Reviews of Codorus State Park
Gorgeous park! Beautiful views all over. We visited to play on the Disc Golf courses, and they were alot of fun! It was a really pretty park to explore, and the well spaced, very clean and well stocked bathrooms were a delightful surprise! I really enjoyed the Red course, fun wooded parts and some right by the water too. We will definitely be back to visit again.
The park is a very large and beautiful park with so many activities to do with yourself or family and friends. On this stay we rented a Yurt inside of the camp grounds. The Yurt was a neat experience, it's in between a tent and a cabin. Had a refrigerator, counter top stove and microwave. It also sleeps up to 5 people. Had an amazing time and will be back to stay again.
Codorus State Park is very big and is dominated by the lake. I have never fished here since I move to this area a year ago, but I intend to this summer. I am told by many that the fishing is good.
The ranger station has a wildlife display that I found very informative and interesting. There is also a public swimming pool that looks impressive and also a memorial to the U.S. Military that is good to visit.
On my first visit to the park I came within 200 feet of a Doe & buck that just hopped out of the woods. We stood staring each other down until my reaching for my camera spooked them away.
I have been back many times and enjoy each visit.
Love this lake so clean and relaxing. Perfect for fishing, kayaking and boating. Swimming in the lake is prohibited but when it's 90° outside who's going to stop the kids from having a little fun! Lake has a swimming pool, kiddy pad, kayak and canoe rentals as well as platoon boats, fishing boats etc. I suggest calling ahead for boats they go quick! OVERALL THE BEST LAKE EVER! Only downside is the food truck isn't always open and after spending the day on the lake and not bringing food is a dussie. 😊
This is a beautiful lake with multiple access points. The facilities are clean and well kept. We visited on a Sunday afternoon, and struggled to find an available picnic table with a water view. We ended up eating dinner in a wooded area, I just wish there was more water access in the day use areas. Otherwise, it was great to paddle around the lake for an afternoon.
My family and I have really enjoyed all of our trips to codorus for summer time drive up camping. There is a lot to do with in the park, nice trails, and even some fishing spots. There is a fair amount of wild life for viewing and good bird watching as well.
It does get significantly crowded in the peak season and around the summer holidays, but overall rules are enforced and campers typically do not get rowdy. Like all campgrounds the experience depends on the site you pick. We are tenters so some visits were better than others due to site selection and neighbors. Definitely recommend the “roughing it” sites if you are a renter looking for a quiet more “authentic” experience.
Large park and campground. Campground is fairly well maintain, though some does could use some TLC. Does are well spaced and bathhouses taken care of. Challenging disk golf courses.
Beautiful park with a lot to offer. Fishing, boat rentals, swimming, disc golf, and hiking trails.
My only negative is the condition of the boat rentals. There are many pontoon boats that have not been cared for. I recommend renting the (level 4) 12 person boats since they are new and in the best shape.
You can see that the blue boat is new and in great shape. The other (level 1) is very old with torn vinyl and in desperate need of cleaning.
All that's needed at this park is for a paved walking trail around the perimeter of it. But other than that, this park has everything, boating, restrooms, fountains, a marina, beautiful Rolling Hills of South Central Pennsylvania and it is strikingly beautiful in the fall season.
Great get away for the day. You can rent a kayak for a couple hours and enjoy with friends and family. You can also walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenic views.
Beautiful park with nice hikes to and around the lake. Campsites are not particularly level, some are a little short for long campers. There are plenty of wheelchair accessible facilities and a pet loop at the campground.
Beautiful clean park, free entrance and numerous opportunities for enjoyment. Disc golf, fishing, hiking at Laho trail, picnicking, camping, rentals for paddle boats, kayak, pontoon boats, biking or walking along the winding roads. Not sure if the swimming pool is open after the pandemic. Been a regular visitor and it’s always a wonderful experience. Read that the park has other programs they offer year round. We’ll definitely check them out…
Love this place. I enjoy allowing my kids to swim in clean water. Make sure you bring a trash bag because this park is carry in and carry out. Sailboat launch typically has the nicest and cleanest bathrooms.
A wonderful State Park. Camped the weekend and had a great time with friends. Had some luck fishing from the bank in one of the coves. Did some lite hiking around the campground area. Will most certainly be back with our boat.
I love the variety of trees and fall colors here. I'm not one for disc golf, but the drive is worth the foliage. 🤩
Great state park, with camping, easy to moderate hiking trails, disc golf, and lake. The B loop in campground is great, with full hookups and pets allowed. Stayed at site 50, very nice.

Great park to visit, either for the day or for a week camping. Extremely friendly staff leaves you wishing everyone was like them.
Nice park. Trails are marked and maintained. Quiet place. Some trash on the trails.
Water is beautiful. Be sure to wear water shoes to swim kids can get cut on random things in the water. Nice place for pets and boat riding
I love this State Park. The pool is beautiful but does cost money. I think it was $5 since we were camping and from Pennsylvania. The sites are nice and spacious. If you are tent camping I would definitely get an electric site. The tent only sites towards the lake are all on a slopes. Lake Marburg is a beautiful lake. It can definitely get busy on the weekends so plan accordingly and know the rules of boating. Fishing is really good if you know where to go.
It's a boater's delight. Codorus has many small peninsulas that jut into the lake. As a result, there are boat launches all around the lake. Or maybe you want to keep your boat at the park. You can do that. No boat? Stop at the rental center. You can rent all sizes up to some so big, you may see yourself as Captain Stubing. Bring that white hat and white sailing jacket and welcome your 15 guests aboard.
There are great camp sites and one of the best camp host sites I've seen at a park. There's a pool, but try and keep people out of this lake. It's just too pretty not to wade in (remember though, no swimming here). Keep that head out of the water and arms at your side.
This park even has a gift shop. Definitely a weekend worth of fun.

Not very friendly to guests. Good place to take a vacation though. Not a whole lot of money. Nice playground. Kids had a blast on their skateboards. This is a hilly place. There is also a parh down to the water. Our kids swam there two years ago. I hear there is a pool too although it was out of season.
Absolutely beautiful, one of the best State Parks I've ever visited. Extremely clean and full of beautiful views at every turn!! I would definitely recommend this location for a relaxing day with the family.... “There’s nothing like a beautiful sunset to end a healthy day”.
Beautiful lake and nicely wooded campground. A few spots are in a field with no trees. Site 50 with full hookup is pictures in this review.
What an amazing State park. Nice campsites with lots of space, and an amazing pool for kids. The sites had electric 30amp hookup, but no water. Water spigots were nearby though.
There was a great Ranger program about bats, along with other programs all weekend. Restrooms were clean, but the dumpster was overflowing by the end of the weekend. It was Labor Day weekend, so I imagine trash pickup was delayed. We were not camped near the dumpster, but there were a couple families that were, I can imagine it being a bit of a nuisance.
Overall, staff, which consisted of a ranger and a few volunteers, were very nice and very helpful. Planning on camping here again (but will avoid the area near the restroom, dumpster).
Trail of treats was so much fun. My group, ages 5 - 9 , had a great time. Very crowded but the flow was good. Getting into the camping area was the most challenging part. Very long slow moving line to get checked in.
Nice place for kayak they have trails to walk a pool and camping
Really beautiful state park. Boat rentals. Fishing. Grilling. Goose Poop. Eagles, Osprey, sunsets. No swimming in the lake... lol. Might as well hire some Life Guards. Disc Golf. Open hills for sun soaking or painting. Wild cats all over the place to keep rodents and chipmunks from terrorizing your picnic.
Love this state park. The cg is beautiful and the lake is gorgeous! We stayed in the Bluebird cabin. It has a big front porch w/big picnic table, 2 sets of bunk beds, one has a double bed on the bottom, a ceiling fan, a standing floor fan, and a small table w/benches, electric outlets, and electric heater. No pets allowed.
There's so much to see, you can kayak all day here.
It Was Invigorating To See, Camp and Experience The Beauty Of Mother Nature @snapshotanderson #Artist Photographer
1st time there it was a spur of the moment trip. Very pretty dont know enough about it to give it a 5 star but from what I did see could be 5.
The pool is awesome. Clean and life guards really watching out. The only bad thing was we got food there at concession stand. We got a chicken tender meal and normally you get 2 tenders. We got 1 and a 1/4 of one. I went to ask about it. They're response was we only give you that amount now on. For $10.00 that's just wrong.
One of the best parks in Pennsylvania. One place you have to visit at least once in your life. Certain times of the year if you check out one of their beach areas there will be tons of vultures, you should be careful but as long as you stay away from them they won't bother you.
It's actually really beautiful to see animals so close up.
There are many activities here to do and there's also a place where you can rent boats.
Went kayaking here for the first time. Launched from Hoff Rd. It was beautiful, calm and quiet.
Came to play disc golf (played the blue course). It is a pretty wooded course, so you don't have a big arm to score well, accuracy is awarded here. On windy days this is the perfect course to play at Codorus, because we didn't feel any of it the entire round. Definitely will be going back to play this course again and try out the other two courses as well.
Great Lake lots of fish.
Things to do for all ages snack bar boat rentals water park kids play area.
Can also go camping hiking trails kayaks canoes paddle boards pontoon boats disc golf
Highly suggest this area for fun in the outdoors.
I was having a stressful week when a friend called and was like “want to work from a park in Pennsylvania?” I decided that nothing is stressful when you are chilling in a hammock and joined him on a last minute camping trip to PA!
Neither of us had heard of this park, but it was an easy drive and had some wonderful facilities. We walked a lot, enjoyed nature, froze ourselves at night (ooops needed more blankets!), and worked from hammocks. I was absolutely right that everything is better in a hammock!
My dog loved having free reign of the campsite with his long leash and decided the camping life was for him. I had never taken my chihuahua camping before (I’m not really a camper) and was happy he had a lot of fun.
Other campers were fun to meet, the comfort station was really great and easy to get to, and despite being a little chilly at night, this was the perfect get away for a fall busy season. Cell service was pretty great so I didn’t have any trouble working on the road.
I would absolutely return to this park, but next time with more blankets and my telescope for good star viewing.
I’m only rating the park for disc golfing course. I’m not an regular park person so this course was fun.
I joined my husband disc golfing on the blue course and it was fun.
The course was easy to follow although there were a couple of holes that could’ve had better directions to the next tee pad.
Hole 15 has us baffled a bit due to the shrubbery.
My husband stated the tee pads were in good condition.
The QR code for a map of the course was good.
It had a good mixture of elevation for me to get some exercise. The ONLY negative thing I really disliked was that the park had a lot of black walnut trees that is a potential walking hazard. I wasn’t paying attention and almost slipped on it.
Other than that I thought the park was clean, nice signs for park information but I would recommend adding some trash bins.
Beautiful, clean, with picnic tables, pavilion, band shell for local bands to perform in the summer. Horse trails in the woods, great for hiking along the lake! Bird watching area, benches for viewing. Restrooms available in certain areas, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, pontoons, small motorized boats allowed. No swimming in lake.
No lifeguards on duty.
A very huge park with a huge lake inside with enormous amount of spots for picnicking and boating. If you don’t have a boat no worries. Boats can be rented inside at genuine rates.
There’s a visitor station where you could find employees and rangers in case of any questions. They are super friendly. Find an opportunity to talk to them.
Grab your boat, grill, food and family and kids for picking here.
Stayed at the Bluebird Cottage. Was very nice. Mostly quiet campground, aside from neighbors having a yippy dog and a few children. Very peaceful, nice views. Fishing can be a bit sparse, but it's fun nonetheless.
Came here on the July 4th weekend on a gorgeous sunny day. The blue sky, patchy white clouds, and green lake water look heavenly. Many people came for water sports and family picnic, but the crowd seemed manageable in social distancing if you were careful.
There for three rainy day. Will have to come back to explore the full park and all it has to offer.
Absolutely one of the best State Parks I've ever visited. Extremely clean and full of beautiful views at every turn!! I would definitely recommend this location for a relaxing day with the family.
This park is great. Very scenic and lots to explore. Kayaking, fishing and boating. Great hiking. Wonderful place to spend the day with a family. Lots of nature and wildlife.
This place is awesome. So many relaxing things to do here and the have a restroom that doesn't smell...😆 you can go fishing but make sure you have your license. They have boat rental and even a pool that have a fee to enter. Play baseball or just out and enjoy. So have fun when you visit and be nice and respectful to each other. …
Great place to kayak. Depending on weather conditions water can be choppy. This is a huge lake with 26 miles of shoreline. It can accommodate sailboats, pontoon boats and large motor boats which will cause wakes as well.
Such a Great lake to visit. The sunsets can be very enjoyable to watch. So many pats to walk. Hiking and biking trails plus a large community pool. There are several places to park around the lake and take in all the scenery. Here are a few photos I took from my perspective!
We go here every year after the school year ends and the lake is always gorgeous. Also a great place to practice driving if you have your permit.
I'm from California and while visiting my in-laws this past weekend, my husband finally had a chance to take me here. This was our fist time visit in the fall so I got to see Codorus in ALL of it's beauty! We romped around in the leaves on Saturday and went for a walk on one of the trails in Sunday. It's a great place for families and absolutely GORGEOUS during the fall!
We camped at Codorus State Park for the first time in August. We really love this Campground! There is a wide variety of sites so finding one that you like should not be difficult, there are some in wide-open park-like settings, and some that are treed. For the most part we didn't notice any that really seem to be right on top of each other, but we think the site we got was the best one in the park. We were in 138, which was huge and had nice open flat areas for the tent, there were actually three spots that we could have put it on, and lots of trees to hang our hammocks and options for our tarps, but there was no chance of rain at all that weekend so we did not hang tarps. Those trees were bare however until very far up, so they did not afford any privacy, but we definitely were not on top of the people next door anyway so it was just how we like it. There is some hiking, not strenuous climbing mountains hiking, mostly easy, and the lake was the biggest attraction for me. We rented the biggest pontoon boat for 2 hours, about $150, and had a great time. Campground bath houses were very clean, nice hot showers with great showerhead that stayed on without pushing a button. Our site was close to the bath, a trail head, and field where we lay in the sun and played frisbee. We are definitely going back!
I really like Codorus state park. They have a great campground with nice sites and good clean bathrooms. They also have a great Marina and some very nice disc golf courses. I enjoy going there and watching the sunset, or just sitting and looking out over the water. Make sure you check it out with your family. 5 stars!
Perfect place to walk and for picnic. Very relaxing, there’s benches and tables facing to the water so you can have your meal in there.
A great family friendly place to have some great camping, hikes, and water fun! The sites are clean and up to date with fire pit and a spot for tents. I enjoy it very much!
A very relaxing place to go anytime of the year. From swimming, boating, horse trails or just walking around, this place is wonderful. I recommend going when it's warm out or when the water is low, there's a lot more to see. It's a great place for pets or get togethers with friends or family.
Brought the entire famiky and extended family. Rented a 16 person pontoon. More than enough space for 16 people. Staff was super nice and they had amazing accommodations even amid COVID-19
What an awesome experience it was! First time tent camping! Great park! Our site was couple feet from the water! Water was clear and warm (we went in July). It was breathtaking just to even look at. The tent sites were large with plenty of space and with enough privacy! The camp shop was small but had the needed essentials. People were very friendly and inviting. Everyone had a blast fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming and just having a good time. Definitely recommend this camp ground to anyone looking for a good experience. We will definitely be back! Thank you for such wonderful memories!
The ranger we first talked to misled us about availability and after leaving a bad RV park and arriving at Codorus, we found out they were booked solid. The park looked like it would of been a very peaceful spot to stay. Maybe next time.
Gorgeous disc golf course!
This place is awesome family get away for weekend day week get a ways plenty of nature the camp site staff is awesome as well, enjoy life
The Mountain Bike Trails located at the lot on Bankert Rd are well maintained. The full loop is about 9-10 miles & ridden enough/maintained to keep them fun all year long. The features are mild & there are a few jumps & berms, but the tight turns are the best feature of this area. Not too many roots or rocks to navigate, but the tight curves make it fun. Fun for all levels of experience, but beginners & intermediates should find it manageable while working on balance.
Beautiful and clean! Such a nice park for hiking, camping, fishing and relaxing.
My family and I loved it here! The lake is beautiful, the campground and staff are so friendly, and the best part was they had church on Sunday with children's church! I hope they continue to offer church on Sunday and we will continue to use this campground as our home away from home!
This park is always lovely to ride. People are friendly and trails are well kept!
This campground is so nice and a good bit of the sites are roomy. The price is right, but most sites are only electric. The bathhouses are more rustic, but well kept. The public pool and lake are very close to the campground. We love caming here and also do the Halloween event "Trail of Treats " which is our camping we wait for all year!
Took my black German shepherd and husky here. Extremely beautiful place to walk around and allow them to release their energy at! Enough incline for a good workout on the walk but not so much that you cant move the next day.... if you're looking for a good scenic walk for yourself, or just a good place to bring the fur babies then this is your spot. When it rains the day before it gets muddy in places that makes it impossible to go through without getting it on you, so just prepare for that. Other than that, go out and enjoy this beautiful park.
Colby - young man at marina rental was AWESOME, such a BEAUTIFUL LAKE!!! a.d well kept state park a.d campground
Boating, picnicking, pavilions, kayaks, sailing, walking, Veterans Memorial, fishing, horse riding, just a great place for family time or being alone. Close to shipping, yet secluded. The history is this man-made lake is fascinating. My Grandma's childhood farm home property is at the bottom of the lake.
These fabulous place can be enjoyable for everyone! Bikers doggies families kids
One of my happy places! We put our kayak in where there is a kayak rental and find all sorts of hidden places full of adventure and wildlife! A fabulous and diverse park.
You can explore this park for days and still not see it all. There are boat rentals, a camp ground, pavilions for rent, great programs by the local park rangers, great fishing (bass tournaments!), Other amazing events put on by "the friends of Codorus" and don't miss the Codorus Blast at the end of June.
Gorgeous campground, tons to do. Our family had a blast out in the Roughin' It area, and we'll definitely be back!
Interestingly found people are swimming where there is a warning that swimming is not allowed. Average park like any other out there. They could spend a little more money on cleaning. Good thing is there are so many ramps to access water.
CSP a beautiful quiet park, very clean and family oriented. However, we were a little dismayed when the children wanted to go swimming and the pool was not on the campsite. You literally had to drive to the pool, which is open to the public, pay a fee to use the pool. I feel this should have been focus on more on their website. Other than that we spent most of our time sightseeing off site. But we truly had a great time.
This is the first time I was ever on codorus lake in a boat. Also it was the first time that my blood brother had his boat on the lake.
We did a little sightseeing and then we decided to go do some fishing. Caught a couple catfish and a couple small perch, release them all back into the lake but I'm grow bigger for the next time.
My blood Brothers been on the lake numerous times on a boat before but the boats were owned by friends of his or relatives of his. So that evening he decided to take me a tour up towards the dam and out past the marinas before we brought the boat back and put it on the trailer. Beautiful beautiful scenery not many boaters out due to the fact they were calling for rain earlier in the evening and it passed over had a brief shower on the way up but that's all we had. Did she something really really good a crane come down and snatched a fish out of order all about 50 yards in front of us he got a bigger fish than we did haha. Tell you this right now if you're going to do some boating or you just want to go find a place to hike picnic relax camp check this place out it was really really beautiful all kinds of wildlife and it was very quiet and relaxing. Check it out for yourself.
Beautiful, clean, well maintained, plenty of parking available. Perfect family relax in nature with great panorama. Loved it.
This place is absolutely beautiful. It is very clean and well cared for. This is the perfect place for a photographer to use as a backdrop. I look forward to trying disk golf.
Walking the paths on an autumn day, and viewing the freshly cut fields of green grass , as well as the leaves changing colors, was so tranquil. This took place on the three loops of the camp grounds, near the public pool.
The park was lovely I did not know that you had to pay for swimming if you already rented a Pavilion in the park I thought that would at least be included in the price but since it is a public pool as well I understand why there's a fee
Enjoyed the Fall weather and riding the mountain bike trails. Wish the leaves had turned more though. Surprised they haven't, given it's late October.
My son took me to the swimming pool that the park has. The place looked beautiful. The pool was large and it had a nice little water pad for babies & younger ones. The pool started at inches so toddlers can play.
Great family outing.
Beautiful place. Especially in the fall.
If you like disc golf they have three courses to play.
We were at Codorus last week of July. We were on T Loop T12. Site was on a slant so sleeping was a bit challenging. However our site had top cover from rain and sun due to the trees on the site. Bathrooms were really clean but we were a decent walk away from it. Rangers are pretty strict about single vehicle on site so if you are a large party, consider booking two sites. Sites are fairly close to each other so it doesn't offer privacy as much as other campsites. Pool is really nice and the lake is pretty sweet too. It rained two of the three nights we were there but we were prepared and had a good time. Park is close to Gettysburg so you can easily squeeze a day trip there. Restaurants and grocery stores are just few min away so if you forget something or need opt out of meal prep on site you have options. All in all Codorus is a nice park with plenty of outdoor activities. If you are in the area definitely check it out.
Beautiful park, the water looks clean and clear, you can rent boats, hike ,fish and camp.
Loved this park!! So peaceful. We stayed in one of the cabins and we were so comfortable. It rained the entire weekend, but we still made the best of it. We cannot wait to visit again!!!
Awesome park for all of your outdoor needs. Parking is snug depending where you park. The trails are easily accessible and well maintained. Alot of information is on display along the trail so for kids it's very informative. Awesome place with events throughout the year and my favorite place to go hiking.
Whether it’s a trip out with the kids or a church related kayaking event, Codorus State Park is one of Pennsylvania’s hidden gems. A great place to spend the day on the water, Codorus offers plenty of restrooms and picnic tables, as well as a top-notch pool. One of my family’s favorite places for summertime fun!
We go here 2 times a year for camping such a beautiful clean place
Very relaxing been going for over 10 years
Every July we take our 3 kids and 10 grandkids for a week of camping
Awesome time on the trail at the lake, for beginner to intermediate walkers/hikers. Along the trail we met a few runners and couples with pets that were super friendly. Stopped a few times to enjoy watching the sand pipers and the ibis stalking its prey. Read the tombstones at one of the interest points, will need to look up more info on somebody in the site dealing with the star spangled banner.
Plenty of outdoor stuff to do. Hiking and fishing. If you got a boat they've got a lake.
Great hike - well maintained. 1.7 mile loop around a scenic lake
You can rent a boat at the marina for a couple of hours and the prices are reasonable. Disc frisbee golf a fun game is next to the marina.
Camping section review. Recently stayed here and enjoyed the quietness and surrounding nature. Recent upgrades to several of the RV loops are nice. Easy access and a polite and helpful staff in the campground. There is a small shed type store at the entrance, a must visit if nothing else for a great story or two!
Gorgeous park, clean facilities. Staff and rangers were really friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back and go boating!!!
We really enjoyed this park. The sites in D loop were large and spacious for my travel trailer. The only issue was the older gentleman who works the check in booth. I came up to get my paperwork because I extended my stay and his attitude was anything but friendly. He asked for my license and actually checked my info then asked questioned why I was claiming ADA. Never have I ever been asked that. I guess because he can't see the rods and screws holding my spine together I'm not disabled. The camp host and his wife were awesome.
Nice quiet park. A little more of a roughing it style as there aren't many nearby restrooms or facilities. Popular for recreational boating and fishing but restrictions on the horsepower of your boat (no tubing or skiing). Nice place to have a picnic with family or friends.
Very well maintained park with beautiful, peaceful setting
Great place to hang out with the family. We drive an hour to get here because the water is so clean. Several places to wade ,swim and boat. They have multiple sites to rent canoes and kayaks.
The facilities, including the restroom and showe room in campsites were very clean. The boat rental is now open after 1 pm. The staff was friendly.
Second year that we have camped here. Clean, quiet, well maintained! 50 amp available. Most sites are easily accessible, but uneven. Bring your leveling skills!
Beautiful and serene! My favorite place to relax and get my mind off the daily grind. Check out the incredible sunsets!! Miles of lake & waters edge to enjoy. There is opportunity for boating, fishing, camping, hiking, disc golf, trail biking, horseback riding, bird watching, picnicking and the list goes on! Come spend the day or weekend & get back to the great outdoors! 5 star recommended! :-)
Come for rent camping but know if you have an Rv or Fiver or large trailer the sites are extremely slanted and it may take lots of blocks and boards to level.
Beautiful campground loops A, B, and C are covered in beautiful trees Loop D is good for anyone that wants satellite access.
Bathrooms are clean and well stocked.
This is a nice park with a beautiful lake, where you can fish and kayak. And enjoy nature
Absolutely amazing course!!! Well kept and well designed. For 175 to 700+ holes thia course has a nice variety of greens.
I've been to this park 3 times now and I have to say I like it , it's very peaceful the people are very nice , the lake is beautiful to boat on and enjoy , and the restrooms are clean and neat . A very nice place to relax .
What a great park to bring my dogs! We had a fantastic day here!
Same great park as it was in the early 80's
Always a great time. Easy trails, would just be great if beach pedestrians would clean up their trash. Lots of shade on hot days if you know where to find it.
We went hiking on the Mary Ann trail. Had a blast. It was easy to follow.
It was ok but the trails weren't marked very well
Most people go there for the water which was very busy with boats and swimming
The lake is beautiful. We've been coming here for years. Always a nice family outing.
Another great Pa State Park. Don't be afraid to visit. The campground is nice as well!
The camp grounds was an enjoyable experience.
Wonderful peaceful environment. Plan a day trip to explore all the surrounding spots.
Took out a pontoon boat and had a blast exploring. Threw a few lines out but it was the wrong time of the day. Brought a picnic and made a day of it. Super fantastic employees in the boathouse. Great young men.
Nice picnic area to meet up with family and friends. Pool was a little pricey- $15 per person.
So much fun for the entire family. From swimming in the pool, to having a BBQ. Or just walking or biking the trail. Whatever you plan, enjoy it here.
Well maintained, lovely setting, not too crowded for July 4. Many swimming in no Swimming areas
I can't even begin to describe all the memories I have here. And not just from when I was a kid, almost ever month, on a good day, I will go and enjoy this beautiful park. I don't throw this word out alot but....this place is bangin.
seems the devil's dice has become popular there water was way down and I only found a few on dry rocks , but still found plenty in waters edge
Nice park. If you love to kayak or boat this is the place for you. Also plenty of spots to fish from the shore.
Codorus is a great place to spend the day! They have all kinds of stuff for the entire family to enjoy. You can swim, bike, kayak, canoe, hike, have a cookout. It’s the perfect place to come and enjoy a beautiful summer day.
A beautiful place, with many beautiful things to see, & great things to do! Pretty cool events, like music at the bandshell.
One thing that i keep witnessing, and hearing about alot, is people swimming in the lake! Mostly people that are unfamiliar with how things work...or can't read , or both! Supposedly, little is being done to enforce this rule!
Park Rangers really need to step up their game here! I've heard this several times, and from several different sources. Especially children'...their lives and their safety are at risk! That's mainly why these rules are in place - to protect the park, and the people that use and enjoy it!
This state park is one of the most beautiful parks I have visited. There is plenty of activities to do that includes: hiking, fishing, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, and camping to mention some. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The campsite has shaded camping, other in a more sunny and green area, some sites have electric service and the bathroom and showers where clean during the three days of my stay. Some Yurts and cabins are available for rent. Also there is a nice pool open during summer months. I highly recommend this place!
I love PA State Parks! We use to take our kids camping. Now it's great when I can share the experience with our grandkids. There's lots of open space to run around and explore. It can be educational and it's always so much fun.😊 …
Codorus State Park has plenty of room for outdoor activities. The restrooms are very clean and modern. The water level is presently fairly low at this time.
It a nice clean place the boating is a little cheap and they have nice trails. Horse trails to
Absolutely loved camping in yurt love boating in lake and we love the pool no complaints here.
Very beautiful and peaceful place. Very big park. Crystal clear water.
Great place to have a cookout there picnic tables and grills located in areas around the marina. Then take the kids fishing down to the lake. Miles of nature trails to get away from everything and enjoy nature!
We were at the NDOG meeting. It was well marked where you could find them. the food was excellent too!!!
Beautiful views while playing the red disc golf course!
Beautiful park, well kept looking areas and plenty of room at the different visitor locations. Multiple waterway views and great scenery in between. I had to take a friend here after I came by myself to enjoy the nature. Definitely recommend!
Beautiful park. We have visited the past 3 years to help hand out trick or treat candy
Loop B was beautiful. Lots of trees and decent sized sites. Apart from almost getting knocked unconscious by falling nuts we had a good time 😊 …
Great view. Reasonable rental prices. Kayak, paddle boat, and canoe rentals by the hour.
Awesome experience. Rangers drove through over night gave me a since of security! Thank you! The pool was extra but well worth it!
We took a drive to York Street Treat and stopped at Codorus. We walked down to the Lake and then sat at the benches admiring the lake. Another couple was sitting on a bench next to us. We started talking. It was almost dark until we left. We're now friends on fb.
Beautiful Park to Relax and Enjoy the Simple Pleasures of Life. Meeting new Friends is a Bonus.
Very clean campgrounds and bath houses well kept. lots of trails, good Ranger programs, very friendly staff. enjoyed boat rentals and touring 1275 acre lake !! fishing, nice beaches. good boat launches ( limited to 20 hp on motors) scuba diving area, dusc golf, kayak n paddle board rentals, beautiful scenery !!! We love Codorus state park !!!
Nice and clean tons of shade nice pool and water slide
Great place to kayak and sail a boat.
Very beautiful, clean and safe. Nice for dogs and children.
Amacing place. Really beautiful place. Nuce and clean campgroung..
Honest review The park as a whole is definitely 5stars. Amazing scenery and very well maintained. If you want a beautiful place to kayak this is it! Hiking is very well marked as well. The pool is decent. It has a lot to offer but most of the time sections of the pool are closed. Usually the slides are closed. The camp ground, the workers are very rude and don't like to help you with anything. They tend to be really snippy with you. It seems the people who camp there are also a bit on the ruder side as well.. it's nice camping if you don't try to communicate with anyone. You can tell who is local and who isn't. The locals are usually the rude ones.
My family and I had a great day at the pool and the kids loved having the splash pad and the pool with different water levels. We all had a great time
Experience a marvel of man-over-nature in this artificially created lake. An entire community was purposely flooded in the 70's. Free to visit dawn to dusk. Limited parking. Many trails and wildlife. Mountain bikes allowed. The state does a fair job with maintenance. Recommend donning high-vis clothing during hunting season and anti-tick trousers in summer.
There's nothing better then enjoying the great outdoors with a relaxing environment and a beautiful, clean environment. This park is extremely clean and great for outdoor picnics
Great lake for leisurely boating.
I love going here and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature. I love the different trails for hiking, running or walking.
Beautiful wooded camping sites. Clean and we'll kept. Pool is great but you need to pay to enter and bring your own chairs and shade.
Went kayaking on the lake here. The scenery was beautiful, Lake Marburg wasn't overcrowded, and the water was fairly clean. What more can you ask for?
This is my favorite, local MTB trail system. Close to home and well groomed trails. A lot of trails make for a variety of combinations and distances.
This is one of the best MTB trail systems in this area.
Awesome little gem of a park and campground. Very family friendly and super clean facilities. We will definitely come back!
We had a wonderful time here. Camped for three days in the tent only area. Had access to bathroom/showers, which were very clean.
Plenty of opportunities to hike, fish, boat. Boat rentals available. Small store at front of park was open Friday and Saturday. They also had wood and ice available 24/7 for purchase.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Park also has multiple disc golf courses. Went to the pool our last day there, unfortunately only half the pool was open. There was also a splash park that the kids loved. Was extremely clean.
Looking forward to visiting again.
We LOVE Codorus! It's such a beautiful place! We especially enjoy being on the pontoon boat in the water, it's so relaxing. We attend summer blast every single year to enjoy good food, entertainment, vendors, and amazing fireworks! I recommend a visit to anyone and can bet you will return!
Camping here is Awesome. Their camp sites are very clean, spacious, level, with lots of trees and close to all facilities. Prices are great! If you like fishing, you will Love Codorous State Park! They have a marina so you can get bait and tackle. They rent out boats, canoes and pontoons. And believe me there is plenty of Lake to go around! Swimming pool and slides in the summer. They also have events the kids and yourself can enjoy signing up for. Awesome trails for hiking plus horse riding trails. If you forgot something, stores are just a short distance away. Here is a place for fun for everyone.
One problem in camp ground, One person can reserve five sites. With number of people camping, One person should only be able to rent one site!!!!
Nice place to kayak and hike and mountain bike and dogs love to swim there
Absolutely wonderful place to go kayaking and explore out on the water!
Great trail to hike. About a 2.5 mile loop and the parking lot holds about 5 cars.
After your hike head over the Half Pints Creamery in Hanover. The ice cream is spectacular in an 1894 schoolhouse.
Nice quiet campground. Our site was nice, albeit a little close to others. The bathrooms weren't brand new but certainly well maintained. Park rangers were just a call away when we needed assistance and they were very helpful. If I'm ever in the area again I'll definitely be staying here.
Beautiful! Huge! With so much to explore and amazing views
Great clean very friendly people and beautiful views
I love coming here to sun bathe and dip in the water, they also have kayaking too!
We rented a pontoon here, and had a lot of fun! Good for a family day trip
Wonderful state park! Large camp sites and beautiful lake!
Beautiful lake with great hiking trails, awesome disc golf courses, boat rentals and plenty to do all year long for the whole family!
I loved it. The pool is huge and clean. You have trails to hike, disk golf, pontoon boats, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats for rent. Its beautiful. I will be back...
Beautiful. Excellent place to go with your family and hike or have a picnic. There is camping, fishing, boating, and you can Scuba Dive there.
Last minute idea and my family had a great time together
This isn't our family's typical preference for camping, but in order to spend some time together outdoors, it definitely did the trick. I will say that the bathrooms were really, really nice for campground bathrooms. Pretty clean and easy to use, and not too far of a walk. The men that were working at the little shop at the entrance (and their cute chocolate lab) were very sweet and helpful, and even gave us some treats for our dog. They also helped me load up some firewood I bought.
For big family gatherings and some fun outdoors, this is a very nice campsite. Just make sure you bring lots of bug spray! Lol
Plenty of parking
Boat rental
Kayaking
Tried boating at AOS marina and I loved it..
Food truck near AOS marina..
Menu in the pic
Beautiful, scenic spot for a picnic, kayaking, disc golf, or paddle boarding.
Love the lake and the disc golf courses are always great! Camp grounds is spacious, and very well maintained. Pool is one the best in the state park system, changing rooms are interesting but not in a bad way
Beautiful park. Kept very clean. The sites are spacious and set-up well. Tent camping is made enjoyable with easy car access. Restrooms are close to sites. The lake is great. We rented a boat and spent the morning fishing. Staff was very helpful.
An awesome place to take the boat! You can also swim here which makes it so nice!
The effects of the pandemic has caused everyone to overprice everything! $15 to get in the pool and the slide was down. It’s ridiculous! We had a good time but it was disappointing for the slide to closed
Great park, sites good, lots to look at close by.
Always a blast. Used to come up back in mid late 00s, and early 10s, happy to bring the family up.
This is a wonderful park with a lot to do for the whole family. There are a lot of very well maintained access points for the lake that make for some good fishing spots.
Speaking of fishing if you really want to catch the big ones and don't have a boat of your own they have a marina in the park called AOS Marina and the prices are pretty reasonable. At the time of writing this you could rent a pontoon boat for 4 hours for 185 without a boating license.
This is a very modern wonderful park. We stayed in a cabin that was very comfortable and well maintained. There are hand water pumps all over the place. The restrooms have utility sinks for washing dishes. The wooded grounds are beautiful.
Lots of hiking trails, lake for boating, 4 different disc golf courses. Lots to do and the scenery is amazing.
Excellent park, lovely camping facilities and launch spots for paddleboard and kayak.
Love it here! Great fishing, hiking, boating, picnic areas!
Sites are not as private as we like. But, overall, a good experience.
Accompanied my daughter & granddaughter for their Trick or Treat. It was awesome! The campers go all out with their decorations and props! I'd add photo's but they don't do justice to the attomosphere & feel of the excitement given to both young & old! I highly recommend this event to anyone. There was also food trucks & a DJ that got the kids dancing. Certain booths were sponsored by local professionals with goodies, too! Even Smoky the Bear was there!
Beautiful place many spots to go. Big pool area. Great boating. Trying to find a good fishing spot though
Beautiful lake and campsites, boat lauches, love fishing there.
We went to the public pool it was nice you can bring a Canopy, tent, anything to stay in the shade they have a concession stand there as well , my only issue was they didn't have the entire pool open, only half but that was because the lack of life guards and also they didn't limit how many people came into the pool , so it got packed around 2 o'clock. We got there at 12 so we did enjoy the pool before it became crowded other than that the pool is a good stop its $15 on weekends and $12 on weekdays to get inside.
The park is beautiful, we were there for the east coast dutch oven gathering. When we weren't making food for the gathering we got to explore the park a little bit. The lake and surrounding area has many breathtaking views.
Stopped by to do a little bit of fishing and enjoy the lake. Met a few people and made a new friend. Fishing, boating, paddle board, and kayaking are permitted as long as boats and kayak are registered. You may want to check with the park to find out if you may need a permit though. Great place for young and old. Walking and hiking trails. There is a camping ground. Many wildlife species bring a camera if you want. Just keep it clean please take care to never litter. Most areas don't offer trash/ waste receptacles.
Awesome park, lots of stuff to do. Disc golf layouts are great and they seem to flow well with the other the other park activities. Kudos to the local club and park staff that build and maintain the courses!!!
The park rangers 💙 are wonderful! 👏
The park has a beautiful lake with many hiking trails,👣 and there are docks to enjoy fishing. 🎣 …
An excellent place to go for a hike, walk, swim, go canoeing, or kayaking.
The lake is beautiful! We stayed in the timber doodle roughing it area and the sites are great! Spacious, private, and plenty of flat space for your tents. Bathrooms were clean and showers were very nice. Only negative was that there is no restroom close to the launch area at the end of the lane, so when you come in from on your boat/kayak it is a little ways until you can use the bathroom. The pool was closed this year so we did not get to check that out while we were there, but just relaxing by the fire and kayaking in the lake was great! Highly recommend this area of the park for camping if you dont mind "roughing it" some 😊
Great getaway if you need some peace. Nice little drive from York.
Good fishing, get there early for the best spot, unless of course you have a boat.
Its gets crowded in some spots. But I always enjoy it.
Clean sites. Electric 30amp hook up. No water or sewage at site. Use the dump area to empty tanks. Fresh water is also in the dump tank
Gorgeous place to float on a kayak with my pup and enjoy the sunset.
great day on the lake tired as hell ... needed time out there to think about everything ....
Beautiful place to take walks, spend the day or camp!
Beautiful park. Great place to come and relax.
Great place to kayak. Many places to launch from. Will definitely be back!
Beautiful scenery, great boating and kayaking. Visitors that play loud music is annoying. Why are so many people allowed to swim in the lake? I'm not saying 1 or 2 swimmers, but one gathering had at least 25 people in the water near the boat launch today.
Peaceful environment , good place for family picnic and camping ⛺️
Tons of things to do here - hiking, mountain biking, swimming, kayaking, boating, etc. They offer a great boat rental service. It is a beautiful state park with amazing views and plenty of space if you're looking for fewer people (avoid the band shell and marina areas if you don't want crowds).
Also a lovely venue for a wedding ceremony and/or reception!
Beautiful scenery. Worth the trip there if u like wooded settings
Only been here one day and so far I love it.
I know this is what camping is all about but would be nice to have some lights around the site and some trash cans.
Also I know it’s 2021 but a ATM would be so helpful
Other than that it has been amazing and I’m not a camping type of girl.
Hope everyone has a great and safe trip!!
Went for a birthday party in a pavilion close to the boat launch. Very clean, great restrooms, kayak and canoe rentals. Bass, and Sunnies could be seen from the launch docks. Great day for all, play ground for kiddos. I will go back to fish!
This park is always a pleasure to visit. It is well maintained, clean and orderly. PA DCNR does a great job here. And uts nice to see the sailboats out as well. Highly recommend. I can't wait until the campground has the full hookups installed.
Nice campground if you are into kayaking. Not a lot of hiking trails though near the camp sight.
Great place to take family and friends to enjoy time out doors.
Includes Lake Marburg. You can rent pontoon boats, kayaks and paddle boards. Hidden gem.
Codorus has a spot to do most anything you want outdoors. Trails, water access, pavilions, picnic space.. You can find it all.
We went night kayaking here, and I was really surprised at how clear the water was. I didn't think I'd be able to see to the bottom close to shore via moonlight only. It didn't seem extremely buggy either. We even talked to a ranger that was pretty helpful, who let us know that you can in fact kayak the lake at night, as long as you have a pfd, and a whistle. We were right off of Smith Station Rd- so- if you go to that spot, be expecting some light pollution and road noise- but- I would go back, no problem. Note- the put in closest to the intersection does have a bit of a drop off, so have a flash light or head lamp handy.
Nice view of the water, great place to kayak or just relax with friends and family. And a few nice disc golf courses on location.
Took the dogs for a walk out by the marina with my sister. Quiet area even though there were people out. Veterans Memorial Garden is in need of care though.
Great family place! lots of different activities from rentals of canoes to disc golf fields and trails galore!
Nice place to chill and disconnect. You have to go early to get this spot.
Good place for all activities, clean and we'll maintained.
Beautiful place for picnics, kayaking. Easy hiking trails! A great close to home get away!💕 …
Our first time camping here...definitely won't be the last. So many good sites to pick from with an abundance of trees to help screen for privacy. Our site had electric only. Water pump nearby. Very clean and heated bathrooms with 2 showers. So quiet!!
Love this park! Beautiful lake, nice campsites for RVs and tents. Bathrooms are clean.
We rented a pontoon boat. Very affordable and great family fun!!! Also very big and roomy. We had 3 adults and 2 kids and had plenty of space. You could easily fit a large family very comfortably. I would highly recommend this place. It is huge with many spots to explore, clean and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly.
Beautiful, we saw lots of wild life. Plenty if access points to the lake.
They help birds breed like the eagle the the winter with a baby on camera with snow on the nest. Was live on the news
This should be a 5 star park but unfortunately the crowds we saw gathering around the pool area had vulgar music blasting as if there was a live concert and the Rangers seemed to just move along… kids and families do not need to be exposed to that nonsense. This behavior seems all too common in PA State parks. Hoping the pool closure issues are a thing of the past and the crowds start showing some human decency for our visits next year!
We had our family reunion at Codorus State park this year, we had so much fun that this park will be our official site for all of our family events. The pool, the space, the interactions with other families, the atmosphere and most of all the cleanliness made it stand out from all the rest!
I love how secluded the lake is, for this area at least. I accidently found it today while I was walking my dog on the bike trail that is up-kept very well. Just a great place to go for some peace and quiet out in nature, or a fun time on the lake.
I enjoyed the weekend here! Definitely, not my favorite PA state park, but not bad! It's a drag that they don't have lake swimming and the pool is closed till 2021. The sites are nice and bathroom was clean.
Beautiful and well kept. The rangers there do a great job. That said my wife and I didn't do our research ahead of time and were expecting a weekend of swimming in the lake and having a few adult beverages on the water. There is No Alcohol and No swimming allowed.
Great park, boat rentals, Frisbee course and bring binoculars to see the bald eagle nest and if by chance you forget there are usually many birdwatchers and more than happy to lend a bypasser a pair. The eagles nest is across the water way to the right of the silo. Chick was in the nest yesterday, Kudos to Larry the elderly gentleman in the pickup with a scope. Loves to chat, very friendly, visits when ever possible to see the bald eagle nest. Enjoy the park and the great people.
Nice place for a walk in nature. Multiple trails to choose from
We paddle here and the nature is great. Only small power boats (25 hp or less) are allowed so it is nice and relaxing. There are horse trails and hiking trails, both are very nice without much traffic. No alcohol is permitted which is kind of a bummer but likely what makes it a nice place to go.
Rangers and natural resources police are super nice and helpful. Really can't think of a downside other than no trash cans, but also no trash laying around so it works for them.... Birds, fish, turtles, deer, horses and nice folks.... What's not to like?
They are currently renovating a large part of the campground. They did a good job at managing new traffic directions in the part during these times. I am not sure what they are doing, it appears they are adding full hookups to some of their sites. I hope they increase the number of dog sites...it is ever increasingly difficult to get into parks these days especially with a dog.
Great place for the dogs to cool off on a hot day!!
Is a great place to walk the trails with your girl and the dogs. The fishing it a little hit or miss at times but still a beautiful place to BBQ and hangout.
Beautiful place. The campground is well equipped with big lots, so you can fit without problem two big tents per lot and still have extra space for BBQ or other stuff. The lake is a non-swimming lake, and that's really bad, they should prepare an area for swimming, since is very nice to have a bath in a lake, mostly during summer!
Great trails. Took LaHo trail today in 96degree day but shady and was ok.
Always a great day at the lake
Spent a few days camping here and it was amazing. I will definitely be back soon
Nice place to hike, picnic, and enjoy water activities, boating, swimming and fishing.
Simply beautiful!🤩 …
Really nice to boat and go fishing.
Great way to spend the day. Lots of things to do in the park
Very park.
Much Tree.
So lake.
Loved camping in a Yurt!!
Camped for four nights in this well-managed, clean, and mostly quiet campground. The state park is vast and has several recreation opportunities including mountain biking, canoeing/kayaking, and disc golf! The only negative was that we didn't realize there was no swimming in the lake, which was a big problem on a hot weekend in July 😢.
Fantastic state park with a ton of activities. Kayaking and boating, hiking, disc golf, swimming picnicing, etc. We were there for a family camping trip for 2 nights. The campground is a favorite of ours because, although it's pretty big, the campsites are well placed with a decent amount of space between sites. The sites are fairly well maintained and flat. Each one has a fire ring with grate, nice tent pad, and a long picnic table. A very family friendly campground where kids can walk around or bike around freely. The swimming pool is very nice with large bath houses, little kids splash area, and 2 really fun water slides. We enjoy camping here and will continue to go back.
Beautiful park. Definitely water oriented. There are a few marinas spread throughout the park, a campground, and strangely...a big pool with waterslides. We set out to hike but a thunderstorm caught up to us after our picnic. Very relaxing to see such beauty while picnicking. We will most definitely go back.
The park is lake-centric and only has two hiking trails. However, the park is very clean and was quiet while camping. They also have many new full-hookup sites which is what drew my wife and I to try it.
This is a beautiful park. The only complaint i have is the women's bathroom has no light and a couple of the sink's faucet was not working. But other then that, it's beautiful and a nice place to go.
Visited during Thanksgiving. Beautiful park. We did La Ho trail around one of the lakes. Low difficulty trail. Went to a picnic area facing the lake-- near the Classroom building. It was a beautiful spot.Cooked on the grill on a nice, cool, windy, sunny day. COVID times the cold doesn't feel like cold.Bathrooms were closed.
What an awesome experience !! First time camping in a yurt. Our site was just a couple of steps from the restrooms/ showers and drinking water. The yurt itself was spacious, spotless and is equipped with a remote control pedestal fan, full size refrigerator, microwave, stove, ceiling fan and super comfortable bunk beds. The marina offers a great selection of pontoon and fishing boats, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. that are available for rent. Swimming is not permitted in the lake; however, the swimming pool at the park is exceptional. The campground is super clean, low key, quiet, and provides plenty of shade. This is an awesome place to see wildlife. I would highly recommend this campground and we will definitely be back next summer.
What a nice State Park. The campsites are very big!
Is beautiful would love to come back when summer hits
Such a blessed view to relax and meditate.
The pool albeit expensive was closed during the week making for very grouchy city kids camping in a tent. Also, there is no swimming in this lake so over all this camping trip was a bust. We took day trips to near by attractions, Gettysburg and Hersheypark to name a few.
Beautiful as always, great place to hang out and watch the sunset. Just wish people would pick up their trash when they leave
Very well kept park/lake area. Many areas to get to lake side parking and small boat launch. 20hp max. power for boats. Several area with restrooms and eating areas. Shore fishing early or late otherwise be prepared to fish 20 feet deep or more. Some nice large mouths to be had.
Great place to go paddle boarding or kayaking. Water is clean and clear.
Not a comfortable atmosphere. It needed to be more lively. Maybe when restrictions are loosened a little. I was the only customer and still kept waiting after my food was ordered. Drive thru was getting quick service though. Back to BK or Wendy's for quick service.
Great place for sailing, there is good fishing and a pool also.
We rented a fishing boat to go out for an hour. It was absolutely gorgeous, but the client experience wasn't the best. The guys behind the counter were giving information, then taking it back. Saying boats were available but then when we chose that boat it was suddenly not available anymore. It was a weird experience... But as soon as we got on the water, it was perfect.
Had a great time. We always go here for hiking, fishing, and camping. Went for memorial day and though parts were crowded , we managed to find a good spot near the oarhouse that had a grill and was close to the bathroom. If you are looking for a good scenic time in nature I suggest this place!
This park has absolutely beautiful picturesque views. This is a great place for a picnic, to play games, and simply walk around for the day. This was my first time there. I will definitely be back.
An Absolutely Beautiful Park. Swimming Pool is CLOSED TEMPORARILY...Small Vessel Fishing Kayak Rentals to Hiking and Horseback ... Camping from Tent to Cabin Sites Very Clean and Adequate Amenities Games and Golf...Excellent HIKING Wood Scape ...Great Place for those that Enjoy the Outdoors Plenty of Space for Family Picnics with Grills...it is Rustic they will Not Sweep Away Leaves for Your Pleasure and Cannot be Expected to Replace a Light Bulb the Second it goes Out...it's a Huge Park Many Hiking Trails...don't go further than You're Experienced
Great place to walk around! The lake has great views. Saw a bunch of birds here and did not play disc golf but the course looked like a lot of fun.
Love this place. That said, the rental boats are eye wateringly expensive and you can't jump in, swim, get off on the shore, etc...
Beautiful place great rentals but if going on weekend make sure you reserve your boat a couple days ahead of time to make sure u can get one especially for family functions
Very nice state park; the lake is great and lots of stuff to do. Campground is paved, some shaded spots for RV's/trailer on loop C and open spaces [no trees] on loop D. The pool/splash park is nice (discounted but not included with the campground cost). Good family atmosphere. All in all a good way to spend the weekend! Can wait to do it again.
This campground is set on a hill. It's sites are uneven and I mean uneven. Had to change sites because we couldn't even get slides out. The next site, front Jack's all the way down and still at an angle. All sites like that. When leaving couldn't empty fully because it was also at an angle. Kayaking was great and hiking good too. Also met some really great friendly people.
The lake is amazing, plenty of places to put a kayak in the water. Absolutely gorgeous park. The bath houses are always clean and stocked. The campsites for tent and rv camping are spacious with plenty of shade trees. I love it here.
This is a wonderful state park. From spending the day fishing and hiking, to camping in the wooded campground we always have a great time here. The campground is beautiful in the fall. The facilities are clean and the spots are plenty big and spaced out. We highly suggest this state park.
Lovely park its very clean the bathrooms are extremely clean and there's a lot parking spaces available for you. Perfect for a family day out and the water is extremely clean you can see to the bottom almost all the rocks. Oh and if you have a boat 🚢 you can definitely bring in this is the place for you. I'm definitely will be coming back.
The place was very well maintained. Everybody was very very nice that work there. And being that we were noobs on our first trip it seemed as though the community of campers and people in tents made sure to reach out a helping hand to us. It really felt like a community. Way above my expectations... I definitely will be going again and again and again. The rates don't hurt either. They have hey pay for play pool and plenty of playgrounds to go around for the kids. I definitely recommend this location if you are new to the game or a seasoned vet at camping.
It's a lot to do at the state park...I didn't have one moment in which I was bored....swimming, fishing, boating, site seeing, bbqing,...etc
Always a great place to go for spring summer and fall fun!
Rent a pontoon boat, go swimming or fishing or simply take a nice long walk in dozens of easy to moderate areas around the park.
So many things to do and don't miss the summer blast in June!
Very nice. Disc golf course is fun. They have 3. Rent kayaks, canoes and pontoons. You can't swim in the lake, but you can scuba in some places. Great for picnics.
Nice place. Looks like great lake. Game warden definitely on patrol tho
Amazing place for families! Boat rental was quick and easy, friendly staff, beautiful lake, good prices. Hop skip and jump from Baltimore, and a scenic drive with winedy, rolling roads all the way up Falls road
Very beautiful scenery during the fall, or anytime. Maintained very well, and kept clean for the most part. Good place to go fishing!
Beautiful lake. Camping spots are great success in the roughing it section. There are no hookups here (in the roughing it section, it looked like all other spots where you want hookups they have them a vailable) as should be expected. Had a great time here with my family and some friends
Gorgeous where we were. We went to the marina and found a nice shady spot to grill our streaks. We were right by a bathroom and the grill was semi clean but cleaning it wasn't hard and did not bother us. We considered renting a boat from the marina but opted to just enjoy the shade.
My family n i love to hang out on the lake... Kayaking... Pontoons. Fishing.. N the swimming. Are all a grate way to spend time with family n friends.. Very safe n well protected. We when to the pool a few times. N once the was even police at the pool to keep ever body safe.. I was surprised. But felt very safe... Enjoy your summer fun
Was fun, only saw a small portion of it but I had a good day with the kids. Cooked some burgers on the stationary grills they have in the park. My biggest complaint is that the bathroom facilities, atleast the one close to where I was, was very lacking in upgrades and cleanliness. Didn't even have a light. Not that I saw a bulb, I literally didn't see a light source at all except windows. I'm giving 4* despite this because I know there's plenty more park to see and my overall experience was still good. Will adjust accordingly as we plan on going back and seeing what else they have to offer.
Extremely tight regulations, but as long as you follow the rules, it is a very nice family campground. We were at a non electric tent site at Loop A, Site 13. It was really big and roomy. Plenty of flat ground perfect for our tent under lots of tall trees. It rained during the night, but our things hardly got wet. There was a nice fire pit with a grate for cooking. Truly a wonderful camping experience.
Gorgeous band shell on the lake for outdoor concerts!
I love this park! Very clean, lots of benches and picnic tables and trees for shade!
We did a wedding at the schoolhouse venue in the park. The scenery is absolutely stunning and the building is really sweet and quaint and was the right ambience for the bride and groom's taste. They did not have the building unlocked and ready for us when we got there to set up the night before so we had to wait a while. They took care of that the next morning. But the lights were out in the ladies restroom and not working which made it difficult for changing for the wedding. I was surprised they would not have taken care of making sure this was done before, knowing it was being used for a wedding.
Absolutely a great state park. Plenty of things to do for the whole family. Beautiful lake, great mountain bike trails, and an awesome swimming pool with sliding boards and a spray park for the kids. They have camping , also. Great place to go for a day trip or a weekend getaway.
Nice park and the lake is great for kids. You can bring your kayak, or rent
Very large, beautiful park with many facilities. There is boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, camping, and even scuba diving. The facilities are well-maintained. Campsites don't have a lot of privacy but they seem spacious well-placed sanitary facilities. It's an easy drive from Baltimore or the DC suburbs.
Codorus State Park in Hanover PA has so many things to do for your family. There is a wonderful campground with sites for tents to large RVs. There is a swimming pool. Must try out the Disc Golf course that is along side the lake. The best part of the park is Lake Marlburg. Clear and clean lake to fish, boat and kayak. Lots of small sailboats and kayaks on any given day. No large motor boats aloud on the lake. You can also rent kayaks and canoes and pontoon boats by the hour or day.
Great state campground. Beautiful lake. Excellent bathroom and clean shower facilities with hot water. They even have cabins if your too old for a tent or have little ones. What more could you want.
Great Park, dog friendly ( of course your furry baby must be on a leash) Park police do an amazing job keeping everyone safe therefore
Keeping it family friendly. Beautiful surroundings a great combination of woods and water. Thank you to all of the park staff for keeping our park clean and safe!
Lake Marburg is beautiful! Highly recommend Mary Ann Furnace hiking trail.
This is a great, low key, quiet campground. Dog friendly. The vast majority of the RV sites are large, and mostly level. They are all asphalt pads, which is great. Loop D is out in the open, no shade. All other loops are wooded. Plenty of shade in the hot summer months.
Wonderful state park. Plenty of activities from disk golf to fishing to kayaking to mountain biking to the swimming pool. There is always so much to do here. 20 hp limit for boats, no swimming in the lake. Thankful to live next to such a wonderful place. Fishing is good as long as the mill doesnt take all the water out.
Lots of great activities for the family. Be sure to make plenty of visits this summer. Clean up after yourself, don't leave a mess behind and respect the enviroment.
I love this park , they have camps sites, their pool is decent . 5 feet only but decent with double slides. Lots of shade under the picnic/grilling area , just bring your bug spray and you’ll have lots of fun!!
Beautiful state park, lake is large with lots of areas to explore. Great facilities as well, many boat ramps and launch points to get into the water. Will definitely be coming back many more times
A fun, friendly campground with beautiful views.
Codorus State Park is a family friendly park. On a sunny day, it looks like an opening scene of a movie. Its staff keeps this park immaculate. Bring a meal and have a picnic. You can launch a small boat from the boat ramp and enjoy the water. Well worth the drive to Codorus State Park.
For mountain biking, this park has great single track for beginners but absolutely zero signage. It's very easy to get lost and spend an extra 45 minutes finding your way out. Trailforks or similar is a must
Great place to go when you just want some quiet time to yourself or if you're looking for some place to take the family for a day
Great park! Timberdoodle is a nice large campground and was great for a little weekend car camping spot. The horse trails were neat and got to see some horses while walking on them. Disc golf courses are very good as well.
A little pricey, but a wonderful place to swim, hike and bike with kids. The waterslides are great, as are the shallow elements. The park is well maintained, with plenty of space to spread out. And there's a concession stand. There aren't any chairs at the pool, fyi.
Codorus State Park is such a wonderful place. We stayed at the campground for a couple nights. The facilities were nice, and the park itself was beautiful. The disc golf course is definitely worth checking out if that's something that you're interested in.
First time there.. like it very much. Good to take the family..👍 …
The fishing is pretty good. But the wardens are too understaffed. Swimming is not allowed in the lake but every day and especially during the week you have parents allowing their kids to swim near all of the docks, so that it's almost impossible to launch your boat safely and all along the banks kids and adults are swimming making it impossible to fish certain areas. The other big problem is people in boats flying by you causing their wake to rock your boat. Hardly anyone practices safe and courteous boating.
The cabin was very nice and clean. I will stay there again.
Great disc golf course!! Love it.
My friends and I went there from Friday to Sunday. We had a great times, the bathroom were cleaned and there's a lot of things to do. If you love the water, there's a lake for kayaking or either just fishing. Will definitely go there again
A nice state park, especially if you like boating. Plenty of trails for hiking, but watch your step. As per usual, where horseback riding is permitted, riders don't clean up after their animals, ignoring the signs.
The pool was lovely and the grill areas was nice and neat. Nice place to enjoy a family gathering. Only would give advice bring cash no cards are taken other then at the rangers station.
Awesome disc golf course! Meticulously maintain d and challenging. Looking forward to playing the additional course layouts around the park!
Beautiful & very large park!! Has a nice campground that does trick or treating in October. You can spend the day hiking, at there huge public pool, playing at the many lil parks & so much more.
This is a little gem in South central PA. Great marina with boat rentals. Fishing and camping on the lake, large swimming pool (no swimming in the lake). Nice floating docks for seasonal slip rentals, boats up to 24 ft with power up to 20hp. Great lake for birding with eagles, hawks and even an osprey nest. I've seen flocks of great white Herron nesting up in oaks along the shore at night. You can see deer getting drinks and lines of brown turtles nose to tail, sunning on logs in coves. Lot's of bass and other fish make this a fun place drop a line in. Fun for the whole family.
Fishing, boat rentals, camping, trails to hike and for horses. Disc golf course is what I mainly use when I visit. So much to do here. Pet friendly. It's a state park so everything a park has. Public pool as well.
Go experience this park sit on the shoreline and watch for eagles right now. It's amazing to see them fly over you. Los of varietes of birds of you love bird watching. In warm weather it's awesome to be on the lake in your boat or kayak. Very popular for that.
Great place to huck some circles man
We stayed in the cottages. The cottage was nice it had 2 bunk beds and can fit up to 5 people. The bathrooms looked new and we're super clean. The showers had doors on them instead of just curtains. The water for shower was nice and hot. We rented a pontoon at the park, it for 10 people and was a great chill on the water. Everyone was friendly at the park. The rangers were helpful. We went July 4th weekend and watched the fireworks at Moul Field only an 11 minute drive from the campsite. Would definitely come back again.
Beautiful clear lake and excellent camping facilities. Clean modern bathrooms, firewood, helpful park rangers. Love love it here. Great family place.
First visit and a lot more to follow. Was not a great birding day, but did get some unexpected pictures adding to my growing life list.
Do want to try out the campground soon.
Beautiful park with a ton of options for things to do. They have plenty of trails to walk or ride your horse or bike. They have some excellent fishing options. They even have plenty of frisbee golf courses that are free to play. They have a multitude of events that go on there throughout the year as well. Such the winter festival and the codorus blast. The campground is also quite nice.
Beautiful day on Lake Marburg!
Beautiful wooded campsite with a huge lake and disc golf!
I had a great time fishing and then when it got hot I just jumped right on in you're not allowed but they don't bother you if you don't bother them they even have a pool a big pool PA residents pay $7 to get in must bring cash no credit enjoy your time there there is also rentals for canoes boats and pontoons.. enjoy the beautiful views.
Beautiful park surrounding a gorgeous lake spanning 4 townships. Huge place with wonderful birdwatching and fishing. Lots of trails and a well kept state park campground. Lots of fun as a day trip or some overnight camping. Wish I lived closer.
Beautiful park! Lots of places to picnic, play disc golf, boating, fishing and hiking!
Been going here since I was a kid but today somebody stole my ratchet strap to hold my kayaks down So I had to stop on the way home and get a new set unbelievable
Nice area to camp, but a bit pricey.
Very beautiful with a great view and lots of things to due such as boating, kayaking, hiking, and picnicking. However there are sand flies on the beach area.
Where do I begin... Fantastic trails for hiking, biking, horseback. There are snowmobile trails, but I haven't used them.
Beautiful Lake Marburg with all it's twisting shoreline and coves. Eagle island... where, if you're lucky, you'll see the gorgeous bald eagles fishing.
They do an amazing fireworks display, on independence day, over the lake. It's spectacular... One of the best you'll ever see in the area.
Great camp ground with modern bathroom and shower amenities. You can access some of the multiple trails from the campground. Again...15 MPH speed limit in the campground. OBEY IT!! There are children!!
Multiple species of fish to fish for. The marina offers multiple styles of boats for rent. From bass boats to pontoons.
Every year they put on Codorus Blast. You have to experience it for yourself! Live music, fireworks, carnival, games, dog competitions, and so much more!!
Codorus state park... What's not to love?
This is a peaceful and expansive park/campground. They have a lake where you can rent boats and canoes. And they have to restroom/showers on each camping loop. The most popular loop is the electric one of course. The electric sites are electric only, with water spigots interspersed throughout and one dump station near the exit. There is a tiny camp store that mostly sells firewood and ice cream and limited camping supplies.
Clean facilities. Well organized. Friendly people. Lots to do and see. It has specific areas for hunting, mountain biking, winter sports, horseback riding, and fishing. Also a few wildlife and scenic viewing points.
The pool is nice and big. Would of given it a 5 star it's just you have to cookout outside the pool area. But great place other than that.
It's good for a nice day outdoors, but park enforcement is a bit wonky. Boats, especially fisherman, are constantly checked for trivial violations while almost nothing is done about littering or people swimming right beside "No Swimming" signs.
Good place to take the kids fishing. Clean and will kept. We've caught many fish there. Don't forget to bring seats, drinking water, and an umbrella. Depending on where you are, there are trees for shade, but open in other areas. Umbrella will help you.
Wonderful place with many options for boating, kayaking, and fishing. The lake is good quality for bass fishing but has some areas heavily overrun with perch. The state game commission encourages anlers to take the perch and keep any catches. The park also has a beautiful public pool nearby. The lake is not for swimming. Thre are many places to picnic as well with restrooms and a visitor center too.
Like this if it helpful.
Thanks
Very well maintained. Plenty of hiking trails, horse trails, boat ramps and other recreational areas as well as recently renovated restrooms.
Stayed a few nights here. Nice shaded campsites (it was 100 that weekend), clean showers and bathroom a short walk away. people who ran the little store are terrific. Will definitely return!!
Great boat rental and campground sites with many amenities. Despite going on a holiday weekend, it didn't feel too crowded although it was busy.
Beautiful lake. Nice swimming hole. Looks like fun boating. There's a nesting pair of eagles close by. You see them occasionally. Very nice restful place!
Plenty of trails and thigs to do at Codorus!
Blue course is a great challenge of par3 and 4s . Park is nice. Hole 1 , I consider a little dangerous. Car traffic not very friendly to golfers near ob. Remember to breathe on hole 18.. she got me good
I visit here at least three times a week to hike or run. Great place for dog walks, be careful during hunting season and stick to the trails, so long as your dog is leashed you should have no problem with the traps. Stay clear of the shoreline during trapping season, my dog stepped in a trap bruised his paw and scared me witless.
We always like coming here. Great camping area and overall amazing place.
Codorus Park is a great place to come with friends and family for hiking and fishing or any outdoor activities. The trails are numerous and the park even has a great disc golf course. Or even places for camping and picnicking / grilling. Beautiful scenery of the water and place for outdoor pictures.
Free orchestra concerts, beauties of nature, great time.
Great place for your family. If u plan on cooking out get there early to get a close spot next to the pool area or bring an portable grill.
One of the most well-forrested campgrounds I've been in. Every tent site I saw was completely shaded. Each tent site had a dedicated spot to set up your tent. This spot was like a large contained sandbox filled with a material that would hold tent stakes yet was soft and did not hold water. It rained hard 3 nights in a row yet it didn't get muddy or pond water. Very family oriented, there were supervised activities like fishing, ice cream social, amphitheatre, etc. Very large lake for boating and fishing. Bathrooms / showers were clean and well maintained and showers were hot and water flow / pressure was a 10 out of 10. About 45 minutes from Gettysburg and many historical sites. Surrounded by rolling farmland and quaint looking small towns. There's a Walmart about 10 minutes away.
Beautiful park with nice bathhouse. The disc golf was fun and there are several courses we didn't get the chance to try
Nice place to visit
They keep the place beautiful and are attempting to update amenities. Some pizza places will deliver to the water. You can rent boats and water crafts, hours vary. The office is a great center for knowledge and information. Multiple docks and launches. Band shell has performance and there are so many trails. The pool is not worth it. Swim from a boat but not the shore. Twenty horsepower motor limit on the water.
Love this park. Many great sites. are favorites. Park is quiet, not roudy. We go there for R&R and bc it's close by. Many others go there for water sports! Gigantic beautiful lake! Kept clean, with nice bathrooms. Been there many times!
We had a picnic day out at this park and we loved every bit of it . The lake was amazing , the water was clear and we and our dogs enjoyed our time to the fullest
This state park offers an excellent opportunity for boating and fishing. I will have to say did I've never been very lucky in Catching fish at this Lake. Most voters respect the rights I'm other Motors and it is enjoyable to fish on this Lake.
Confusing signs but great place showers were wonderful
We're new to PA. Scouted this park when we arrived last fall. We're here Memorial Day!! Looking forward to a lovely day.
Gotta say though, disappointed to find Parks Dept has done zip in terms of clean-up of picnic area. Had to spend a good deal of time and energy raking leaves away from table and picking up debris. Hoping it's just a fluke. Other reviews lead me to hope so.
We rented kayaks at the Marina. They had plenty to go around on a hot Sunday afternoon. We originally went to the oarhouse but it's cash only there.
Very nice state park, stayed at the campground and enjoyed some rounds of disc golf. Neat little store at the campground. Just wish the campground had better access to the lake, we drove around quite a bit to get to the lake..
One of the best places to go for state parks. Trails, boating, fishing, and just everything is better. Love taking my family there.
The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. The sky, water, trees, and wildlife offer peaceful surroundings. We just love going over to sit and look at all and find it wonderfully relaxing.
Wonderful state park with many water access. Many ways to.enjoy nature. Also has a great swimming pool and camp ground.
Great place to go for a family hike or a picnic. Great views and plenty of space.
Great place to relax and enjoy nature. Great place for trails. Enjoyable scenery.
The park is huge so you cannot see it all in two days. Great place for biking. The lake is perfect for boating and also fishing. Good prices for boat rentals.
My daughters wedding - perfect view up at the classroom...very accommodating and helpful
Great camping spot.
Been several times and pool is still not open.
Easy access to picnic and fishing areas. Rental pontoon boats, canoes, and kayaks. Boat launch facilities. A swimming pool. Hiking and horse trails. Great place to go for family outdoor fun!
Camped over the weekend and had a blast friendly enviroment and lovely pool although really cold at opening hours. Overall experience was great. They even have tables and grills to use outside the pool area
Great State Park. Lots of great scenery and trails. The Halloween in the Park is a blast!
We stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days just recently. We took along our bicycles to go riding around the loops, and unless you're a seasoned bicyclist, the spots of hills that are steep, the kids won't enjoy that too much. Other than that, we went tent camping and had a blast. The site we stayed on wasn't real level, but we had loads of fun regardless.
After looking around the area for tent camping sites, I'd say Codorus has got to be one of the best locations, as there is a ton of tree coverage, and I like setting up under trees. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area also.
I love to sit at the Marina in the early morning and watch the sun rise. It is so peaceful here. I spent 2 hours here. I enjoy reading a book while taking in the beautiful scenery.
Beautiful park. My family has been coming here for years large variety of recreational activities including trails for hiking or horseback riding, a disc golf course an outdoor pool, and the beautiful lake which has shoreside picnic areas.
Lake is beautiful. Camp sites for campers are in the sun. Other then that is nice. Should have more play grounds closer.
We all Loved it and it was our 2nd time to rent a pontoon
Restrooms and showers excelent; campground under trees or on a lawn; very nice and calm; much place; swimming in the lake possible; clear water; but no real beach; swimming pool there; playing ground for children; good place to stay
Live near here and have never got tired of coming here... Great view, fishing aloud, boating, picnic tables everywhere... Bald eagle watching.. Love this park and very kid friendly. Pool as well
Nice park but lacks amenities. My campsite only had electric. There is a dump station and safe drinking water. Roadway and campsites are paved. Very large lake for boaters and fisherman. Easy access to park and campground.
Plenty of picnic, very nice scenery, plenty of parking, a boat ramp, unfortunately what I went for was to go birding. I saw one blue jay and a dozen turkey. More wildlife in my backyard.
Nice campground with reasonable rates. Plenty of things to do. One negative was our campsite was a mud pit. They can't control the rain, but most parks have gravel or mulch or something if there is a mud problem. There were not even any leaves on the ground and we were in the woods. It's like they raked up the leaves just to make it more muddy. Pick your sites carefully.
Really nice State Park..very beautiful
Love coming here to fish, hike, kayak and picnic. Nice and clean.
Amazing! Rent Kayaks for around 40 bucks or go even better and rent a Pantoon Boat for 4 hours. If there are at least 5 of you you soend less then you would on a kayack which is an amazing upgrade. Boat license is not required. Id suggest boating all around and pulling off to the side in still water and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Its more then worth the money. I would do it every weekend if possible. I would suggest doing it duri g the week or getting there very early on the weekends. The weekends are slammed. During the week is much more laid back, no waits and less water traffic.
