Rio Vista is within walking distance of our home so we love to visit. Recently the playground was redesigned! Throughout the week, the fields are busy with school aged sports, including soccer, football and softball. There is a skate park that is almost always busy, and a new cafe which we haven’t had a chance to try yet. We used to be members of the rec center which has great racquetball courts and a nice gym. We love walking around the lake. Lots of ducks and geese and occasionally a crane. Overall this is a wonderful community park.

Oddly enough, I was here as a wedding photographer for a couple who tied the knot! I was really surprised to see what a great space this is, not only as a neighborhood park, but for events such as weddings. It was spacious, accommodating, and really pretty. Ample, private area for the bride's getting ready room, great lighting for hair and makeup, large outdoor ceremony space and even pretty surroundings for after ceremony bride and groom photos! They also had fabulous accommodations for the reception space. A real hidden gem!

Nice enough place. We like this area. Close to Honey Hive Farms. They are open on Saturdays 10 am to 1 pm so we go pick up local raw honey and then hit the park.

Great community recreation center! Very clean and well maintained. Classes are well attended. Love the volleyball that they have 3 times a week. Good exercise equipment. The walking/jogging track above the gym floor is wonderful for anyone who wants to do that indoors rather than outside.

Very nice park where you can relax by the ponds or go for a walk. I love taking my dog there to see the ducks and other dogs out with their owners. Very clean and well maintained public park. Bring a blanket or a fold up chair because there’s a lot of duck poop in certain areas but it’s nature at its finest. 😉🦆🦆🦆 Besides, it all comes out in the wash🐥

It's so gorgeous here, plus the playground is amazing and the splash pad, my kiddos had a amazing time. The trails where awesome and reading the history was awesome and to have the ducks and geese follow me warmed my soul.

Very clean, family friendly, and tons of ducks to feed here. Little to no fishing here but the pond supports what it can do. Also there are tons of Pokemon here to catch, green grass and lots of trees. Best part is that the New River Trail runs directly next to the park, perfect for a mid-stop break.

This center has everything! The main recreation center building is beautiful. There are many uses for the facility. We visited on a Friday evening and there was some sort of Jr high/High School dance function. Looked very lively around the area. There is a wonderful memorial on the other side of that building that is worth the trip in it self! Did a few minutes of evening fishing for fun, few bites but nothing landed. Not much time spent tho. There were many people setting up for some catfishing so it looks promising. Skate park, volleyball and many other surprises as well! We will definitely be back!

I organized a Celebration of Life Reception here for my best friend's husband. The staff was fabulous to work with and the room was phenomenal. The attached kitchen was a true asset and the views were great too. We were also very impressed with the AV equipment too. Best place to hold any event. They even made a beautiful sign for the entry.

For those who don't know, (like myself) this is where the Peoria Veterans Memorial is located. This is a very wonderful dedication wall to the vets all the way back to the revolutionary war. They also have a helicopter staged there as if in mid flight. It was very impressive. This makes the third veterans memorial we have visited. The one in Fountain Hills is still my favorite, followed by this one, and the last the Anthem site. My wife says I should start a blog.

Enormous facility with everything from fishing to bird-watching to gym equipment and tennis courts and soccer fields and baseball fields. A great way to spend the day walking or whatever it is you would like to do.

This is a beautiful place to come and hang out with family, friends or just take a moment to relax alone. Fishing is offered across from the volleyball courts and skate park, and they have a children's playground across from the baseball fields. There are awesome bike and walking paths and plenty of ducks to watch also. There are also poop bag stations throughout the park. A Veteran's Memorial is just west of the recreation center also.

Great place to have a party or a get together! You can reserve a ramada and giant charcoal barbecue areas in the middle! Ponds for fishing too! Definitely recommend!

New constution of memorial is going to be beautiful. Great location for photo shoots. Lots of people all the time and still plenty of room to not feel crowed. Lots of field for soprts. Plenty of parking, skate park, gym, rock climbing wall, and more. There is a small fee for some amenities but the benefit is still great value.

Went to the rec center on a non-resident day pass. I was actually very impressed with the facilities. Clean and well maintained. The strength training area was well equipped with a good selection of dumbbells, plenty of plates and barbells, and a wide variety of machines. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was nowhere near as crowded as the well known chain gyms. Wipes were well stocked for cleaning. My workout was a little over 2 hours and I never had to wait to use anything. The selection of cardio machines, classes, etc. seemed good although they did not have my two favorite machines...the Cybex Arc trainer or the stair stepper. Open basketball courts were great for the kiddo who joined in plenty of pick up games and ended up falling asleep on the drive home. Great family physical outing when it's too hot outdoors. We'll be back!

Awesome use of green belts with several walking trails. Ponds with lots of people fishing. A memorial park for all branches of the military. Several baseball and softball fields. Soccer fields. Skate park. Sand volleyball courts. A splash pad for the kids. A huge playground. Ramadas with lots of grills. And so much more! A great place to take a lawn chair and find a shady tree and relax.

We have membership here and have for several years. We have tried the workouts, personal trainers, racquetball courts, climbing wall, and most of all pickleball in the gym. Grandkids were included in the daycare. Very nice facility.

We attended a party at ramada 6. It was right by the playground so it was good for parents to sit and talk while the kids played. It was pretty clean for being a public park. I didnt see much more since the party took place at dusk.

This community center is amazing. If you have never been, there is a trail called New River that is paved and goes all the way from the I10 to Union hills. You can access it from this park. There is all new equipment at the playground. If you come in the evening, it is difficult to park at the playground due to sporting events, but well worth it.

Nice place to have a BBQ and play. Small kids playground has slides and climbing stuff. Big kids have fields for several sports. There is a river walking trail that goes several miles with north and west forks. Park is kept clean and bathrooms are maintained. Parking can be quite crowded but there’s a lot of it and people coming/going so you can usually score a spot quickly.

The gym is clean and has the equipment you expect. There is a locker room and two other sets of rr. The staff is normally friendly and helpful. The kids area and climbing wall is great. Our son loved the staff that helps in the kids areas and they were always watching them or engaged in play with the kids. The indoor walking track is nice and AIR-CONDITIONED! Water bottle fill stations and rooms for excerise classes on top floor. Two full size basketball courts in doors. They do a decent job of sharing courts between games and kids. My son does Basketball camp here now and loves it. They also do pickle ball on the courts. There are three handball/ racket ball indoor courts as well. Over all really great gym for the prices. They are about the same as your chain fitness places but far more family friendly and more activities. They get busy like normal but there is almost always equipment available. The added bonus of the amenities of the parks surrounding add to the overall experience.

I've been here 2 or 3 times to run 1/2 marathons but have never really "experienced the park." It has multiple public restrooms, a sizeable playground for kids, a small community fishing pond, nice paved trails, and probably much more. I imagine if you're local, it'd be a great place to spend an afternoon.

Great facilities at this park! Right next to the paved New River trail with 25+ miles of dedicated path--no need to cross any streets. Looks like it's being extended and will be even better. You can also continue on the canal path to go even further.

We had our wedding there this past weekend, and it was such a blast! It was simple small with family and friends..and we were so blessed to have it there as it was pouring rain that day. All my nieces and nephews and close family friends kids were having a blast playing in the game room and rock wall. The parents were absolutely amazed that the kids were having a blast and it kind of gave them a break too. We were able to drop off our cake the night before and they even landed us an extension cord as my parents couldn't figure out my arm with the lights..lol everything was perfect..the only complaint I could really say I had...was to wash off the duck poop around the room as my wedding dress got in it.

A clean, fun place to go for the day. The playground, water splash pad, and parking are all free. You can have birthday parties too. It may get crowded outside because it's free, but inside it does cost a bit, but then there's a gym, basketball court, table tennis, a track upstairs, and I love the rock climbing! There's even computer games for those who wish to use it.

Was please to find this park clean and is a great for an outing. Walk my dog along the shore until she decided to go chase the ducks. To my surprise she jumped in to get to those ducks. My wife and I were taken back by her quick jump. Next time I bring a towel! Had a nice time!

Nice big park with my son's favorite skate board bowls. Well patrolled here that I've never had a problem. Right now the lake is half drained and the kids water play area is closed for repair. I use this park regularly to bike down the dry river because its paved bike/pedestrian paths seem to make us feel like we are out if the city.

Very clean and modern. Super friendly front desk personnel that explained the details of the center and allowed me to take a tour. People were playing pickleball were very friendly and explained the drop in doubles procedure and I even invited me to play! Nice walking track above the rim of the gym. Fishing pond out back and outdoor upstairs patio that looked over the pond. Lots of programs for both adults and kids. Really nice place.

A great place to workout if you aren't a bodybuilder. Very nice people work here. Most everyone seems interested. The facilities are always clean and upgrades occur frequently. They have a few very nice rooms to rent for events. The bathrooms are always clean. The workout equipment is well taken care of. The gym is nice. The running/jogging track is done well. They have facilities to take care of little ones while you work out. The price is a bit higher than the super cheap places, but for the price, it is a great deal.

We love this park. This veterans memorial is a tribute. Its clean, super kid friendly and has a great rec center. More ball parks then you could imagine. They are always ducks and the y a pretty nice. They also have a massive bbq center that pretty awesome.

This park has a few man made ponds that ducks love. There is a huge shelter area with picnic tables and grills that you can reserve for large gatherings. The playground is huge and is great for all ages. A splash pad is wonderful for little kids during the hot summers. There is a rec center for working out. If you play Pokémon Go, there are many gyms and stops to spin as well.

Love this park!! Awesome place for recreational sports for kids & adults. Very well kept up. Offers splash pad in the summer, very large playground, sand volleyball courts, skate park, outside batting cages, youth & adult baseball/softball fields, concession stand, & a large Ramada area where you can rent a space for parties. You can also go fishing here. The Rec center offers additional activities, but at a cost.

Great place for small and large gatherings. We rented two Ramada's and there was plenty of room and plenty of grills. Kid had a player and of course there was the water and ducks. We also made use of the volleyball court. Bathrooms are convenient and near where we were. Definitely a park well managed.

A really nice gym with a friendly community. Lots of people are nice to talk to there. It's not a gym for pros I would say, but they have a lot of stuff to do there. Lots of variety. They even have a nice park with water and a playground, they also have a skate park and other cool stuff. Even a daycare, definitely worth checking out the place :)

Amazing place to work out. They also have a rock wall for the kids. They also have rooms for you to practice tennis. Restrooms are great and they have for kids where they can play games and stuff. They also have places for you to play base / soft ball. The park itself is ok.

This rec center and the park the are really quite nice. I love going here to Pokémon hunt with my family. Plenty of stops and a couple gyms. My children enjoy the play equipment and the spray park when it's open.

Great fun good league structure unfortunately some of the softball umpires leave a lot to be desired. Especially the umpire named Vick he is rude and really should learn the rules. The restrooms at the park could use some updating but overall good experience.

An outstanding part. Swimming, rock climbing, inside and skate park, ponds, fishing, and a huge park. No $ for the park. They do offer family plans for low prices for the extras but if you just want to go to the skate park or any other part of the park that's all free. Personally I've never been inside but I've heard they have the rock climbing a public swimming pool that's super cheap and other amenities inside. But bring a few chairs and sit by the pond and feed the Ducks.

My favorite park to walk my dogs and the workers are always informative about any questions on why fish are dead and gives reasons and why the pink gum looking stuff on water edges as its apple snail eggs ! It's just a great park but water park for the kids does need to be better like festival park as all kids love water as hot as it gets here!

Good work out equipment. It has two inside basketball courts and two racquetball courts as well as a gaming room. It also has a nice playground outside. Customer service is pretty good but they did go up in price recently for the day pass. It used to be $3 but now it's $4.

Great community center and park! I take my son here to work out at the gym upstairs and it only costs 6 dollars. Meanwhile my wife and I walk around the park that has ducks and a pond. There are a lot more for kids though to do here like basketball or rock climbing and racket ball.

Definitely one of the best parks around. Clean and organized. Lots of activities, they even have fishing. The new veterans memorial is amazing. One thing that is missing is an outside basketball court. They do have one indoors though that is really nice.

This is a gorgeous park and there is something for everyone. Hiking, playground, rec. center, lake for fishing, baseball fields, BBQ/picnic areas and splash park. Lake is a bit on the small side but there is plenty of grass around it for those family picnics. Very nice park!

Great park for the family, lots of walking space and a good playground. There are tons of sports games on the weekends, at least when it's not super hot, so be on the lookout for that and maybe don't visit then. They have cabanas available for rent, some even have barbecues which makes the area great for parties. There's also a ton of Pokemon stops, so if you play Pokemon Go it's a good spot to hang out at. The community center has a gym, great views since it's on the second floor. There's also some nice eater features as well as fishing available.

The park is beautiful and there's plenty to do there. Running courses, skate park, sand volleyball, a gym, etc.... The park is kept up exquisitely. The new veterans memorial is amazing as well. I love the small town feel that Peoria provides. So much better than Phoenix.

I grew up coming here and it never gets old. Fun splash pad for summer. Great for cook outs. And if you don’t want a huge crowded gym during the day they have a very nice and very cheap gym.

This park is wonderful!! So so much to do here. Big playground. Splash pad area. Big recreation center with inexpensive classes and activities. The big ramada area has lots of grills available and lots of tables. Bike path connects to a major trail that runs along New River.

I was dissapointed after signing up for a 1 year family membership to learn that my two younger kids 10 & 5 couldn't use most of the facility and the activities they were eligible for are only offered at times that are not convenient for my family.

This is a great playground and park. Lots of shade, large playset, and their splash pad opens the 2nd week of April. You do have to watch your little ones because the lake does not have fencing around it and it's close enough to the play area that my little ones like to make a dash for it.

Normally I would give this park a 5-star. I've been coming here for years since my thirteen-year-old was a baby. But lately they've been letting the park go. The baby swings are really dirty and beat up. Other than that it's a good Park.

The rec center is nice, with all kinds of stuff to do. The staff is fantastic. They have an indoor track so that you can get your cardio in after a workout. They offer all sorts of exercise classes, and have personal trainers that you can have help you out with your workouts. They also have nice indoor space available to rent for hosting events as well.

This park is beautiful, one of my favorite places to be there's a nature trail that is about 2 miles around you can walk that is amazing, you can fish at the Veteran's Memorial pond as well as see the actual military helicopter on display along with grills, soccer fields and more. VERY POPULAR. Good luck finding a place to park, if you do you are lucky if it's near the area you are using. NOT NEARLY ENOUGH HANDICAP PARKING. COULD NOT get to the area our activities were, as there were no wheelchair 'cuts' in the sidewalk. I have a van with a ramp that opens out the side to get in and out of van, when NO HANDICAP PARKING is available, I have to find two open parking places in order to drop my ramp. EVERY TIME I have to park in 2 spaces, someone leaves a note on my van calling me a name I can't print here. Where/how am I to park and be able to exit w/wheelchair w/o the room to drop ramp? No matter how great the park seems to be, it is only for the able body person. If using a wheelchair, don't go there, you can't use it....too many obstacles to fight.

The Rio Vista Recreation Center is a great facility. They have fields for all kinds of sports and a great exercise area. Lots of paths for walking, and a fun lake that they stock for fishing. They also have a great play area for kids, and a number of grassy areas and shade trees for picnics.

This is an amazing Community Park. It's right up the street from where we live, has fishing ponds, a splash pad, a playground, a skatepark, multiple Sports fields, and everything inside the recreation center of course. It's also great for Pokemon go. It gets packed on Community Day. I kid you not.

My review of Rio Vista Community Park is very awesome. There are great walking trail that take you along this desert river and down the length of the park. Just past the community center there is a cute gated splash pad with inviting water spout friends to play with. The ramada picnic area just after that is intriguing with it's wagon wheel arrangement of covered picnic tables in a ring around a central circle of barbecue grills that surround a circle of wash basins. The play area is sand filled with large ares of spongy rubber pads under the play equipment with bathrooms at the very end. If you want a park to host your large family event. Look no further than this park. It's incredible.

It is equipped with tables, BBQ Grill's, and sitting areas. We saw a lot of kids BD parties being held there that day. What a great idea!

My wife and I have signed up for free Sustainable You educational seminars. A majority of these are being held at Rio Vista, Peoria Community Center. These seminars educate on growing and taking care of outside trees and plants, including watering and pruning in a desert environment. This complex hosts many activities, which include outdoor baseball, vollyball fields, a skate park, a playground and a Military Veterans Memorial. There is also an indoor fitness center. I love this park and my kids do too but today we found a snake that had been partly ran over, I went and told the park ranger on duty because it was outside the boys restroom by kids playground and didn't want a little kid trying to grab it or for it to bite someone, the Ranger said Ok and did nothing about it, August 24 2013 6:05pm. The snake was in the asphalt but less then 10 ft from restroom.

This park is nice. I just didn't appreciate the security guy. I took a couple friends from east Phoenix to check out the nice park. The security tells us the park was about to close. We walk back to the car he follows is out. Which we paid no mind because he has to lock up right. We end up at QT at the corner of the road and dude shows up there. We're like ok he's on break or whatever si we leave then he follows us out of QT to the light pulls up next to us and had the nerve to ask us what we were doing. We are leaving. It was super strange.

We reserved a Ramada right by the lake and the little waterfall to spend the day with family and have a small memorial service for my mother. I got all of the detailed information off of their website, which is put together and organized very well. Then when I knew exactly what I wanted, I called and reserved, where I also received great information and was able to make my reservation in 5 minutes a very friendly, knowledgeable clerk. The Ramada was ready and waiting, with a reserved sign on it. The park was clean, the lake was very nice with a few ducks here and there. Our ramada was very near the community center, where they had clean, indoor bathrooms, vending machines, a water fountain with filtered water, made especially for filling up sports water bottles and much more. The ramada we reserved had two large picnic benches, a barbeque grill and an electrical outlet (which was very handy, since we had phones to charge and we brought electronic equipment. There was also a trash can right there at our site and a shade tree on each side of our covered ramada. At some point during the day, a couple of guys came riding up on golf carts wanting to know how our day was going and asking us to fill out a survey.

Another great recreation center or also known as a Sports Complex. Near the intersection of Thunderbird Rd and the Loop 101 West this place is very popular with those living on the west side or the northwest valley area. At times I have friends that come here from Central Phoenix, Avondale, Goodyear area, and even from Scottsdale. During the summer evenings it could become crowded so reservations are recommended 😉😀

A splash pad that makes water parks green with envy, sports fields the likes of which Zeus himself would play softball on! Bbq some burgers!? Absolutely!
