I was stationed at Jackson from’07-‘09 and the only thing that has really changed is the dam is being worked on so you can only observe the lake, no swimming, boating, anything on the lake until repairs are completed. The receptionist said they’ve been working on it for maybe 4 years. Hopefully it’ll be completed sooner than later. The grounds could be kept up a little better as could the restrooms/bath houses but I imagine they lost some revenue due to the lake being closed for dam repairs. There isn’t any concerns getting back here, the biggest rigs will not have any problems. All sites are large concrete pads, FHU. Most sites are spaced very well, some better than others but you won’t be on top of anyone whichever site you’re at. They have a large concrete patio area, nearly the size of the pad itself with a picnic table and fire pit/grill and stand alone grill. Verizon cell coverage is adequate. I had 2 bars and LTE, sometimes 5G. Not like being in the city but sufficient. No wifi. There are cabins and tent sites as well. This isn’t a large campground but there were still a few open spaces. There will be various bugle calls throughout, morning, day and night. You may hear firing range training going on in the distance. You should expect this and it should not be seen as negative, you’re on a military campground. Current RV site price a night is $35, if you have a National park pass it’s $32.50. Despite the lake being off limits right now I will still come back. Once it’s opened back up I’m sure it will be more busy, right now it’s very peaceful.

Nice picnic area, just a military person needs to book the shelter and then you are good to go for a gathering/ even a celebration. Only thing I noticed that the shelters were not marked by the numbers and no I paved parking spots, there is enough space for parking though in the grass, just drive slow and watch the surrounding!

Cabin is so cute , beautiful view, very clean ,looking forward to the next few days here . It is down about 3 miles from base on back side exit . Campground looks real nice and concrete slabs looks like they have lots of room ,not on top of one another.

People at the front desk for very nice. The spaces are open and you have room between each spot without feeling like you are on top of each other. There are three separate playgrounds and a dog area cabins and access to a lake. It is a wonderful place to stay if you are at Fort Jackson for school or for leisure.

Upon checking in, we were greeted by the VERY cordial camp host... a fellow tanker! The sites were clean and cleared, the bath house well taken care of, and our neighbors respectful. This was a great little campground and it would be our pleasure to stay here again. NOTE: I did not think to remind my wife that we were staying on an Army post, and come 0600... I can't GET EM UP in the MOOOOORNING! She asked, "What was that?!" Oh yeah... Reveille...

The view is just amazing. It is a very quiet and clean campground. The camp host is really nice and friendly. We love the place, it is just sad that the lake is close for dam repairs. This could be the best place to camp with kids for summer.

The site is beautiful, the restrooms are clean and well stocked, however, the staff is inattentive until they finally notice that you're there, then they're rude and unhelpful. The paddleboats and swimming are temporarily closed.

Weston lake is clean friendly safe camping grounds. it's beautiful lake has been drained 15 feet for Dam repairs attached is a picture emphasizing water safety when entering the water. This is our second return trip and they offer many water activities and boat rentals.

Really nice campground, clean, spread out spacious and level sites, nice lake, and very close to Ft. Jackson. We are here for our son's basic training family day and graduation. Perfect place to spend time with him and spend the night.

One of the best if not the best site I have stayed at. Love the set up of all utilities, and the parking pad is off the chain. The view is awesome, didn't get the chance to fish, swim or enjoy the beach, but my dog enjoyed the open field. She would actually drag me down the hill so she could run continuously for thirty minutes or so. Look forward to visiting again.

Wonderful views of the Lake, although water levels were unusually low. Clean, spacious cabin with all you need to prepare full meals. Attentive staff that checked on us to ensure we had all we needed. Conveniently close to Fort Jackson.

We stayed @ Westin Lake while my husband was in a 6 mos school @ Ft Jackson. It was beautiful, peaceful & the sites were top notch! Their cabins are awesome too, but book early because they fill up fast!

Nice area to camp if you just want to get away close to home .there's a beach (closed) short trails by the lake, small park for kids, large concrete pads, picnic tables, grills, fire pit and clean restroom/showers. I would give 5* but everything was closed and we weren't told so when booking reservation just a few days before . They don't have a park manager at night to make rounds and our neighbors left their 3 dogs out at all times and they barked all-night and kept us awake so I'm only giving 3*

Was a nice campgrounds. Wish we would have been able to swim in the lake. No life guard on duty during the week. Only weekends. What a bummer, it was 106 degrees while we were their. Crazy. Air conditioning only is good for so long. What good is staying at a lake If you can't enjoy mother nature!

Great full hook up campground for active & retired military. Nice lake. They have a swimming area open in the summer. We went in February, and it was really quiet. You aren't stacked on top of each other. The closest grocery store is a Food Lion, its off site, about 5 miles away. That's the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Beautiful lake with a great winning area. Cabins are amazingly well kept. And the best part is the customer service! Chad is wonderful. He educates guests on all amenities and schedules, very pleasant and set the standard for excellent customer service! Be sure when you schedule your stay or visit to ask for him!

If you are looking for quite this is th he place. Majority of sites are spaces good distance from each other. Full hookups. Not much to do though. No pool, lake was closed for swimming. Can rent canoes and such. Fishing requires both state and Ft. Jackson license 7 to 15 mile drive to shopping and restaurants.

Cabins are great at an even better rate! Swimming here but only limited to fri-sun. Great camping areas for tent or RVs. They have lake activity rentals like small personal boats.

Perfect retreat. Quiet, Peaceful, and Serene are all words I'd use to describe the cabins, scenery and atmosphere at Weston Lake. The cabin was clean and well stocked with towels, dishes, pots, pans and supplies. The deck was ideal - facing the lake (watching the sunrise and set) while in a sturdy chair or sturdy rocking chair. Sharing a cabin with family was fun. Although having just one bathroom on the bottom floor was not ideal; it worked. Would have preferred more than one double bed, but we also made it work. Look forward to another adventure there soon.

I would have given this a five-star, but they do not have a laundromat on site. Places are very level, spread apart, and well-maintained. The military police from Fort Jackson Patrol the area throughout the day and evening.

We rented a cabin when we were visiting Fort Jackson to see our son graduate basic. Booking and checking in was easy and cheaper than the local hotels. Easy access to base thru a back gate that is less traveled meant avoiding the crazy traffic. The cabins are very nice and clean with all the amenities. Very relaxing lakeside cabins close to everything and far enough away to be quiet

Small swim area on sandy lake... beautiful scenery...the water was green but fairly clean minus some algae or something growing around the swim area borders near the lily pads. Good amount of free seating provided and umbrellas... lifeguards are friendly... Adult swim ever 2 hrs or so to ensure kids stay hydrated and safe... no swimming within 30 minutes of thunder or lightning so make sure you check the weather before heading over!

This is a DOD facility. This is one of the best campsites I have stayed at within the MWR system. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There are several playgrounds and open spaces for kids. I rarely have issues with loud music, dogs, or other annoyances. Overall it is extremely serene. There are several RV hookups with 30 and 50 amp wiring at each site. The lake is easily accessible, but is a little small for power boating. Kayaking and canoeing is optimal. A quick note: Many families of graduating Soldiers come from Wednesday to Saturday, so space may be limited during the summer months.

Military Only campground with large concrete pads on every spot. All of the older spots are very roomy, but lack a ton of shade. Fairly quite during the week and still mostly quite on the weekend with the occasional younger group coming in. Quiet hours start at 2300. Very nice beach area on Lake Weston, but you will pay $2 per person to access it for the day.

Camping is very peaceful at Weston Lake, but the rules are not enforced very well and the bathhouse is ALWAYS nasty! It is the same dirt that has been there 2 or 3 months ago when we were here! When we mentioned the bathrooms to the staff last trip, we were told that they were cleaned every day, but they can't stop the spiders/webs. A blind person could see that the bathhouse has not been cleaned in months! Spiders and bugs don't make dirt and dried urine stains all over the backs of the toilet by the lid! And It is not because they don't know how to clean. If you examine the bathroom by the boat dock, it is VERY CLEAN! Night and day compared to the NASTY BATHHOUSE!!! We do continue to come to Weston Lake because it is close to family.
