!
Of the three Missouri Conservation trout parks, Montauk feels the most remote and wild. I grew up going to Roaring River and Bennett Spring. Visited Montauk for the first time earlier this year while on a trip home visiting family. I was very impressed with the quality of fishing and the beautiful scenery. Not many states do as good of job as Missouri with their state parks and conservation areas.
Just a great day of trout fishing
Awesome place take our canoe trip there every year
Love taking my grandkids here. They enjoy feeding the fish and playing at the parks.
Awesome trout fishing park
Great place to fish. The restaurant offers great food and living 3 miles outside the park, I've never met anyone that was unfriendly.
Love this place. Its changed a lot tho since we came down here in. 1977. Who remembers Bob Ross? What a hoot. I worked behind the counter for a season
One of the most beautiful places in Missouri. Great fishing, clean camping sites, and some of the friendliest staff I've ever seen at a park.
It was very hot for fishing except from 6:30am to 9:00am. Stayed in Cabins 7, 13, 14 where the Air Conditioning worked great. Cabin 7 had a kitchen. 13 and 14 did not.
A few years back they got a new fish cleaning station and since then I have been to other state parks that DON'T have cleaning stations. I still love those parks but I must say I LOVE the cleaning station at Montauk. Very nice.
Very nice campground. Beautiful river.
Beautiful. I hiked the trails. Loved the view and the nice lodge.
Family atmosphere. Excellent Trout fishing & endless waterways.Dozens of visits & still haven't covered the entire park. Bring money for the friends & family to enjoy the breakfast buffet(check days&hours)
Love visiting this State Park. The fishing is great here. The staff is always ready to serve you.
River was good, poorly stocked though, worse thing the conservation dept did was let the people have a free for all in the trout parks when covid hit!! Bennit Springs is way low on fish numbers also!
I love this place! look forward to going back! didnt get to camp or fish this time but I will for sure next year! cabins, on site restaurant and supply store!
Stayed at the park during my motorcycle camping trip. The campground was well maintained and clean. The lodge had good food and service but could probably use some updating.
Visited the naturalist office. Steve Boss was great. His presentation of a food chain was really good. Then he showed us the snakes and spiders and videos of rescuing baby bears. Really enjoyed our visit.
Beautiful views and clean cabin, plus the restaurant has great food. Gone there twice in the past 4years never disappointed.
I have been going about 10 years . Carried my wife last year she loved if so when time to book this year I said it's time to book fishing trip she said I did that last week great camping ,staff is alsome ,fishing is great
Great Park. Nice camping site's. Great fishing
Kids love our annual trip to Montauk. Don't forget some quarters so you can feed the fish at the hatchery.
The park is beautiful and very well maintained. I wish they had kept their menu from last year in the lodge. There needs to be more options to choose from.
Beautiful place... We didn't do very good fishing on this trip but it's still a wonderful place to relax and unwind.
Extremely nice and very well kept... We camped here for two day and the experience was wonderful. Great fishing and laid back environment.
Great opportunity for catching blue ribbon rainbows in the current river!
Great place to camp, however the lodge and cabin price is a bit too high for us. The kids love the fish ponds
Camped on the river for 5 days in a tent down stream for 5 days. No cell reception, no city lights, and no distractions. Caught a 16 inch rainbow around the bluffs. If you have a canoe this is the best camping you could do in all of Missouri.
Not large unless I missed something. Nice river to fish on. Can be a bit crowded. Camping available as well. The people there were friendly and helpful.
for my first experience trout fishing i was quite satisfied with my time spent i was there 7/16 through 7/19 there was plenty of fish to see and catch and anglers weren't too closely together and it wasn't to overly popolated each angler kept his distance from others overall great place to visit and fish thank you for a great experience
Ron Shaw jr from Odessa Missouri
Awesome place for trout fishing, camping, hiking and enjoying nature!
Grass doesn't get cut regularly. My poor yorkie couldn't be seen in tall grass. Firepit was not cleaned out. You would think they would want the park looking nice for holiday. Covid can not be blamed as it was like this last year as well.
A nice place to go trout fishing. By mid-March it wasn't too crowded to fish. Easy to take the kids fishing or to the playground.
Been going there for years, like 20 years and it's always a great time. It's a great place to sneak away for a quiet weekend or have a huge family reunion. Love the staff!
Beautiful. Fishing, picnicking. Cabins, camping.
Been a fan for 30 years. Very disappointed that the posted "Fly Fishing Only" rules are blatantly ignored by so many anglers. No enforcement at all. This morning I videoed 13 anglers in the fly fishing only zone, only two wear actually using legal "flies". 11 were throwing treble hook spinners, artificial lures, live worms, etc. and taking fish. sad.
Great place! Lots of water to fish. Very nice people. Very good camping, from
primitive tent camping to full hook-ups for RVs.
I love this place. I visit for a week annually and have yet to be dissatisfied. Although a park manager asked us if we were using a chainsaw while we were all eating lunch which was very strange.. must have been a boring day.
This place is great. Fishing was great. We love camping here everytime we are here.
Peaceful, beautiful and lots of stream to fish
It's just beautiful there... the restaurant however is expensive but the staff is wonderful and the park is well maintained
This place is my getaway. I'm growed up doing what the "typical stereotype" countryboy does. Life has given me the lemons of the city, cause that's where the money to survive is, so I made lemonade. Montauk State Park, is my sweet tea. Honestly, if we didn't have places like this, then my way of life would be long done forgotten, and never passed on for the future of humanity. Its literally home to me
Best trout fishing in Missouri hands down. Just spent a week tent camping and fly fishing here. Great lodge and restaurant, and the general store has everything you need.
Delicious food and great service! It was my first time eating there and my sweet man purposed to me right there in the restaurant! We will for sure be going back at least once a year on the anniversary date. 😊 …
I've been coming here since I was a kid to the showers bathrooms are always nice and clean the lodge is always fully stockedit's a great place to bring the family the kids and have a good time just to relax and I would not go anywhere
Took our kids here who were 17 and 18 they haf a fun time. Anywhere you can take grown kids and they enjoy it is a win to me. They have so many fish here it is crazy.
Beautiful scenery. Nice lodge. Clean flat campsites. Good fishing. Good picnicking. Everything outdoors you can want
Great trout fishing, nice campground with clean bathroom. One watchout -- the campground is in the floodplain next to the river, so be aware of rainy weather.
Rustic duplex cabin, ours had 2 bedrooms with full size beds. Couch, table, chairs, full sized refrigerator, stove with oven, dishes, pots and pans. Nice view of the Mill.
One of our favorite places to trout fish. The kids love it as well. They do have play ground equipment if kids tire of fishing for a bit.
Beautiful! Clean restrooms- great trout fishing comma kids love to go to the Fish Hatchery. Best time to go is in the fall to watch the trees change
Scenic, peaceful getaway. We enjoyed learning more about the history of Montauk. Great trout fishing destination. Friendly staff.
Great place, our trip this time was a family reunion. But plenty of other reasons to visit here. Cabins, tent sites, hotel and camp ground for your camper.
Love to go trout fishing there last trip was Flash flooded out as mud covered everything due to very heavy rains at the time I go twice a year to go trout fishing with men for my church the area is just beautiful quiet secluded but beautiful
My family has been coming here since I was a baby. We go every year and we will continue this tradition. Absolutely beautiful park to get away from the city for a bit!
A beautiful, well managed state park with lodge and campground.
Always a great time but needs better wifi for campground. Also need another loop or two for campers.
Beautiful clear river. Clean and shady campground, our site backed up to the river. You have to stop by the lodge for some ice cream or a shake.
It's close to home for me but there were people from all over Minnesota , St Louis , it's some of the bust fly fishing in the country each year they conservation department stocks it with a lot of trout several what they call lunkers I think that's the term...for those who like fishing give it a try !
Beautiful place for trout fishing!
Very petty there. If you go make sure you go when the mill is open to tour. They have a small spring you can visit that's just a short walk down a path, you can't get in but it's neat to see where the current river starts. There are picnic tables and also a store that had a resturant inside you could order food and drinks.
Beautiful park,good Trout fishing!!
Beautiful place to fish, camp, and get away from everything. It was very convenient to stay at the lodge. Will definitely return!
Great fishing! Friendly folks! Very clean, did I mention Great fishing? Day and a half about 100 fish caught.
Beautiful state park. Easy hiking trails. A must see if you are in Missouri. Picturesque surroundings.
Cool but not that cool. Now- we did go after a heavy rain so I'm sure it's beautiful in the spring & summers. Would be willing to go back if it was on our way
My biggest issue with Montauk is how small their store is, they carry more souvenirs then they do fishing supplies.
Very nice campground, great store with wifi, restaurant, fish tags, and souvenirs.
We have been camping in less then favorable weather. All of the staff has been excellent. The grounds and showers are very clean.
Been there 1 time we got our limit but we had fun. Its nice and shady fishing is good and they had a little place there to eat....will be going back
Montauk is such an amazing place. It will blow your mind. The park is well maintained and trout fishing is awesome.
It's a family tradition. My kids and now my grandkids enjoy the fishing and family time!! People are very friendly. Love the lodge!!
Amazing place and love going there to fish, camp, hike, and just enjoy time outdoors. Shows a few signs of wear but always a good place to get away too.
Montock state park water was nasty. No electric and no sewer sites. Fish are very hard to catch.
It's always a good time to go to Montauk state park because my grandfather built it George Barnes brings back many memories since I lived in the park
Happened to stop in at the perfect time. They were feeding the fish at the Hatchery. What a cool lesson for my daughter.
Walked all over this place. We brought the friends kids and had alot of fun. Very clean. They actually have lodging which I want to come back and check out .
Serene, peaceful, with lots to do. Great tourist spot for the summer
Only problem i have is out of staters are rude arrogant tools who think there rights are above the missouri citizens and park rangers tend to back this up. Not all but a lot of them beautiful park otherwise 100× better than federal forest land
This is our favorite park to take the kids trout fishing!
Been coming here since I was born. So relaxing and great place to get away. Love fishing down here!
Montauk is the crown jewel of Missouri trout parks. Beautiful scenery, quiet campgrounds, and good fishing.
Beautiful nature and laid-back, friendly people. Great for camping, floating and swimming if you like cold water.😊 …
Great place to camp, fish, and there are a couple good spots to swim near by. I'll be selling my cabin thats 3 miles away soon.
Great fishing... Awesome little gift shop and cabins to be rented..
Been going to Montauk for over 20 years and love it. They food at the lodge is not as good as it used to be, but the fishing is still good.
It was a great place to be it's kind of like Bennett Springs but I really liked it it would be a good place for people to go if they have
Just a really neat place to go to trout fish and walk around. My grandfather use to come here years ago as it was his favorite spots to fish.
Great fishing.... great staff.
I had a great trip
Incredible beauty spent a lot of great times fishing and picnicking there.
Wonderful place to take your family! Fishing, hiking, camping, and a fish hatchery with a museum. They have play equipment for all ages and a restaurant in the busy season.
Great place to fish, camp, and relax. Had a great time here.
This is a must go see and spend the day or WEEKEND lots to do , TAKE the family , fishing, hiking, biking , camping all kinds , it's just a real nice place 🌹🙏😴💞😎👍 …
Very beautiful park and great fishing. Made many friends here over the years.
Another gem in the MDC state parks.
Our family tries to come here every summer! It's a great place to fish and it's so easy to relax and enjoy nature!
Nice park, good siz4 lots, but some of the picnic tables could be more convenient.
Beautiful area, nice cold spring water. Great place to do some trout fishing.
I enjoy time on the water. Most folks are friendly and will engage you. Some are just there for alone time. That's cool too. Caught my limit.
Very cool area. Ruined by humans. If you have any hope of finding a place to fish you have to be out there before the sun comes up.
Beautiful park, wonderful staff, great fishing, all together a fantastic place to spend time.
Camp near here every year. Great place to fish. Nice little cafe- they have awesome cheese curds
One of the best trout parks in the state
Great fishing on Friday! Rained and flooded the rest of the weekend. Staff went above and beyond! Thank you guys so much for all your hard work!
Beautiful area.
This is my favorite trout fishing park, and the campsites are second to none. Just a beautiful place to go and enjoy the outdoors!
Stayed in a cabin 3 years in a row. Best to book exactly 12 months in advance.
Fantastic place to unwind and litterly get away from it all. Great restaurant, gift shop/parlor, and cabin/fly fishing
Absolutely beautiful place!
Montauk Pines lodging is an amazing place.
I can't wait to go back!!
The trout fishing is world class. Love the campgrounds. Try the ice from the big machine near fire wood lot, best ever.
Great place to camp. Restrooms are clean and showers are nice. Very clean. I will definitely camp here again.
If you like to trout fish, you will fall in love with Montauk! Great fishing and a beautiful campground and Lodge
This is the best place to fish, camp and spend time with loved ones.
We love to camp and fish here...one of our favorite places. 2 1/2 hour drive but worth it.
I love this state park right by the current river very very clean they try to keep it quiet at night just all-around great place to stay I believe it was $15 a night what a great price
I love Montauk Park great place to fish, great place to relax. I will continue to go to Montauk State Park another 45 years.
Nice clean place to go camping.just be sure the water pump works on your camper because they do not have water hookups at the camp sites.
Very cool place to take children
Fun destination for a motorcycle ride, but food at the lodge is marginal and prices are very high.
It's a wonderful place to get away and enjoy trout fishing! Relaxing!
Gorgeous and fabulous area. Fishing is very good, campsites are spread out and the scenery is gorgeous!
Nice place to unwind, and have a family picnic.
Easy walkways, got my limit of trout in no time
Its was I mean the weather was beautiful, the current river was clean along with some beautiful bluffs, and it located in the Ozarks in Southern Missouri.
Beautiful park, friendly people, always catch trout, my son's new favorite place to go trout fishing in Missouri
Excellent trout fishing!
So proud of our state parks. Montauk never disappoints. Beautiful, clean, committed to preserving our green spaces.
Always have loved this place. Great camping and trout fishing on the always beautiful Current River!

Great scenery, beautiful spring fed stream, and lots of Trout waiting to be caught. Definitely coming back.
My ashes will be spread here. Love it.
This place is amazing, you can find the spring that is the start of the Current river and seevtrout swimming in it everywhere
Beautiful. And fantastic fishing. Our family had a blast.
A lovely, mostly quiet park with super home cooking and outstanding ice cream.
We'll kept park setting, staff helpful and polite.
Great place. I go once to twice a month
Beautiful state park any time of year and even the newest if fisherman can catch fish all day long
Love this park, but wish they would bring back the first come first serve sites
Food is all fried at lodge. Not very good. The park is beautiful. Well maintained
Clean restrooms.
Montauk is always great. Great fishing and beautiful surroundings.
Great place easy trails 👣

Love the park, good camping place and fishing.
4 generations of my family have been visiting Montauk. It is extremely family friendly and peaceful. Recommended for anyone.
Beautiful scenery, great for fishing, but so many fish bodies floating and hooks in the water. Horrible for swimming.
Great place to take the family. Good fishing and great river!
Delightful place. Nice fishing Quiet just laid back. Just like I like it
Have been going there for years and totally enjoy it! Clean and great staff!
Great place to fly fish! Thanks to the park staff--they are professional and care about Missouri streams and trout.
Then coming here all my life. One of the greatest places in the world. If you want to have a good time with your family this is the place to go 😀 …
Been going to Montauk for many years. Relaxing and beautiful. One of my favorite places to go.
Great trout fishing, very scenic road ways
Caught lots of fish. Nice cabin & lodge. The menu has cook your catch!
Great place many generations come back over and over throughout the years. It seems to be more than about the trout fishing.
New modifications look nice, absolutely gorgeous new custom wood furniture from Sawdust & Splinters!
The scenery and water are breathtaking. Fishing is great.
trout Fishing capital of Missouri as far as I am concerned! Great campgrounds, Great store and restaurant, and awesome trout fishing!
Beautiful setting and great fishing. When the crowds get too much, head downstream on the Current River outside the Park.
The best place in MO to camp and fish for stocked rainbow trout.
Wish i could have it all to myself. We've been going to Montauk fir 25 years. A terrific family experience everytime.
Montauk was so fun! Went with my family. Had a lovely experience!
best trout fishing! beautiful park. words cannot describe the beauty of the area
There are few places in the world like Montauk.
We are fortunate it is so near by.
Never take this place or all of the people that run it for granted.
Beautiful Park, great fishing, we always have a wonderful time.
Beautiful place to have a family gathering or to go fish.
Some of the best trout fishing in the Midwest. Well worth a visit. Might retire here some day.
Beautiful park and friendly workers. Good trout.
Crate fishing in the state of Missouri I would put it as my second favorite in the state for trout
Nice cabins, less crowded, unless that was due to rain, food and beer selection good.
Nice restaurant, clean park, great paths for walks. Just a lovely area in general!

Beautiful park, great atmosphere, good fishing and comfortable camping!
Nice facility and good fishing
This is a nice area along the Current river. But it can be crowded.
