Reviews of Cuivre River State Park
Meagan ru
Wow. Just wow. The grounds are clean, sites are spacious, the bathhouse is cleaned regularly, staff is friendly, playground is perfect, views are amazing, and prices for sites are more than reasonable. We will absolutely be frequent guests.
Rosa Renner
Tackled the Blazing Star Trail at the recommendation of the fantastic woman at the Visitors Center (sorry I didn't catch her name!). The trail had everything that we were hoping. Woods, tallgrass prairie, some elevated areas and had there been water, a creek valley that the trail crossed several times. Good hiking shoes and a walking stick are a must! Will go again. The fall colors are amazing right now.
Shilpa Sanapala
We went today and did the Big Sugar Creek trail. There was barely any water in the creek but the leaves changed color already and the hike was beautiful. There were a lot of loose rocks and rugged surfaces throughout the 3.6 mile loop so would definitely need good shoes.
GHSTLY JOHNSON (GHSTLY13)
Took an overnight backpacking trip here. The lakes are nice, and trails are easy to follow and well maintained. The only part I didn’t like were the trail crossovers at the roadways. I just prefer to stay in the woods for my hike.
Elijah Lee
I hiked the Lone Spring Trail with a group of guys and had a great time. The trail starts at the Lone Wolf Trail head and takes you to a great camp site on top of a ridge 2 miles from the parking spot.
Harold Osorio
Great park, very big and well kept. You can rent kayaks, camp and much more. The water is a little dirty, but the beach is fun to swim and have fun with the family
Amanda
Such a beautiful place to enjoy locally! Grateful for the trails, parks and picnic spots. The grounds are well maintained and we always have a great time. Definitely some hidden gems to be found in the park.
Mikayla Henderson
Great park! There is a creek to hangout in, a swimming area, lots of trails for people and horses, along with camping. My favorite part is the view from the cliffs though
Chad Menard
Lots to do. Hike, camp, fish , kayak , Swim on the beach. Park is clean and campsites are nice. We enjoy kayaking on Lincoln Lake. Tip if your going to the beach, get there early for a decent parking spot.
David Steele
Camping area was great, shower / bathrooms were very clean with plenty of hot water to shower with. The camp host volunteer couple were very friendly. Park was nicely maintain, however the swim area was a little less desirable. The area designated for swimming was on the stagnant side which had quite a bit of silt and had a very musty smelling due to stagnant water.
Harvey Farkwire
2nd time there, pretty full Yet so quiet and peaceful. we had full hookups, sites are gravel, bathroom near by. open field with a great view of the moon rising. we will be repeat campers.
Alex Ray
Been coming here for years for annual weekend camping trips with a few friends and it's great. Well maintained, and the campsites are spaced apart nicely. We always reserve the same site that has a walking trail down to the lake. 4 stars because this year some junior park ranger had something to prove and hassled us about having 7 people to a campsite (which we have been doing for years and never had a problem with noise or litter - 2 of us are eagle scouts). Nonetheless we were asked to pay for a second campsite, which ended up not being a big deal but it was definitely a buzzkill. Other than that, highly recommend camping here.
Tiffini Taylor
We love Lake Lincoln! Great to kayak in but fishing not so much lol!!!
Dr Amanpreet Kaur
Very beautiful park with camping, nature views and a beautiful Lincoln lake. Big sugar creek is amazing! Must visit park!
Bryan Rupp
Excellent Missouri State Park. The visitors center is staffed with friendly folks with plenty of literature to take with you. The hours of operation are slightly shorter than I expected. The drive is gorgeous with a tree canopy over the road. Be sure to check local conditions as excessive rainfall can cause the roads to flood. Strongly recommend this park for a drive in the autumn as the colors are wonderful for Midwest broadleaf.
Denny Webb
Timeless. Still really well maintained. After growing up around this park as a kid it's really nice to see that it's still well cared for. Could use a bit of trail maintenance... But the lake is still nice and the added fishing dock is a nice touch.
Amaris Peters
Went up the to walk the Frenchman’s Bluffs trail on a sunny April afternoon, beautiful scenery with a very easy walking trail, suitable for any age. I liked how you could walk down in certain areas to interact with the actual bluffs, and climb or sit on a few of them. One could easily make it more of a challenging hike with these areas if they don’t just want to walk along above the bluffs.
Ralph C
One of the biggest state parks in Missouri and one of my favorites, great hiking and trail riding both. The views are amazing and you don't see a lot of people. Not a long drive from St. Louis and it has a lot of options for a jaunt. Make sure you take a picture of a map if you hike as cell service is not good and it's easy to get lost. The tics are bad in the summer so I won't be back until fall but enjoyed the morning there
Rob Biermann
Beautiful place to camp and hike! One of our favorite places to go in Missouri! A big variety of things to do. There is always something new to explore!
Jessica Grose
Our family has camped here a few times. We love the site size. It has full hook up. And the common area has made it easy for our kids to make friends to play with.
A Google User
Great place to hike, swim. Fishing isn't impressive. Separate area to overlook bluffs, beach swimming area at the lake. Not all spots are clearly defined where to find them but all are assets to the area. There aren't a lot of beautiful parks out this way like you would find all over the southern half of the state. So if you're nearby this should be on the agenda.
Brad Davis
This is a great campground just a short drive from St. Louis metroarea, plenty of hiking trails, shower houses are clean. There is firewood and ice available for purchase from the campground host. Small playground on site. They have a large group camping area for scout groups. The roads in the campground are paved, so its nice for kids to ride bikes and scooters. Lake Lincoln is small, but scenic, and available for fishing, canoeing and swimming.
brian buehler
Campgrounds are nice and spaced apart. Fishing area is nice and can move along the shore to different spots to reach the water. The beach area is currently being overrun by Canadian geese and their droppings, plus an excess of algae and seaweed.
Mason Childers
Love this place. There are so many trails to choose from. The only negatives are fallen trees and common, and rarely taken care of. Most time people create new paths around fallen debris. Secondly this is a place to visit fall- spring. The ticks, chiggers, and mosquitoes are horrendous during the summer.
Donna Davis
Absolutely love coming here to hike and at night, for the amazing astrophotography! All of the trails have so much to offer!
Rick Davis
Love to take my family here. Wonderful trails, picnic areas, fishing, swimming, boating and just a great place to relax and see wildlife.
Diane Sullivan
Living nearby we can drive through the park often. We like to see the views in all four seasons. My children and now grandchildren enjoy wading in Sugar Creek in the summertime. Watching for wildlife during colorful autumn and first wildflower blooms in springtime are postcard-worthy.
Dustin James
Lovely park. We did the loop around the lake trail and our pups swam and drink along the way. We will definitely be back to swim and camp and kayak.
jerome0067
Loved the walking trail and not real long, beautiful scenery, cant wait to go again!! Geat for anyone with health issues because not an extreme hike, I have a lot and feel great for about 2 miles or so with lots of shade and downed trees to rest on.
john moriarty
Surprised at how nice this state park is. So close to St. Louis . It's remote yet close to hwys. You can hear truck traffic at night. Enjoyed my stay.
Cory Favre
Amazing park! Not too far from home and plenty of things to do. We took a hike around the lake. Butterflies, turtles, birds etc. Hike around the lake is about 3.5 miles, took us a couple hours. Nothing strenuous. We will definitely be back to do it again
Derek Brown
Very nice park to maybe float in a canoe or kayak. However, the hiking "trail" around the lake is not a trail at all, but barely a path that people use to get to fishing spots. Not family friendly unless you really enjoy getting covered in ticks, as there is NO WAY to avoid foliage. I don't mind a tight spot here and there, but it is single file for almost the entirity of the 3.4 miles.
Kacey Clancy
One of the best state parks I've ever been to. Who knew it would be so close to town and residential area? It's absolutely amazing and beautiful there year round. Lots of hiking trails and campsites for anyone's favor. The only problem I have is that I have never had any fishing luck or neither has anyone else that I know of. And raccoons are sometimes an issue getting into trash or coolers so make sure to hide them or put them in your camper/tent if you'd like. But after all, we are in the raccoons habitat so it's something you just kind of have to deal with. The park has had many tours and hikes over the years for anyone wanting an interesting educational trip about the park. I've lived here my whole life and just learned more historical facts about the park recently on a group hike. I'm only 16 now and I love this place, I'm sure other kids will too if you want to bring them.
Make sure to bring your bug spray!
(All these pictures are only from one trail I went on last March. I dont take many pictures as I like to take in the moment without my phone).
David Wilson
A well maintained gem just outside of Troy Mo. Great easy to moderately difficult hiking trails.
Michael Frodyma
Great trail, with some sections probably being a bit more closed in during the warmer months when the weeds and bushes have filled in. We managed the lower loop before lunch time, and enjoyed the huge bluebell covering through many sections of the trail. With a number of trails, both short and long, this park is a pret destination right outside STL.
sadanand kitture
Great place for relaxing, picnicking, swimming, boating....beach is closed because of covid 19..but you still can bring your own boat..do some short hikes...relax at the creek..
Emily Bull
We love our state park! With the trails, creeks, swimming, fishing, kayaking and camping... There is something for the entire family. Quivre River State Park is large enough to get lost in all weekend and only a few miles from convenient shopping. Cuivre River is a hometown favorite. Come see for yourself.
Jeffrey Lowe
Even though it was rainy, I had a good time camping with my dad, my brother, and my dog! The camp site was flat and had good drainage! The water spigot was within a few yards of the site and the area was clean and free of pests/poison ivy.
Kathryn Henke
Campgrounds and sites are clean, everyone is friendly and helpful. The sites are gravel and grass but we had a dry trip so I can't speak for what they are like when it's rainy. Plenty of space length and width wise. We were able to fit our 33 ft travel trailer, a vehicle in front of it and another vehicle to the side (in front of the picnic table) with no problem. We didn't go but there is a swimming beach, fishing, and kayak rental as well as many hiking trails.
Sarah Skaggs
Wednesday and Thursday were great, despite the heat. But when the weekend started, the campground was too crowded. And still too hot. I left Saturday night because I couldn't take one day of heat, as I'm extremely sensitive to it. Also was worried about dogs and their health. So, other than that, I got my relaxation in and my major dose of nature. 😊
Therese Cooper
Penny, my sissy, booked 2 night. We had so much we stayed another night. Froze our butts the first two nights and last night was wonderful.
John Hanson
Camped here first weekend of August 2017. I have a 23 foot travel trailer and was in site 94 in the full hookup area.
First, the site was quite level, and required only minimum work with the tongue jack to level my trailer adequately. The electric, water and sewer hookups were close enough to reach easily without having to use extensions. The sewer outlet on the full hookup sites is a little high off the ground, making it difficult to drain adequately. Bring a sewer hose support system, or leave your tank valves closed until it's time to dump, so you can "help" the hose drain by lifting it.
Lake Lincoln is absolutely gorgeous. I kayaked on the lake, which is approximately 70 acres, and had a wonderful time. I had my own kayak, but if you would like, you can rent kayaks or canoes at the park office. There is also a well kept swimming beach at one end of the lake, with restrooms available. If you have time, check out the hiking trail around the lake, but be warned that it is somewhat rugged in places, but certainly not a technically challenging trail for a capable beginner.
The full hookup sites are in a separate area of the park, and the sites are somewhat less private than the other areas. If you are a solitary type looking to get away for some peace and quiet, try to stay in the basic or electric only campsites. These are more secluded in general, and have more shade in most cases.
Julie Cunningham
I grew up in Troy so Cuivre River always brings back fond memories. The park was much more carefree the mid-late 70's but it's still a great place for any family gathering. Stone pavilion is a favorite of mine as well as a lot of others.
Brian Beck
Beautiful campground. Well maintained, clean and quiet. We loved our weekend here.
Gail Rogers
The trails are well marked and groomed ,will put it on my list the map could use a few marks for identification. But a lot of work has been done to camp site and trails.
D John
First time there to use the horse trails for day use. Rode the trail which runs along the top of a bluff. Had some distance views of the valley from along the trail. It was enjoyable. Had an above average crowd of riders. Some stayed the night at the horse camp which allows tying the horses. No covered stalls are offered. Not too far if you live in st louis area.
Paul
Beautiful park, super big, tons of trails. Plus a swimming lake! Five stars. PS. Get a park map so you can check out all the trails! (this picture was taken at Frenchmans Bluff)
Scott Showalter
Very nice facilities. We spent a couple of hours kayaking and fishing. The fish weren't biting, but we enjoyed the peace and quiet.
kevin smith
Very Nice & Quite place to stay. Little upset you Cannot bring your own Firewood and what they sell is not very good. But all & all we had fun and enjoyed ourselves.
Joshua Salley
Beautiful state park, a little muddy, but all and all a great day to be outside and enjoy nature in God's presence.
Derek Voges
Hiking path is fun, campground is clean, had a ton of fun! Could use some more sineage to help navigate the roads.
Raymond Smith
Stayed one night on a basic site. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Site was clean with a table and fire pit. Fishing within walking distance, beach was just a few minute drive.
Amy Martin
Great staff, beautiful park and some of the kindest rangers around! They even stopped and had wonderful interactions with our children!!
Robert Grubbs
Shower's are free witch is nice and bathrooms are cleaned twice a day . On top of that it's a beautiful place to visit with friendly staff🙂. Help to create more natural habitat so everyone can in joy it . I had to travel 5 hrs to get somewhere natural . …
Nina Turner-Robison
This state park is our new favorite! The trees weren't in full fall color but the mix of the trees that had changed with the greenness was really beautiful! We hiked the Mossy Hill, Lakeside, and Blazing Star trails. All were beautiful and not difficult! We wanted to get to the Old School House trail, but ran out of time. The trails were pretty well marked. The park staff were all friendly. The grounds were clean and mowed. We did not use their showers so I can't comment on them.
The campsites on our side had plenty of room on each side although some of the sites behind us were a bit tight. The sites were numbered, but it was a little confusing. The location of the number was placed in a manner that they could have been for the site on either side. When we arrived another camper was setting up on our site. Dog friendly.
The sites were pretty level. Be sure to have a long sewer hose due to the location of that hook up.
We will definitely go back and more frequently!
stephanie paasch
Love this place so much that we built a home close by!
They have great programs for kids in the state park. You should stop by the ranger station and learn all about everything they offer.
They even opened a little store in the campground. And at Halloween time they have a campground trick or treat day!!! Its our favorite place to trick or treat!
The walking trail around the lake is super beautiful. The dock on the lake is fun to fish on. Did you know there is more than 1 lake in this park? Ask the conservationists!!!
Dana Randall
The Lakeside Shelter. Spacious and inexpensive venue for a gathering. Be prepared to treat venues with your own pest control.
Tammie
Love the trails. Short and long ones to choose from. Bicycle, horse and dogs welcome. Very beautiful!
Brian Benner
If was nice a quiet camping. Great scenic trails, and beach. Unfortunately the camp sites around me the grass was at least 1.5 ft tall and the burn pit was in the lowest spot on the terrain so it was full of water.
Tony B
Best park around. Trails, creeks, lakes, kayak and canoe rentals, and camping. So fun!
Jacob Hendrickson
This park has a lot of very good trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The majority of the trails are tough enough to be a little challenging, and they go through very pretty areas. It's well maintained, but ticks are a large problem in Missouri, this being no exception.
Aaron Barbee (A-A-Ron)
Been here many times for races, but this visit was for a 7 mile hike with the family. Lots of walking and hiking options. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. Didn’t see any port-a-potty’s so you’ve been warned. ;)
lacrossed55
We enjoy this park, just have your tick repellent! Firewood $5 a (small) bundle. There is a micro store (toothpaste band aids) at the check in hut.
Kellie Azar
Love taking the kids to the creek here! I love to camp, creek, and enjoy what mother nature has gave us!
Terry Hammond
Great place to camp. It's always clean and quiet. The camp hosts are always very friendly.
Laura Webb
Beautiful nature calm great lake and beach area great place for families to relax and enjoy the outdoors
Aaron Roberts
Great park for hiking, barbecues, swimming, etc. Several long trails through the woods.
BIG A
Tree need trimmed bad to get a camper in and out and around the campground please beware . Otherwise beautiful park and nice hosts.
Paul Hunt
Lake Lincoln is long pleasant walk around the shoreline. Fishing is interesting, because no one catches any fish.
The swimming beach is creepy. Requirements for swimming here 1. Overweight 2. Under dressed 3. Tattoos
A number of the hiking trails are pleasant and you seldom meet other hikers. Following a good rain you can canoe Sugar Creek successfully from Hwy K. No one floats this regularly, so expect to encounter tree falls. The picnic area at Hwy 147 is an easy put out location. The put in at Hwy K is equally easy. It is an unchallenging, but pretty float through the glacial hills making this park geologically unique.
Be warned that the two main north-south roads through the park are gated daily at dusk. It was a lot more pleasant when they allowed free drive through.
James Hoffman
It was a very nice and clean park. The camping area was great.
Robyn Christopher
We enjoy the creek, go to find crawfish, tadpoles and frogs. We found a HUGE tadpole, maybe growing up to be a Bullfrog? Ofcourse we left the park as we found it and released all the little guys from the bucket too. Remember to pick up your trash and keep the park clean!
laura niere
The campsites looked great, and the views up above looking down where awesome. Swimming area could have been better, but there were people swimming there.
Calissa
This park has a little bit of everything. Event areas with restrooms. Swiming, kayaking, fishing, trails, nice hiking steps, horse, RV, tent camping, boat docks.
Camping: Book online in advance. They have water views and platforms even. My first time seeing such a thing. My favorote lots were 47-49 if you are pitching a tent wanting a view and platfom, one is handicap accesable.
Kayaking; You can start at the swimming area and have someone wait for you at the boat dock. Takes about 20 min.
They have a site campimg with your horses and trailor.
Whitney Lane
Love this park! Great trails for hiking or trail running.
Scotto Smith
MO has State parks down!! This place is very nice and scenic. Really nice host and hostess. Thanks for the help Bill!

There's plenty to do at Cuivre River SP. Well cared for facilities are matched with beautiful natural resources like the lake, forests, and river, to make this a perfect place to enjoy a summer weekend.
keith cooper
A beautiful clean place for camping or swimming..friendly
people at the office.
Rosa Lopez
We love coming here and camping at the equestrian camp ground. We love the trails and all the new people we meet. Our horses get some exercise and we get to see wildlife
Craig Servin
It was very nice and peaceful, just further off of the road than I expected.
Robert Spencer
Camp there in a 36 ft travel trailer. Roads are very narrow and windy. I wish they had posted how steep the roads are. And once you're on one you're not getting out. GPS will always send you the wrong way don't rely on it. Contact the visitor center before entering for your own good if you're camping in an RV. The park itself was very pretty.
Kirk Augustine
I ran a 50k here. It was transformative. There are a lot of bluff views and river views and various other single track goodness trails here.
Neno C
Campsite is well maintened. Very long drive from entrance to the campsite through narrow winding road - over 10 min. Do not use beach. Muddy, dirty and full of goose poop.
Jon McColgan
Overall really good. I'm not that fancy of a person, but the bathrooms/showers at the Campground are in pretty rough shape. Clean enough, but very well used is putting it gently. Otherwise, the campground host was very friendly and the campsites themselves were spacious and not very close together.
Guy Hoffman
we had a very nice time the only issue was our neighbor did not respect quiet hours
Zach Hampshire
I really wanted to like this place. Photos and info on the website make it look great. This isn't really the case. Campsites are all booked up online and a phone call confirmed they were busy. Made a trip just to check things out. The campground was a ghost town despite signs claiming "no vacancy", boat rental and the beach were both closed and the trail around the lake was narrow and overgrown. There's lots of potential with nice views and a big lake. This place needs some work though and the website really needs updating.
Janice “Angeltears” Gunter
One of the best parks in missouri.. well kept but the trails are not paved and if you're not a hiker they would be difficult.
Steffen Hogan
I love this place. From the camping amenities, the creek, the lake and even able to rent a canoe.
Veronica Winston
A really nice place camp swim fishing loading you name it you got it hiking
Julia Vogel
Campsites are a bit small but the view of the stars and the park itself are amazing. Can bring your own kayaks and horses which is great. A few good hiking trails as well just bring bug spray.
Mommy Pickett
Haven't been in15 years and am so glad we came .platform tents are awesome and inexpensive will be coming back soon very happy
Steve Cooper
Nice place with a beach for the kids. Has canoe or kayaks spots. Wasn't trashy. Law enforcement keeps it in check.
Jessica Green
Held a large gathering in the social use area. Lots os space for our Cub Scout Pack. The stairs leading down to the lake made for easier access to the lake trail. Nice that staff was on hand, even on Sunday.
Barbara McKay
The new beach is very nice with sidewalks all around and plenty of new sand for building up and digging down. The area has been regraded so runoff will flow around the beach rather than through it.
I do hope they plan to push sand out into the water that is currently muddy and slimy. That part was not fun for the little ones.
It would also be nice to have a kayak launching spot next to the beach. We hope that is in the plans for the next phase.
G P
A fun little campground, super friendly staff, small lake for swimming or kayaking
Clinton Eppler
Great park. Stayed at one of the family tent sites. The park facilities were clean. Check-in and out was easy.
Carol Moeller
Great park for hiking with family and playing in the creek
Sabrina R
It's a beautiful park with so many options for outdoor activities. The hiking trails are great with several different lengths to choose from. You can camp, ride your horse or bike, kayak and fish. There are play grounds for the kids.
We hiked two trails and had fun. They were well marked and maintained. We did get a little lost driving around looking for trails, but the park is huge!
A very family friendly park, highly recommend!
Chris Cochran
We love trail running around the lake, very challenging . We also run in the Quivering Quads race there.
Chad Force
Very nice park, secluded from the noise of the highway and city, beautiful drive in with HUGE hills. Due to weather we didn't get to hike but I'm sure based on the terrain it has some awesome trails.
greg potthoff
Great place to go check out the bluff and stop by Cassells stor off old 61 kk has a lot of artifacts
Goga
Wonderful park! It is huge and split into a few areas: picnic, camping, boat... There is a big lake with trim all around it, half of it is through the forest. You have a picnic area with bbq table and benches with a view on the lake and in the forest so you have shadows in hot summer day. Restrooms are near. Also, there is a camping area in the forest with electricity, shower, fresh water, you need to pay some little for it. We spend a great day!
Athena Bettorf
My Charity uses this park at least once a year for a weekend stay. Not only is this park beautiful, but the Park Rangers and the Superintendent are amazing to work with! We always have a great time and it is so nice knowing the Rangers have our backs if we need them.
Theo Brown
The Lake is filled with moss and warm like bath water. So not idea for swimming. They rent canoes and kayaks for a reasonable price. There is a creek right outside the park that has cristal clear water. The trails are fun bit a little over grown. All an all a great spot for camping.
Alex Long
Save this place! There isn't many places close to St. Louis where you can see a native habitat so unspoiled.
I saw a Bradford Pear sapling near a campsite(possibly from someone's RV?) and very little Honeysuckle.
We need to keep the invasive species down or it will only be a matter of time before this place succombs to being choked out by invasive Bradford Pear and Honeysuckle.
Len Meier
We walked around the prairie near the campground. Fascinating diversity of plants. Can wait to return in summer when more flowers are in bloom. It is a beautiful park.
Sharhonda Jackson
Loved it. Took the grandkids for a picnic and to swim. We were there for 5 hrs. My only complaint was the ticks my husband found on the chair cover when he packed up to leave. To be fair, there is a tick advisory on the website so they did warn us.
Lynn Rinker
The trails here aren't always marked well, but it's an amazing park. The park is HUGE and there is something for everyone. I wish they'd clear the brush on the trails better. The lake trail is pretty flat, but if you're feeling froggy - just head up any of the sets of stairs to add to your workout! The park staff are helpful and guest oriented.

Our first time at Cuivre River State Park Campgrounds was memorable! We have a travel trailer and stayed at site 100 (electric/water/sewer), which was an end site with wooded area on two sides of us. Campgrounds close to non-registered campers from 10pm-6am with a locked gate, accessible by key-pad to campers.
The park is adequately maintained; not as clean/tidy as other SP we have stayed at. Quiet, family and pet friendly. Minimal traffic on roads through camp sites. Walkers, bikers, kids, etc. could enjoy without much worry. There are 13 hiking trails, with two of those accessible right from the full hook-up loop and just steps from site 100. Miles and miles to enjoy!
Campground had kayak/canoe/paddle board rentals available at the check-in station/small general store, which was a short bike ride from site 100. Beach front on lake for seasonal swimming. Fishing areas on other areas is the lake, but not allowed at beach front.
Visitor Center/Park Office had a nice exhibit room that highlighted the history of the SP and how the CCC was responsible for its' creation.
Four negatives: 1) No shower-house in full hook-up loop; just restrooms. 2) Grill rack on fire pit was broken. 3) Many large downed trees on Lone Spring Trail required us to stray from trail to maneuver around. 4) Very narrow, windy road within SP with no shoulder.
Thank you Missouri State Parks for another lovely weekend!
Chris
Had another fun camping event at a beautiful state park.
Jeff Mcbride
Such a beautiful park with many activities to choose from! Several well maintained hiking trails, with lengths starting at just under .2 miles. Camping sites, tent to R.V. A swimming area for the entire family, complete with a sandy beach. Great fishing and you can also rent canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. And so much more!
xpektamiracle
Beautiful, well kept park. Lake Lincoln is perfect for fishing, kayaking, and swimming. Trails for hiking, a boat launch area, pristine campgrounds with tents for rent. Just an all round Great place for family and pets.
David West
My wife and I went on the Big Creek loop yesterday. The scenery is nice and it is a relatively easy. However, as stated in the other review we got home and were picking ticks off one another for 2 hours. There were the small seed ticks and the bigger ones. They were even on our hair and scalp.
Conner LaLonde
Lovely park not too far away from Saint Louis, but far enough to be "out there." It's a beautiful park. The campgrounds are neat and the facilities kept clean and stocked. Plenty to do. Rent kayaks and canoes, hike the lakeside trail, or visit the picnic areas. Group and equestrian camping available. A great go to for a quick weekend away.
Charlie Spezia
Rode with my daughter to drop my grandson off at his 5th grade camping trip. The school reserved the Sherwood Forest camp grounds and it looked to be very well set up. The buildings were very rustic but we'll maintained. The cabins were grouped into little "villages". There was also an athletic field central to the cabins where the teachers and teen counselors could set up games and contests for the campers. Finally, I was very impressed with the overall condition of the facilities.
Devin Graver
My friends and I had a great time renting some paddle boats. The park is pretty large, but everything is labeled really well. They just laid down new roads in the park also. It's a smooth ride if you just want to coast a little in a sunday!
john nichols
Great State Park for camping with family, awesome hiking trails, and fishing; everyone is so friendly.
Gordon Beachy
A very pleasant surprise near our new home in Troy! Just a few miles from home we can escape to a wooded mountain oasis. There's a lake, a clear stream, miles and miles of trails, rustic buildings, campgrounds... I had no idea this was all back here! We will be coming back a lot, I expect.
Bruce Brunner
Clean and well maintained state park facilities. Main trail around the lake is closed near the swimming area. check trail conditions before you hike.
Jessica Davis
Great place to play. Only better if there had been a bathroom
Jennifer Murphy
Beautiful park. But we won't be returning to the beach area during the weekend or probably any time soon. People clearly do not follow the no alcohol rule. The beach was packed with a quite interesting crowd. With a few people passed out in random walkways and paths by the lake. Also, EVERYONE smokes cigarettes. So the sand is full of cigarette butts and trash. We decided to leave and drove down the road a little bit to find a good fishing spot. Thankfully we did. We will be back next weekend EARLY to rent a kayak and check out the lake. But not the beach.
Andrea Kidd
Love this beautiful spot right here o just could not get any cell service or use my husband's hot spot for very long 🤨 …
Horace Jones
My family and I found a great fishing spot
Jeannie Poe
Visited for a family get-together! The area was well maintained and not overly domesticated. Lots of nature at its finest. A note if you're planning a party, some spots have no electrical outlets. That was no problem for us at all. Parking was ample and we had a great time. Bring your own trash bags as there wasn't trash bins available. We'll definitely visit again!
Brittany Nienhaus
We love to stay at Cuivre River. Everything is absolutely perfect about this place. My husband and our 3 little boys like to stay in the platform tents. Works great for us. This year we showed up and there are different much smaller platform tents on the site. Luckily pir brother was with us and let 2 of the boys invade his tent or we would have not had enough room. But all in all.. we love this place
Bill Brent
Great park to visit all year round but especially during the fall when the leaves are changing colors. I also recommend an early morning or late evening drive through to see much of the wildlife, especially deer, that the park has to offer.
Mahleeyah A
The campground sites are spaced more than the 6ft social distancing recommendation. However, the beach area is not. On weekends, one has to carve a path among bodies, floaties, coolers etc.
The hike around the lake , like the other local guide says, it's single file and tick 'haven.' Douse yourself with insect/tick spray before hiking.
Kyle Huff
Great place to play in the river on hot summer days, wide variety of wild life. Lots of good hiking trails and nice camping accomadations. Kayak, canoe and paddle board rentals are cheap and they have plenty to go around. Beach area isn't the nicest, but for a small lake it's not terrible
SisterSmiley Vibes
PSA: Please stay away from ALL parks if you don't Respect Nature or if you litter. Any trash you take in, TAKE BACK OUT and more! Don't flick your cigarette butts, dispose of them properly! Amazing park, let's keep it that way!
ian bone
Frenchman's bluff has some really nice hiking trails of various lengths, my only complaint about the area is that it is not signed very well. Once you get to the trailhead everything is great, but getting to the area signage is definitely lacking.
Keith
Quiet, clean and just a great place to spend outside, highly recommend
Bryson McHardy
This is a natural wonder. Over 6000 acres of upland woods praries valleys and bluffs. 35 miles of hiking biking or equestrian trails. A small fishing and swimming lake as well as nice campgrounds.
Lisa Merz
We love coming here to swim, fish, catch crawdads and minnows, and enjoy the nice cool water of the creek. My oldest son likes to kayak in the river and fish. As a family we also enjoy hiking the trails, which are beautiful. One of our favorite places to visit.
Carol Binko
Nice place to go camping 👍 The grass cutters were blocking the access to the handicapp parking. My husband is handcapped. We had to walk up and down the hill, not happy. They were parked there for over 2 hours. We were going fishing. …
Paul Furrer
At over 6400 acres Cuivre River State Park is one of Missouri's largest parks, and it's got something for anyone who loves the outdoors. We didn't explore the entire park, but what we did see was awesome! Sugar Creek provided a chance for my dog, Lacey to cool off in crystal clear water, and then we drove up Cheatham Road (which runs alongside part of the Cuivre River Trail) where we were treated to spectacular views of the Cuivre River valley.
We didn't get a chance to check out Lincoln Lake, but I understand it offers opportunities for boating, swimming, and fishing.
Both modern and primitive campsites are available at the park.
The park has 14 trails, which range in length from 1/3 of a mile to 7 1/4 miles, there's also an equestrian area, which has it's own separate campground.
We thoroughly enjoyed our morning at Cuivre River State Park, and plan to return with our camping trailer when we can spend a few days exploring!
Ignacio Gonzalez
This place is the spot. This is the place were you want to go for camping. The beauty that is presumed by mother nature is astonishing. Their is a place in their called Sher wood forest. If you go to that camp their is a kitchen, baseball field, cabins, and working showers. Their is four mane villages that have like 6 cabins. Each one can hold 8 people in beds.
lindsey kidd
I love Cuivre River State Park only thing is is in the camping part you could widen the doors on the female bathroom automatic door openers for disabled people. Just from one disabled person using the bathroom showers
Andrew Hornung
Camping here was great and not too expensive! Renting a single site for the day was $13 if I remember right and renting a canoe for two hours was $10. Overall, the site was nice and the hiking was good too.
Just watch out for raccoons at night! When our fire died down, the raccoons became a lot more brave.
Doug Bullock
Lovely place for taking your camper even in November. All amenities even after water turned off for the season. Lesson learned--make sure your propane tank is full on those chilly fall nights LOL
P Simon
Great Park, friendly host, wood and ice at the check in. Shower house is a little dirty.
Paul Catterton
Great place to "get away from it all". Our church group holds its annual bible camp at CRSP; the kids love it and the adults enjoy working together. Facility includes a lake, primitive and RV campgrounds, walking trails and much more. Highly recommended.
Michael Austin
We had a good hike, and hang.
Courtney Hollis
Gorgeous! Worth the long drive, even for a couple hours!
Ashinada 2204
Cuivre River is an absolute blast! There are many nature trails with beautiful views, plentiful activities hosted by the park staff, and individual lots for camping. There are stairs that lead down to the lake, where it's always nice and quiet. You can even pay to kayak or boat on the lake!
Cody James Wilson
Good place for a weekend camping trip. I used to come here with my Mom & Dad all the time as a kid and continued with my Fiancé and I frequently stopping by. The campgrounds are pretty well taken care of. The lake is good for fishing and swimming. All of the trails are well beaten and traveled and the workers around there are great.
Jenn Grubbs
Lots of hiking trails. Bathrooms are cleaned twice a day. Swimming at the beach was enjoyed by the whole family. We saw wildlife; deer, racoons, rabbits, tortoise, woodpecker and lots of cardinal and blue jay. Tons of birds. Watch for ticks. Some are really tiny. Racoons will look for food at night, pack the food away well.
Lew Hughes
At the swimming beach entrance, there was a printed notice warning of bacterial contamination of the water and advising people to NOT swim in the water ... but, the beach area was open and people were swimming in it .....
Andy A
Fun park; it has a nice big lake with a swimming beach, you can rent canoes, walk some cool little hiking trails, and the campground is nice. All in all, one of the better state parks I've been to - though at times the lake/beach area seems to get pretty crowded with rowdy kids and school groups, etc.
Wendy Jacobs
We love to RV camp here. The park is always clean, its family friendly, other campers are courteous and respectful. Theres a lake that's great for kayaking and swimming, we like to walk the trails and its affordable.
Elizabeth Robertson
We enjoyed the hike and the lady at the visitor center was very helpful.
Jeanie Loyd
Great place for the family. The beach was nice and clean. They have a policy against alcohol beyond the parking lot, ....so don't pack any in your coolers. They have rangers that come through and check them. We didn't rent canoes or kayaks, but there's a nearby place that has them. The only setback is that it's a maze to find it. There isn't much signage from the highway, and they have entrances closed down. We were able to find it by taking chances down roads. You can bring noodles and rafts. The crowd wasnt rowdy at all. I'll definitely be going back.
ExtremeDolphin
Had a great time at the campground with my boys.
Chelle Conway
Spent a couple hours kayaking Lincoln Lake. The boat ramp is adequate. Outhouse restroom is clean and separate changing room is available. Beach is nice. Appears to be stocked up with fish.
Lynda Edwards
Clean, accessible, naturally maintained. Great family fun. Creek is a very good place for family water fun. Deep enough is spots for little kids to "swim." Nice rock beach.
Danielle Aldridge
Its a pretty park. We came here for the lake. We rented kayaks here for 25 dollars for the whole day. The kayaks were a little beat up and old, compared to the kayaks at creve couer park which has the same price points. The beach area where people swim is kinda gross, but when you get out on the water and go far out the water is clear and beautiful. The people at the camp site the day we went were friendly and helpful.
Caley Johnson
Beautiful location. We got up early and rented a canoe, we were the first people on the lake! It was absolutely gorgeous. The workers were very friendly and the prices were very reasonable! I could not get my fire going and the worker came and helped me! The only thing I did not like is that you have to buy the fire wood there, you can not get it from downed trees.
Joey Martin
Love this park. Always an adventure
Laura Lenau
I liked that the park was clean and organized. There were specific places for RVs, tents, etc; and these areas were color-coded (see signage), which was helpful. It has an overall family friendly environment. What I didn't like was that we greatly needed help (around 2pm), but the office was locked and a sign merely read "be back later." We didn't know how long to wait because there was no indication of when the sign was first posted. We weren't able to get the help we needed, because no one ever showed up and we had to leave due to a storm.
Patty Desrosiers
My grandkids had a great time. They went fishing for the first time it was so nice and clean. My friend taught them how to fish, they fished off the platform.
Shelia Griffin
The people who take care of this place must love their jobs! We were evacuated due to local flooding and they welcomed us at once. Beautiful trails, clean restrooms, laundry room and wondrous landscapes. We thank you so much . We stayed at sp 99
Allissa Percifield
This park has great trails that are well maintained and well marked with blazes in specific colors for each trail. You can find very easy short ones up to more challenging longer ones with a variety of terrain. A favorite place to view spring wildflowers.
Tamara Mazzoccoli
Easy hike around the lake. There are washed out spots so be careful. Beautiful views. Ended up being 3.6 miles.
Ray Mayginnes
Peaceful. Lots of trees. 2 campground areas. One has more trees and more space between sites. Some with electric but most without. Other is flatter, fewer trees and campers closer together but has sewer, water, and electricity.
Jody Ledlow
Awesome state park. They have good fishing spots. They have a beach with no animals accepted. The lake they have is a very good size. Great place for backpackers. Have horse trails to.
Jason Lumetta
A very nice and clean State Park with a good size lake with a designated beach for swimming. The rest of the very large lake is for canoe, kayak and boat with electrical motor only.
The handicap accessible dock for fishing is extremely big. Boat ramp is next to it. Two spot handicap parking next to the dock.
The Park has many little spots for day use with benches. The camping area is clean. We enjoyed the electrical site 14 but be warn of racoons.
The only issue is the racoons. Numerous fellow campers were troubled with racoons. You can purchase wood where you check in with a few extras.
All in all, we will be back. A nice state park, just be prepared for the racoons.
Nicole Nowell
We love going to Lincoln Lake to fish. Amazing park overall. Also an awesome place to kayak/canoe or hike.
Sarah Nelson
We came for a little family get away. We did some trails, played in the creek, and went to the beach area. We all had fun. Definately will be on the list to come back to. Also stopped at the visitors center. Everyone that was in there was very friendly and was able to help us!!
Avishai Barukh Kadosh Ze'ev
Since I was a child I have visited over the years, it's always a beautiful place to visit although it would be greatly improved if access to the actual River could be acquired. I will admit that it has beautiful views overlooking the river but being I am a Mississippi River Folk I find it quite I'll let down to look at a river and not just stand on it's banks.
Heather McClinton
This was a lovely state Park! The bunkhouse were older but clean and the beds were comfortable. Each cabin has multiple beds in open dorm style, but it also has a captain's quarters with its own entrance! The chow hall was large and clean and the kitchen was fantastic!
Alan Carter
Very beautiful state park, you can run, bike, swim, fish, hike camp over nite, rent kayaks. There is a descent beach to layout on. Really one of the nicest places just about 50 miles outside St.Louis.
Teresa Brackman
Love this park however the last few years maintenance on the trails has been lacking. All I've been on except the lakeside trail have been overgrown.
Justin Lucy
The park, the trails and the water are beautiful. We camp here multiple times per year. Unfortunately, other campers at times are not as respectful. The weekend nature programs for kids are a plus.
Michael Sosnow
My dogs love the trails and so do we!
John Linderman
Very pretty trails and varied topography. I took the north loop of the sugar creek trail which could have been marked just a little better - in other words although the trail was marked with orange squares on the trees the marks were often spread pretty far apart. As a result I did get lost at one point and found myself off the trail and eventually backtracking when I found it again. I ended up spending way more time than planned and was out past dark. Luckily I had my alltrails phone app for direction so could make my way out of the woods.
Jesse Langham
We took a mile hike down to a river bed. It wasn't to bad
Troy Turnipseed
Quiet, peaceful area.. very smooth, calm water.
Rebecca Klippel
Did two hikes in the park, one by are camp site, and very well maintained trail's. Best camp site, full hookups.
Heather Johnson
Creek adventure! Awesome!
Not the best lake for fishing. Good trails. Decent camp grounds.
Mark W.
This park is a Missouri Department of Natural Resources Park. So different rules and regulation apply here versus your Missouri Department conservation Parks or city park just be aware. Great place to spend the summer you can rent canoes paddle boats you can go swimming fishing great Hiking Trails camping what I call Lincoln County Missouri Hidden Gem
Rebekah Chamberlin
Decent park for Missouri. Trails are just through the woods or around the lake. Lake Lincoln offers a small beach and swimming area. You can rent canoes or kayaks. The lake also has a boat ramp for low hp boats or nonpowered boats. It also has a recently new dock for fishing but the fishing isn't very good in this lake. Watch out for snakes in the area and pesky ticks and insects. The campground usually has plenty of open spaces
Elliott Smith
Well kept, very quiet, really liked the closed gate from 10PM to 6AM with pass code. Would give it a 5 if camp sites had a little more shade, but really wouldn't matter except in the middle of summer.
Joe O'Mara
Cuivre River offers horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, a lake swimming beach, boat ramp, camping, and more! You can enjoy the sunset at Frenchman's Bluff or hike one of the many trails around the park! Great place to visit for the day or a weekend!
John Harris
30 amp section is tree's and shade. 50 amp section is wide open, very sparse trees or shade. Beach is nice area to go to.
Bryan Jones
Nice place to pull off and have a picnic
Great hiking trails and a few of them allow overnight primitive camping. Lake is pretty neat with a beach and boat launch.
Emily Crank
This is my favorite state park near St Louis. There are many miles of interconnected hiking trails and backpacking is allowed on many of them. It's not a far drive at all and feels more like southern Missouri with great bluffs and rocky creeks.
Katie Kelly
Great beach for a small child to play in the sand. Alcohol is not allowed on the beach so that's no fun. Too many people chain-smoking cigarettes on the beach and in the water. Found cigarette butts all over the sand. Maybe cigarettes should be banned on the beach as well.
Isaiah Maxi
Neat hike, had a mixture of level of trails! Great hiking spots!
Shelley Woelfel
Cuivre River State park has many amenities that you can enjoy with the whole family without traveling far from home. They have a campground, a lake for swimming & fishing, far enough out to feel away from it all, yet close enough to not spend a lot on gas.
Sachitanand Bhardwaj
Nice place for swimming, kayaking and fishing with your family and loved ones.
Nancy Chasteen (Lacey)
Beautiful hidden picnic areas, camping, fishing, canoe, and kayak rentals. Lake Roosevelt, Big Sugar Creek, Frenchman's Bluff, scores of trails. Wonderful park!
Matthew Patterson
Very nice park besides me being pulled over by a park ranger for a minor violation. If you bought a new car and the dealer didn’t give you a front temp tag I recommend you not go to the state park. Officer was very professional atleast.
Pete Nowikow
It's a nice place to visit and cool of on a hot day. The park maintenance needs a little boost. Rest rooms are less than desirable so use the facilities elsewhere before you arrive.
Chantal Hite
Cuivre River is so beautiful. There are tons of trails for hiking, horseback riding, biking and exploring. There's also camping and playgrounds. It's a great place to spend the day or a few days.
Caitlin Pittman
Amazing views. Hard and easy trails. Many trails surround the lake but are not kid friendly unless they are very coordinated. A must see for the adventurous type!
Eric Telmer
They spread you out, away from others at the well maintained camp sites. Nice hiking trails. Unfortunately the fish were practicing social distancing!
Joshua Fink
Topography makes every hike an adventure. The staff are smart and really into public education about conservation. Book early if you want to camp!!
D.J. LaRue
Great place , easy to navigate. Awesome trails, Frenchman's bluff and Lincoln Lake being the highlights . Highly recommended.
Mary Ellen Riley
Ok park. Needs better and more signs. The main roads were all gated off so we drove 30 miles just to turn around. I wish they had a sign at the entrance that said it was gated. I am assuming because they reached capacity due to Covid. I will not be back.
Salty Jellybeans
I LOVE this state park! Go there every chance I get. When someone's dogs get loose - which unfortunately happens every and anywhere, it's strange that it would be put on here as the park's issue - which could never be! Animals will get loose now and then and are inclined to attack once they feel vulnerable.
People, if you must travel with your pets, just take better care to be sure they are tethered properly and be sure to bring a muzzle just in case. My husband received a small wound from a rat - dog bite right around the same time this last person was there. We made a report with the Park Ranger at the time just in case it became infected. It never did so.... we being decent people let it go!
We aren't sue happy, just so happy ;-)
Thanks
Jeff Frost
Clean campground, clean bathrooms and showers. Campground seems quiet during the day despite being fairly full for June. I think most people were out enjoying the hiking and biking trails or swimming at the lake's beach.
Rick LaFaver
One of the better parks in Missouri for relaxing and light duty hiking. The lake hike is one of the best in Missouri. The full hookup RV sites are luxurious.
Cherie Hoskin
If you love the country side Cuivre River State Park is the place to be, swimming, fishing, hiking trails and much more. Beautiful clean park.
Colleen Dwyer
We went to swim. The lake was gross with dead bugs, leaves, and algae chunks floating everywhere in the water. They kept snagging in my hair. About halfway out in the water the ground changes to mushy rotting plants on the bottom. We all had water shoes, but it still felt gross to walk on. The bathroom was a porta-potty style toilet. Not the best state park for swimming.
Andy Dubitsky
It was the first time I really got to experience a lot of what the park had to offer Plenty of amenities in a great getaway for anybody coming from near or far
Rachel King
I visited this here for the first time recently and what a gem this park is! The trail all along the waters edge was my favorite, especially on a crisp fall morning. Was fortunate to experience 9ish miles on my first visit here, but it won't be my last.
JWIEGRAFFE
Really a gem of a park for this region of Missouri. If one wasn't atunned to their actual location, you might mistakenly believe you're in the Ozarks. Hills and creeks abound for exploring and foraging and a lake to fish, swim, and paddle. Even saw some folks bow fishing the spillway after a hard rain.
Michelle Menz
Beautiful Park
Clean Camping Area
Nature Blooming
Daniel Wilson
Me and my grandchildren went fishing we had fun fishing 🎣😄 …
Jason Phillips
Hiking, mountain biking, fishing, camping, wading in the creek, swimming in Lake Lincoln, picnic areas. You've got a lot of options at Cuivre River State Park. Great place to spend the day or a weekend.
Frank Quintana
Kids first camping trip In it turned out to be a blast even when it rained .ain't no motel 😜it's the place for tent camping for sure there is a curfew at 10:00 it'gott to get quiet which is understandable …
Ric Morgan
Not too far from town but far enough for a relaxing time. Roads into the campground are great. Clean campground with one shower house. Full hookups are a plus.
Matthew
This park offers miles and miles of well marked trails as well as some great camping sites. The trails aren't the most scenic you will find in the area but it's a great park to visit nonetheless.
Erin Ragan
Pretty place, but it was basically raining tics. I was constantly bushing my dog off because i was watching them fall. I also had several tiny baby tics on me, all of this within the first 15 minutes on the trail. I turned around and left.
Kristen Wilson
Beautiful trails and views, but have been there twice now and run into a few issues. Yield to horses on ALL trails. Equestrian riders do not have trail etiquette and will ride wherever they want. IMPORTANT: Park guest should ALWAYS keep there dogs on leashes and under control. This unfortunate irresponsibility by a dog owner lead to an our dog being attacked. My husband and dogs (2- Akitas) stopped to hydrate when we were approach boldly by an American Bulldog (with a leash attached), but no handler (owner). A man with his his family and two young children were about 30 yards behind when his dog began to pursue our dogs/ us. The man called for his dog, but his dog did not respond. The man only jolted into action when an altercation broke out between the dogs. My husband physically intervened to pull the dogs apart before the man ever arrived to take back the leash. This should have never happened and has tainted our view of these trails.
John Ferris
This is a really great state park. The sites are relatively private. The bath house is clean and in good shape. There is a lake and the rates are super reasonable
Carl Brown
Beautiful but roads are steep and curvy kinda dangerous for a camper but we made it!
Terri Wilson
We stayed the first weekend in November and the water was still on at the sites, the bathrooms were closed as advertised. The sites were level, the store was open, we had a great weekend. Don't follow Google Maps to the back gate, it isn't open except Sundays to let campers leave.
Russell Holt
One of our favorite state parks for camping and hiking. Lot's of trails of varying lengths and difficulty. Fairly large lake for swimming/canoeing. Canoes available for rent.
Kim Rixen
Had a great time camping in the park. I was there for moral season. There was plenty of space and the rangers were very helpful and knowledgeable about the park. Looking to go back next year with my lids
David O'Leary
Nice park. Needs better signage. Beach is quite nice. Lake is very nice. Woods are pretty. Looking forward to spending more time here.
Aaron Casy
Just did a two night stay at the campgrounds and it was really peaceful and the atmosphere was very relaxing
Excellent experience
lissa michelle
Friendly staff until you park on the grass, major no no. Hot showers and clean bathrooms, great campsites, wooded and private, RV area not to impressive, but nice none the less
Terie Phipps Greenemay
Well I live here, and the serenity and wildlife is awesome, so quite no huddle bussel sounds jus peace and quiet. Everyone would be jealous. It's a Wonderful place to stay and play to live!
Jessica Kincaid
Very pretty and lots of things to do and see no matter what you like!! We plan to visit again soon for sure 😊 …
Travis Miller
We love it here, the wife and our dogs get here at least three times a year, love the trails, ample camping locations, close to Troy but tons of back woods feel!
Ted Meyer
A regional treasure. Built during the great depression of the 1930s, many structors erected by the CCC still stand and are in regular use still.
Creeks, Cuivre River, a large lake, hiking trails, Campgrounds, and scenic views from atop Frenchmans Bluff are year round features. About an hours drive north of St Louis.
Kathy Torrington
Enjoyed a peaceful night of camping. The park was clean and well cared for and the staff were friendly and helpful!
Heidi Meister
One of 9ur favorite state parks! Great camping sites and lovely trails!
scott pruitt
Awesome trails to walk. Lincoln lake offers a public beach, good fishing, you can rent canoes, kayaks.
Michael Mcdonald
I grew up in the State Park I love that place it has a big lake two small creeks plenty of hiking trails camping canoeing playgrounds places to barbecue and the Cuivre River Runs Through It and close to home
Julia Sayre
Had a great time always love going here although I didn't rate 5 because it's not recommended to go swimming in the water the water was tested very high at a 590.61 it's supposed to be under 100.50 Also tried to do some hiking my family and I were in the woods for maybe 10 min and came out COVERED from head to toe in tiny microscopic ticks our fault for not being properly prepared
Cole Edwards
Lake walking trail, campgrounds are nice and spread out.
Close to home. We go here all the time.
Christina Singleton
This was one of the cleanest and peaceful camping trips I have ever gone on. Somewhere to take the family and enjoy.
Daniel Mallett
It's a great place for the most part, but the raccoons are absolutely fearless and apparently we aren't allowed to shoot them even if we wake and they are in our tent. Won't camp here again.
iloveitontop
Nice beach and lots to do.
Joseph Frye
Very pretty park with lovely winding roads. Lots of natural trails to walk and enjoy along with a beach for swimming and kayak rentals for enjoying Cuivre River
Arashelly Zavala Leyva
I could say We enjoyed the lake a lot. Not over crowded and relaxing, fun, sunny summer.
Krista D
Too many drug deals and sketchy people these days.
sandra russell
Ranger at Visitors Center very helpful. Nice display of living native wildlife. Tornado siren available in camping area.
Doug Swiatocha
Nice park, but trails are definitely in need of maintenance and facilities could use some updating and cleaning. Lots of wildflowers which was very pretty.
Rich Cline
Always a fun place to camp and not too far away from home in case you have little ones. Great amenities and lake.
kelly burch
I'm a local and rent regularly.
Justin Lundquist
Awesome hiking and lakes.
Cody Quist
Amazing park. Lots of trails and even if you dont want to walk you can just drive around the winding road and it is beautiful.
Judy Price
Can understand regular bathrooms being locked at this time since water isn't turned on till April 1 but out houses should not be locked. Had to leave the park to use restroom.
Sharon Fincher
Was visiting son and daughter in law at their camp site site was absolutely beautiful. Very relaxing. Felt close to God at the park.
Aubrie Carpenter
Great camping. They also have water boards, kayaks and canoes to rent for going out on the water. There is plenty of hiking as well.
RICK ETTERLING
Very nice park. They are working on the road so be aware of the detour if camping. The rangers are fantastic.
Paul Barnes
