Reviews of Cherry Creek State Park
Nobatti Donatella
Excellent place! Extremely pleasant camping area. The representatives are useful and pleasant. The camp hosts were excellent. Our site was truly perfect and faultless. There are a lot of bicycle and climbing trails. There is an exceptionally huge ocean side region with a lot of regions to excursion. Mainly, there is by all accounts some wrongdoing in the recreation area. There are various signs posted about keeping things secured, particularly bicycles. Be back soon.
Anna Spexarth
Great bike trails, running, walking, etc. Also features a swimming beach! Certain trails you cannot bike on, but are great for walking or running. There are picnic benches near the lake and lots of places to park throughout.
Entrance fees are included in the colorado state parks pass, or are a separate cost.
Worth it as it is a great bit of nature in the middle of the Denver / Aurora metro. Highly recommend!
Alex Fidel
We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 2 week road trip. We’ve previously stayed at a Colorado State campground and from our experience they are all very well taken care of and clean. Our campsite was very spacious and private as our door was pointed towards the exterior of our loop. The campground is also conveniently located 20-25 min from downtown Denver. We would definitely return if we are in the area.

Been to the Dog area so far, but love this State Park. Even if you don't have a dog, come here on a low day & you're guaranteed to smile with all the pups off leash about. Our pup Tali had a blast. My watch said it was about 2miles around the loop. They even have a beach area & river your pups can play in on a hot day.
Will be back!

Beautiful walking trails, the wetland is superb! During our camping trip, we walking just before dusk and the landscape was such a sight to see! We saw a family of dear and found some cool little paths. can't believe I've lived in Denver all my life and never knew all of this natural beauty was right here in the heart of Aurora. This park definitely comes highly recommended!
BOOBIE_FLAY
Always enjoy coming here day or night, boating during the summer days fishing at night daily. Has a shooting range, but good place to bring the family or just hang out on your own
Christopher Gorrie
A beautiful state park in Denver. Especially beautiful in the fall when the trees are changing. The walking/cycling trails are really relaxing to take, and the beach is nice. The lake is cool as well, and is a good place for paddle-boarding and sailing. I’ve never camped here but the campgrounds look nice, especially for cookout style camping. Forsure a great little spot to try out if you live in Denver or are just visiting
J Higgins
This park is GREAT. Boating, camping, fishing, Bbqs and just a great little place nestled away. I paid $11 for a car to get a day pass and it was an all day thing. Taking photos and just taking it all in. Great place to bring the dogs or/and the kids.
Mark Lane
This is an fun and exciting Dog Park, really a lot of free space and even a handicap accessible area adjacent to the creek bed. The dog park is just to the east of the wetlands area near Cottonwood Creek. There was a lot of water in the creek bed, knee to mid-thigh depth. Lot’s of fun with other dogs and a laid back experience today

10/31/21 - it was cold. Nice place, around the city. It has a lot of entrance. Almost all trees leaves are gone. Great place to fish, walk, bike, etc…..mostly during summer even swimming. Right now it’s quiet, you will mainly bird sounds. Pelicans and seagulls are together in one area.
Dolce Vita!
Very nice campground. The employees are helpful and nice. The camp hosts were very good. Our site was really clean and immaculate. There are plenty of bike and hiking trails. There is a very large beach area with plenty of areas to picnic. The only thing is that there seems to be some crime in the park. There are numerous signs posted about keeping things locked up, especially bikes.
Flamingo Moon Campers
We really enjoyed Cherry Creek SP, we did a home on one day mostly across the Dam and back as well as a 13 mile bike ride around the park. I think that the sites are very level, we stayed in the Pioneer loop with power and sewer. We will come back next time we have more time. A bit disappointed with the lake, it had green slime on the shore line, one day and the next it was gone, not sure what kind of algae it was but would not go in with an open cut or wound for sure.
Tamara Parsons
Excellent state park with beautiful spots for campers and tent camping. Lots to do ( kayaking, fishing, flying model airplanes, horseback riding, shooting range) and you're right near the city and the convenient to shopping.
Lone Star Overland
Didn’t expect to find such a cool park in this area. The RV park was very well maintained and clean. We stayed at a site with full hookups. Definitely would stay there again.
vicky grantham
We had a great day there. Grate place to relax the hold day. They have fish, boating, swimming and much fun!
Erica Crutcher Nealy
Celebrated our 15year Anniversary 🎊🎉 on August 3rd over at the Dixie Grove area!! Quiet yet fun memories!! We love Cherry Creek State Park!! 🤠💕 …
Jacob Tharakan Chacko
A real getaway from the crowd, huzzle and buzzle of city life. Serenity and tranquility exit in plenty here. One has to just switch off and get on to any one trail. Initially one may be overcome with loneliness but soon nature makes its presence felt as a companion. Walk with your soulmate here. There's no better place
Ashton D
Excellent park! We'll maintained and spacious. To be so close to the city it's easy to forget about it and enjoy the quiet. Do be aware the bathrooms/showers off of Buffalo loop close on the 1st of October, but the main facilities near the entrance are still available.
Beth Birney
Excellent views. Dog friendly with a huge offleash area! Boat rentals. Lots of trails. Dirt bike offroad course. Picnic area and camping. Nice clean bathrooms throughout.
Jodi Rose
I love Cherry Creek State Park. I spend most of my time on the East side. East Shades has never been full when I’ve been and picnic tables with covers are spaced far enough to feel private.
The bathrooms are all glorified porta-potties but that’s to be expected. Don’t get your hopes up when you see the nice brick buildings! :)
Reid (武思昀)
The best state park in the Great Denver Area hands down. Cherry Creek State Park offers opportunities for cycling, hiking, running, walking, model airplane flying, grilling, water activities, camping, the list goes on. The main road is a bit rough but cyclists can ride on the trails which are well managed. The park is huge and there is plenty of good parking for cars. I cant recommend this state park enough.
Paul Kurz
Amazing experience beautiful view with clean swimming water...trail even had air fill up for bikes! Awesome place..
Jerry & Lynne Goebeler (webecruzin143)
Great, spacious, state park with nice RV sites and wonderful bike and walking paths. The only ding is the awful bumpy roads, but they are working on paving them now.
joe holladay
Nice to have an escape to the wilderness right in the metro area. Lots of birds and other nature. Semi diverse coastline with cool little beaches and wetland areas. A great place to paddle board.
J & K
I hesitate to rate this park because it’s already soooo hard to get a reservation, but this is hands-down our favorite campground. The perfect mix of nature/ camping/solitude (plants & animals, birds & bugs…) and comfort/convenience. This is our 3rd stay in a year and we plan to return OFTEN!
Minutes from Metropolitan Denver in the suburb of Aurora, this sprawling lakeside park has level, paved pads, full hookups (even in February!) impeccably clean restrooms & laundry facilities, friendly camp hosts in every loop, helpful staff in the visitor center / store, HUGE campsites with big picnic tables & fire rings and spectacular views of the Denver skyline with the Rocky Mountains beyond.
We love it. I’m sure you will, too.
Donald OBrien
Great park, I visit often to walk on the swim beach, trails and marina. Many birds here including white pelicans. I volunteer here picking up trash left by others. Help me to keep the park clean for us humans and the animals and fish.
Alex Dingman
Beautiful park! Friendly rangers and volunteers within the campground and visitors center. Level concrete pad with nice area that included a picnic table and fire pit. Would highly recommend!
Tony Hayes
A gem in Denver, perfect place for after work visits.
I would suggest 3 things
1. A walk or bike ride along the path
2. Bird watching near the west shore
3. Paddleboarding
All are awesome
Caleb Smith
Great part with excellent views. The area is very well maintained and caters to many outdoor recreations both on and off water. There are lots of hiking and biking trails around, plenty of spots for fishing, swimming, etc. There are playgrounds for the young and close parking spots to everything as well as a for-pay dog park. Very nice area for everyone wanting to be outdoors!
Michael Stouffer
Wonderful, relaxing afternoon on the lake. It was the first weekend that it was open for boating so it was a bit busy, but we had a blast.
Rebeca P.
We went on a Wednesday afternoon after 430pm, so it was way less crowded. Nice trail paths to walk on & a lot of bikes present, be aware. Shaded tables to sit at with charcoal grills. Bathrooms on one end, so you'll have to walk to it. Nice little beach/sand area on that side, too.
Dru “ScoobyDru”
Amazing run around the lake & through the nature preserve. Only wish the trails off the main trail leading into the nature preserve were better marked on the map (i.e. “You are Here” so I didn’t have to stop to take my phone out to make sure I knew where I was. I will be back!!!

Update, 02/15/2022: I started a new hobby, Bird Photography, and this place is perfect for it!
It's our new weekend destination. We usually spend most of the time at the swim beach. The sand is almost clean and kids love to play there. Water is shallow enough for kids, unless they go too far from the shore. The day pass costs $11. Get an annual pass if you have plans to visit often.
Brian Ehlers
Lots of stuff to do here. I ride my bike on the paved trail through here often. There are also dirt trails for mtn bikes that criss cross through the park. There is boating, fishing, swim beach, rentable kayaks and paddle boards. Many picnic shelters, off leash dog park, archery and gun range. Can get crowded on weekends.
TrishQ
They are re-paving the roads in the park. It will be more bike and car friendly when they are done.
Park has been beautiful this fall with the changing trees.
Dwain Klein
I enjoyed a walk around the western trails of the park at sunset. A nice place to get away from congestion and relax.
Rafs GF
Awesome, spacious RV spots. Super clean! And really nice staff. Has a great reservoir that you can swim in, boat in and fish. The beachy area towards the back is less crowded. Really nice walking trails down to the water from the RV parks. We saw deer, bats at night, otters in the water, frogs and tons of birds!
Jerson R'
The beach is very quiet, there is plenty of space, you can go with friends, family, you can have a barbecue drink, and there is space to park your car
Pamela Lopez
We spend so much time here during the summers. I recommend this place to anyone that wants to get away, without paying and arm and a leg. So fun for families, friends, pets, or even for anyone who wants to do something outdoors without leaving the city.
J K
Great place to take your dogs! Although there is a fee to access the park, it’s well worth it for your dog. There’s water too which the pups always enjoy
Agustin Goba
Cherry Creek State Park is always a pleasure, especially on a bike. The bike paths are marvelous and you can ride up Cherry Creek for miles.
Awad Alnoor
Beautiful place for swimming and cycling trails and walking I like it so much I used to go there on weekends
anna flores
Awesome place! Spots are very large and there's lots to do. Also close to shopping centers for supplies. We will definitely be back!
Y A Dahan
Nice and beautiful as always, much of the park is closed off (Nov 22) for the season but still plenty of prettiness to explore.
Amanda C (Goldie)
I love staying in their campgrounds. The staff are incredible and keep the grounds clean. There are bath houses and a laundry facility and after dark everything is quiet and calm, like you're miles away from the city. There are plenty of walking trails, swimming, shooting, fishing and events at the marina. I highly highly recommend.
Christina Getman
We camped in our RV in the Buffalo Loop and it was fantastic !! Sites are mostly pull through and are very spacious. Full hook ups and shade trees with grass and picnic tables. Quick easy walk on the trail down to the swim beach. We'll most definitely be going back
Martin Glenn
HUGE park, no doubt about that. Very large swim beach with parking for multitudes. Nice, long rec path through the entire park. Boating, tons of bird-watching. It's a real gem, as far as having such a large chunk of open space in the middle of the urban sprawl, but it's a little too urban for my tastes. The very large lake is, after all, a flood-control reservoir, and it looks like it, with the giant dam looming over everything. Still, it's hard to beat the view of the peaks from the swimming beach.
Clarissa Campos
This place is so beautiful, perfect for biking! So many trails! Lots of space, and spots for picnic, water sport. I definitely recommend it!
Brian Watkins
Awesome spot. Love windsurfing here. Nice beaches and easy access.
Cai Jo
Came to the dog park and had a blast. It was a bit of a walk to the water with my lazy Frenchie, but once we got to the creek he found some new energy and had a blast. It's so great to have such a large area to explore together, especially with the water for hot days. Also gorgeous!
Jonathan Keith
A fantastic park tucked away just outside Denver. Numerous areas provide lake access. Although we didn’t catch any fish, we saw quite a few large ones surface. Will definitely be coming back. Great place to view wildlife too!
Matthew Tommarello
Amazing park! With a variety of different trails. Some through desert, some through woods, some along the water. Great views!
Emma Harvey
Visited the campground. Beautiful location nestled in the city. Amazing view of the mountains with lots of trees and grass.
Héctor Manuel Jurado Herrera
excellent, a very beautiful place to relax and have a good time
Bert Minten
Wonderful inner city park with sandy beaches, room for lots of water activities, roads and concrete trails for biking and biking. Also has a nice campground with many large cottonwood trees and great bathroom facilities.
James LaLonde
This place is beautiful!!! We came in through the West entrance kept looking for Swim Beach the signs kept saying go straight. We did and didn't really care that the beach was almost to the East entrance. It's a nice place just turn off the a/c roll down the windows and breathe. When we got to the beach area there's sand and the swim area only goes to about 3 feet. But the view of the sky and sun over the dam was to die for.
WRIGHT NATHANIEL
For being in a big city, this park is really nice and as close to the outdoors in a city you can get. The beach is nice as is the accommodations for campers.
Corinne Mars
Went sailing and had an awesome time! Thanks to Keith for the Sunset Cruise!
Amanda Huls
The beaches at this park were pretty dirty and a lot of drinking/smoking going on. Not what I was expecting for a state park…
The trails and beaches on the south side, where folks paddle board, were cleaner and nicer.
Aaron Spencer
We live nearby, but we LOVE the park! Wildlife, water, tons of trails both paved and gravel. The rangers are all pleasant. The beach and the boating can get crowded in the summer, but there is plenty of room for everything else I mentioned!
Derek Wolfe
The campground was nice but a lot of bugs. The lake is very small and not directional so trying to navigate is difficult at times. Very shallow, deepest reading I saw was 22 ft . The fishing was terrible. The staff was awesome
Yü Wu
A gigantic state park with a lot to offer!
As a runner, I definitely enjoyed taking the trails to loop around the reservoir (which is huge!). There are different sceneries to enjoy, from beaches to woods to low meadows. Restrooms are plenty along the trail, although there might be just one water fountain so make a hydration plan ahead.
There are several entrances and parking lots to the park/the water, the most visited ones have direct access to the beach, picnic areas with BBQ stands.
While it's 12 miles away from the city center, measured by the Cherry Creek Trail, it's connected to urban life by light rail line H at the Nine Mile Station, which is a little over a mile away from the beach.
Barbara “V.” Vaigauskaite
An amazing place. Went there for a hike for the first time. Has a beach, shooting range, off leash dog park, restaurant (during season), sailing, kayak rentals and more. Very well kept. And flat, an easy hike.
Jessica M Jackson
We had a Great time! Fishing, walking the beach and just all around camping.
Peter Navarro
I have been visiting since 1980 and I have never had a negative experience with rangers or other patrons, NEVER. Its that Colorado vibe🤙 More than enough room for everyone. On and off the water. Not bad for an urban state park.
Tyler Cola
Getting into the park can take a bit of time. Anywhere from just a few minutes (if you're lucky) on up to an an hour+. In my experience is usually about 20-30 minutes. Once you're in, the rest is what you'd expect for a reservoir/state park. The beaches were clear of trash and enjoyable.
Scott Woods
There's a sandy beach here, and the water was very warm in the last week of July when we visited. Fairly small reservoir for boating here, but the swimming is great for any ages, with a gentle slow into the water and a designated area for swimming where pets aren't allowed.
Mitchell Tappan
Good dog park but you can see coyotes in the tree line. Some Follow you from the park to your car area. Few advance. I had to chase one from the dog park fence line deep into the woods at 3pm. small dog owners beware
Josh
Beautiful place to just drive around or hike, plenty of things to do here. Me and my partner came from NY and loved this park when we first moved. We visited very frequently, lots of wildlife to see
Richard Petyk
The campgrounds were very nice with level gravel pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. The laundry facilities was an added bonus. And the showers were nice as well.
Haley Hansen
This place is my happy place. Been coming here since I was a kid for camping, swimming in the reservoir, sunbathing, and more recently biking. We have heard coyotes, seen deer, and watched a lot of wonderful birds like pelicans, sea birds, and even eagles if the weather is right. There are a ton of bike paths and you can get around the entire park, with trails even leading out of the park and connecting with other trails. You do have to pay if you drive a vehicle in, which I would recommend a park pass for if you plan on going multiple times. Since we live close, we just hop on our bikes and ride directly into the park. There are places to stop if you want to bring a pic nic, or just enjoy the views. It is such a special spot.
Mimi Lodge
Hiking on trails. Biking on the Cherry Creek bike trail. Many birds, beautiful fall colors, close to Denver. The resevoir is currently low allowing access to the mud flats at the south end of the lake for waterfowl viewing.
Nate Forte
Great camping area, with full hookups. Lots of trails around the lake both for bicycling or fir walking. Great boat and paddleboard location.
Fat Snatch
Love love love this park! Very beautiful! I came across a male and female deer on my hike and I can't believe how close they let me get lol I wish I had my camera with me! Oh well you'll just have to go check out the wildlife yourself! Very peaceful park! Great trails and great for bikers. There's a shooting range and place to fly your planes too! Campers have nice restrooms to shower and also do their laundry!
Kisha Ortiz
Nice this time of year (January)...not crowded and low vehicle traffic. Very clean and paved walking paths but many dirt paths closed (under construction/maintenance). $11 to get in on a daily pass though so spend the day if possible.
Michelle Lamm - Faries
Most expensive place to camp in Colorado.
Camp fees+daily vehicle fees+water fees+shower fee+laundry fee. I'm eat up with fees! Plus ➕️ little to no shade trees in 97° heat. It's cheaper and cooler to go into the mountains to camp, honestly even Estes Park was cheaper!
Other: restrooms clean although some showers didn't work, does have hook-ups and the sites are pretty level and lawn care was very.
Zach Williams
Great place to get outside. Lots of places to ride bikes on paths. Concrete and non concreate. Beautiful views.
Prashama Sandy B
I so love this park. There are concrete paths and dirt paths. Some paths go right next to the reservoir. The park itself is really big, so it is great for biking, walking, blading, etc. It also has an airfield for remote control crafts.
Marmi Le
We always take visitors here since it's so close and makes for a very nice and easy walk since it's totally flat and has the great man-made lake. Last time there were way too many geese for my taste but what can you do. One day we will do a boat or kayaking rental.
Leann Williams
Nice place for boating, swimming or canoeing. A nice picnic area as well. A nice family spot for all ages. Swim beach is nice. And the grounds of all the area was all picked up, clean and well maintained. The swim area was very nice. And people respected each other.
Talon Wright
Not the park it used to be, people don't care about it they just throw trash wherever they feel. Fishing from shore is almost pointless, the only part I love about cherry creek is the range options and endless bike trails.
Mark Haskell
Very convenient for our visit to the Denver area. Bath houses were nearby and clean. Sites don't have much screening between them, but are nicely spaced. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the park for anyone wanting to camp close to Denver. Non-service sites were reasonable, but you need to consider that a $10 admission fee is added to each day.
We enjoyed visiting the Prairie Dog Village near the model plane airfield.
Tina S
Great place for long long walk. Walking the pooch! Being close to water, for taking pictures. Picturesque! Quiet. Away from the humdrum of daily life and noise.
Elizabeth Hieb
Never thought my dog would love the water SO MUCH! He ran around for hours and made many dog friends! Very nice walking paths for the humans as well and big enough that it never felt crowded! Hands down best dog park for my crazy pup! (DOLA area)
Robert Owen
Nice staff and courteous. Relaxing boat ride. A little bumpy but hold on. Safe, we wore life jackets.
Connor Reitz
I am always taken aback by how beautiful the state park is. If you want the best scenic route, I highly recommend you bike around the park in a loop.
John Clark
Wide open space with lots of magpies and "stunted" cottonwoods. Campgrounds full. Hiking/biking trails are easy, as in flat overall.
Carlos Munoz
It's a nice place to go with the family to walk, take photos, swim and ride on your boat! I just wish they could put some mosquito repellent all over the place lol but it is an amazing place to enjoy and have fun. They have plenty not areas for picnic and camping.
scott p
I give all CO state parks 5 stars cause they are all cool and beautiful in their own way
With that said this is not one of my favorites but easy access close to Denver and great for a long sunset walk s
Gary Nguyen (Gary Van Nguyen)
Really nice park in a large open area with great views of the front range. There are lots of picnic table pavilions arrive so you can cook it and grill in the shade. Nicer open Beach area as well. A couple of scenic pull off along the road so you can take photos.
Lagarto Byrne
The only thing preventing me from getting five stars is the condition of the asphalt roads within the park. They have been left to crack and become very uneven. Aside from this feeling the park is lovely! I bicycled through it and will totally do so again when I have the occasion to be thus far south of my front door in Thornton. The lake is excellent with sandy beaches and in the summer that is a swimming beach, something I didn't know after living in town for 8 years. There are opportunities for seeing wildlife, hiking, biking, picnics, and other outdoor activities.
Rachel Brokaw
We loved visiting! The lake has to be one of the most beautiful spots to see a sunset. There are plenty of spots to get close to the water from the beach area and also where the picnic area is. I was impressed by how clean it was. I didn’t see any trash in the area At all. When we went it was pretty empty (likely because it’s not quite summer yet.) The trees were bare! I’m looking forward to coming back during summer and fall. While I don’t love it as much as Chatfield it’s definitely a lovely place to go for a date, walk with the kids or have a picnic.
Jen Mack
Very pretty to walk around. Nice paths, although the maps don't show the dead ended trail that was washed away, which caused a long detour.
Be aware that there is a daily parking fee of $12.
Miriam Nordstrom
Cherry creek is a perfect location for visiting relatives in Denver. Sites are very large and impeccably clean. Amazing sunsets. Our only regret was not getting to spend more time there
Jason O. Nungesser
While I use the off leash area more than any other I still enjoy getting out and about on Cherry Creek State Park at various times.
There are lots of trails for hikers, bikers and runners. The lake/reservoir has a beach for swimmers and, if capable, you can take your boat or jetski out on the water. In the winter people will even go ice fishing out on the ice.
Other parts of the park include a remote controlled plane airport campgrounds and outdoor shooting range
At various tines of day the sharp-eyed visitor can even find snakes, deer, bald eagles and the occasional coyote.
I think I read somewhere that Cherry Creek State Park is the second largest urban park in the USA after Central Park in NYC.
All in all, it's not a bad place to get away from the TV and traffic without having to spend hours driving to and from the mountains.
John Aragon
Been a family park ...we're I learned how to water ski...
Can't wait to see the new(old) development...I.
Miss the old cherry creek.
Love it
Andrea Walker
Pretty cool easy ride over the river and back for 1 hour. Horses were very well behaved. It has started raining and they were just fine. So be prepared for any type of weather.
trinity 4599
Great place! Had a picnic and took the jetski out and went tubing! Wasn't that crowded when we went. Set up a canopy... glad we did because it started to rain... only lasted 15 minutes. Wear some sort of shoes, find glass on the ground. They have a place at the beach area to blow up tubes, not sure how much it is though. Just ski rentals are super expensive and go by the hour. Get the early if you want a spot. Great place to go though!! ..we come here all the time.
Alexander Gedemer
Cherry Creek Is A Great Place To Visit For A Few Hours, It Has Such A Great Aesthetic And Veiw, I Could Stay There Forever. There Are So Many Beautiful Views And Places To Be To Have A Wonderful Time. You Can Find So Many Animals Including Bald Eagles, Coyotes, Deer, Rabits, And Soooooo Much More! Also The Shooting Range Is Off Of The Main Road. If You Want To Go To A Certain Location I Would Recommend "Suhaka Field (Model Airfield)"
Harold Rodriguez
The staff is great and the views are great. There are trails from the campground to the lake where kids can enjoy the sand and water. The price was $18 for the simple campsite and $9 for the day parking pass that expires at 12PM the following day. There is also a playground near the beach and piknick tables to enjoy a snack. It is a gem hidden in the outskirts of Denver.
Cornelius M. Booker
An excellent in the city camping and recreation facility. Stayed her for 2 weeks and was great. Please note that in order to stay here the Park will charge you with a parking fee even if you paid for a RV camp site . For a 2 week stay it will cost you about $75.00 which will be for the entire year for all the State Park ( just cheaper)
Also the showers require that you insert quarters for the water but the toilets are free. You will enjoy. If your pulling a rig make sure you time your arrival after rush hour or you will be sorry
David Erickson
Not at all an out-of-the-way location.
The grounds were clean and seemed well-maintained.
My interaction with staff was limited as I joined my party in the middle of the night.
The deer crossing through our campground made for some excellent entertainment for adults and children alike.
They were not even skittish, and did not run away when approached either by car or on foot.
Excellent location.
Nice lake for paddleboarding.
Clean grounds.
Perfect choice.
We will return!

This would be 5 /5 if the admission price were not so high. I am lucky to live next to this park, so I can walk or ride my bike in without paying a fee. I love this park! Hard to adjust your expectations of "parks" coming from the Midwest (lots of trees and green) to Colorado. However, I've grown to love this park for the diverse landscape, the walking, biking, hiking trails, and (of course) the man-made lake. No, it isn't the cleanest, but it sure is fun to bike around, have a picnic by, or paddle-board on!
Monica E
A very beautiful state park indeed. Visited in late October, and it was very chilly. In the wintertime, the public bathrooms are padlocked - just in case you're like me and had no clue. The lake was absolutely stunning and I felt like I could stay on the beach forever. But, ya know, its was heckin cold.
Places to sit under the shade, as well as grilling spots as well. Large boat marina as well!
Kimberly Vanoverbeck
I love being able to come to the"lake" and have a nice time, basically in town. Camping is easy, full or tent sites. Swim, hike, camp, bike ride, horseback, rentals at The boat house, there is also events for everyone and music. My family LOVES it!
jessrhoward
What a lovely park! We're visitors from out of town and spent a couple afternoons enjoying the walking trails. Everything is well marked, well maintained, and has beautiful views.
Lawrence Lubitz
Colorado beauty without the hills. Beautiful setting to get outdoors, enjoy fresh air, and walk, run, ride alone or with others.
Gabriele Zimmerman
Such a nice get away from the city with so much to offer. Camping, boating, swimming, biking, running, picnic areas, model plane air field, & even a very nice shooting range. We went to visit a few friends that camp there every year. Had a nice BBQ & we were graced with a doe that was out for her evening dinner. Hard to believe it's surrounded by the ever growing city.
Ryan Hoffman
Have only been to the Off-Leash Dog Park. The dog park is really great. It's set up as a loop so when you enter you can go left or right and return to the same place. In the middle of the park is wide open grass and some ditches. The back(Mountain side) of the park follows Cherry Creek and has several entrance ramps/stairs for the dogs to get in the water. There's also a ranch with a couple dozen horses adjacent to the park and it's always nice to watch them do horse stuff. This park is on a few acres so be prepared to walk. Trail is well maintained and easily accessible.
Derek L
I really enjoy riding my bike down here along the reservoir. This place has all sorts of out door things to do from disc golf, to mountain biking, to boating. The park is well maintained and the trails are very nice. This park is always a pleasant experience. Tax money well spent.
Patrick Weil
Beautiful trails, campgrounds and plenty of people ice fishing during the winter.
One of my go to spots for running, especially early in the morning when you can see the sunrise over the reservoir. It can get pretty fully, especially around the lake, so dress accordingly.
B A
Halloween trunk or treat was the best! Thank you Cherry Creek State Park, CPW, sheriff's department and my family
evelyn “Ev” price
Took our dog swimming for the first time!!!
So cute to see him bound over the water, then doggie paddle in the deeper parts.
We had a fabulous family day!!!
Ryan Mull
Great park that is in an urban area, but once you're in there you feel like you're nowhere close to the city. Great views of the mountains and many nice trails. The off leash dog park is a gem in this park too.
Ser Ro
Great park located in the city center. Everything is so close to this park. Plenty of places to go out to eat and look around. They park itself is very clean and well maintained.
Great walking/ biking trail around the small lake located in the park.
Removed 1 star because there was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms, they also have coin operated showers. Another reason is they have terrible roads throughout the entire park!!! Cracks and potholes everywhere!! With all of the money they pull at this park you would think they would spend a little of it on their roads inside the park.
Mr. Noneyabidness
Nice range, I go during the week on off hours to avoid the crowd. I do not go on the weekends anymore ever. I have been flagged with loaded guns on several occasions, and had a group of people all pretending they were spec ops with their rented gun in the lane next to me pointing the gun all over the place crossed the yellow line behind the shooters with a loaded gun and made the experience totally unsafe. Fortunately the RO removed the problem.
The range is nice and well kept. Unfortunately the uneducated can make the range a dangerous place to be, but that's not exclusive to this public range.
Overall the facilities are nice, and well maintained, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the range fees are reasonable for sure. I will go back, but always on off hours, on a weekday in the middle of the week.
Tristan Haddad
City life is full of hustle and bustle, but this is the eye in the center of the storm. Great place to walk around and get a break from the daily rush. Weekend barbecues here are great.
John Golden
A wonderful oasis in the middle of the city. Lots of waking trails, fishing , boating etc.
Kim형수
Beautiful place to visit and also good place to walk, bike, and running. Really love Cherry creek state park and thankful near my home. Enjoy the last moments of autumn😁 …
Benjamin Narvaez
Great time! Water was warm. It was very hot out and perfect place to cool down. Lot of people there, but a lot of room still on the beach. They have several beaches too. I have the season pass though so I was always a fan.
Mario Paez
Awesome park. Great trails, pretty quiet even on weekends (at least to a former New Yorker lol) and tons to do! Fishing, shooting, cycling, camping, bird spotting, RC planes (you need to be a registered pilot)...oh and amazing views of the sunset! Check out my picture, that is 0 filter, standing at the RC plane pit around 7pm. If you plan on visiting often, get the annual pass. It’s a really awesome park to just sit and chill. Worth a visit. Love this place
Edwardo Q
Beautiful place, water levels are kind of low. Good sunsets just be careful with all the byciclists that do not stop or look either way
Devoe Digital
The scenery is so pleasant on the sandy beach of cherry creek state park. Ducks are friendly too 🦆☀️🏖 …
Daneeca Medina
We stayed in camping spot 42. It was nice. A camper and three cars fit nicely without a problem. I suggest sunscreen and something to float on. The water is a 7/10 due to algae and the milky color due to sand particles. The water was not too cold for a land lock state. I suggest bringing chairs to sit on and snacks. No glass is allowed in the park. Overall wonderful day and weekend camping.
Stella Nielsen
Kept clean. After someone moves out they have people go by and clean out fire pit, rake the gravel, wash the table and pick up anything left behind so each site is ready for next person. Have rv sites with full hook ups and many tents sites as well. Camping is by reservation only so book several months in advance. Also the reservoir is a great place for booting and there is a swim beach. Many paved or smooth walking trails around the reservoir
We loved our stay here. Quiet camping as no noise after 10pm.
Corrie Anderle
The kids and I went to the beach here a few weeks ago and had a great time. Great place to go to see birds, there are always a ton of pelicans and other birds. The sand is not super clean though so make sure to bring water shoes or similar.
Harley Leigh
Aurora people are so lucky to have this amazing park in the middle of the city. Staffs are super good. RV site, Tent site are very roomy, that has enough space between each spot. Highly recommend. Be prepared against bugs and mosquitoes. Bug spray works.
Alan Thompson
Great place for a run, bike ride, or a walk! Lots of trails that intertwine, some paved and some gravel. The paths are well maintained but keep an eye out for praire dog holes.
Never had an issue with coyotes, but they are out there. Just be smart, go during daylight, and take note of the warning signs.
Catherine W.
We had our 4yr olds birthday party at the 12 Mile Ranch -- it was nice , but we had an issue with the line getting in: there was no option to drive straight to the stables other than wait in the dog-park line. This seemed super unethical and didnt make any sense-- we had paid for a 2 hr time slot for a birthday party from 1-3pm and our guests were all 30 mins late bc of the line. There needs to be another separate entry or solution to this problem. The stables also never told us to be prepared for this line, which i found unfair. I had also called the head of the parks gate entry department for a solution, but wasnt able to get one. There is zero communication between the park and the stables - so Beware!! Finally , i was quoted $330 for the 2 hr time slot (cut 30 mins short) and was then charged $348 because their "fees changed" - which we were never informed of, either. (But - i think thats what we get for not having anything in writing)? The staff at the ranch were all super friendly and pleasent to us, and the park and the day were beautiful, and the party ended up being great, -- everyone had fun! But i would not try to ever plan another party there again.
Robert Edwards
Awesome. Quite for a warm day but I know that summers are going to be jammed packed. Everything was clean and manicured trails. Great spot to chill and escape the metro area.
Michael Pitts
Great water. Great fishing. This park makes you forget for the most part that you are in the Denver suburbs. Great place to relax, fish, hike, fly RC aircraft, shoot guns and many more with all the provided services.
Progress Asoluka
Love going to this State park, it's always a blast. It's a really big reservoir with lots of surrounding nature around it. Lots of area to grill, lots of places to walk and the trees provide great shade during the summer time. There are also watersports such as boating, jet ski, paddling etc.
robert zoltan
Awesome spot for fishing or swimming
There's what looks like a small beach and till about noon there's very good shade on the beach
Clean too ... Not much garbage around
Lots of cops so thread carefully
Sydney Clark
Love this dog park, it is huge and has amazing views of the mountains in the distance. There are a few trees but a lot of the park is exposed which means it gets very hot in the sun. The creek running through is a great treat for the pups, be prepared for muddy paws!
Satyan Patel
Downright beautiful park. Plenty of fauna and flora to explore. The beach is also fine to take a dip in for an afternoon cool off if one wishes. Plenty of paths to walk around on that are paved, as well as unpaved.
Fishin' In Scrubs
Great place to have a picnic and chill out by the beach...
Sarah Vasquez
Love this camping ground! The beach was scenic, you are able to see the mountains in the background!
A D
Great Park. Gets pretty busy on weekends during the summer but there is a great amount of parking. Some trails do NOT allow dogs, horses, or bikes, please read the signs and respect the wishes of the park. The trails vary with tree shade, some are out in the open. As the park is quite sprawling you can find trails to meet almost all of your needs. Near the lake there are numerous places to grill/picnic and the beach is enjoyable to lounge on. I go here fairly regularly and love it.
Shatrughan Tiwari
Beautiful place, lots of picnic areas, good biking area and great beach for kids to play.
William Culver
I come here all of the time. It is such a beautiful park in the city of Denver. Time after time I see poor management by the idiots that run this operation. We had a flood. Big deal but put a sign at the entrance to the park that you can’t get to the other side of the lake because the road is closed. Don’t have everybody drive 2 miles down the road only to find out that the road is closed.
Robert Stearns
We had a great day just walking around the lake and seeing the few people with their dogs out on the paths. Very calm and quiet. We skipped stones!! We paid $9 for an all day parking permit but I bet you don’t need to.
Bryon Taylor
Great dog park - Not too crowded early or late. Mid day can be rough crowds, and a long line to get in. Once you're in there, there's usually plenty of space for multiple people and dogs. Most of the dogs that go there are pretty well behaved and we haven't had too many problems in the last 5 years of going. They've done a lot of upgrades this year to the park and the off leash area. This is probably the best dog park in the Denver area, slightly beating chatfield.
Marty Larson
This is a really nice well-maintained state park. There are lots of beautiful mature trees, biking/walking paths, campsites, and a reservoir for boating, swimming, fishing. It is a very popular park and if you want to camp here you need to get reservations 6 months prior to when you want to come.
Samson Victor
Very nice natural scenery with small beach. We enjoyed playing with sand, building castle, standing in small waves. The only thing we don’t like in quality of water is not good.
Kaylonial
Really enjoyed our one night stay here. Fire pit, picnic tables, showers/laundry(closed due to covid) but bathrooms are open. easy 5 min drive to boating/fishing/paddle boarding.Campsites are close together but spaceous . Well maintained and very clean. It wad peaceful and quiet. Even saw a deer walk by! A nice piece of nature just on outskirts of the city.
Vanetta Mosetta
Great place to bring the kids! Even if you don't have a boat, you can enjoy the water and the playground. I especially love seeing the pelicans. Worth the $10 entry fee!
Toni Washburn
Great sandy Beach, the swim area was nice and shallow (knee to chest high on an adult) but went back a long ways. Not over run by ducks or geese and lots of picnic areas up in the shade
jamie addie
Decent fishing if you know what you’re fishing for and can get off the shore, friendly staff, too many activities to list. Gets packed Friday-Sunday, weekdays are amazing!
Michael Burmeister
Nice walking trails, some paved. Lakeshore is also walkable around most most of the perimeter. Lots of parking, picnic facilities, adequate restrooms. Boat launch ramps.
Linda McNeill
We went after work and picked up food to have a picnic. Such a beautiful location and very relaxing. Love watching all the boats and water toys.
Alexis Taylor
The overall view isn’t bad, however the reservoir stunk of stagnant water and trash. There was a lot of trash that had been left near the water and it smelled horrible. We had to move to a far side of the edge so that we didn’t have to smell it.
Brian Laug
Always nice! Not much to see in winter but a lovely place in summertime.
John and Nanette Koskosky
Great state park conveniently located just outside Denver!! We didn’t use the lake or trails, but they looked very nice! Bathhouse was spotless !!
Wifey1993
Plenty of paved areas whether you want to bike ride, walk or hike. Today we saw prairie dogs, a deer and people riding horses. There's also a lovely lake and areas for people to BBQ.
Kelsey Smith
Price is not too bad considering you can return within 24hours. My puppies loved the off-leash area of the park. The majority of visitors were friendly and so were their pets. Huge park with beautiful landscape and relatively clean.
Joshua James
I'd give it a five if they didn't charge you for camping plus admission to the park plus charging for showers.
Everything was neat and clean though. Very spacious sites.
Allen Lenhardt
Cherry Creek State Park is filled with nothing but memories from my childhood. Camping the beach, boating, fishing the shooting range it's beautiful. Just recently was there with my family to bring back old memories of our mother and father and the times we shared.
Tesa Thomas
I really enjoy being here it's a beautiful place. there's a little something for everybody. You can swim, you can boat, Bike, fish and Hike. There's a shooting range away from every thing. Covered picnic tables away from the water and close to the water. It was $9 for a day pass.
Will Clark
Water is pretty gnarly here and a lot of the people that go here are slobs who think it's other people's job to clean up after them. The amount of trash left here daily makes me sad for the state of the human race. They need to start issuing fines daily or its just going to get worse until all our public places are shut down or limited. When I first moved to Colorado 20 years ago you would never see someone leave trash . Now with all the transplants and younger people moving here that don't care it's getting ruined.
Diane B
Such a beautiful park! Perfect place to go boating, biking, kayaking or just relax and hang out and enjoy a picnic. It was my first time there and it was a lot bigger than I thought.
Sara Summerton
This park is plenty large enough for biking and running, with well-maintained trails and signs. If you head out into the open space to the southeast, keep a keen eye out for coyotes if you have a small dog!
Elmo Goss
Really nice but hardly spectacular to gain more stars. RV camping is way better than rvrs encounter around the US. It gets 5 stars.
nathan kendall
Absolutely love this place! Great little get-away just outside of town. Beautiful lake with miles of trails. My favorite local place to adventure.
John M. Palladino
Great place to camp in an urban area. You would think you are hundreds of miles away from the city. A bit expensive however for a state park. This is a problem for all Colorado State Parks.
Brent Willms
Campgrounds looked nice and clean. Main gate always takes way to long to get into the park. We waited over 15 minutes just to drive into the park. Restrooms by the west end boat dock needed to be cleaned. This is a great place to bring your family.
Seth Thomas
The park is lovely, with its reservoir and beach, particularly in a region with few bodies of water. It has a wonderful road for biking riding through meadows with the mountains as a backdrop. It would be perfect except the speed boats and gunshots from target practice nearby completely destroy the solitude.
Dennis Hershey
Great campground, MANY hiking and biking trails, and all well maintained. Fantastic park with full hook up and other camping needs. Close to Aurora, yet peaceful and hidden, too.
Phil Merrell
Great place to explore with a family or get the miles in for your training bike/run/walk etc. Picnic sites, camping, fishing, archery, shooting, rc flying, etc. Something for everyone?
Meredith Evans
This park is wonderful all year long! We've been visiting for a few years now and love being there! It's a Nature Oasis in the center (well, not the exact center) of Denver. The surroundings are lovely open space, with trees, grass, water....all that nature provides. The sites are paved and absolutely level, and the people are lovely. You'll see eagles, geese, magpies, and all kinds of other birds; coyotes. fox, deer and all sorts of wildlife. It's such a great place to stay that you'll have to book EARLY, because the sites fill up weeks in advance all year long. In fact, we'd like to encourage Colorado to open more sites! They'd make more money, and we could visit our granddaughters more often!!
Fran Will
Great place to camp. But one negative thing is if you dont have a shower in your camper you have to pay 1.50 for 5 minutes.
Dane Stickney
Good paved trails. Doesn't feel especially "naturey" but it's a nice retreat near the city
Suzanne Werden
Beautiful park. We camped 3 nights. The campgrounds are well maintained. Each site has plenty of space and the facilities are kept very clean.
Mia Cheung
You pay for parking, per car. There are many different activities to do, check out their website. It was easy and fun to walk around. Found this great little side trail that led us right by the water.
Melody Welsh
Good park! I live right next to it and I visit it often. It is free to walk through the park as often as you would like. The trails are well maintained, and there is a good number of signs around. The only problem me and my family have is the restrooms and water. There are restrooms scattered through the park, however they are never open. Even on a Friday afternoon in the middle of the summer the bathrooms may not be open. Another problem is water. Near the waterfront their are water pumps, shops, drinking fountains, and sinks in the bathroom. None of these where functioning on a beautiful summer day when everyone was out and about. I do wish that they had some water available to drink when you are enjoying your time in the park.
Delamar Montgomery
This is an awesome place for camping hanging out with ya peels, fishing and most outside activities. Definitely a good apor6 for some spring and summer fun.
Naomi C
Its a beautiful park that many enjoy. The west side is somewhat desolate with no much to see, but the east side faces the mountains and the setting sun. Gorgeous views.
John Bundy
Really good place with plenty of trails to walk your Pup! First time seeing it partially frozen. One of the better State Parks in the South Denver area in my opinion.
Jordon Lee Kosam
Nice place it has a lot of amenities. I'm looking around if someone doing tour boat fishing or some sort. Please share of information if you have. Thanks
Victoria Svalberg
Beautiful park, taken care of, with great visitors that consistently clean up after their dogs.
We visit this location mostly on weekdays due to odd schedules, so it is never too busy upon our arrival and visit, but I do know that it tends to be busier early and mid day on weekends. You must purchase a parking pass and a dog park pass tp come here, so I would recommend purchasing a Colorado State Parks pass and an additional Dog Park pass (valid at Cherry Creek and Chatfield Dog Parks).
If you don't have a dog, multiple entry points are great for a scenic walk, mostly flat, and the multiple workout spaces and stretch bars that they have strategically placed along the way.
We even had our engagement photos done here, just GORGEOUS!
Oliver Blakemore
Someday I will see the other side of this park. I shall need a bike for it, though. Walking won't do it. I think I will write a story about a village of gnomes or brownies or leprechauns or something who live in the middle of the park. I could believe in a little village of fey creatures living somewhere hidden in this park.
Joanne Macias
I'm close to our home very peaceful stayed if you want it tan if you don't pretty clean for the most don't see trash laying around we always have a great time
C V
Amazing place to have lot of fun. Grills (charlcoal ones ) are available for free as well picnic tables. Bathrooms conveniently located and most important security around the entire area in and out of the water. You can bring your own gas grill and use it near the beach areas. There is one area exclusively to swim called Smoky Hill Beach. I totally recommend this place it is only $10 for a day pass amazingly worth it.
Tayleah Surratt
Awesome multi-use park close to Denver and surrounding suburban communities. Camp sites, fishing, incredible DOLA (dog off leash area), boating, SUP, birding, running, horse back riding, shooting range -- so many options. Great place for families, couples, individuals, really anyone.
Sumashri Varanashi
Best place to spend your day. You can do boating, kayaking, hiking, camping in this place.
Josh arellano
I've always loved Cherry Creek beautiful scenery love fishing and just went to the shooting range for the first time and had a fantastic time ! The park staff is amazing and all of the shooting range staff was beyond friendly and helpful felt like I had some new buddies that worked the range! Also the staff inside very knowledgeable with firearms and had such a great attitude I bought a new hand gun ! Can't wait to go back to the Range and this summer fishing hanging out with friends and family!
Lizeth Rodriguez
Very nice place where you can walk and run .
Lou Ascarrunz
Absolutely the best state park I ever visited. Clean facilities, friendly hosts. Plenty of space between sites so you aren't rubbing elbows. Miles and miles of hiking and bike paths. A lake for boating, fishing, or swimming. A gun range. A huge off leash dog park where dogs can be dogs. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, but you are only a short drive away from Denver.
Katie Coker
Come here every year with all the friends to get together and play games. So enjoyable and great place to hang out for the day or go camping for the weekend. Staff is always nice and helpful.
Shukria O
Beautiful park fee is 10 dollars
Jeff Sung
Great park for hiking, biking and paddle boarding
Myke Michael
Always fun fishing. No crowds but it was thanksgiving. Water level about 6 to 10 ft low.
Victor Lahti
Love to bike this beautiful park, but the roads could definitely be better
Michael Shoop
What a great park! It’s $9 for a day pass per vehicle to the park and $2 to enter the dog park. Usually there’s no attendant so it’s an honor system. My dogs are the happiest dogs when they’re here. Truly their pure joy. I hope to come back every weekend - it’s pretty far south of Denver so a large commute for most.
k y
I've been coming here for 20+ years, good in all seasons, dogs love it
Michael Bing
Favorite place to fish and easy to drop a boat. Wouldn't camp there, there's better reservoir for. That
Peggy Clark
Fabulous for off leash dog park.
Maggie adored the stream area and playing with the other dogs !!!
Stephen Los
Wonderful quiet 5 mile loop around this scenic reservoir
Michelo Mwiinga
The lake is frozen and very beautiful. You can walk on it, not very slippery, there's a thick dusting of snow enough to prevent slipping. Not crowded at all too.
erika russell
The park is beautiful. Best dog park in all of Colorado. The people can get a bit pretentious though.
Vincent Vo
Great lake with amenities. Trout fishing is great right now. Head towards east boat ramp. There is an off leash dog park and a swim beach. It's currently closed to boating. Don't forget the lake has some of the best sunsets in the Denver metro area.
Vanessa
Beautiful fall sunsets! The beach was clean and park was not crowded during the colder season.
Sean Athin
We swam at the beach and it was fun. The water was not to cold, it was very relaxing.
Lou Di Salvo
Park is generally not crowded, close to Denver. The water is refreshing, but I wouldn’t swim in it. Prairie dogs and birds are plentiful. Plenty of trails to occupy your day.
Anthony Andersen
Even if you don't come for the water sports, there's quite a bit of single track here for hiking or biking as well as lots of paved roads and trails.
Saralyn Voltz
Always a quick place to head for me. Parking and getting on the beach can be a little tricky, but possible. The lake is choppy for paddle-boards since speed boats can also be out, but plenty of places to go. There are some spots you will think you’re far enough out from shore, but it’s pretty shallow and will drag your fin through rocks.
Lee Mullenger
Camp sites have large trees. Spaces well apart from each other. Rein deer and other wild life. Trees changing colors. Many spots with tree shade.
Karen Harris
It's a nice state park and there's a lot of things people can do at the park. Sometimes you can see wildlife such as deer but there's one draw back and it is the amount of dead trees there. There are so many of them and I don't like the dead trees. It's awful and they need to something about it. They're ugly and I hate them! They could gradually replace the dead trees with new strong healthy trees.
Claire Elise
Loved swimming with our dog Danke here ! I hear they get very busy at times in the RV park so be sure to make a reservation before coming down.
Lawrence Dewberry
Beautiful place for family to enjoy fishing, boating, picnics, and swimming as beach is available plenty of exploration area for children a accompanied by an adult beautiful place to just relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Carly guo
We love the state park. This time we went camping, then to the swim beach the next morning.
If you can't afford a pass to get in, often your local library (for most CO residents), will have passes you can check out like a book ...
Elisa Cheese
The off leash dog area is the most expansive of its kind that we’ve been able to find. Be careful if you have smaller dogs as we have been attacked by other people’s dogs multiple times so we always have to be on our toes when we see larger dogs approaching.
Mitchell Tuggle
Gun range is nice but it is pricy if you only plan to fire off a couple rounds.
Michael Finkelstein
Great beach, cool to sea a beach right in the middle of the city! Swimming, boating, saw some fishers amd the remains of seagull meals 🤣 …
Janet Krueger
Had a great day with the dogs!! Lots of bicycles out today..water still to cold for me but the dogs loved it!
Connilee Walter
Enjoyable state park in the middle of the city of Denver. Our family enjoys paddleboarding, swim beach, bike trails, camping. Smoky this Labor Day weekend due to forest fires in the mountains.
Becky Laschanzky
Beautiful walking paths. Such a gorgeous colorful Colorado fall this year 2021!
joe
Had a Great Time! Tress were Beautiful and so was The Weather!
Ilona K
The park is a gem near the city. Lots to see and do.
Tony Crowell
One of the most beautiful park 🏞️ I enjoy walking …
Rodney Debus
Great place to camp in the middle of the city, lots of trails and activities.
陈晓玲
I come here to jog. I especially like the wonderful sunset glow shinning from the west denver mountain to the prairies in the park. Sunset with hopes.
David Sexton
Excellent experience for my first-time rider granddaughter. Staff is top notch!
Sheila Karner
It’s fine, but I don’t recommend it for swimming. The water is gross. Best advice: BRING BUG SPRAY! The flies are vicious, and they bite!
Michael Weihrouch
Beautiful park with all kinds of different things to do.
Big Mickey
This is why Denver and Colorado are so great. Excellent city and state parks that are clean, full of well maintained picnic areas, restrooms, trails, landscaping, benches, trail maps and play grounds.
Mily Trejo-Franco
Beautiful, relaxing and clean place!
Marina Miranovich
It's $11 for the entrance and $3 for the access to the off-leash dog park. The line was big to get into the park (we waited 15 mins). But there weren't many people in the off-leash area. The creek is nice, it's shallow. All the dogs we met were friendly. A few people said that they say little snakes hiding under the rocks and tree roots in the creek close to the sides, but we haven't seen any.
Joe Schmoe
It was a great early October day! Bike paths are clearly marked with a 8-9 mile loop around the reservoir. I recommend it for dog friends too.
John Bisonette
Closest state park with a variety of terrain. Brings natural close to the city. Has a plethora of animal's including deer. Also has good public works such as benches, grills, clean bathrooms, and docks for water activities. Over a beautiful park not far from denver with easy access.
Bea Hive
Great place to take a stroll, swim, camp and relax whenever. Park is taken care of really well and the park employees are always helpful with questions and seem happy to help. So glad I’m close by to such an awesome state park!
Abigail Miedema
Not a lot of cover if you're looking to walk but would definitely recommend for biking
Patricia Buwen Whittemore
Nice place to play in the sand and cool off during the hot summers. Wish there were some amenities for snacks, drinks, activities, etc, at the swim beach area.
Christopher Obee
I had a great time at the Shooting range! They have WWII era machine guns available rental!
Brenda Crisafulli
Gorgeous park with lake and grills if they dont have a fire hazard warning going.
Junavi H
I love this state park. You can do everything here, hiking, walking, biking, paddleboarding, picnic and swimming too!
Rey Waagmeester
Lots of great trails and the lake is beautiful! The campsites are pretty close-quarters but full of huge cottonwood trees.
Brett B
Great employees. Nice park. Recommend for sure.
The Kriner Scoop
Love this park! Caught a fish and the off leash dog park is amazing! We’ve been twice this year already
joe sandoval
I love fishing at cherry Creek, really good place to catch walleye and crappies are big. Sometimes a challenge to catch but big ones are in there.
Avani Jokhla
Beautiful and huge state park with a very big lake and a plethora of trails and boating options.it equally beautiful in winter when lake is frozen. A good place to hang out for locals and has good Indian restaurants near by after a long walk. Be careful of mosquitoes in Summer
Rick Jensen
Fishing is not great but atmosphere of all the boating ,swimming etc. Is awesome 😁 …
Mélody Pinhal
Very nice walkable trail, we love to go there
david josé tineo dugarte
Excellent place for relax and share with friends and family, cool water for swimming and place for BBQ, 100 points
Jesse jess
Great place, beautiful to see so many different wild life
Jay Pisano
Great time with family.. plenty to do here, we stayed here all day long without once getting bored or tired.
Christian B
Cherry Creek State Park is one of Colorado's larger parks that is open all year. With many different activities to enjoy. Camping, boating, fishing, are the main points in the summer. This park also offers many miles of trails both paved and gravel for walking and cycling. Traveling to this park by car there is an admission fee but pedestrians and cyclists get in for free. I've been to this park many times and plan to come back many more.
MaryAnn Lecher
Plenty of nature trails, a leash-off dog park, a lake for boating, swimming, khaking and enjoying the lake from the sandy shores.
Varun Varadarajan
Excellent place for outdoor walks, family time, and nature photography.
Caitlin Kaplan
It was grandtabulous! I rode my bike along the dam road into the park to the swim beach. Very pleasant minus the homeless man I saw taking up the whole trail.
Charyle Calvert
Nice place. Geocache in several areas, so I rode around and stopped at many places. My favorite was the Bird viewing area. Nice and quite. I will visit here again to dip my canoe!
Jon M
Beautiful! But hard to get reservations, book well in advance. The staff is very professional and nice.
Cody Chafin
Went to the Shooting range within the park. It was a nice range with lots of different options. The park is beautiful, but they could make the entrance lane for pass holders a lot longer than it is. Waited 10 minutes in line just to pass everyone that was paying.
Kyle Latham
I'm really disappointed with the way this park is looking lately. Before the pandemic it was a great place to spend the day with the family. I went recently and the Portable restrooms at sandy Beach are almost overflowing with feces. Trash and overgrowth. Broken windows, ect.. I love this state park and it's history. I really hope things start looking better soon
Diego Nicholas
Super fun! People there are always chill! Get there early for a good spot though!
Michelle Amador
Absolutely love the off leash dog park!! We go to doggie park at least two to three times a week and always on Saturday or Sunday!! It's like Elitches for dogs😊🐕 …
Dave Mangold
Great location within the urban south Denver area. Bring your own change or a debit card to use laundry. Only debit/credit card charge available for showers, which do have hot water. Affordable tent camping at $28 but no electricity. Trash and cigarette buts everywhere, litterbugs and smokers need to be fined, pick up your trash. Water fountains are needlessly turned off.
Phil Atterbery
Best state park I've stayed in. It's my first choice when coming to Denver.
Tom Capote
Beautiful park, great walking bikes and bike rides!
Annemarie Patterson
Love it quit clean got me year pass for 70$ is good for all 41 stateparks for 12 month or you can pay 9$ for a day we leave so close we drive there right after work with my son feels like you on an ocean
Christina Day
You can bring your cat! Wear sunscreen and bugspray
Barbie Mangiaracina
Our family had such a wonderful everything around us was perfect! Even bathrooms are clean!!! A plus...
Michael McFadden
Only $11 per car and was super fun and inexpensive
Rickey Payne
Great to visit, fish, shoot, fly, walk, run, bike daily. I chose to purchase a house on this side of town for this place. My kids like looking for the albino deer too! I seen it once!
Chris Williams
One of my favorite places to take pictures very quiet not alot of traffic and a very long trail to travel. The view over the reservoir is the best view I found so far.
Joe Grande
Great campground for your maiden voyage with the new RV or to get the RV out and kick the tires every season. also just a spectacular little lake shore by the lake and views of the mountains nearby. The campground is reservations only so make sure you call ahead but all the sites are great many were covered with trees.
Cobra Lily
Lots of birds and gorgeous views. Tou forget you are in the middle of the city. Great place for a relaxing hike or just a day at the beach.
Morgan MacDonell
What a beautiful spot! Not sure why it wasn't more busy.
Anna Phillips Photography
I love this place for family and portraits shoots! It has so many beautiful spots!!
Steven Travis
The lake and park was full. No problem for me and my family we got in dropped the boar in the water and went out and had a great day. The park rangers were i. There game, they were patrolling very frequently and had some of the unsafe people out there get off the water. The wait to get a park pass was about 30 minutes but that's my fault for not purchasing a annual pass. No problems launching the boat had no problems at the boat ramp at all. The lake is beautiful and a nice clam place to go. Would definitely recommend to those that need a little relaxing stay in the city but away from the city.
Mike Jenkins
Nice natural area. Hearing gun shots in some areas of the park might bother some, but I don't mind. Place does get crowded and closed to car traffic until people leave from time to time
Christina ODonnell
This is a very nice park, but the facilities need to be updated.
They should add a water bottle filling station with an attached water fountain and dog bowl.
A Hammock sling station would also be very beneficial.
There is very little shade as you ride the trails. I realize this is a very dry climate, but hey, it's the desert, so more benches need to be covered for shade spots to rest given how far it is between the trail and a tree sometimes.
I may have missed it but, canoe/kayak and life jacket rentals would also be a welcome addition
Hethyr Fouse
This is one of my favorite places to go. It's a little of the wilderness in the city. I love to paddleboard, run, bike, and just be here. There are miles of trails, both paved and dirt (dirt trails are my favorite) to explore. The wildlife preserve area is the best most calming area, where bikes and dogs aren't supposed to enter. I love to see the deer and birds in there! Great diversity of wildlife close to home in the city.
Gigi Bianchi
This is a beautiful park and has many many amenities and things to do.
David L
Good place for fishing early in the morning during the week. The weekends have a lot of activities going on. Good boat ramps.
Ivanna Konozenko
Absolutely love this place and so does my dog! She hates going to regular dog parks now, too boring.
Liz L.E.
First time visitor and I now know why this was my cousins favorite place to spend her down time with friends!!
We will definitely be back!!
Ayanna Hager
Crazy pretty with a lake nearby that you can swim in. Friend chose this spot cause' it seemed closer than it really was to the dog beach.
DeAndre Ephriam
Very nice place and chill atmosphere. I enjoyed my time here
Kevin Wagner
Like the rv set ups, park is quiet at night. Alot of space between campers. Weeds and grass at this time are getting very high around camp sights and open areas. Mowing is needed.
Mike Bazzle
Fantastic spaces for big rig RV's. Both Mule deer and Whitetail deer were roaming all around our RV which is always fun. Clean place, friendly staff. However, I'm only giving it 4 stars because you have to pay extra to use the showers. This is the 33rd State we have camped in and the first campground that charges extra on top of the entrance fee to use the showers. Seems like a petty way to nickel and dime your guests. After the entrance fee and vehicle passes required, we paid $37 per night...higher than most State Campgrounds to begin with. Come on CO...give your guests a nice hot shower.
NiKKi LOVE
Love this Park!!! Home base recreation spot as well as beautiful urban nature surroundings!!! The off leash dog area is the best I have ever scene!!! The Campground is a very hot destination so booking months in advance is necessary to camp but lots and lots of day use spots you can utilize till 10pm. Fishing is good and can be done 24hrs a day at this park. The only downfall I see here is the availability of campsites...and the cost to use the dump station. Iv been using the dump station for my RV somewhat regularly because I'm already there and it is the closest one in the metro even if I had to make a special trip to do so was never approached or spoken to about the dump station nor have I ever seen a sign or fee online about it. I was recently threatened a citation for $100.00 for using the dump station without a dump permit. I said OK I was not aware of any dump permit or pass. Been going there over a decade. Dumping for over a year and been a trained volunteer for GFP for a year now. Never heard thing about it. I am an annual park pass holder. Fishing license holder and park volunteer so I go into the office and obtain my dump permit!!! $28.00!!!! A ONE TIME USE PASS!!! REALLY??? THAT IS THE COST OF A SITE FOR THE NIGHT!!! ON TOP OF THE ENTRANCE FEE IT WOULD COST 38 TO DUMP!!! I think a fee is fine but to charge the cost of a campsite just to dump is nuts especially to a park pass holder and Fishing license holder and volunteer. I guess that is why people just dump there tanks Into our sewers or onto the ground!!! So frustrating feeling taken advantage of by the state!!!
Peggy Buzzell
$9 for day pass per car...nice..we had family reunion it was nice..swim beach is closed to swimming till Memorial Day plenty of voting fishing and watching sailboats beautiful day Campground was clean there were a lot of dogs all on leashes but a lot of dogs
Amanda Monaghan
Beautiful place to watch the sunset and forget that your in the middle of a major metropolitan area.
William Harrison
This small park has a lot to offer with trails, range, camping, fishing and other water activities.
Tamika
Beautiful beach area! Can bring your own grill, chairs, beer and just a great place to hang with family all day!
Jewels MacDonell
Great beach area had a beautiful afternoon there with the kids
Theartis Fennell
Absolutely beautiful but no reason at all they should be charging $11 to get in….
Douglas Sizelove
Beautiful scenery. I got to see grazing deer in the first 2 mins of being in the park. Unfortunately there was a fire recently so there was a few scorched areas.
Bella WJ
Beautiful Lake been going there for 31 years
Jeff Leonard
Visited the CC off leash dog park which connects inside to the creek to cool the pups.
Gena Canto
Beautiful park!! You can walk, run, drive your bike, fishing, etc. Beautiful! I breathed peace 😇😍 …
Siratul Mustakim
A nice sunny day spent
Alejandro Rodriguez
Beautiful and relaxing place, awesome sunset.
Mary Brown
I absolutely love this park! So many walking trails and my dog loves it even more than I do.
雷Sir
Nice beautiful place for fun and picnic, but the lake is little murky.
Dan Schmidt
They need more help if they want to keep up with the demand and the safety for water accidents. They need to keep up with there records on taging on both sites for water crafts. They need a better way to keep track on there passes on distributions and tracking. Like sending out passes that are bought if not picked up after 30 days. Tracking passes as they enter the park to vehicle and license plate to insure theft or wrongdoing.
Solomon Perez
Great outdoor experience! Beautiful beach! Hiking biking, fishing! Excellent dog park!
Michael Romero
Had a great time catching walleye with my brother Mario and my friend Chad.
Trish Bayer
Beautiful Lake to Kayak, boat ,canoe and ski. Saw some high trout that we're size of whales!
Jennawade Hutchison
Love it, so beautiful. The beach is breathtaking! Great family get away. It's a must see and be...
Ed Engay
one of the most beautiful places inside a metropolitan city I've been to. A Must See.
Charles Altic
Gun range is great, with rifle, shotgun and pistol ranges.. Helpful people and training.
RED on VFR
Great lake!! The bottom of it is made of a very fine sand! Nearly as good as the Florida beaches!
Hannah
Nice park! Pretty clean and a lot of activities to enjoy here.
Christina Nava
So much fun! So much to do! Exceptional experience
Leslie Jagoda
This is such a wonderful park to ride your bike and bird watch. There are wide shoulders so bikes and cars easily share the road. I trained here for so many MS 150 bike tours (MS Ride) Perfect to do quick rides after work. Easy access to several bike trails. The juvenile bald eagle is a delight to watch-have to search for him on every visit. I hear and see so many birds every time. Beautiful campgrounds with a dump station, clean bathrooms, flush toilets, showers, and coin operated washer and dryers. The visitor center has cool books.
Redheaded Writing Hood
Beautiful Park right near the city of Denver and where my son lives. Nice clean laundry and showers. Pull through sites. I hope to go back here
Keri Macgill
Decent lake for being in the middle of the city. Too many people there and sometimes a long wait at the gate. But Denver is way overcrowded as a whole...
Jeff Chagnard
Convenient spot for outdoor type activities. Believe there is camping, lake activities, a couple of beach spots, etc. Ease of access from Denver, Aurora, etc is probably the best thing about this spot. Found the lake to be pretty crowded during my visit. There are jet ski rentals on the lake which seemed to bring out a lot of folks that don't understand courtesy when in comes to interacting with other boaters, etc. That aside the time spent here was enjoyable. Would be a great spot to ride around on a bike for a day or so!
steve scott
Hard to get a spot but well worth the effort , super clean, wifi included, nice and quiet, antenna pics up 60 high definition channels and the staff are the nicest people you will ever meet...
D M
One of the best dog parks I've ever been to.
Rocio Sanchez
Its amazing you can swim and bring boats. Its not even expensive you can also go camping its awesome.
Cynthia Lowry RE
My dogs happy place, love the water area! Woof
Joe Kyle
This is a wonderfully clean and well maintained park. We had a big, level pull thru set, could not have asked for better. Very convenient to anywhere in Denver. Will stay again when on the area. The daily park fee in addition to the camping fee does put the price up there though.
T K
Nice park. We enjoyed our afternoon here.
Tony Knightstep
Been here a few times for relaxing at the lake, first time camping at a site and it's really nice. Very clean restrooms and overall camp ground. Highly recommend Cotton Wood Grove camping loop.
Henok Teketay
perfect place for kayaking, fishing, generally for lovers of water and water related activities.
David Mitchell
Nice lake in the city with plenty of places to relax. It does get busy on the weekends so you might want to go early for the best spots.
Mary Williams
Watch out for horse flies, which can turn out to be a bad situation. I ended up with a hospital trip because of it Infection in my blood and urine And a swollen arm. You wouldn't think a little horse fly would do something like that!!
Zach Kent
Found a dead frog along a rocky path. Was a beautiful taste of nature. The pelicans here are beastly to witness.
LSweetMix
We don't have a state pass. It only cost $10USA for the day. There's plenty of space a lot of things you can do here.
Nicholas H
Beautiful views. Great walking and biking paths. Awesome dog park. Nice little beach. Boating too.
Dongling Ma
Huge national park! With many hiking trails. You can drive your car to get to the lake.
Zoe Scott
Great park, but be wary of the 2 women that are bringing aggressive dogs to the park and what you should do if you see them.
Sjon
Good place to run or bike, plus the dog park is pretty amazing.
Tim
Fun park with a variety of things to do including the lake, rc field, firearms range, dog park, and bike trails.
Alan RVer
This is my favorite state park. There is a little road noise at night, but it wasn’t a problem.
Alex Kruger
This is our go to park for the puppy. There's a $10/day fee to get in, or $90 for a year.
Johannes Siegele
Cool place for hot days
Juan E Reyes
I love it this camping ground.. my number 1 favorite so far.
Ella Rubio
Its spacious its nice its clean the bathrooms can be updated for as big as it is it can really use more parking more handicap parking but overall I recommend this place to all my family and friends oh they need more lanes for the entrance it does take to long to get in people should have there cash ready pay and go pay and go it shouldn't take that long 😀 you will return thats for sure.
Larry Simpson
I attended a birthday party at the newly remodeled boathouse! Really nice atmosphere and great view.
Bk M
Want there on a Monday, not so crowded, it was great experience with kiddos!
Natasha Nicole
Aside the harder gravel , love it. Hard to throw a ball because my dig is so fast, he will tear his pads running on the gravel and hard ground, especially being used to doing it on the beach no problem. Otherwise, great outdoor place to take the pup. Love the obstacles too!
Constance Little
Beautiful park with a hiking trail that can take you all the way to Denver!
Kashieffa Escoffery-Rodney
This park was very pretty and the views of the water were lovely.
Tammie Farr
Enjoyed it some boats coming in fast on the dock slash swimming area so be careful
Modular Workshop
Love this place have never had a bad experience here. Lots of trails around the park, And the off leash dog park is a great place.
bill hovseth
I went to the shooting range. My fist time there, the staff was helpful and friendly.
Camilo Castillo
Went camping during Halloween weekend and had an absolute blast! Thank you Cherry Creek for a fantastic holiday weekend
Rowan Kokins
Beautiful. Peaceful. Lots of grills and picnic areas - just be sure to get there early to get a good spot!
Lonnie Rhodes
Friendly, clean & quiet. Nice place!
Deer were playing within 30' of our site.
gene satterfield
Good for camping, horrible fishing. Water is low and weedy.
Shiloh Ord
So beautiful! It has everything you want to do in a summer!
Courtnie Weaver
Super fun, nice walking trails. Good for puppies and children.
MAILY OLIVERA
Niceplace to go any day, yippy can take your own kayak or rent it there also thou can bbq and have a fun day with family or friends.
Cynthia Martin
The Wednesday and Thursday night Marina summer concerts are very nice and relaxing.
Brandon Orth
Beautiful campground / RV park inside Cherry Creek State Park. This place allows for fairly private calling compared to most places. The spots are very space out which is a big bonus. Clean bathrooms and showers. Very affordable.
Just note that there is a daily entrance fee to the state park ($11) if you go in and out.
Cherry Creek State Park is amazing as well. Great to get away for a nature fix while still being in the middle of a city.
Jamie Crowe
We visited during off-season so it was very slow and the restrooms were locked. Not a lot going on. But it was a beautiful day and a very peaceful setting.
Shawn Clark
Cherry Creek State Park was so impressive and
offered so much to do like hiking and biking the many trails around the lake. The fishing was a great experience as we stopped at the many different areas to lure from. Our next trip back we will be taking our furbabies and spending more time exploring the park.
Vanessa Arias
There are a lot of things to do (fishing, hiking on trails, boating), but it can also seem quite small when it gets packed.
Jeannette S
Nice open space, great for dog walks, bike rides, lots of playground area! I’m amazed at how close it is to the urban areas, I love all the parks that greater Denver has to offer
jesterdogg2003
Awesome time even in the cold weather! The stable hands were really nice and helpful!
Krupali Mewada
Great place for one day picnic and camping near Denver city.
Janine Jender
It's a fun place to take the kids when it's hot out and pools are closed for the season!
Harold Ortiz
At Cherry Creek it's easier to ride the trails in the park them take the long way around dealing with traffic or lights and nothing of the sort in the park plus the sites of animal's and scenery are beyond belief
Zakkrogenix
Compared to other state parks, this one is pretty bare and average. It's a lot better to come in the summer time for sure but the winter time and fall time, it's pretty bare. I went camping here and definitely do not prefer to come here to camp cause it's just surrounded by Denver and it's not quiet nor can you see much stars on a clear night. This park is just okay, I prefer other areas, farther away from cities.
Jerry Kingsley
Nice park w great rangers. Close to the city yet a secluded feeling endures
Steph Hooper
It was a beautiful fall weekday. Beautiful area. Several bicyclists out and about. The facilities are closed for the season.
Michelle Dee
Wondering why anyone would rate a state park under 5 stars... I can't imagine how much hard work it takes to maintain on a 24/7 basis. The campgrounds appear popular and park personnel are constantly visible, monitoring for safety and maintenance conditions. Surely drought years and municipal location of the lake indicate that the vegetation has suffered under excessive stress. Not as green as one might expect but functions just fine for some peace and quiet amongst the traffic surrounding it. One might miss the fact that it is a relatively large escape to nature if you've never seen it from the west side view, Belleview Ave and Cherry Creek Vistas offer fantastic advantage to access trail from nearby offices or their home.
M CL
Nice park, you can do a lot of activities like ride road or mountain bike, run/walk trails, SUP, boats, fishing, photography or more...
Jeff Gracey
I have been going to Cherry Creek since i was a child. As a teen i used to ride my bike there to fish. Brought my children there. Its really unfortunate that the only species there that is a threat to the environment and eco system is human. Used to be a great place to fish and picnic. But the overflow of people has made it hard to enjoy. You can still get some good fishing in ( go at night there are some big ones out there. My son caught a 32" 14lb carp one day) The campgrounds are hard to come by and are reservation only. You can usually get a picnic table and still have fun with the family. Occasionally you can spot some deer in the woods or a bald eagle. (Yes i said Bald Eagle) There are owls coyote and many other critters out there to enjoy from a distance. Great hiking trail. Just wish people would be more respectful of our precious spaces.
Mark Dawson
Beautiful park for riding bikes on paved trails. Only complaint would be wish for clearer signs along the trails if you're a newcomers to the park.
Shravya Tatineni
Amazing location for a walk / run. Whichever. Well maintained trails, scenic rotes!
Fred Perello
The campground was awesome with good clean facilities and nice shade trees for most spots. Reservoir has some nice picnic areas with great views and shade. Nice bike trails too.
Ian K
Great RV camping year round. Sometimes hard to find a spot on the weekends but that doesn't matter toe too much. Very quiet place and I've seen a lot of Bald eagles living around the campground.
Lori Ready
Love this park clean, and not too crowded there are so many places to go. Went to the water this time. New to the area and did not know if on paddle boards you still need a life jacket. But other than that very nice.
Jesse Ham
Tommys colorado has boat rentals awesome Surf Boats and equipment. Stoked friendly knowledgable staff. Great for all ages and skill levels for lessons on driving and watersports.
Kimmy E
Haven't been here in about 10 years and wow has it changed! I definitely feel it has changed for the better and looks very nice! Swim areas are well taken care of and the beach was clean. Had a great time here the other day!
Black Screen Media
This park is so pretty. Even though you’re in the middle of Denver it just doesn’t feel like it. Beautiful piece of peaceful wilderness in the middle of the city!
Hassaan Faridi
Great place for camping, beach and water sports. Camping spots are clean and separate enough. Lots of walking and biking trails.
Fishing is not that great. It's also great for day trips. If you go early then it's easy to get in a find good parking spots. Beach is not over crowded either.
Cailan Shannon
Oh man, this is the best dog park in all of Denver. Yes, it costs money to get in but I think it's worth it. We love taking our hooligans to the creek and watching them run free in the water! So much fun and very clean too! Excellent trails for walking
Vicki Thomas
This park is so pretty and the trails are peaceful. We only got to walk it for about 30 mins and then a storm came in.
Andrew Quillen
A gorgeous, well kept state park with stunning, classic Colorado mountain views! The park is full of awesome running trails, beaches/boat accesses, picnic spots, camp grounds, and more. The Cherry Creek Off Leash dog park (which is attached to the state park) is incredible as well—especially for your furry friend(s)!
Kyle Kelso
Spend nearly 40+ weekends here a year. Swimming, hiking, paddle boarding but most importantly at the dog park that is amazing.
Dameon Whitaker
I had a great day walking around the Park. I got a kick out of the fields of prairie dogs!
Ryan Spohn
While I appreciate the efforts made and substantial money spent on this large park, it has one fatal aesthetic flaw - the brutalist, concrete containing wall (of the reservoir) with a freeway on top, and soulless, architecturally soulless office buildings in the background, consume 180° of your view on the water. That said you can drive further back towards the nature preserve and find a few little beach coves that block the view of the wall. The bike paths in the open space look fantastic, albeit with little coverage from the sun.
Adam Knoll
Absolutely wonderful place to camp if you are in the Denver area. We had an RV. They have everything you need as well as a great view of the city. You are an hour away from Colorado Springs, and the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Downtown Denver is under an hour away. It's a wonderful experience
John Starostka (TheJuan)
Even when busy this place has room to spread out. The trails often don't have any congestion, the beaches are clean. Great place to come relax and enjoy nature. Often I see a coyote or two, some deer, eagles & hawks, and plenty of waterfowl.
Greg Kochanski
It has an absolutely spectacular dog park!
American Jen
Love this spot. Shallow waters go out several feet. The beach is large and spreads far. Great spot to take your family.
Ernesto Gonzalez
Went horse back riding the guides were nice and the price was great
Kyla Lovelace
Beautiful! We loved it! I only give 4 stars rather than 5 because of the swarms of mosquitoes (Next time I'll remember the bug spray) and the water was a little dirty. These are all things to be expected outdoors, however, and I will definitely be coming back again! Perfect place to let the kids swim with out worry of social distancing being a problem and such.
Shane Smith
Absolutely one of my favorite parks ever! The regular park is huge and a great place to run or bike or do anything outdoors. The dog park is on a next level though, it is huge (about 2.5 miles around the loop) and has a creek and other cool features like obstacles for your dogs.
Laurie McQuay
Bathrooms closed most of the day. 8 pm to 8 am or until they decide to open them. This morning it was long after 9. Bathrooms closed 10 to 11 and 3 to 4 for cleaning. Unfortunately no trees or bushes to pee behind. Pretty campground otherwise.
R T
Trails galore. Many places to park and good bathroom facilities. Ice fishing for walleye right now because the lake is frozen over.
Amber Lory
City camping at it's finest. Clean and quiet once the sun goes down and the kids go to sleep.
Chad Smith
Nice reservoir in the suburbs. Great trails and picnic areas all around the water.
Patrick Van Der Hyde
A windy day at the park.
