Reviews of Ridley Creek State Park
Angela Z-Frace
First, this is a huge park with lots of parking and picnic areas marked by numbers. So if you need to meet with a group, better share a specific spot or pin it on maps. Otherwise you may end up driving another 10+ minutes to meet your people.
Before I came for the group hike this morning, I thought this park is as “flat” as South Jersey. I was wrong. It’s more mountainous park. So there were quite some elevations going up and down the mountain trails.
We parked at #16 and took the White-Yellow-Blue Loop Trails, with a 6.9 miles today (04/25/2022).
The trails are all marked very well. It’s such a pleasant hike with birds chirping, spring flowers blooming, trees turning green all along. And the running creeks or streams you would pass by adds to the serenity.
In summer, it will be a great park to bring kids to have fun in the water while sitting on one of the benches built by the creeks. Or just picnic at one of the parking & picnic areas for your convenience.
This must be a good place to go fishing as I saw a guy carrying some fish back to his car by the roadside.
I will come back to explore/enjoy more of the park.

This is a great park to take a walk through. My love and I have been there a number of times, for power walks, strolls, or to give the dogs a long walk. There are plenty of mature trees along the walking path which meanders alongside the gentle stream... our favorite. We haven't explored the entire park yet, but I do recommend a visit. It's especially awesome in fall.
Edmond Fitzgerald
I love hiking at this place. They do a great job keeping the trails maintained and the Gary the ranger always has a cheerful attitude. You can tell he really enjoys being there. The paved trail has plenty of points of interest which someone thoughtfully labeled and there is a bathroom at one of the parking areas that’s open year round.
mansi morye
It’s very calm and beautiful. We went there on a Saturday morning we saw many people walking their dogs. Having a picnic in the picnic area. It was pretty busy as I think it was a long weekend Saturday. I took my cat there and it’s a pretty animal friendly place. It was very soothing and calming. Would love to visit this place again.

Ridley Creek is a beautiful place to spend the day. With many walking trails, both paved and unpaved on 2,606 acres for walking, jogging, biking and dog walking. Fishing in the creek is aloud {check permit requirements}. Bring lunch and take advantage of the many picnic tables or benches, or grill in designated areas. The park is open seven days a week, with some parking and restrooms. Their hours are sunrise to sunset, so check their website prior to your visit, as these times are always changing.
Jeremy Brodovsky
Such a beautiful park. Quite the gem in Delaware County. Hiked/ran the 3.7 mile Blue trail starting from patking area #9 and it was extremely well marked and easy to follow. And beautiful!! Thru the woods, across the creek, even saw a blue heron! And it was challenging up and down. Simply magnificent.
Lolo Nel
I was invited to a Picnic Celebration in the park with friends. The weather and scenery was beautiful. We celebrated a couple who just got married weeks prior. I enjoyed myself at this park it was a fun, creative and beautiful experience.
Don Altemus
Beautiful park with quite a few hiking trails of various lengths. There are pavilions at many of the trail heads and public restrooms are available in multiple places.
Wooded with stream flowing through. Park also offers stables with pony rides for those who would like that sort of activity.
Utkarsh Jaiswal
Amazing view of fall colors, we happened to have gone at the time when the fishing association was putting truts back in the creek, so that was also worth the watch, never knew that's how the creeks are populated with fish.
There is a bench which provides clear unbostructed views of the creek.

I've been going to Ridley Creek since I was little, it's place for everyone to kick back, enjoy nature, exercise, bike, roller blade, etc. Trails can be confusing the first couple of times but you'll get your barrings down. Connect with nature and get your serotonin flowing. I love exploring the more hidden trails with my dog and strolling along the water.
Kevin Yu
This park offers so many things to do for the whole family... hiking, cycling, fishing, picnics, and so much more. We frequent this park to escape into nature with our five year old daughter and our dog. There are paved walking/cycling paths as well as hiking paths that make you forget you're still in Delaware County. We love walking through the equestrian facility where our daughter can get a close-up view of the horses. There are a number of pavilions and playgrounds, each with a slightly different setting and some better than others, so be sure to check them all out. While the main walking/cycling path can get pretty busy, we've noticed that the hiking paths are significantly less crowded. We typically use AllTrails app to keep us from getting lost while hiking and TrailLink app while we're cycling. As a family who enjoys the four seasons, we also enjoy visiting throughout the year for the beauty that nature has to offer each season.
Behzad Dogahe
Nice place for a picnic or a little walk, with nice scenery of nature and an old mansion.
Asa Sturtevant
A quiet place that holds much beauty and history. Great place to bring the kids, good amenities, and a variety of trails to keep it interesting
kiran padale
Beautiful place with tall trees canopies. Long trail walk. Tight parking.
Sherin Joy
This is a nice park for jogging and hiking. The trail that run along the river side is really beautiful. Now that the summer time started the place looks great. When you walk through the trail you can feel so much fresh air which is so refreshing. If yo go on rainy day or just after the rain then the trails can be slightly slippery and muddy. So try to wear hiking shoes. There are couple of parking lots and entrances so the trail you take will depend on the entrance you choose. This is a cool place to spend your day being closer to nature.
Plenty of parking space and couple of benches and tables under the trees where you can sit and relax.
Michael Harris
Amazing park. The mansion is beautiful. The trails are great. Our family has had family pictures taken here.
Michelle O
Beautiful place to hike.
I was there for a wedding. The event space was beautiful. Amazing food and service.
DAMIAN HANSON
This park is really huge and amazingly full of surprises.some of the inner park roads are kinda hard to walk on.they have picnic area all over the park.the park office is so gorgeous,it’s a peace of history.they have weeding venues inside the office and space to accommodate wedding.quite a few parking lot.at the entrance you can see the horse trail.the plantation was closed when we got there so didn’t bother to go anywhere else.
Barb Hauck-Mah (barbhmphilly)
So many highlights as we hiked for 2 hours on part of the yellow trail and paved trail with our pup. If you do an out-and-back on the paved trail, you get the best views of the Creek, pass the boat launch, dam and historic ruins. The benches, trash cans and portapotties are to be found on that trail also. There was steady foot traffic on a weekend late morning and some bicyclists. Parking onsite was available. We will be back to see the rest this fall!
Steve Shockley
We have our annual high school class picnic here almost every year, and it's a great place to go for an outdoorsy picnic when the air is just cooling down from a hot summer. The leaves were falling on the ground adding multiple colors of yellow and orange and red to the scenery. Absolutely beautiful.
Natasha Kelly
My husband and I got married here 14 years ago and just visited with our kids. It's still so beautiful. Great place to hike or have an event. 14 years ago there was a very crabby and rude lady "working" (babysitting the venue) on our wedding night but hopefully, she has been replaced with someone else. I miss living near beautiful hikes like this!
Savannah Georgia
Amazing walking trails and activities. It's super cool seeing the horses and mansion. We walked through the entire park From the front entrance to the horses and mansion in about 2 and a half hours. to get to the horse area keep right at the fork in the road from the main entrance. later you have to make a right to a different wing of the park. Layer you will reach the white trail. Be warned: the white trail is definitely a hiking trail, going from the front entrance to the horse and mansion area the white trail is mostly uphill for a while, full of roots and trees. It goes back downhill bit it's definitely a bit of a struggle for inexperienced hikers like me. The end of the white trail also opens to a two lane road. At this juncture make a left and follow the road to reach the horse area and mansion. Throughout The park there are awesome views of the river and waterfalls. There are also some animals here like great horned owls, hawks, and some deer.
duffy Laws
A lovely place to hike. The web of trails offer many options; I enjoyed the blue trail. Nice views along the river and bridges for easy creek crossing. The trails are well maintained. A tree came down blocking the trail but was cleaned up in just a day.
Chris Bradley
I've been going to Ridley Creek State Park to jog on the trails/get back into shape over the winter. I recommend parking near the main office/stables and walking the white trail for a good 4.2 mile trek. Some of the paths can get a little muddy after a rain, but if you give it a couple of days it's normally fine.
Ralph Allen
Run here every morning has an amazing 4.7 mile paved loop for running walking and biking along with many trails through the woods. Beautiful scenery. Parking can be tough on busy days.
Sreelekha Revur
Such fun trail it was. There was ample space for social distancing. The views of flowing water soothing all along the park trail. It was shady and would do great even on a sunny day. The parking was plenty and the picnic benches were great for post hike lunch / munch! The occasional spotting of the old ruins gives the hiker a thrill! The gazebo is just a perfect sight to imagine a wedding party and a fun place for kids !
Jim Adams
This is a great park for family time! Walking, hiking, fishing, relaxing and even barbecuing. There's a lot of nice flora and fauna to see there. There are many trails to follow as well. Some well marted, better than others, but there are maps too. Do yourself a favor and go!
Krishna kosi
Wonderful place to see nice fall foliage
Viraj Gadgil
Many different trail entrances! Convenient and free parking spots. Wanted to visit the mansion but it was closed on Sunday. One can enjoy calm space and beautiful sound of water body flowing next to trails! Perfect place for family outing.
Angela Ucciferri
This was a pretty awesome state park. They have a bunch of picnic areas, lots and lots of trails through the woods that are colored and cross each other, and a creek that runs along some of the trails. They have paved trails as well for biking. Seems youu can fish there too... this was my first time there- we spent a couple of hours there walking our dog through the woods on the different trails, and I think we only covered a small area of this park. I would've given 5 stars, but some of the patrons were a bit standoffish, and there were lots of people there.
Jacqueline Telljohann
We were in town traveling over a weekend so we decided to go on a hike in the area.
We spent a couple of hours exploring this park. I don't remember the trails we did, but we parked by bathrooms and then I think we did the white trail, but that could be wrong.
It was a nice little hike. We went along the river with a couple of good view points. At the end we walked down to a little waterfall before turning around to come back.
It was a pretty easy walk, not very long and not many hills, but nice nonetheless. It's a good place to spend a few hours exploring.
James Christaldi
This has always been a great park. I have been visiting it since the early 70's and still enjoy it each and every time I go. There are some fantastic hiking trails that are well marked. For the less adventurous, thare is a great paved road (now a walking/biking path) that takes you along the picturesque Ridley Creek and beyond. Tons of wildlife from all kinds of birds, deer, rabbits and now even beaver have returned! Beautiful and tranquil. We are lucky to have it here!
Todd Troutman
Nice mix of paved trails, dirt trails, and open spaces. Good for hikes in the woods or a relaxing picnic.
Bakhtiar Ali
Beautifully maintained , lush green spaces and picnic spots for parties. Piny rides available for kids. Many hidden trails in the woods following the creek
It’s me Charzi
Such a great park to spend your time. Completely takes days to cover the entire park. Bike Ride, Walking, jogging and many other activities can be carried out here. A must go place for everyone . Especially when it is falls time it is THE BEST place to take photos .
Car Wash Adam Cooper
Beautiful Oasis in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Very clean facilities with plenty of capacity. The park is fairly deserted during the week, but I imagine that weekends and holidays are a different story. Lots of walking trails and picnic areas. There is also a stable where you can go riding. Great location for a quick day trip. Excellent place to take your kids for an adventure! experience nature, get some fresh air and leave the phone in the car.
Nick Belial
Beautiful park and a great place to spend some time outdoors. The mansion is a wonder unto itself and the grounds are the perfect location for a photoshoot or hike.
Philly Fairy
So many trails to explore, sights to behold, and spots to even hold parties and barbeques! Bathrooms are well maintained and this is a must to visit for nature aficionados and novices as well.
daniel laufer
This place was amazing. Great, hilly trails with nice canopies and a creek for the pups to play in. (We did blue and white trails, mostly.) Really enjoyed it! Definitely coming back many times. so close to philly. Parking was good, too.
Federico Zazzetti
Beautiful state park. Ideal to get in touch with nature. Recomeded for those who enjoy hiking!
Ford Tuff
Wonderful and pleasant escape from life. The paths and trails are clearly marked. Plenty of parking and safe. However be mindful of the times. They close promptly and lock the gates.
Charles H
A quiet park that offers horseback riding, hiking and biking.

Absolutely stunning. Able to get deep enough into the woods that you cant hear any cars. Really nice park.
Charles Ross
Great park with plenty of hiking trails from less than a mile to over 4. There is a beautiful mansion on the grounds. I personally hiked the orange trail on the map. Which is in particular a creek trail. There is something about hiking along the crew that intrigues me. This one has some difficult parts so where good hiking foot wear and a treking pole for balance along the root riddled parts. I've posted videos and pictures to give you a glimpse.
Sanjana Balakrishna
Very peaceful and a quick getaway. There is a hike as well as a bike trail. The entrance is free. They also offer some horse rides for those interested. There are three trails - white, blue and yellow. It is between easy and medium hike. I definitely recommend it. It's very peaceful to sit by the creek.
Ming Sun
Nice local park with great trails. Can be hard to find parking spot depending on the entrance and the day of the week.
Yash Trikannad
Don't get me wrong. The place is extremely nice for normal jogging and if just want to enjoy nature. I had come to this trek expecting to be a nice hike with nice views to click pictures. Got monotonous after a time. Still a nice place if you are just looking to refresh but don't expect extremely beautiful views. The creek was very beautiful though!
Erkan Tuna
First of all I'd like to say that I'm pretty biased to this park only because I grew up in the area, and will always try to come here whenever the weather permits.
Ridley Creek park is a beautiful park, and it's massive. It has a lot to offer for new visitors in the area. There is plenty of things you can do for a day if you choose to do so.
Picnics - Ridley Creek Park gives you the opportunity to reserve a picnic pavilion if you want to host a gather of some sort. You have the option of choosing a small one or a big one. Most pavilions come with ample parking, seating, barbecue grill and bathrooms. Some even have play sets for children.
Hiking - Ridley Creek Park has many different trails for hiking. There are a few that you're able to hike within the pre-designated dirt parths (yellow, white, blue trails). There's also paved walking paths too, which I love. They're great for the spring and fall walking.
Fishing - I personally haven't partaken, but I consistently see people fishing, whether it's fly fishing or some other method. People seem to be successful, so take it for what it is.
Overall this park is great, and has a lot to offer. Only downside is that it's open from sunrise to sunset. If you're parked there beyond those hours you will get ticketed (trust me, I know). However if you do, you should be comfortable knowing that ticket paid for the maintenance of the park, which is really well.
Melanie Motchenbacher
I love this huge State Park. Miles of walking trails. Varied scenery. Tons of parking.
Teddy J Costa
The ability to get off the paved roads, lose cell phone service, and mix different trail colors up has led me to a different hiking experience almost every time. Late fall is a great time to go - weather is beautiful, there is still color spruced here and there amongst the forest floor, and you'll always get to hear the running creek when you take the nearby trails that accompany it. Wait until winter time - that's the absolute best time in my opinion, when the creek is frozen and you get to create your own paths...
Ines Breen
It never disappoints. Wonderful trails. Lovely creek. An awesome slice of nature.
Sharon Jolly
We enjoyed hiking through the park. Very clean and beautiful views.
Liang Wen Chen
Great hiking spot with a variety of trails to go about at your leisure.
These trails are less challenging. Markers should be updated as some of them are on the trees and those are aged and less clear.
Great shade, came here after a rain and bugs were a lot less (which is great).
Courtney Finn
I loved hiking here! I will definitely be returning. The parking isn't great though once you find a place it will be worth it. The paved road is 4.5 miles and there are 3 main trails that criss cross at several points: white, blue and yellow. I followed the white trail. It was pretty busy but I'm used to having to pay to enter a state park in Delaware.
Dana Shanis
Great park for a hike. Had a picnic at picnic spot #16, lots of trails nearby.
Went fishing with the family on a free day (no permit required) and caught lots of sun fish. They have a fishing clinic for kids on the free fishing days. Highly recommend
Tony Steven
Went here for Easter Sunday with the church, very nice and clean state Park. They rented the picnic area and got 2 pavilions which was very nice spot for gathering and picnic.
If I'm not mistaken about 200 people came adults and kids and we all had fun activities. Not to mention they had very clean and maintained bathroom house.
Very recommended if you like outdoor either it's for pleasure or you just want to reconnect with yourself and the nature.
JD Schroeder
Pretty great! Lots of different trails to choose from and none are very hard. The yellow trail was flooded in one section when we went but the white and blue were cool down by the creek running through the park. The mansion is cool to look at as well.
T. Aurora
Nice place to relax, walk around, photography and have small picnics. Feels good being out in nature and near horses. Large park.
Bob
Favorite place to go for a walk. The hill will give you a nice workout. Get some miles in.
malm _
Really beautiful park def worth the visit. i agree it needs more parking spread throughout the park. the waterfall from the pic is basically only accessible at one side & you can only fly fish there &@ other parts of the park. A lot of private residences in & around it seems so gotta be careful fishing. clean park beautiful creek.
M Alghazalizoom
Huge space, a lots of things to do from hiking, strolling, picnic, biking. Theres a mansion you can visit, in my visit it was closed. Horse stables. Just go there and get immersed into nature and forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Abu Nahian
Very beautiful and have lots of things to do. Walking trail, fishing, Picnic, birthday party , etc. you can also have the opportunity to see deer, rabbit, hummingbird, squirrels, fish. The walk by the river is crystal clear and you can the fish.
Michele Gargiulo
Always a fun adventure!!!! Lots of times of the year to come explore
Jessica Jordan
It big enough to explore all over! There's a few different trails to do, perfect for pets, family and alone time. People are always nice and you can get great hiking and exercise in!
ryan hooker
Many many many trails that are interwoven with beautiful terrain. The blazed trails are mostly self explanatory, but nice to have a map handy too. Good times
Jo Ann Butler
Multifaceted, beautiful, and enjoyable all four seasons. The 4.3 mile main trail with its steep hill provides a good workout for walkers, joggers, and bikers. But for more adventure explore the white, yellow, and blue trails. Great walkng path and horse farm near the mansion. Enjoy!
Thomas McGovern
Love this park. There are so many trails you rarely feel packed in on more popular hikes walkers runners bikers all seem friendly. Walkers and runners are one side bikers are on other. The system works. My wife and I walk the busy trails near the water 25 30 times a season We have never seen an accident. Great place to get your exercise in
David
Lot 13 is my favorite despite the weirdos that seem to be there doing anything but hiking. I rarely see anyone on trails so I'm free to Rockhound and explore. Beautiful trail along the creek
Dennis Spring
Great place for hiking, biking, BBQing or just hanging out with the kids in one of the many parks. The large abandon road is great for just strolling down we're riding your bike past the creek make sure you check it out.
Gunter Heisler
Amazing scenic views with a beautiful mansion, great trails during any season
Jos KS
Spacious outdoor parks..secluded and quiet surroundings.. sprawling woods and meadows.. well maintained and monitored.. sufficient barbeque points and campfire pits distributed in separate areas..cool meadows even in peak summer..places to host children party too.. clean washrooms..
JASMINE K
Amazing views open to the public plenty of space to keep social distancing and great waterfalls I really enjoyed the height it wasn't difficult it was uphill downhill but it was flat land so it made a very easy to go with pets and kids really had a great time.
bulutosin scofield
Big national park and you will feel relax during the hot summer. The big stone house are pretty cool that i really dream to own one . Yes thats a dream .cause I don't have enough money.

Ridley Creek State Park is a 2,606-acre Pennsylvania state park in Edgmont, Middletown, and Upper Providence Townships, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The park, about 5 miles (8 km) north of the county seat of Media, offers many recreational activities, such as hiking, biking, fishing, and picnicking. Ridley Creek passes through the park. Highlights include a 5-mile (8 km) paved multi-use trail, a formal garden designed by the Olmsted Brothers, and Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation, which recreates daily life on a pre-Revolutionary farm. The park is adjacent to the John J. Tyler Arboretum. Ridley Creek State Park is just over 16 miles (26 km) from downtown, Philadelphia between Pennsylvania Route 352 and Pennsylvania Route 252 on Gradyville Road.
John Cocchi
Located in Delaware County, Ridley Creek State Park has a beautiful paved five mile multi use (hiking and biking) trail that loops around the park. The park office is in an historic mansion that can be rented and is surrounded by a modest garden and fountain.
C Angell
Ideal for picnics, strolls, hiking the trails. Mansion is a total plus. Loved it! Just a quick jount from Philly.
Arlo Bravo
This place is huge. Make sure you know where you're going when you go on a hike. Nice trails with lots of options.
Anny Болхоева
Very nice place to walk. It looks like a real forest.
Evan Garfield
Fantastic trails, both paved and dirt. Excellent place for outdoor activities!
Amir Strobel
Love the trails along the creek, they also have a picnic and playground for the kids as well along with the creek being a great place for the kids to play in during the hot summer months. Also during deer season great place for archery.
Anelia Bedelbaeva
Very nice family place. Park with a great nature and good adventure. This is amazing! We are looking for a spring time.
GOVIND N
I hiked yellow trial in this park. Its not too long nor too short .It's a moderate one with inclination in certain spots of the trail. It has bike trails which is properly maintained .Directions in the park are super easy.

I am sure it would be my new stomping ground! I love this state park. The white trail is a good start for me.
Rinkle Sangoi
Such a beautiful and massive park needs whole day for one trail and there are many.
Ted Hidell
This is a large park many trails which are marked. Great place to have a picnic, and family get to gathers.
Jun Ni
Park is nice and big, trails are just right for kids to explore the nature and history!
Elizabeth Minthorn
If you're looking to do some cardio with incline, this is the trail for you. 4.3 miles of a loop around trail with pretty sights.
Susan K
Amazing. I walked by waterfall. Not a ton of people. Parking not easy on a nice day.
Jena Barton
Great trails and areas to picnic. Crowded on weekends, but there are enough spots to hideaway.
kyla griffin
Very beautiful, very big park. Very easy to get lost, but you'll find your way out eventually. I also killed like 20 spotted lantern flies on the yellow trail. SPOT THE PROBLEM!
Linda Cohen
It was a beautiful place to walk. Leaves are peaking. It has benches to sit on. Very limited parking.
Mingsi Chen
I was not expecting such a hike - there are paved trails and unpaved trails - dress appropriately!
Luna Dyan
Family fun and beautiful old history buildings plus lots of trails
Nonkosher
I go here for hiking often, all year round. The trails have excellent elevation change, span several miles and they are not very difficult to navigate. The 4.2 mile paved path is good for anyone who just wants a couple hours of great scenery.
Toria Rubinstein
The terrain and trails in the park are easy and are great for group hikes, solo hikes, trail running, and snowshoeing (when there's snow!). You can even take your four legged friends out on the trails! The paved roads along the water are great for quick runs.
Patricia Oropallo
Weddings at the mansion are an unforgettable experience. Beautiful oviance and wedding coordinator and staff were incredible.
Philly Girl
Great place to walk, bike, picnic, wade in the water and bask in the beauty that surrounds you!
James Rankin
Just a beautiful state park. I have been going here my entire life. When you live in the suburbs and need a break from cars and concrete, stop by and relax in the woods. Humans are animals and need to be in touch with nature. If you can't spend your weekend camping, then maybe spend a few hours walking in the woods on a Sunday afternoon.
Mae Holland
I have only been here twice with my husband and i like it. I love the trees. And i like the leaves changed colors. Its beautiful.
Jeffrey Edmonston
Great state park..most trails pavement..with other thur woods that connects to circle..loop .. but worth full walk around loop
Natasha Smithies-Race
Nice place for a picnic. Good hiking trails, well marked. Miss having a lake to kayak in though.
Candance Long
Awesome trails and great views. Definitely a place to visit.
Terri Caramenico
Beautiful clean and lots of room for people to spread out and enjoy the water.
Daniel Bochicchio
Great for trail running and we'll maintained!
Michael McDermott
This is a nice park in the Delaware County area where you can walk or bike the paths. Parking is limited so if it’s a nice day it would make sense to show up early.
Theres a potential to see eagles also.
David Stahl
Beautiful location for a Fall walk.
Very popular so go early to get a spot.
Mohammed Ali
Beautiful park with overgrown trails. Nice view of the creek.
Laura Rooklin
A great place for a walk or hike any time of year. You can stay on the 5 mile paved loop or venture into the forest on the marked trails. Also great for bikers and dog friendly
Chelsey Downey
Been here before it was great to venture back. Such a beautiful and peaceful place.
Sondra Weidman
Ridley is always both challenging and relaxing. Pick a trail, any trail.🌟 …
J Z
Rode bikes counterclockwise on the paved multipurpose trail. A few hills on the way up - mostly down after that. PS heed the warning for rollerbladers and skateboarders about the steep hill and dismount. It was difficult to stop - I rode the brakes the whole way down because the presence of moss on the wet paved trail would have made it difficult to stop.
1. Excellent for families - trails for all levels
2. A nice crowd here - friendly
3. Even in the off season - some bathrooms were open
4. Plenty of trails to distance and create the hike of your skills
Dennis Vasquez
Great hiking, trails are marked well but can get confusing in some area where they overlap.
Jessica Hackett-Smith
The park is beautiful and well maintained except for the potholes in the roads to the pavilions
David Emery-Nemeth
Middle of nowhere but fun for events
peter patterson
Great place lots of shade and nice places to have gatherings. Well kept up sites really a good place for anything .
Jonathan Brown
Very beautiful place to walk and run love it I walk my dogs there every day
O Olive
This’s first time to hiking and I’m in love hiking . You can hiking , run, Bicycle ,walk dog bra bra
Joseph Smlth
Beautiful peaceful place
Josh Dale
If you’re looking for an immersion into the woods for a few hours, this is your place. Mixed used trails are convenient but their forest trails are where it’s at. Steep at times, narrow, and easy to track, you can have a good time getting lost. Recommend traveling light unless it’s a cooler day. Much to explore this fall
elizabeth loxsley
Great, except for the sudden Rampage of cyclist who think they own the place.
Karine Karpati
We visited the Colonial Plantation on their Medieval Days event. We enjoyed seeing the encampments portraying Medieval life through the Middle Ages in Europe. We got to try on gladiator armour and see the various weaponry through the ages. At one of the camps, the women were cooking a wonderful smelling stew. We toured the home and learned about the animals and the farm. Great afternoon with the kids.
Johnny
I went on a day after it had rained and I was feeling under the weather. I attempted the yellow trail which starts right next to an historic mansion house. I did not complete the trail on this try but it seemed right up my alley for a fall trail. If you walk around the paved paths around the mansion you will find old structures like a pool the family used for friends and a ole pond for sitting and the plaque said it even had a rowboat in it at one time. Now that has taken it back it is a preserve area and is still very beautiful.
Eric
Had a birthday BBQ here. Pavillion was nicely kept and the grass was freshly mowed. 2nd time at site 11 and it was great both times.
Park rangers drove past, probably making sure everything was being respected. As long as you dont act stupid, you'll have a good day out there.
Kelly Hutton
I love this park so much, beautiful and so many trails. The horses 🐎 are my favorite …
Brandon Chiappetta
Love kids love it! Nice easy paved walk or you can adventure off on to one of the trails
Mo
Great park for walking, running, and biking. BBQ grills available.
Marie Bare
Great field trip! We learned all about living on a farm during colonial times. Guides were knowledgeable.
Mark Strohm
Attended the CASA 5K at Pavilion 17. Beautiful park. Plenty of parking. Miles of trails.
Taya Dianna
Beautiful park. So many different areas to explore. Great for weddings
Michael William
Great place to camp, hike, bike, jog and picnic. Much natural scenery and wildlife for those looking to gain wisdom and have an appreciation for those things.
Paul Butler
Great wooded and paved trails
A reenactment plantation, a classical mansion which now hosts weddings and other events, a horse farm, and a variety of 19th century houses- check it out!
Melissa J S
Beautiful place!! I take families here often to do photoshoots. The mansion is gorgeous and so are the grounds. It is well kept, and the garden area near it is also just as pleasant to look at. It is far from me but I don't mind coming out here to walk to trails. Great place!
Nicholas Banton
Ridley Creek State Park is quite lovely, especially off the groomed main trail and onto the dirt paths in the woods. It's an easy hike with a smattering of moderate inclines.
Damian Perkins
Did the orange trail with the dogs. Nice little hike and the dogs love the water. Recommended. Always clean up after your pets.
Yaozhong Zhang
There is a ~4.4 miles paved loop road. The trail is scenic and well-maintained.
S. E.
Love it! Its so beautiful, definitely get out there if you can and walk the trails!
Betty O
Great place to take a walk. Trails for all abilities. They also have bike trails and strollers. Limited number of bathrooms are opened at this time.
Erin W. (Erin webber)
I love the natural vibe here and hiking is my life😍😍😍😍😍👏👌 …
Jenn Chapis
I Have been coming here since I was a child. I've always loved the mansion and the fish pond. We would have picnics up on the hill across from the mansion and roll down it as soon as we were done eating. We would go to the picnic areas and have barbecues. Bring your own tin foil, charcoal and lighter fluid for the grill. My dad would cook and me and my brother and sister would play while my mom unpacked everything. We used to take walks through the woods and we would find these really old bottles and sometimes the remainder of a car - you never knew what you would find and that was the best part. Kids can take rides on the horses at the stable. It's between $3 and $5. It's been a while since we've done that so I recommend double-checking. There are tons of trails, picnic areas... Restrooms that are clean. You can bring your bike, your dog (as long as they're on a leash) and just have a great relaxing day. You do see birthday parties and such and it may seem like a huge crowd of people but it's surprisingly quiet. These are just my memories but now my son gets to enjoy them too. We have quite the collection of leaves, rocks and cool looking sticks! Even in the rain it's enjoyable and quiet and calm and relaxing. We just put on ponchos and hoodies and went over to the fish pond. We didn't see any fish in there and I'm not sure how long it's been since they've been in there but we did make some wishes by throwing coins in. Would definitely recommend to families or anybody just trying to clear their head and relax.
Megan Wilcox
Beautiful area for a nature walk. The mansion was pretty to briefly walk around, but a little crowded with many wedding photographers (makes sense!). The hike in this area was pretty leisurely, with only one or two uphill hikes. Some bike riding on the paved areas, but I wouldn't say there's enough to drive here specifically for biking. We saw lots of runners on the paths, and everyone we passed put on their mask while passing.
The trees weren't quite turning colors, but I'm sure this place is gorgeous in the peak of fall with all of the colors.
Rich Funk
Very beautiful park, alot to do and see
Sue F
Beautiful park with lovely stone ruins. Bring your dog.
Susan
The BEST day EVER! I saw a southern magnolia tree w/ red buds on it. It should bloom within a couple of days. Then I seen my first beehive up close!! Then I saw my first snake on the trail, a common water snake! He was large. I saw my second hummingbird ever in my life!! I like to use my Google lens to look things up while I'm out & about. Great afternoon!
Nick Davis
Best park for hiking near Philadelphia! I would highly this park to anyone who lives in the Philadelphia area. Dog friendly as well!
Melissa Lopez
We had our family reunion here and it was awesome. Great space for big events. Bathrooms were clean as well. I despise public bathrooms but this on here was very clean. Just take a bathroom buddy and always walk with kids due to the opening is kind of behind the building. Other than that, reserve it, glad we did! Ohhhhh and they have pavilions incase of the rain. It's a life saver for your events!
Keith Rafferty
Excellent local camping resource. Provides a clean, safe environment with bathroom facilities. Close to local towns for in/out capability to meet other family obligations while enjoying camping. VERY Scout friendly with Park Rangers knowledgeable and willing to work on scouting requirements if arranged in advance.
Chrissy Bannon
Beautiful park especially to take pictures. I would highly recommend going here! It's a great place to take a walk.
Colleen S
Awesome hiking trails! Make sure you pick up a map.
Jeannette O'Donnell
Ridley Creek has been a favorite of mine since I could drive a car LEGALLY in 1974 ACK
Michael dugan
Exceptional venue for our wedding. Truly magnificent
Cam Bull Run
Great space to bike, walk, or just be outside. Very friendly patrons makes this a relaxing place!
Bill Foy
Have been to Ridley Creek State Park a few times and have barely scratched the surface of the place. Beautiful mansion in an area of the park where 💒 and other events are held. Lots of trails. Nice place for photography, birding, etc. Picnic tables and restrooms 🚻 available. …
Erin Wolff
Amazing park with tons of paved and non paved trails to walk, hike, or run. There are a ton of different parking lots and each one has multiple trails off of it. The further you go into the park, the less people tend to be around (aka more parking and more social distancing during covid). Just be sure to be mindful of what trail you're on so you don't get lost!
Rick Paton
A nice spot for a half day hike. The yellow trail was fairly easy with just enough elevation to get your heart rate up.
MICHAEL LOBIS
Great trails, wildlife, scenery,. History of our county. Of our country.
Lisa Gale
I love all the trails it’s such a nice, clean park. Love going on the paved loop for a nice 4.3 Mille walk/run. My only complaint is the officers in the park, the hours on the website say sunrise to sunset, and we got yelled at for getting to my car right at sunset and being told “we gotta do better” and were “45 minutes late” like what? If you’re going to have a specific time you’re closing the park then put it on there instead of sunrise to sunset.
Hayley Tomlinson
Trails marked very clearly, lovely scenery
Tony Mangabat
There are little niches in this place that you just run into and realize what it must have been like back in the day. The mansion is a treat. Walk the grounds in more detail. You will see what it was like when it was a running mansion in all its glory.
jersey joe
Lots of trails and great walking path
John Reynolds
Ridley Creek is a great place to spend some time outside, to picnic with friends, and to take photographs of nature. The Sycamore Mills Road Trail, White Trail, and Yellow Trail are all favorites, but the reality is you can't really go wrong. You'll see abundant wildlife, small waterfalls, and beautiful plant life here.
The Colonial Plantation is a neat place to go - has a lot of educational programs for kids and adults!
Loretta Yezuita
We love it here. We had our 38th annual breakfast in the park on June 5th. The tradition started in honor of my Dad.
Ann Antanavage
Walk the multi-purpose trail at least once a week ... Beautiful, peaceful, well-maintained
Wojciech Paciorek
This is a pretty large trail park. Many trails do not appear on maps but are still there to enjoy. Horses ride here too, so unimproved trails might be dug up/muddy at times. Still worth checking out. It does get crowdy, especially on weekends. Not the best choice for athletic biking
Jordan Gehman
Nice park with lots of hiking trails, which are really more like nature walks. Not difficult at all. The trails loop back around each other a lot and the park isn’t very big. I suspect you could walk every trail in a day if you really wanted to. It’s mostly wooded and not very scenic in my opinion, so I probably won’t go out of my way to return just for a hike here.
Karolina Urban
Beautiful, lovely trails ( paved & unpaved), areas for parties/ bbqs, & playgrounds too. Highly recommend.
Karen Joseph
This is a lovely State Park with paved and natural walking paths throughout. The creek runs through much of the park. The park provides a shady, and therefore cooler, place to walk on hot summer days. The only downside is that there isn't a lot of parking that has easy access to the paved part of the trails. And it's kind of hard to find your way around because things are not well marked and the online map is not very useful.
Leon Cleveland
Wow! Nothing else compares to God's Green Earth! My experiences are second to heaven and first among many others when I visit Ridley!
Donald Jacobs
I have been coming here since I was a young child and everytime I think I have been to every area the public has access too I find myself surprised with a new area I have yet to discover. The trails have much to offer during all 4 seasons. It's very peaceful and calm during the winter months. The fall is definitely my favorite time of year to visit.
Beth Davis
Been here many times for family walks, strolls with friends, creek wading, jogging and cycling. There are lots of trails that are great for exploring. Be warned that many are muddy and steep hills but well-marked. The paved 4 mile loop is a bit hilly for jogging but nice. Always lots of people around but generally quiet and friendly faces appreciating nature. Love to find something new with each visit.
Endre Seitz
Trails were really nice, the spots where the trail met up with the stream was great.
SUMEET SANCHETI
Park is very well maintained with greenery all around. Park has many pavilions where one can enjoy with families and friends.. There are some potholes on roads, which needs service.
lynne clemons
Had fun walking the trails although muddy and slippery I enjoyed the challenge. The trails were marked well and elevation was manageable.
John Gunawan
Great place with lots of trees, shade, & trails!
Cynthia King
Beautiful scenery while enjoying nature as you walk/ ride through tar paved paths.
Viraj Parmar
Wonderful and peaceful place. Great for hiking for newbies.
Kedar Kulkarni
4.5 mile paved path in a loop, a third of which is alongside the creek. Not strenuous and for easy walking/biking. Lots of side trails. There is also a big open-space field with a small playground. Parking for the path can be a bit tight on sunny days.
Brigit Lorraine
This state park is huge. There's a lot to do in this park, you just have to know what entrance you're going to. They have maps so that you can easily find where you're going based off of the hiking trails as well as recreational centers to be able to do stuff without having to go on the trails.
mitch devine
Love it, my first time there. Must visit again to see the waterfall
Stella Kavalkovich
A great place to take a hike and still be close to home... Level grassy areas to walk leisurely or rugged trails in dense woods... Do a little birding or wildlife watching.
Pieter Bezuidenhout
A really nice and well maintained park with opportunity for hiking running or cycling. Very popular on good weather days.
Tiffany Marron
Beautiful place, beautiful scenery, and you can find crystals, rocks and pretty little branches to photograph and to admire. Love my hikes here!
Mark Midmark
Took the hike using the white and yellow trails primarily. There was a good amount of people here enjoying the nice weather. Overall the trails could use more burns to avoid confusion and I wish there was more exciting views. I didn't feel compelled to use my camera. The creek is nice though, so is the mansion garden.
Justine Rehak
Plenty of parking, even on a weekend, if you drive in to one of the picnic areas. Each area has its own bathroom, though sometimes they are filthy or out of order. Most people wear masks. The trails are nice and well worn. And the main drive is in desperate need of repaving, there are potholes everywhere.
H Cap
First time going there last week. It's a really nice and huge park. Too many hiking trails- you can choose to go to a more crowded part of the park or to a more secluded hiking trail. Just be careful when you go there alone because last time we were there, there was an older guy in a silver dodge ram with binoculars, staring at some lady chillin in the grass by herself. We thought it was really creepy. We informed her before we left and right away she got up and left too.
pradyumna ingle
Definitely a worth visiting peaceful place near Philly.
Joyce Creshine
Serenity and picnic tables, trails. Little overgrown but that's mother nature.
Nate Hopkins
Excellent park for a relaxing walk, intense workout, and everything in between the beautiful scenes. There are trails for all types of transportation means, such as, but not limited to walking, running, biking, yogging and fishing. There's also a very lovely series of waterfalls along the walk-way at the entrance. This park is well worth the time and no money.
Bob Young
Went here to do a bit of fly fishing. Parking is tight but found a spot down the road a bit. It was recently stocked so plenty of fish but in very few pools. (Covid man power issue, not fault of park) had a good day fishing. Park was beautiful with the leaves changing. People at the park are super friendly.
Ian
Nice park pretty full of people on the main paved walkway. However all you have to do is step into one of the many side trails and you have a wonderful quiet hike through the woods.
Paula McGovern
Stunningly beautiful and big. There is everything from a mansion to horse farm to water ways to kids playground. So big you have to drive to see multiple sites. Plenty of parking but only 1 bathroom facility open. The bathroom was clean though even on a Satuday at 7pm.
Shawn Smith
Awesome place to take the family if your a water person take the orange trail
Julia
There are so many different trails to follow, all clearly marked, and it's really easy to maintain social distancing. There are also benches and picnic tables throughout the main trail loop. One of my favorite walking spots
Jo N
Good clean walking trails. Love wondering around the mansion.
Leanne Garrett
Beautiful park. Love the winding creek and small waterfall. Very peaceful!
Job Kitonga
Great park. There’s a paved trail - great for biking and strollers and several other trails in the woods. The picnic areas are also quite nice
Jeff Oaster
Awesome state Park with great trails - both paved and unpaved. Also now has car chargers!
Lisha Rowe
Beautiful forest and easy to navigate trails.
Edward Zlatsen
There are a number of different trails and they are very nice, but can be a bit confusing as they do frequently intersect with each other and labeling of trails can sometimes be confusing. Definitely use GPS if not familiar with where you're going.
Kevin R
Good trail very muddy kinda hard to follow properly at times. But as a novice u really enjoyed this.
a a
The trail along the creek it’s mostly flat with clear marks so you won’t get lost anyway. It’s humid and cool. Also there is a farm so you can see horses!
Robert Sacks
Great place for a nature walk. Trails are very well maintained. Huge park. Many potholes that must be worked on. Great place to take your family , Church group or Friends. Nice and safe. Be sure to check out the Stables. Beautiful horses
Kathy Shoemaker
Nice day with low humidity. Noelle-Odette enjoyed her 1.35 mile walk
June Chiango
Nice hiking trails that are a little tricky but still marked well. The trails would often come out on a main road and pick back up on the other side (no car traffic though). Very pretty overall, lots of plants, trees, and rocks. Good for a day hike.
Sean Ennis
One of my favorite places to walk my dog. He loves going in the creek.
Jenna Moon
Ridley Creek State Park is a wonderful location for getting together, hiking, taking pictures, etc. They also have the Colonial Plantation which is a fun little area to take the kids. If you love horses take a trip over to Hidden Valley, located across from the park office. HV has pony rides on the weekend from 2-4 and the horses are all very well cared for. The barn is well kept and the staff are very friendly. There is plenty of space for camping or picnicking, hiking or trail riding, or just driving through to enjoy the scenery.
Joseph Craskey
I've been coming here since I was a boy and now I get to share it with my children. One of the most wonderful places around!
Christina Armstrong
Cool place for adults and kids. Walking trails, a pond and creek were fun to check out. There is also a mansion but no tours at the moment due to COVID. The estate is gorgeous! Lots of room to pull up a blanket and picnic!!
L Saji
Amazing place for an active day. Love being here. So much natural.
Bill Brock
Excellent natural area. Staff very knowledgeable and willing to help. Great venue event center. Remember to respect nature as the park is where they live.
Karen B
Always a great day to walk at Ridley Creek State Park! OffLeash K9 Philadelphia trained!!
Stephen Kazanjian
Beautiful park that is a peaceful respite from the everyday rat race of normal life.
Tracy Roberts
This park is beautiful and well maintained and it is expansive. It has its own water features, on and off path hiking, bathrooms and various covered BBQ locations. It is also full of history and just a real gem in Delco. Park is open from sun up to sun down.
Lisa Krautheim
Great place! Blue trail was great hike starts in parking lot past stables and meets with white and yellow trail then blue again. It is an out and back trail with a loop on the middle to head back. We also love multi use trail.
Kevin Sweeney
I go here often. Great for hiking, picnics, running and road biking. I love this place so much that I got engaged on the white trail.
If you're hiking, check out the lesser-traveled orange trail. It's a good little 2 mile loop.
There are some okay spots for bouldering as well. Wish there were some dedicated mountain bike trails. But barring that, I give this, one of my favorite and most special places, 5 full stars.
W W Jr
Great place to meet discreet men hanging out in their cars together or looking to
A. B.
Good alternative to Wissahickon for hiking at about half an hour outside of Philadelphia. Not extremely crowded on a nice day. We did the orange trail. It was a bit wet, but still good after the rain. We will definitely be back to do more trails here!
Dylan Lowery
A great park for residents in the Philadelphia area. There are many trails, paved and unpaved. The paved loop is about 5 miles in length, perfect for a day outdoors. It is truly beautiful in autumn, especially by the creek. For extra parking go to the big parking lot by the mansion, otherwise the GPS will by default take you to a smaller area that can get crowded when the weather is nice.
Justin Gall
This is a wonderful hiking trail with great views and trails challenging enough for a good workout or couple hour adventure. I Recommend the White Trail. It's just around 5 miles. I created my own trail as well that incorporates Red, White, and Blue trails that provides great views, varying terrain, and a good workout. Trail is never packed. There are also historical areas, campgrounds, picnic and park areas.
Rob Davis
Always nice to walk, and enjoy the natural sights of the local state park!
Jack Bramley
Great place to hike or trail run. 4 good trails to choose from and a very nice paved all purpose path. The white trail is a great 4.2 mile loop. Also has a very nice outside exercise area and a playground. All around a great place to hike, run, bike, and spend some time outside.
Brandi Govens
Beautiful trails and always peaceful and quiet
stephen smith
Nice state park. Many walking trails. A 5.5 mile paved walking, biking path is a nice loop, and you can go off trail many places around this paved loop. Lots of options. Very beautiful along the stream.
Allan Lira Rios
I love this place for trails. I’ve gone so many times and it is a great place for a nice walk and a very nice steep trek through the blue and yellow trail. I would avoid after some heavy rains if you have nice shows.
Laura Rader
It's absolutely beautiful. Very clean. You can tell it's maintained and respected. I plan in going back to find the waterfall and fishing spots, but it's also great for pitching a tent and relaxing with the family.
Liz Schu
Running, cycling, and walking 5 mile paved loop. Perfect and beautiful. There are multiple parking lots, trails that go through the woods. This is a great place to take children or families to enjoy nature. Remnants of historical houses are along the main path, with descriptions of the family's who lived there.
Elisa
Had our engagement photoshoot here and it was the perfect location!
Annette Seidenglanz
Great place for a hike in the woods with varied terrain, streams and plenty of side trails.
There are also substantial picnic sites for cooking with tables and plenty of parking.
Streams are stocked in the spring for fishing and there is a stable offering horseback rides. There are also places where kids can enjoy playground equipment and fly kites.
Biking can be enjoyed on some - not all - paved roads, which can also be used for strollers since car traffic is minimal.
There is also a Manor House which hosts events and a historic house that has special seasonal offerings.
GG
So many trails, so much fun. Bring a friend but a word from experience bring lunch or snacks just in case it takes a little while to find your way out of the woods😂I've gotten lost. Also check out the rare black oak tree. So many things to explore .
Have fun be safe. …
Mary Leventon
I LOVE hiking with my dogs in this park. You can visit multiple times a week and see different sections every day. There is a paved trail that circles the park and is fairly easy to navigate. There are also several blazed trails that vary in difficulty and length. I particularly like the trail that runs near the horses and takes you to the creek (my dog likes to splash in the water on his retractable leash). It is a very dog-friendly location; make sure that you treat your canine friend for tics and check yourself after hiking, too. That's probably the only negative that I have to say about this awesome park.
Lynne Watts
Our kitten especially loved the koi pond and the patch of sand nearby.
David L
Miles of trails, secluded areas, old ruins, fungi hunting.
Patrick Vulgamore
Great trails, whether in the woods or paved, numerous nooks and crannies such as picnic areas, swimming holes, playgrounds, exercise court, and varying terrain which keeps things interesting. Very beautiful place that even has an old mining village remnants scattered throughout and an amazing mansion/estates to explore. Whether it is nature, history or people watching, there is no shortage of entertainment.
John Williams
A great park for a picnic, hike or even fish. The road in the park is horrible and riddled with pot holes.
Sarah Walker
Always great going to Ridley Park. All kinda of trails for all experiences
Bethann Deveney
The park lacks proper signage and although there are maps along the paths, they are in disrepair or vandalized. Walkers, runners and Bicyclists would benefit from pavement signage to direct people to their designated areas.
I question if Pennsylvania has an active parks/recreation department, because this park needs a lot of attention.
Tim Brien
The white trail is very good!
Rudy Smith
Beautiful day with the family. We did a nice easy trail around the mansion. Lots of places for great photos.
Travis Fuhrman
Took a 5 mile hike on white trail on Wednesday afternoon in mid June. This park is very peaceful despite its urbanesk like setting. Walking in the park is very peaceful and it provides a number of forest habitats. The constant sounds of birds chirping or squirrels and chipmunks crunching forest floor debris or the sounds from water flowing in Ridley creek are quite soothing to the ears. The plush greenery surrounded by a stand of hardwoods that are quite mature gives one the effect of being in a different world...it's amazing! I enjoyed my hike.
Theresa Muldoon
Beautiful place for my daughters first birthday party. We rented Pavillion 8. Affordable rental, we were right next to the bathrooms and a park for the kids to run around at. Great parking and we were right next to the horse farm too!
mike harwood
A nice place to enjoy nature and stretch your legs.
LJ Grandstaff
A beautiful, wooded set of trails with a creek and lots to look at -- this is why we came. We hiked about four miles. The trail system is marked and there is a map available, though we (even as experienced hikers!) found it insufficient and confusing.
We did enjoy the mixture of flat and hilly trails, and the mix of newer growth forest along with some very old trees. Surprised to find an older stone structure and some rusted farm implements along the blue trail.
(Note: whoever is in charge of the trail marking system, maybe try to number your junction posts to make orienting easier. Thanks.)
Joe Ramirez
WOW AMAZING !!! Beautiful park ,Beautiful Mansion.
Danielle :Johnson
This was an amazing and beautiful park. I enjoyed myself. It was nice to see the mansion and horse stables. The Only downside is the dumpsters being right next to the playground. Their where tons of horse flies and even roaches attacking us in the picnic area. The benches where also rotten and degraded.
Jerome Vee
A great place to unwind. Relax and watch the water flow, enjoy the solitude of a hike on one of the trails, take the little ones to one of the small playground areas, cook up some grub at one of the many grills, or burn some calories (walking, running, or biking) on the paved multi-use trail. I've done all of that, and more. The mansion provides great backdrop for photos. It also has a Colonial Plantation. Great in all seasons, and close to the Philadelphia metro area, it makes a great afternoon get-away for you and your entire family.
George Black
A fine Pennsylvania state park in a populated suburb of Philadelphia. With good group picnic areas with pavilions, a four mile paved multi-use loop trail, nice well marked hiking trails through mature hardwood forests, trout fishing in the creek, and a stable with a bridle trail, this park has a lot to offer. I have enjoyed hiking the white blazed trail with my dogs, birdwatching, and fly-fishing for trout here for over 30 years. The parking area off Bishop Hollow road often gets over-crowded on sunny days, so park at one of the picnic areas. And inspect yourself and the kids for ticks after any visit to the woods during warmer months.
Jill smith
Enjoy hiking with my dog here
Theresa Erbstein
I’m lucky enough to be near this park. However it is worth a trip . Plenty to do . Walk your dog, bike riding, fishing, picnic areas, bathrooms, birding and much more.
Noah Cole
Ridley Creek State Park gives hikers a better glimpse of mature forests of Pennsylvania, increasingly rare in South Eastern Pennsylvania due to development. Ridley Creek State Park is worth the visit and hike around the various scenic trails.
Sabrina Seawright
Nice place , far , but clean , big , but great views 👏 …
Paul Uhrig Jr.
I love the outdoors so this place was perfect. I took my girlfriend and me there for the first time about 2-3 months ago when it was just starting to get a little warm. What a beautiful place it was. There was a horse ranch that was there that we got to walk up and go see the horses. There was also a wedding going on at the beautiful mansion that was there. Then we got in the car and drove maybe another 10 minutes because we got lost. Which is a great thing because it’s an awesome place to actually do the speed limit at and have all the windows down. We are about to head out again and I can’t wait. Definitely would recommend bringing a camera. Beautiful place to be!!
Jose Montanez
We really enjoyed this park. We hiked part of the White, Blue, and Yellow trails and they were all well-marked narrow dirt trails. Variation in the trails kept it interesting with parts along the creek and several decent hills. There is also a wide paved trail for bikers, strollers, etc.
R Houseman
Great wooded running trails. The park also has a paved multi use trail (,popular with runners and bikers), tent camping, fishing, picnic pavilions, flush bathrooms, playgrounds, swings, Mansion, pony rides and more. There is a ton of parking, and bathrooms throughout the park. It has never been crowded when I have gone.
Allison Fogle
We moved from western pa almost 2 years ago and this was the first time we felt like home! We had so much fun walking the different trails with our dog! It was not too crowded either which was nice since some of the trails are a little narrow!
Willy B (guesswho22)
Great park that has stables for horses right in the park. And you can meet the horses too! The trails can be very muddy as well. Best to go when it's dry. Awesome park all around.
Tyler Bornstad
A beautiful park with a ton to offer. From the gorgeous old buildings, to the stable to the lengthy walking trails this park is a place to spend am afternoon if you're looking to be outdoors.
Ray Johnston
This is a great place to go fishing or to get some nature in with the kids. I like to go to the mansion in the one area where they have weddings. There is a garden there and it's so beautiful and you can walk around on a concrete path with a stroller if you have little ones and there always seems to be some activity. And Oasis of nature in the middle of Southern Delco. Also not far from the Arboretum which is even cooler.
jbgreeley
Beautiful, peaceful and lots of stuff to do and see. From fishing to BBQing and walking paved trails to hiking the hills in the woods. Awesome and very big park!
James DeFelice
Beautiful, I couldn’t imagine not giving 5 stars even with the beat up roads winding through the valleys
Alese Garstick
The trails are well marked and the parking lots are clean. I went a few days after it rained and it was still so muddy I almost lost a shoe. I ended up on the red trail, it crossed some of the local walking paths at times. It enabled me to spend time in nature but also run in to others if I needed some assistance.
Katie Kourakis
Beautiful grounds to wander and explore. We went on a crisp fall day and the kids had fun following most of the yellow trail through the woods. Lots of good photo ops and a great place to go for a run.

I enjoyed my walk here cause it wasn’t a lot of people there but it’s got lots of trees. I wish I had gone a little earlier in the afternoon since it got dark quickly because of all the trees. Once you cross all the houses, it’s a decent walk, there’s a small waterfall, won’t go for a picnic here but definitely would return for a walk

Very nice place for the family outing. Nice contoured trail, small Creek, abundant picnic spots. We went there twice in one month, and hoping to go few more times on this summer.
Justin Clark
Good sized park with trails and paved roads, friendly rangers.
Craig Lange
Excellent place for bike riding. The multi-use trail is paved and is an approximately 4.4mile loop. Beautiful. Many picnic areas scattered throughout the park. Hiking trails are all over the place. Suggest stopping at the mansion park office for a map.
Emily Barry
This is an absolutely beautiful state park. There are extensive trails, both paved and rugged giving homes, bikers, runners, and walkers many options. My only concern for this park was the fact that the trails were poorly marked. We were fantastic confused and got lost because the markers and the map didn't assign very well. Definitely grab a map when you go!!
Patricia Devine
I really love this Trail. It is gorgeous, and during this pandemic, a lot of people wore their masks.
lance kellam
A jewel of Delaware County, this beautiful free access state park has several maintained walking/biking trails ranging from handicap accessible (paved and mostly flat) to moderate difficulties. Following and entwinned around the Ridley Creek and its surrounding tributary springs you will find several fishing spots (catch and release), benches, and historic ruins. Home to a beautiful English Tudor stone mansion which is now preserved and utilized as a rustic wedding/event venue.
Colleen W
Roads are horrible! Holes everywhere along the roads. Really needs work done. Flattened my tire. Very difficult to have an event, or park without a problem. Congested and trash etc.
Josiah Nedd
Well maintained public/state park with well kept trails, picnic areas, free parking, restroom facilities, and a wedding venue/mansion. Trail maps are available at the main parking lot and in the visitors center. There are multiple places to park depending on what trail you're using and what activity you're doing.
Melinda Moskal
State park that includes a 4.3 mile paved multi-use path as well as hiking trails, a playground, stables, and a creek that is stocked seasonally with trout. Dogs are welcome on a leash. The mansion can be booked for private events. The white trail connects to Tyler Arboretum's perimeter trail.
GM Hyska
It's gorgeous! It's beautiful, trails abound, you can take long rides, they have many bathrooms, you can picnic here, MANY people come to walk, run and hike. You can get married at the Mansion or Fountain on the grounds...
Jared Wilson
This is a very nice State Park that has been around for as long as I can remember, from my childhood. There's horseback riding camping, cooking out, playing baseball, having picnics large picnics with family and friends if you desire. And there's also a beautiful massive old mansion that's at least 200 years old, that is kept in pristine condition inside and out.
Connor Peery
took a wrong turn and ended up here and definitely was not disappointed
Linda Bowman
A great place to either stop by and take a small afternoon stroll or embark on an all-day hiking trip. For the most part, the park is easily navigable and you can encounter a wide variety of life on the trail. There are plenty of places to park as well, which is a good thing if you need to be picked up from a hike. If you are paranoid about getting poison ivy, stick to the circular paved public trail. It is lengthy enough to satisfy people who like paved trails instead of going off road. Overall a wonderful experience going here!
Natalie Brown
I've loved this park since I was a kid. It's full of interesting ruins and great hiking trails. Highly recommend
Kyle Milbrand
Took the multi-use trail loop on bikes with my family. It's about 4 miles and was a great ride. The rangers were especially helpful.
Ken MacDonald
It's a great place to go, especially for hiking or even picnics. Only issue is that the roads are not too good, just be very careful of you are driving!
Brian Casey
Great place to visit for peace or bring a date
Sid Sinha
Perfect Family Picnic Spot !
I am so pleased with the greens and woods. There is a proper upkeep and you can barbecue. Kids love it. Perfect for wedding and other photo-shoots. Above all, relax, read a book, mediate, play or doze off in the lap of nature !
Jefferey Bryan
Great place to go for a walk or hike. The paved loop down by the creek is about 4.2 miles. There's a small lot just of bishop's hollow road and some street side parking.
Yonnie Simon
Ridley Creek State Park is a great place for nature lovers, people with kids, people with dogs, and people who love photography. There are trails to walk through as well as a visitors center. Parking is free but sometimes may be hard to find.
Fran
This state park has a lot to offer, biking, hiking, trails, campgrounds, fishing. The only downside are the roads leaking up to the trailheads. Desperately in need of some upgrades.
Angel Hogan
Beautiful sprawling park. Nearby horsefarm, many different trails to wander. Worth taking several trips.
Carlo Martines
Checked it out a few times briefly with my gf from PA. I'm from NJ
T S
5 mile paved loop. If you're not into crowds, you can also take trail heads the come off the loop. This connect to Tyler Arboretum. The main lot is typically crowded. Be careful walking if you park in the further lot. There is not a sidewalk to the entrance.
Keith Straw
I take the opportunity to explore this little gem by doing volunteer trail maintenance every first Saturday of the month. Just show up at the park office by the ranger's station at 9 am with good footwear and gloves for two to three hours of group fun.
Tami Micklin
Beautiful and safe trails to walk along the creek. There are benches and tables across the creek. Signs are clear and there are several parking areas. Watch the big holes on the road.
Shannon Burd
If you love to hike this is the place to go! The yellow trail is the longest its about maybe 4 miles. So be prepared to burn some calories and get your daily steps in!
Doreen
Beautiful park for hiking, parties and enjoying the wildlife.
Walter Antkiewicz
The park is one of my favorite places to relax and take in nature. BUT the public park roads haven't been repaved in like 50 years and they are in terrible shape with potholes everywhere. The State really needs to step up and repave the roads in the park.
Ryan McKenna
Great trails and paved paths to get out with the family and see the beauty that is all around us. Educational plaques along the way to teach different tree species.
Patrick Oleskey
Beautiful state park with trails for all levels.
Rachel Gudenzi
Beautiful park with lovely, well-maintained trails and interesting historic structures. The gardens are particularly beautiful in the spring and summer.
Audrey Troutt
Nice park with ample parking. I agree with other reviewers that the trails can be confusing. The trails definitely didn't match the maps provided. That being said the trails aren't super long, so if you go the wrong way it's not a big deal.
Laura Gaona
Beautiful little Creek that you can wade in on a hot day! The trail along the creek is paved so you can ride a bike or push a stroller. Highly recommend!!
Christina Branco
Beautiful place to walk, jog, hike or eat a picnic. There is pretty little creek that runs through it that you walk right down to and even fish in. There are also little colonial homes scattered throughout that are private residentials, and are charming additions to the scenery. There are many different types of trees with signs marking what they are (like a Sassafrass tree). The area used to be the site of a grist mill. The park is pretty extensive, so you'll have plenty of trails to explore!
Zach Russell
Been here for both camping and hiking. One of the best parks near the city.
Travis Klein
I lived in multiple places around this area for about 4 years, and it has always been a joy. I came to exercise or decompress - to walk, play pokemon go, or hike alone in the woods. There's a place and a terrain for everyone here, from fully paved roads along the river to tiny game trails that disappear up or down incredible inclines. I visited on weekends and weekdays alike, sometimes as a halfway stop on the commute home to wait for traffic to die down near Philly. You'll see horses, wildlife, ruins, old houses, and friendly cats. I rarely felt unsafe. There's the occasional overcompensating pickup truck full of young men loitering in a remote parking lot, but they're probably just waiting for people to leave so they can do donuts.
Giles Wozniak
Awesome park with a lot to do!
Tyler L.
Great place to go and relax alone, and maybe take a book. Or have a barbecue with friends. There are also great trails to hike. Open from dawn until dusk, only about 10-15 miles from the city! Also a great place to go when you need to think something out.
Amanda Mittnacht
Miles upon miles of amazing trails and views. Multi use trails, plenty of parking, and an awesome mansion on site you can tour. If you are looking for hiking trails you will never tire of, Ridley Creek State Park is a must visit!
Ellen Pedone
I grew up next to the park, so it's ...home. Went to the stables to visit a friend's horse. Clean. Quiet. Peaceful... restorative.
star net
It's a beautiful place, especially in the fall, but PLEASE for the love of God keep a map on you and remember where you parked. Went for the first time and we ended up walking 4 miles back to our car because we forgot the shortcuts. Lesson for next time XP
Cherise Ann
Nice state park with a mix of paved and unpaved trails. Theres usually a decent amount of parking at the main lots(by the park offices). The creekside lots fill up quickly on nice days. There are restrooms and picnic areas near the Hunting Hills Mansion.
Yan Huo
Wonderful as always. Come here as often as I can to get some peace and exercise. The layout is full of trails and different scenery. Love the outdoor athletic workout setup.
Nicole Terra
I loved it! Great, safe, populated park to run, walk, and bike. Some trails are not being as kept up as others but with out a doubt would go back in a heart beat. Its the most peaceful place around. I hate leaving and going back to reality.
Person Place “Savage Disregard” Thing
Geocaching *Adventure Lab* Didnt hike much more then that but at least I got to see old and original houses and the dam which was an epic site.
Kenneth Payne
Clean bathrooms great walking trail great for a date or taking the family. Only complaint would be the colored trails are a bit confusing. But I would still recommend this place. Probably the most fun I had getting lost
Michael John
Nice park with plenty of walking/running trails. 40 minutes from Philadelphia, 15 minutes from Wilmington. I prefer Tyler State Park in Bucks County or Valley Forge in Montgomery but this is a nice option for people in the area.
Carol Milk
Great Ranger service, clean restrooms throughout the park. Pavilions and picnic areas are NOT 'first come, first serve' so be sure to reserve way in advance if you need a pavilion or have a large picnic group.
Ismail Dalbani
I come by here every week for a drive to relax from the busy city. It's very quiet and people are friends you get to see deer and foxes crossing the field. It's a nice place for some alone time or to go hiking with a friend or do some fishing
Chris Smith
So peaceful, and relaxing. Hiking is great the trails are wonderful. Plenty of picnicking areas and areas for children to play on swings and slides and such.
TJ
Great trails and not too many people.
Nuha Fariha
Huge park with many cool areas but easy to get lost! Recommend getting a map of the trails beforehand.
Cartairlopope 18
This place is good for walking and riding a bicycle. Good for walking your dog as well. It is my favorite you can enjoy nature over here :)
Monique Dean (Momo)
Beautiful scenic trail!
kparso
A natural solace thankfully preserved within the midst of sprawling suburbia. It has a 4.3 mile paved loop and nearly 50 miles of dirt trails. Sights include: Ridley Creek, Hunting Hill Mansion, historic homes, suburban forest wildlife, fields, and local humans connecting with nature, exercise, and picnics.
Adam Mullenhour
I love coming here with my dog its a beautiful spot! Need to be more trash cans or something along the way as i see too much trash! Ill bag it up sometimes it's soo easy to not litter.
Brijesh Tripathi
Very good park with good trails(which I haven’t yet trekked) and a 4.2 mile loop for runners. One of the best parks nearby.
Gary Wonderlin
The buzzword of the day is ‘Plant based’! Not ‘Painfully murder deer in Ridley Park’! Help boost the public’s image of the Park! Thank you very much.
Diane Leahan
I love Ridley State Park! There are multiple open areas to have picnic's and you can rent the pavilions, but beware, you have to do it a year in advance! It is a well kept place to roam with the family and friends and enjoy the beauty of out doors. They also have horse stables and piny rides for the kids!
Janice Nepo
Lots of walking trails. Can rent pavilions for events. Saw pony rides at the stables.
Hunter Richman
This is a great place to hike around and see water, trees, and a few fallen down old houses. This park is huge with wonderful trails. There are also several different difficulties of trails. Would definitely recommend this park.
Dan Donahue
Great place to picnic, walk, ride, fish or run along Ridley Creek running through this state park. Also for checking out flora and fuana along this migratory route The only current downside is the main roads running North and South through the park are in serious need of repaving. That is the only reason it gets 4 stars
Benjamin Daniel
One of the best hikes I’ve ever had the pleasure to enjoy. Great place, well-kept and a joy to explore.
John Sollenberger
Ridley Creek State Park is a wonderful natural Preserve very close to large cities. Only about 30 minutes from Philadelphia 15 minutes from Westchester. It makes it very convenient to visit. The grounds include colonial Pennsylvania Plantation and many Park and walking paths with in the park. If you haven't visited you should try it
Chirag
A great picnic spot or for hiking.
Megan Bolin
Beautiful park, wide range of trails for various abilities. Stunning gardens surround the mansion, it's a fantastic picture location. Also plenty of parking and never too crowded
CTL 123
Been coming to this park for decades. Really nice paved multi use trail that is handicap accessible. And miles of standard trails that wipe provide good cardio.
Hanh Do
I went here to practice driving for the first time on a weekday. There is not a lot of people and it is really great just being by yourself in the middle of a snow forest.
Benjamin Goldberg
Beautiful Park really loved it.
Mark Thompson
Ridley Creek State Park has a very nice walking trail. There are also hiking trails interwoven within the park. The park is clean and pretty well kept, and the park rangers often patrol the park.
Bob Collins
Great park to walk or ride bikes or jog. Very clean, so keep it that way! Bring your dog. Don't forget to clean up, plenty of cans along the path to put your trash.
Ted Voltolina
Beautiful park -- we got our engagement photos done here. Will be coming back for a hike to check it out more thoroughly. Park and grounds seemed very well maintained.

Nara Govindarajan
Very scenic trails for walking, running and biking.

Nice park, very lush and a great jogging trail starting at picnic site 17. Great place for whatever and covered lunch spots and bathrooms too!
John Hambel
It's main parking area has this beautiful garden with a old stone building. Even if you're not a hiker seeing that is worth the trip.
Shaq
What's a great hike, lots of privacy, easily social distance, some trails make you sweat def a good workout!!!
Rozella Apel
I was surprised and delighted! It's beautiful, nice walking trails
Paul Taylor
We love Ridley Creek State Park. It has plenty of trails, a nice stocked creek for fishing, a nice paved path for walking, running and hiking. No camping, unless it's an "organized group". That's a shame. It would be nice to have a primitive camping spot like this close to Philadelphia.
It's particularly beautiful in the fall when the leaves change. The colors make the mansion grounds look like something out of a story.
Make sure to guard against ticks. Lyme's disease has been reported in the area.
Raymond Hajduga
One of the nicest State Park's in pennsylvania ,great for fishing, hiking and family picnicking ,park officers are helpful. Thanks for letting us be able to drive our vehicles on Saturday and Sunday for trout fishing !!!
Sara Phillips
I love this park! So thankful for this lovely bit of woods in Delaware county. Even under quarantine, we can get out and enjoy the trails.
Heather Zuppo
I paid $100 for a pavilion site for a large summer baby shower. A little pricey considering the grill was junk and I had to bring my own but a fair trade for flush bathrooms and parking that was all handicapped accessible. The staff was overbearing- insisted on seeing my permit 3 times during the event. Interrupted the guest of honor opening gifts with inappropriate and unprofessional comments. It was embarassing. Park staff who don't have basic manners or are unsociable should be seen and not heard.
Cleatus Vandamme
It's nice. Parking seems to be very difficult to achieve in certain areas. But, the other park goers seem very nice.
Rob Kramer
Great walking/biking path that follows the creek. There were many access points to the water and my dog loved swimming in it.
Dana D'Amelio
Went to a cousins wedding. The mansion was so beautiful.
Mike Petrocelli
Beautiful place to take a hike, bike or walk your dog(s). Ridley Creek runs right through the property ( hence the name). Be warned there are water moccasins in or around the creek and creek beds.
Peter Babel
I'm not sure if we've been 'everywhere' yet...it's a vast park, considering it's in a pretty populated area. But it's beautiful anywhere you go. Just look at some of the pics I've posted. Whether you go in the fall (AWESOME), spring or winter (DITTO), you won't be disappointed!
Wendy K.
Great hiking trails and picnic areas.
Kenny Duthie
Very fun and scenic trails. Trails are moderately difficult. Nice creek and areas to picnic with some playgrounds.

danaa mariee
Beautiful place to hike, relax or celebrate anything with anyone! Always full of surprises. If you happen to come across anyone while here.. its no doubt that you'll see them with a smile!
Christopher Hopkins
Really great and well maintained park overall. Appreciate that the main pathway, which circles the park, is paved. The only downside is lack of parking spaces, which are hard to come by on nice days.
Dawn Merkel
Beautiful park with scenic hiking trails. Dog friendly!! Other people in park seem pleasant & courteous. We will definitely go back.
Rob Stahl

Mare Freeborn
Huge State Park right in Delco. Great trails to hike, awesome picnic spot. Good for bbq's and summer gatherings when u don't wanna dirty ur own house. No alcohol permitted, tho. STATE Park. Plenty of free parking and trails are easy to get to from the lot. U can fish here, too, but go pay the $25 for ur license 1st. STATE park, remember. Game warden cld show up to ck u anytime. So, go get some fresh air and excersize. Disconnect from technology for an afternoon & go appreciate nature, y'all. It's right in your own back yard!
Jen Fetzer
Amazing place to take a fun walk, hike or bike ride. If you go in the summer there is always a lot of mosquitoes and ticks so be sure to take bug spray.
Dan Kirk
4 mile paved loop for walking, running, or cycling. A stream for fishing. Picnic areas with pavillions. Hiking trails. A peaceful wooded escape in the middle of the suburbs..

Wenchao Qian
Go-to for picnic, hiking from a short distance to Philly
Jeff Coppock
I love this place so peaceful. My only concern is that the last time I was a very large family left all their trash out when they left. Please do your job and keep this park as beautiful as is should be.
C Bell
If you're a hiker or like to walk these trails are amazing a great way to spend your day with family and friends.
Paul Millinghausen
OK, but multiple bathrooms are out of commission. Signage also needs to be improved so that walk on the correct side of the paths and maintain appropriate distancing
Marcelo Delgado
I like the Ridley Creek State Park and We can walk there in the Winter and we Rode our bikes Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter on the Trail and you can Barbeque there in the Summer
Jeff Burd

Beautiful well maintained state park. There's a hilly 4.3 mile paved multi use trail and several miles of marked wooded tails
Amber Culp
Do much fun, easy trails that are paved throughout. Parking can be tough in some areas.
Irbyn Bee
It was a great space for a baby shower, and other family friendly events. Will definitely consider hosting there again.
Logan Herr
Went Longboarding here on the roads and paved pathways. Very minimal cars, great smooth roads and some epic downhill sections!! Great place to ride
Andrew
well kept. You don't have to go far to lose sight of the road and wander a bit. Also have excellent walking and bike trails. Parking is a bit scarce
Marie Schmidt
It is only about 15 min. Or less from our home, but it's lack of directional signs kept us searching for our spot for 1/2 hour! There are signs, but too small! It takes two people--one to drive and one to search!
Tara Dachel
This is a beautiful park with great trails for walking, running, hiking and more. I love that I am able bring my dog here to walk as well.
Olga Dmitrieva
Very nice trail to walk, for bikes it is good too. You may use an asfalt trail or path along the creek. Loved that place
DD Safren
Awesome trails and family friendly. Paved Ring road good for strollers. Nice stream along main road.
Nataraj Gandhi arunachalam
Great place to hike. Well maintained trails. Safe. Great hiking groups such as AMC, Batona does regular hikes here. Good family fun.
Michael Broggy (Mael Eoin mac Echuid)
Camped here for the first time... Didn't know there was camping available! We'll be back for sure.

Francis Ayombil
Beautiful State Park in Media. Nice scenery driving through and also lots of trails for hiking and 🚴🏾 …
JT Towne
I thought they were spreading gravel onto the trail, so I walked on it. Couple hours later I found out it was hot tar, all stuck to the bottom of my shoes; couldn't totally remove it. Wish they had put up a sign.
A Lonicera
The atmosphere, nature, walking path, love it, perfect for strolling with your dog, jogging or bicycling. They r also clean which is a big plus
Paula Cassey
Beautiful hiking and biking trails with picnic facilities and a gorgeous old stone mansion and grounds. Lovely in the fall.
John Ian Marshall
Just a lovely jem of unspoiled land, heavily treed and with endless little tributaries to explore. Build a rock pile by one, scare up some Whitetail deer, watch a Pileated Woodpecker, and escape the monotony of the suburbs with some quality forrest-bathing!
Amanda Hagan
Amazing park. Not too crowded on the hiking trails! The orange trail is my favorite, along the stream! A lot of trails to choose from. Very clean too.

Elena Roberta Nicolescu
The picnic area were clean, with grills. A wonderful place to go and spend time with family!
Riley Smith
Finding parking was a bit hard, there weren't a lot of lots. DO NOT PARK WHERE IT SAYS TO NOT PARK. THEY WILL TICKET YOU. Had a great hike, but had to change it because of where I had to park
Gerry Gallery
Not too crowded, varied terrain
Bill Flynn
A very beautiful area full of activities such as biking, hiking, fishing. A perfect park for a day trip. Bring the camera and the kids.
