Reviews of Sibley State Park
Awesome park that has it all. Great campgrounds, swim beach, day use area. Good trails with hiking/biking and horseback riding. Well paved roads that lead to good views and vistas. Place has an interpretive center and an easy hike to Mount Tom. Also, maybe the best modern group camp in the state.
Great place to camp. Campsites are pretty heavily wooded and private in Oak Ridge. Plenty of hiking trails one of our favorite being the hike to Mount Tom. Great views from Mount Tom especially with fall colors. There is a lake with a beach and a nice boat ramp and dock. Plenty of fish in the lake too. The park sells ice and firewood and there are two gas stations within a couple miles for necessities.
One of the better state parks to camp at. Lots of hiking trails. I would recommend the oak ridge campground lots more room and your not too close to the neighbors. The restrooms are clean and within walking distance.
Came here to fish from the pier, way too shallow. Campsites are on top of each other. The grounds are very nice and clean. Very family friendly. This is a beautiful state park!
A gorgeous park! Be careful about which campsite you book in the Lakeview Campground. Some of them are on a hillside and dangerously unlevel. Also, there was no hot water in the shower house at the time we were visiting. The kids enjoyed the swimming beach, learning about Mt. Tim, and hiking the trails.
Site 126e. In OakRidge campground. The sites in the oakridge campground are much more secluded and private. There is much more wilderness between sites. We even saw a deer from a site. The camp hosts made sure to stop by and introduce them selves.
It is a long winding road to get into the site area so be prepared on the way in (or out depending on where your site is in the loop.)
Bike trail was very nice. Lake view campground was much closer to the beach, but much, much more crowded. The dump station was also in the second campground area.
The second pictures are along the bike trail.
Great park!
We enjoyed this park. We stayed in the Oakridge campground vs the Lakeview. It is farther away from the lake but definitely less crowded so a preference for us. This is a large park so you do accept the fact that you may prefer to drive to some of the various features. This is an outstanding park for biking and they have a new gorgeous trail not even on the map yet. We also loved Mt. Tom. What is also nice is that it is so accessible with a short hike from a parking lot that little ones, older folks and the out of shape can enjoy the views too.
It was our second time camping at Sibley State Park for my husband and I. We stayed at Lakeview last summer and Oak Ridge last week. Oak ridge campsites are more spaced out and private. We kayaked both times and enjoyed the new paved bike path, very good 👍 …
We walked 10K. Great views. Enough parking. Paved and unpaved paths. Beautiful.
Overall a great park. The park is showing its age, but there are ongoing projects to make improvements. The hiking is great, it has a great mix of scenery and difficultly. The campgrounds are nice, Lakeview is about 3/4 electric with more but smaller sites, Oak Ridge is more spread out with a non-electric loop and an electric loop with larger sites. There is only one sewer dump/water fill and it is in the Lakeview campground, getting to it can be tricky for larger trailers as there are a few tight turns with trees on both sides. Camper cabin are available, but I didn't use them.
Sibley state Park is a 115 miles from Minneapolis. Offers lot's of trails and lakes.
A good place to learn about geology
Fun place to go hiking. Lots of trails and adding a new bike path that will be a lot of fun to use. Awesome swimming beach and a fun, bustling campground!
Great campground hosts, loved to stop by and chit chat. We had a nice site, even though we had a day of rain, all was good. The hiking club trail was a bit rough. It wasn't really gravel, but more like boulders walking over in most areas. Even with my great hiking boots, I did have callous issues after this trail. Lovely nonetheless. Beware of raccoons! They are quite numerous in this area even on clean camps.
Was a great place to relax and meet some great people. Not too busy and nice and clean.
Great park. Paths are clearly marked. The view is breathtaking.
Beautiful!! The campsites at the Lakeview campground are close together and open but it was lovely to be able to walk to the lake and use the facilities there and go fishing. We did the hiking club trail which was a nice hike. We also loved the building at Lakeview for the kids to bring games in and play. We would definitely camp here again!
We enjoy our time here whether it's for a day trip to rent snow shoes or go canoeing or a weekend camping trip. Highly recommend a weekend away camping here, even if you're local! A great way to rest and relax.
One of the best state parks we've been to. The Oakridge campground is nice and secluded between each campsite. There is also a new paved bike trail that was wonderful to ride on.
Great beach, very clean. Watch out for zebra mussels - I killed about 100, wash your boats!!!
Nice beach and trails around the park. Especially if you like trail running and want a little elevation this park is great and has nice loops.
This was a great park, and the cabins were very nice and the hiking paths were nicely groomed. Spent a lot of time in Andrew's Lake as it was 95 and HUMID!!! Couldn't get the kids to walk on a couple of the paths because the bugs were so bad this time of year. Tom's mountain trail was particularly amazing. All said, we had lots of fun and would recommend this park for families and lone hikers alike.
The camper cabin was away from the main campground and very serene. We saw so many deer with fawn! We inadvertently hiked to Mt Tom, the trails weren't labeled very well and ended up going 4 miles with three small children instead of 1 mile. It was a very challenging hike, but worth it with the views from the observation deck. The swimming area was very nice and quiet, even on a 90+ degree day! Campground ran out of certified wood on Saturday but we were able to drive out about a mile to get DNR approved firewood for a decent price.
Great park for hiking over the hills. Good mix of prairie and woodland with some great look outs . Climb Mt Tom for a spectacular view. When done at the park the town of Wilmer has plenty of options for eating and great shops to meander through.
We love be Sibley State Park or at least have. We've rented the camper cabins as a family for about the last 10 years. After the stay at home order ended we checked with the park to make sure that we would be able to come. One month before we were told we could come. TWO DAYS before our family vacation we were informed that we couldn't come. How disappointing!! We did end up working out a place to stay and spent time at the Sibley Beach. It was fine there, but be prepared for a long walk to the OUTHOUSE because the bathrooms are still closed. Disappointing!!
Lovely park with a wide variety of summer and winter trails, nice camping options, and lovely views and recreational opportunities.
I love the trails at Sibley and the views! I would like if the trails were labeled better though because sometimes the maps and arrows don't seem to line up the best. Plenty of wildlife to see as well and great for taking pictures which is what I do mostly. Hopefully next year I can do some camping there.
Very nice park! Great trails for hiking and getting some exercise. One thing to note. While some people like to disengage completely while camping, others with a need to have some connectivity won't like Sibley. We found that there was very little to no cell reception.
It is a family favorite place to gather! There's so much to do and see. The grounds are well cared for and always clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back!
Just spectacular. Everything one can possibly need for entertainment at the park. Mt. Tom makes u feel like u are on the top of the world looking down and far out. Try out the beach, the hiking trails. OMG. GET list in mother nature and feel inner peace. We will always visit.
This is a large, popular state park in the Glacial Lakes region of MN. Sibley SP is a quintessential "summer vacation" state park offering everything on the list of requirements to make it so: camping, hiking, bugs, swimming, fishing, boating, bugs, horseback riding, interpretive center, bugs, stifling summer heat, beautiful vistas, scenic drives and bugs.
The only thing they do not offer - firewood. Ok, they do, but because it is so busy more often than not they are out. Plan to make a side trip for it.
Great hiking trails and went for a run on the Path.
This is our go to state park since it is only a few minute drive from our home town of New London. Today we enjoyed snowshoeing with about 5 inches of fresh snow last night. Also, we saw many kids enjoying the sledding hill and people out on the cross country ski trails. During other times of the year we enjoy hiking, swimming, fishing and watching nature in the park. They have excellent and helpful staff always willing to answer questions and give a trail recommendation.
This is a hidden gem. Lots to see and some of the best cone-in sites. The lake is motorless but fishing is allowed. This in one of my favorite parks to come stay at. I have been coming since I have been littleish. With this being close to the iron rage in Hibbing, MN a trip to Sibley is not a on-time trip, you'll have to go back to see the rest.
Beautiful park, quiet and clean. Hiking, Mt.Tom, bike trails, swimming at the beach, fishing, kayak and canoe rentals. Mostly bring things to do at your campsite. Not much to do in the area accept the park. Oakridge campground was more private than the lakeview campground by the lake. But if you are there with boats and water fun that campground will be beneficial for you. No grocery store in the area so pack accordingly for food.
Nice state park with beach and beautiful views. Campground is also very good. We stayed in camper cabin.
Great family vacation spot. Hits all the marks: camping, hiking, swimming, fishing, biking, clean facilities... what more could you want?
Gorgeous state park with a nice clean beach area, albeit small. The hiking trails are pleasant and the interpretive center offers a lot of information.
Great for snow shoeing, but the trails are not well marked for it.
Mosquitoes were slightly worse here than Monson Lake, but the park amenities and features were way better. Lots of nice rolling hills, the hiking trails are definitely better than the horse trails, with ponds, Lake Andrew, and Mount Tom. Mount Tom was actually incredible, you could see in more than 20 miles in any direction, totally should be on everyone's list when they visit the park.
The park is nice, lots of hiking. Biggest downfall is it seems to be the local towns place to go to the beach, so the beach is full and no place to sit. Right now as I type there must be at least 100 people here. Definitely not your normal idea of a peaceful weekend at a state park. Only one bathroom in the campground on the hill and only 2 showers for everyone seems to not be enough either, send they are always full or being cleaned. But very nice ladies in the shop and lots of deer! Saw a few loons last night too!
Nice hiking trails and cool stone buildings built many years ago by the VCC. Campsites are nice to, however the campsites at oakridge are nicer as they are further apart and more wooded and private.
Great park. Quiet yet very active. Great beach and hiking trails.
Good hiking trails and some nice views. Great to get out late in the season to enjoy a mostly empty park!
Loved the hiking trails here, very well marked which is great for those directionally challenged like myself! Great park, lots to do!
My girlfriend and I visited this beautiful State Park today 10/17/2020. We enjoyed our visit here, as well as our dog. This is both of are favorite picture.
Fall colors were great. Glad we were at the non-electric sites. There were some people at the electric that were quite loud.
Beautiful park! I went kayaking here, with a group of friends. Most of us where first timers. We absolutely love it! I think it's a great place to learn how to kayak and build confidence to go to bigger lakes. The park has a nice beach and many trails. I didn't get a chance to explore them all but I will definitely be going back.
I grew up very close to Sibley, and it's always great to return. The hiking and biking trails are great, Mount Tom is always beautiful, and a good time was had by all.
Good park, though the main attraction is the lake and a few trails.
Beautiful state park. Did the Hiking Club/Mt. Tom loop. Rustic trails through lots of great forests. Some good hills & rocky spots but plenty of level spots to even it out. Beautiful outlooks & lots of benches along the trail. If you don't want to hike the loop you can drive to the Mt. Tom parking area & than it's a short walk to the observation tower. Clean beach and picnic area. Upper Picnic Area was empty and me and my hammock had it all to ourselves. Lots of great birds and even seen a deer.
We met friends there and had so much fun. Beautiful campground and well taken care of. The staff was very nice and the lady, hostess(I believe her name was Bernie) was really helpful. The lake was so pretty and swimming area was great. The little store was fun. Will definitely go there again
We are just checking it out for a future camping, biking, hiking place.. really pretty..
Wonderful place to stay with the kids. We had a camp site at Lakeview and it was clean and comfortable. Easy to setup the camper and do some cooking over the fire.
Fishing is in easy range and the hiking is wonderful. Going to Mt. Tom is worthy it.
Recommend.
Beautiful! Camper cabin felt private. Deer, rabbits, raccoons- it was very peaceful and relaxing!
Beautiful and well kept campground.
Great park to visit for hiking, swimming, fishing and camping. Enjoyed swimming this evening and the water was perfect.
I love this state park. Awesome sites in the oak ridge campground. We were in site 122.
Quiet place even with a lot of campers. No bugs compared to some other experienced this year. This place was perfect for bugs. Lots to do in the area as well.
We had booked online through the reservation system. Once we arrived we checked out the site we had reserved and decided to change to the other campground. Had no trouble doing that. Even though things in Minnesota have opened up (late May 2021) the office is not open. Staff did drive around quite a bit. We saw the bathrooms being cleaned regularly but we have a trailer so I did not need them. The sites were not mown, and the second day of our stay, Tuesday, they begin mowing and came and mowed right around our camper and pickup. Fortunately we did not get hit with rocks or anything but there was a lot of dust blowing around so I found that annoying. We have noticed both days of our state that someone is sitting in one of the park ranger vehicles wearing a headset behind the office. Saw them every time we went by yesterday and today. Not sure what that is all about. Overall this park is fine but it is not as nice as some of the others we’ve stayed in. However the lake is nice, the beach looks great, and the trails are all right. There’s a bit of construction going on and we could not bike the paved trail through the park as it was being worked on as well. We asked the staff about it and about how to find a connection with the glacial Lakes Trail and they weren’t as helpful as I would’ve hoped.
This was a great low stress place to stay with friendly campers. Right on the lake.
Nice place to go “camping” they have electric spaces. There is a shower and the drinking water looked safe. Long trails that you can take hikes on. The trash badly needed to collected it was over flowing. Best to make reservations online since the park office was closed. Starting on Thursday night till Sunday morning most of the electric parking spaces will be occupied so don’t show up without a reservation and expect to find one available
Lots of trails, nice campgrounds, I will be back!
We stayed in Oak ridge campground, which had great tree coverage. Conveint bathroom and fresh water locations. The park rangers were all so nice, helpful, and accommodating. We loved our weekend here and the girl scouts will definitely recommend this park to other troops.
Beautiful! Great for a walk! Girlfriend and I went up to the Mt Tom parking lot and went for a walk down one of the trails. About 20 minutes in we realized the trail was a lot longer than we expected, so we turned around. By the time we made it back we were drenched in sweat. 10/10 would risk my life again
Beautiful state park
Beautiful park. Wish the same things were offered to campers during the week days were offered as on the weekends. No open store, fish cleaning or fishing pier.
We absolutely love Sibley state park! There's plenty of paths to hike, and paved roads to ride bikes on. Mount Tom is epic, you can see for a good 25 miles in any direction. Definitely bring a camera
Camping was so much fun. Lots of hiking trails. Some are really hard climb but worth it. Swimming area was nice and big near the camp grounds. Had a raccoon issue the first night but all was good. Showers were closed but the port a Johns were clean and didn’t smell. Park ranger walked our camp every night which was really nice and welcoming
Primitive Group Camp was wonderful, spaced out quite a bit compared to others so you really had a sense you were in the wilderness alone. But with that comes a moderately difficult hike in if your gear and supplies are bulky. Rusty water supply, clean vaults, plenty of shade, modest flys and skeeters, amazing beach, and pleasant hiking.
Good family camping....super beach/lake,biking,hiking.
Lakeview Campground is very tight together with no shrubbery between sites, so no privacy. Good swimming beach, great hike up to Mt. Tom. Bathrooms were all clean, but due to C-19 only 2 stalls in bathroom and shower were open. Park not staffed, other than cleaning staff. Some campers in tents were extremely rude and noisy until past 2 a.m.
Great place for some weekend camping with the kid
Very crowded and noisy T Lakeview campground. Nice trails.
Great state park! Has so much to offer from camping, hiking, fishing and programs. This park is well worth staying at.
If you are looking for a place to go and bike on trails or maybe even go for a hike you should give Sibley a shot. Located near Spicer MN this is a nice place to go. If your a camper maybe book a camp site. Enjoy.
What a place. Very well kept and the trails are perfect. The swimming area looked amazing. Just too late in the season to swim. Mount Tom is really cool. Can see for miles. Campsites are really separated and you feel in the like youre in the woods. Thanks for the great time
Beautiful park. One of MN gems to visit. The Mount Tom overview is a great scenic outlook to see. Bring binoculars as you can see for miles from the top.
We loved oak ridge campground. We camped during the week and after Labor Day hardly anyone there. Bathrooms were clean. Plenty of room between sites compared Lakeview
Came there and the big dock was all messed up. Couldnt fish from it. Camper sites were all full. Didn't know you could rent a site for the season. $1300. Getting harder to get a site since you can rent for a months time. Liked it the old way. No more just dropping in. Locals have more of an advantage. But, that's how the cookie is crumbling now days..
Beautiful day for hiking in the woods.
Great park and facilities but campgrounds are very open with no privacy. Missing the *info the woods" camping feel when at your campsite, but great if you like RV camping.
The beach is nice with some great fishing. The hiking Andrew biking tails are the real reason to come. There are tails for easy waking and some great natural rugged tails to hike.
Keep in mind that state park firewood is dried, so it is very ready to start, but burns very quick so you will go through more than you may think.
Beautiful hiking trails, easy to get to and find parking.
Fun time hiking the mt tom trail and awesome sights from the mt tom tower.
Beautiful place. The downfall is that there is no AC and hot water for shower.
Celebrating its 100th anniversary as a MN State Park, it is a stunning place to visit. The trails provide a step back in time, the view from the Mount Tom observatory, besides showing the grandeur of the prairie, is a science and history lesson. Picnic spots are abundant and peaceful. Small but clean beach is a nice place to cool off. Good fishing dock, too. Sibley is a hidden gem of a park!
I love coming here year round and hiking to Mount. Tom never gets old. Great for the outdoorsy families!
A wonderful state park with great views, good hikes, and a variety of areas and activities to explore.
Nice State Park. Great hiking trails, good for biking. Family friendly, the beach and picnic areas are very nice. Camping spots are a bit tight, and can seem very crowded (we were there on Labor Day Weekend) but overall it is a beautiful older park. Bath and shower facilities were older but in good shape and clean.
We love the state parks. The only complaint I have is the use of generators in non electric sites. If you chose a non electric then don't try to run a generator all night. There is a beautiful new Beach area and a great visitors center.
We love the MN State Park system. Quality campgrounds and hiking trails. Everything is well marked. The parks are always clean and we'll kept. Sibley State Park is no exception. It has been a very peaceful visit.
We love this state park for camping. Make sure you bring bug spray and put your coolers in your car at night. Other than the huge amount of mosquitoes and the gang of raccoons, this place is amazing. We have a thermacell and it works well at keeping mosquitos away. Make sure to stay on the Oakridge side if you like privacy and quiet. The Lakeside campground is packed with no privacy. People over there looked miserable... They keep the bathrooms and showers clean. They also have porta potties outside for social distancing purposes. They keep those clean too. Reserve your campsite online--it's cheaper than calling.
Beautiful gem of a state park. Trials are well maintained and facilities are good. CCC buildings throughout the park. Keep an eye out for wildlife! We walked up on a healing deer on the paved path and he wasn't scare of us at all. Almost missed him!
Campground a bit tight, bathrooms are older. Nice location close to lakes for boating.
Sibley is a very nice park. It has lots of walking and biking trails. Some trails are easy and others are more challenging. It also features Mount Tom the highest point in Western Minnesota. One can sleep in a tent, take you travel trailer or use the camper cabins. It also has a swimming beach and you can fish in Lake Andrew with a license.
Great place to camp sites are big and lots of trees in the lakeside campground. Overall clean Park and facilities. During our stay the park was going through some updates that were needed by the lake use area. Super friendly staff!
Great swimming beach. The section we stayed at was well spaced out and had great, clean facilities. Loved the night time viewing the park arranged at the top of Mt. Tom.
Great park! Plenty of trails. Great lookout from Mount Tom. The picnic area is very quiet.
Great sites but Hwy 71 is loud at night
Very nice clean park. We have called here several times and are always happy we did. There are a lot of families with kids camping here, but the type of kids that play nice and are respectful. My kids always make lots of friends here each time.
Very nice park and camping. Secluded sites in the oak ridge side. Nice beach area. Only complaint is the mosquito issue in bathrooms that all the other campgrounds we stayed at over two weeks didn't seem to have.
My favorite place to run and hike and camp
One of Minnesota's most beautiful state parks. From its lakeside campground to the hiking trails and interpretive center this park is a beautiful visit in any season. A visit to the Mount Tom observation area is with the trip.
This is a nice state park overall.good beach and fishing pier. But because of Covid 19 the state is not handling the bathroom situation well. The family bathrooms were open but one had a leaking sink hose that flooded floor higher than a flip flop. The portal potties were gross. One was filled literally up to the seat. Talk about spreading germs. The State would be better off just opening up the park bathrooms fully, it probably be way more sanitary
Good trail riding. Unfortunately, horse trails are not really important to the park management. There are 2. There could be so many more, share the snowmobile trails, hiking trails, make trails off of the existing horse trails. Garvin county park, is much smaller and has many more trails. Sibley could be improved so much and I know many horse riders have offered but.......
Beautiful park! The scenery is breathtaking!
Primitive group site was a perfect size for about 15 people. 2 firepits. Good flat and soft ground for your tents and a short walk down to the fishing pier. Some good trees for hammocks. 3 picnic tables
We camped at Sibley this weekend, and it doesn't disappoint! We've got little kiddos
and they had a blast runny through the woods and looking for bugs and other wildlife. What a great state park!
Just passing through and wanted to stretch my legs. Had a wonderful 3-mile hike.
Beautiful park with great view from the top!
Beautiful state park. Hiking trails, a lot of camp sites to chose from. Boat launch on Lake Andrew and several fishing piers make this a great spot for fishing. Not too far from the Twin Cities and a lot of local businesses within 10-20 minutes.
Took the hike up Mount Tom. Great workout and beautiful views. Could use better signage around the park. If your not familiar with area and even with their map sometimes it’s confusing getting to specific trails from the beach area.
Almost exactly a two hour drive from the Cities, Sibley State Park is off the beaten trail enough to find yourself really lost in nature. The hiking trails up and around Mt. Tom feature lots of opportunities for stunning views and fabulous selfies. The Interpretive Center has many guided hikes and easy hiking paths around the adjacent marshland. AND all of this before I even mention the boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities at the lake. This park rocks.
Beautiful scenery and lots of possibilities for activities.
Nice trails and amenities. Restrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. This is an older park, so today's large RVs don't necessarily park easily, nor are sites level.
Great state park, even with parts closed for repairs it was clean and well maintained. The showers are very nice, best I've seen at a state park, lots of hot water.
One of our favorite places to be! Great trails for hiking and biking. Lots of things to do for the kids. Swimming area fishing dock interpretive center and great activities planned during certain days! Love this campground!
Water only hookups but nice little beach. Tight spots.
Nice park. Not a whole lot to do in the area other than the park.
Campsites are pretty open, and it can feel a little crowded.
Very friendly staff and organized park. The beach is really one of it's best features. The water is very clear in most areas.
Stayed at oak ridge sites in a group at 82, 85, and 86. All are wooded and shaded. 82 & 85 are pretty small, 86 much larger. Bathrooms are very well kept compared to other state park bathrooms I have been to. Pave campground roads including the loop through the sites.
Fished Lake Henschien; you have to portage your canoe a ways to get onto it, but IT IS WORTH IT! In less than an hour our canoe caught three northerns and a large mouth on lures and spinners, good size fish; weedy shallow lake that must be the best kept secret around, as people only spoke about fishing lake Andrew when we asked around. This was mid afternoon, so not even the best time to fish.
We brought road bikes, if you are a serious cyclist there are plenty of good roads to ride both south and west of the park.
We had a great time, will likely be back.
We stayed at Oakridge 113E with our 31' trailer. It had a nice private space towards the back with plenty of room for campfires + eating. The beach was great (but about a mile bike ride/car ride) from this campground. We also enjoyed Mt. Thom and hiking and used the sports field for kickball. Spicer and New Londen are close for rainy day bowling and shopping.
Beautiful state park! Some paved trails for biking and a nice swimming beach. The park is always clean as well.
Great place to camp. Beautiful trees. Well kept camping sites and good bathhouse. Even with a bunch of rain in August this year not bad for bugs.
Beautiful year around
Very nice park. Some sites are a liitle tight for longer rigs, so choose your spot wisely. Nice hiking trails. The view from Mt Tom is very cool.
The park offers very small and tight together campsites so be prepared for that if you tent camping. Other than that it's a fun park with a hiking club trail. Just beware of Timber lake Road.
Was not directly.in the park. But wow the three huge bucks roaming around the edge of the park we're beautiful. Great place to go to meld yourself with nature. I have been to this state park many if time and have enjoyed it over the years
There's a lot of trails the bathroom are good.
Always a great place to go during summer for swimming, camping, picnics, hiking, fishing off the dock, canoeing, etc.. and in the winter for cross-country skiing and I believe snowmobiling. Good place to watch those Minnesota sunsets as well while getting away from the busyness of city life.
Awesome sites at Oak Ridge that allow privacy and the feeling of being in the woods. A lot of trails to take the dogs for a walk on and the facilities are great.
Very beautiful park, lots of good trails.
We enjoyed our stay, the campground was nice and kept up plenty of hiking and biking, you can also rent kayaks and canoes. The only thing to double check before you stay is the site lengths, if you are over 30' for a trailer make sure the site you pick is big enough.
Love this Park! Staff is great, sites are spacious & somewhat secluded in Oak Ridge Campground. Beautiful hiking trails & view from Mt Tom is Awesome!
Great state park with so much history. They are right on lake Andrew and have a large hill in the middle that they call Mt. Tom. If you visit I would recommend going on the historic walks and other activities. The staff there know so much.
First time. Had a great weekend. Camping, hiking, grilling, swimming, sun, and fun. Lots of wildlife. Had to scare off raccoons both nights. Keep food locked up. Again, great weekend.
Great park. Well maintained, nice bathrooms and showers. Swimming beach with doc and boat launch is close by. Great hiking trails.
Wonderful campsites. Well spaced, private. Showers were clean and lots of hot water. The beach is very well maintained.
Nice campground with good showers and bathrooms. And very well newly renovated beach area. Lots of trails to hike, with a good view atop Mt. Tom.
We were there from Wed-Sat. morning. So peaceful, quiet till Friday night. Total chaos with huge "campers" trying to maneuver in tight spots. Loved the work they've done by the beach!
We camp every year the 3rd weekend on September. The bathrooms are clean and the are lots of paths to walk. Hosts are very friendly and helpful.
Great campground! Nice sites. Clean showers, bathroom. Great newly landscape beach area. Lots hiking and bikes trails. Highly recommend.
Sort of closes down after Labor Day but nice camping and hiking.
What a wonderful campground. Camping in April meant only a dozen campers. Had dinner in New London, a short drive & lively town.
A great place to spend time with family. Camping or just spend the day. So much to do and see. Love the park. Been going there for years. With my parents, my children and now my grandchildern too.
Our site was wonderful. Very secluded and peaceful. We can't wait to book another getaway there.
Beautiful campsites, secluded, in Oak Ridge Campground. Golden glowing oaks everywhere. Love Glacial Lakes Scenic Byways and State Trail.
So clean
Campsites are close together but otherwise terrific. Very cool VCC buildings, Mt. Tom offers a great view of the surrounding area and county!
Oakridge is definitely more peaceful as other commentors have suggested. Overall great park, tho you will hear a constant hum from the highway.
Very beautiful place, Just make sure if you go hiking you take a map and know where you are heading or your nice leisurely 2 mile hike may turn into a 6 mile holy crap we are lost hike. LOL
Great place to camp, swim, fish, and lots of fantastic hiking. Always crowed, make sure you have a reservation. Beautiful in the fall.
Great campground. If you want more privacy stay in a camper cabin or the Oakridge campground. Nice beach, lots of trails.
Love this place. Nice camp sites.
The oakridge campground spots are pretty spacious, some are heavily shaded and some have almost zero shade. The campground by the lake is very open and the spots seem much smaller.
Rode our bikes around and checked out campsites. Saw several that we thought would work for us. Sites clean and some very private. Very peaceful.
Nice place, the camp sites are a little close together, but was still quite and peaceful. Just a short walk to the lake.
One of our favorite parks. We like to stay in the no electric sites. They are more secluded In the woods. Except when people run there generators.
Quiet place surrounded by lakes and a beautiful little town that knows what you need..Better than you know what you want, just ask them. they will tell you where to go. ( not sarcasm)
Restrooms cold be better maintained. Lots of children. Camp sites in Lakeview are right on top of each other
It was my first time there I loved the camp sites they have electricity and are big
Quiet, beautiful, lots of hiking and bike and horse trails. Beautiful beach. Great area. Just a couple hours from the Twin Cities.
Mt. Tom hike is great hike. After hike, take a dip in Lake Andrew beach. Park has very nice picnic area and very good camp sites.
Facilities well maintained. Wishing the Lakeview campground sites had a bit more privacy and weren't so stacked.
Nice park. Decent camping. Everything you would expect in a state park.
It's always been a great park to visit. You can camp, fish, swim, picnic and hike. Been visiting there since 1986.
It's a beautiful place to go on a nature walk or to go camping.
Great for families. Boat traffic was too close to swimming area, with no one regulating it. Plenty of fishable shoreline.
We enjoy a little more privacy when we camp so the lakeside campground was not for us.
Canoe are ver cheap and nice i oike it very kuch
Fantastic place to visit with FAMILY 💞💗💞 …
Camping here was a lot of fun. The park is beautiful and relatively close to a couple towns that you can explore well.
