Reviews of Buckskin Mountain State Park
Cherie Koerber
While there were no camp spots available we were able to dry camp. We had a great view. The park was super clean and the people working were incredibly welcoming. Quiet throughout the evening. Got a recommendation for dinner at crossroads Cafe in nearby Parker. Fantastic.
MICHAEL ALLEN
Very nice park. Extremely clean, friendly staff and the views around you are awesome. The price is in line with other parks, but I haven't seen other parks as clean as this one. Will definitely be back there.
Wendy Davies
We only stayed here for 1 night but it was a beautiful place to be. Sites were paved for the trailer and fire pits were available. The bathrooms were clean and had dish washing sinks connected to the outside. The campground was quiet even though it was full. Cell service was not available for my phone but wifi was accessible near the day use area. The cost was reasonable. I really enjoyed the cactus Garden.
Cherie Koerber
Hot showers, great water pressure. Pulled in without a reservation, and was given a dry camp spot in their day use area. Fine by us. Got a tip for a casual dinner and slept great!!
DeAnn Blandford
Awesome park! Friendly staff, good facilities, well maintained sites. River access is awesome and the views are amazing! We met lots of nice people. Cell phone signal was spotty but that was okay by us. The only negative was "neighbors" who played very loud music, had two flood lights off the back of their trailer that lit up the entire area, yelled at their kids who were down on the bank from their spot, talked loudly using profanity and smoked some very foul smelling pot - all up until 1am. It's not the park's fault that people are inconsiderate but enforcement of quiet hours would be a major plus.

We had a good time in this place, clean, very peaceful place, excellent for the whole family with a beautiful river with clean water, just rent you parking spot, bring your Mobil home or rent one, if you forget something at home, don't worry about it, it's Walmart about 3 miles and a gas station with small minimarket at 1mile, bring your jet ski or boat and the whole river is yours just conquer the river😏😏 I hope we come back soon, this place is wonderful 👍 for calm your mind, body, and soul, I strongly recommend this place, it took us 3½hours from LA. Be always safe!!!
Michael Teague
Love this place! One of the best State Parks we have ever been too. Excellent location on the river with great Rv spots throughout the park.
Jim Cenname
A beautifully cared for park on the edge of the Colorado River. Raked gravel at the sites, clean bathrooms, smooth paved driveways, green grass, big leafy trees, (poor ATT cell service). There's a boat launch too.
Lonny Linton
A great place to camp and recreate! The activity's
Involved were stellar! Nice showers and bathrooms! Nice golf course and the Colorado River! Road Runner bar for lunch! Lake Havasu
For sights, London Bridge, shops and eateries!
Roadtripdave
I've had many people say wild donkeys are in the area and to pay attention for them for they walk down sometime in the center of the road. As I got closer to the Parker dam low and behold three donkeys walking on the side of the road. I slowed the car down to a stop and took a few pictures of them. They looked extremely healthy and looked clean. It was cool to see how cool calm and collected they were. If your New to the area like me drive on down and see if you can find some. It was interesting to see for the first time.

Great State Park to Camp. Very well maintained Campground, the state park employees take great care of the facility and are always very friendly. They have 30/50 amp hookups with water and a dump station.
Michele Wilson
We really enjoyed this state park. Dog friendly, beautiful views and great staff. We were on a full hookups site with a great view of the river.
LJ's ChopShop
I want to thank all the Rangers and staff members for the absolutely best experience even when my truck broke down in the driveway.
Buckskin will be on our family's must go spots for years to come.
My only negative is I wish they had 50 & 30 amp hookups at all sites.
Beaches are great and wildlife was awesome from Beavers to Owls.
Once again thank you all for everything.
Jimin Roger
A lovely little river beach. It was $10 for a day use pass, and it was worth it! The water is clean, sand soft, and dog-friendly. Definitely worth a 35 minute drive when visited Lake Havasu City. They even have a off leash dog area. There were some flies that bite, so a bug spray might be a good idea.
Jon Stewart
This is one of our favorite camp spots. Not too far from PHX. Access to the river. Clean campgrounds and facilities. Popular campground. Make your reservations early.
James A. Gidiyup
Absolutely I love the place not real fond of the odor. Smells like a bad sewer system. However we parked right against the river I had an enjoyable experience walked around and took the hike up the mountain. I was suggest anybody wanting to do dry docking to come here.
Radio DNB
This Arizona State Park is in a beautiful location on the Colorado River! It has excellent beach & launch facilities. The grounds are great. Lots of lawns & trees. I give my review 5 stars with one caveat. The park has placed it's wastewater treatment facility right on the Southwest corner of the campsites! You do not want to stay in sites 12 thru 23. The prevailing wind blows the odor from the wastewater treatment facility right down the 1st row of sites. We stayed in site 13 & it was awful at times. Their reservation does warn you when you reserve certain sites, so they do not try to hide the fact that some sites stink! That said, I cannot wait to return. The cost is reasonable & the staff is friendly.
Ovidiu Bota
This is an amazing location on the Colorado River, very well managed with incredible views and trails.
K. Maki
First time here, but won't be the last. This park was clean and easy to find our spot. Plenty of room at our site for the motorhome as well as the Toad.
Park Rangers, like always, were friendly and helpful.
They had a nice big dog park for the pups. A lot of hiking trails the left from the park as well. We did the short overlook hike before we left, but will do more next time.
Great little spot, will definitely return!
Brent Clair
Great campsite. Very clean with lots of trails to hike and water for kayaking.
Robert Bush
The campground is very beautiful and kept very neat and clean. Campers are friendly and all observe the campground rules. The problem for myself, my wife and my two dogs was the extremely loud boats on the river. At times they were deafining. Also the must be a shooting range on the California side that scared my dogs along with the night time fire works
joshua walker
We camp here once a year with 6-10 trailers. The access to the water and all the accommodations on site are perfect (corn hole, ladder toss, fire pits, ranger station ice cream). The kids even got to do a workbook and deemed a junior ranger.
Mark Spencer
This is a nice winter getaway. Right on the shores of the Colorado River, lots of hiking, and access to ATV trails. Most spots are electric and water only, but the spots in the 31 through 38 or so our full hookups.
INDIAN SPRINGS RANCH NEVADA Jayme Brown
FANTASTIC hideaway. Spacious campsites. Waterfront space #56 Nature provided the rest. Full moon Friday night bingo fun across the River Restaurant LOVE the Doggie Beach ⛱
kathy jones
We have been coming to this state park for many years. Very well maintained, family friendly and dog friendly. Hiking trails were very well maintained and well marked for whatever distance you wanted to hike. Other than the extreme heat..we had a fun, family vacation.
Robin Ackerman
Very well kept campground. Camp spaces aren’t close together. Great spot next to the River. Couldn’t get the water anything less than hit in the showers. Showers not the cleanest.
Stacey Lang
Best Arizona state park we have stayed at so far. Clean, large rv spaces. Clean water front. Lots of shade trees. Ample amenities.... bathrooms, wash basins, showers. Love this park
Christina McNichols
Definitely a peaceful paradise! They're so accepting of everyone and all the people are wonderful, easy to make new friends! It was great for yoga, and even slacklining! There's some great hikes around, too. The water felt unbelievably nice!!! It was really clear and refreshing.
Annie T.
The staff is fantastic and most of the electric and water sites are large sites. Great dog park and separate area for dog access to water. Love this park
Gaby Maure
Love this place. 2nd time here and I'll definitely be back again.
Richard Kokes
Good place to go with larger watercraft or jet skis. Not so much for kayaks, even with small motors. Has a boat ramp. Has a few marked off swimming areas in the river if you want to play in the water. Be prepared. It is very noisy from sunup to sundown, sometimes later if watercraft have running lights. A few RV sites had trees. Most are in direct sun. Would be nice if there were more trees. During the summer, it will get hot in the direct sun. A few sites have sewer, most are water and electric only. Has a 2 trailer dump station. Has a water hose for Rhino hose dump tank backwash sprayer, if you have one, which was nice. Has tent camping spots. They do allow tent camping in rv spaces if you choose to do an RV space with water and electric. Would definitely go back.
Jamie
Our first time here was a spur of the moment trip in April 2020 and we've been back 3 times since. Wish we would have known about this place long ago. What a beautiful, clean, and fun place on the river. Our kids love it and ask to go back every weekend!
Tanja Klein
Beautiful area, a nice campground, and friendly staff. A good place to relax and get away because you do not have any good cell service.
Thomas Wilke
Camped here four nights (3-3 to 3-7-2020). Most sites have power and water, some have septic also. Sites along the river have no utilities. Each site has a picnic table and coffee ring. Nice restrooms and showers with hot water. Beautiful and quite campground, right on the Colorado river. 3 bars for Verizon and AT&T, Wi-Fi is so- so if you are further back in the campground. Zero over the air TV reception. Has a convienance store (9am to 4:30pm). Has a boat ramp into the river and a dump station.
Jess Wilhite
Beautiful place. You can't go wrong here. Stayed in Jan 2021 and it was so relaxing. Staff very nice. I'll bet this place is hopping in the summertime.
Brittany Gaines
Beautiful park with beach front areas and hiking. There are different trails available with 1-2 mile hikes. Great hike for kids. We took the kids on a hike and they did great. Well groomed trails. After our hike we stopped by the gift shop and got an ice cream to eat by the river.
Lily Holland
Great camping but beware a sewer facility is in the camp area and it isn't pleasant to the nose.
The spots numbered 21 and that area are in the stinky zone!
Tiffany Cooke
Great park! We stayed in spot #10 which has a beautiful view of the river but was not level. Bathrooms are very clean but hot water was only available in the bathrooms on the other side of the park for showers. Overall great experience and would stay there again.
Will Ezzell
One of the nicest Arizona state parks. Right on the bend of the Colorado river. Nice shaded rv spots, swimming area, boat launch and nature trails makes this a nice place to visit. The rangers are very friendly and knowledgeable about local wildlife.
Chris Towner
Cool park with a great picnic area on the beach of the river. Swimming area is separated from the main river channel by a floating barrier. The park is a bit noisey. If you your looking for a quiet location you might consider another place. Boats and other watercraft were plentiful and loud. Highly recommend a visit.
INGRID P
Great and beautiful place to spend time with your family. The water was so clean ,bathroom and the entire park was so clean , and very organized. I have to come back and sleep over..I just spend a couple of hours here with my kids the water was fresh no cold, well because the temperature was so hot. Very nice place I really recommended.
ELiSA OLMEdO
Amazing time! Relaxing and water was so nice. Fam loved it and will definitely be going back! Though next time we'll try and camp.
Margaret Weaver
Great park. But do not park by the mountain rocks, no cell or internet signal.
Ann Peterson
Great State Park to Visit for Hiking, boating and Camping. $10 a Day or $75 a yearly pass. Beautiful Hiking trails up to views of the Desert and Colorado River.
A S
Beautiful park and views of the river.. would definitely come back to camp in the rvpark in the future. the ranger at the station was very kind and helpful
Michelle Deras
Love this place in AZ, you can sit along the river just w a tent and chairs or w seadoos and boats, etc... You can tent ⛺ camp or bring your trailer/motor home and enjoy the hot AZ sunny weather while soakin, chilling, floating on the cool water... The restrooms are usually pretty clean, gotta give credit to the rangers (showers and toilets available onsite) .... I pretty sure all spaces have at least 2 electrical outlets and a water faucet, some of the spots also have onsite dumps, if not you can go and dump at the onsite septic tank...
Most of the spaces DO NOT have shade but very few do.
They have an onsite lil convenient store and a souvenir store too, they sell ice onsite.
They also have a onsite store and dog park.... Pups are allowed in the water only away from the the main from area... You cannot really take them into the water with you...
Heather Thompson
Great, clean park. Tent camping and RV spaces. Very very close to the river. Staff is the best
Stephanie Semro
Great spots by the river. Family friendly. Rangers and Hosts are so friendly and knowledgeable. I was even able to borrow DVDs from the store on site.
T Gomez
This is a great park. All of the volunteers who i spoke with were great people. All spots are paved with dubble wide. The trails are fantastic as well.
Heidi Germain
Nice location. Hiking trail was well marked. 800 feet of elevation gain 3.3 miles for me
Naveen Chandu
We stayed here only for 1 night. Liked everything about it. No cellphone service, wifi is kind of spotty but no complaints. We will return again.
Dianne Echazabal
Great sites along the Colorado River. Clean bathrooms and nice boat ranp. Saw a pet desert tortoise, their mascott.
Micheal Weinfurtner
What a great place, nice beach area with boat docks. Good camping also. I spent time there fishing off the point, what a great location with a nice tree for shade. Easy to get too and easy to find. Nice day use area and parking. More than enough infrastructure for the campers and day users. Look forward to visit the place again.
Octavio Ruiz
We went after Thanksgiving and really enjoyed decompressing, you get a lot of fast loud boats on the weekend but during the week it's quiet, river was kinda low but we were not swimming do it was nice.
Heather Kraafter
It was a very nice park! Great views, most sites have lots of shade. The dust that was stirred up and constant equipment beeping during construction was kind of a bummer but that was just one day.
The rangers and camp hosts were very nice and offered an ice cream social. Very friendly and lots to enjoy.
Kyra Schifferer
Beautiful! Trails are well marked and can't wait to come back and get more mileage. Only did 2 short ones.
Rick Beach
This is one of Arizona's best State Parks, as far as I am concerned. The campgrounds sits right on a huge bend in the lower Colorado River.
Some sites have full hook-ups, others power & water only. While a select few that back up against the river have no facilities and make for great Teardrop Trailer or Tent sites.
They have clean and well kept restrooms and shower facilities. The staff is super friendly and accommodating.
Several of us camper types that call Las Vegas, NV home, travel about 200 miles, one way. We attend an annual Teardrop/Vintage Trailer Rally every December and socialize with friends from California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona.
There is a boat ramp. Plenty of places to launch your own kayak or canoe. A swimming area for the warmer months of the year. A dump station. A visitors center/limited supplies. A seasonally open small store. This park is often filled up. Especially during "Snow Bird season". So it is best to reserve ahead of arriving.
Parker, Arizona is a few miles south and offers a Walmart, Gas Stations, Auto & RV/Boat supplies. The city of Lake Havasu is about a 1/2 hour drive north, and offers even more amenities.
Cell service is spotty to non-existent in the campgrounds. The campground does offer free Wifi but a dependable signal is only in the area of the group picnic shelter.
Debie Starbuck
Such an awesome place. Beautiful surroundings clean & well taken care of. Friendly staff we've already scheduled our return trip.
Michael Lopez
Excellent camp ground! Very quiet and clean. Pet accommodating with dog park. Has electric and water hookups only with very accessable dump station. River current is slow. Great for fishing and kayak.
Michael Mudd
Been going here for 40+ years, great park. Can't figure out why they removed cabana's and store. Big John has a great place directly across river on Cali side.
Bob Johnson
Pretty location. Good space between sites, not cramped. Our only complaints are it's too hot and humid in summer to enjoy being outside, and the jet boats on the river are extremely loud, all day long.
Randy Krug
Very nice park along a beautiful stretch of the Colorado River. Good hiking.
Kari Zimmers
Clean, beautiful views, nice hiking and boating. This state park has it all!!
Staci Basey
Absolutely breathtaking views. Clean campsites, restrooms and showers. I highly recommend Buckskin Mountain State Park.
DC
Buckskin is good in many ways, it's close to Parker, well kept and has all amenities. It has river access, dog park, clean bathroom & showers. They have a souvenir shop & some organized events; ice cream social, trail tours LED by a ranger etc
Jason Costello
Amazing hikes. Camp ground was OK. No cell service at our spot.
Miki Jimenez
Second time playing at this campground
but first time camping here too. Will be definitely coming back here again!
Walter Kautz
Awesome campground excellent views clean restrooms friendly staff lots of parking
peggy holsinger
Nice clean and quiet! Beautiful view of Colorado river!
Remada Smith
It's a beautiful place a must-see, Arizona has so much to offer. Get out and experience it!
Diamond Haney
Boat launch, gift shop, full and partial hookups and also dry camping. Watching the boats on the river was awesome. A lot of old school jet boats big blocks. Water access and trails. $35 a night for dry and you need reservations 3 days in advance in Arizona but we got a spot for one night so always ask.
Kathy Fore
Beautiful Park, well kept, clean bathrooms. Hiking trails, great scenery on the Colorado River.
Anette Harber
Great park clean family friendly park. Full hookups including sewer conections
Shari Buckhannon
Beautiful place, minus toilet paper floating all in the water even in the designated swim area for the kids.
Ahmad Ismail (Abo AbdulAziz)
Nice place for camping. Volleyball and basketball yards are available, though they need lights.
L R
Great campground, large sites, river is amazing, excellent trails
James Scott
Weaved our vacation there. Very beautiful water, the kids loved it.
Bongo Boy
Beautiful location on the Colorado River , with California 200 yards away on the other side .Great hike from the park entrance onto a pedestrian bridge over the highway , then a trail dotted with mineral mines and interesting rocks to discover .Elevation changes get you breathing hard . Bring water for sure .RV sites are very nice , and some shorter ones back onto the river .Demand for sites is high , so plan ahead .A DVD lending library is at the office .
Brenda Rodriguez
Beautiful place. A lot of things to do in the water. Restaurants on the water! Casino. Near town. Water is very clear. Park is well maintained.
Carlos Flores
Nice place to go camping
Russell Bloodgood
One of the most beautiful settings we've ever seen on the Colorado River. Serene !!
jon mer
This our new favorite river camp, great facilities. It is hot, but you know that. AZ. The river is beautiful.
John Beck
Beautifully maintained state park. Gorgeous scenery, plenty of grassy area, sandy beaches on a breath taking area of the Colorado River. Employees are wonderfully polite and helpful. I wi be returning in the Fall.
george howard
Just there for one night. Clean, easy in and out, electrical on each site, right on the Colorado river. They do have some dry over night parking area that is paved.
Bruce Cohen
Easy access from the 95. Very clean park. Friendly and helpful Rangers.
phvnbent
Such beautiful, magical, clear water. I saw a mermaid swimming along the seagrass. Such a wonderful smile, I almost gave myself to the Colorado River for her. Just one kiss for my life. I said nah, that water is freezing.
Michelle Cardin
Had so much fun getting away for the weekend. We're from orange county California and we love to go to lakes as much as possible . Usually here in California . But every now and then we make a trip to other states. We passed by this place when we went to Havasu in April and we were thinking we NEED to check this place out !! Our friends rented the spot and we came to meet them and were SUPER excited that THIS WAS THE SPOT WE MET THEM!! everyone on the lake is super friendly and keeping their eyes open while passing , we caught baby fish with our hands while swimming (let them go of course ) place was kept clean and didn't feel like we were being watched like a hawk the entire time but knew they were also keeping an eye out for anything going on . Visitors were also friendly . Brought 2 sons ages 11 and 13 and will be bringing all 5 kids next time for sure .
Gail Paepke
The park has a lot to offer, and is well kept. Real friendly and helpful staff, it is close by other attractions like Lake Havasu City, Cattail Cove, River Island and Bill Williams recreational area. If u r camping there, avoid site 16,17,22,23 if u can, they are right around the sewage processing facility, so it can stink real bad..other loops are cool.
chris winard
Our experience there was incredible. We feel like the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable especially the sweet dark hair lady at the gate as you first go in.The R.V. facilities and restrooms are well-maintained and I especially love that you had a store on premises that made life very convenient for us is it. We will be booking more stays with you in the future. Thank-you to all.
Lisa Szwiec
This park is so beautiful and loved seeing all the wild burros every morning.
Jeff T
Great location, clean, awesome views, and staff were very accommodating and patient with checking-in our large group. Only complaint is, checkout time is 12:00. We were packed up and obviously pulling out of our site at 5 till noon, but one of the rangers was sitting there watching us and pointing at his watch. That was rude and unnecessary (especially on a Sunday). Otherwise we had a good time.
Terry Gibbons
Went there for a hike. Nice trail system that is in good shape. Clean and well organized outdoor facility for picnics & access to river. Friendly staff.
Daniel Khurst
Out of all the sites in the general area thar we checked out, this is the BEST PARK. Spent the weekend there, what a BLAST. Everyone was awesome, no BS, clean and quiet. Had everything we needed.
Bettie Jo Mack
This place is beautiful. The grounds are well kept.
HS Gonzales
Had a great time! The showers were great...pressure and hot water; amazing! Great views from the hike also.
Kristine Petersen
Beautifully maintained park. Long, wide sandy beach for strolling, swimming and doggies. Wifi is non existent unless you are super close to the ranger station.
Georgiann Rose
Great place clean quiet beautiful in winter!
Mandy Deets
This is a beautiful park. It is clean, easy to reserve, and the spaces are big enough that we weren't on top of anyone. We will definitely be back!
Dell Ching
A Nice Place To Camp,...Park Is VERY Clean 😁 …
Steve Boothby
What a beautiful place. Gorgeous views of the river, very clean and well maintained facilities. Very reasonable prices. Great hiking trails, beach access, fun stuff for kids.
Bob Lenzen
Had a excellent time hiking at Buckskin. Beautiful place, very clean. We hiked and had lunch on the beach. The views were amazing. One trick from the ranger for entry. The fee is $10 but if you're only going to hike, just say that and it's $3 per person, so if it's just a couple you save,😁 …
E Cheeney
Beautiful sites very near the Colorado River. Staff is the best you can find. Rangers, none better.
julie beaumontt
Buckskin rocks.I bring my rv because they have a bunch of beautiful waterfront site w/ full hook ups.I've also stayed here in a tent on one of the beaches. They also have flush toilets and free showers for guests.Town (Parker/Parker Dam)and basic supplies are only minutes away and there's even a small gift shop on site.I prefer it here as opposed to Cattail Cove or the other two because it has more beach and easy walk up access to to the river from 3 out of 4 directions.Everyone we've encountered from rangers to guests seem to be totally dog friendly and genuinely nice.If you're considering a visit just go ahead and book it thru the Az. parks website. It's a beautiful spot that you'll want to keep coming back to.
Janet Fink
A beautiful park! Many campsites have big shade trees. Wonderful park rangers and connsesionairs. We'll be back!
Dennis Labrecque
$40/night. Outstanding scenery, very clean sites with power & water and 1 central dump station. All the sites are on a point surrounded on 3 sides by the Colorado River. Grounds have a cactus garden, nice shade & decorative trees of several kinds including Palm trees. Highly recommended.
Thea Ray
This is thee most Beautiful Park we have ever camped at.
Everyone was very quiet there.
We had good wifi in #17!
The bathrooms were clean.
It was nice for people to have a dishwashing station.
It had white Sandy Beachs.
And the best is it was right on the Colorado River.
Swimming was great.
Crystal blue water.
It was a Desert Oasis!!
We can't wait to go back!!!
D'Anne Weitzman
Many restroom stall door locks did not work. The locks looked like they hadn't been cleaned for quite a while.
Park was clean, some sights had full hookups, most only had electricity and water
Easy access to the river.
Jodi “jamminjodi”
So relaxing!!! Can't wait to go back again .
Susan Currie
Loved the campground! Beautiful surroundings, nice and quiet.
Kathleen Whalen
Beautiful views with beach and trail access
Sheral Rolfe
We love camping here.
Ben Franklin
I have to give this park a five star rating. It is beautiful for sure and 99% of the staff are perfect. However they have one bully on staff who should be removed. Pulling away from my campsite two of my tires touched the dirt as I pulled out of the way in case someone needed to pass. My stop would’ve only been for about 10 seconds I had forgotten to shut off the water to my RV. The bully came up and immediately accused me of parking in the dirt and gave me a long winded explanation as to the rules etc. I tried to explain to him that I was only shutting off the water. He wouldn’t stop he kept rattling on about my parking in spite of the fact that I was not parked I was only stopped and two of my tires were touching the dirt. Ironically the person across the street from me parked on the dirt every day I was there. His fifth wheel was too big to provide room on the pavement for his truck and RV so he had no choice. To keep from losing my temper I told Mr. bully that I would never do it again and for that he let me off with a stern warning. What a jerk, he marred my experience at the park and ruined my day and continued on his way. When I inquired at the gate about his behavior I was informed that “that’s just his thing” I noted many many people parked slightly on the dirt and the reason for not being able to park in the dirt seems crazy as in various ways people were camped in the dirt parked in the dirt etc.

I have mixed feelings about our stay here, so first the positive: The park is beautiful. The campsites are cute and well kept. The beaches and little desert gardens are delightful. Of course the Colorado River is a joy. My wife took advantage of an early morning hike on the beautiful desert trails and came back beaming, relaxed, and grounded. However, we feel a little duped to stay here because the website boasted an arcade and a playground. Having two kids this made our decision to choose this park over the others in the area. We found out upon arrival that both were removed. The place is beautiful... but its hard not too leave feeling a little slighted at not keeping their information updated so we could possibly make different decisions for my family.

Very nice, well maintained campground right at the river. Some spots have shade but they are always taken. Not cheap, about $ 43 a night with full hook-ups.Showers a little outdated.Be aware the speed boat noise is incredible annoying and they race within 20 feet of swimmers. It gets extremely hot here - 117 on this July day.But the river is still refreshing. We will be back.
Wheelie House Wire MESTREZ
Absolutely incredible!!! We were greeted by 2 fantastic ladies in the ranger office and they have beautiful natural hair color like mine! We Explored and hiked until we couldn't move anymore. The trails are the best I've seen! Well maintained. Great signs!
Mark S
Great place. Clean bathrooms. the boats at 6am are really loud though and no one seems to stop them from racing on the river that early or for waking every one up. Rangers are nice and helpful. Definitely will be back
Kristin Yocum
Well kept camp ground! Fun but not an out of control party crowd. Family oriented. Has clean restrooms and showers. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was one of the most easiest well situated camp experiences i have had. I recommend it to everyone!
Gabe Ewing (ewingpainting)
Love this park. We already have spaces rented out this year. Great access to the river. The sunsets are amazing.
D Powell
This is a beautiful AZ State Park lying next to the Colorado River. Enjoy day use or camping. Full hookups and no hookup sites available up to 14 days. Nice bathroom facilities with showers. Laundry too! You won't be disappointed with this area. Minimal shopping on site or drive 7 miles north or south 95 for market, gas and delicious Mexican food at Eddie's on Parker Dam Rd. Gorgeous views and squeaky clean.
Rick H
Super clean. Very odd, so many tents in RV spaces. But just a beautiful place to stay. 👍😎 Would have given 5 stars but had a tent camped behind our RV. They were very respectful & quiet. Just struck us as weird. 😁🌞 …
Simon Castro
Great place to camp on the Colorado River. We enjoyed our rv site, which was spacious enough a d relatively flat. The grounds are nice, lots of families. The staff was wonderful and willing to assist or answer questions. Great access to the river. We'll be coming back again soon.
Derek
Arizona state parks are great. Stay at one and you will understand why they are rated one of the best in the country. Had a site right in the bend of the river with full hookups and shade. Great view of the river and boats passing. Friendly staff with a small Visitor Center. While we were there the restaurant and Market were closed. Not much of a beach, but large grassy area next to River to hang out at. We definitely plan to come back.
J Rockford
Nice park but the cantons is close and bathrooms are outdated. Still nice place to visit.
Mary Gamez
Always had the best time here! Peace and quiet plus surrounded by Beautiful mountains along the Colorado River. Been here 3 times and will go many more. This place will always be busy year round! Get your reservations in early!!
Diane Hawks
Beautiful place. Costs money to enter.
Karl G
Great park, clean place, and beautiful water. They have always kept this park and facilities clean. We miss the old restaurant and pool parlor on site, but out with the old and in with the new golfing course (frisbee and cornhole).
cheryl ann garrett
Love this campground. Good spacing easy walk or bike trail to great beach without crossing hi-way with plenty trees acting as windbock
Jasmine Parker
So hot during the day, best to stay here if you have a boat. We were passing through. Another amazing place to stay with hot showers, toilets and a place to wash dishes oh and there's a fire pit.
Craig Male
Very clean park. Great people.
Flying M Air
Nice park on the Colorado River. Boat ramp, shaded sites, cabanas. Very peaceful in February — at least before the inconsiderate go-fast boat drivers start screaming up and down the river — although I’ve been told it’s a zoo on summer weekends. Affordable, nice showers. Unfortunately, restaurant, “boutique,” and marina were closed, although I was able to park my boat at the floating dock.
Le Ann Ware
Beautiful park, amazing scenery, truly a gem of our great country. The river was unbelievable- clear, clean, refreshing. Reasonable rates, clean shower facilities, best chips and hot sauce ever! The ONLY drawback we experienced - NO enforcement of night quiet time - loud, profane campers wandered around our tent from 11:00 PM until 2;00AM. Texas State Parks handle this problem -
D. O.
Great place to camp. Staff very friendly. Area was nice and clean. Great area for dogs. Bathrooms were good. Came here because it had WiFi. Unfortunately WiFi was not great the further you get back into the park. Other than that it is a very nice place to stay with a little convenience store at the entrance.
Jacqueline Ramirez
This place is amzing. Is beautiful, peaceful and friendly staff. The area is very clean. Everyone that's there is really in their area, very respectful of other people spaces. It doesn't matter if you are with a big family or by yourself. You will have a great time. Make sure to bring your canopy, there's not a lot of shade. Their bathroom were clean and have showers. The entire camping ground was clean. You are close to town were you can find restaurants and even rent jetski. They have hiking trails and most of all beautiful scenery.
Miguel Gonzales
Great for camping, fishing, boating and just an overall good time. Had an excellent labor day weekend on the water. We always enjoy our trips out there and look forward to the next ones as well. Thank you for keeping the park clean and letting us have an excellent time
Kristi Patten
A very gorgeous location. I have seen them set up for weddings and it's incredible on that bend. If you are camping, though, I do not recommend space 16 or 17 because it STINKS. They are right next to the recylced "water" plant lol BUT if you call the ranger station, they are great with helping you pick the best site available!
M van Zonneveld
It was just ok.. we went there many times in different RV's over the years, but no longer.. there's a few disappointments, but the constant back and forth of the volunteers and the park staff in their little work vehicles was beyond words.. counted them and one time we counted 41 trips in a 30 minute period.. the volunteers seem to think it's ok to be in your site all day creating noise, dust and a god awful smell.. oh well..
Michael Russo
An incredible gem we found right on Colorado River. Decent size spots allow truck to be parked next or in front of camper, even with awning out
Jeff B.
My family and I were staying in Lake Havasu and we decided to visit the local state parks. This park is basically a campsite or picnic stop with hiking trails right on the Colorado River. Due to COVID restrictions the day use area was limited which is what we were there for. We hiked and enjoyed the scenery of the river and cliffs but other than that, unless you're camping, there isn't much you can do here or see. The sites are next to the water for swimming and nearby fishing. There are also shade trees for having a picnic.
Kerry Sleeter
Gorgeous as usual!! Friendly people, clean, well taken care of campground. Bathrooms too!! Visit was cut short unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances on my part, but still enjoyed it the short time I was there!!
Linda Encinio
Spent Labor Day 2022 on the River with family. Loved it.
L TejadaSanchez
Great camping site with very friendly rangers. Clean nearby restrooms, pet area, with available water and electricity. We were able to hike, swim, jet ski, and more. Someone claimed there use to be an arcade but it is now closed. Great place to be off the grid for a bit. Although they give you a wifi password the service is not always available. One bar is all my phone would pick up, so I was only able to text once in a while but never able to send pictures. Had to wait till I left the site.
Barry Emmons
We went to hike the trail but it doesn't look like a big park but Its on the Colorado River with a campground. The trail is good probably a Easy/Moderate level since its a lot of up and down hill climbs but the trail is well marked. $3 day fee to hike. Not sure what the rest costs.
Tina Horne
We had a great time on our one-night test stay. Lots of sandy beaches, clean facilities, games, kayak launch wasn't busy, staff (and tortoise) were friendly.
Maury C
Great park next to the water. Nice dog area. Bathrooms and shower area were old and need remodeled. Bathrooms we're clean. Also smelled orders from the wastewater plant at times. Lots of trees in the park. Grass area for the kids. Boat launch and a nice hiking trail to and old gold mine. Bring your own water as the water doesn't taste all that good.
Jeff Regnier
Completely awesome place. Hiking trails, river access, beaches and a very nice campground. Stayed 3 nights and it went by too fast. Reservations are not optional - the earlier the better.
The greater Parker area has lots to do and a bunch of great restaurants.
Park restrooms and showers were very clean and well maintained.
Minor Negatives - only 1 row of pull-thru campsites. Only a few sites have sewer connections, but there is a dump station. Because of the popularity of this park, I you change your mind and want to stay longer, probably not happening.
Matthew Gudgeon
Park is beautiful, setting is really nice and relaxing, facilities are clean and well kept. Most importantly the STAFF gets a huge high 5 and 5 star review from me. Spencer and crew attended to me when having heat stroke and dehydration problems. They were all very caring and comforting and showed major concern with my health. I can't say it enough how awesome all those rangers are. They care about the people they are working around and that is very rare these days. I just wanted to leave a review so that Spencer and all his colleagues that day all get recognized. (Sorry I don't remember all the guys names, there were like half a dozen of them) 👍👍 anyways, thank you guys for being so awesome and having compassion for others!! This is what the world needs more of! Thanks again guys!
Julie Strait
Decent swimming beach, go early before 7 before boats are out. Then afterwards, hike or run the many trails
jeanne vanderheiden
Ranger Jerry, the Park Manager, talked with us about the park, its trees, future changes.
Vickie, the volunteer in the wonderful gift shop, shared her experience of living and working in the park.
Although this is the best state park we’ve ever camped in, maybe even the best campground of any type,
it would be even better if it had a restaurant. Large, shaded sites, pretty level. You can see the water and mountains from any site. A playground would be helpful. The restrooms, with showers, are super clean.
Sharon Dixon
Beautiful string, nice big RV sites. Bathrooms not nice!! Need to be rebuilt, showers were cold, clothes get wet as no shower curtains. Half doors on shorts so limited privacy. Sewage treatment plant always smells so depending on where your site is, you may always be smelling sewer
ccleezard “ccleezard”
We camped here Oct 20th 2021. Beautiful park, quiet, the staff were very nice. We are coming to this campground again.
melissa savia
Amazing views. Great new marked trials and not so busy. Great w furry friends too. There is no shade for dogs so plan accordingly but great for cooler weather
Courtenay Carty
Buckskin is great! Next time, we will spend more time there! The kids and I enjoyed the hiking trails and beach!
J Richards
Tough to rate this place. Some things are awesome and some are awful. I’ll try to break it down.
Cons:
1. The beaches are awful. They’re tiny and rocky, and the boats racing up and down the river make a lot of noise. That said, the kids didn’t seem to mind. The boat dock here is probably wide enough for 2 trailers at the same time, but it’s not a great dock.
2. The campsites aren’t great either. They say to not pitch on the grass because there’s an automatic sprinkler system, so you have to camp on gavel, and it’s not overly level.
3. We came with the intent to spend time in Havasu City. Don’t do that. This place is a good 30 minutes away from Havasu, and there are closer campgrounds.
Pros:
1. For a powered site, the price wasn’t too bad. It’s not cheap, but you get water and power hookups (I believe most sites are 30 amp, so check your specs). There is a dump station. We weren’t RVing, so I can’t speak to the dump station.
2. The Park Rangers at this place were awesome. Every bit as good as the quality ranger you sometimes find at National Parks. They are friendly and ready to teach you about the local flora and fauna.
Whether I’d recommend this place or not really comes down to why you’re going to be in the area. It’s not a bad park, but it doesn’t really do much of anything well...so maybe that makes it a bad park after all?
angelique runnels-kushaney
I really liked the peace and quiet while we were there. Very clean place and you can even see the bottom of the lake, it's very clean and nice.
Shawn Hansen
Very nice state park campground. $35 for a dry site right next to the river. Parking lot style
David Truby
Super friendly staff. Wonderful firepits... I will be back.....check out this fish I caught!
Marilyn
Love it here, lots of shade, clean bathrooms, friendly rangers. The water is amazing to go swimming. Lots and lots of fun. I can't wait to go back.
Nathan Novak
Our site is awesome with big cottonwood trees and a river view. The campground is very clean and quiet. This is one is going on my favorites list for sure!
Nicole R
Can't beat the view from sites 62-68, but they have cut down almost all the huge shade trees and removed the lush grass in an area that used to be a grassy shaded oasis from the sun. 🙄😞 maybe they are going to build cabins or add more sites, but it was a major disappointment upon arrival. …
Wayne Tuttle
Nice part of the river. Very relaxing.
Dolores Blum
This is a must see. Hiked the trail to the old mines. Up and down with some fairly steep spots but we'll worth it. Park is very clean. The volunteers are really nice and they host a few events there. Saw monarch butterflies last year. Several different species of birds and the stars at night are unreal. Right on the river too.
David Castle
This is the best campground on a bend in the river with water on 3 sides just off the highway but around a hill that provides peace and quiet. Other resorts don't compare. Several hiking trails walk by abandoned mines.
AVstudioUSA Com
We've been to Buckskin at least three times per year since 2006. We usually stay from 3 to 6 days at a time between May and October.
This park is very well maintained. It's not a hotel. It's a campground so adjust your expectations accordingly.
The bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained (for a campground).
It is a little pricey for what it is. But I think it's well worth the fee.
The only problem I've had is with people not controlling their dogs. Letting them run around our group at the edge of the water, pooping near us (up stream--gross!!!), and shaking themselves dry near me getting me wet (stinky).
The river is noisy with loud boats going up and down the river starting very early and going past sundown. However, there's no loud music or partying after 10 PM at the park. And I haven't really noticed loud groups even at other times in the park. Sometimes there are loud people across the river. But it's not loud enough to prevent me from sleeping.
We also take advantage of the onsite store and restaurant. We are not expecting the best dining experience. We are camping after all--roughing it. So it meets our needs when we don't feel like cooking for ourselves.
We plan to return in June 2013. Enough said.
Robin Ruggeri
It's a clean park with plenty of campsites for tent or RV, great views of the river, easy access to the river, day use area is really nice as well, showers available in the restrooms. Will be going back.
Rosalind Gardner
We always spend a few days at Buckskin on our way north, after spending the winter in southern Arizona. I would love to give this park a 5-star rating, based on its friendly staff, lovely location, and huge dog park; but the stink from the septic field is really nauseating. I feel for anyone who camps within 'smell range'. Too, we put in a request to have diesel spill on our site taken care of, that was present when we arrived, but received no action on that matter. By result we couldn't sit outside or have our RV windows open when the wind carried the fumes towards our unit.
Wendi Underhill
Great beach on the river. Dog friendly.
Erika Stevens
Beautiful view. Clean bathrooms. Nice camp sites.
Nights were pretty quiet and peaceful but plenty of boat noise during the day.
Kandace Fortune
Great experience and beautiful view of the river. Very clean restrooms
Conder Schader
Ranger way should be called Danger Way. Rangers speed in and out of there day and night. People are allowed to play their music really loud. The water access is great, big grassy area, plenty of room for dogs to play.
Luke McIntyre
Clean and close to the river. Great staff, very friendly and accommodating.
Sue Frank
Loved this park. Nice that it's not too big. Lots of room between sites. Beautiful setting on the Colorado River. Very clean and well cared for. Will definitely come back.
Donald Knox
Nice clean place to go for camping but you have to bring your own food no restaurant there anymore. And the trees will scratch your boats and motor homes
Irene
Clean! Family friendly! Right on the river!
J B
One of my favorite places in Arizona. Highly recommend.
Thomas Hudson
Buckskin Mountain is one of four State Parks in the Lake Havasu area. This Park is on the Colorado River, and some spots have FHU. Some have only electric and water, and some smaller spots on the beach have no hookups. Good dump station. Nice hiking trails, but limited mountain biking from Park. Worth a visit. Book well in advance.
Maryann Clark
Clean friendly and a nice beach. Just don't take a spot by the water recycling center. Has a little store, a hiking trail, dog park, clean showers and more.
Chris Walter
The trails are very nice. Well maintained and designed to follow ridges to minimize ups and downs. The staff is friendly and helpful. The shady riverside is cool and relaxing.
Lt56 G
Beautiful place to camp everyone was polite and helpful. Can't wait to go back
Ingrid Layne
Nice campground on the Colorado River. Well-marked hikes, a succulent garden, and a small store on premises. No internet at our campsite, but you could get reception at the store. A former on-site restaurant is permanently closed.
Daniel Barnes
I stay here every year for the past 7 years to watch the Parker 425 off-road race. Always a pleasure, the view is great, location is not to far from town, and staff are friendly and helpful. This place is ALWAYS clean!
Donald Shade
Dry camped on the riverbank. Very clean place. Space 84 is best IMHO...Large site with a tree next to restrooms and clean shower.
Kim Frazier
We were in space number 16 it was right by a sewage Reclamation plant so it would stink when the wind would pick up cuz we're right next to it the rest the sites were pretty nice the people are friendly the bathrooms are clean pretty by the water and beaches. They have nice grassy areas right to the beach you won't catch any fish there cuz there's a lot of boating
floyd simmons
First thing are the bathrooms. Please take a power washer and blast the showers because either they’re just old tiles or they haven’t seen soap and water for a long time. And I would love to take a cold shower. Other than that it’s a great park!
abby torres
Beautiful campsite! Perfectly situated with multiple beaches for river access. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff!
DatDewd YouKnowAndLuv
Went for a good friend's 40th and it was impeccably clean. We got a great spot by the grass and a huge shade tree. Everyone was friendly but not many people there so we got lucky!
Sandra Rodas
Always a great camping tripcation have become regulars for the past 7 yrs. Only 2 sadnesses the fact that the store/restaurant has relocated across the lake. And having to leave after a great 5 days.
Ed N.
Great park. Bathrooms were clean, gift shop fun, and the staff were wonderful and friendly. Water was hard. The hikes were fun although steep in a few places.
chergirl70
3rd Trip! Love the beauty!
IreneNSC
Stopped to let our little dogs stretch and wade in the water. $10 a bit steep for an hour or so visit. Area well kept and pleasant except for a store/gift shop worker or maybe she was a volunteer who certainly wasn't suited to meeting the public. She was non-commutative and not pleasant when she did manage to answer a question. She needs a different job for sure. ;-)
Connie Blake
Beautiful setting, nice sites, tho close together.
Would've given 5 stars, if not for the continuous traffic in and out, staring at 6 a.m., from the ranger headquarters by site 6.
Mauricio juarez
this place is a hidden gem !! thanks AZ parks for this place been coming here for 3 years in a row post covid and going back in 3 weeks cant wait !!
Edgar Cardenas
I loved it. Nice area, with plenty of areas to fish from. There's also restroom and showers available. A nice little store also for whatever you need.
Tony Phillips
Great place to camp. The Colorado River is cold, clear, and beautiful ! Nestled in the mountains alongside the river , Buckskin is a super nice place to camp, swim, hike, bike, and enjoy nature. 5 stars !
Bruce Voigt
The friendliest State Park that we have been at to date. Everyone made you feel like you are part of the family. Awesome experience. They even had an ice cream social on Saturday afternoons.
Patty Ellis
The park has a beach for swimming and the park is well maintained. My go to when I take my trailer. No wifi tho
Tripping Tommy
This is one of the hidden jewels of Arizona. I almost don't want to tell you how nice this spot is because when the word gets out it's going to be a busy place. Very nice camping right on the river with all the amenities you could want. This is a big winner, check it out.
olivia nicole ricafort
Before going to this park, I checked the reviews first to see the experiences of people who have been here. Fortunately, the reviews were true! I love the cleanliness of this park. The place is also relaxing. My friends and I will be back.
Kc Kay
This was a great hike, cool pedestrian bridge that goes over the main Hwy. One part of the hike it overlooks the Colorado River. Not overly crowded.
Melody
Great place to swim and boat along the Colorado River. Not so great for camping during the warm and hot months but if you have an RV with AC this place is perfect. Has a market and a restaurant onsite too.
Richard Netterville
I really love Buckskin Park. Been going there since the 70's. They have R V parking. Restroom's with all you could want. Showers keeped clean daily. Boat launching and cabana's right on the Colorado river in Parker Arizona. They also have a restaurant. And Market. One stop shopping. Oh! They have a bar with all the fun thing's. Pool tables music and T. V.s for sport's. The the good deal low priced camping. You dont need an RV. Just bring your camping gear and your good.
Sheryl Price
Great campground and nice people. Been there a few times.
Barbara Toscano
Great state park.
Fabulous dog beach and dog park. Both staff and other visitors really friendly. Had wonderful time.
Can't wait for my next trip back!
Mia Mejorado
Where else can you sleep in the river and under the skies. We stayed on the 4th of July weekend so fireworks everywhere. Hot showers and restrooms cleaned daily. Very nice.
Kesha Calloway
Very nice park. Has camping boating and beach area to swim. Loved it
Kathy Siddons
Full RV hook ups available. Paved sites. Boat launch and beach access. Swimming area as well.
Jason Peraza
Good price, and right on the river. Has a small dog park and tons of parking on a great area of the river that is pretty quiet. You can also day rent cabanas on the waterfront.
Connie Votaw
Great for day-use or overnight camping. Restrooms were very clean and sites were shaded & wekcoming.
Tim Tinsley
The State spent 2 months repaving the roads and campsites.
The place is spotless due to the many emoyees running around !
J Bird
Great place to launch. Kayaked up River, a few shaded spots along the way. The park is clean and nice.
Joan Grohman
Great campground along Colorado River. Nice RV spots with views of river.
Dick Dato
Park and facility is nice. Their internet WiFi is very very bad and has been the three years we have camped here. They don't seem to care.
Jim Hendricksion
Great place to camp, a very good staff. It just needs a store.
Marvin Green
The cabanas make this campground the absolute best place for short van and pickup campers. The A to J cabanas face the riverfront for "the best seat in the house", the walls provide just enough privacy, 15 AMPS is just enough power, the clean bathrooms and "kitchen sink" are close by, the WiFi signal emirates from cabana "C" at 3Mbits/sec--I just had to extend for a second day.
Paul McIntosh
Beautiful weather, nice campsite on the river.
Matt McFadden
One of our favorite campgrounds in AZ. Clean, nice sites, and good beaches.
Jennifer Hayes
This is our favorite camping spot! We spend every Memorial Day here and our group grows bigger every year! The happy hour at the Buckskin Market is an awesome bonus!
Sylvester Sierra
Amazing weekend! Everyone is extremely friendly and the facilities are very clean. If your planning a camping trip this is by far a great destination.
Timeless Home Gallery
Very impressed with Arizona State Parks in general albeit a bit on the pricey side without full hookups but you can not beat the location, views and Colorado River front of Buckskin Mountain State Park!
chuck renfroe
Great park!
Jeffrey More
You get what you pay for, which is a lot. Staff and spots are great. Very clean and well taken care of. Tent spots are on hard sand, but you get used to it.
Felix “wisefly” Velazquez
I loved it here. Clean and security was around so felt safe. Dogs are welcome as well! Me and my family will be back for sure!
Kimberly Ochoa
Amazing place!
Me personally I did not get service at the park.
Water was so cold. It was just right for the hot weather !
Serifin Rincon
Buckskin is a great Rv park thar offers different ammenities through out the year ? Resturant Book readers location with coffee ice cream sodas water great hiking trails ? desnigated wifi area cabanas shaded campsites big central fire pit . One down fall is that the showers only have a 3 foot door and that needs to be adressed asap ;) the other restrooms have 3 ft doors on the water closets , otherwise its a great rv park :)
Cristy Six
Well maintained & friendly staff. Gorgeous location close to ice, good happy hour, food & town is close if the unexpected needs the park store can't provide, are available if you didn't prepare to camp.
susan olsen

AJM LV
Probably one of my favorite places in the world after my first visit. So many amazing memories and the perfect place for any holiday trips.

We always return to one of the best State Parks in AZ.
The staff was friendly and the grounds are always clean.
sergio saldana
We went just recently at the beginning of the summer and had a blast I hadn't been there for at least 10 years but it was just as beautiful and pleasant as it was back then by far the best place on the parker strip to stay right on the river front literally stay in a cabana and your right on the river
Patty Rivas
We have visited this campground several times and every time we have had a great time it’s clean and very well taken care of highly recommend this campground
Edward Garcia
