What a fun Rec center! The kids loved the pool and we spent most of our time in there! Love that they have a toddler area and the big slide/lazy river for older kids too! Can't wait to go back!

We have the family plan and love it. The swimming pool is great for kids. Great staff there. And the machines are really new for a city-owned facility. Highly recommended.

Overall it's a great place with good workout gear awesome never-can-stay-the-same-temperature-water- showers but that comes along with all the water that runs over there. Their pool area is great as well. They have rooms where you can have a conference or have a birthday or any kinda gathering which is cool and convenient. It's only 6$ for an all day pass. Can't quite remember how much the weekly, monthly or yearly cost but I will update this soon. So it's the employees* that always get a down star from me just the attitude and nerve of them a few times. I just can't. *Not all employees

Nice little gem of a rec center ticket into Rose Park. Our kids are loving being on the swim team. Our youngest finishes every practice with a couple runs down the water slide. Glad we found this place.

I've never been to Northwest Rec center but I took the youngest grand kid and went she had a blast the life guard told her she could survive the slide and she did, also parents can sit right by the pool which is a huge plus. We will go again

Pretty great. I love their indoor track! My only complaints are that their gym lacks a stretching area, and that their pool is often closed due to a lifeguard shortage. Pretty sure that's not exclusive to them though, so don't hold that against them. Nice place!

I love coming here for the gym, swimming, and the park that is behind the rec center! They have many activities that go one so go check out their events page through the website! They have log rolling, inflatable water rock climbing, and many other events and classes!

The pool is ok for small kids inside. The other pool was for lap swimming only. But the womans locker room showers flooded and were either cold or hot. And the cleaning lady was rude. Also kids who should of been wearing swimming diapers were not.

This place is quite the experience! With little kids peeing in the pools and hot moms tanning, I could not recommend it more. I’m pretty sure they have a pool as well. Not sure tho, kinda got lost in the bathroom with the amazing showers. The downpour of the water in the latrine was breathtaking and perplexing. I am absolutely obsessed with one of the lifeguards. THANKS STAFF!!!!

I've just discovered the heart of the community! Nice facility, Aqua Zumba is so much fun!! Reasonable price too. It's a great place for all community members to go for exercise and fun, both young and old, any fitness level. The people who work there are very warm and welcoming. It has a great community feel. Will be going again and again!

Ive used the work out equipment, taken both Zumba classes ( water and regular) had a couples different chances to interact with multiple staff members, taken kids to there for a fun time swimming and just recently signed my daughter up for swimming lessons and I feel comfortable giving a review. The staff have always bern very nice and helpful. The three different instructors have been amazing. Especially the water Zumba. The facility is ALWAYS clean and fully stocked. It's never packed. Its a perfect place for our community to take to utilize and to give back to.

I love this rec center. It’s new, clean, and has great amenities. The swim lessons for kids are the best. You can’t find a better deal and all the teachers are wonderful. A lot of the teacher are students from West High and the young kids adore them. I expect us to be coming back here for years.

A new facility built by Salt Lake County which opened in June, 2010. It's a complete recreational facility with two pools (children's and separate lane swimming with observation deck), a complete weight/machine room, two basketball/volleyball courts, running track, aerobics room and shower/locker facilities. The equipment is well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. Membership fees are reasonable. Plenty of parking available. In addition, an older adjacent facility includes a senior center, day care and summer camps, and a computer lab. The grounds include several soccer fields, covered picnic buildings, a children's playground and access to the Jordan River Bikeway.

Just signed up, the facilities look amazing and clean, the lady at the front desk was super nice. Update: have been going here for months. I mostly use the treadmills, indoor track, and day care for my kid. No complaints, it’s a great rec center! The kids pool I have used a handful of times and it’s lovely

Love the pool, which is always very clean and has plenty of slides, water canons and a lazy river. Great for all ages. Water is pleasantly warm. The rest of the facility is really nice, too. Their ski lessons for kids after school are amazing !

This is a great rec center in the Salt Lake area. They have the kiddie pool and the lap pool, a nice gym, basketball courts and a small indoor running track. The prices for membership or just day pass are affordable, even for families. The facility is ways clean and kept up. It is also in a quiet area and not generally very busy. This is also a great place for a swimming themed birthday party. You won't find a better deal for the number of people you can bring.

The indoor pool is fun for my son but it gets boring and a bit crowded after awhile. They're open year round and you don't have to be a member to use their facilities. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the pool kinda of sucks.

I would give five stars but they are not open until 6 and have limited hours on the weekends. I enjoy working out and our membership has encouraged me to swim for exercise as well. The staff is all pretty friendly and the classes are included with membership. I wish they had a steam room and provided towels, otherwise a great community center.

Finally they had hot water for showers, on 2.1.20, after almost two months of cold-ish, "inconsistent" showers. I'm glad someone finally figured out what part needed to be replaced, and did so.....(let's hope it keeps working well) Otherwise, this is best pool and gym in town.

Nice place but too many people there using the tredmills spray the disinfectant excessively causing others to choke from the strong fumes while they're running. Ventilation may not be too great. If you go at non-peak times, it's perfect.

$16 for set of 4 adult swim lessons! Doug is a great teacher! Huge indoor pool and a separate huge pool just for kids. Make sure to bring a lock!!! I'm told they also sell them at the front desk. I've had my stuff rummaged through and thrown on the floor.

Holy moley, this is a fine gym! I've been in their pool, warm enough to get right in. There was a class in the adult pool, so I risked it with the kiddie pool. I know what you're thinking, (I was thinking it too), but I tried not to forget how many times I peed in pools when I was a kid and pretend these kids had better moral fiber. Glad I did, there's a track with a strong current, so you can give yourself a workout walking against the current, or float with it. The reason I was in the pool was my knees. They were too creaky that day, so I made a point of trying put the pool. Usually I walk the track, work out on the equipment, or join one of the classes. I have a friend who takes the water aerobics class, and she loves it. Not sure if that cost extra, but the dry-land aerobics classes are free.

I mainly use the weight room there. They have a good dumbbell set, an array of machines, benches, and the facility is always clean. A couple things the weight room could use is a place to do dead lifts, and a squat rack. They have a smith machine but that's no replacement for a squat rack. Overall happy with the place and would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable gym.

The Northwest Recreation Center is a beautiful facility. You can participate in many different sports, exercise and relaxation activities. You can practice your jump shot in the beautiful basketball gym, swim in the large pools, attend water aerobics classes, work out with a variety of fitness equipment, take a yoga class, run on the indoor track, and so much more. Children love the large family swimming pool with its various water features. Several activities are geared toward seniors. There is something for every age group and ability level.

Mid day swims are amazing. The pool has up to six (?) Lanes so there is minimal circle swimming if ever. The basket ball gym has two courts with an indoor track on the second level. The track is accessible through the upper level fitness gym. The gym has free weights and weight machines as well as cardio optuons.

Love the staff but this Saturday I went with my little brother and I have the 2 person pass the fat white lady that was on shift 5 pm 7/3/21 should get fried everyone cool here except her I don’t know if she thinks she’s a manager or something but she talked to me with the most attitude i ever experienced, today I wasn’t feeling like arguing but trust me when I say I would’ve put her in her place the disrespect I felt is horrible especially infront of my little brother, she was wearing a black shirt and really should just be fired people like her shouldn’t be working at a family facility with her dog looking face would scare all the kids away. Just disgusted right now

Northwest Rec Center is super clean, super friendly, and well equipped. The leisure pool is great with a nice long "lazy river" and fun water features. The exercise instructors are knowledgeable and approachable. Personal Training is top notch, and they have a great class called "shape up" that is a sort of "group personal training". It costs extra ($55 for 5 weeks-two classes a week plus online nutrional guidance) but is so worth it.
