We stayed from fri-sun check out. We grabbed a primitive campsite. The whole park was clean and beautiful. The bathrooms & showers well taken care of. It was a perfect weekend. The hiking trails were gorgeous. Can't wait to come back!!

Absolutely beautiful campground!!! Clean shower houses. Friendly staff! I drove about 10 minutes to the Green River welcome center and learned there, that a Civil War Hospital was on site and available to tour upon request to get the key! What am awesome experience!!! Soi included some pictures of that as well. But again. This was not at the Green River Lake State Park but at the welcome center. Be sure to check it out!

The campground is clean and very well laid out. I love the fact that they have law enforcement drive around periodically. The lake is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed our weekend and will definitely be back again!

One of the best state parks I have been to and only 20 minutes from home. When I lived in CO a pakspass was needed just to get in, here, you can just show up and enjoy the park and all that it has to offer. Great place and made some great memories with my young children today!

Such a huge beautiful place!! The only thing I dident like was people on the jet skis would drive over in the swimming area and wasent watching the children. Some times they got Scarry close. But had an awesome time! Super clean! Super fun play grounds!!

Green River Lake State Park is absolutely beautiful the view is amazing. We had a great time. Downfall was people that bring their children aren't watching the kids and during quiet hours the kids are still up making noise running around and beware the golf carts

My family has deemed GRL our favorite local chill spot! It's 90 minutes from home. The lake is very relaxing. They have areas for RV and tent camping they offer mini golf and convenient boating docks

I have been visiting Green River Lake State Park for over 30 years. That length of time dedicated to repeat visits is really all that needs to be pointed out about the greatness of Green River. Over the years, they have upgraded certain areas, including adding to activities in which you can participate, modernizing the "Modern Campground" (an area for RV's and those who would like clean running water, toilets and electrical outlets right next to them), and expanding services at the Park Store and Marina. The "Primitive Campground" is amazing as well. With an up close look at nature's beauty, the Primitive area is for the "hardcore" campers. Though bathrooms are about a quarter mile away, there is no electric, no clean water; it's just you and a gorgeous expanse of lake and sky. I hope that everyone reading my review will make a point to visit this State Park at least once in their life. With something for kids and adults alike to enjoy, I can guarantee that no one here will be bored!

The only thing that got the rating up from a 3 to a 4 star is the military discount and price. Otherwise, the spots are right on top of each other, there's no sewer hook UPS either. Normally that's not a big deal if you have a good dump site but they do not! There is no water at all at the sewer dump. If you don't know that you're screwed and stuck with solids in your tank until you can get somewhere that you can rinse your tank. Very disappointing. The views are great if you're the only one in the park like I happened to be on this trip (for the most part). I even got to see a mating pair of bald eagles here on my last morning. I'll be back - but definitely only during off peak times and I'll make sure to fill my water tank enough to rinse my black tank with.

My cousins and I have been camping here for over 20 years, and we absolutely love it, Especially for its exceptionally low price to camp making family fun affordable. There are lots of fun activities to do like swimming at the beach, basketball courts, and mini golf (which is not free). They also have public bathrooms that have showers as well. Plenty of parking, boat docks if you have a boat, hiking trails with beautiful scenery, plenty of areas for fishing, camp grounds for people that have RVs, and people who just have tents. At each campsite they have a parking space and a firepit that has a grill. There is also a little convenient store at the entrance of the campsites. On the other side of the lake there is a Marina, they have boat, pontoon, and jetski rentals and more.. would 100% recommend to anyone seeking adventure and family fun.

I always have a great time with my family. We get to meet new people an some of them we feel like we have known them for ever . The one thing tht would make better is if they had two more dump stations.

Great place to camp. Lots of trails and a mini golf course. The only problem we had was the trails could have been marked clearer. Staff was friendly and showerhouse was clean.

First riding experience on "double track" multi use trails with wife was not good. I wouldn't want to ride several of the clearly horse trails on a horse. They are a disgrace to trails. Clearly the Ihorse riders don't follow the same rules of don't ride when trails are wet. I don't recommend beginners or family's ride these trail.

The campground the spots we stayed in were extremely unlevel, the trees in fall color were beautiful we saw deer and a fox, but the kids were still running around at 1a.m.

It's a state park so make sure to bring your own wood. The beach is rocky but good fun for swimming and boating with a variety of spots to choose from. The spots can be poorly marked and it can be hard to determine where the perimeters of your campground are. The spots are small and privacy limited. Beautiful views if you choose the right spot. The site does provide photos of your spot before you book it. We did go on labor day weekend, I'm guessing it's usually less crammed. They do allow pets, have a fire pit, picnic tables (depending on the spot you choose) and an rv park.

I would give this place a higher ranking if it weren't for the people. Silly to rate such a place on that however the reason is simple. My family (7 in total) went camping at the Green River Lake State Park campground looking to enjoy a more primitive and relaxing weekend. The staff TOP notch, their general store, adorable, and the overall facilities clean and working. However the primitive tent sites were not mandated too well. We reserved a specific site, confirmed at check in, and yet when we went to unload our things, our site was taken. The late night hours were NOT respected by the campers. Golf carts blairing music and people up drinking and talking loudly at ALL hours. Their primitive camping is 100 ft from RV sites. Soooo, not very quiet. Nonethless, the river was clean, parks were up to date, and we had a great time! Would recommend on a not-so-busy weekend.

Love the park. But the kind of trash (beer cans, bottles and broken glass) people are leaving at the Point of the Lakeshore hiking trail is horrible! I love day-hiking, and only recently discovered these trails. If I'd have known the trails were so littered and the Point was so trashed I would have tried to pick up a lot myself and pack it out with me. I had no garbage bag, and my small and already filled day pack wasn't going to help. Looks like drunken "boat people" are pulling up to party and then just leaving the area ruined in their wake. Hikers are not usually committed to carrying heavy amounts of party supplies down a trail for miles just to leave an area worse than they found it. I'm sure funds for park personnel and cleaning efforts are few and far between. That said, it's just so thoughtless, arrogant and selfish the way people will mistreat the Great Outdoors. LEAVE NO TRACE, PEOPLE!

Such a beautiful location. The new viewing dock is wonderful, even wheelchair accessible and low railing (several sections) for viewing. There is a playground for the kids - the entire area is very clean and welcoming.

Really beautiful place, well kept, restrooms are nice. But as for the camp store.... They do not follow posted time on the door. It is Saturday morning, hours say 8:30. People have been trying to get items for breakfast they forgot. After 9:00 and still no sign of anyone to open. Only thing lacking to make it a great place.

Maybe it's just the Summerbaby in me, but I believe I could live here lol. It isn't just my go-to place, it's the fun zone for many others as well. The lake, campgrounds, picnic, and trails are always pretty populated, but not too crowded you can't enjoy your own space. Bring a some water shoes since the beach/wadding areas are a bit Rocky. Pace yourself along the trails as some of them can be uphill, but very tranquil. I like to pack trash bags for the times we grill (provided in picnic areas) bc after I'm full on YogiBear with my eats I take care to do my part and clean up. Channel your inner mermaid and get goin! 🧜‍♀️🧜‍♂️

I hadn't been here since I was like ten yrs of age, but what I remember from way back then was people were supposed to stay in between the yellow float pipes, but on arrival people were swimming everywhere outside of the limits, it was odd.

I tent camped there the last weekend in July and it was packed at the state park campground. It is popular with both RV/pull behinds and tent campers. That being said I can tell you my stay there was still great. The campground was well kept, facilities and beach were groomed and maintained and the staff was friendly and courteous. Even at night with a full campground the noise around us was minimal and peaceful. I was surprised. The lake was close and the view and scenery were nice. I'll go back and it's worth the $22 night we spent for our tent site. The showers were newer and clean also. Update: still clean and superbly maintained. This state facility is managed wonderfully. We just went to the beach for the day to swim. Not overly crowded for a holiday weekend and clean.

Always a great park. The camp ground is right next to the lake. The beach is very popular. Also has a nice picnic area right at the water. This park is great for a day trip or a week. There is plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and horse trails that a family can enjoy. Also very easy to see deer and there are some bald eagles around the lake.

My 3 year old Labrador I think loves the trails more than I do. He is so proud of himself when he cuts off trail to meet me on a switchback. 😎 …

It's beautiful here. It's affordable for camping. People are friendly, the park is huge and very clean. We had a very exciting day out on the boat, tubing, swimming, sight seeing, fishing and eating and enjoying watching boats go by. Can't wait to go again.

An excellent place to visit lot's of hiking, mountain biking, and horse trails as well as fresh water beaches a few Marina's historical land marks and a fun informative visitor the they also have RV camp grounds and plenty of places to fish and lot's of wildlife to see.

My daughter and I have brought our horses here a few times. We love the trails. They are well maintained. There is also a good variety of levels of diffuculty. Today we came up Devil's Canyon. Quite a challenge! The trails could be better marked and many of them are not on the map. But besides that, it is a great place to ride.

Been here every year since I was a little girl. It’s definitely a hidden gem! Love this place. This is home! Camping is so fun here. Good bathrooms. Find fossils and crystals down by the lake front. Only downside is the pontoon rental price and the marina, and they took out the metal carousel at the park. Huge bummer!

We're campers and fishermen. This is the only campground on Green River that's open until Dec. So, just spent 3 days there. Been here a long long time ago and it's pretty much the same. Campsites with pads are very close to each other and often share the same electrical boxes. Take a long ext cord! Bathrooms we're okay, clean but definitely not upgraded much. We miss the more secluded, more remote campsites like LBL, Laurel, Holmes Bend, etc. If other campgrounds we're open now, we'd have surely gone elsewhere. No reflection on the staff. FYI, tent sites are mostly hillside, so research before you select a site or you might roll into your neighbor 's camp😛

(SELLS EVERYTHING) RVS: PERFECT 30/50 AMP WATER GRILL/PICNIC TABLE DUMP STATIONS : PERFECT TENTS: PERFECT Areas are HUGE !! PARKING: THE BEST YOU'VE EVER SEEN, ESPECIALLY FOR YOUR BOATS, TRAILERS, AND TENTS/RVS PLAYGROUNDS: PERFECT The kids will LOVE them TWO BOAT RAMPS !!!! Easy Peasy !! HOW'S THE FISHING? What kind? 20-30 Blue Gil, We caught a nice Blue Catfish 25 pounder that was WONDERFUL for dinner, cooked atop the outdoor grill (provided) The DAM isn't that far by boat, IT IS SPECTACULAR !! The water near the Dam is 90 Ft Deep Entrances to the Coves are 70 Ft THE STAFF THROUGHOUT THE PARK ARE SO HELPFUL!! LOVE THEM💖

It's a great little clean park. The lake is always dirty / low visibility, compared to other lakes in the area. They do a good job with up-keep and there is zero harassment of visitors.

Very busy camp ground but considering how many campers there were it was very relaxing and peaceful. Will definitely be back. Ps bring a portable waist water caddy. The dump station on Sunday was 6 campers deep waiting to dump!

I grew up in the area and the marina has grown incredibly. The rates on the boats were competitive, they provided life preservers, and the lake was beautiful. We had some luck fishing and had a great time swimming in hidden coves! Don't forget your sunblock!

Probably one of my favorite parks with the exception of Utah and Colorado. This park has amazing water view sites. Close to town. Park hosts very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms could use a little work but functional and work well for their purpose. Very much appreciate the solitude and beauty of this park.

Nice place. Has charcoal grills and picnick shelters. The beach is also very nice. There is a fee of 8$ a person. But make sure to ask if that covers Huntington beach too. We didnt know that until we got there. We were not able to go to the other beach but we would have planed to if we had known. It was atill an amazing visit.

The campgrounds are very clean and we'll kept. Restroom facilities are cleaned on a daily basis. Nice mini golf course for the kids. Free WiFi. We will certainly consider going again.

Many of the primitive campsites are on a 20 degree incline, making them extremely difficult to use. Officials don't enforce quiet hours. RV slots are very narrow and crowded. No water available for primitive sites. People continually cruise around aimlessly in golf carts even after dark. Won't go here again.

If you're looking for a place to kick back and relax and enjoy nature or to go boating on the lake, look no further, you have found the right place. Green River Lake State Park offers a marina for boaters, and a nice clean Park for picnics and gatherings, as well as walking your dog.

Would have given 5 stars but....Beautiful lake spot but way put a fish cleaning spot in the middle where the buzzards are every morning & the fish skulls all over the place..not a pleasant thing when your trying to have breakfast outside and walk your dogs down by the water...the smell Ewwww!

Beautiful setting. We enjoyed the hiking, especially the lakeshore trail. It wasn't busy Monday to Thursday. Lots of campsites open. The beach was flooded and closed.

This is a cool place to go if you have a RV or like, and maybe also a boat, but the tent camping area is not so nice. There's very little shade in the tent section, and thus it's exposed to direct sunlight (hard in the August heat). There isn't a nearby water source, and there is no electricity, if you want that. The tent area is also further away from the bathrooms than the RV area is and is also not near the swimming area, which is otherwise a nice spot. So, great place if you have a RV, camper, etc. Not so great place if you're tent camping. Also, the firewood at the store on site is fairly expensive. At the time of this review, it was $6 for a small bundle of wood.

Took the Fox Hollow Trail. This is clearly meant for mountain biking, but is also good for a medium difficult hike. Only got 15 minutes in before having to turn around because of fast approaching dusk, but I look forward to seeing the whole trail this weekend. Promises great water views and cliff views.

Since 1992 this place has been our family’s favorite park in Kentucky. The clean clear lake, the hidden fishing spots, calm swimming waters, campgrounds, and friendly locals make it a great stop for those visiting Kentucky.

The camp ground was pretty nice but the sites seemed very close to each other. Our site did not have a park bench as the description said that it would.

We went camping for the 4th of july and had a great time. The only issue we had was the draining of the showers in the bath house. They didn't drain very good and the showers you would be standing in someone elses dirty shower water. Highly recommend taking shower shoes or pool shoes.

I have been visiting the walking trails. There are easy to very difficult trails depending on the level you choose. Be careful though, some trails could be marked better. I got lost several times but eventually made it out.

Beautiful lake area, but the campsites were mostly out in the middle of a field. It was clean and well maintained, but in the summer there would no escaping the sun.

Terribly disappointed that our water front campsite we paid for was accidentally given to someone else forcing us to stay in a much less desirable campsite. Probably won't be back. It's also small campsites and pretty crowded. Feeling bummed out.

I liked it before they expanded the campground so big that now the camp sites are way to close together no privacy anymore. Wilson Creek is now my favourite place to camp in campbellsville, quiet ,peaceful close to the lake.

Camper sites are set up great. You are set up right at the lake and it's simple to get parked. Great people that work here VERY FRIENDLY. The beach is awesome and very clean.

We came during kids fest, first Saturday in June. Fun times, all kinds of activities. The campsite was spacious and very comfortable.
