Reviews of Sixth Avenue Skatepark
Great place for beginners .super chill environment.. love the balcony that over looks everything . 12 bucks for two hours.
This place has been nothing but good to me and my son (currently 16) over the several years he’s been coming here to learn and grow as a skater and human. Population and personalities are diverse, and the staff takes a genuine interest and care in the kids (and parents) who come through. Having read the few negative reviews, I can only surmise that some folks are just compelled to complain when things aren’t absolutely perfect, or don’t go their way, or that dust exists in this world. Such is life. Kind, caring staff, terrific indoor facilities, respectful and patient skaters overall. Highly recommend.
New location from when I skated about 15 years ago a little smaller than I remember but more Friendly people and environment my son loved it halfpipe is awesome pretty pricy but understandable due to how so many Californians moving to TN and paying way over value jacking up everyone's property taxes. Other than that will for sure be going back every weekend.
I bought my son's first skate board here. Very helpful and kind people. We definitely enjoyed spending our money here. I will be getting my son some private lessons too.
Amazing skate park, coffee shop and concert venue.
We had fun! Friendly staff, has a skate shop and it’s not crowded on a Friday morning. Super slippery park but it’s expected indoor. Bring food and water!
Really lovely people and vibe. Great for kids and advanced. Great shop and really welcoming to new skaters!
Great setup friendly environment, shout out to the staff they were lit. Plus skate shoes are hella cheap.
This place was dope! Music, a sick skate park, games, and the food trucks there were on point be sure to try Erica's touch of taste.
Love this place! My son has taken a few lessons here, went to skate camp and just comes to skate. All of the staff and instructors are so helpful and friendly! It's a great community and skatepark!
Been going here for a while now. Absolutely adore how the space was utilized. Has a little bit of everything and the obstacles are well built. The only issue is its quite slick with harder wheels. Definitely recommend a softer wheel and be prepared for traffic on busy days.
Great mini-ramp to skate. Mellow and smooth! It's a good height too. 5ish, to 6 and one 7 foot section. It can be a little slick. Just put on some softer wheels and it's all good. Definitely recommend!
My son loves 6th Ave. friendly and knowledgeable staff and a great indoor and really fun small outdoor park.
Staff was friendly and helpful and drinks weren't too overpriced. Enjoyed seeing ERRA live.
My daughter is a roller skater and went on ladies night. She had a great time trying new things she hasn't been able to do at the outdoor skate park. This is a friendly safe environment.
Super cool place, big skatepark with a lot of quarter pipes and banks. They also have a giant mini ramp which is perfect to learn how to kick turn on. Only think I wish they would do different is keep the AC cooler
My boys love this place. I’m old enough to remember the Cool Springs Rocketown and can’t figure out why we haven’t been back sooner. Nice people. Great facility. Tons of fun to beat the heat.
Drove from Louisiana and had to check this place out. Nephew and I loved it. Amazing staff and great skate park. Definitely made the drive worth it!
Very very nice managers. No complaints. good for kids through adults. Would attend this place again if got the chance. So much to do for everyone. check out events schedule.
Great place to skate! I'm still a beginner but have still enjoyed lots of different parts of this park and keep learning new areas all of the time. I'm here pretty much any time it rains and will probably be here very regularly as it starts getting darker earlier.
They do lessons for really reasonable rates and they were a HUGE help. Everyone at the shop is friendly and they have a good selection. Family friendly as well.
Cool place most you guys complaining on the skatepark reviews are talking about the concerts they have nothin to do with each other but yeah nice people cool place and good selection
Went years and years ago all the time as a teenager, and have some of the best memories there! Was able to take our kiddos to the Zauntee show a couple of weeks ago and it brought back wonderful memories.
The owners are absolutely incredible, and the place looks so good!
Our favorite skate park! It's so much more than just skating! Definitely a must to visit when looking for a place to go skate, blade, and bike ride. Fun for all ages and the price is beyond excellent. Safety equipment, and boards available at skatepark. The staff are very helpful and awesome to work with.
Great place to bring your kids!
Visiting from CT and this was the best!! The staff was helpful and informative. It was clean- wish we had something like this back home. My boys loved it!
I've never been to a skatepark but my four year old has been asked for a skateboard for about a year. I decided to sign him up for a lesson before buying the board. Our instructor was will and he was great. Very patient with my son who cried pretty much the entire time but actually learned a few things. We probably won't be back until my son is older but the overall experience was great!!
This is an amazing park inside and out!
Just moved to town. Nice people, very helpful. Cool place. Feels good to support local!
Great place, friendly people and staff. Brought four 12 year Olds for a bday and they had best day ever.
Outdoor park is ok, indoor park and skate shop are really nice but you have to pay for the indoor park and they won’t let you wax anything. It’s also really slick.
Amazing venue and wonderful place for young kids to have community! They do amazing things!
Great venue for a show. My girls had a blast at the Why Don't We concert.
I am a local scooter rider that comes there really often and this skatepark is amazing but I just really wish that they could build a box jump or just a bigger bank. Even a small spine would be nice. I hope that you guys see this and could possibly do something like that for the scooters, bikes, and skateboard. There are no skateparks in Tennessee that have a box jump or any type of big air jump. If we could get one of those back I would be so happy. Thank you!
great pplace i dont be there any more but im cool with all the workers there very chill place.
Really neat place for people to hang out. Lots of things to do, indoor and outdoor skatepark, basketball, tons of board games, a coffee and snack bar.... Lots of things. My son enjoys going here any time he can. Glad to have it available in the metro area.
Super great layout awesome park provides helmets worth EVERY penny!
Really cool park and store. I witnessed an employee helping a small skater repair a hole in his shoe. Always nice to see people have patience with the young ones. Definitely check it out if nearby.
Family friendly and great place to learn how to skate! Love the environment. They really know skateboarding and contribute all the time they have to make sure everyone has a great time.
Skate camp is professional, nice guy sold me a great board w a dbz grip tape for a great price, next time I came with my friend this random dad with a cool beard helped us put trucks on the boards,,,,, great community, great people, great venue,,, come on down!
Best place to skate in Nashville. Staff is friendly and polite.
It's a nice place for teenagers when you're traveling
We had our wedding and our reception at Rocketown and it was better than we could have imagined. It's located off of 4th Avenue South so it’s closed enough to downtown to be convenient for all of our in town and out of town guests. Additionally, it was very spacious and the parking was more than adequate for our 250+ guests. Another great thing they offered is an open vendor policy so you were not tied to any specific vendors which can be nice when you trying to cut some corners financially. Mary Virginia Settle was our main contact and events coordinator and she was awesome to work with. She was accommodating, hardworking, and extremely friendly. The rest of the staff was also very helpful. The venue is open and has a cool industrial feel. It’s a versatile space then can change to whatever mood you are looking for. Also, it’s got a cool vibe and message with the skater/biker kids and youth outreach programs. If you’re looking for a unique venue and a great experience then this if your place. I would definitely recommend this venue to friends and family. Overall an A+++
As a 13 year old who still currently skates at this skate park it is amazing. With a skateboard park that ranges from beginner to pro. I love this place man.
Been coming here for 2 and a half years. Great skatepark even greater community.
We had A-blast out here! It would be nice to have designated smoking area with a butt can though.
Nice people skate shop Is good and Cafe connected is nice. The skatepark itself is good but the ramps are very slick keep that in mind
Really good place to skate, also super nice employees and a genuine community of cool people
Interesting venue when they have hardcore shows there.
We were visiting to escape hurricane Irma and my son found this park. It was well maintained and had a ton of ramps. He had a blast.
Six avenue isn’t just a skatepark, it’s an awesome community, and i really recommend you get check out the place and the people there <3
The skate park obstacles change every few months to keep things fresh. The floor is a little slick for harder wheels. Go on Tuesday nights to skate for free after skate church. Great staff!
Family love's this place, so that does mean a lot. If you like concerts you'll love this place. Great musicians, pastors, and real people. Neighborhood is a little rough but that's how good churches are made. Parking lot is a little cramped. They do an excellent job of parking everyone. Go check it out for yourself. Place is also called "THE BELONGING "
Great open space with a nice stage and awesome sound system.
Best skatepark and staff ever😎 …
I slid out a lot. Very slick. Cool street course and awesome mini ramp though. Just very dangerous due to the slickness.
Often crowded.
Son loves it! Great staff! Cool summer programs.
Great space for events and the skate park is very cool.
Really fun but ramps are really Dusty and slick though, otherwise it would be a 5 star review.
Not much here anymore. Used to be way more fun
Matt Small one does an outstanding job ministering to your mind and heart on Sundays!
I took my 11-yr-old daughter here to see R5 and I was pleased with the venue. I loved that they offered free parking, which is almost unheard of in downtown Nashville. The place was clean and I felt it was a safe atmosphere. The concessions were decent and weren't too overpriced. I could see how some might get irritated with security because they check you EVERY time you re-enter the building, but that's the price you pay for a safe environment.
Overall I really liked this place and would definitely feel at ease about bringing my daughter here for another concert.
Great people there,a little park right outside of the skate park mini but decent.
All ages venue with skate park. Pretty new building.
6th Avenue is a great place to skateboard...especially when the weather is bad outside. When the weather is good, there are obstacles outside to skate.
Great shop, nice guy. Set my board up for me tried his best to save me money
Saw KooKoo Kangaroo in a different building then the main one. Great show and good sound. The staff was very friendly. Mistakenly, I went to the main building first where was a different show. They kindly directed me to where the the KooKoo Show was and chatted with me for a minute.
Parking is easy and plentiful.
Can't say enough good things about this place. Sixth Ave is full of incredible staff, great products, wonderful customers and a fun park.
Great little music venue
Best value for a wedding in Nashville. The venue is very flexible in adjusting to any bride's vision. The staff is so helpful. There was no up-charge for the little things like lights and chairs. They have no ties to any other vendors so my bride and I could bring in anybody we wanted without pressure. Best money I have ever spent.
We come here to visit Midtown Fellowship Church whenever we are in Nashville on a Sunday. It's our favorite congregation to pop in on.
Over all great but the decks can be a bit slippery.
Great facility with awesome staff! Thanks!
Rocketown is a sick venue. Love attending metal shows there. The security company they hire is really irritating, and for that reason I'm removing a star from the overall review.
If you love to sing, you should show up on Sunday at 7:05 p.m. Or on Tuesday nights at 7:35 If you are an audio professional or have sensitive ears, you may want to bring earplugs as it's louder than a jet engine in this place with the huge speakers they have that can cause permanent hearing loss sometime in your future. It seems that the drums and the electric guitar and the bass overpower every other musician in the bands for some reason.
It's cool just need big banks, and make it a little bigger, but hey I like it btw I'm from Atlanta
Great place to be encouraged to Know JESUS Christ
This place is the best place in the world for skaters. The workers are considered family to me . Friendly people👍👍👍👍👍 …
Great place to go. Skate inside and outside. Place to hangout for parents too.
Great place. Cool vibe. Great for kids.
Great people and it's well kept up too
awesome skate park, they gave me a free 10lb ham 😂 check out my Instagram. @austin_l_james …
Sixth Ave is an awesome place to skateboard! The staff is awesome. Especially Dane :)
It has a chill vibe, and the people were very helpful
My name is James and I like to scooter, Christian Modica is a kool boss man
Large open space for meetings with a kitchen area to the side.
Rocketown Is a very safe place for a concert venue. The staff may be a bit off but usually good people and a safe concert environment. If you are a parent reseaeching rocketown don't worry. They will be properly taken care of if anything happens. One of the best venues I have been too. There are other venues that allow way better bands but rocketown is where I felt the safest. Not perfect but safe
Staff was really helpful setting up a board.
Awesome place awesome ppl and awesome service.
This place a very slick.
You are so cool Matty b
Love you
Best place in Nashville for a "family" skatepark experience. We love it.
This place was so sick! Can't wait to try and make it back!
Staff is great and my son always has fun.
Support your local skateparks man. We need more around here
Way to slick. Slide out all the time. Guess I'm just to used to concrete
Rocketown is a community based facility that incorporates many things in Nashville that thrive music, art, dance, alternative sports. It is the Mecca for breaking (teacher: Vanicia) and skateboarding (Nathaniel) in TN. Rocketown is not only known for community programs but also has been venue to many musicians and churches to have events. I love rocketown has been a place of joy for 8 years now. I've grown because of this place and the people. Definitely check out events and classes that go on here.
Kids had a really good time...
