While touring Downtown Hartford, I came across this colorful area that has been heavily tagged with graffiti. Apparently, it's a skate park and open graffiti area. The skate park itself is quite small with just a few small shapes (all colorfully tagged). I think the more popular activity is the graffiti art. There are plenty of space to work with and it seems that the city encourages people to express their creativity in this safe environment. Great space for unique background to take photographs.

Dope skate spot, nice size ramps for beginners and novice skaters as well as having a little something for everyone, but I found the park to be perfect for someone starting out, there's no bowl or like six foot half pipes or nothing, highest transition is probably like 3 or 4 feet. It's an all concrete park with graffiti decorating almost every inch of the park which makes for a really awesome spot to take pictures. I paid for parking at a meter at first cos the lot across the road usually used for dunkin doughnuts park was closed during the time that I visited the skate park but I realized afterwards that you can pull into the skate park and park at the entrance as long as it's not to crowded and you become blocked in but from what I can tell the park is not that popular, whether Hartford just doesn't have a skate culture or something there was only a few people there during the two hours I spent at the park. There is very limited things to do at the park, I'll say that, but you can always switch up what your doing and a particular ledge or the type of stall your practicing on a transition, you can spend the entire time your there just skating one corner of the park but I can see the park getting old for someone who is very skilled or is looking for variety in the park, this is mainly a street park with a few transitions and ledges. There is a padded gymnastic corner of the park with practice bars and balance beams and I liked this for the reason of practicing different flip tricks into the padded section to kinda get the confidence needed to land the trick i was working on eventually onto the pavement.

This is one of my favorite places in Hartford and in all of Connecticut. A unique and dramatically beautiful location. This park has it's problems with litter, drugs, homeless, parking, clogged drains causing puddles, and just safety in general. If you go please help out by picking up some trash or just by being a decent nice person. It's wonderful for photos, gets hit with sunrise and sunset light. In a great location to attract Hartford youth and out of town skaters and talented graffiti artist. Park has a lot of potential but needs a lot of tender loving care.

I've only walked through,or by there,I don't personally skate. But from what I saw, it looked kinda lame for a skate park! It only had little one foot ramps,some rails, some walls and stairs. But, NO BOWLS! What's up with that Hartford?? Other wise, its an alright park I guess!

Cool spot for skateboarders right in downtown Hartford and only place in Hartford where graffiti is encouraged. Several panels were painted less than a week ago. It would be nice if the skateboarders would pick up after themselves and kept the park cleaner.

I wish that people treated this place with more respect and didnt throw trash everywhere. They spray paint the monuments even though youre allowed to spray paint everything but those. Its such a wonderful community spot its just a shame that its not aprishated by some of the visitors that ruin it for the rest of us.

the best skatepark you will ever go to as far as chillness. this dude CLos planted a guerilla garden in an otherwise wasted patch of dirt so u can skate and grab a freshy veggie snack in the process
