We had a corporate team building event yesterday and had a remarkable time! All of our team members enjoyed the experience. I never realised that there were so many axe throwing places in Nashville until I started looking! But BATL was the first to respond, very promptly, and was extremely responsive with all of my questions. The staff was amazing and patient. Jared/JarBear and Gaines were our coaches and they did a fantastic job coaching us and keeping us engaged. Thank you everyone for a wonderful time. Highly recommend.

We went with a group of 22 and had an absolute blast!! The coaches were very helpful and made it SO much fun! One of the best things I've ever done!! If you are hesitant, don't be. This is something fun for all skill levels!!

A fun activity at a great venue! The whole staff is friendly and helpful. Everyone in my group managed to get the hang of it by the end of our session. Jared, Matt, Jason, and Gaines are all awesome coaches. If you like it, join their league!! It's a wonderful group of people. :)

Awesome experience! Both of our first times axe throwing and we were given great safety instructions as well as little pointers and helpful hints along the way too! The boards were pretty chopped up, so some throws didn't stick, but it was such a fun experience with an awesome atmosphere. Good music and what looked like a great selection at the bar for both drinkers and non drinkers! Wish we lived here so we could enjoy this great environment more. If we visit in the future, we'll definitely be back!

Had such a great time with our family tonight. Jason and Matt were so helpful and helped us safely have a great time. They were happy to help if we had any questions and help with our throwing skills. They have different games you can play such as tic tac toe or blackjack with the axe throwing. Just overall a wonderful experience to have after the stressful holidays.

Michelle and Jared made my first time a fantastic experience even though it turns out? I kinda suck at it. Still going back. (BTW, if you wear a sweater bc it’s cold outside, underdress a tshirt because you might get a bit hot throwing axes. It’s just the rage and stress leaving your body.)

Batl Axe can seem very difficult if you've never done this sort of thing before, but the whole experience was outstanding and not as hard as it looks. Jason and Jared were terrific, they basically helped my friends and I become naturals. Our friend JB was shaky when the night started but by the end he was lights out.

So much fun! Went for a bachelor party. Great for a party or fun event. First time ever throwing. Jared gave great lessons and pointers to improve my skills. So much fun when the "BFA" came out on tie breaker rounds. Jared even showed us how to throw underhanded and other shots.

We visited on 12/1 for my dad’s birthday. I’ve been to three axe throwing places and this one was by far the best! The building was clean, it was so much fun, but what stood out the most was the customer service. Jason and Jonathan’s customer service was unbelievably awesome. Those two men know how to host guests. From the moment we walked in the door they took such great care of me and my parents. They were extremely knowledgeable, encouraging, kind, and hospitable. I cannot recommend this place enough! We will definitely be back.

Came here to kick off the weekend celebrating my 21st! We had a group of 8 and were able to do the party pack; it was awesome! Book ahead of time to make sure you’re able to throw and the time you want. Michelle was was the best ever! She helped check in the group and got everyone set up with drinks. She did a nice quick coaching session and then we were able to play. Her and her team were so friendly and fun! We got a bottle of Prosecco and she used an axe to sabor the top!!!! Later she came back with the cork and sanded it down so I could keep it! The guys at the bar were more than willing to give us advice. After we finished throwing we were asking for recommendations about where to go downtown for a good time and their suggestions were perfect; we had a great night!!! If you’re trying to figure out where to axe throw, this is the place! Thanks Michelle and everyone else for all the fun!

A great time was had by all. We were a group of beginners and they taught us individually step by step and were very patient and supportive with us. They even had alternate techniques to use for those in our party that had difficulties due to shoulder and back issues. Everyone was sticking at least some of their axe throws by the end of our session. Lots of fun.

Visited BATL yesterday afternoon and the experience was SO much fun!! Michael greeted and checked us in and we had Bri as our instructor, and she was great! I wanted a little snack so I got fries and they were so good and those bourbon oatmeal raisin cookies OMG....GET THEM!!!! They were LITERALLY the nest oatmeal raisin cookies I've ever had that I bought the rest that were out when I left lol. All in all you won't be disappointed with your experience at batl. Can’t recommend this place enough! I came here tonight with my little brother and we had a blast. It’s a little different than throwing a hatchet at trees in your backyard. In the best way possible lol. Jonathan did a great job at showing us the ropes without being overbearing but definitely made sure we understood the fundamentals to make it a more enjoyable experience. Everything is nice and spaced out for those who are concerned with social distancing. And they have a great selection of locally sourced adult beverages to distract you from how bad you might be at throwing an axe at a wall. All in all it was a great time and I can’t wait to return.

This was the best experience! This was our first time ever doing axe throwing, and Jared and Marie were so encouraging and helpful!! BATL has incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff! Many of us were first timers and appreciated the specific coaching given in addition to the general practice throws. The staff were able to watch how we threw and help us tweak small things (such as foot placement, follow through, etc.) to help us get the perfect throw. We had a blast! You have the option to play tournament style, but we chose to just take turns after each round of five throws. Afterwards, we met the owner and loved hearing how he started in the axe throwing business four years ago. Jonathan not only has a passion for this business but also for his staff and the service they provide. We cannot wait to go back to BATL and look forward to many more nights throwing axes with friends!

Went here over the weekend with a few friends. The place was really cool and the staff was very friendly. The only down side was the fact that despite us getting there early to fill out the waivers, we felt our hour of axe throwing was down graded to about 30-35 minutes after all the instructions and one of the workers interrupting us at the end before our time was up to check out. We really did enjoy our time there, it was just a bummer at the end when we all felt like we weren't there for very long.

Pricey, but a lot of fun. The coaches are super helpful, which I thought was a weird thing to need in this situation, but Jer-Bear helped me correct a hard to notice issue with my throw after watching me just one time. An axe throwing expert :p The kitchen is solid, drinks are casual and good. The fries came in a wax bag which made them soggy, so it would be nice if they changed that. It might've been because they were closing the kitchen and so delivered it packaged instead of the usual way. All in all, just a lot of fun and really nice people. Consider bringing earplugs though, I was surprised at how loud this can get!

Brought my dad here for Father's Day, first time for both of us. Had a blast! We just came to the open session, so we shared the lanes with other people. It was fun and everyone was in a good mood. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Had a small bar, so we grabbed a beer, hung out and took our turns. Would definitely recommend this as a fun activity for almost anyone.

Staff was great through the entire experience from booking to checkout. We had a bachelor party of 10 come through. From the moment I called to book the event it was easy and they didn't make me regret a single cent I spent there. The staff is great and really knows how to make sure you're all having a good time. I came here with my friend Lyndsey and we had the best time ever! We thought it would be great to try a new activity and this is just what we needed. Jen was our coach and she was so relatable and gave us great tips and made our competition so much fun. Not only did she teach us the basics but she also showed us some trick throws. We will definitely come back. Here's a quick tip: Make sure you bring cash to tip your coach. If you don't, you can buy a water and add your tip there, however, it will go to into the community tip jar.

My friends and I had a GREAT experience here 11/2/19. The entire staff was very helpful in getting each of us checked in and set up. Corey, “Lieutenant Dan”, was an EXCEPTIONAL coach! He was helpful, entertaining, and hospitable. His pointers were spot-on and he always ensured our safety. Would definitely suggest this as a MUST-DO activity while in Nashville!

This is a pretty cool place and definitely worth a stop. You'll want to set up a reservation and you and your friends will get a split lane to play. Each side of the lane has a target, and you'll get a coach/referee for each game. The coach is an employee and he/she will teach beginners and experts alike various tips in order to play their best. The coach will also keep score for everyone and will run a tournament for all your friends. The tournament was blast, and the staff were all super friendly. This place also serves drinks at the bar with standard prices. All in all, this place was definitely worth checking out, but it ran expensive. We had a group of 4 people for 1hr, and each of us paid $40 (not counting beers). An upside is that this place is also close to several other bars on Gallatin, and you're just a short walk away from the Cobra for a nice afterparty.

If you forget shoes or need a charger, they have you covered! Their back patio is my favorite area because of the lounge section. And, here's a plus for the ladies, their bathrooms are always clean and smell nice!

I'm sure the experience would have been enjoyable even with a mediocre trainer, but we were lucky enough to be paired with Michelle. Fun experience, great staff, it seems like as the night goes on the targets get harder and harder to use, so I imagine earlier slots are a little easier to stick the axe in than the later slots. A lot of fun overall.

Came in this past weekend with a bachelor party of 12 people. The staff on the phone and in-person at BATL were very helpful and accommodating. We were not expecting the guided and coached competitive experience that we got, and it truly made our day an enjoyable one that we will not forget. Thank you to everyone at BATL. Was there for a team building event for work. Great staff and excellent selection of beer. We had a lot of fun! I will note that I did this at a different place before and enjoyed it more than here. The main reason being it was EXTREMELY structured - we only got to throw a couple times for a tournament and then had to stand around waiting for others to finish. The other place let us have time to just throw for fun when no one else wanted to go. I was disappointed that there wasn't more time to just have fun and have a little less structure!

Made a reservation here for my friend's 10-man bachelor party on a bit of a whim, and we were absolutely blown away. None of us really knew what to expect, and I can say with certainty this is the most fun we had during our 4-day Nashville outing. Corey (sp?) was our coach and he was downright fantastic. Friendly, helpful, and fit right in with our crew, joking around and smack talking right along with us while also providing really helpful feedback on how to improve our technique. Between lane rental and beer tabs it basically worked out to be about $60/person for a little over 2 hours. Cannot recommend this place enough--DO IT!

Surprisingly did really well once we got the hang of it, but it takes a lot more arm strength than we anticipated. Tons of large groups there at the same time. It can get really noisy so I really recommend doing this when you're not hungover. (lots of whooing, chanting, ya know bachelor/ette party things) The way they do it is really fun as well tournament play, but with a large group this can get quite lengthy so I would recommend smaller group, Maybe 6-8 people tops. Our Axe Throwing Guide Marie was awesome, she definitely made the experience great for everyone. Poor girl barely had a voice and was such a trooper. Like i said it was very loud so she had to shout over everyone. Overall recommend, but also recommend smaller groups and not to go hungover.

Only for those of a highly competitive constitution. I'm baffled by the concept of boozing while chucking sharp weapons across the room. I want to go back to really learn and give due respect to the sport. It's a cool set up with an almost swanky bowling alley feel. The bar has nice, modest options. Prices are steep best to bring your own food and drink if you like to hang on to money.

We had a great time here, but the only issue I have is that we had experience with ax throwing and knew what we were forced to waste 15 minutes of our paid hour for throwing lessons that we didn’t need. I feel like we were over charged so I’m not sure we will use this location again. I shouldn’t have to pay for 15 minutes of lessons that I don’t need. Outside of that we had a great time.

Felt like an awesome lumberjack! Decided on this place for a first date activity and I couldn't have been impressed by this place. The atmosphere, staff, beer selection all exceeded my high expectations. I reserved a private lane. There is something so satisfying when you sink your axe into the wood for a bullseye! There was a league match going on in the lane next to ours, and it instantly made me want to create a team and join the league. You know it's a great time when you see a staff member/league member playing in the lane next to you in a giant onesie. Hah. I highly recommend asking for Cory as your coach. Great personality, funny as hell, and gave excellent instructions. I was hitting bullseyes in no time after a few practice throws. He had my date and I laughing literally the entire hour. You'll know you have the right guy if you see a prosthetic leg. He also likes to refer to himself as Lt. Dan. Slap axes not a***s!

Where to begin. First off, where else can you just learn to throw an axe and do it for fun, over and over again? If that isn't enough to get you to try it, then heading down there to meet Eli and have him teach you how to throw it, you will be treated to a great personalized experience and a fun time. I literally do not know what made my abs hurt, the violent throwing of the axe or laughing at/with Eli teaching us how to do it. The price seems "steep," but again, where else are you going to go to throw axes for fun? I will certainly be looking forward to doing this again, and thank you Eli for making the day awesome. Matt is amazing. We were a group of 5 and Matt helped us with learning how to throw properly and giving pointers whole way. Place is very clean and great atmosphere. Highly recommended if you are in the area looking for something to do for an hour or two.
