First time Axe throwing with the family and we really enjoyed it. I loved it. Super fun! Great staff. Ashley was super nice and guided us through with very clear instructions and guidance. Clean facilities, they sell snacks and beer and have many other games to play such as Jenga and Connect 4. Will be back!

First time we come here. I had never done axe throwing. Our coach David walked us through every step. We all had so much fun. The place was amazing. The flags they have hanging are a great touch. Will definitely be coming back. I truly recommend the place.. Ask for David.

This place was amazing ! The building is clean, well lite and set up with safety in mind. The stalls have seating areas for those who are not throwing, and cubbies for your things. Our coach Ashley gave us a demonstration that was informative but fun so it kept our attention. You can tell she enjoys her job! . Can’t wait to come back!

This is a great place for corporate team building events, birthday parties and date nights, the staff was super friendly and our instructor james was good at explaining how to throw axes as well as knifes. They also have a decent bar which was surprising.

We had a great time at Houston Axe Throwing! I had never been and our instructor, David, was thorough and made sure we had a good time. He checked on us and gave us tips which made ALL the difference. They had a nice selection of beer, too. We will def go back and bring friends. Held my birthday party here with a group of friends and it was awesome! Most of my friends had not axe thrown before, and the instructor (believe his name was Billy), did an excellent job of both teaching and calming them. The facilities were clean and organized, and the bar was well stocked and easy to access. The staff were super helpful and made it easy to host the party, alleviating my husband and I of needing to host/clean. We plan to return in the future!

Our instructor, James, was very patient and encouraging! He provided a lot of great techniques for us to learn how to throw effectively. The entire staff in this establishment is SUPER friendly!! They even have props to do mini photoshoot if you'd like. More than highly recommend this place to have fun and blow off some steam.

We came here for my bachelor party and had an absolute blast! Lindsay (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was an incredible host, and a complete badass with the axes. She was, by far, my group’s best axe thrower. Our only regret is that she wasn’t actually part of the bachelor party! She and the rest of the staff were completely accommodating, patient, and more than happy to take some time to give us a tutorial and additional tips. They even brought out the big axes to take pictures with. 10/10 would recommend! We will be back!!!

She's so knowledgeable, made sure we knew all the safety practices before we started and shared her tips and tricks and went out of her way to make sure it was a fun experience for all. Super fun environment & friendly staff. They walk you through how to throw the axe properly. There are 2 different axes of different weights (1.5lb and 3 lb). It is surprisingly lighter than you expect, and easier than expected to land the axe onto the wooden back board. The hard part is of course getting a bullseye! Highly recommend this place. Prices are reasonable. There are groupons available occasionally.

Austin made my husbands and My first axe throwing experience so fun. He walks you through step by step, is funny, and so patient when we were not the greatest haha. He didn’t hover but always gave us great pointers on making it stick. I highly recommend and ask for Austin if you need a good laugh! The place overall is unique and the aesthetics were on point for this establishment. The price point is so good! The only thing they need is some wings to go with the beers and other drinks they offer. We could easily spend a full day there.

I went there yest with my gfs a group of 25 women .. n had a great experience… the staff was friendly and polite and they gave a good introductory lesson on the axe throwing.. they did cm n check on us time to time to make sure everything was in order n gave helpful tips on better throwing .. clean n safe environment to spend an eve with friends n family ☺️

Went for my birthday and had a GREAT time! Spent 2 hours for a session of axe and knife throwing. Took 30 min to get the hang of it afterwards it was smooth and easy. Meet another group there for their birthday and had a contest to see who could get the most pts. Had a few drinks and shots from the “bar”. Wish the juke joint box played different type of genre music w/o having to download and pay for music you want to hear. Overall, I would definitely return!

Fun place to come practice a new hobby! You can have all sorts of events here, birthday party, bachelorette, bachelor parties, break up parties lol. The instructors are really nice and they will show you the techniques, dos and dont's to hit those targets. We spent like 1:30 hr here and had alot of fun. Beer available!

What's not to like about going some place where you can safely throw axes at wooden targets? This was a great experience for our group. And I would recommend it for any work team building event or just hanging out with friends. The people working here are really nice and help you learn how to get better. They are especially helpful for someone who has never done axe throwing before.

Lots of fun! We had a group of 5 guys and 5 girls and we all had a great time. Our instructor, Greg, was so helpful and so cool! Not only did he provide tips and tricks the ENTIRE 2.5 hours we were there, he also had several games in mind that we played to make it more fun and provide a challenge if you wanted. We played on teams for some games and individually (every man for himself) for other games. The concept is cool, this specific place is cool, and Greg was enthusiastic, attentive, and just really friendly. Highly recommend!

My husband and I decided to try axe throwing for our first time as our 9th anniversary date. David was our instructor and he was great! Easy to follow, straightforward instructions, and a great sense of humor. His puns were almost on par with my husband's. It was extremely fun! After nine years of marriage, it definitely helped us get insight on our capabilities with throwing weapons and our killing intent. Would absolutely recommend!

What a great place! Brought my work team here for socializing and team building it was a blast. The place is well kept and nicely done. The crew there was extremely helpful and the service was great. It was entertaining and fun and kept us going. There is no food here, but they accommodate catered food which was nice as I ordered from a pizza place and it was delivered and setup nicely. There is beer and wine available. Good amount of parking. Easy access off 59. Definitely recommend it. BTW - Axe throwing is not as easy it one would think it is. It was great fun trying and learning how to be an axe thrower!

We just finished Axe throwing for a birthday party. It was great fun. Lynzi was a great instructor and showed us all how to throw the axes and made sure we all understood the safety precautions. I ended up not being very good but was still oddly satisfying! Would definitely try it again.

If you are interested in trying something new yet challenging, try axe throwing because why not? I was a bit hesitant on this, but from the price of $25/pp for a 1.5 hour session with an instructor, it was a steal. There are beverages both alcoholic and non available along with snacks. The restrooms are decently cleaned. They give away trophies too!! Greg did a fantastic job guiding us with our axes. As I said it was challenging, it was definitely a new spin on activity that's for sure. Greg gave my group and another group games for us to compete. Although we didn't do as hot as the others, they earned trophies for winning the competitions. A nice souvenir for memories. I do want to say I did feel extremely safe doing this. Greg ensured that we took many precautions and we all left with 10 fingers and toes. Great time from a great experience.

Loads of fun. Great instructors. They have drinks and snack when you’re waiting for your turn to throw. Remember to stretch and warm up your arm though. My rotator cuff was pretty sore the next day.

First time here. Had an amazing time. I was the only woman in a group of guys and came out on top as Lumber Lady!! Definitely a must try for anyone whether you know how to throw and axe or not. Tovaris was our instructor and he was great and kept us hyped and was full of energy!! They have drinks to buy, beer, sodas, etc. While you wait for your group to start they have a small area with games to play and comfortable seating. We will be going back again and for sure with a group of our friends to make it interesting. You wont be disappointed!!

OMG this place was so much fun! My boyfriend and I had date night here and we had a blast! The staff is super friendly and fun, when we walked in the 1st thing we got were "axe throwing" names, this set the tone for the rest of the night. While we waited for our session to start we played jumbo connect four and had some drinks. Our coach/instructor was Kaylee was fantastic, she was engaged the entire time and was very encouraging as we learned to throw the axes. Even the instructors that weren't coaching us were engaged and made it a very fun experience. I would recommend anyone looking for something new and different to give this a try! NOTE: They do serve beer and wine at the Bellaire location.

The staff was appropriately quirky for this kind of new activity and super helpful. the atmosphere was fun, they do a great job of setting up some games to play so you aren’t just feeling a fool for not really knowing how to throw axes (though obvs they definitely teach you how). Excellent customer service and very organized! Daniel was a great instructor. This was my first time throwing axes and I was able to hit the bullseye a few times. We had a great time and had fun! I appreciated that they took sanitary precautions with Covid-19. They wiped down the equipment and surfaces after each participant. They were also big on safety precautions with the axes. I felt safe using the axe although it can feel intimidating at first. Their check in process was fast and easy. You just had to scan the QR code to fill out the waiver. We’ll definitely be coming back. Thank y’all!

I've been part of League for several years, and each one of them has made a mark on my time there. You will have a great time at this place. They and the managers really put a lot of love into the venue, and it just keeps getting better!

I went on my first ever axe throwing adventure today and it was so fun! We went early so my party of 3 had a lane to ourselves. I enjoyed their use of puns - our team name was the Axstros; I overheard a team name suggestion of the Axstreet Boys and many others. Our instructor Ax-avier explained how to throw, including trick shots. He made every shot he took except one! I wasn't very good but I hit the first bullseye so I got a sticker and to take a picture holding a giant axe that says "lumber lady." I plan to bring my husband for a date night here. The only downside is the location is a bit far for me. If they opened a location in Clear Lake, I'd come every week!

Came here for my friend's bachelor party. Stephen was our host and axe-pert and a great guide and awesome sport. Very engaging, enthusiastic, and did a great job teaching us how to throw the axes and providing helpful pointers. Had a blast! One small comment which may not be valid for everyone, but my left-handed friend (and the rest of us) felt that you didn't have to explain what's different for right handed and left handed throwing each time. We understand that it's just an opposite thing!

One of the good indoor sports place in Houston to have axe throwing game.. with very friendly and well organized place however I love the woody smell due to chopping of wood!! They do train you well with double hand, single hand and trick shots with multiple size axes, however we spend arround 2 hrs for a team building exercise and time flys by very quickly.

This was a very fun night but nothing stood out as spectacular. The coach was with us for like 5 min and then we never saw anyone else again. The price is a little high for throwing axes at wooden targets. I’d probably just spend the money and make my own in the backyard.

We had a group of four and were guided by Melissa. We joined up with 6 strangers, split into teams and Melissa went over safety rules and basic instructions on how to throw. She coached each person, giving feedback and tips on how to adjust for better results. Teams competed in games and it was really cool how just about everybody improved over 1.5 h. I had a blast and would definitely do it again. I’m sure other instructors are great, too, but I highly recommend Melissa. If you go, I would advise calling to see when the next opening is. We dropped in and had to wait 45 min for the next class - just weren’t aware of the setup.

I have 0 upper body strength so I wasn't getting anything to stick and I was getting really frustrated. Went here for a birthday party, 2.5 hour adventure. Greg was great, helping everyone get the most out of their throws. The excitement on people's faces when they finally landed one is great. This is a great way to spend an evening with friends. They sell alcohol and snacks, and you can bring in your own food/catering. They offer league play at very reasonable pricing, as well as their normal fare. Highly recommend.

We went for a group class, which I was a little nervous about doing, because I thought it would be awkward and I thought we wouldn't get as much time throwing. I am happy that I was wrong on both, we got along with our group and I threw a good amount. The instructor was extremely helpful, making it feel like a more accessible sport. Incredible activity and equally phenomenal staff. We had an admittedly rowdy group of guys here for a groomsman event and all had a great time. Mixing danger, competition, and BYOB beverages doesn't usually turn out well, but Houston Axe Throwing has found an incredible balance. This came as a Christmas gift for a private group to enjoy an axe throwing experience. I must admit that I had a wonderful time with my son-in-law and 3 grandsons with their guests. Our instructor, Melissa, was very helpful and made the 2-1/2 hour contest a special event for all of us. I highly recommend this for anyone seeking a fun and different competition with good friends. Unfortunately I live too far away to get involved with their league play because this could easily replace other activities such as league bowling!!! Hey, anyone can do this.

Steve was our instructor and led us through 2.5 hours of axe tossing including some really fun competitive games and an axe tossing tournament. You can tell that the staff loves being there and is very safety conscious. We booked a 1.5 hour lane with Lynzi on Sunday, 2/9/2020, and it was an absolute blast! None of us had ever done it before and were skeptical of how long we'd be required to do it. we threw right up to the 1.5 hour mark and loved every second of it. Lynzi was an absolute asset. New to their establishment, she was clear, communicative, encouraging, knowledgeable, and SUPER fun! We all left talking about building a range in our own backyards. We'll be back, for sure.

WOW! This was so much fun. For my boyfriend's birthday, 13 of us signed up for the 2.5 hour adventure! It was 20-30 minutes of instructions and practice, 2 games and an elimination round. They allow you to bring in beer and wine, and have mini-fridges for storage too! The axeperts were awesome at coaching and helping us become better axe throwers, and it was pretty cool to see how much people can improve in just a couple of hours. Honestly, our group was SOOOOO good, we couldn't seem to eliminate anyone during the elimination round; so, we went over our 2.5 hour reservation. Sarah and Melissa didn't seem phased at all and allowed us to finish out our round! Eventually, we found a winner. The group was so impressed, several have mentioned going back with their employers for team building. Thanks a lot for making it a great time, Houston Axe Throwing!

I came here for a birthday party and I had a blast! My only problem was their refund policy. The day of my boyfriend had an emergency and couldn't make the birthday part. I knew that asking for a refund would not happen, I was hoping they could give me a credit (even if it was time limited) but they said this could not be done. Again I wasn't asking for money refund but for maybe 90% or 80% credit. In all honesty I felt robed, they kept my money and I for a service I did not use. Other than that I had a great time, I just don't know that I will never have my friends pre purchase anything from here.

While our group did have fun, there was a short instruction in the beginning then the instructor jumped straight into games for the 1.5 hour time slot. The continuous games with 10 people in our group did not leave much time for everyone to actually throw. Each time you went up to throw you only got 2-3 throws, then had to switch. We have been to another axe throwing in Austin and they allowed you to get time in practicing throwing the axe, then used the last 30 mins for games. I would prefer spending time getting to actually practice throwing the axe, then playing a game or two. The price between the Austin one and this one was the same but I feel I got my money’s worth in Austin.

Called to see if you needed to make reservations or not. The girl on the phone asked if I had ever been and I responded that my son and I would be first timers. She then suggested that we try the guided public 90 min session. She then said that we would need to make reservations for that. I said ok and made reservations. The day my son and I went the session started but I did not realize that public meant 6 other people would be with us in our session. That was NOT what we planned for. So after about 10 mins of the session I went up to the front desk and told them that I did not realize the session was going to be with others and wanted to see if we could just do our own thing for the remaining hour. The owner said NO because we signed up for the public guided session. I told her I did not realize that it would be with others and that I did not think it should be a problem since they were slow. She told me I would have to pay an extra $20 per person. So if you don't have a group of 8 people doing the guided tour you will be stuck with people you don't know. Because of that we really didnt have a great time but I am sure we will when we visit Class Axe Throwing and just do our own thing.

I've never done any axe throwing before, but I'm glad I chose this place when I chose to do so! When we entered Melissa greated us, she was very polite and funny. We did the 1.5 hour session. We basically come in, sign a waiver, choose a creative name or make one up and wait to see who all shows up for the time slot and then break into teams. Then she teaches you how to throw an axe and then you play games against the opposing team. It was whole lot of fun, they even have axe throwing leagues-i don't know the prices, but I'm definitely interested :-) I definitely recommend this!

Atmosphere: Safely put together for the protection everyone throwing. Plenty of lighting inside. There's a TouchTunes Jukebox inside for everyone to hear. Either download the app or bring cash to listen to music. No hard liquor is sold inside but there is beer and wine. You're being charged by the hour so have fun but also make sure you're ready when it's your turn to throw.

We had family visiting Houston for the first time from California. My brother wasn't available to take us to shoot guns so I figured taking them to throw axes was the next best thing for a "Texas" experience. We all had so much fun and we realized this place is basically in our neighborhood. James, our instructor, was really nice and encouraging when I was the only one who couldn't get the axe to stick over and over again. Greg was the best! Felt like we were hosted by a close friend! He took the time to explain the games to everyone and even showed us a few examples of how to throw the actual axe. He let us have a few practice rounds before the actual games began. I paid a total of $134.37 for a group of 5 players. So you’re looking at about $26 a pop. The building was a bit smaller than I expected, but with all the fun you’ll be having; you honestly won’t care. Also, be prepared to have a funny nickname appointed to you... my friends was “I lick axe”. Very Punny. Lol.
