Reviews of The Rink at Thompson's Point
Great place for the kids to go.
Little disappointed as their web site was not updated as there is no warming hut. And out of some of their drinks as they did project correctly what they needed.
$8.00 skating and $3.00 rental not bad. But if your not providing everything then you shouldn't be charging full price.
Such a fun time! Skating was perfect, the staff was so friendly and helpful. Covid safe! so glad we found this place.
Great place for ice skating. Love the location. A little pricey ($11 for admissions and skates as compared to the arena) but the location makes up for it. The skates were really nice high quality ones and the blades were sharp so it made skating fun. The ice was rough when we got there at 830pm and they closed at 10pm, and was a little tough to skate on but it was still a fun experience. The place had a fire pit and nice big warming yurts. They also had trailers for bathrooms which was nice.
So much fun! We went for the first time towards the end of the season. I am looking foreward to purchasing a family season pass for next year. Everyone had a great time. For the little kids and those uneasy on skates, they have assistance rentals which made it fantastic to take my 5 year old aroubd the rink. The snack stand is nice to grab a treat too. The bar side has some nice local brews on tap. I fell in love with the Bissell brothers ipa. Overall a great time for the whole family.
It’s a lot of fun here. The rink is small, which is fine unless there is a ton of people. Nice choice of reasonably priced snacks along with beer and wine, so that’s awesome. Is it perfect? No, but it’s outdoor skating in Maine so it’s damn close.
Nice spot, great price! You have a great view, a little fire and a place to get beers! Also you pay once and can spend as much time as you want! A bit rustic but good place
I'm 50 and haven't skated in 35 years and was never good at it, but I had been wanting to try again. Everyone I have encountered there has been very helpful. I had a my skates sharpened for $7, if you rent skates it will cost you $3, it costs $8 to skate, they also have skate aids for rent. The rink is sponsored by LL Bean,on Wed night it is $4 to skate. It' s never that busy when I am there, and the rink is not huge, but we'll kept. They have a concession stand with hot drinks and snacks right by a fire pit. Beware of frozen spots on the rubber mats walking around. No indoor bathrooms, only porta potties for facilities. Plenty of parking and lots of fun.
First time here today. First time skating with the kids (ages 6 & 7), everyone loved it, had such a great time. Were here for over 2 hours and we had to peel the kids off the ice, didn't want to leave and can't wait to come back. The skate aides are so helpful, the side rink for the learners is a genius added touch. Despite being a holiday weekend, surprised at how crowded it wasn't (!!). Can't wait to return, maybe just the adults this time and take full advantage of the yurt.
Staff is so friendly and 7$ on Thursday for students with skates included is such a steal! Must go at night for the nice lights
This venue is absolutely gorgeous! The amount of space, the lighting for vendors, and the ability to house tap beer is awesome. Another plus IMHO is a that there is no seating here which allows for equal opportunity viewing of the performances! 🎵/🎵 And would do again! …
Our daughter has attended two private skating parties w/ friends since the new year and they were sanity savers. The value of safe recreation in a group setting during Covid was such a gift!
Great place to skate and affordable! Good sized rink, skate rentals, and plenty of sitting spots.
They were following all Covid-19 precautions.
Rink is really well done. Thompson point parking is the more ridiculous set up ever. Pay to park strait out of the Massachusetts mafia hand book!
The Rink is a great place for a couple hours of winter fun. Especially in a winter where ice conditions naturally have been pretty bad. The well maintained and Zambonied ice is a treat to skate on. With outdoor firepit, foodcart on site, and warming huts you can't go wrong. Bring your own skates or rent as I do for my daughter's fast growing shoe size. Definitely a winter go to.
Great place to skate. They have plastic stands to help new younger skaters. Pricing is reasonable. There's a warming hut and snack bar too.
I loved skating there.
When I went it was super cold and super windy. So check the weather before you go because I didnt.
Luckily they had a yurt with heat so you could thaw yourself out.
A great skating rink, but is often very crowded. They follow covid guidelines and have a wonderful and kind staff.
Great spot!
Not too pricey!
Ice was not in great shape tonight, but that's not typical.
My only gripe would be they charge for children to use the skate-trainer. Charge the teens and adults but let the kiddos learn. 4 stars.
Nice small rink with skate rentals, a warm up hut, and a beer tent! Thompson's Point is a lovely spot with a pretty view.
Great night skate center. A little crowded. Stated about an hour kid had lots of fun skating
During concerts this is where they sell beer and cider. And anyplace that sells Downeast Cider is good with me. Though they would have gotten five stars if the Downeast was on tap.
Well done, decent concession choices, beer menu, and a couple seasonal outdoorsy cocktails. Ice zambonied every couple hours.
What a wonderful place this was to skate. I'm looking forward to next year! Food trucks, beers, hot chocolate, skate rentals, and a yurt. Who could ask for more?
Good place to have some fun with friends. Very cold but they serve hot drinks
The rink size could be bigger, the rules are lax, the environment is killer. Beer, food, skating, great view. Go...
Great show, you need to see King Kyote on Thursday's before the end if August!
We had so much fun ice skating with a view of the ocean!
Great time ice skating. A small snack cart and lots of room to spread out.
Had a great time tonight and the girls loved it. So glad they have the skate assists for rent.
We got there early at 10 am. We were the third vehicle there. It felt like we had the place to ourselves, but the taps weren't flowing and a zimboni never came around.
Tons of fun, mall rink and usually pretty busy. Nice warning area and has food trucks
Very small ice rink, very crowded. Not recommend for someone who wants a quiet skate place.
Great place to go ice skating!! Good prices, warming hut, food, and nice staff!
Great place to skate at.. All amenities..beer and food.. Only downside is the cold weather ..
The place is beautiful. The only down part is, the ice could use sweeping more often.
Great view on the water, fun, nice warm yurt & outdoor fire pit.
Wonderful rink by the water. Music playing and great fun to see the cars on the highway!
Good fun and value, could definitely use more tubes and more food options
Awesome Birthday skate. Great place!
Great little rink, snack shack is lacking
Smaller than I thought it would be. A bit pricey for the size but all in all would go again.
Fun, good music, fire pit, food and bar
Great place for the whole family awsome time
My grandson loves to skate here!
Fun place for not a lot of money!
Great place to spend the day with the kids.
Super fun COVID activity!
Great place and good prices
Yo VIP, let's kick it
