Reviews of Cattail Cove State Park
Definitely a Favorite spot for our family. So glad we discovered this. There is something for every interest. Sit in the campground, or sit on the beach, or be on the water or in the water, or go for a hike, or challenge yourself with a run up the 1 mi road in. The staff is Amazing. The grounds are so well maintained. They did more trail markings since our last time here in November 2021 to this trip March 2022. Lake Havasu is a short drive or boat ride away. The bathrooms and showers are super clean. We need to get here more often. Just Love it here.
We LOVE hiking at Cattail Cove State Park near Lake Havasu City AZ! We travel here every winter and always spend a day hiking these trails near the water! There are several trail paths for different levels of hiking! The trail starts out easy and follows the edge of the water, you can cut back into the mountains for more difficulty or simply turn around and stay along the water for an easier hike on the way back! Gorgeous views!
This was one of the nicest state campgrounds we have stayed at. So nice they are booked a year in advance. Great beach for kids and also one for the dogs. Super clean grounds and facilities. Highly recommend it. They are adding more sites in the next year or two. Awesome sunsets
Decided to stop by Cattail Cove State leaving Havasu. One of the nicest state run parks in Arizona. Nice and Easy Beach access. Has a few Hiking Trails. Well worth the hike for overlooks of the Colorado River flowing downstream. Whyte's Retreat is my favorite trail since you have a view of Parker Dam in the distance and a secluded small beach at the end of the hike
Clean with obvious attention to site details. Shower and bathrooms are dated but clean and functional...I'd like to see the dog beach improved with nice sand like the "people-side'.
Almost everyone there had pups so a dog park area would be nice. But the facilities that are there are quite clean and functional. Very quiet at night. Rangers were very nice too. Launch ramp was also quite nice. Clean and great set-up.
Went for day use, beautiful beach and picnic area. Lovely views. They have a separate dog beach and dog park area so that was cool! It was just to the left of the boat launch. Pretty basic if you're just there for the day without a water craft. It looked like they possibly had some for rent though(they didn't mention it upon entrance) very well kept restrooms with showers. they had a small labyrinth you can walk in and a cactus garden in the campsite area. We would definitely love to try the campsite at some point!
Easily the nicest AZ State Park we have visited. The spaces are long enough for big rigs, with enough space between so you don't feel cramped. Trees and landscaping make it seem like a desert oasis. The beach is beautiful with nice white sand. The park is only 10 miles away from Lake Havasu city. Peaceful place to get away.
Had an awesome time here. Pretty decent swimming beach area, easy walking trails, well kept facilities, and friendly staff. One of my favorite AZ state parks.
We loved this park and stayed there until 10 pm. Sunset was so beautiful , we couldn't stop watching it. Stargazing was mesmerizing! Clean and neat park. Lots of dogs. Definitely coming back with my friends.
I can't say enough good things about this place except that when I die I'm going here if I'm good😁🌈🏕.My dog and I love the trails along the mountains at the waters edge and the overall laid back atmosphere here. It's a good place to fish (* see photos for what's in the h2o).I been here many times in an rv and tent both were great. Its secluded yet close to stores, they have full utility hook ups, super clean restrooms, dog + (2) people beaches and all of the rangers are extremely cool and give u your space. It's everyone/everything friendly. It's heaven at Lake Havasu!
So nice and beautiful there!! The water is crystal clear, there are sidewalks and paths through the sand. Easy access to the beach. Clean restrooms! It was a bit pricey, $15 for day use but well worth the price.
This is a beautiful little park, all of the sites are kept well groomed, the bathrooms are nicer than your average park, and have free showers with nice wide benches to set your things. There is a boat launch, a swimming beach with kayak rentals on site, and a life vest borrowing station.
There are some boat in only sites that are more widely scattered along the lake shore, we saw no one using them on the day we spent kayaking around the area, but they all seemed as well kept as the trailer spaces.
There's also a small dog beach next to the Cattail Cove loop trailhead, this trail is a nice, moderate 3.4 mile path that runs along the lake, then into a narrow, steep walled canyon and over some hills with no shade, but some beautiful views, before ending in a dry (at the time of my visit) riverbed. Other features include a fish cleaning station, book exchange, cactus garden (most of the plants and trees in the park have identification placards, which I really appreciate), a small amphitheater and a shop where you can buy ice, firewood, and some small souvenirs. You may even spot Pedro, the resident Great Blue Heron, who was rescued from some fishing lines, and has since made it his home.
The first time we visited this park, we were staying elsewhere, and wanted to look, but were denied permission, this cuts down on the amount of traffic in the park, which we appreciated while we stayed.
We'll definitely return here, there are other beautiful hiking trails in the area, as well as the Bill Williams River nature refuge just a few miles down the road for more wildlife and fishing/kayaking opportunities.
A must go to camping RV or tenting space! Went on labor day, full house but it didn't affect how much fun my family had. First of all, the staff is extremely friendly, like Disneyland vibes. Another plus side, they sell ice at the entrance, and it's definitely needed at temperatures 100F+. The boat launch area has 4 lanes and a small dock. The white sand beach is a great place for swim area or kayak launching. On the right side of the white beach, you can anchor your boat, jetskis or beach it for kayaks. The camp site closer to the water are much larger compared to the camp sites closer to the entrance. Literally half the size smaller. There are trees and they do provide enough shades. The restrooms are clean with showers inside.
Conclusion: it's a lot better to camp and launch your boat and jetskis here than launching closer to lake havasu city. It beats 90min waiting just to launch, here you will only have to wait less than 5mins if there is even a line. If you don't plan to launch a boat or jetskis, it's still an amazing place to camp with the family vibe, and great addition of the staff. It's clean, quiet and they provide water and electric outlets.
This is the cleanest park around! Bathrooms with showers are excellent. They have activities for the kids and rental canoes for adults. Amphitheater and great hiking trails around the park. Fire rings and they also carry wood and ice. Rangers are great people. Highly recommended for your next vacation.
Not much space between campsites, hard to stake down a tent in rocky sites; however those were the only cons. The staff were incredible, very friendly and helpful. The beach was quiet and not crowded at all in October. Restrooms were very clean. Awesome night skies, Milky Way was clearly visible!
Great camp spot for sure! Quiet but friendly. Full hookups for anything you need.
Omg!! It's a hide away in paradise! Mostly Locals!! So they keep it very clean and do not allow anyone to Trash the place! So beautiful!! Awesome day out there on Labor day weekend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was a surprise to us! We've been boondocking for a few days and wanted to get some electricity and recharge. What a beautiful park. It's well maintained and the lake was a bonus.
The bath houses are cleaned daily, the pump out was easy and they have a nice water station to fill up your gallon jugs.
Very manicured park and camping sites. The park is away from a very busy highway #95, on the Colorado River. Beautiful variety of trees on every site with its name labeled. Washrooms tidy and clean with hot showers. We will certainly come again!
We were cruising down 95 just taking a scenic drive and found the entrance to Cattail Cove State Park and decided to check it out. It does cost to get in because it is a state park, but it was well worth the $15 for the day. The view was beautiful. There are several hiking trails or maybe it was just one that wound around. Not sure because we didn't make the whole trail. We just hiked up to the highest point and enjoyed the view. If you are in the Lake Havasu City area on the Arizona side I would definitely check it out. There is a boat or watercraft ramp and a smaller white sandy beach. There is a picnic area at the beach and a playground for the kids. There are public restrooms as well. There is also a camp ground. Not sure how much camping is, but it would be well worth it.
Beautiful, clean, spacious campsites. Construction during the week we were there, so had to listen to dozer beeping from 6:30-4 everyday. Unfortunately, all the trails were closed as well. Will plan a return trip to check out the dog park when it opens back up.
Amazing campground. Right on the lake and easy access to the water. The bathrooms were only area for improvement, there was no ventilation and very musty. Otherwise the spots are large with big trees.
Nice state park with a small beach and a very small dog beach. A lot quieter than up the road at Lake Havasu SP, which is nice. The one major downside is that we didn't get any cell service at all on T-Mobile. I think you can get ATT but not sure about Verizon. Rangers are very nice!!
Beautiful, clean state park. Friendly, helpful staff. (Hi Bob!) Scenic hiking path accessible from the park with a choice to hike a 1, 2, or 3 mile loop. Power and water at the sight and dump station at the exit. Gift shop with the expected goodies, firewood for $7. A free book exchange near the fish cleaning station. Even a mini “educational” garden with different plant species. They rake the spots before you arrive! White sand on the beach. Lovely.
We have been camping at this campground for years, summer and fall. It is a lively place to visit. The rangers and work staff are friendly, and the group ds are well maintained. Love this place!
Great state park. Paradise hidden in this state. You can RV park and camp. Boating, Fishing, Swimming. Handicap parking and accessibility.
Shaded Picnic tables. Small hikes. Pet Friendly hike trails with a Dog Beach. Pet hitching post. There are showers and restrooms [If you have your own camper, use your own shower & restroom] Soda Vending Machines. Day use parking. Also, you can learn how to camp at this Arizona State Park. COVID-19 COMPLIANT. WEAR MASK. NO SMOKING. Loved this place.
Cattail cove is a great little place to recharge for the night. 35 bucks gets you a place with water in power. Huge spaces and plenty of shade for the RV. We had a great time on the trails and found a couple of Easter eggs. Two tiny beaches are currently open. The main beach has plenty of nice sand anb places to eat and sit.
Spent a few nights here with our travel trailer. Nice campground. Staff is friendly and willing to assist with other things. I wish they had sewer connections at the camp sites but the dump station was easy accessible on our way out. great state park with a nice beach on the river.
I could go on and on about this place. It has everything you would want from a campground period. Hiking, bathrooms, beach, dog park, boat launch, Ice cream and great little campsites whoever is running this gig is on top of there game Cheers to you and i will be back.
Great beach for little kids. There's not a lot of wakes here. The swim area is peeble and shell but not bad to wall on. There is a large amphitheater and fishcleaning station. The camp grounds are equipped with firepits. The restrooms were very clean. If you're just going swimming this is probably one of the best spots to visit.
Only spent 1 night here so didn't do much exploring. That said beautiful location on the lake. Great sand beach, loved the separate dog beach and trails up into the hillsides. Bathrooms were okay.
Really nice very quiet the Rangers are super super super nice very helpful very clean bathroom The ramp to put my vote in was pretty good does not have a Dog to walk on when you put the boat in the water but that's OK..
Beautiful hike along the water! Easy to park and take you to the well groomed trails. They offer a variety of hikes that take you around the park. It was very peaceful as there wasn’t too many people on the trail. The coves were enchanting and the water was clear blue. We found a spot where you could walk through some rocks. The one thing to be cautious of is parking fees. It’s $15 for the day - try to plan on spending the day or at least a few hours there. They offer tent camping, RV spots with electric, RV dump station and a boat ramp.
Really nice place to come and relax. It's a little small, and parking near the water is limited, but nice when you get there.
We Love this place. Tucked in a Cove just like the name says! Beautiful hiking trails and views from most all directions. Clear views of mountains and deep blue water. Very good fishing and boating here. Fish cleaning stations, clean restrooms and showers.
Spaces are amongst trees and there is ample room for parking. No problem getting a signal if you have a satellite dish. Picnic tables, fire pits and views! You cant beat it for the price!
One of our favorites!
The park rangers greet you with a smile and friendly banter. The campsite area is very clean, and the beach area is pristine. The hilly trails follow the Colorado River and then loop back into the hills. The spring cactus and flower bloom starts in mid- March and is spectacular.
Fantastic Customer Service! Everyone was so friendly & knowledgeable. We have put them on our want to stay list for next year when we are back in the area. Facilities we extremely clean. Loved all of the labeling of the plants. The layout was extremely accessable.
Great state park, people were very nice. Don't expect cell service unless you are with Verizon
Beautiful, clean and quiet park. Absolutely love the dog beach!
Beautiful beach, the dog park is an awesome touch as well.
Excellent camp. Away from the busy tourist traps and city but close enough to go in for dinner or shopping. They have an awesome dog park with dog beach. You can easily spend the day there enjoying it with your four-paw.
If you have a boat, head right along the shore and you'll find some awesome little beaches. Going left is all rock faces before you hit the dam.
Amazing camp site, people and they had a special bathroom for our son who is special needs. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable!! Place is clean and so are the restrooms. Awesome staff!
Been coming here for 25+ years and gets better everytime we come. Clean well kept and amazing on-site staff.
Very clean park. Nice bathrooms with showers. Sites are close together but roomy. Full electrical plugs. Decent shade and right off the water.
A beautiful, well-maintained campground with clean restrooms and an awesome beach for swimming. I will definitely be back soon!
Great place to just get away from everything, but god forbid if you need any kind of signal. Also didn't help that it hit 112-113 degrees while we were there lol. Also aren't allowed to hook a dog lead to a tree here.
Couldn't get a single signal reliably here at all. I was on a working vacation over labor day and could not get Dat connections on either my T-mobile hotspot, or my Verizon phone. Even had several calls drop or never initiate at all. And finally tried to pick up local TV channels and scanned exactly 0.
Wonderful and quiet place to camp!! We would definitely stay there again. Cell service was good through Verizon.
Really great camp site! Everything is well maintained. The beach is great. Really good experience.
Looks nice! It is is a busy season now. A lot of RVs here. Large parking space for boating.
A great spot, pristine and quiet. Great for small kids as well. They have a seporate dog beach too.
Nice state park. Sandy beach on the Colorado River. In addition to the main beach, there is also a dog beach for your pooch. A boat launch area is also there. We notice RV hookups
A very nice park.
Youll need reservations, its a highly sought park
Close enough to all services in Lake Havasu City AZ
Lovely trails and beach for family. 15 bucks isn't much for a family to be able to spend a day put there.
Pretty good rv camping, caters to dogs with a dog park and dog beach. Amazing view all season long
Awesome state park, boat launch, beach. Some shade. Water in lake is clear, cool. Tiny pebbles and sand beach. We camped for 4 nights, were able to extend another 2 nights.very clean. Beach close, clean, clear water. Showers very clean. Sink area was clean. Good shower force, lots of hot water. Short drive to Lake Havasu City. Looking forward to returning, it's a great campground. Need to book in advance or rely on cancellations.
KUDOS TO THIS WONDERFUL PARK!! We were pleasantly surprised on how beautiful, well maintained this park is. Although we're seniors, this park is just perfect for young families. Great experience with Park Manager, Ronald Gayman and Lonnie Rodriguez!! This park has videos and books they lend out, great beach and trails, kayak rentals, complimentary life jackets to use, Super clean bathrooms and showers. 5 star!
Nice camping spaces a little more challenging for tent camping. Bathrooms could use more ventilation to be cooler, very clean though. Have a nice dog walking area with a dog beach.
This is a very nice park with trees, hills and very close to the lake. The rangers are friendly and helpful. Only a few spots have 50 amp, and no at site waste water, but nice facility.
Best kayak-camping experience ever..
Going back in 2 week just to get some more!!!
This place has great hiking trails, awesome views and a great sand beach. Super clean. Also has a launch ramp for boats.
Amazing little beach to hit with the family. Nearby hiking was a great way to dry off in the sun and get some excellent lake views
Excellent campground. Clean and well cared for. Highly recommend.
Beautiful setting for camping at $30.00 per night. Short distance into Lake Havasu City. But I'd rather stay at the campsite. White sand swimming beach on the Colorado River. 2 dog walking areas. One is near restrooms on leash. They even have a leashing post if you need to go into restrooms. The 2nd dog area is large, with its own beach, and they can be off leash.
Nice boat launch, with dock.
We will gladly return.
Adorable little state park.
Park was very nice had a dog beach plus a white sand beach for humans. Would definitely stay there again
Stunning spot $15 for day pass that last til 10 p.m.
Beach and little coves with the softest sand.
Big boat ramp decent amount of parking.
Hospitable host and Ranger and Scenic trails.
For half a sunset definitely memorable.
I highly recommend this park that is not tacky nor over ran with tourists...
Grounds are immaculately maintained. Bathrooms by nightfall are used but still serviceable. The beach and dog area are great. There are great little hikes to do. It’s definitely an RV campground and not designed or optimized for tenters, but a great spot nonetheless. One negative and frustrating detail is the staff wouldn’t let us look at the campground; we had to buy a day pass or pay the $30 camp fee to see if we wanted to stay there. Perhaps not a big deal when towing an RV, but what your site sits beside as a tent camper is mega important. Also, bring firewood as they charge $7.00 per small bundle. By reviews, this was the best option for camping near Lake Havasu, and I think the consensus is accurate. If we were towing an RV, we’d definitely come back, but wouldn’t return as a tent camper.
Very nice RV Park, nice swimming area. Not much area to tie your boat up so you have to take it out of the water every time.
Very impressed with this park. We have camped in over 30 state parks in the past year, and this ranks at or near the top. Clean, well kept, and lots to do on and around the lake. Sites are relatively level. Only negative, no sewer, but they do have a very accessible dump station.
Had a great time, big sites, friendly Hosts, Very clean
This park is very quiet and enjoyable. We Lake Havasu, especially the southern end of it where Cattail Cove is located. It's obvious the Rangers and maintenance crew take pride in their work here. Looking forward to the new park expansion soon.
Great for spending some time on a white beach beside the lake. Good for SUP if it isn't windy. Nice boat ramp for boaters. Hike along the shore. RV sites are packed pretty close together. Good ATT and Verizon. Watch for hummingbirds in the winter.
We had an awesome time with our family and friends here. Our 1st time there. July is really hot there. But we just stayed in the water. Amazing time
Really beautiful and clean park. The staff is very friendly.
Friendly efficient staff. Nice space and amenities but why clean toilets and not the floors in the washrooms. They are disgusting!’n.
Very nice park. Great hiking trails at several distances, swimming, fishing. Kayaking and boating. Kayak rentals avaliable. Sites have electric and potable water, many with shade trees. Public showers also avaliable. Very friendly staff and volunteers. Highly recommended. We were here mid April and weather was great!
Perfect little getaway for families! We have 9 young kids in our group. The staff was very friendly! Bathrooms and showers were clean! An overall great experience! Will definitely return!! Rented kayaks for cheap and had a blast!
Great campground with dog “beach”, human beach, and beautiful hiking trail along the river. Our only complaint is the customer service. We paid to camp and we’re told to be out of our campsite by noon the next day. We needed to finish up work for a couple of hours after leaving our campsite so we pulled into a back lot by the boat ramp which was wide open and only had about 3 other trucks parked there. Not 5 minutes after parking we were hastily created by an unfriendly employee who demanded that we leave immediately or pay a second day use fee, even though we have purchased a week Arizona state parks pass from another park the day prior. I find it silly to pay for a campground and not be able to hang around the following day.
Loved this location. Peaceful and clean. Nice area if you are looking for little sand and quick access to water.
Great park and very clean. Showers are clean and large
cattail cove is beautiful, clean and the staff are top notch. we've already booked our next trip.
Big rig friendly. Quiet and clean. Will stay there again.
An oasis in the desert! We are halfway through our week here and having a great time! We have enjoyed swimming, paddling, hiking (with dogs!) and met and hung out with other campers and had a great time!
We had to change sites a couple times to be able to stay a full week since we didn’t reserve far in advance but the rangers were super helpful in making that easy for us! Sites aren’t the biggest state park sites we’ve had but not the smallest, and really well kept.
My space was very large and close to everything. Beautiful walking paths lots of scenery to enjoy. Bathrooms very well kept, grounds very nice. Nice sandy beach with covered picnic tables. Very quiet place after 9 p.m..
Update returned 2 more visits since my first I have been in 2 more spaces and they too had superb views of sunrises and red rock hills all around.
Small shore for swimming. Many camping spots and several picnic tables close to the beach. Very clean.
The staff are always cleaning the area. Patrolling around to assist with any needs and make sure no one is getting crazy. It's isolated enough that the water front is not crowded.
Nice quiet campground. Several hiking loops, easy to moderate.
Beautiful white sand beach! Nice campground with lots of shade trees! Clean bathrooms/showers with potable water/hook ups.
We had only seen signs from the road. We went in not knowing what to expect. There is a $10 fee to get in. Ok, not so bad, but the park is very small and several ( at least 3) areas are closed. Not worth the money unless you really want to spend the day on the beach. However, it is very clean and it might be a nice place to camp.
We love this place. Nice, clean affordable.
Amazing place for hiking, super fun with the family and or friends
Great place, very clean and well maintained camp grounds.
Awesome place!!! There is a Swim area roped of for the kids Nice and shallow soft sand nice Showers and bathrooms Easy to get into the RV spots
Very nice AZ state park. Construction on going with new site development. Hiking, boating. Clean rest rooms. Overflow area @ $20 per night. $32 per night with w/e hookup. We stayed four nights in a 23' Airstream (March 2020)..
It was so beautiful! The sites are all very well and beautifully maintained. The sites were all very close to each other. Almost all sites were not level side to side but easily managed. Being close turned out to be a great thing as all the neighbors could all stay in their own sites but have fun wonderful conversations with each other while socially distancing! The mountain and lake views were fantastic. Extremely pet friendly. Bathrooms were very clean and also very well maintained. Plenty of hiking trails too. We had a great time!!
Great place to launch our boat. Nice camp area.
Quiet, clean, friendly staff ,beautiful place to visit
We just went to see what it looked like and what a hidden jem! Huge parking area for boat trailers and hikers. 3 trails to walk. Dog park area with seating and trees. Boat launch, dock, beach area, amphitheater for gatherings and entertainment, hook ups for RVs. Would love to spend a week here!!
Great place to relax. Very peaceful
Awesome. Clean. Just member to bring closer shade for the water.
Pretty secluded place away from Lake Havasu. The camp sites had lots of utilities including a plug! Spacious campsites as well. Pretty nice
Just arrived today and kinda tired, but walked around property anyway. Exceptionally clean, very dog and kid friendly, boat launch. Think there's a campfire ban right now, and that's understandable with high fire danger and winds. Overall I'd rate it a 10+. Nice white sandy beach.
We stay here for a week every October. It's beautiful, family friendly and the rangers are always awesome! Will continue to visit every year.
Best state park around lake havasu.
The park is beautiful well-maintained and very clean. Showers are awesome. The staff is outstanding.
Definitely would recommend this park to anyone was a great experience.
Love being on the water! Swimming relaxing on the sand, takeing the dog to the dog beach! It was great!,
Lots of fun. Clean beach. Bathrooms and drinking fountain with cold water. Trees for shade as well.
Nice park with good beach and improvements to facilities. No dumps at sites and limited places to load pets on boats.
Excellent condition, clean, friendly. They have a book and dvd share. GREAT hiking. Beautiful views. Soda machine and ice!
Perfect get away! Very clean, friendly staff.
Love this camp ground.... We've had many great memories here. Now that the trees are mature and more people come year around, they have expanded the amenities to make this park even better.
Some of the amenities: Cute movie theater (they show movies during summer), fish house, 2 shower houses (which are clean and have nice showers and restrooms), and game areas throughout, like corn whole and horseshoes. There are tables at all the camp sites and firepits, as well as water and plug in for RVs and trailers. (They have black water dump area, I believe free if you are staying there). The sites are big and the camp ground allows dogs, but they need to be on leash at all times. (Unfortunately, no digs allowed on the beach water front area.) They have a nice big buoyed swim area as well as tables with covers at the lake (no pets at this section).
Last but not least, the staff is wonderful and they are all long time workers and will try to help with anything they can and are extremely nice and respectful. If I could, i would give this park 10 stars.
Excellent place to go camping especially.
Love this state park!
Always fresh and tasty 😋 …
very clean and friendly staff. We have stayed there 3 times and look forward to many more
One of our favorite places to stay! The rangers here are super friendly and do what they can to accommodate all guest. The bathroom/showers are always clean and maintained as are all of the camp sites. During the spring there are a lot of campers that stay 30-60 days and are always friendly. Very quiet at night.
It's a very clean "beach" area, definitely a place for the family to spend the day or camp out.
One of the cleanest and well maintained parks we have had the pleasure of staying at on more than one occasion. The lake and surroundings are gorgeous!
Best cove on the lake! Secluded, bathrooms, picnic tables, place to park your boat, and calm Waters to play in!
Small little swimming area, a boat ramp. Some sand, picnic and camping too.
Fun for the family. Clean and has everything you need besides shelter you bring that yourself lol. Staff is friendly. And just an awesome place
We had a great time exploring the shoreline by kayak south of Cattail Cove State Park.
Friendly quiet clean please can't wait to go back the beach was beautiful the water was refreshing my son loved it and I did too thank you for the nice welcome the staff was so friendly I lost my glasses but I found them the next day so thank you very much
This is a pretty lake side camp site. We did our first RV trip with three kids and four adults to this campsite and enjoyed a lot. The camp sites are close but that was never a bother as all the campers were really good and friendly, and we had a feeling of living in a small pretty village. The bathroom (includes shower) and utility facilities were well maintained and outstanding. There is also a fish cleaning station and a small library! The nearest city is of course Lake Havasu city is 12 miles away.
Arizona has fantastic state parks. This one did not disappoint.
They have kayak and SUP board rentals. Life jackets are available for short term use as well.
So big and clean. Campsites very nice. Beach and kayak rentals. Had a great time!
The regular campground was full so we stayed in the overflow area. The spaces were long enough that we didn't have to unhook the trailer. Always a plus when only staying overnight. The staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. The scenery was beautiful. We had an awesome view of the lake and the sunset. There are several hiking trails around the park. They even had a 'dog beach' that had a picnic table and bbq, which I thought was cool. I would definately stay here again.
This is a well maintained state park that gives you water access on a maintained beach. There's a secondary dog beach (pets aren't allowed on the main beach) that gives the dog a chance to do some swimming too. Bathrooms are clean, showers are available, dish sink available. There were several jack rabbits that are obviously used to people and came up within 5 feet of me - this had my dog captivated and perfectly still for minutes at a time just hoping his leash was 5 feet longer!
Nice and hot ,like the tree signs identifying the species
Was a nice place to visit. Took my dogs to the little dog beach area which is to the left of the boat ramp. They also had a regular beach area to the right of the boat ramp. Park rangers were very nice. Has camping spots as well.
We had a beautiful little camping spot not too far from the human beach. I absolutely adore that they have a dog beach it made the stay well worth it as we we're traveling with two dogs!!!! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and our spot was noted and reserved upon arrival so we didn't even have to exit our vehicle!!!!! I will definitely be returning here very very soon!!!!
We love this park. The swimming beach is clean and family oriented. The little extras like the life vest loan station, kayak rack, wagon loan stations, vegetation name plates are all nice touches. The water is clear and the grounds are virtually trash free. Great job State Parks Dept. !!
Beautiful & clean. Only negatives are that they charge an additional $15 to use the dump station, even if already paying for campsite, and very difficult to bank fish. Nice boat launch, though.
Gorgeous trails!!! Very clean.
Nicely kept park with a small beach area. Campsite spots are fairly small with very very few having any view of the water. It is more like an RV Park than a State Park environment. Very hard to make reservations unless you do so a year ahead.
From the moment we checked in, we felt welcome. The park was so clean, boat launch was in good shape, and so many private coves to explore on the water. Most had their own portable potty, BBQ, picnic table and a trash receptacle. We'll be back.
Always enjoy going to Cattail Cove for summer vacation. Staff and Rangers are always nice and respectful.
Looking forward to staying at the new RV section soon as it opens.
Great quiet location even during spring break craziness. The lots are pretty close together but that should be expected in a place with such high demand. Great clean bathrooms with running water and showers. Would be five stars if my unrealistic desire of more space was here. Pretty close to the water could see it from my tent.
Great place for an rv gathering. Staff was so helpful and friendly. Clean restrooms and well groomed. Really nice camp hosts and the overall environment was great for water sports, hiking, photography, etc. Very scenic. And not far from Lake Havasu City!
Very clean campgrounds and we saw wild mountain Rams while there! Wonderful place to come to.
Another year, another visit, cleanest , friendly staff, beautiful views, majestic
This was the best RV camp site my husband and I have ever stayed at. They welcomed our two large/ nice dogs and even had a dog run ready for them. The park was so clean and cared for. The caretakers/park rangers were very helpful in any questions or need we might have. We will always stay at this park when in the area.
Great time, clean, pretty, easy in and out parking. Fishing the Colorado River and hiking is first class. One drawback was the price ($30 per night) being a little high when no sewer connections available, saying that, the dump station, on the way out, is one of the cleanest and easiest we have ever used. We plan on spending more time here when temps moderate.
Beautiful park, quiet, clean and beautiful view so sorry we only had one night and moved to Lake Havasu State Park, way to much boat noise.
Really nice campground, great weather and cold lake to cool down. Great facilities.
Great views. Quiet park and exceptionally clean.
Clean, quiet great family park!
Very nice place.will go back one Day.
It was our first time at Cattail and we booked another week as soon as we got home. Everybody was friendly, good prices for RV camping, beautiful / well kept park, and the dump station was nice, which is included in the fee. Stayed over the new year and we'll be back in April.
This spot near Lake Havasu was quiet during my visit with a breathtaking view of the California side of the lake. Friendly park staff and reasonable park fees. The grounds are pet friendly and has a park for dogs to play.
The beach is sand and maintained daily by the park staff.
Absolutely the best state park of any state we have been in. An amazing dog park. Clean spacious sites
Quite, cozy, beautiful, easy trails, great place for the grand kids..
This is a great park and campground on Lake Havasu. There are lots of trees in the campground and a white sand beach with tables and shade ramadas. There's a designated swimming area, multi lane boat launch and hiking trails. The park and restrooms are always clean.
What a wonderful spot. The rangers are ding such a great job!
Cattail Cove is one of our favorite launch ramp areas for Lake Havasu. It's further south towards the dam and has less traffic. Purchase your yearly pass from this site and they will benefit from it. It's always good to help the sites you enjoy. Stay safe out there.
Very clean, very helpful staff. Great experience. Good Verizon signal.
Great place to bring the family. Clean and quiet, very relaxing. Perfect place to launch your boat and not have a hassle of all the city traffic.
Great hidden campground. Small, with little sandy beach, great for kids. Not crowded. Beach little rocky, many mosquitos. Overall wonderful place.
Very nice, well kept campground. Wish the beach for dogs were a bit larger. Great place to look at nice boats and jet skiis 😊 …
Good place to swim and chill for day use.
I was very impressed with the cleanliness and the staff professionalism. The park rangers are extremely helpful, informative, and cheerful. The seamless operations at the launch ramp were damn near perfect. If only that guy wouldn't have lost his car into the lake with his little girl inside.... 🤦♂️🤷♂️🤙👌👏 …
Fantastic place to stay. We are enjoying our stay here. They have a dog friendly beach and trails. The campground is extremely clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The shower room was clean and water was hot.
Great sites, nice location
Absolutely beautiful for camping, RVing, boating!!! Beautiful state park! Clean and well maintenanced. Separate dog beach and people beach.
Great state park. Nice launch ramp. Far less crowds and good access to the lower end of the lake
Would have given 5 stars but fishing tournament people were loud . The man next to me he was in 31 was very nice let me use a chair and gave me a cup of coffee in the morning. Lady's that check people in were very nice. Beautiful place.
Nice clean friendly place. Great dog areas and beach.
Super clean, friendly staff, gorgeous place! Also not crowded.
Beautiful camping sites with shade trees! Unheard of in Arizona! Very real kept and very reasonable prices!!! Will be back!
Was very well kept neat and clean facilities easy Access to the boat launch and well lit around dusk
Quiet, accessible, large spaces, river access. What's not to like.
State park with nice amenities including a boat ramp, fish cleaning station, ampitheatre, hiking trails, sandy beach, and a dog beach.
Power and water hookups. No TV or sewer or wifi. (There is a dump station, but watch your tankage as that water hookup is real handy)
Very nice and clean showers and restrooms.
Park itself is very nice and clean... friendly good staff.
Heck, hate to mention the place, it is so nice. Indeed, reservations are recommended.
What a serene place to simply relax. We shall visit here again.
This is really a very nice park . The lay out is been thought out not just some trees and grass with a beach. There is a place to picnic,a place to have actives ,plus a place to sit and watch the sunset. There is something for everyone to do here . Enjoy your stay.
Very nice campground! Away from all the fuss and people. Sites do not have their own dump so you have to use their dump station. But we loved it!
Staff and park was amazing well kept and views where incredible.
What a beautiful well kept park! The staff is wonderful and very helpful! We will surely return!
A very nice park and a camprgound. Clean Bathrooms, shower, dish washing station, sites with water and electric. Partially shaded, mostly RV crowd. Boat launch, kayak rental. Hiking trails.
Beautiful spot. Timeless fun. Come for adventure, make some memories. Good for families, fun, dates.
One of the best RV parks you will ever find on the Colorado River .Clean , quiet and scenery second to none .
Super friendly and helpful staff. Very well maintained park. Great beach. Very quiet. Will definitely stay there again.
It's easy to get a boat in and out BUT beware of the edge of the dock. There is a long chunk of fender missing and my boat got scraped! Disappointed in spite of Arizona being a covid hotspot that no employees were wearing masks! Beautiful location and only 30mins from Havasu City.
It was wonderful!! Note to folks using a propane store be sure to remove the hose and store it in car tent, anywhere but outside as the raccoons will eat it!
Nice, clean campground. Bathrooms are decently clean. Staff was rude and unhelpful. Stop sign at building, no one ever came out and the door that said open was locked. No help with directions. Second day I didn't stop at stop sign and I got chewed out.
Nice from what I could see. I wanted to check out the campground before booking reservation. Person at gate very unfriendly. She told me to drive through on main road, not to go through the campsites and not to leave the car. Don't think that is anyway to promote the park.
We had a great time. They have life jackets to borrow along with wagons to cart you stuff to the beach. A very clean, pretty place to camp.
Came here to let my dog swim and play on the dog friendly beach. Nice park and not crowded while we were there. Watch out for thorns and spikey plants on the ground. Stepped on quite a few.
Great place camp and enjoy the outdoors. Rangers are so helpful. Highly recommend this state park
Really a great place to camp on the water. Real nice roped off swimming area, boat dock, launch ramp. The showers and bathrooms are very clean and well maintained.
Great location and clean park! BEAUTIFUL!
Must call ahead to reserve .0
We were going to stay here for a few days and go swimming. Unfortunately if the park rangers were as interested in people not obeying the park rules like all dogs on a leash, people playing LOUD music degredading the USA, smoking pot and other forms of drugs, wearing clothing to cover up their discusting bodies to total nudity, as theyare about allowing you to take your dog swimming with you, it would be a nice park like it used to be. Believe me friends, DO NOT TAKE YOUR YOUNG CHILDREN TO THIS PARK, untill the State replaces the State People Working There!
Perfect, really- perfect. Water and electric hook up. Dump station. Boat launch, tie up for canoe. Boat, swim, fish. Well maintained with nice trees (labeled to help we northerners. ) Friendly and highly efficient park staff, superior hosts. Book swap. Hot, clean showers. Hiking trails. Close to Parker and Lake Havasu--lots to do.
Awesome.....great quiet small restful spot away from the partiers....hope to keep it this way
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cattail Cove. We do believe that the hiking trails could be labeled better. With multiple trails intersecting at various points, we hiked quite an additional distance, which we were not prepared for.
It was January when we were here, it was chilly and quite windy, but the place was real nice. Lots of trails to explore, and the washrooms had free hot showers. Free hot showers!!
Always so clean and well groomed here. They obviously take pride in their park.
Beautiful! Great trails, nice amenities. Plus the staff is wonderful!
Perfect family style camping beach and low-key launch facility. Avoid the in-town crowds. Very clean and well laid out.
Peaceful place to take your family.
Very nice staff and a very quiet and easy place to launch your boat, prefer it over the main marina if staying near pumping station for the day. They offer you trash bags, again so nice.
Love their dog beach and trails. Only stayed 1 night, a bit pricey, but beautiful views and l was very close to beaches.
Very nice park, great showers. Sites are close together but still have privacy. Great hiking trail along the Colorado river.
Great place, restrooms and showers always clean, they also have a dog beach which we enjoyed whit our furry family, no connection with internet but phones worked good ( sprint), I recommend this place
Small, yet perfect day use and camping. Kind rangers working there, clean, clean picnic and swimming area, showers and bathroom. Great fishing!
Great clean place. I didn't get cell phone crevice. Showers and restrooms clean and full hook ups. Great boatlaunch. With dock.
Very helpful with boat launching, parking and getting you back to ur vehicle!
Great hiking trails around the river. Lots of hills and turns. Scenic views and the water in the coves are crystal clear.
The only spot to camp is overflow parking, good luck getting a site. Very nice secluded area, be very quiet tho, you can hear everything around here
It was nice it was quiet I just pulled out my lounge chair got a book read the book listen to music it was nice enjoyable afternoon
Very nice park great views very clean, could use better hookups, but still can't wait to go back for a week in February
What a place. Heaven on earth. White beach, shade trees, boat ramp, dog park, hiking trails, friendly rangers, large camping spots, clean bathrooms and showers, one half hour from town turn left, one half hour to parker turn right.
Nice state park on Havasu Lake. It has a swimming beach that's good for kids and a boat launch. Camp sites are nicely space and well maintained.
We went to park and camp for the night. The lady was very rude when we got to the park. We ended up staying further in town. They do have an RV dump station, kinda pricey at 15 bucks.
Great spot. Close to the water. Beautiful sites. Plenty of room.
Wonderful place to stay we always go on the offseason when there's not a lot of people there we take her book down to the shopping area always have fun staying there and his nice cuz you don't have to pull your boat out every time you're there you can leave it in the water of course tied up and it's safe and the bathrooms are amazing accommodate me as I am disabled they are large and they have seats and at least one of my jobs can come in with me and at times both help me I would recommend Cattail Cove State Park you'll enjoy your stay
Nice campground. Very clean with lots of trees and wildlife. Love the dog beach and the short trails surrounding the park.
Very well taken care of little spot. It's tucked into the hills and has trees that offer protection from the wind. Be sure to check out the hikes in the area
Very nice state park, has a nice beach, boat ramp, and hiking trails. The scenery here is fantastic, worth the visit.
It was the Desert
Storm WEEKEND
HAD a Great time than other than the typical Wind.
Nice campground. Shady spots. Clean bathrooms and showers. The staff was very nice
It was so clean and had all the necessities for a great camping adventure. The trails and nature was awesome.
Grest place to come with RV for camping or day stay. We trailed to a site and stayed to fish.
I highly recommend this awesome camp ground friendly worker's willing to help you with anything. Also very clean grounds easy launch ramp.
It's a good place to camp but there are a ton of bugs and biting flies.
Beautiful park, has a small beach and a beach for dog's. Very clean rest rooms.
Been coming here for years and never had a bad experience. It's clean and the rangers are friendly and helpful.
Nice small park boat landing but have to dic boat away from beach area again small beach area can have bbq clean park camping showers clean affordable!
Really liked this place compared to some of the other campsites. Nice shade yes
Great park. Clean restrooms, nice private beach, great lakeshore hiking to private coves.
Very nice quiet, well maintained park.
Would definitely stay there again
This park is expanding. Reserve a year in advance. The park Rangers keep a close watch on the facilities. Beautiful beach area.
Sites are not level at all and it took a lot of effort to even try and get half level
Also the way the rv spots are angled difficult to get much shade
Not much of rv spots they are just lined up in skinny rows
No wifi and it is ways from lake havashu city and parker
Trail along lake has some nice views that is the best part of the park
I just folks would get over their paronia about dogs as they limit dog area to very small and rocky dog beach area
No fenced dog area to encourage their dogs to run free and visit with other dogs
Folks at ranger store and gift shop very nice
There are much better Arizona state parks than this one
This is the Best secret on the river. Wonderful spaces & people. We have been camping there for years & plan to continue.
Clean. Good swimming area. Nice launch. Not busy at all today (Friday). We'll see how it is on Saturday.
Very clean well keep campgrounds nice stuff.
This Arizona state park is well maintained with nice trees, clean sites and good beach. A great deal for the money.
Nice campground ,well maintained, sites are not level, so bring extra leveling wood or whatever.
Gorgeous place, very clean, staff very friendly. They take great pride in this gem of an RV park on Havasu
Friends from California were staying there and it was my first time. Great State Park. Good boat ramp and facilities.
Dropped in and found this place blind. Ill be back. With a boat. Close to good bike trails at Havasu and Sara Park. Nice showers.
Had a great time, easy launch and the fishing was fantastic
Great place if you have a huge loaf of an RV. Wildly overpriced if you have a tent. Clean, hot showers and a trucked-in white sand beach.
Beautiful camp grounds. Well maintained.
Off the beaten path
, quiet state park, but the volunteer was kind of bossy. Well-treed and an amazing sand beach.
Great people, nice hiking trails, easy boat access, very clean; it's a beautiful park!
A good spot to launch your boats and jet skis. We were in the water all day. I would definitely be back again.
Best state park in havasu area. Nice beaches and not crazy like many parks. Boat ramp is crazy slippery though.
Came off Lake Havasu to eat lunch on the beach, walked around a couple of minutes afterwards. Very nice area, particularly the scenic background.
Always a pleasure here, clean, with great dog beach, hiking trails, views, staff is great, this is our 5th trip Cattail.
The cove was great, the host, not so much! Grumpy, weird, hippy that literally peeked at you from behind rv curtains, lol funny now but wasn't then since you pay to go...
Loved staying here, just wish easier to get in! Everybody wants to stay.
Very clean and picturesque. Plenty of walking trails and sizable RV pads.
Great access to Lake Havasu and the Colorado River. Simply beautiful
We've been coming here for about 4 years. We love the area, it's quiet, clean, with nice camp sites.
Great clean showers and bathrooms, excellent for car camping even in the over flow area, It's worth the $20.
Haven't gotten to stay in park actually but we did stay in the over flow area and it was very nice, will go back again
Introduced to this place by my s.o.'s family. In love with this location. Quiet family area. Definitely a nice area for those who are not the party type.
Great launch area to avoid the crowd and traffic. Well maintained roads and parking lots and helpful staff.
Amazing place to camp. Even more fun if you have a boat of any type
Awesome well maintained park. Nice shaded spots. Great beach.
We go every year best spot ever
Nice campsites overlooking white sand beach and beautiful water
Very nice park, clean and well set up. Sites are uneven, but easy to fix.
Loved camping and mooring the boat right at the beach! No real camp store, but you could get a couple of things and ice.
Best stay with our 5th wheel and two large dogs. Clean, nice people that run the park.
Absolutely beautiful and lots of fun. Beautiful camping area
Beautiful place great afternoon watching the boats come in and soaked up some sunshine while husband fished.

The best kept secret for your RV or boat.
Right on the lake. Great showers, trails and a dog beach
Dog beach. One has to reserve a site at least one year in advance. Too bad. Oh well. Maybe next time I come by this way.
Water,sand and playground. Can't complain 😌 👌 …
