Reviews of Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park
Tammy Wylie
One of the most beautiful places in town! Lots of trees, lots of green space, a carillon, wat memorial and even a farmers market!
After the traffic and noise of downtown, this was a terrific relaxing site. Loved the giant rotating globe in the war memorial! Kids were invariably drawn to reach out and touch it. As it rotated in the fountain water, the continents came into view and the water drained off. It was an amazing thing to watch!
Walking down the sidewalk you can view historic moments and lots of names of people who impacted the city, state and country. Loved the benches and open areas.
GLR
A very nice clean park. They have a wide open place to read a book, let the kids play or jog around the perimeter. There are several monuments engraved to the history of Tennessee and it's local history. There is ample parking with plenty of designated handicap places. I saw several dogs being walked on their leash. This mall park is below the capital and adjacent to the farmers market and the Tennessee State Museum. It has free parking at both ends of the mall area

Really nice park to walk through. Great history along the way. Lots of people walking with families and dogs. You have the Nashville Farmers market is beside it and the state museum is next to it.
You can get your state park passport stamp inside the visitor center. Ranger was really nice to talk to.
Jamel Patterson
Beautiful and free. A testament to Nashville's history and a great public space to relax and take in the scenery.
Located next to a museum, a stadium, and a local market, it provides a great all-around vibe. On top of all that just being a couple of blocks from Broadway keeps you within walking distance of all the highlights!
Alicia Hicks
Beautiful grounds, with so much to see. Like the amphitheater, war monument, bell pillars, and of course views of the capital building. Enjoy the museum, food court in the bicentennial mall, or the farmers market, to name a few. So many festivals, concerts, and movie nights are held throughout the year. Great place for locals to stroll or tourists to enjoy wine tasting and the history of Tennessee.
Nidhi Kikkeri
This is a nice park. Located just across the farmer’s market. Parking is difficult to find. Park has several war memorial stuff. Its a nice place to take a stroll or spend time with kids. Would recommend visiting this place while in Nashville.
NJT Trip
Not many states / cities can boast such a clear and prominent view of their Capitol building. The first time you see it from afar is stunning. The mall itself has plenty of room to lay out in the sun or shade and feels very safe, unlike other parks close to Capitols which have some shady loiterers. There are also things for the kids to play and climb on with a ton of historic signage around.
Rebecca B
Visited Bicentennial Park while in Nashville and it made for a nice afternoon stroll. The history is really interesting if you’re a history buff and the views of the Capitol building are fantastic! It is in a very walkable distance of downtown and definitely worth the visit if you have time when in Nashville.

We've been twice to Bicentennial Capitol Park for New Years Eve Bash!! Both times we seen some of the best Entertainment one could ask for BUT it is so packed when the show starts you can't move 3 inches ou so! This year was a new record attendance...over 210,000 people 😱😲 we also had to stand in line for over an hour before they let anyone come in!! They let us in at 5:30 (had already been there over an hour in line) then stand in a squished up crowd till 8:00 before the guest entertainers started to perform & the stand till after midnight 😮💨 so we was stuck in place up around the stage and once you left to go get a drink, bathroom run, etc....you lost your spot with no chance of getting back to where you was even after standing all those hours to see the performers!! Think we will find something else to do from now on for New Years but glad I did get to see the best performers...BROOKS & DUNN so thanks for that ✌️❤

A nice play to visit and enjoy the park. I believe it may have some esoteric meaning built in to it. I have seen some information and credibility to the fact it is modeled after the spear of destiny! I was happy to see this in person, this an interesting and not easy to spot esoteric symbolism. The bells play in part of it were most enjoyable and I will research it a bit more, either way it was a nice day in the park.
Mark Barnes
This was a great place to visit. It is right next to the farmers market. You will learn alot of history about Tennessee or just enjoy a cool walk with some neat memorials. A must if you are near it.
Ashlie Winget
So much history scribed throughout the park! Listening to the Bells is an experience. Walking and reading all the information about our states history was informational. We even took the time to find our kids schools brick on the pathway.
Michael Irey
Beautiful place. The musical sounds the pillars make is awesome. We really enjoyed ourselves walking around the park and capital building. Happy to not see a bunch of homeless bother you like other states. Feels private and comforting.
Lynn Sixx
Vast open area. WWII memorial well worth the trip. Limited parking, no restrooms, but dog friendly. Bells chime and play a tune on the hour. Tennessee history wall requires a great deal of reading to appreciate.
Alexander Shyshla
Beautiful park! So much to see and enjoy long walks! Good for kids. Free parking. Beautiful views and lots more!
Patrick M. O'Connor
Beautiful park with a nice view of the State Capitol building. Even my teenage son enjoyed the sculptures, memorials, and history.
Randy Nickels
An excellent place to learn about the history of our country (and Nashville) while you walk. Easy parking and lots of shade to keep cool in the summer.
Victor Peng
Such a beautiful place! The area itself is a great site to see with the Capital right in front. The farmers market right next to it is a wonderful place for the whole family. The Tennessee State Museum is next to it as well and can be great for folks of any age!
Nikki P
Love love love this state park. It’s so lively. I also love that the farmers market is so close to this park, you can quickly grab coffee or a bite to eat or boba tea 🧋 …
Elizabeth Flores
Beautiful park!
Parking is free, doesn’t seem like much at first but when you walk the park and read all the history that Tennessee has it’s really amazing!
I enjoyed the chiming bells!
There is also a time capsule there that is scheduled to be open on 11/11/2045
Mike J
What a beautiful park. From the amphitheater, to the world war II Memorial, to the Court of 3 stars. A perfect place to walk off the breakfast you get at the Nashville Market nextdoor.
Rajith Kumar
Very neat and peaceful place for spending a quality evening time.
Nice place for a evening run.
The view to the capitol building from the park is very beautiful.
ProProDaBro
I walk or bike here time to time. It's a real relaxing place when it is quiet and natural sounds are there. I chose this park over others since it is close and pretty large. If you have never been to Tennessee, I recommend you come to this place and check it out for yourself. It has walls of words that you can read about the history of Tennessee. The architecture is well done too.
Sydney Everhart
Great park and place to go when visiting. Went with my two boys and our two dogs and spent a phew hours just soaking in the peaceful morning hearing the organ chimes and reading all the monuments. Really great park!
Mi P.
Nice walk with trees. Park needs maintenance no water at water fountains. Cool small city.
Yan Karasik
Impressive scenery, both the building and the park. Very nice walk with educational info along the way. A must visit in Nashville.
Helena Holcombe
I absolutely love this place. The Farmers market and the food hall are wonderful and such great options!! Even a great vegan place! Great place to come for a visit. The giant marble map of Tennessee is stunning. I love the history timeline along the marble wall and the beautiful quotes near the splash area and bathrooms is captivating.
Phil P.
Lots of history here - love the wall and the bells that go off every 15 minutes.
Sean Bryan
This is a really nice park in Nashville and there is so much to read and see. We spent a couple hours on Sunday afternoon here before our flight back home. Beautiful views, a ton of history, and nice peaceful place to walk and take pictures. If you’re in the area and looking to get away from Broadway and all the other stuff we recommend spending some time at this park!
moyez jaffer
Beautiful Park in the heart of the City with Great Skyline & View of the Capitol Building.
Great place to chill & have a picnic.
Not impressed with what they call a Farmers Market on site, it's just a food court & not many great choices..
I would recommend picking up food elsewhere before going to park if in mood for eating in the park...
Tim Elafros
Beautiful park. I love the wall along the western edge that hosts a timeline going back millions of years and describing what was happening in this area during those times. The farmers market has some good snack spots as well. A little overpriced for any real meals.
Nosferatu Dracula
Well manicured outdoor walking area positioned closed to a farmers market, the Tennessee archives and the state history museum. Free parking and good food make this a great place to walk and enjoy the view of the Nashville state house on the hill.
MyFoodie Travels
Tonight's Nightlight 615 finale was absolutely perfect! There were plenty of Food Trucks to cater to every palate and everything was just smooth and well coordinated.
The DJ was playing really cool music and at 8:30pm, the movie started promptly. All of us were gathered either in camping chairs or on picnic blankets.
This was my 2nd time attending Nightlight615 this summer and I must say I'm really looking forward to the next season in 2023.
Jamee L
What a nice little memorial for the southern confederate and union soldiers who died during this tragic time of event that is part of our history.
Aaron Gillespie
Very warm and casual environment. Great food court and friendly local vendors. Weekends are the busiest time, but that's when all the vendors are present.
Brenda Mikec
Great park with beautiful history in Nashville. The Park Rangers are top notch- very friendly and knowledgable! They also have a lot of free programs for kids available. Lots of open field to run around and play in & a great walking trail loop around the park. You have to witness the bells ringing too! Centrally located next to the farmers market!
Bryce Thumser
We stopped there during a tour and absolutely loved it. Beautiful, clean and quiet! Not to mention quite a bit to see.
Feresamay L
This park is a gem. It's a very interactive, historical and informative. Plus beautiful. All times of the year, during the day, at night. It's just fun. If you're visiting, definitely check this place out! And cool plus, in the center of the pullers, there's a little silver pin. It'll be in the center if the stars on the ground. Find it, and talk. 😊 you'll thank me.
Ben Gu
Historical place, a lot of writings on sidewalks and brick walls explaining the past. Huge park.
There is the farmers market next it where you can grab something to eat.
The train track cuts through the park.
Peaceful and not crowded at all.
Seems like there were a lot of thought into building this park..
Missy Anderson
Beautiful park with lots of native trees and plants! Lots of great history of Tennessee and its people reflected and told in the many monuments. The WWII Memorial is stunning. Plenty of space to picnic, walk, walk your dog, jog or ride your bike.
Hernani Freitas
Lots, lots, lots of history around the park. Great for a long walk around. Don't go in a hurry, take your time to read and understand about the life on those 200 years.
I recommend waiting for some hour o'clock so you get to hear the bells playing.
Pouya Kalantari
That's beautiful Park in Nashville, especially for New years celebration. You can see a gorgeous view of Capitol Hill. It's a structure at the north part of the park, including many columns, and of you stand exactly on the center of which marked by steel pin and make a sound or tap by your feet you can hear that sound echoes. It's one of the must-see places in Nashville
Samantha Rice
Great place for a walk and to let the kids run wild or take a quiet stroll and read all the historical info! Beautiful scenery!
Otavio Maffud Cilli
Great park. Beautiful and well maintained.
Erika Iversen
A park shared by both people and pets. Come for the history or simply to get out or exercise. You can visit the neighbouring farmers market ir take a segway tour around the park. The only negative is that the music that is supposed to play at times each hour did not play at all. There is a WWII memorial and other historic references throughout the park. This is a placed used by both visitors and locals.
Janatan Farmers
Really cool place to walk around, and look at the monuments. It's a historic place, and there are columns and monuments like that all over the place. It's not a very big park, and there aren't a lot of trees, but it's nice to come here for the historical monuments.
S C
One of the most beautiful urban parks I've seen, with lots of tree-lined trails, history monument and modern design. The group of pillars are bell towers and ring on the hour! The park is located next to a great farmers' market and in walking distance to the state capitol building and the modern Tennessee State Museum. It is the highlight of my first Nashville trip during this unusual time where a lot of the attractions are closed or on limited exhibit.
Mary Evans
Small State Park with lots to see. The park is just off from downtown Nashville with the Farmers Market and the Tennessee State Museum on one side and the baseball stadium on the other side. It has an amphitheater, a wall of Tennesee history, and a great view of the Capitol on the hill. It is great for walking,
Henry Farkas
The Bicentennial park is amazing. There's a carrillion, which didn’t play while I was here so I can't comment on the sound. There's a wall with lots of quotations about the rivers of Tennessee. There are plenty of rivers. There's a fountain where kids can run around getting wet and cooling off. And there's a very big map of Tennessee that you can walk around on.
There's parking nearby including some charging stations for electric cars, and there's a farmers market across the street.
Admission is free. I highly recommend this park.
John Bryant
A very scenic walkway and the farmers market was very relaxing and easily accessible and free of charge..
The war memorial was touching.. educational and a Beautiful tribute to the heroes of Tennessee who sacrificed and served our nation.
And taking short stroll along each side of the park has an arboretum on one half and a very historical walk along the other.
Full of information...starting with the formation of the state to the present.
The views are spectacular and memorable .!
Rae G.
Historical in the sense of history best views of the park and capitol hill, performances, events, just a local chill spot and scenery. Right near your farmers market and the newly germantown.
Cali Chriss
This is really an amazing place to take the kids they have a splash pad set up, and tables you can relax here all day and educate yourself! One of my favorite because of the fountains and flags!
Jonathan Cook
Awesome park for long strolls on lazy days. Beautifully maintained and laid out for views. Mature trees provide shade and cover from the hot sun. Large stone map of Tennessee show geographic details about terrain, native Americans, paths and roads, etc.
Ideal especially if your visiting Nashville on a budget.
Marvin Smith
There is so much history to read , it would take for ever to read it all , very clean and well taken care of, birds just playing in the bushes right beside you, it's not anything you would expect in the city, that why I gave it five stars. Also most of the people are really nice , so most will say hello or hi
Hadis Gh
Very nice and beautiful park with amazing monuments to explore and the cute farmers market next ti it! It was our first trip to Nashville and this park was among the first places we visited and walked around! The lovely pigeons around the pond made it even more beautiful! Would visit the park again on our next trip to this beautiful city!
B C
Great experience and a nice walk. Historical facts surrounding the park. A lot of things I didn’t know coming from the northern part of America
Max Otterland
Fabulous place to walk and take in a little history and city in a calm environment. Combine it with a trip to the TN State Museum.
Bethany Rose McRae
Loved taking a stroll with my small children, and hearing the chimes for the first time. They loved playing in the shoots of water after our long stroll.
Anna Langstaff
It was a great place to walk around and learn about the history of Tennessee. A really nice farmers market of local produce. Not over priced and a very good variety of everything. Also a great food court with just about everything you could think or want to eat
Jefferson Egalitarian
Great fun at the bicentennial Park! The sights and scenery of Nashville. Can I get an "ohhh yeaaaa"! Lol🤣 …
EMILY Alexander
Great place to see a live show, Easy to get around once you’re in or you just have to find parking.
brian archer
Very nice display and representation of Tennessee history . Walking pathes through the park and it was very well maintained
Veena Choudary
This was a phenomenal experience!
Stop at the Visitors Museum where the rangers are very helpful. You can pick up a map as well.
There is TN history throughout the very large and very well maintained park. The museum was fantastic. We enjoyed it very, very much and learned so much. It is huge and the staff is very, very nice. The facility is beautifully maintained. Highly recommend it.
The Farmers Market is in the same property too. The bells are on the other end. The TN timeline is spectacular.
A must visit if you are in Nashville.
John Thorne
Nashville's many wonderful attractions include the Bicentennial Capitol Mall. Tree-lined granite walkways are inscribed with facts about Tennessee's geologic, cultural and political history. Water fountains, fields, flowers, an amphitheater and bell carillon make this a special place. Restaurants, Farmers' Market nearby.
Nicole
After spending a few days in the busier parts of Nashville, we decided to check out the Bicentennial Capital Mall. Beautiful and well-maintained park with lots of state history to offer. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, as well as the WW2 memorial. Highly recommend!
Lynetta Marie
Great walk! Lots of historical facts to read.
Steve E.
A lot of thought and planning seems to have gone into this park, and that can't be said for all Civic projects of this type. This is definitely a landmark to check off your list, and would likely be a nice place to go for a run or toss a ball around if you are so inclined.
Randall Jeremiah
Good park for a stroll if you want shade rest under the railroad tracks sitting at the tables there. You can cool off at the fountain simply by running through it. Let your inner kid out. I recommend if you are in the city and need a short break go here it is close and a 30 minutes stroll can help to reset.
Ria Tate
The park was so amazing! I do wish there was some more shading but the trees can only do so much. There was a lot of places to park as well.
Samantha H
What a beautiful park!! Lots of trees, sight-seeing and more! Right next to the farmers market and the Tennessee state museum
Cecilee Shull
Great place to hang out after visiting the “tourist” areas of Nashville. We ate lunch from multiple vendors at the farmers market and purchased some fresh produce as well. There is a water feature that kids of all ages can play in and most of the tour buses stop and go throughout the day. There is also ample parking if you drive yourself. The view of the Capitol building and expansive lawns is amazing from the front trolley stop.
Joseph Collins
I spent a nice weekend camping here in 2010 for Tennessee’s commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War. There was a lot of historical displays there that weekend. The folks running the park were extremely accommodating and helpful. It is a really pretty place stuck in the middle of a city.
Lucas Ralston
Looks like a nice place to take a picnic or to play an outdoor games the memorial to the vets is nice and listening to the Bells ring is pretty interesting
Andrea Gerton
I absolutely love this park. It’s just such a beautiful way to highlight what makes Tennessee so unique. The wall detailing the state’s history and the street showcasing each county are both amazing, but the giant marble globe inside a fountain is just stunning. Equally fun is standing in the middle of the columns and hearing your own voice in surround. Definitely worth setting aside an hour to explore.
Kimberly Hawkins
Went down there for new years eve 2018/2019 to watch the note drop. Kieth Urban gave a great concert that made me a believer in country music. There was plenty of portable potties. It rained prior to the concert and was very muddy. The park was beautifully decorated. Will most defiantly return for an event.
Jennifer Sanchez
I work about two blocks away from this park, so I walk to it every sunny day. It is a great place for a picnic or just a good place for some exercise on paved sidewalk. The loop around the park is a little over half a mile.
Melissa Dobson
Beautiful place, lovely history. We thought it was very neat that the bells rang. Nice to have free parking to visit such a wonderful piece of history.
willy whisman
Nice walk through history. We'll done and learned a lot along the way
Bob Bowser
Wow, so much history. I learn something new every time.
Shawna Boyd
Incredibly nice park. Well kept with plenty of space. There are plenty of benches or grassy areas to sit, I think would be great for a picnic. There is plenty of history to learn while there. You can read the timeline along the wall of the park.
Julia Giannelli
A moving place to go to and see. Well kept up and great green space. Will be back to enjoy again.
Kassi Cusumano
Beautiful spot with WWII memorials and Nashville history. So relaxing and peaceful. Nice place to unwind and relax a little bit while in Nashville.
Alex Lawhorne
It's great if you love history or want to learn more about Tennessee. It is almost like an outdoor museum!
Neel
One of the best places to be on New Year's eve. The ambience, the music, the facilities, the security, and best of all the lineup for the performances were all on point.
Derek
This is a very cool park that has a lot of different Tennessean things like a map of the state in stone and time capsules for each county. It also has a cooler view of the Capitol and a diverse flee market next to it.
Ludovica Scalco
This park is beautiful
I loved walking here in the sun while reading the history of Tennessee, truly recommend
Sumbul Asad

Ron Back Ronnie2Shoes
Interesting place to visit
Debbie Blesi
Beautiful park with a history walk you will want to check out!
Jim Wright
We just stumbled upon this place and it was an unexpected pleasure on our road trip. I wish my home state capitol had a display like this. It's informative and educational about various aspects of Tennessee. You can take it all in in an hour.
Alexis Maher
Very informative and accommodating state park! Nice to be able to sit under the shade of the bridge and watch your children play in the fountain. Also has bathrooms with A/C which is a plus in the summer months.
Christina Brandsma
This is a beautiful park. The downside is that it was not easy to find as I walked from downtown. The upside is the beautifully displayed history and nature throughout the park. There was information about Tennessee’s history, the Tennessee rivers, and Tennessee’s role in world history. I also recommend the farmers market right by the park.
Tim Polk
Really liked this place. Beautiful views. Awesome historical monuments and such. Very recommended.
Jonathan Hamilton Jr
The Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park is one of the best parks to visit in Nashville! And unlike, the Centennial Park in Atlanta, this one shows the walls about the history of the park and I really enjoyed visiting the park reading the history of when it was founded in 1796-1996 from things that actually happened. Great park! Will definitely visit again the next time I visit Nashville.
lisa gregory
Looked like a nice park. Went there for the note to drop on new years eve. It was dark but looks nice.
JC RXN
Great green space to walk around and enjoy the farmers market and the Tennessee State capitol over the hill with a skyline of Nashville downtown.
Robert Mahorney
Great fun beautiful park. We were here for pride and had so much fun despite the rain. Grate views of the Capitol.
JaRise Forever
We visited from out of town. Parking wasn’t an issue. It was a beautiful day for a walk. The intermittent parts of the park with memorials was nice. Clean and kept. Stay for a moment to hear the bells at one end. It was prom night so there was many parties taking photos. It has a Central Park feel but obviously on a much lesser scale. Take a blanket and relax in the grass absorbing the sun. Stay all day or take a quick stroll. In and out quickly.
Mel
This park behind and down the hill from the capitol is a must see. Its a bit of a walk but they have things to see along the way. They have a map imprinted of the state in the concrete and a nice water show with facts about Tennessee. Picnic tables, restrooms and vending machines are right there so you can sit and relax. Head further on and get to their black world globe rotating on water and the pillars with the Tennessee flag imprinted on the ground. When I went they had a flea market and a farmers market, which might be permanent, with tons of food spots to eat. Grab a picnic table outside, sit inside, or go sit in the park. Either way you sill enjoy your time here. On the way back read the wall about the civil war and Tennessee history that spans your whole walk into the park.
OSHENT SIANO
Very nice park in Nashville a lot of things to see and a great walk.
Shiloh Burns
We came to the ampitheatre for the Box Lunch Concert Series. It was wonderful! The park was very clean and well managed. There was plenty of shades space to bring a blanket and picnic. The park is pet friendly. It is a beautiful place to spend the day!

We love visiting the Bicentennial Mall. So much to see. We eat at the Farmers Market next door then head over to the bells and work our way down towards the Capitol. It's a must stop in Nashville!
Phillip Rycraft
Lovely place for a walk from here to the state capitol. I was dropped off at the bell end by the hop on hop off bus and popped in the museum and the farmers market for some food.
Kathy Hicks
Beautiful, sorry we didn't have more time on our tour. Worth the trip
Vanessa Lowe
Great place to learn about Tennessee history. They also have a farmers market and area with so much food. Love it here.
David Estep
I absolutely love this park, I only wished our capital grounds in Florida were half as nice
Shay Arnold
So many wonderful things that have such meaning to them in this area. Let your kids run around in the water, give them an education over the different areas in Tennessee on a ground map, and read all of the amazing granite history lessons along the way. Beautiful views and such green area. I enjoyed myself very much!
Gaurav Hegde
This spot is easily the most beautiful place in Nashville.
Just beautiful!!

Amazing free state park. There's a free history of Tennessee museum thats alot of fun, a timeline exhibit, bell towers, local art, a ww2 memorial. Lots of stuff to do on a budget of 0 dollars. The trolley tour goes through at night too, thats kinda fun.
Brandon K
Gorgeous park, lots of space to walk and play. I wish the parking was better as far as places to park
Megan
Really beautiful and peaceful park in the middle of the city. Enjoyed the nearby history museum and farmers market too. We spent half our day in and around this area.
beautiful world
Nice park, with great views.
Savannah Cairnes
The fountain was not working but even in the rain it was beautiful and peaceful and clean.
Andre Mosley
Always love a great stroll with the family. Pretty good food options.
Jay Bakenhaus
Wonderful place to visit and see the rich history of all 95 counties of Tennessee. The Farmers Market gives you a plethora of selection of local handmade vegetables and fruits to crafts. Inside, the air conditioner or heat is a relief to the outer elements and you have a wide selection of restaurants to choose from and a huge food court to eat and enjoy the view
Phyllis Moore
Absolutely beautiful park! Very reminiscent of The Mall in D. C.
Kathy Lenze
I love this park! We live near here and I walk it nearly every day, at least once. It is beautiful, very well-kept, interesting (lots to read and learn and great people watching), and I feel very safe here. It a wonderful amenity in this area of Nashville.
The Nashville Farmers Market is right next to it and definitely worth a walk through for seasonal produce, a quick bite and some small business shopping.
José Martinez
It's a beautiful place a must visit. I went on Sunday night and it was very quiet. But I was able to take some pictures.

Such a beautiful park! Lots of trees and nature. I went to a music festival here that was super clean and super conscience about the earth. Definitely worth a visit.
Topless97
Very few people during COVID. Wonderful mall with a good Tennessee history lesson. Just a few businesses opened on this Thursday.

Its a beautiful.place to walk and take photos. Restaurant options, accommodations...even a little boat ride.
Ginger Turner (DingyRed)
Third time to visit park. It had been since 2009 when I last visited. The park has it's same appeal. If going through Nashville, I make it a point to stop in. The trees have really grown as I remember the first time in 2001 the park was bare. Fond remembrances from that first time.
Keisha Pearson
First time for Hot Chocolate Race. Love the theme of the park. Markers around to detail key points of Tennessee history.
Great place for runners😉 or family outing with kiddos and pets …

Amazing amount of history. Strongly recommend seeing before it's too late.

This is the best park in downtown Nashville. Has the history of TN wrapped around the park. The capitol mall is gorgeous with The capitol building sitting atop the hill at the end of the venir. The Nashville farmers market and TN State Museum are also right next to the park.
evrwndr81
This park was a nice surprise. If you like history this park is perfect for you.
It has a long area where the walls have historical facts. There is plenty to read.
There is plenty of space for picnics, biking, walking, jogging, or meditating.
It has a beautiful outdoor amphitheatre.
It might lack areas for kids to play other than the open grass area. I didn't see any swings or play area.
I loved it but you might want to take your kids to a different park.
Sherri Gerhardt

Fantastic facilities and excellent quality of services. Being a Nashville resident I have watched and participated with the growth of this farmers market. I must say that from the early 70's to now it has grown exponentially.

Wonderful place full of life and history. People walking, running, relaxing...the WWIl memorial has notes and names of Tennessee soldiers that lost their lives in that war, besides the cronological events of history related to Nashville or Tennessee.
Edwina Milsted
Got to experience this as park of on and off trolley tour. Absolutely beautiful and peaceful park! Wish we had more time to explore! Lots of history and beauty! Nice little farmers market there, too, which was fun to walk thru. Definitely check it out! Nice to see another part of Nashville!

A beautiful venue in Nashville! Love it for the NYE celebration.
Stephen Baggett
If you live in or near Nashville, this is a great place to come and hang out. The food court has a good variety of cuisines for a fair price, the mall and memorials are really nice and I love to hear the carillon bells being played, it is one of my favourite parts of Bicentennial. The farmer's market is also great when it's active. Craftsmen and trade from all over Tennessee and even Kentucky. I love buying pottery from small business local to the area.
Kim C
Overall, it's a really nice way to spend an afternoon. The walk is easy and there are many benches and places to rest if needed. We learned some interesting historical facts about Tennessee and enjoyed the looking at the huge map of the state. The water feature was a welcomed sight on a hot day, as well.
Peter Scott
Very nice park and it is adjacent to the farmers market which is great. A must see if visiting Nashville.
Ivy P
Beautiful place. I spent every weekend walking, jogging and visiting this park and the Farmer's market was really nice too.
Jennifer Mercer
Very relaxed park, chill, beside farmer's market. Love coming down here.
John Meyer
Good time. A little too cold on New Years and standing too long to enjoy the music, or it would have gotten five stars.
Pam Jean
Oh my goodness what a fun time for New Year's. Keith Urban was fantastic.

To whom it may concern:
Overall good.
They need a set of public restrooms on the other end of the park and sitting areas for disabled people who like to walk in the park
Thank you for your time and consideration

We really enjoyed learning the history of this park. Felt incredibly bad that they lost 200 trees I'm thrilled tornado. There was more there than I had thought there would be, and I like that it's so close to the other museums.
Arthur Sosa Jr.
Great park to visit and learn about the state history
Bruce Dzadek
So much history you can't remember it all but a great place to visit
Chloe Jane
Go to the park at dusk to see a beautiful firefly show! Lightening bugs everywhere, even in the middle of the big city! The bells that ring every 15 mins were nice to sit and listen to. There were park rangers and emergency buttons throughout the park so I felt very safe there after dark. Lots of Tennessee historical information to read about while you walk around!
Scott Grenerth
One of my favorite stops in Nashville. Ita nice sized area to explore. There is a huge map of the state showing geological features, a history timeline, and commemorations for military events and more, all outdoors.
The view of the capital building is very nice, including at night.
Jamers McGee
My wife and I enjoyed this park, but we liked the centennial park more, new monuments always seem so bleak and lacking hope for the future, it's strange.
Tierra
Love it here! Very well kept! Wish the globe would float again though!
Maxie Hilaire
Beautiful Park. A must-see of Nashville.
Scott Rodeffer
The only state park in an urban area in the United States! Unique monuments and lots of fun events! A must see when visiting Nashville.

Super nice park they have lots to look at and it stretches for a long ways so bring your walking or running shoes and get ready to do some moving.
Frances Munoz
Beautiful place and farmers market close by
Nathan Fields
This is a historic area in Nashville. Located on the historic French Lick, this area was once inhabited by a host
Acacia Willey
An absolute beautiful area to go for a walk after viewing the Tennessee State Museum. I spent an hour walking the park, taking in the memorials, and having a nice lunch at one of the benches. They’re lots of shade spots for those hot, sunny days.
I only wish the Capitol building was more accessible from the park. From my understanding I would have to walk up a massive hill. It was 96 degrees and humid when I visited. I wasn’t feeling inspired for that. Regardless, it was a still an enjoyable afternoon at the park!
Matt Erickson
Beautiful area, I am here almost every weekend
FLZ
Beautiful park. Truly representative of the great State of Tennessee. Great for walking. Very helpful visitors center. Plenty of parking.
Nicole Agnew
My mom and I came to visit Nashville in late October 2020. This park was one of the many places we visited. The park was very serene and enjoyable. It is very well maintained and a great place to do activities. It was also informative with the wall of inscribed history of Tennessee. I would definitely recommend visiting this park.
Rich Lopez
A beautiful mix of art and history with the striking views of the capital and rich history. It is said that there are time capsules in the statues there set to open in the future holding one of the first Goo Goo bars and Garth Brooks tapes. Don't take my word for it check it out!
Dawn Simmons
It is huge! It has a long half wall with the history written on it. It has a bunch of magnolia trees. There is also an area that has water for the kids to play. There is a gift store.
Barbara Manning
It is a must have to see. There was things I knew about and much more I didn't know. The displays were awesome. I also liked recent items and the art work of local Tennessee's work.
Mily Vargues
Great place for dogs and to get away from the crowds
Gretchen Harker
Great experience for New Year’s 2021/22!! Not too many people — with there were more vegetarian options regarding food trucks.
A B
We went here on a Segway tour. This place was really cool. There’s so much history on display and our Segway guide did a great job pointing that out. The view of the capital is impressive. There is a lot to see and read. There’s a World War 2 memorial and a history wall that explains the state’s history. We really enjoyed reading that. Would highly recommend you visit this area of Nashville.
Ask Ashley
Beautiful park! I was a participating vendor for the 13.1 race.
Angel Hope
It can get super crowded but some days it can be very mellow which makes it a great walk for stressful days. My sage boy and I enjoy everything and everyone on the mellow days.
malavika mathad
Well maintained park. Nice place to hang out.
Gentle John
Great concert. The weather was ideal. Lots of food trucks, beer & whiskey.
Tim Campbell
Great place for New Year's celebration!
Kat S
Beautiful state park
Kristin Anthony
Highly recommend this park, especially the guided ranger hikes. The evening hike with Ranger Wayne was extremely informative. Pleasant walk up the capital steps and around the capital building. Nice views of the city during the sunset, and the buildings at night. Also included information on the statues and displays around the campus.
David Win
This just might be one of the nicest city parks we've ever experienced.
We first encountered it in our last few hours of our first flying visit to Nashville, and vowed to investigate it further if we ever managed to return. Fortunately, the city left such an impression on us, we actually returned the next year (2017), allowing us to get to know the park better.
The timeline wall detailing historic events was a fascination as well as an education. The kids playing in the fountains in an attempt to stay cool, charming. The open space in the middle of the hubbub of the city, a welcome escape. The views up to the civic buildings atop the hill are great, but by far our most favourite thing was the chiming clock towers at the far end of the park. We shared a wee moment of magic up there when we managed to get the place to ourselves. Don't miss it, and if you arrive late or early, wait for the show on the hour. It's a joy!
Stephen Harmon
Beautiful place in the middle of a vibrant city.
Sherry hospodar
Love this place alot of literature of history plan to spend a day there. So cool what history didn't teach us. Museum was free spend a day there too alot of neat stuff of our history. Great teaching for young kids
Nguyen Dinh
Great walking and jogging park for individuals and families. Children and pets friendly. Plenty of shades and trees. Beautiful memorial sites. There is also a huge food court that sells variety of choices. Parking is free and there's always plenty of spots.
Jennifer Taylor
Lovely park. Very open area with many state historical facts engraved on walls. Lots of grassy areas to relax or walk. Great fountain area to run through on hot summer days. Farmers market is right there with an indoor air conditioned building with lots of interesting food from many different countries.
Amanda Anderson
I love that it place you can bring your dog. Enjoy live music, great food, wine and beer tasting and local artist works. Farmers market w huge tomatoes, and plants. So much to offer. Just wish more of the the food stations there were up and running.
Kelley Noni
Nice place and good view
nina mcgowan
Beautiful park area! Nice place to take a stroll or full on work out! So much history information around the park just overall a nice place. A great place to enjoy a nice picnic and let kids run around
Melanie Bean
We were lucky enough to stumble upon a reenactment of a baseball game from 1864. I know it sounds strange, but it was a lot of fun to watch. The farmers market was huge and all of the vendors were really friendly. There was also an amazing ice cream place in the market building with the restaurants in it. We walked down and let the kids play in the splash pad too, they had a great time with all the other kids. If you like history the walls and sidewalks are full of information about the state, including some interesting quotes.
Vicky Egulf
We had wonderful weather...ran to the Farmers Market for Georgia peaches...no one was there...took a nice stroll over to the mall...it was clean, trees and grass were lush and green...magnolia trees getting ready to bloom...picture perfect...and we took alot of them.Spoke with Ranger Hall to help me find my daughters engraved brick...he was so kind and helpful! Hated that the fountains weren't turned on but understood why...not too many people were there..perfect social distancing but we still wore our masks..saw a few without...beautiful walk on a beautiful Nashville day taking in History at its best!😷
Mary Goulding
I stopped here for the farmer's market and had so many choices for lunch it was hard but what I did was delicious. The cost was very reasonable. The park itself has a wonderful display of Tennessee history. It is a beautiful well-maintained Park in the middle of Nashville.
Antonio David
Best place for relaxation and knowledge at the same time. Very pretty calm and not overrun by screaming kids everywhere
Trish Cantrall
Alot to see and enjoyed the history.
Logan Hester
This is a very interesting park with lots of historical appeal. I found the wall of TN events fascinating and the massive map of TN capture my attention for a considerable amount of it. It's also just a pretty area right in the heart of Nashville. I thoroughly enjoy it.
Josh Wray
Cool spot to get thee experience of Nashville and get to see the sights. It’s a great spot to get local history and get information about the capital.
Vault 17
It's nice to walk around and close to the farmers market but it needs better upkeep.
Heath Hatcher
We are lucky to have such beautiful green spaces around Nashville. This is one of my favorites
Cass H.
The park itself has many fun aspects to it...a timeline statue piece with fountains...a amphitheater with giant steps of grass..place to sit and a big fun market place indoors off to the back of the farmers market! It's great big area to chase ur kids around in the beautiful fall weather! And as always pet friendly in all the mentioned areas
M M
We enjoy this park because of it's proximity to the farmers market and the number of events that happen at the park. There are two water features, a globe and a splash pad area (never seen it on), grassy area, ampitheater, trees, and walking paths. It's a wonderful area for the kids to run after getting some fresh produce or a snack at the market. They also have bikes and scooters available for rent.
Michael Vest
Okay, lesson learned. Don't go here in the heat of the day in summer. There is shade from trees on most of the sidewalks, but this would be best in the morning or evening. Tons of historical dates and events.
Taylor Bisig
Beautiful well layer out park with lots of room to move and features to observe. It can be a little too official, but it is beautiful with tree lined walk ways.
JAY HAAS
Great place for gathering, free parking, tho not so close to event (Octoberfest). Sweeping view of surroundings. Many rehabilitated old homes, some over 150 years old. Area has seen resurgence in popularity recently, many new restaurants there. Parking at these places is tight, tho some have valet service. Great variety also. I enjoyed my visit very much.
Brandon McElyea
Very nice and well kept park. The past 2 PRIDE celebrations have been here.
Della Brakefield
This park takes picnicking to a whole new level. Large white pillars rise up in a grand circle around the paved square. As the hours pass the toll of bells rings through the air. A short walk takes you to the Memorial. There Fallen Troops are immortalized and a globe silently turns suspended in a ripple of water. Placed within walking distance of both the museum and farmers market it will make a wonderful addition to your day trip to Nashville.
Mylikia Ross Franklin
Franklin's Fruit Tea had a great time at festival!
Corey Tester
Must stop... monuments, fun for kids with water fountains, right beside farmers market. Overlooked by the State Capitol Building.
talbert jones
Really cool park to relax in
Matt Palomaki
Great spot to take out of towners and walk around. The historical timeline with major world events is cool. Stand in the middle of the 3 stars and get great a view of the capital. Stand dead center of the three stars and the echo created by the pillars is a super cool experience. When the fountains are on kids like to play in them and the granite globe is fun for kids to try and get it to rotate. Added a bonus if farmers market is open.
Lauren Russell
Love it here. There are opportunities to learn a little history and see some neat things, lots of space to run around or have a picnic, and a little splash pad during warm months! Located right behind the farmers market so very convenient
Laurie McKay
Great place for the NYE party
C “KB” B
Nice place to visit during the summer...
Alex Merkle-Raymond
my favorite place to dogwalk in nashville! very close to the farmers market to get a coffee or ice cream and walk the dog around. very clean and well maintained. definitely a worthwhile nashville site
Stuart Zieman
We spent an hour or so there. It was a great place for a photo. If it is hot, you can run through the fountains. There is a bathroom there. There is shade also. Bring a picnic and spend some family time there. We will definitely be back in the near future.
Tom Demong
Several pint sized restaurants in a row. Seats outside under umbrellas. GOOD foods--Peruvian, Cuban, etc.
Adriana Echeverri
Great place to learn a bit of history, enjoy a nice stroll, and close to other attractions like the Farmer's Market, and the TN State Museum.
Michael Price
The Tennessee State Museum was fantastic. There things to entertain the young and old.
Jerry J
great place to go for a walk and enjoy some fresh air. right next to the farmers market so you can have multiple choices for lunch. only 3 stars because this area was developed to lure tourists and locals alike with a cool place to visit, even the new minor league baseball stadium is here, then they decide to tear up the biggest parking lot. good luck trying to go here until something is done about that.
Elvis Santana
Well kept open air park with various displays. It is bookended by the Tennessee museum and State Capital. Very serene environment. Would like to see something for kids incorporated into the park and maybe some revolutionary and civil war monuments added as it is such a rich part of the areas history.
Kathy West
This park is a real treasure and unique in our state parks system. I think every one of our large Tennessee cities need to plan for an urban state park such as this one. I could tell this park is well used, well maintained, and well appreciated by downtown workers and visitors to the city. The farmer's market located adjacent to the park enhances the outdoor experience. I bought fresh turnip greens and acorn squash--locally grown--and wish I had bought a basket of apples.
Andrew Johnson
I just through Bicentennial Park every day at lunch. It is a wonderful place. I see couples walking, families having picnics, kids playing in the fountains. It's adjacent to the capital, the farmers market, and several museums and historical sites. It is the perfect place to start exploring Nashville or just relax for the afternoon.
jessica cruz (jess)
Love this place especially after they updated it
Mary Kate Eckhardt
If you want a beautiful scenic park with history and a pretty view then look no further. It is smack dab in the middle of downtown Nashvegas where people walk their dogs, workout, and have a casual stroll.
The location is ideal for checking out the farmer's market then walking over to enjoy this park since the farmer's market is literally right next to it. Think picnic from your freshly picked out goods from the market and stop by the park to have it there. It is prime for people watching.
Be cautious at night. It is pretty at night and there is someone patrolling it, but use common sense when in the area.
sexyfrog2409 (DumpsterFire)
Had alot fun here. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Momma Joy
Nice place for a walk. Family friendly and next to The Farmer's Market.
Update: Took my kids here at the end of the summer. My 16 year old daughter was excited to roller skate somewhere outdoors. No go!! Skating is not allowed. Boo!! You can on the other hand drive a crazy rented motorized scooter all over the place.
J S
Wonderful park for a sunny day with the market close
David Vaughn
Very nice place with multiple restaurants in a very beautiful setting good place to get fresh produce.
Kevin Stuart
Very cool! Must see place if you are visiting
Paul Hinkley
Impressive what they've done and still improving the place.
William “Trey” Norfleet
Wonderful place for history and great views. A wonderful walk for dogs, kids, the S/O, or even a nice stroll by yourself. Being so close to downtown, definitely worth a visit!
(Also a wondering Pokemon Go spot!)
Sean Pittillo
Lovely, serene and very interesting history. Fall definitely is on full display with lots of room to run, play or lounge around.
James Larson
Far exceeded expectations! It's flat out wonderful. It's free with much to learn, much to see and much to do. It's very pretty and certainly as educational as u can get. It's a close walk to the state Capitol and close to downtown Nashville. I'd go there again and again!
false
A Great place to bring the family. Fascinating history walk, monuments, and right across the street from the new Tennessee State Museum, and Farmer's Market restaurants! Note: Do not hang out in the park after sunset.
BanditHQ32
Beautiful park in a central urban location. Room to roam and plenty of events to spend time at
Gale Wheaton
Took my 89 year old mother, my sister and brother in law. The walk was cooled by shade trees and was so pleasant. Unfortunately my sister and brother in law had to cut their visit short to get back home to prepare for hurricane Dorian. Nice pleasant visit at the park.
S. Shoe
Free and informative. Interactive for kids, though really only for younger or special needs children. My 7 y.o. got bored pretty quick, but at least it was something free to do on a Saturday afternoon. Kids aside, this is a very nice museum with friendly staff. I enjoyed the "arts" section the best. Would like to revisit when I don't have an exasperated, sighing kid following me around. 5 stars for grown-ups, 3 stars for grumpy 7 yo's.
Mike The Mic Guy
Awesome place to relax, walk, run, check out some cool little monuments. The railroad bridge is an awesome place to hang out, and even watch the trains. You can also go check out Capitol Hill and the Farmers Market right near by. It is definitely a fun place to check out.
Tsilos Kosbab
New Years eve party! We had a wonderful time. Loved the food trucks, the televisions broadcasting the show all over the park, and the security made me feel safe. Very nice park!
Madhumati Ramesh
Many people don't realize that the bell towers actually play music every hour. It is a beautiful experience especially at sunset time. The view of the capitol building is the best from this park. The flea market and farmers market nearby is worth a visit. It also has several restaurants in there.
Chris Bloomfield
Nice memorials and a cool Tennessee timeline. Good way to learn some history.
Adam Forrester
The mall park is very nicely maintained and the long marble wall with the history of Tennessee is very interesting if not a little sad. Natives and minorities certainly got a raw deal according the my interpretation of the texts. The war memorial was also interesting although interestingly the history of the second world war does not match the history and texts taught in the UK. It's mainly correct but not quite the same in terms of timespan and how America was involved. It just goes to show how important it is to get a rounded view of history from several sources. Nice visit nonetheless.
antoinette appleton
Great experience. Grandkids loved it there. Fun and very kid friendly.
Erik Rumbaugh (systemdelete)
I love coming to Bicentennial to bike, walk, ingress, and eat. Take note, this is a great lunch spot but nearly all the food vendors close before the dinner hour. Outside wise the park is very clean and well kept, one thing to watch out for is the game day traffic since it adjoins the new baseball stadium.
Nathan Wray
Beautiful park with a nice walking trail. The bells that chime are nice and we're unexpected when visiting for the first time. There is easy access to walk to the Capitol building. All in all, it is a nice park to visit and gives a great view of the Capitol building.
Joel Anderson
Awesome park. You could easily spend hours here reading all the signs and taking in the Tennessee history. There's lost of open grass which is fun to walk around on. All in all, highly recommended.
Hikergirl Adventures
Nice place to stroll downtown and read about the history of Tennessee. Fascinating! The visitors center was closed they're only open Monday through Friday 8 or 8:30 til 4:30 but the ranger on duty still stamped my book for me.
I. F.
Great place for the New Years Eve festive event or summertime to throw frisbees, take a brisk walk or read the historical history displays.
Katar Alex
Great park with great events!
Paul Schofield
Beautiful Artwork and information on the plaques.
Thomas Britton
Beautiful park with a great view of the capitol building. You can always find great food in the food court and at the farmer's market outside, if it's running. Lots of history can be found on the surrounding sidewalk, the pillars along the food court side of the park and in a couple other spots as well. Plus they are building a Tennessee museum now as well. Large enough fields that they could accommodate plenty of people hanging out on blankets, or even a pickup game of football or frisbee.
Pablo Munoz
a very nice place to walk and enjoy
Erica Davenport
Such a great ambiance in this park. There is a lot to do for everyone of all ages. A wealth of information about the history of
Tennessee throughout the park and all the walking affords you the opportunity to get some exercise in.
Cheryl A
Bicentennial mall is very unique for the history of Tennessee. It's a beautiful Park, wonderful view of the Capitol building. But I went mainly for the Farmers Market and it is nothing like what it used to be. I was very disappointed in the offerings and inside the building International Market that I mainly go to is not there.
Keelie Reason
Really nice place to stop is you're on a long trip. We walked around and saw the memorials. There's also a farmers market right by that has a bathroom and pop up restaurants. Plenty of free parking
Seong Pak
Very nice park in down town Nashville, TN. WWII memorial is my favorite. Everything highlights things related to TN during the WWIi.
Destin Lovett
This park is beautiful, dotted with Greco - Roman style decorations; crumbles of columns around the edges, the bell towers (with 52 bells iirc) at the northern end of the park with fountains, to finally the memorial at the southern end with accompanied Farmer's Market.
TLDR: THE MIDDLE OF THE PARK NEEDS STUFF! lol
Gloria Londono
The New Year's eve event was phenomenal!! Very well organized,I loved the many giant screens all around the park, awesome idea!!The photo props were great as well!!
Shqipron Qunaj
This is probably one of the most beautiful memorials/projects I have ever seen. The size is absolutely stunning!
L
Beautiful outdoor space. Make sure you allocate extra time to find a parking space. The free parking fills up quickly. Visit the farmer's market area there are a lot of booths and good food also
Dustin Win
Nice little park area located in Downtown Nashville. Lots of spots with flags, waterfalls, monuments, etc for you to cool down on a hot day and take some nice pictures. 2Hr parking around the street and the meter parking is free on Sundays.
Greg Heidel
Very nice park with tons of historical information if that is your thing. However, like almost every park, greenway, etc. in Nashville, watch out for dog poop. People, if you are going to have a pet, please have the decency and consideration to pick up after your pet.
Carolyn Niemantsverdriet
A wonderful park across from a beautiful hilltop Capitol.
Jendy Jossian Angulo Quiroga
Very nice this place 🤩 …
Luiggi Carlin
They get orders correct most of the time

Thank you Marlie and Mallory. Jess and I really enjoyed the Women in Wilderness program. Looking forward to more!

I went with my cousin Lynn and her children one Sunday afternoon after Church we had a wonderful time. We walked around looking at the Canyons and stars names. Yes we have our version of a Hollywood Walk a Fame but we call ours something else.

First time going at the beginning of September. It is the best place to do a Tennessee history lesson. Monuments for fallen heroes. Chiming bells with tunes heard across the old baseball field. This place is decades of time standing still.
Joshua Waters
Once again we saw some lift and lime scooters. We rented them and took a stroll through the Bicentennial Park. You got to see the World War II Memorial. You also get to read about Nashville's progression since ad. There are time capsules. Great views of the Capitol building. And right next to the farmer's market.
Raymond Featherston
We headed over for a night out and walked through the park a little before heading up to the pedestrian bridge. The view of the city lights and the park is pretty. Just more of Nashville to see and enjoy.
Phil Weber
Fun area to walk around with cool historical facts and big trees for needed shade. also a farmers/international market with coffee food and other stuff. also walking distance to Germantown. good way to spend a few hours in this city
Erin Creger
Went here for New Years Eve. It's a pretty park with a Farmers Market next door. Great views of the Capital building. There's a stone map of Tennessee that we thought was interesting.
Derrick Bunn
They have done a great job showcasing Tennessee. I love the broken slabs of stone for the Civil War descriptions. The bell towers at the end connected to a type of piano is awesome to see. I wish I could see my wife play on it.
Tina Leigh
I love exploring this place with my kids. We always have a lot of fun getting wet and walking the mall. And the views of the capitol are wonderful. Plan a picnic and prepare to splash a lot.
Tamika BUTTERIFFIC Heard
Another favorite whilst in Nashville!! Good onfo... great tour
Aaron Gant
Great place to visit with out of town guests or for a staycation. Walk the park, see the new TN State Museum (closed Mondays) and eat at the farmers market food court. The only downside is the crowds on occasion.
Rajeev Sharma
Went there on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and enjoyed our visit. The farmer market was on and when there for lunch. Great choice of food and live music as well. Worth a visit if you are in Nashville.
John Verburg
Fine enough for a city park, I expected more from a state capital. Grounds landscaping is sparse. Careful where you park. Many spaces reserved but not well marked as such.
Brianah Summons
I love this area because of the vast amount of things you can do. There's a food mall, marketplace, spots to picnic, and lots of space to walk, jog, or ride a bike. What makes it even better is that it's right next to the city area where it's a bit more busy.
Durlov
Nice park. I think the outer circle is about a mile, so that makes it easier to track your mileage. Free yoga at the Auditorium is also great.
d cope
Ground water fountains for kids to play in and large, open, grassy areas with plenty of shade trees to enjoy outdoor walks, picnics, frisbee, and other leisure activities. The Farmers Market, TN's state capitol building, and state museum are located on the outskirts to enjoy as well.
Shane Carter
Beautiful, the music played from the bells was really neat to hear.
sarah smile (baby girl/ congetto)
It was Great for New Years but mud was everywhere all over my shoes and slidding. . They need to change things up and get us out of the mud when they have concerts or events like New year's events. Not to mention we couldn't even see the singer's but on a screen which we have been going to this event since before it was put here . its fun if you havent been . We have been 5 times and its time for a change . its good for bringing kids and also for young adults who can't get out and party on New Years . That would be a place for them to go and have a good time . They have food trucks everywhere and Beer venders for Beer drinkers just make sure you have MONEY its pricey and I mean high.
Maria Andres
Few steps away from the farmers market, where we bought our lunch & ice cream. Walk over to the park with the ice cream because these things were to big to finish, finally just toss the cone because I was just to full. The park was beautiful, I could see my boys liking this place, I jumped when the train came passing over Us, looking over to the capital, seeing it was Up hill we save that till another time, family friendly place, a spash pad for the kids & adults saw them enjoying there time, will be back with the family to Nashville & definitely be stop by here. :)
Samantha Lund
This (FREE) outdoor space is beautiful and located right next to Nashville's Farmers' Market, it's a logical place to visit after you have been around so many people in a small space! Lots of great history nuggets are everywhere, etched in walls, monuments, and bricks.
Free parking areas are conveniently located in many places. There is even water jets/fountains near the flagpoles that many families with young children visit on hot days.
John Foreman
A must see if you are in town and the weather is good. Adjacent to the farmer's market makes it a good two for one stop. The map of Tennessee on the south end adjacent to the train trestle is a fun way to put everything in perspective. The historical markers on the west side of the park give a good history of Tennessee.
Ric Rini
Definitely worth walking by if you are in the area. It's an urban park located close to the capital.
Allows for an educational experience via many kiosks located throughout the mall area. There is no actual "attraction" in the mall it makes for a nice walk and informational learning about the history of Tennessee.
Bonnie Heller
Very clean, large park that celebrates 200 years of Tennessee statehood. Many sidewalks for walking, jogging, or strolling with the family. North end contains 50 tower carrilon bells that play music and chime the top and bottom of the hour. Also found near the north end is a fabulous WW2 memorial. The South end contains a small sunk-in amphitheater. The entire West side is a granite wall detailing the entire history of Tennessee from before human inhabitation to present. Don't miss seeing and exploring visiting this park while in Nashville.
Miranda Harper
Amazing 😁 Brought 2020 in with Stevie Nick's and Keith Urban Happy New Year !!! …
Anna Meltzer
a great place to walk around or have a picnic. you are able to walk across a map of Tennessee and you can see the three different regions of Tennessee throughout the park. there is a spinning globe that you can move.
Beth Wise
This is such a fun place to visit. The parking near the farmer's market is easy and free and the park is beautiful. It's perfect for kids and Families
David Byers
Beautiful area, they really did a good job laying everything out.
David Northrop
I love the beauty of this place. There is a lot of history here. I can always find a little corner somewhere to get quiet and read or just walk for awhile. With the Farmers market here, during lunch it's easy to grab a bite at one of the restaurants in the building, even organic food.
Dee Hanson
The Coliseum replica is beautiful. Took lots of photos of the 4 Sufferage women statues who fought so hard for womens rights.
Steve Kujawa
Great park! Lots to see. No water in the fountains today...
George Salloum
Really interesting and informative walk through Tennessee history. We especially enjoyed the WWII memorial.
Glenn Whelan
Easily my favorite park in Nashville... The bicentennial Capitol mall had it all...
A great walking and jogging path...
Large open spaces for a picnic lunch or to watch a classic baseball game...
Informative historical monuments that take you chronologically through Tennessee history...
Beautiful views of the Tennessee Capitol up above...
A delicious Farmers market on certain days...
And an expansive ampitheater for those occasional concerts...
I love this park and find myself visiting at least one a month...
And now, you can visit the new Tennessee State museum
Ammi Embry
I love this park and the wonderful Rangers that run it. In 2016 we had the most beautiful wedding at the amphitheater. We visit often for walks and the farmers market next door.
Christopher Gibbs
This place is really beautifully done. Plenty of history to be told here. The hill by the capital would be great for sledding. Definitely go to the bells in the back around noon for when it plays songs.
David Burns
Visually stunning, extremely informational. A must-visit! I can't believe how long I lived in Nashville before I walked this park. Take the kids to play the water fountains area.
Steve Schroeder
This is a 4.5
Lots of good historical info on important local themes and a well executed effort to educate the unwashed masses. Not visionary or ground breaking so doesn't quite get 5 stars. But far from the worst way to spend an hour in this town (cough country music hall of lame), and a pleasant place to stroll.
Karin Carver
The educational part of it was also fun. There was a map of Tennessee that you could walk on and the rivers were splash fountains. These and other little tidbits would make a school trip fun
Decoda Muller
This is one of the 8 historical State Parks in Tennessee. It's in the center of Nashville, so parking isn't as fun as with our other State Parks, but it is as diverse as it is small. This park has everything from civil war reenactments to a well kept garden of Tennessee native plants. If you're uneasy about it being in the middle of Tennessee's Capitol, know that there are 5 rangers and the park manager on this tiny park. Some parks with over 3000 acres of land employ only 2 rangers alongside the park manager.
Troy Hudgins
We were at the New Years Concert with Stevie Nick's, and Kieth Urban. Stevie Nick's and Kieth Urban did a great job of singing. I would have given this place a 5 star review, but the music was too loud. I really liked how they had the LED Video Screens by the main entrance, and exit. We left the concert very soon after midnight, and Stevie Nick's cam back out on stage, minutes after we walked away from the stage area, but because the had the LCD Video screens set up by the main entrance, and Exit, we were able to watch the rest of the concert from there, even though we had left the stage area. This place had four LCD screens that were about 10 feet high, and 8 feet wide, so I really didnt feel like I missed out on the concert, but of course it would have been nice to be right by the stage area, but we couldnt get back to the stage area, because there were so many people leaving at that time.
They also had tons of police all over, and the security did a great job at making sure noone carried in any weapons.
Brian S
This is nice carillon system with ability to play songs on the bells from an organ as well. Why don't they put the Tennessee carousel that is in storage either right in the middle of it or near it if you would not want to ruin the surround sound experience of the bells. The new state museum will open right here and the carousels historical sculptures of the state of TN would fit right in and the park would be a respectful place for it unlike where it used to sit downtown amid the night life wich was a bad spot. But it would fit right in there! I live across the street from the park and they are rallying to bring back the carousel on April 8th. This is just a thought I had because they say if they bring it back they needed to find a place to put it! They are making this area more of a focal point for tourism and the carousel and bells would fit in with the theme and new museum location.
Stephenie Pyles
An educational green space in downtown Nashville. Public bathrooms and picnic tables under the train bridge. Cool off in the fountains in the summer. See the WW 2 Memorial and the Bell Carillon which plays on the hour. There is a TN history timeline and the walkway of counties.
Angela P
Beautiful walk for you and your dogs ! We went on a Sunday and walk through a very small but farmers market which was also dog friendly.
Nikki Hardin
We really enjoyed our visit! Will definitely come back
Robert Cook
Excellent place enjoy a relaxing walk, movie in the park and right next to the Farmer’s Market.
J A Jaz
This is a nice historical park. A free service to visitors where you can see and read historical markers surrounding the park. Just don't let the name fool you; there is no "mall" at this location. You will not find department stores near this park.
I recommend this park for a nice stroll.
Mohamed Rafi
Beautiful Park... close to downtown... you can say like New York Central Park...... now days lots of construction and less parking... hopefully they won't mess up the park... so nice to walk and when there is spring... LOVE IT!!!!!
Greg Lamica
Even though it was night time and couldn't see a lot of detail it's absolutely breathtakingly beautiful loved it took my time strolling through there taking it all in
Lara Victor
I dirent see the masonic simple I really wanted to see it but overall it's a great place to go walk, explore and my favorite learn something new!! Love it
Felicia Russom
Peaceful, self guided and educational. Gives the traveler a little break from Broadway and a chance to brush up that 7th grade Tennessee History. Pack a lunch and a blanket, and enjoy these cool fall days!
Julie Mak
My favorite place in a Nashville to take kids. It's outdoors and free. Plenty of space to fly a frisbee, read about TN history, find secret places to relax and sing, dance in water fountains, watch trains go by, roll down the huge hill at the base of the capital (do this last as it can be a bit itchy) and manually change the movement of an 8 or 9 ton floating marble globe.
alexandre krip
Beautiful views of Capital building, the Nashville Carillon is awesome.
The Bee Man Jay
Nice park, but the parking areas suck. Plan ahead if you are going for any kind of event.
Web Webster
Beautiful downtown park. Home to the Nashville Farmers Market (year round) and lovely paved walkways, formal plantings, fountain that draws tons of kids during the summer. Adjacent to baseball stadium where Nashville Sounds play.
Katie DeWitte
A beautiful park with an extraordinary historical presence. Plenty of places to hang out and walk around. If you're in Nashville, check it out.
Linda Clark
This is more of a question: I am going to bring a friend from out of town to the NYE Free Concert that Jack Daniels is putting on and wonder will there be any handicapped parking? I am in a wheelchair. I'd sure appreciate a response to this so I know whether to come early or will there be parking available later on. Any help I will be grateful for. Thanks.
Clark Killingsworth
Nice place for a stroll. Learn some Tennessee history. Enjoy the farmers market where you can eat at the food court or food trucks.
lora harmon
Cannot express enough what a great time I had with the Jack Daniel's New Year's Eve bash new location at this park. It rained all night long but I had a blast. Keith Urban, a thousand horses, Styx, and even Nicole Kidman blessed us with her presence
Blake Blackburn
I always enjoy a trip to the park. My girlfriend and I love goofing off a this park. Everyone is always sure friendly and it's always full of activities to watch or join in. It's quite a beautiful park too!
Jeff Schwager
The park built in 1996 celebrated the 200 years of the history of Tennessee. A long granite wall has a chronological lost of events inscribed. Very nice.
Vern Gray
Beautiful park for a walk or run.
Amber Jean Hyde
We every bit of the history and fun that Music City has to offer. Being there for Keith Urban's NYE show was an absolute blast! If you haven't been, you have to go!
Laura Weston
This is one of my favorite places in Nashville. Lots of good history and the farmers market close by for shopping and food. Some of my favorite views of Capitol Hill are here.
Jill Kilgore
Love learning the history and walking around Bicentennial Mall. A perfect date day to explore the Tennessee State Museum, pick up fresh produce & local art from the Nashville Farmers Market. There are even outdoor movie screenings, festivals and concerts.
Marie Delmonico
Beautiful historical place to enjoy with family. Go early to get free 2 hr parking. Water fountains to play in, lot of walking/running paths.
Kassandra Goettl
Lovely park but smells like dog pee everywhere
Wynn
Very nice park. A good walk, enjoy at your own pace. Walk up the hill to the Capitol building if you want to put in the extra effort.
Harry Rogue
State History, Atmosphere, and just overall get away for the City Traveler. Definitely somewhere to go. Not to mention it's right next to Nashville Farmers Market... Win Win.
Andrew Edman
I Love the floating earth, on 3mm of water and spinning few tons of weight.. A complete replica, of our earth was carved and made from one solid square marble block. Also it is engraved with the continents, and the engraving was painted with some gold paint
Frank Egulf
History, water and the farmer's market next door. What else can you ask for on a fine fall day. Right in the heart of the German town community. Plenty to see in short walking distance.
Jamie Morgan
Well kept. They do lie about why the native Americans left (on the mural by the rivers wall) they did not leave, they were forced out and slaughtered.
TinaMarie Mettin
Beautiful park. We watched Goonies. Amazing sized screen and good volume for all. Food trucks! Even awesome potty pots!
Scotty Tucker
Beautiful place to just walk around. I loved the large granite map of Tennessee. There are a lot of restaurants in the area to grab a bite to eat.
Robert Garrard
Beautiful park with several open fields. Sidewalk has plaques of each county of Tennessee in it. The bells at the circle are cool to listen to when they play a song
Steven Talbott
I live adjacent to Bicentennial Mall and visit the park every single day. I typically walk up and down the various paths until I reach approximately 3 miles.
I love visiting the bicentennial Mall and find it a great place to walk, jog or take a leisurely stroll. You will find lots of tourists visiting the bicentennial Mall as well as tour buses that's stop as part of their tour.
The bicentennial mall is located in between the Nashville Sounds baseball stadium and the Farmers Market.
Raphael Covington
I'm changing my rating from a 5 to a 3. Bicentennial is a great place to walk, see some sites, meet people, and have a pretty good time. But...if you're going to be there for an extended amount of time I would suggest that you use the bathroom before you leave the house get #2 out of the way and at least strap a bottle to your leg for #1. The bathrooms at Bicentennial are ABSOLUTELY HORRID! you would think that an area so pretty would have at the very least a decent restroom, but that's certainly not the case. I've had some bad experiences in those bathrooms but you really can't blame the park because it's the people in the park that are vile, disguising, and atrocious. If it weren't for that if certainly give bicentennial 5 starts unfortunately, gross people force me to give it a 3.
David Gordon
Beautiful park that is almost a history museum. There is a timeline of the history of Tennessee as you walk from downtown to the state history museum. Enjoyed lunch at the farmers market.
Haven Nichole
This is an amazing parks with lots of places to enjoy also it's a good place to take photos or make a video for your YouTube channel or any other creative ideas this place is very kid friendly and has lots of things for the kids to do there is a water park that's extremely fun and the children will really enjoy also there is a Farmers Market located very near the area and Amy's down to enjoy I find this part to be pleasant and very convenient
Brady Dale Morris
The Tennessee State Capitol Building as well as the Nashville skyline serve as the backdrop of Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. The long, green, spacious Mall is perfect for enjoying a picnic, playing frisbee or catch with friends, or taking a nap under the sun even. The Mall is book ended by a water feature representing the State's waterways and perfect for the kids to play in during the summer and a 95-Bell Carillon chiming every 15 minutes with extended play on the hour. This park is one of the top 10 attractions one should take in while visiting the beautiful city of Nashville. As an added bonus, the Nashville Farmer's Market runs along one side of the park where one can grab a quick meal from the unique International food court (it's always a hard decision choosing which country to grab a meal from.)
Hilary Hiler
Omg the best place to be for NYE especially when it's 68° GREAT way to bring in 2019. Park is pretty big, we did not feel crowded at all. Peter Frampton and Keith Urban were amazing. Thank you 😍 …
Justin Miller
Excellent history and monuments must check it out. I'd advise every American to go and read and study. It'll make you think
Jennifer Robinson
Have motorcycle police helping at end of new year event so we can leave orderly and safer.
Michael B. Isbell (ZADAN // ZAY-den)
The best spot for playing Pokémon GO, you go in circles and spin the stops either slowly driving or on the boosted board or an electric scooter. It's right in the heart of downtown Nashville, and is a great place to park while exploring the city
vanessa Huff
So much fun! The food trucks were great!
Page Graham
Beautiful park. Great place to walk.
Andy Semler
Worth making a point to walk through the park as part of your vacation to Nashville. There is a lot to read and learn about the science and history of the region. It is also as lovely as the photographs suggest.
