I Love Coming Here with Kids Getting them outdoors for a relaxing Hike. I have Kids From ages 5-12 and they did A 3 Mile Hike with No problem. Thereare Little pathways to get on the River path.

Made my first ever visit here yesterday. I pulled into the parking lot and was somewhat disappointed in the number of cars in the parking lot. It was full. I'm an "off the beaten path" kind of guy, so I tend to enjoy places where I can get away. Grabbed a trail map in the visitor's center (it's beautiful btw) and took off down the River Trail (well maintained) and found in no time at all I was all by myself !! Also hiked the Flood Plain Loop and din't see another person on that. After taking a break to grab some lunch, I hiked the Vista Loop. Well worth your time !! Very much enjoyed my time here and took plenty of pics. Didn't see much in the way of wildlife but I didn't get here until shortly before noon.

SD's newest state park just east of Sioux Falls on the SD Iowa border. The Big Sioux River runs along the eastern edge. Several miles of hiking trails in this oak savannah habitat. Great place to see birds of the eastern deciduous forest. The new visitor center features an exhibit of Oneota culture of Native American tribes who gathered in the area.

Love to come here and take a load off. Lots of good trails to hike and cool spots to hangout and admire nature. Might want some bug spray to make it a better trip.

Pretty yet kind of boring & trite.

If you’re looking for a nice outdoor run on a mile+ trail, this is your place!

Way more hiking trails than you would think out of this relatively small park. I got 7 and a half miles when I did almost every trail in the park. Some of the hills at the south end of the park are very steep, so fair warning to anyone doing them. The observation decks had great views of the Big Sioux River and Northwest Iowa. Great park, will likely be back.

Nice visitors center and friendly staff. Open year round! Several well maintained trails, with 3 very nice overlook decks. Plenty of wild life. Prone to flooding but hopefully they're working on resolving the parts of the trail that go under.

This is my favorite place around Sioux Falls to hike and walk the dog. It has an extensive layout of trails along the Big Sioux river. This place is great for all seasons and us generally not to crowded.
