Place was clean and fun. Dj needs to have more variety of music. Birthday party host could have been a bit more involved. More entertaining not just moping around. Food was decent. Recommend the chicken wings. Pizza was ah.

This is a great spot as there aren't many rinks and this is conveniently located. They have food and an eating area. It's cool spot to host kids parties. Family skate is not too crowded and well controlled. Bring a fanny pack or leave your personal belongings behind as the lockers don't lock and people go through my things all the time during adult skate. Fortunately nothings been stolen bc I only pack sneakers and water.

My husband and I love skating on Sunday Night adult skate from 8-11pm. Get there early as the line starts forming outside the door with security. The parking lot was large and well lite. We prebought our tickets and the staff were nice. The local DJ was showing off is beat. We had such a wonderful roller-skating experience. We loved preforming our complex combination jumps on the smooth wood floor. The skaters here are talented and nice to this La girl.

I wish they had a kiddie rink. Overall it was fun. You have to sign a form, book thru the site. The gliders/ guiders are $7.00. They have some arcade games for play, there is a area to order food and eat. They sell light up necklaces starting at $1.00.

Great place with long tradition and amazing local spot. But a lot of improvements are needed for great experience. Only 3 simple rules for all the participants and they need to be followed by everyone and the referees are there to make sure are implemented and followed by everyone..

My sorority sisters decided to have an outting here so came to support. It has been years since I have been skating so decided to be a spectator. When I arrived I parked in their private lot and there was a line. When I walked on the line they asked if I have a ticket and since I didn't I had to purchase online. That's the only way they accepted tickets. The spectator ticket was $5 and change with taxes and fees. I walked in and boy was it chilly. The event was ok all and all.

This skate rink is really nice. My family and i were in search of a spot that wasnt too far from home. Although this isnt close by, its no where near as far as the location i previous went to in LI. They have sessions of two hours that you can skate. I love the time limit because its perfect when your trying to get the kids together to leave. What i dislike is that we were not allowed into the facility until 3pm on the dot. The line of people trying to get inside was ridiculous and theres only one cashier. People were skipping the line and staff did nothing to control it. I definitely recommend purchasing the tickets online to avoid this mess. I feel like its a little dishonest of this place to make me pay for two hours of skating when i didnt make it inside until 3:30pm. Crazy huh? Trust me the session ended at 5pm on the dot as well. The staff were all really young. Everyone was helpful for the most part. They didnt seem enthusiastic about answering any questions or providing help BUT they did it. We paid $70 for five people to get in and three skate rentals. We also ended up paying another $21 for three skate mate rails. The rink is huge. It was nice and clean. I love that it seems to be alot of families who visit. It helps alot because you dont have to worry about adults trampling over kids being aggressive skaters. This place does have lockers that you can rent for 50cents. We stuffed all our belongings in there for easy skating. There's a consession stand that has nothing. The slushy machine was magically down when i got to the front of the line however, there was multiple kids walking around with a slushy. They have water and other beverages but honestly not much. I would eat before or after coming here. The rental skates weren't the best. My feet where killing me because they were really hard. Next time i will definitely bring my own pair instead. For the small kids skates, the adjustable ones, you have to leave your ID or car keys behind as collateral. Which i think is nuts. Supposedly people steal them so they started doing that. Honestly this place is great to skate. I will solely come here for that reason. Its a great way to allow kids to blow off some steam and just get a little exercise. I was exhausted after this visit so it's worth it completely. The kids were tko'd in the car ride back home. I cant wait to re-visit.

I’m not an expert skater but this was a lot of fun. Be mindful of the skater pile up (falls) but other than that, it was a blast. There are different times to book, at 2 hour intervals, you can definitely get a great workout in.

Love the people, the music, the warmth of the social environment. Staff is good if not always engaged. They really need to vacuum and shampoo the whole floor ... carpet, rink, all of it. Food isn't great but this is a skater's rink - and most come to skate. Beginner skaters welcome but yes, there are many advanced skaters ... so be aware of your environment. Advanced skaters and good skaters outnumber everyone else on adult skate sessions, so you're warned. But most everyone there is friendly and helpful. Just CLEAN THE FLOOR AND CARPETS!

The Branch Brook Skating rink was recently renovated. Decor was nice, skating rink was smooth, the skates were decent. The food selection was impressive without breaking the bank. Music was catered to all ages! The arcade games needs some attention. Only 2 games appeared to be working but the token machine was out of order so it was no way of knowing.

I booked my son's birthday party there. The lady who was in charge of our party was kind. The only annoying thing is that IF you bring your own decoration, you cannot come in earlier to place them yourself, and they don't put them for you. So you are literally decorating with your guests being there. Also "decorations" for them means utensils plate and cups. Their skates are very old and not in good condition. But all the kids have fun. Grown ups did too! I'll def go there again

Love a classic roller rink and wish there were more still around. That being said, this place could use some improvements. The skates themselves are in pretty bad shape which makes for more falls. Most of the arcade games were broken during my visit. And the little support walker they rent to kids end up causing more falls than support, they just aren't built very well, not stable at all. Still, the prices are decent and it's good fun. Nice to have a place like this around.

The line to go in could be better managed. The rink is huge and the light plays make it fun to skate. There is a "referee" but he would not help people going in the wrong direction. The music and announcement are very loud. This made it hard to hold a simple conversation.

Well recommend to classes on Saturday morning’s even though season makes the time change. The instructor work to get you skating right away no matter the level of skating condition your in. But remember have fun at skating!!

My son had his 8th Birthday Party at BBP Skating Rink and it was amazing. The party manager, Bree, was patient, responsive, and informative during the booking process. Everything went smoothly the day of the party, from check-in, to skates, party area, everything. Our host, Darrin, was top tier! Personable, pleasant, funny, and social. He was ON IT and it meaning everything. You would have thought he had on roller skates the way he was moving around the facility. The only complaint the kids and adults had was the session time was two short. We all wanted to get back on the floor but it was time to roll out and go home. BBP should consider longer session, although it might mean one less session. Kudos to everyone on the team, facility was clean, DJ was jamming, everyone did what needed to be done! 🎉🛼

Wow! My first time at this place and it did not disappoint! We went for the Sunday Night adult skate from 8-11pm. Get there early as the line starts forming outside the door. Once inside you pickup your skate rentals, tuck your belongings away, and get to skating. If you’re a beginner like me be mindful that MOST people have some serious skills! They will be performing their tricks all around you which may seem scary at first but is so fun to watch! I just loved seeing the creativity, culture, dances, and smiles of everyone in their element having a great time. Kudos to Newark for housing a safe, clean, and fun facility for locals to enjoy. If you’ve seen the movies Roll Bounce or ATL you may definitely feel like you are within that setting. Come out and Enjoy!

I’m so happy there is a skating rink that still exists. I’ve been here at least five times and each time is a great one! The management is organized, bathrooms clean, and everyone just wants to have fun. My daughter and I usually go around 2 pm and I could count the heads that were in attendance. What a cheap date? It only costs me $11 bucks because she has her on skates! They even have discounts around any holiday whether it be July 4th, Valentines, Spring break, etc… I hope Branch Brook Roller Rink hangs around for a long time. It definitely makes me scroll down memory lane of my childhood We need a roller skating rink near Paramus!!!!

My wife and I went last week Sunday for Adult Night. I enjoyed myself. The process to get in was not long at all. The music was great. The atmosphere was good. The only thing I didn't like was the smell lol but what do you expect from a place where you have to take your shoes off lol, maybe there could be a way to freshen the air. I have my own pair of skates, however my wife does not. The guy behind the counter was nice looked a little bored but nice. The only thing they bothered me was my Wife actually fell and got hurt little bad. No one helped not even the guy who was the cause of her fall. Everyone is not a experienced skater so people should be mindful of that. I also think that staff should be out skating also so they can see what happens. I would have helped anyone if I seen them fall n get hurt. I would have helped my Wife but I didn't see her fall just the after math. Overall the experience was a good one. I will be back but my Wife stated she will not skate but will come back.

First time there. Will definitely be heading back. I rollerblade so I take them with me when I go to a rink. I haven't been on quads since I was a kid. If you are a slow skater and you go on Adult night,just be careful. Look over your shoulder because someone could be flying by you and possibly bump into you and make you lose your balance. So if you are a bit wobbly, be careful. Nothing negative because I'm sure it's like that at other rinks on their adult nights. DJ was amazing and atmosphere was great!

Absolutely LOVE this spot!!!! There is such a tremendous vibe and skate life community!!! I only go on Tuesday’s. And the skate instructor is AWESOME!!! He encourages you and makes you feel comfortable executing the maneuvers that are taught. Such an awesome experience!!!

The event price was good. I love that they have events with meals included. The music was good. They don't do any of the typical roller rink games (hokey-pokey, dice/number game, racing), change directions, or couple skating so it was kind of boring after a while.

Came for the first time and had a blast!!!! I've been trying to find a good skating rink and I think we found it!!!! Let me break it down really quick.... the music was current, enjoyable, dance-worthy, the rink is a big but can get a bit congested (but that's why they have sessions), make sure you bring quarters if you need to lock up your belongings.... note; wish they had more food options but other than that I was super happy, i will be returning 😄😄😄

I always have a good time here. The music selection is always on point. Best to go here on Friday, Saturdays or Sundays if you have little ones. They have adult nights too so you can check that out on their website. The price is decent.

It was a new feeling to visit the roller skating rink I went to when I was a child in Korea with my family in the United States. It was a weekday, so there weren't many people, so I was able to skate happily. However, the cleanliness was not good and the arcade was inconvenient because there was a time limit. There was no money in the vending machine, so I couldn't use it. I think it needs a lot of improvement.

Our host was great and accommodating. The kids had fun skating during the birthday party. The DJ wasn’t that great, I was a little disappointed. I kept wondering when they were going to turn the lights off so that the kids could get that “glow in the dark “effect . It happen 30 minutes toward the end of the 2 hour session. Overall, it’s still a good option for a kids birthday party .

A friend and I decided to go skating and looked up roller skating. Branch Brook came up with great reviews but, it was an hour away in Newark NJ. We were skeptical but, decided to take the drive. We are older ( in our 50's ). We arrived a little early on a Saturday evening 7 pm session. A crowd was forming already outside. They hard people already organizing the line. We get in and the facility was very clean and the staff extremely nice. I had skates and we had to get a pair for my friend. What a great time we had. It was a nice crowd but, not too many people. I am not sure if they limited the number of people. Music was on point for skating. People looked like the were really enjoying themselves a lot. I huge Birthday party was going on in another section. I will definitely be going back.

Visited from out of town. Inexpensive activity for the kids. Music was good. Cons: The young lady working the ticket window the night of 1/12/2019 at 8pm had a really bad attitude and should not be in customer service. The tokens ran out in the machine so the games were limited. I wanted to purchase $20 worth of tokens but only $6 was available at the prize register.

Awesome vibes, security, great music, and just fun. Whether you like to spectate the skaters or join in, their adult night is a very good time. Parking can be a problem so get there early! (I'm one of those nobody gets 5 stars unless you've really earned it, so 4 stars is awesome from me)

It is a fun spot, however beware of the "pro-skaters" showing off on the floor. They have absolutely no respect or regard for anyone else's safety, which kind of takes the joy out of the experience. We get it, you are awesome at skating, but do you think you can let others enjoy it as well? Also, most of their lockers don't have keys, so you're out of luck if you want to lock up your valuables.

The kitchen area REALLY NEEDS TO IMPROVE WITH SERVICE. One person Taking orders and money and serveing food. So what are the other people doing back there. I did see some servicing the party table, but there were people just standing back there. The women bath need bleach and zapp. It just smells like a big butt!!! I went to the Saturday ( 5:30-7:30) sesion and found it to be quite expensive. For myself ...(with my own skates) , my two daughters (11 and 13) who had to rent skates came up to $50. Im not sure if the price has amything to do with covid or just inflation, but as a skater for years Im trying to understand the increase in price . I dont know what the overhead is in a business like this ( DJ, electricity, food ...which should be a separate cost, and heat which should be somewhat low being that you exert so much energy skating). Maybe they are trying to make up for the lost revenue from the non use of the lockers....So be prepared to have someone watch your belongings or leave them in your car. By the way, even though you purchase tickets online , you still may have a line of people filling out waver forms ( outside in the cold)in order to skate. The music and crowd was ok ....just make sure you get there early because there can be a long line to get in and then there will be a long line that you have to wait on to get your rental skates...you are down to about 11/2 hrs to skate, out of a 2 hr session.If you purchase something to eat , be prepared to wait on the slowest line ever...but that has always been the case. Its a nice place to go with security and thats why I gave it 3 stars. I wonder if this rink is privately run or run by a local / state government agency. Unfortunately we dont have many options if we want to take our children skating.

We are from out of town and celebrated our son's 6th birthday at this roller skating rink. It's a bit pricey in my opinion. The admission and skate rental was $14. for kids, non-skating parents were $2., the little gate skate helpers were an additional $7, to rent. The music and atmosphere was good. The food and drinks were delicious, and well priced. Except the cotton candy, it was stale with crunchy crystals along the bottom.

Staff was very accommodating & special thanks to the manager for listening to a small gripe we had about booking through Eventbrite. Besides that, good music, fun atmosphere, lots of experienced dancing skaters during adult skate hours. Wish I could join in lol but I did have fun busting my butt😂 Hopefully I can practice some more soon.

I attended today with my 3 daughters. We had a wonderful time. That place was clean and the staff were very attentive. The music was good and everyone skating was very considerate of smaller children learning to skate. The young man working was very attentive and responsible. He made sure to walk the rink frequently to help people. My kids loved it and we will be back for sure!

Great Dj & good vibes...didnt expect much from the experience, but I was pleasantly surprised. Skate rental was smooth, but those things hurt. Also, it gets packed and hot, so dress accordingly. fyi... Don't park on the grass or on the ramp into the area, or you will get ticketed. Bring cash for lockers and beverages. No atm machine!

This place is a dancer's paradise. Finally black skate culture at its finest - NYC skate culture not only sucks but is dead and needs to bow down to Newark. Yes, stand up Newark as I met a skater from Queens and I am from upstate NY. I would rather come to this place then skate at either of my local rinks because of the energy of my people, the music, safety, the lighting and most importantly, the dancers. Yes, skaters are dancers on wheels moving 5-10 mph. Skating is an art form and this place is the canvas to perfect your art. This place is now my roller skating home.

Branch Brook is like the last of the Great original old school roller rink. Nice even polished floor amazing DJ and you always get a parking spot. I always go on Sunday - Adult Skate night. so I don't know what the rest of the week is like. The crowd is cool, all different types getting along having fun, and enjoying themselves (and wearing masks). Can't beat that these days!!

We had a blast! Music was great, its a safe and fun place. My only issue was that it was soo hot in there. Please turn the AC or use the big fan that was unplugged! We ended up leaving early because of how hot me and my friend were especially while wearing the masks.

They’re the ONLY skating rink left in North Jersey 😢 I go here once a week and I love it. The people are nice. My one complaint is that they advertised a 2000s night but didn’t play 2000s music… they often play house music a lot. So if you’re not really into house music bring headphones …

We loved skating there. The pizza was actually very delicious with drink special. The music was good at times. Old school my favorite mixed with the new. The crowd was pleasant and respectful at the 3 to 6 pm time slot. I felt safe and good customer service. I definitely will return again very soon.

This spot is mad nice!15$ tickets that you gotta buy online that include the skates. It was pretty full on Sunday but everyone was just happy to skate. You'll have your showoffs that might take you down but usually come back and check if your okay. If your new you'll have people yelling advice from outside the rink which my gf found helpful. DJ playing some good soca playlist and clearing the floor for the showoffs to dance for a little was a nice entertaining break. The floor was smooth but the skates were a little too wore so if you got your own bring those. Even with a packed parking lot, felt like there was still good room to skate and avoid collisions . Ill be going on weekdays to practice or bring newcomers cause weekends are definitely for the queens and ducks .

Went on a Friday and the DJ was horrible. The entire 2 to 3 hours there he only played 2 relatable songs and it was all over the place. Keys were missing from lockers so you had to literally search for somewhere to store your items. It was a game of luck up if you can with the lockers and just loose with the music.

I was there on Saturday, and what an experience. It was my first time roller skating it was so much fun! The staff was friendly and helpful. The DJ was really good too. I was a little skeptical about the skates since they look old, but they performed well. There’s lockers where you can put your stuff for .50c and, two police officers by the door just to be safe. So overall, the environment is chill, and family oriented.

Love love love this place! Amazing music and brings back an old school flair to a sport that is hard to find in the Northeast. The staff is super friendly and the only complaint I have about this place is that so many of the skaters are advanced that they almost knock intermediate and beginner skaters down. The pizza isn’t half bad and it’s super roomy. I often travel from Queens NY all the way to Newark to visit this place. Such an amazing time, especially on adult nights.

Nice place to go and skate for cheap. You can skate for 3 hours while listening to music and vibing. It was great to see all the ppl who were there dancing in their skates and had a group of people to do routines with. That is the main reason I go and to also enjoy myself as well.

I visited the Sunday night 9pm to 1 am session. It was Amazing. Good Music. Hip hop with a mic of old classics from James Brown to Envogue. I also heard House and mellow techno. They have a nice mix of ages. Young and middle age people. Beautiful women and just a great energy. There is a familial feeling about this place. I love it there.

My niece, boyfriend, and I had a great time here. We attended the All the Pizza you can eat night and really had a blast! The pizza was good, brought me back to my childhood. Lots of positivity and fun! Workers were helpful - didn't have any negative experiences with them. They were enjoying themselves despite them actually being at work. There were always nice people their to assist my niece whenever she fell (when I wasn't falling myself). I wish that the adult sized skates supported your ankle more. (This just means I'll purchase my own skates!) The bathrooms are disgusting! Have your kids go before leaving home and you should have a great time! Newark's hidden gem!

I read before that you can't bring your own skate, but I asked and they told me that it's ok to bring your wheels. I like in-line skates. I would recommend this place to everyone

I went on adult night (Sunday). The rink is in very nice condition and the music was great too. To control capacity for Covid, the rink is selling tickets online using Eventbrite, and they usually sell out the same day they become available. I purchased tickets for myself (without skates), and for my girlfriend (with skates), which came out to $35.14 , which is expensive for a night of skating from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. I hope the prices come down once capacity limits are lifted and people can purchase tickets at the rink again.

Love this spot. Went for my sons 5th bday and he enjoyed himself along with his friends. Affordable entrance rates although you have to pay $7 if u want the skating helping rack for your kids. Because if you arent alert, kids will leave them unattended and others will grab it. Now u have to rent another one for $7 each

The place is extremely fun! The employees are very nice nice. There's always enough rentals. I visit the place often, not once has a size not been available. The place is always very clean including the bathroom. I will say this, the sodas are very expensively. The food is a bit pricey. However, locker rentals are only $0.50 cents an extreme bargain, things balance our, I suppose! 😏 Definately a place to bring the family. Oh, if have your own rollerblades or rollerskates you're more than welcome to bring them, although if you're under 18 you must rent then from the place! Oh well is still a bargain! Trust you'll have a great time for a great price! Plus the DJ is fantastic and takes request lol 😂

Fun place. Music can be inappropriate for kids at times. Look into the cheaper nights Monday night and Wednesday night? Make it like 6-7$ per person if you also need to rent skates. Some of the people there can really dance. Lockers are 50 cents quarters only. If you unlock it you need to pay to use it again so leave everything at once. You can't skate with bags on your person. I went on a slower day and they gave you wrist guards. Totally worth it if you don't know how to skate. Junk food available on site.

I was very disappointed in having my daughters 7th birthday party here. With all the money spent, the party was disorganized. I had placed orders prior to the party and the day of the host did not know what I had ordered-finally after realizing these things missing I had to show proof and was finally able to get the things I had ordered. Not to mention the party had to be paid in FULL the day before so that means everything that I ordered was previously paid for. I ordered UNLIMITED drinks for the party that turned into 1 round. I think the party host was to busy with additional parties at the same time, so the attention on my party was not there. The skating rink was very big, which there was enough room to enjoy and have fun, this is why I'm giving 3 stars because we definitely enjoyed skating.

So one of my friends got pushed around several times from one of the adults there. I think he was going way to fast, and crashed into my friend face first. Over all, I think the place is awesome to skate at, but I don't think people should go so fast! I mean, there are so many little children there and some adults there go way too fast. The claw machine is great, but a lot of the times it gets stuck. At least it gives you endless chances until you get a prize.

Music on adult nights is decent, the skating beat is on and off. The skaters here create a great atmosphere among themselves, the positive energy that flows allows you to be at your best all night. the local skaters are rink friendly even on close contact when it's crowed, the positive energy of the skaters always contributes greatly to the skating experience...highly recommended, an exciting skating neighborhood.

I took my camp group here as we have been here before in the past. The children were age 9, 10 and 11. Everyone did not know how to skate but they had a great time. The staff gave everyone wrist guards and a few campers had walkers to help them skate. If your going with a group get there early.

The place is dated and could use a face lift but it's doable. The children feel so comfortable and competent here. I love the fact that it is a safe place for families to bring thier children. I commend the fathers because I saw a lot of fathers with their child/children here. The law enforcement officers were present and everyone has a good time. The music isn't very loud and the selection is family friendly. I mean nothing with profanity. They sell food and candy. I find that 14 dollars per child is too expensive. If you bring your own skates you can pay 10.00 less. There is parking all around the park and the parking is free. In the evening at 9 the adults can skate. The staff is very professional and attentive. There is a man who is around to fix the skates. He was in the red tee shirt dancing. The bathrooms were very clean. Some of the fixtures were missing. The party section is ok too. But meh.. Anyway check out my photos.

The location has received a major face lift ( floor is a little bit rough though, already, and needs maintenance) and improvements, a great atmosphere, skaters are very friendly and go out of their way to welcome you and are eager to share the floor. Great energy.oveall for sure. Becareful with a few reckless skaters with little regards of their surroundings or other skaters, definitely bring crash equipment you'll needed,(need to enforce skate rules) a few individuals just standing square in the middle ( dancing in place, and not moving ) in the outer part of the rink which is intended to skate forward only, as the staff has mentioned in the reponse, while everyone else is trying to skate forward these individuals just stand there to be the center of attention and consequently they create serious falls and crashes , again as web administrator stated, "outer floor is to skate forward in the same direction as intended." ( the middle area of the floor is used for practicing spins, group skating, dancing in place,), people are passionate on their skates, music is great, sometimes club music which is too fast to skate to, but someimes DJ gets going and gets it right with the right skating beat and generally gets people going, great fun.

We were celebrating for my son's 10th birthday. In the beginning everything seemed fine but then the floor attendant told me that I could not skate with my backpack and it had to be placed in a locker for .50¢. I did not know that it was .50¢ everytime you open the locker. So, I went in the locker to get some cash and had to pay another .50¢ to continue using it.... That's a rip-off and it sucks! We also rented 2 skating guide-bars for $7 each. However, as soon as my son's turned their backs, both of them were stolen. Even though I notified the floor attendant about them both being taken, she made no effort to try and recover what I paid for. Her attitude said it all. She just walked off with an "I don't care" face. There were no identifiable marks to prove that they were mine. So I paid $14 for something that someone else was allowed to use instead of my own kids. You guys need some major upgrades.... Let's start with the skating guides. By now, there should've been some way that you can link them to who paid to use them. It's not fair that I paid $14 for them and other people were able to use them. I was not happy today.... Neither was my birthday boy!

One of the last urban roller rinks in the Northeast and it doesn't disappoint. The carpet glows in the dark, the rink is wood and 90s hip hop is on the soundtrack. Really fun and, if you grew up in the 80s, a blast of nostalgia. Only complaint? The skates are only in men's sizes.

This is a pretty nice skating rink. The rink is big so plenty of enough room to skate. Staff can be a little rude sometimes but overall are pretty nice. I only give it 4 stars because of the people who skate there. Professionals skate here and this is sort of like a kids rink to me so when they are moving all over the floor it kinda throws the kids off causing them to fall. Also when you go, be aware of your surrondings. There is this man that is kind of weird looking and just stands there and kinda dances so i would just be careful around him. Overall i luv branch brook and will continue to come here

This rink will never be bought out or destroyed because it is funded by the city. With that being said, the place is being ran on a shoe string budget. Always a good last minute idea or a place to learn to skate. Food is okay. The usual stuff. And the skates usually smell funny. So buy your own skates to save time.
