Reviews of Marsh Creek State Park
Anwar Hossain
This park is a great location for spending time with family or alone. Kayaking, fishing, photography or hiking anything you may like this park will not disappoint you. You can rent a boat or you can bring your own and you are on. If you’re new to the area, don’t worry. This park has so many great things to offer you will comeback soon.
Heidi Granese
We went to kayak and kayaking was great. The Park Rangers are very stern and not very friendly. Some of the boys working the boat rentals pushed their boats into other people's kayaks and paddle boards. I heard them say about 15 times that the boats batteries were not charged, so several people didn't get back within their hour. Some people had to use a paddle and one was pulled in. The parking area is a bit small for the kayak and paddle board area, so several times they closed the lot. There is a pool up the hill (I did not go up there) where most of the cars were heading. So as you are driving to the park entrance the park rangers gated the entrance so no one could go in because the pool was at capacity. I had my brother; who got there 45mins before me, and I couldn't even get in that parking lot which I was told had open spots. I waited an hour and was able to get in. The Park Rangers said to park in a lot that's a mile away. It was 98 degrees out, so I waited.
The lake is beautiful though! Once settled in I enjoyed it very much.

Lovely spot for kayaking if that's your sport. There are miles of trails here. Bikers love the park and you hikers watch out! Plenty of parking though that still gets full - so come in early. Did the North loop trail and the Dam trail. The North loop trail was an excellent workout with good elevation gain. Loose rocks and slippery slopes is something to watch out. The peeks of the lake along the hike are real highlights. Pick a cool day if you are doing anything in the park.
Chris Bradley
This is a great area for hiking, kayaks/canoes/small boats, fishing, horse trails, and other outdoor activities! I jog here at least a couple times per week- make sure you park by the main office parking lot or the boat ramp/horse-trailer parking lot on the other side of the pond. Those areas have ample parking and unloading room- other smaller lots will fill up quite quickly.

Excellent! So grateful we have something like this in our own backyard!
Lake night Full Moon kayak trips, sail boats, catamarans, paddle boarding, motor boats...its got it all. Plus an attentive and friendly staff!

Lovely park! Went with my family for a picnic. There were plenty of picnic tables which made it super easy to find a spot. There are bathrooms throughout the park so you don't have to worry about retreating to the trees to handle your business haha. There was a well maintained playground on the premises as well as a community pool and sprinklers (paid). Just be aware that the pool can get pretty packed if you arrive later in the day! The pool area also has a concession stand which is nice if you didn't bring your own food/snacks. Plenty of parking but arrive a bit earlier to get a guarantee spot where you want.
This park also has kayaking rentals and good fishing spots. We did not do those things and opted instead to take a nature walk. There were marked routes in case your sense of direction sucks like mine does! 😂 Park is dog friendly which is another plus! Saw several people jogging with their doggos on my walk. Overall, this park is beautiful and well maintained. If you're thinking to stop by, it's well worth the visit!

It is a great place for kayaking, boating, fishing and picnicking with family. The lake is very big surrounded by a lot of trees.
You can rent kayaks and boats. Each boat can hold up to 4 people and must be operated by you. The cost per head was $45. They provided life jackets which were in great condition and fit all kinds of body types. The staff were very cordial and patiently explained how to operate the boat.
It was an amazing experience....

Really enjoyed visiting this state park. Even in the winter it was a great place to go for a run and enjoy the beautiful sunset afterwards! Very peaceful. Highly recommend!
kaoru mizutani tanaka
The colorful foliage was just beautiful! There are picnic tables everywhere and you can enjoy the lovely view from every spot.
Grace Li
Get there early or go late afternoon near dinner time because on the weekends it gets crazy and they will close off entrance to the park. A lot of people like to blast loud music which can be very obnoxious and the park rangers do nothing about it. There are boat rentals or you can bring your own. You can also walk around or have a picnic.
Prabha Shankar
An excellent state park , well maintained and location is awesome . We come here very frequently and it never loses its love towards the people. There is a little trail you can enjoy along side of lake. Refreshment shop , boat rental and swimming facilities operating on summer times . Lot of picnic area is available on the park. Either near to lake or if you want away from water there is a kids play area surrounded by lot of shades. Picnic tables are available on multiple spots. Very positive environment and love the people coming there. Park is easily accessible on east side. There is other side of lake which is called west side and there will be boat docking area and small restroom. If you enjoy the calm , not crowded area and then yours is west side of the lake. Going to west side is completely different route. Check it on google. There is no connection by road from east to west. Evening times are very nice to watch sunset . Appreciate the staffs for maintain the park well and feel safe. There will be on location ranger watching the park and any help will be provided by them. since there is no life guard Swimming is not allowed. Boat rental prices are nominal. You will definitely enjoy if you are group or just family or single. This park is for everyone.

We parked on the Chalfont Road side and enjoyed a scenic winter hike following the shoreline. The highlight was seeing an eagle soaring above us as we hiked by the remains of a pier. The trails were not well-marked, aside from white trail blazes on 2 trees. Do wear waterproof footwear off season since the trail is muddy in places. This trail is multiuse and we had to scramble to avoid mountain bikes rushing by. There are nice views of the reservoir bridge if you walk around the lake. Leashed pets are welcome. Did not see any portapotties at the park, and no restrooms on this side of the creek.
mansi morye
It was very busy and crowded. But the sunset was beautiful. We also took our cat she liked it as well. This place has lot of parking space, good seating area, you could also kayak in here.
Would love to visit here again hoping it would be so crowded.
Nil Dhanani
Very large park to find a quite corner along the bank! I been here couple times. On eastern end, we found a nice small hike through woods along the shore. It eventually lead to picnic spot where we could privately lounge in shade all day long. There is also boating you can do on the lake, lots of people certainly bring their floating gear!
Lynda Henderson
Well maintained state park. Nice place to go kayak and paddleboard. Lots of wildlife. Fun for dogs too!
Eileen Miller
Great place for water sports and fishing You can rent kayaks, paddle boards, electric motor boats or launch your own You do need a launch permit for your own equipment You can get a permit from Dick’s
Praveen Sr
Lovely place to chill out in the evenings or early mornings, to have a swim or fish or kayak.
Konrad Fritz
Great place for water activities - sailing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle board. Good for families.
Arun Paul
Great place for family fun. There is plenty to do between fishing, kayaking, boating, trails, and other options. They have scheduled activities on the lake now and then. It gets very crowded quickly. Regardless, a great place to enjoy and relax.
Mark Simkiss (Salt Water Colours)
Beautiful spot in Chester County, but closes at dusk, or a little before. Crowded on holiday weekends but not as much otherwise. On a holiday weekend, sometimes they close the park for overcrowding, so maybe call ahead. Some people park 1/2 mile away and walk the rest in that case. When lot is full, there's no other parking options any closer.
Jackie Lyons
If you have a paddle board or kayak, go early before the crowds come. It's peaceful and relaxing. There are some decent trials for hiking and biking, but nothing too strenuous. My favorite trails are on the dam side. The play ground could be cleaned up a bit, but my son loves to stop by if we happen to be on that side of the lake. He has gone to the pool for some summer field trips and has given it 2 thumbs up.
Mike Devenney
Love to paddle around the lake in the mornings in the summer, check out the leaves as they turn in the fall and visit the east side boat ramp mornings over the winter to watch the migratory birds with a hot cup of coffee. It's a park with 4 season appeal.
Jessica Pottiger
Nice clean lake. Quiet with lots of wildlife around.
Charles H
Marsh Creek State Park has several nice features.
With a beautiful lake, it's nice that you can rent a kayak, canoe, paddle board or sailboat, and of course, you can bring your own.
There are boat launches on both the east and west shores.
The east launch is popular with people coming to just watch the boats, and there is a food stand in this section.
Warm water fishing is popular in the park.
A swimming pool and a large picnic area sits up the road from the east launch area.
At the west launch, you can pre-arrange horseback riding and explore several trails.
A different part of the park to the north, off Dorlan Mill Road, has a parking lot for the mountain biking trail head.
Marsh Creek has no overnight camping, but nearby French Creek does.
Hunting is allowed in certain sections of the park in hunting season.

Always love coming here. Place is clean and the scene is beautiful. Plenty stuff to do like canoeing, paddle boarding, hiking, swimming, and they have a great splash pad area. They have a 2 snack bars 1 in pool area and 1 on the lake. You can rent canoes and paddle boards, definitely recommend coming early as the park gets pretty packed during summer months.
Jeffrey Kopczynski
Beautiful Day and wonderful asset for the community. Very Family friendly! The young staff were helpful and enthusiastic. Kudos to One and All !
Christopher Weikel
What a great location for kayaking! Gets VERY busy and there isn't a ton of parking, but if you can get there, it's a wonderful time.
OnTerraFirma
First time coming to this park. Looks like a really nice area to relax and take a walk. The colors in the fall are really pretty. If you own a canoe or a kayak that looks like the place to take it. They even have a new kayak launch cradle!
Pamela Perez
Great, spacious, clean place to share with family and friends. Just visit it a few weeks ago and we love it. The water was clean and fresh. My son don't want to get out the water.
It wasn't noisy even though was a lot people enjoying there. So it was a lot parking places.
First time there and for this summer it will sure be our most go place.
Lindsey Engler
I love this park. Lots of great trails on the boat side for Mountain biking, hiking, or running. On the pool side you can rent kayaks or paddleboards for the lake. The only issue is (as with many great places) it has gotten quite busy over the years.
Casey Messinger
Super busy on the weekends, but a beautiful park with pretty easy trails. Also tons of places for bbq or just relaxing by the lake
Viraj Gadgil
Kayaking and scenery can define this place! Perfect outing spot with family and friends. Free parking spots (limited) and weekend/holidays can expect crowd. A good walk for almost half-hour takes you around the scenery. Paid kayaking/boat ride facility available.
Gene K
Nice place to fish, and take a walk. The only reason it doesn't get five stars is because sometimes is can get crowded. Also if you fish from the shore there can be ignorant people who are in canoes or sailboats that don't care and will come close to the line you have in the water, and sometimes even go right over the line, the people fishing in boats, for the most part will act decent and see you are fishing and go around your line.
Abhinaba Rakshit
It's a perfect park surrounding a large and beautiful lake. With allowance for sail boating, kayaking and swimming makes it a perfect spot for any family outing. They even offer kayak and boat rentals which is the best way to enjoy this gorgeous lake. There was ample parking space with facilities for trailer parking.
Pearl Groff
Nice paths. Beautiful lake, trees were changing!
Puja Eklabya
Oh..what a wonderful weekend getaway. I visited this place and instantly fell in love with it. It's a scenic beauty, you can take your pet too. A good picnic spot with some added value of water activities. Although beware of the stones and pelts beneath water, it's sharp. Loved it !!
Maaref Ali Khan
Crowded place, best known for fishing. There was a steelman racing triathlon preparation going on , lots of people. We setup a big umbrella and had a good lunch picnic.
Saqib Shakil
Beautiful man made lake. We come here a couple of times in a week. It has multiple parking lots and multiple access points to the lake. Park rangers are serious about timing and will shut down everything by 815 pm, so plan accordingly. There are walking trails around lake and through the woods. Picnic tables a very few, so bring picnic blanket to find a spot to sit. Also, beware of leeches around muddy sections of the lake. We have seen multiple leeches and have heard about some people getting leeches all over the body.
Richard K
I made my first visit to Marsh Creek STATE Park on Thursday 29th of August 2019. It was a beautiful peaceful morning to explore this valuable resource. My first stop was the park office to get a map. I could not find the link to the map on the park's web page. The office was closed but the maps were available outside. I did get the chance to chat with the park manager. She was very helpful and informative. She told me to keep a look out for butterflies. I drove to the south of the park to the small and muddy parking lot. I rode to the top of the dam and the views were great. This is where I saw all the many different kinds of butterflies. They were amazing. Check out my videos of them. I did not care for the trails. They were poorly marked and very rough. Not to my liking. There were many boats on the lake. The park's swimming pool was closed that day and it wasn't even labor day yet. The park was easy to find right off of Route 100.
Natalie Wallace
Beautiful scenery and benches. Picnic tables need some maintenance
Rachel Stephens
Recommended for both the sunrise and sunset. I’ve been coming to this lake for ten years. Amazing running trails. It gets a little crowded on weekends when the weather is nice, so if you like the peace and serenity like me, try a weekday. They have seasonal boat, kayak rentals. It’s also very popular for couples, because it’s very romantic. Being a hammock and read a book or take your dog for a walk. This place is for nature lovers! 🌳
Sherin Joy
Amazing park. Nice view. This park has got plenty of picture perfect scenery spots.
Mike Field
Marsh Creek is a huge, beautiful lake where you can relax by the water and have a picnic, rent boats or other small water craft, and soak up the sights. Great for families.
Austin Felty
Wow this place is breathtaking! You can kayak here on the beautiful lake, go hiking/walking the trails that are very pretty, or even have a picnic at one of the many gorgeous locations with tables and benches! If you are ever in the area you HAVE to check this place out, you will definitely not be disappointed!
Derek Rodenbeck
I've been coming to Marsh Creek for over a decade. I used to take my pup Kuma here when he was a puppy. That was 13 years ago. We would walk up and down the trails, explore the woods, and run across the lake when it would freeze over. Nothing would best a sunset overlooking the water. It was also one of the places I took him when he was passing away. I set my boy down by the water and we watched the sunset together. He perked up when he saw where we were. Marsh Creek will always be special to me. It just because it's a nice park, and there is stuff to do. But it's a place I enjoyed spending time with my best friend. Makes some memories there.
James Farrelly
My happy place. I run and mountain bike the trails (including doing trail maintenance), walk and swim my dogs, take my girls paddle boarding and canoeing. I have even learned a bit of sailing. Love marsh creek.
Prakash Dwivedi
This was my first visit and I was surprised to see such a nice place with excellent facilities. One can rent peddle boats, canoes etc and enjoy the beautiful lake.
Traci P. Miller
Beautiful place for a warm day hike in January! My only complaint is that the trails were not clearly marked at all. Lots of people, but that was totally understandable with The unseasonably warm weather. The lake was breathtaking, half frozen, with the ice reflecting and sparkling in the sun. Playground was cute, and would be nice and shady in the summer. We plan to come back when it gets warm.
Supriya Sharma
Omg I loved this place. Right when you are driving towards it, the mesmerizing view of the such a big lake... trees, colors, it has big area.. good place for family outing and have fun time. There is a swimming pool too, people were cooking, picnicking... enjoying, you can rent kayak/boats/etc or bring your own and enjoy in the lake. Lots of small children were sailing... free life jackets. Overall a Good experience and would love to go there again. Parking was one problem but they have lot of space so u will get place, maybe a bit far...
Lisa Jo Hardy
Enjoy the sights and sounds. Such a beautiful view, especially the evening sunsets! A safe place, Police and Park Ranger patrol often. Fishing would be more enjoyable, more accessible if they would clear area's around the shoreline for people to fish.
Phillip Shiffler
Went in the fall, pretty lake but trails were lackluster. I’m sure it’s more enjoyable come spring
Susan K
Amazing walk in woody shaded path. Enough boats to rent for many many people and certainly enough ginormous creek to enjoy too. Ample parking. May have to walk a little if arriving at peak time. I saw so many families grilling, picnicking. Lots of cool trails. Wear comfy shoes. Lots to see and do.
Prithivi Raj
One of the best state park we have visited. Easily you could spend a whole day. It has lot of water activities like kayak, motor boat, cruise boat .. it has stunning views ..
Motor boats are not speed boats, four or five persons could go in 1 boat. they open all days in September and few days in October based on weather in 2018. It will look so cool in fall no doubt. Fishing is allowed .. there is a paid outdoor swimming pool .. it will open only in summer I believe.
Must visit lake for south jersey and PA families.
J L
Nice spot! Went memorial day weekend...no swimming yet but still could fish and boat if you have your own equipment.
Joe Byer
This park is a gem. If you like trees, rocks, lots of water and need a place to walk, run or boat this is the spot. Large wooded areas covered with trails.
Mason Buttaro
Beautiful location. Great for kayaking and paddle-boarding during the spring and Summer. It is a state park so you need a license or permit of some kind to launch any water-craft or you'll be fined. It happened to my mom. I'm unsure what the process is to get that permit but I'm sure it's easily found on Google. Also, as is said it's a state park so alcohol isn't allowed but you'll quickly discover that everyone there smuggles it in anyway and they'll be more than happy to show you the ropes.
vinay bhat
Awesome park for family and adventure seekers. It has a lake, boat launch, swimming pool and lots of benches for eating. This place is perfect for photography as well.
K. Ray
Staff very friendly and helpful. Beautiful scenery. Can't wait to come back!
joyce zalimas

Tarek Abdelmeguid
When I rate a location, I rate it by my own personal experience. And though it may vary from one person to the next, my wife planned a surprise outing for us to spend my Father's 72nd birthday at this beautiful place since our In-laws live in PA. It was pleasantly surprising. The perfect combination of nature and people. The people surrounding us saw my father in a wheelchair and helped sing happy birthday to him and I will forever cherish Marsh Creek State Park. The scenery is lovely. The sun was remarkable and we found a nice shady area to grill and enjoy with dear friends and family along with strangers who embraced us. 5⭐'s for Marsh Creek State Park! Go there and enjoy with your family 👪 ❤
Anna Woodford
I enjoy all the trails at marsh creek. I do recommend checking which side of the lake google is sending you to, as most of the trails are on one side.
Meghan Nieves
Beautiful! Peaceful and easy to rent a boat. About $10 per person.
Sandra Clark
Such a fantastic park. Don't delay your visit here.

Love the trails surrounding the Marsh Creek Lake. It was a beautiful day to explore the trails. You do have to be aware of bikers on some trails. Everyone I came across was pleasant. The scenery can be beautifully picturesque at some spots. We walked for about 4 miles.
Alket Kocibelli
It's nice for weekends. Spending time with family.
Ravi C Varanasi
Best lake around. Bring your own or rent boat etc. Great swimming pool. Perfect picnic for families.
Kris Silvestri

Debasish Roy
This park is for Kayaking, Speed boating. There is option for sailing too. Beautiful place in vicinity of Philadelphia.
Rich Dillon
The boat rentals is a fantastic idea. It's a great deal for the electric motor for half a day. You can fish or just cruise around enjoying all the wild life.
Joshua Spiegel
We fished here and it was easy and fun... plus younger kids do not need a license. I am sure we would have enjoyed the boating stuff too... just a real nice place if you want to get out on the water, or introduce the kids to fishing/boating.
Nikki Hehl
I love coming here in the morning on the weekend this time of year. Not super crowded. Great lake trail. Super fun!
Ellie Jordan-Lees
Beautiful park with nice trails and a pretty lake. Brought a kayak out on the lake and got some pics.
Zachary Ramp
Spent the day fishing with a local guide on Marsh Creek. We went out at 5am on a weekday and were one of 3 other boats on the water. There is plenty of fish for everyone!
VaekTv
Great for water sports on the lake by rental or use your own, swimming in the pool, playing on playground, hiking, and always has at least the main restroom open. Fishing is permitted as well as plenty of charcoal grills with picnic benches. There is a snack bar which is seasonally run too! Here we are in the wading space on the beach on a spring day....relaxing!
Crystal Dennison
Had a ball love this place. Family oriented 😊 …
Paul Muzila
Beautiful state Park! I will definitely need to come back in the spring or summer soon!
Mary Kashurba
Great place to kayak and paddle board. Night time paddling is permitted. Great on a full moon or during the meteor shower.
Dana Smith
Great place to go and relax. It is clean.its a state park so pets are allowed. Bonus!!!! What is not a bonus people that don't clean up after there pets. 😩. This perk can easily be taken away people. Bring plastic bags clean up after your dog. Don't ruin a great park!!!! I give it four stars because of the public not the staff. Who works hard to keep the park a safe and fun environment.
Nithin Reddy
Nice place to just relax and have some beer. You can rent a kayak or a boat 5 people max for an affordable rate.
Tiffany R
Didn't love the hike we did. Not many great views from trails and things were poorly marked. The lake area was beautiful though and I bet a lot of fun in the summer!
Dana Foust
This park is a heavenly gem in the Chester County/Exton area. The friendly boat rental has kayaks, paddle boards, canoes and several other vessels to rent. I suggest looking on Groupon for the 2 hour rental deals early in the season. Daytime during the Summer weekends are packed so come early or late afternoon. Try a lot paddlefit class for a challenging yet relaxing workout right on the water!
Charles Cadwallader
Beautiful lake for a load of water sports
Michelle Lynn
Great place for the whole family!!! Kayaking, canoeing, sailing, paddle boating and a spectacular swimming pool. They have it all.
skii Matikk

Best place to paddle on the lake. The East recreation area is wonderful, best for sunset!
The park is big, 1500 acres. There are a lot of good trails which I haven’t explored yet.
Jeffrey Miller
A beautiful park with plenty of space for my 3-year-old to run around and explore. I'm looking forward to the facilities opening for the season and taking her out on the lake.
Steve Jewett
Pretty crowded during the summer. There's a pool, public boat launch and boat rentals including paddleboards, kayaks, rowboats and sailboats.
Decent bathrooms.
bts bangtonboys
the boar ride and kayaking is good but the pool near the river took no pre cautions and it was filled with bunch of people and no masks were worn.

Marsh Creek is a very clean and very family oriented atmosphere. Our experience was definitely one to remember. Two hours from home, but worth the trip.

Beautiful place to spend a day. Ample parking space available, rentals of kayaks and other boats are available for reasonable price. There is a swimming pool for ppl of all ages to enjoy. Adjacent to it there is additional parking space with cast iron bbq set up facing woods.
Oluwafemi Mora
The picnic area is very good, the green area near the pool there is only 1 gazebo for rent, is very big. Also it has 2 grills. The fee entrance now is $11 per person, bathroom was not in the best condition specially the shower. My child enjoyed it very much. Good place for the family.
Elizabeth Han
The creek is nice, probably would have been better in warmer weather. The playground is okay, not the best location and kind of run down.
Antoinette Fasano
Notice all the kayaker. Notice all the life vests stepped to the front of them. Not one passenger wearing one. The sign clearly states it should be on YOU not the kyack. 2 rangers do nothing but watch and walk away.
Marsh Creek State Park what do you say about it?
It is a great place to fish, picnic and swim.
But safe on the water? You're on your own.
Nina Victoria
We spent our day sailing and relaxing at Marsh Creek. Paddle boarding is welcome here and there was a wide variety of different activities simultaneously occurring. Picnic areas, bathrooms, lockers, a ton of parking and friendly people are what you'll find here. Highly recommend ❤️
Marlica P
If you looking for family time... this is it. You can grill it up or enjoy the wonderful pool. Lifeguards are on deck..the pool is made for all ages. The little ones would enjoy the sprinklers too.
Michael Hill
A good place to enjoy a lake. This is a state park in Chester County, Pa. It is well patrolled by park rangers and police. Kayaks and boats with electric motors were on the lake. I would go back.
Matt English
Nice place for mountain biking, they have some cool features on the trail south of the boat ramp. If you go north of the boat ramp, the trails can get a bit confusing.
Gene T.
Great place. Wonderful pool. Enough space to keep your distance during covid and to have a fun time outdoors.
Fishing available. Boat rentals available. Swimming in the pool (at a price) or in the lake are options as well.
Eagles Fan Harris
It's ok. Great scenery but too many people.
Poornima Gupta
I love this place vibe. Nice place for all age groups. Free entry to the park. Lots of parking space.
Emmett Henry
Great place to launch a kayak. Gets really busy during the weekends so try for a weekday if you're looking for peace and quiet.
Dina Benedetto
One of my favorite parks when I’m on philly. Everyone there is so friendly and nice! My boyfriend and I love kayaking and paddle boarding in the lake. We normally go on hikes there as well, and you can totally bbq and have a nice picnic with your family.
Joyce Gailliard
What a glorious day to be at Marsh Creek State Park! We decided to visit kind of on a spur of the moment. The things that I liked were the spaciousness, the tranquility, the availability of rentals of sailboats, paddleboats, and kayaks, none of what we decided to do, and an open snack bar.
We should have prepared better, with our own portable chairs, though there were some benches, but occupied. We did spread out on the grass on a sheet that I did think ahead to grab. But a pesky caterpillar ended that option earlier than expected for me.
Should I find myself in the area again, with the kind of weather we were blessed to have on this visit, I think I just might stop again and enjoy the scenery and peacefulness.
Himanshu Pancholi
Excellent lake park, well maintained, good collection of boats. Great for small picnic and boating.
Yaneth Emilia Mejia Saenz
Wowww amazing with Alejo july 16-2022 🥰 …
Raghuram Korukonda
Awesome place... Must visit... Take a separate boat and have a water ride and enjoy the silence. Nice park and must go place.
RasburryTe
great spot. I have been kayaking, fishing, paddleboarding, canoeing, and sailing here. all have been great fun. There is a limit on motor power which makes it great for unpowered vehicles. Never had any problems. Ranger shack is closed on Wednesdays.
Patrick Fleck
Beautiful scenery, friendly crowd. Good photography opportunities and decent fishing.
Rahin Reza
Very nice place to enjoy the hot weather with a lot activities like boating, swimming etc. In weekends parking gets full very easily.

Andrew Cox
We love this place! So relaxing on the water.
Thomas Updike
Rented a kayak and paddled around the lake for an hour. Barely got to travel even a quarter of the lake it's so big. Will definitely have to come back as it's a very relaxing and laid back place to enjoy the day.

Awesome park for day out and picnic
Jason Ward
I always enjoy visiting Marsh Creek Lake. The park is beautiful and serene. It is located near major population centers, yet being tucked into the Marsh Creek valley makes it seem a world away.
Susan Steuber
Beautiful place! Lots to do; boats, fishing, paddle boarding, swimming!! Had a great day! Would definitely go back!
You can rent equipment there or bring your own. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Sailing experience needed for Hobie cats, which would have been disappointing but there was no wind so we wouldn't have gone far anyway! 😉
Gabriel Montero
Nice ... clean I love it ... excellent place to be with all the family
MzBrownSugar
Great time with family. A wonderful alternative for a hot summer's day. Sadly they do not give a prorated price for ppl that come later in the day. I got my monies worth. I was there when the doors opened! Lol!
Robert Cruz
Excellent park - pool is great and plenty of room to BBQ - if want to use their grills get there early
keven William
Nice little lake to kayak, sup, canoe. Use west launch for night paddling
melissa maldonado
Great place to take the family for a day of sun, fun & swimming! Very clean & well kept. I'm not big on public pools especially since covid. But this pool is the exception. Staff extremely helpful & pleasant, decent food at the snack shack, plenty of room on the grounds for your chairs, blankets chairs etc. Which I suggest def bring your own chairs, none are provided. Over all it was a decent crowd, not to loud, no obnoxious teens or adults. Just a bunch of families keeping cool 😎!
vivek dubey
One of the place can visit any season , summer will have lot of fun with kids
Mickey McGowan
Nice rental selection nice maintained trail pretty view of the pond lake thing, lots of grazing areas and cow parking.

Plenty of parking if you go early and several launch areas. First time there but it's only minutes from where we live so we'll be back!
Brian Noga
Awesome day at the park today! 🥰 …
Dan Kirk
5 stars as a place to kayak. Easy free parking. 9 mile paddle if you follow the shoreline. Birders paradise.
Trimbaud
Nice hiking trails.. They have a tendency to get muddy... And aren't very well marked.. But you're headed around a body of water, so you can't get too lost
Shawn Manilay
Good sunset just not gue beach.
Kenya Nettingham
We had our son's graduation photos taken there, absolutely best place to watch the sun go down.
Ernest Scott
Awesome place to bring the family. Already booked a family function for summer 2023!
William Jones
Great time. Kids really enjoyed themselves
Bonnie Stritzinger
Best lake to do some kayaking, boarding, fishing, hanging with family! Knowledgeable staff and very clean!!
Josh DAngelo
Awesome place to take the family for a day at the lake.. However, rentals of boats and paddle boards are pretty pricey..so bring your money if your renting. There is plenty of spots to drop your own boat or paddle board..also saw plenty of trailer parking.
Yas
Beautiful lake and big a good size pool. Good trails
Himal Mgaar
This is the best place for fishing, boating, picnic and photography as well.
Amanda Manzi
Tons to do and explore. Don't have a boat? Rent one? Don't want to paddle? Go on a pontoon tour. Bathrooms were clean and parking was reasonably easy even on a gorgeous Sunday morning. Very dog friendly and nice mix of sun and shade off the water. Highly recommend, we'll definitely be back.
Ashley Murphy
Such a nice place to visit... lots to do and a great place just to unwind and watch the sunset
Frank Suarez
Was good and beautiful
Raymond Lewis
Daily fishing licenses no longer available at the boat house. Most of the bait worms were dead. Boat more was in disrepair. Need to invest in the business.
Kenneth Krepps
This is a state park with pool and splash great.was great lots of family gatherings cooking on grill not crowded.would go again cost 11 a person but well worth it
Michel Rijnders
Nice lake for a hike around, picnic and enjoying some paddling around.
Tom deVries
A local gem. Great for a multitude of adventures. Go on family hikes or mountain bike with your crew. Rent paddle boards, kayaks and sail boats or fish in relative solitude from a quiet trail. If you haven't been here, do yourself a favor and turn off your devices and go enjoy some nature!!
Ashley Battista-Fesh
Beautiful area with lots of things to do. Great spot for picnics and fishing!
Kara Hughes
Went for a walk around the lake. Was hoping to go swimming at the pool but found out it wouldn't be open until memorial day. In all its a beautiful park and great for a day of exploring nature.
Armando Diaz
Rented a boat, went fishing, had a cookout by the pool, there's beautiful scenery. It was a great!
Joseph Corcoran
A really nice to place to mountain bike and paddle. Get there early because it gets crowded.
Karsten Chu
Always love coming here! The lake is very nice and renting a boat in the summer is pleasant and reasonable.
Keith Cohen
Such a beautiful place they keep it so clean and neat and I really appreciate all the effort it takes to keep that place as peaceful as it is thank you Marsh Creek employees and Park rangers keep up the excellent work
Tom Renninger
If you ever see a man doing handstands on a paddle board, that's me! I love coming here, it is so peaceful in certain spots. It has grown in popularity quite recently but everyone is just trying to have a good time. The boat rental crew are always nice and positive. They will help you have a great day if you are renting any equipment. I like to come here and watch the sunset on my board. This place holds a spot in my heart as I come here to destress from life. Thank you to all the staff that work here!
Ruslan Hsia
Fun spot to go sailing, kayak, kite surf, and paddle board. Staff is super polite, accommodating, and welcoming.
Lake itself is big, open, and not crowded.
They provide life jackets so you don't have to worry about bringing your own.
timothy quigley
Absolutely ideal! A spontaneous visit to kill some time! Feel like we found a diamond! We'll be back with family and friends! Can't wait!
Becky Aitken
Great find!!! Glad to see so many people out and about!!!

Nice place for kids.
Ally O'Connor
Kids had fun! Beautiful there. Kayaking was great!
Priya
Good place. Its crowded after 10:00 am. So i wont prefer after 10.
Stephen Preston
Very relaxing boating. Friendly staff, not very crowded.
Humphrey Stein
Absolutely beautiful!! Great spot for family fun! (Just be careful around the tree lines as there is poison ivy.....)
George LoMarro
Lots of hiking and billing trails. The trails are not well marked, and do not fully encircle the lake, so use your memory to find your way back to your car.
Frank Carr
Beautiful setting, awesome rentals for lake crafts, from fishing boats to kayaks, stand up paddle boards and sailboats. Nice walking, hiking and biking trails with gentle gradient.
Jason Quattrone
Lovely place to kayak and lots more to do with the whole family.

Nate
Paddle, I mean drive out and spend the day!
Tony Matteo
It's nice and clean. You can rent little boats with electric motors by the hour, and take them out on the lake. Not too crowded. It's a good time, the kids loved it.
Kyle Wagner
Great place to hike, fish, boat. Love coming here even just to relax aswell
abdulla bintook
Very nice place, Not very far from philadelphia. Beautiful scenery. Unforgettable moments with good friends
Chad Smiley
This is a great place, the water is very clean and its a great spot to kayak. Highly recommend especially for beginners, the water is calm and open enough to practice. Lots of area to explore and beautiful scenery. Only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the parking situation we had to drag the kayaks through the lot. Was my first time there so maybe there was a closer spot or a drop off point I didn't see.
Nicole Wolfe
Me, my 2 sons, my mom, her boyfriend, and lots of my friends go to this place. We enjoy it so much. There are many things to do here. The lake, which is free to go out on and you can do some shallow swimming. Good for the kids and dogs. There are some bbq pits and benches to be able to cook out. You can do boat tours, canoe and kayak rentals. There is also a pool. Is it 10$ per person. Im not 100% sure but babies 2 and under are free, i think. My one son had his 9th birthday party there. It was free for the benches and bbq pits. The park opens up early so to get a spot you want to be there early. We also were able to bring our dogs. There are also Park Rangers there. They are always nice to the kids and pass out Ranger Badges to the kids. The Park Rangers are also very helpful. There was a time my kids wandered off from the pool and i had to ask some Park Rangers to be on the look out. They were quick to help and find them. Everything was resolved great. My kids were found safe. I enjoy this place so much..anyone who hasn't had the time to get there i highly suggest you take a day a weekend anything and get here!!
Kerry M
Plenty of parking in upper lots. Nice scenery year round with plenty to do in Summer although crowded then. Canoeing, sailing, paddle boarding, etc. are all available here in Summer months. Plenty of trails to walk but beware of ticks in grassy areas along trails! Definite place to visit any time of year.
C. Ann Mitchell
Beautiful view, clean, well-maintained. Kid, family, pet, bike, recreation- friendly. Picnic benches/areas with stationary grills available. The pool is re-opening from Covid in a few weeks however the creek is always an option. Social distance measures in place. Always great gathering spot.
Sarah Hash
Beautiful lake to kayak, paddle board, hike, bike, whatever you want. There is a lot to do here and the grounds are kept nice. Several different launch areas make it easy to get off and on the water.
Sarah Jensen
One of the nicer parks nearby with water activities and worth visiting a few times a year for sure. The kids love to try fishing and renting small boats.
John Reynolds
Love bringing my kayak here and spending time on the water. Easy access to the water and there is a place to rent kayaks or paddle boards if needed.
Ed White
Beautiful lake and small beach. Only one stall in the bathroom for changing so I would come in a bathing suit.
Jamie Hamilton
We were part of a larger group and had a great time around the lake.
Day “BadDay2Day” Off
Great place to do any non gas-engine water sports. There is a little beach down by the dam where you might be able to sneak in a swim (but not allowed). Nice little snack bar for a good chili dog. Great mountain bike or hiking trails. Also good for fishing. Beautiful place to picnic, bring a blanket. Very nice lake /park but no alcohol allowed. They may check your vehicle so be careful ;-(
Janine Coelho
Although it can get crowded, there is plenty of room to spread out. Parking does fill up fast so come early. There is a designated swimming area but the sand strip is small. This place is really great for kayaking and paddleboarding. The waters are calm and warm.
There is a food stand, pool, and areas for people to grill, although I did not use these amenities.
Ted Speedy
Great place to walk the dogs.
Raul Rivera
Nice area for family fun pool area nice and clean
Dragon_ God075
Nice place to go with family. Staff friendly.fishing is good. All around great place to have fun and relax.
cany rivera
It's a great place to take your family have a picnic and get refreshments park where you supposed to park because it's not you will get a ticket even though they don't have a sign and Parker motorcycle next to the bathroom it was a tree and I got a ticket
Haven Hwang
Peaceful. Clean. Spacious parking. Cute trails.
Dean Blando
Awesome place a lot of fun things to do
Linda Famous
Great place for a picnic!
Josiah Nedd
Nice public park with a pool, and many options for having fun on the water. You can rent kayaks or motored fishing boats, and enjoy the calm waters of Marsh Creek Lake. My girlfriend and I rented kayaks for a couple of hours and traveled around a good portion of the lake. The staff was really friendly and the prices were reasonable. The park can get crowded during the summer, and once the parking lot is full nobody else can enter. All in all, a great way to spend a day outdoors.
Levon Wright
The park was very panicked when we went in July we had expected family where Union and I had a really good time
Hiroki Kotabe
The lake is great for kayaking and there are lots of 🐢!! …
jackie mcallister
I enjoyed Marsh Creek Park on a cool fall afternoon with my two sisters. In the summer, it's a perfect place for kayaking and a picnic lunch. On November 3rd, we hiked the red trail for about one mile. Its close to the waters edge and a little bit rocky. There's also another shorter trail that loops to the left and easy to hike. Will be back again next year.
Jill Potter
Beautiful area, great fishing! Took home about 30 fish in just 2 or so hours (crappie, blue gill, pan fish) we did catch bass and perch but none big enough to keep. They sell bait which was nice because at the rate we were catching fish we ran out. Also a nice area for swimming. You can rent kayaks or take your own. The water is calm because they don't allow motor boats.
Old Magoo
Rent some kayaks for an hour. So fun for the family bonding.
Sky K
Visited to see sunset. Loved fall leaves.
Tom be
Fun and also perfect for relaxing. Totally family place .enjoy my weekend there.
Taher
Beautiful sunrise. A piece of heaven so close to the city.
Hari Sunkara
Good place to hike! But, having some directions on the trail would make it easier as there are many diverging/ misleading paths.
Nick Downs
Nice lake to hike, bike, or paddle board/kayak. There's also plenty of room to hang out on the banks if that's your preference.
Had a run in with a state park game warden who seemed determined to ruin my day, but fortunately the Marsh creek rangers are much nicer and were able to get him to calm down and leave me alone.
Robert Fulcher
Hiking, biking, sailing, or padding --you can enjoy them all here. And it's a great place just to hang out and grill. Overall, one of my favorite state parks. Just make sure you get there early on the weekends and especially holidays. And when hiking, some of the trails aren't as well marked as they could be, so have a map. Enjoy!
Tiffanie Hampton-Williams
Absolutely loved it!! Great place for family fun! I will definitely be back!!!! 😁😁 …
Christine Carney
Love sitting by the lake and relax while the kids swim and paddle board !! Always a fun time
Robert grzywacz
Such a nice place from the trails through the woods, camping spots, play parks for the kids. The lake is big, if you don't have your own canoe, kayak or boat they have decent pricing on rentals per hour.
Dan Radice
Out of all the parks I've been to, the rangers here are definitely the friendliest.
Cynthia Alfaro
They were very clean. The people there were very respectful. And there was enough space for everyone that had went that day.
Ek Roohi Kaur Advani
Great place for picnicking + kayaking for beginners
Jack B
Love this park. Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It has a boat rental facility that offers kayaks, canoes, wind surf boards, different types of sail boats and lessons for those who want to learn to sail. Free parking and plenty of room to picnic. There is also a sback bar and a shop that sells different types of sailing equipment. I've been going here for over 15 years and always had a great experience kayaking in the different lakes.
Karl Malgiero
Beautiful park. Amazing pond. Lots of water options for all ages. Mask enforcement is lacking and lots of people are not wearing them and not distancing. Also a large amount of trash in the parking lots. Park goers need to be more respectful.
Jay Shok
It's kind of like a beach in the woods... definitely check out the dam...
Ankita singh
Lovely place to watch sunset or sunrise
Noah Cherella
Nice place, can rent kayaks ,canoes and go fishing. Only thing is it's way too crowded and nobody is respectful of your fishing people like to take the canoes kayaks and floaties right through your fishing area. That's not the place though
Jacqueline Rubio
Great place to go, relax, enjoy the day in the sun with the kids. I usually go during a weekday because there's less people traffic. I've been going for years, only disappointed once a few years ago due to overcrowding. However, overall I love going and we always enjoy our time here
Paul N-H
No gas engines are allowed, so it's great for kayaking and fishing. The only problem is weekends it's overloaded.
Chrissy The Weeb
Was so fun!!! I was there before with my friend and that was fun and went a bit ago with my bf.. we had a lot of fun! ❤❤
Juan lopez
Its pretty nice and relaxing, only been there once but definitely plan on goin back again sooner rather than later. They have a food stand, rent canoes, paddle boards, etc. Overall great experience.
varun pathi
A slightly higher priced not much but just a little compared to other kayaking places. But nevertheless decent day out. The crew is really friendly and crowds is decent not too less nor too many that you need to wait for your kayaks
J Ngean
Great park. I go a few times a year to fish. There's some big ones in there. I would love to take a kayak out there some time. Plenty of places to lauch a boat. Bathrooms are pretty clean for a public park.
Wendy Atkinson
Love the walking trails and the blue birds in March
Justin Grassey
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I needed several items for my new paddle board, and they were more than happy to offer suggestions. After my purchase, the staff helped me assemble my new roof rack (not sure if this is a common practice). 10/10 would buy from them again.
Anna LaRoche
We love this park. The lake is beautiful and we look forward to sailing it with our Sunfish. It also has an excellent play structure which has superb tree coverage for shade. I took our children when it was 85+ outside and it was breezy and quite comfortable brneath the trees so the children played contentedly for an hour.
Maryanne
A wonderful park with something for everyone. Great boating, paddleboarding fishing, walking and bike trails, swimming pool, picnic areas, concession stands and more. Even great for just sitting and reading a book. Gets very crowded on summer holidays but weekdays while busy, are still accessible.
Jeremiah Ingersoll
Beautiful place to get out on the water love it here. I go kayaking all the time. Only down fall is the the Rangers flying around in their gas engine boat leaving a film of gas on the water and a dirty smell in the air? I mean come on rangers for real no one is allowed to use gas engines on the water to keep the lake clean? But here you come with yours? Talk about do as I say not as I do mentality! That part is very disappointing! Get an electric motor and stop polluting the lake.
David murta
Love the lake and the many trails. It's become very crowded however.
Amit Agarwal
Gr8 place for family fun. Trekking, boating/kayaking. There is even a pool. You need to pay to get in the pool.
Geoff Irwin
We love Marsh Creek for the boat/kayak rentals and for the pool. There is a part of the pool where a a 4 or 5 year old will be able to touch bottom, but for those who don't know how to swim, bring swim floaties. For the pool, you need to bring your own chairs.
Valerie Nicholson
What's better than this. Water, kayaking, hiking, it was fun!!
epi Sanchez
Beautiful place to take the family first time there love it. Will go again 👍👍 …
Ripu Daman Singh
Absolutely serene place esp during Summer time. You may rent a kayak at the park.
DD Henderson
Great place to go swimming with the family. 10.00 to get in the pool area but has sprinklers and pool is big. Not too far of a drive from the Philadelphia area. Have picnic area. Located in state park so lots of free outdoor things to do such as hiking, bike riding. Bring bug spray if hiking. Have fun and explore the great outdoors.
Richard Perez
Beautiful place for family fun
Jennie Kuhn
Love the trails at Marsh Creek! Great place to walk our dogs - just be careful on particularly busy weekends, not everyone keeps their dogs leashed and that can pose problems. Otherwise, beautiful spot and nice for a family day. Great for biking and boating too!
Celeste Ross
The bathroom didn't have paper towels or hand dryer to wipe your hand and when I ask a worker why they didn't supply hand towels he responded they steal them. We are still in a Corona Situation and it is unsanitary not to have paper towels or a hand dryer to dry you hands, very disappointed with that situation, but the park is nice and a relax atmosphere. It was my first time there.
Chris Kim
Great state park. Clean and well maintained. There are lots of activities you can do at this park. I do wish the bathrooms stayed open year round. They have a port a potty for late fall/winter seasons. Nice trail, picnic areas, fishing areas.
Jared Wilson
This is a really nice place to go by yourself, with a significant other, or with the family. You can swim you can rent all types of boats from canoes to paddle boats to kayaks to windsurfers Etc. Visually it's a very beautiful place to visit. There is also a public swimming pool there that costs a modest fee of about $5 to enter. Many people also go to have picnics with their family and friends. There is plenty of parking, restrooms, and picnic tables and grills for outdoor cooking.
Loghmari Ladtrans
Gorgeous
Sporadic Travels
Wonderful park for hiking, boating, relaxing, swimming or picnicking. Bring your own watercraft or rent one (various kinds available, such as kayaks, canoes, sailboats, etc.). Lots of walking and hiking trails around the lake and all over the park. The pool is open for swimming and lessons (nominal entrance fee). Large parking lot and no fee to enter park. State park staff are super helpful and friendly!
Lord Caspian
Wonderful state park. East side is the main area with all family/daily amenities except camping. One main trail but there is a small foot trail that follows the lake. People fishing use it a lot. There's also a small access trail that's grass and ends at the far marsh harbor houses. It then makes a sharp left and meanders back up to the top parking lot (back of it). I'll write about the West side in another review or edit this one as soon as I get photos and experience with that trail system.
charles koresko
Great place to boat, fish, or picnic. Coast guard and park rangers are all there to help any way they can. Picnic area with some shade and grills. Food and restrooms, and a small beach for swimming. Two boat launches. Great place. On occasion it costs $ 2 a car, haven't paid in about 2 years (not sure why). Near rts 183 and 222. We enjoy it a few times per year.
Cierra Smith
Such a beautiful park. They have a pool with sprinklers for kids. Great park to enjoy the outdoors. I do wish they had overnight camping but unfortunately they do not. Hopefully in the future that will change because it really is a breath of fresh air.
Deb Romich
Piper and I had another peaceful walk at the park late today!
Clara Welsh
Love this lake. Best time to kayak is in the fall! We are past peak for colors but still a nice paddle. Very busy lake, especially on weekends during the summer.
Jonathan GIlland
A beautiful setting that, when not super crowded, is a wonderful way to spend the day. Whether hiking around or taking a boat out on the lake for a few hours this is a great place to put life on hold for a little bit and kick back, relax and have some fun. I've been coming here for almost 30 years and will keep coming back as long as I can.
Dr. David Roy
This place has everything you need from picnicking to kayaking to grilling, to swimming, hiking, bike riding, fishing, boating and even relaxing in a hammock.... this state park by far is one of the nicest ones that my family of 8 has ever visited and we love it... we will be back again very soon and plan on visiting this park over and over again. All of that and this park is FREE FOR ADMISSION with no charge at all and is well monitored by state park officials for a fun free and clean environment.
Sandeep Pinjerla
Like every other state park in Pennsylvania, this is also so beautiful. Best place to spend evenings. Great place for walks. It also offer boat rentals during summer. Few parking spots are available across the shore. There is picnic spot up the hill. Make sure to check the park timings at the entrance so you know when to get out.
Enid Sanchez
This is a nice park to enjoy a day with your family for picnic, kayaking, swimming or for a walk
Robert Fried
We have been going to this park for many years. It's well maintained, a nice place for a quiet afternoon. Good for kids.
Liliya Kantserova
Park is nice, people are pigs, leaving trash after themselves everywhere... Wish it could be cleaner..
Dommie P
This was a very nice lake with your necessary amenities. Although I didn't utilize the boat rental services, it seemed as though people got in and out quickly. Dog and kid friendly. Remember no swimming! :)
Baseema Baseema
My family had a beautiful time here today on the Eid. We grilled and then took the motor boat out on the lake. Very relaxing and beautiful. It is a bit pricey to rent the boat, but it’s a nice time.
Patti Plaster
Beautiful area. Lots to do.
Peach Simms
Absolutely love it great place to camp... Fish... Eat.. swimming
SG
Nice lake with kayak & sail options..can get really crowded during long weekends & holidays with hour or longer wait times
Rajesh kumar
Such a great place to relax and have fun! You can picnic, kayak, hike, bike, paddle, do fishing and you have lot of picture perfect sceneries.
Mark Rhodes
Great place to seek nature and also go swimming in the swimming pool. They have a clean pool and nice area for people to play in. It's also very relaxing there.
Glenn Olshefsky
This park can be very crowded on the weekends. It's a lot like going to the beach. If solitude is your thing, pick another place or go during the week. There is great fishing if you can find a spot, and it is a great place for kayaking too.
Brian Smith
Spent the evening out on the lake with a kayaking group, had a very enjoyable evening, parking was good and the park was clean and tidy. First visit there and I would love to go back.
Buzz Bray
Great park. Weekends are crowded, but during the week it's like heaven on earth. I kayak there often. The very modest boat permit fees are well worth it. In season they have a nice concession stand and boat rental.

Almost caught a ~2ft. pike or muskie once. It bit through my line. It was too short anyway as Marsh Creek is a trophy lake. No swimming in the lake, but there is a public pool onsite. Boat etc. rentals. Snack bar. Rear parking lot (miles from the main entrance) for after-dark launches / fishing.
For families, it's a nice place for many outdoorsy options. There are a few quieter access points for the quieter amongst us. The main area usually has a gorgeous view of the sunset. It is a man-made lake and shows it in some ways (apparently a small town called Byers was condemned and flooded in the builiding of the park, and might still offer SCUBA attractions, but not sure if that is still the case).

A nice place to spend summer evenings.
Allison
We arrived at 9:30 am with plenty of parking available. Found a great spot along the banks of the lake to fish and launch our SUP. It was a great day. Everyone was socially distanced, friendly, and the area was clean. We left the lake area at around 4pm and when we got up to the parking/pool area, it was a different story. Massive crowds and no distancing. The pool was so crowded that you couldn’t see the actual pool. We were shocked and disappointed in the poor judgement of the visitors during the covid 19 restrictions. No masks to be seen anywhere. That is the only reason that I did not give a 4 star. Pool staff needs to be more vigilant of the number of guests in the pool area at one time.

Marsh Creek is always a wonderful experience. I've been going there since I was a child. There is no better place to watch the sunset, the boating is peaceful, the water is warm in the summer, and the park staff are fantastic. It's the perfect place to spend the day.
Chris R.
I have been here a few times and it's nice. Very relaxing :) can bring dog but on a leash. They have boats you can rent I just don't know the price. They have rest rooms and a concession stand.
lauren ash
Always a pleasure to come here! We just purchased kayaks so we are excited to take the pup out (trial run) this weekend! Definitely clean but there are always some people who ruin it. No alcohol allowed anyways but we all know that one guy so if you do bring it, CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF. It's disgusting. Good thing I always bring doggie bags to tie trash up in, but do it yourself people!
glenn jeff
My kids treated me for Father's Day. We had a fantastic day there. The staff was great, kayaks, equipment was top notch.
Amanda Rutherford
It's a very nice larger park, but the trails are mostly just paved and 50% of the "off the track" trails were pretty overgrown. Not sure if that is due to COVID and a limited workforce, but seems like a great park otherwise
Dana Hummel
Wonderful lake for small boating, kayaking and canoeing. No swimming allowed due to it being a water source. We were on the west side launching our kayaks, easy on and off and plenty of parking on this side. The east side gets very busy on the weekends and the roads are usually closed once the park fills up.
Yasaswini Tirumala
Good for a visit, takes things off your mind. Has a nice, pleasant view of a waterfront.
Alan Semon
Kayaked here on a chilly day in early November. This lake has plenty of coves and branches to explore. On the day I was here, even though it was chilly and November, there were more than a few fishermen on the lake. There are plenty of boat launch points around the lake. The shoreline has trees and bushes that come right down to the edge of the water. While I was there I saw several herons, a red-tailed hawk, a belted kingfisher, and several cormorants, these were in addition to the usual ducks. The day-use area has a boat rental facility (only open during the summer season) in case you need to rent. Very nice lake, well worth the 2 hour drive to get there.
Chris McAden
Large lake that offers many outdoor activities, such as kayaking, fishing, boating, and trails for walking and/or biking. In the spring and summer there is also a pool available for swimming. It tends to get pretty crowded on holidays, so the best time to go is during the week or early on a Saturday or Sunday.
Subhasish Nanda
Excellent place, good set of water activities, can get a little crowded over summer but love the sunset here.
Kelly
We go to marsh creek every year. They have grills, a swimming pool (for a small fee), you can rent a canoe or kayak, or you can bring your own boat. It's a beautiful, quiet place that's great for the family.
pauliezee10
Great trails and people. Not to far out for a visit. Biking, boating, or hiking it's a great place to visit.
Scott McClennen
Love the sailing and boating options here!
Richard Hamilton
Beautiful scenery, convenient parking. I have come here frequently to relax and take in the beauty of this area. Wonderful picnic areas and boat rentals in season make it ideal for family time.
Joel Kushlan
Nice little place to get out on a kayak, kiteboard, or sailboat. Very popular, but quiet lake with plenty of space to feel like you're not surrounded. I don't fish much, but plenty of fisherman were present as well if that's your thing.
Jenna Moon
Marsh Creek is a great place to take the family. We went out in one of the little power boats for a few hours. Very reasonable price and clean boat. We had a great day!
Gagan Kumar Goyal
Nice picnic spot... however there is no covered area in case of rainy season.
Renting boats and kayaking options are available... clean area, alcoholic beverages are not allowed. Washrooms available however not very clean...
Blythe & Scott Woods
Beautiful space, with lots to see & do. Pool was fantastic and well kept.
Matt S.
This is my favorite state park in the area, but it is so crowded in the summer. Avoid the pool at all costs. The lake is also incredibly difficult to fish unless you are highly experienced. I would not recommend trying to fish here with kids or friends new to the sport. That being said, if you k ow where to look, this place is full of great hiking, views and year round activities.
Michael Groff
Love this park! Mountain biking, hiking, kayaking are all activities I use the space for doing. Additionally, if you’re into fishing, hunting, geocaching, paddle boarding, sailing, etc., then the park has you covered. I’m a bit concerned about overuse due to a growing population in the area which sometimes has resulted in park closure for capacity, but am not sure what the correct solution might be.
vinod RONAD
Loved it. The lake looks beautiful when frozen..
Kamalie Quiles (Kamy)
I spend a great time with my family 💞. It has a boat rental, pool (cost $10), a park for kids, picnic table, grill, bathroom, shower but inside the pool, food court. I love it …
Tom Babcock
A hidden gem outside Downingtown. Only 45 mins from Delco.
Rahimuddin Hussain
This is a very nice lake. You can rent canoes. We used our paddle board in the lake, you can have a nice picnic and it’s very scenic view.
Maria Colon
Great pool. Clean park.
Lindsey Zionts
Fun place to spend an afternoon. Not my favorite state park due to the overpriced rental boats (we paid $38 per hour for a tandem kayak) and because there was only one hiking trail which was not well marked and had a few downed trees that looked like they were there for a while.
Katie Ruth
The lake is beautiful. There is a boathouse with a snack bar and boat rental. Lots of places to walk or sit for a picnic. Gets busy on the weekends.
Keith Barlow
This place is great for an afternoon of fun in the sun. No swimming but you can wade in the lake and it's deep enough for tots. Lots of on the water activities available at the rental center. Many people come kayaking and fishing.
Celine Li
Beautiful state park. Very peaceful but also good for groups and families. They have kayaks, paddle boards, and sailboats you can rent by the hour. All the people working there are very friendly and helpful.
Clive Mclean
Awesome hangout! Usually uncrowded and chilled. Boat rentals available (many different kinds of crafts). Many acres of scenic hillside view of the lake, a walking/hiking trail and adequate parking. There is also a large outdoor swimming pool.
Steven Petlev
Great place! Be sure to get launch permit for water activities.
Ken Nelligan
Loved to fish this place, but it's gone down hill. Too many kayaks, sail boats and paddle boarders now. Also not sure why they still have the back cove blocked off.
jo duffy
Beautiful park!
Elizabeth Spicer
Beautiful Lake, large enough for really nice sailing on small boats. This is something I've been looking for since I moved from New York. They also have kayaks and paddle board lessons, just a really nice place. Pictures don't even do it justice
Barb Kirby
Great fun paddle boarding. Beautiful lake
Stacy Matte
The is a very nice State Park. You can swim, kayak, paddle board, got to the pool and hike. Personally just driving to the top parking lot and having a picnic lunch is my favorite.
Kevin Byrd
Despite the stifling heat, the canopy and breeze from the lake made it bearable. Northern Loop was enjoyable tough climbs and glorious long downhill runs.
zera bolden
So today was my first time at marsh creek with my two boys and they dad I must say we had the best time meeting new people talking and cooking out my boys got in the creek well just there feet anyway but they had so much fun they want to go back even my middle son and he never want to go anywhere or do anything so this was a win the best day.
Trupti Joshi
This park is full of greenery and a very big lake. It's so peaceful and charming place to spend the time with family and friends. You can get your own boat and practice kayaking. Or you can rent the boat here. there's a small restaurant here, you can get something to eat as well. You can take a long walk along the side of the lake. Views are just beautiful 😍❤️. A must visit park when you are in Philadelphia or Westchester.
Nova symba
Beautiful plane and for free…. Rangers are very polite
Jessica Rose
Great sun set. Was here for a local star party. Had an amazing time
Fred k
Great park. It is always packed. You can rent kayaks and other boats. Also, a nice cafe. Plan to spend some time walking as the parking lot near the lake is often full.
Nikhil Bhatewara
Beautiful lake. You can take canoe or kayak for single as well as family/group. Charges are based on 30min slots. There are changing rooms available and you can even get in the water near the shore where depth is less.
Shannon Hirsh
Beautiful park and pool. However , BE AWARE that this park will shut down without any notice if they reach capacity. They don't update social media or their website to inform people if they are at maximum capacity, so its a risk coming here especially if you're coming from a distance. We drove over an hour to be told we couldn't get in. Nothing listed on Facebook or their website. call ahead before going, but in the meantime they could close down too. Its a risk. We went on a Sunday around 2:00.Go early or on a weekday.
Amy Drury
Beautiful place to walk, have a picnic, take photographs or just sit. Wish they had more groomed trails to hike around the lake and signs of the folliage/trees around the site would be a nice addition.
Sean Hung
Really fun lake, lots of people when we went. Kayaking fishing and other watersports all in one spot. The one thing you can't do here is get a gas powered motor which can be a plus. Lots of parking and no fee.
Amanda Podgurski
Wonderful experience. We wanted to go on a pontoon boat tour, but only had 4 people. (You need 5 to go out on an unscheduled tour.) We tried to get a 5th, but couldn't get ahold of him. They very graciously decided to let us go anyway. So awesome!
Pradeep chowdary peddineni
Such an amazing lake!
Sahar P.
Love this place! Perfect for a casual lakeside stroll or to just sit by the water. It can get pretty crowded on weekends in the summer so I prefer coming here on warm evenings or weekdays
steve shurley
Amazing water sports! There are plenty of things to do at marsh creek. There is water all over the place and a shore line down the whole park. That means that there is a spot somewhere for everyone. There are 2 seated and single seated boats. Motor boats as well. You will not run of of fun things to do here
Anthony Lawrence
It's a nice local park. There are a few decent trails, but this is really a place more for aquatics. They offer boat rentals, a swimming pool, and some decent fishing spots.
curtis bissonnette
Great park with lots of pet friendly trails
Ethan De Cohen
It's beautiful here come on down.
David Carrillo
Nice lake views.
Sarah Mairs
Such a lovely gem of a park in the region! It gives the same feeling as if you were in the Finger Lakes!
Ethan
Marsh Creek is normally a great place to hike around the lake, do alittle fishing, and even bring your mountain bike or horse. The trails are kept up with quite well.
Thisura Meewelle
Such a beautiful place. Ideal to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and just relax. There are trails around the lake which can be used for stuff like hiking or biking. I alsa saw some folks heading out onto the water with kayaks. I guess you could go fishing on the lake as well.
Grant Gregor
Best place to paddle. Helpful and courteous staff. Great hot dogs!
Michelle English
Went on a misty morning kayak and must have seen a dozen herons. On more crowded days I still find quite coves full of turtles and other birds.
Jeff Paris
On our first official visit to the lake to do an activity, we rented kayaks for an hour. It was a lot of fun. The park seems well maintained. And the staff are friendly.
AJ March
It's very fun I just recommend not going on a windy day because it can get very difficult at times. Both times I have been there it was very windy and I went paddleboarding so you can imagine that it was a bit difficult but if your up for the challenge then go for it!
Mark James
Great lake in PA. Huge..fishing..water skiing
Abhay Phadke
Very scenic beauty to spend time with friends and family.
Vanna Martin
This place is absolutely beautiful! Great for fishing, hiking and kayaking. Pets are allowed so that was a major plus for me as I take my dog everywhere. I can't wait to visit in the summer!!
quiandel l rodriguez
This park is great, but the maintenance in this park are slacking. It's not as clean as it used to be. I went over to this park two weeks ago and I have to say there are lots of trash in the trails the wooden area. It's sad. It needs more caring.
Dan DaMan
Very pleasant greenery.🌱🌄🌻🛶 The rest is gibberish for the purpose of easy google points hehehe 😂;

Paul Doyle
I'm usually on the biking trail, so I don't have much experience with the rest of the park. The trails are usually in good shape, but poorly marked. There is parking normally available as well.
Starling Ohara
Big, beautiful... has lots of space for social distancing and enjoying nature!! There's a horse farm on the west bank, and a snack shop and pool on the East bank. I like picnicking here!
Joe fav
Fun local place to go with the family. Hiking trails and public pool as well as a nice lake that you can rent a canoe or sail boat and fish. You can also take your dogs here for a nice walk. They provide doggie bags to pick up after them.
joshua
Beautiful creek and nice little trail. You can bring your dog and go for a walk... VERY BUSY, though, on summer weekends. Lots of kids. Not a peaceful oasis if that’s what you’re looking for.
Jake
Love this lake and park. Clean water, plenty of fish. Wish we had more lakes like it in our area. One word of advice; avoid on weekends, like the plague. There are 100s of kayakers all over the place, like it is a convention or something! Add a holiday to the mix and the place gets filled by 11am. Park rangers need to close the park sooner before it gets so full it feels like NYC.
Marie Lewis
Very beautiful sunset here, they offer fishing, hiking, They have a pool and picnic areas as well. The company that runs the boat rentals are a bit pricey for being located inside a park though.
Abhijit Dhakne
This is the best place to spend your weekend in summer. Apart from swimming, you can do pretty much everything here. You can get your boat and sail or fish or go for a walk with your dog. It has a park in the hill with benches and grill facility. It's clean for the most part.
Holli Hibbs
Another beautiful state park! Great Lake , lots of kayaking
King Snoopy
Love this place... Quiet and very famil friendly... Has a big pool for the kids and a lake for fishing...you can grill there and there is always parking
Joyce Creshine
This place is so serene. There is boating and just relaxing 😊 and they also have a swimming pool. No matter what you can have a rest and sandwich or a barbecue depending on fire risk. Great Place. …
L SG (Lirylo)
Very family friendly park. Beautiful lake and lots of fun (e.g.. Hiking, kayaking, picning etc) while relaxing by the water. Restrooms were ok and the small restaurant has tables if you wish to eat by the lake. :)
Allison Classen
Our go-to park when the weather is nice. Dip your feet in the water, do a little fishing, and bring the pups! There are plenty of hiking trails with small access to the lake... Perfect for doggy swimming!
Sharon Reider
Had a good time.beautiful clean park with great staff. Although the prices to rent the equipment like kayaks is to high. It's was 30 dollars an hour. In Delaware it's only 9 dollars an hour.
Vaughn Whitmire II
Nothing to complain about it's a great place to experience new experiences and hang out with your friends and family.
Emily Funke
Great place to spend a day cheaply
CarpePantsem
Great place to try paddle boarding. Definitely recommend heading over early though as the parking can fill up quickly.
Sharon Tuscano
Great trails, although they could be marked better, more frequently. We ended up doing 8 miles on the yellow trail because we took a wrong turn because we were unsure of where we were on the map vs. trail marks. Wear good hiking shoes, a good portion of the trail has small rocks underfoot. Great views of the lake and damn. I've learned that the green ball thing in my photos is a type of Orange! But only the seeds are edible!
Prashant Ram
Nice lake! Good picnic area. Super awesome swimming pool in the same park!
Peng Kha
great fishing and its a clean park. 4 stars because the rentals are a bit pricey. i would recommend it if your looking for a relaxing picnic with family.
John Phillips
Took my kayak out fishing here with some of my friends. Absolutely beautiful lake, very clean water. I highly recommend for any fisherman. We caught a ton of fish.
Jim Adams
Had a great time! Even in the pandemic, the crowd wasn't too bad. The water was warm, a little murky but not bad. There are also various spots for fishing along the shore. Didn't catch much but it was fun!
jay caneyeball
Nice lake good fishing all kinds of fish. Wifey caught a 6 lb. Bass here. Bobber and a worm
Big muskie here. No launch fee
If you want to fish after dark you must go to west side launch
Timothy Peou
Amazing park to go swimming and a picnic bbq with friends and family during the Summer which it's also a clean park too
Daniela Garcia
This place is one of our favorite spots during the summer.
We usually visit in the late afternoon to watch sunsets, while paddle boarding. Staff is nice and helpful
Stephanie Hammond
A beautiful park. The creek is a great spot for kayaking or paddle boarding. The park gets packed and they close it for new entries if you don't get their early enough.
Dayce Schrieber
Free admission, beautiful setting and facilities. Lake is excellent for kids learning to fish and fishing enthusiasts alike. Boat rentals and boat launch. Excellent, large pool with splash park.
G F
West launch trails awesome in early morning when dirt is frozen. The closer you get to noon the the frozen dirt becomes slippery mud. Go early. Even saw two park rangers hicking out there, makes you feel reassured if something goes wrong you won't be in distress for too long. Stay off of the ice looks very unstable.
Marie Gallimore
My favorite place when it's hot and need to cool off.......great staff and food prices affordable if your not bringing your own food in the picnic area....thumbs up👍🏻 …
Ethan Goldman
Great place to paddle board, kayak, and canoe
Marc Horton
Always love Marsh Creek. Tranquil place frequented by families, fishermen and dogs on leash. Sunsets can be wonderful! Refreshment stand closed early, but nearby
Carllino's has great Italian takeout and ice cream.
Andrey Rusavuk
Every time and every season nice here...
Shamiqua Dalie
Awe 😍 nice little getaway, my 3 yr old daughter swore she was at the beach, they have boat rental, u can cook out nice family friendly environment …
Molly Harper
Beautiful park with excellent hiking, fishing and mountain biking. They also have grills, a pool open to the public and a swimming area in the lake.
Anthony Spangler
Great place for the family. We really enjoy kayaking and it is never too busy.
