Love this place, and it offers so much more than just rec skating. Youth ice hockey, adult ice hockey (from A League down to D League, plus an instructional League as well), roller derby, figure skating, adult skate night...etc. they have Learn To Skate programs for kids and adults, and a kids Learn to Play Hockey Program.

We used to come here for homeschool skate days, we haven’t been in many years. We had a party and it was odd to say the least. The desk attendant repeatedly kept asking how many kids we had, 6/10 and our adults. The other skate attendant was trying to get the kids in and their shoes etc but the lady kept yelling at her that we couldn’t go in. By this point we had paid a 50 deposit and around 166 or so more for this party. They would not let us take our cake inside. Their disclaimer is that you get there an hour before table time but if you do that, you have nowhere to put your decor and gifts etc. i was told not to bring decor, but several other parties did. Once the kids finally got the correct skates, and found the push carts it was time for the table. We supposedly had an attendant but we saw her once for drink pitchers and that was it. The kids were able to skate a small amount. Per the website, we did not receive party invitations. We did not receive 10 ice cream cups. The kids were very upset to not have ice cream with their cake. We had no attendant to rectify the situation. We were told we needed to hurry so they could charge us our leftover bill. We had to pay for any adult who didn’t skate and were asked to leave a tip. We had to rush eating cake, and gifts. By that time there wasn’t much time to skate, and nowhere to put our items. From my times at a competing skate rink many many years ago, skate connection, skate parties were actually fun. The dj shouted you out, they did special dances, you got to ride in a big skate and had awesome attendants. I believe this rink signs on too many parties at once and staff is spread thin and they let too many people in. For as much as we were charged for the party and for skating and non skating adults I felt the amenities and property should have been in better condition but it looked like 1989 in there. You also used to be able to choose ice skating or roller skating at birthday parties here but now they make you select one for the party. Overall if this too long to read I suggest Knowing your attendants name Getting there at your table time to do food, ice cream and cake. If they deem you worthy of ice cream as we were not deemed worthy. You can then take gifts to the car and let kids skate as long as they want. The property def needs some updating. Especially the parking lot.

Pretty much exactly like I remember it 20 years ago! I'm glad it is still open and people of all ages seemed to be having a blast on the ice and roller side. The facility certainly could use some updates, but still great fun!

I haven't been here since I was a child.. We had such a great time today!! It's definitely smaller child friendly. I was worried about this before we got there and had even left my 2 and 4 year old with grandparents. There were so many little kids and my 5 year old as well as my older kids had a blast. They have little skating "walker" type things for smaller kids to use to assist. They eventually got the hang of it.. Everyone was super friendly. It was a really fun time. You buy one ticket and it's good for both ice and roller rinks. And it's not extremely expensive either (unless you have a bunch of kids like I do 🤣). But no it really wasn't that expensive for us either. Cheaper than urban air or something and I think we had way more fun here. Definitely will return.

They really should cater the music to the audience. If you see a bunch of kids, play kid music. Play games, talk on the mic, shout out birthdays if you see someone is Celebrating. Pizza was excellent but it would be nice to have concessions on the actual skating side.

Had sooooooo much fun for our first time visiting! The customer service, at the front desk/counter, left MUCH to be desired (which is why I'm giving a 4 star...wish i couldgive 3.5, becauseTHAT'Show rude she was), but we chalked it up to the game. We were first timers and I guess our questions were beneath her 🙄 Other that THAT, everything else was EXCELLENT!!

Cool classic skating complex. Roller skating on one side, with traditional or inline skates, and ice skating and refreshments on the other side! Daughter has been to several birthday parties here, and everybody always had a great time. They even have little training "walkers" for new skaters, which was really neat.

Wasn't terrible but they definitely play the typical jam / rhythm skate songs that have no words. Not the best if you aren't a proficient skater or if you don't enjoy that type of music. Went on a Friday night and it seemed pretty dead compared to most rinks I've been to. Staff were pretty nice and it seemed pretty maintained.

I brought my 4 year old daughter here on a Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere was great and the price isn't bad considering it's for roller and ice skating. update: They really need to make more of those assisted walker things for both skating and ice skating. I had to wait to skate with my daughter until one was available. There were several people walking around asking others if they were done with theirs.

My kids enjoy coming out to skate and we enjoy the time as well. The only downside is the proficient, fast skaters will knock you down if you're too slow. Other than that, it's the same as when I used to go as a teen. Always a classic!

We’ve been coming here for years! It’s always fun! The music isn’t “ghetto.” Family friendly songs with no language! You can also enjoy regular skating and ice skating without paying double! Not overrun with teenagers or unsupervised children. (I have 4 teens of my own so this always concerns me.) Food is somewhat lacking and pricey, but overall a pleasurable experience for the family, if you have young kids or teenagers. Also enjoyed the open layout update to the skating area that removed the front wall area and added seating to put skates on and take a break! They also added new lockers since we were last there! And was happy to see Covid restrictions aren’t too strict! I have asthma so exercise is always difficult for me anyway and with a mask just forget it but on the skate floor they didn’t require a mask and distancing is easy! Very very pleased with our trip today!

Amazing! Ice Skating and Roller Skating under the same roof! Super clean! Very nice place to bring the family and friends. Birthday Party ready too! Concession stand is great. We got 3 pizzas and they were all excellent. We spent 6 hours here today with 11 people. Mask wasn't enforced either, which made it more comfortable. Two BIG thumbs up! Go check it out!

Great family fun. I loved the fact that the admission was good for roller skating and ice skating both and they accept Groupon discounts so we got a great deal and the employees were nice and the rinks were really nice. I thought the concession prices were too high, but otherwise it's a great place for families or anyone who enjoys ice or riller skating

First time visit. Friendly staff with good pricing with using both skate rinks. Family had a great time on both sides in one day. Roller skate DJ & Ref kept the games fun. I wish the kid's ice walkers were a bit taller for me to "help" out my son getting used to the ice. The ice also gets pretty rough with a 2 1/2 hour gap between ice resurfacing. Definately recommend for the family!

Lots of fun for kids & parents! It is a little pricey & it would be nice if they had a family discount or punch card. Usually about $60 for me & my 2 kids. Roller skates are comfortable but the ice skates only have hokey skates as an option & dig into mine & my son's ankles. But luckily the admission price covers both sides and we just went back to the roller side. One last thing that I would add is I wish they were enforcing mask-wearing more. I understand if you're not near anyone but if you're sitting down or come close to people you should be required to wear masks. I would say about 40% had them on right. That was a little worrisome for the amount of people that were there during Christmas break. Otherwise lots of fun!

Great place to skate and good atmosphere. The reason for 3 stars is because of a few reasons One they do not offer military discount, not a big deal but it is $13 a person. Two they still charge 13 even when i brought both my own skates and ice skates.

We did a birthday party here. They provide everything but the cake for a select number of children/skaters. You can skate on either side in the ice or roller rink. The kids had a blast, overall experience was good. The lady who does the parties was awesome. It was a little chaotic at closing time but overall we had a blast.

The roller skate area needs upgrade. There's a $5 occupancy fee if your are accompanying a child which will stop me from coming back. Other than that my kid and I had a fun time.

The manager, host, and lady at concession stand all helped in making my son's 12th Birthday special. Great place for parties. Right now half off party packages through September... Kids are skating from 2-10. Can't beat that! Burn some of your kids energy and come check it out!

Employees very nice. Old facility but always clean. Lots family fun. Places to sit watch kids if you don't skate. SORRY have to edit this 3yrs later nov 2021. Charging an adult $5 to bring their kid and stay with them is not right. Lots kids that come there are too young to be dropped off and at $15 per kid an adult should be able to sit on a bench and watch for free but theyve got to pay $5. The establishment says its Covid protocol. So for 2 kids $30 plus 5 for adult to sit on bench.

We had a great afternoon here. While the building was older it was very clean and has plenty of space. The snack bar was really reasonable on traditional skating food-pizza, hot dogs, funnel cakes and cotton candy. Staff was very busy but friendly.

My boyfriend and I went for our 1 year anniversary. Well, it's been over a decade since I skated. Tried both the ice and the roller but I was in way too much pain. We were only there for about 30 mins but was still able to get a full refund since we didn't really skate. Staff was very nice and understanding. The place was also really clean and if I could skate, I'd go back here for sure! The prices are also extremely reasonable for both skate rinks and skate rentals. Definitely recommend!

I've been here a couple of times. Its pretty neat it has the roller rink and the ice skate rink. Great for parties and gatherings. Parking is kind crazy and it usually has a line coming out the door. Its in a decent part of west little Rock. People love coming here.

I heard rumors about the front desk woman not being customer friendly and they were right. No smiles No greetings, no kind gestures, I understand not loving your job but don't take it out on the customers. Parking is atrocious. There were people parking in space that weren't even lines there. If you are going to have a police officer make sure isn't there holding his belt up all night. There needs to be a referee for all of the young adults who think it's cool to weave in between 2 people with only a foot of space. Music choice could be better. Other than that it appeared clean. Staff makes a difference about the face of the business.

I grew up roller skating at a place like this in New Jersey. The Skatium, for all the fun my kids have, just feels dated and run-down. You have the feeling it could be so much more if a little time/effort/money was put into it. The skating rink floor needs a good sanding; some areas will give you a bumpy ride. We've been here a few times for parties and open skating, and the kids always want to come back.

Tried the public skate on a Friday afternoon and quite enjoyed it. Ice is in good condition, facilities are clean, the cashier is friendly. Would go back for sure. The door to the ice arena is the white double doors under the red awning on the same side as the Ice Arena sign. The other double glass doors under the other red awning must be to the roller skating arena.

My name is Chris Sliter, I'm 39 now and been going to Arkansas Skatium since my teens. I've always enjoy my skating experiences there. The atmosphere is great and the employee's are friendly!! I've always enjoyed the music as well but it seems in recent years the music has been targeting one certain demographic. I hope hip hop music myself but im also a hard rock and metal fan and would love to see more variety and variations of music that also suits to others cultures of peoples

The people where very nice, I mostly Ice Skated bit when I went for a second time one of the professional Ice Skaters taught me how to Ice Stake better and too do a trick. If you need help, just ask they will help you. I will be going in the future!

They need some fixing up (rough spots in floor, ceiling isn't holding up and when it was raining the roof was leaking, skate wheels need to be cleaned). I also question the decision to play "I Got Five on It" on family night. Nothing against the song, but a song about smoking up and drinking is an odd choice for a rink full of families and kids.

Perfect place to hang out with friends, or your GF, BF. I love there’s huge fireplace in right side. If you are good at roller skating? Go to Arkansas Skatium! Ice skating? Don’t worry. That’s little bit harder than roller one.

Yes, the place is a little run down, and the roller rink has as many smells as the downtowns of many cities. That said, I want to congratulate the ice rink and ice skating education units, which are really special.
