Reviews of Cheyenne Aquatic Center
I have not had opportunity to frequent lately but when I have it has been clean. They have been able to provide CCA a place to train on occasions when school have been closed. This review is also for their response to job applications. They were very responsive and willing to work around schedules.
Went the end of November so the outside section wasn't open but what was open was pretty fun. They have 2 diving boards but the shorter one closes when someone is using the climbing wall. Nice little tots area with a tiny water playground and a small lazy "river". There are also a couple of basketball hoops for the tweens to play on and 3 waterslides for those who dare. The whole facility is a little on the smaller side. Not sure what capacity is in the summer/winter but I'd say 200/100 would be pretty packed.
We had such a great time today at the Cheyenne Aquatic Center! The facility is nice and the desk staff was very friendly and welcoming! I would like to thank a lifeguard named Bailey. She was working at the slide and she was very friendly and nice to everyone.
This is the best way to get the most entertainment for you money. I can take all my kids and have a couple hours of fun for about $20. The staff is courteous, and the life guards seem very professional. The children's area and the lazy river have been closed the past couple times we've gone. but even without those amenities its still the best way to have a fun afternoon on a budget.
Wonderful staff, clean great fun. Large family changing rooms with showers and changing tables. Large locker rooms with bathrooms and showers. Showers have smoking hot water. 2 fun swirly slides. They have a rock wall extended over the pool. Lazy river is smaller but plenty of fun. Nice size activity pool with 2 basketball goals. Large lap pool. And a baby water play ground indoors for toddlers. Really nice.
The aquatic center staff went out of their way to accommodate us at an odd hour. They were fantastic. Kudos from Adam's Camp!!!!
My family enjoys it all year round, in the summer time the splash park area was always fun and fresh.
We took our 3 kids ages 5, 4 and 3 swimming during the tot time on a Saturday morning. All 3 kids had a blast and an hour just the right amount of time before they got cranky. Only things that would improve would be warmer locker rooms so kids aren’t freezing after being in the pool and having towels for guests to use.
I haven't been to this place in over 20 years they really have made some great changes and it seems to me that the chlorine level is a bit more swimmer friendly. I went for the recreational swim and got a pretty good work out, the facility was clean and the staff friendly. I have more appointments to attend so I am looking forward to my second visit and many more.
This is a community establishment. It is a privilege to swim & partake in the Cheyenne aquatic center.
I've always been treated well and respected when in the establishment by the staff.
If you dance to your own drum beat, others may not like your music. This is a community Aquatic facility not YOUR personal Leisure pools for you to use as YOU see fit.
If you can't swim with the community then prepare to not have your wishes "derespected" or not grantedit.
It is a privilege to have this lovely aquatic facility in our community.
I respect that.
I appreciate & respect the responsibility of those who maintain this facility for the community to use.
Thank you°~.☆.~°
The staff were very kind and helpful. The facility is very clean. It’s a fantastic family environment.
Attentive & friendly staff. Clean, easy to get to.
Love it!! Prices are decent and they have great customer service.
My only complaint is the fact that children are not being controlled better by their parents and a lot of the older kids are completely rude and disrespectful. My mom took me there last year when I was still pregnant with my son so that I could relax and have some pain relief. We ended up being cornered by a whole bunch of kids and they were splashing us and pushing and shoving us. We ended up leaving because of that situation. I'm honestly nervous about bringing my son there, just because of how rude and disrespectful people are and I don't want him to get hurt because nobody watches where they are going or who they run into.
This is a wonderful place and the kids had a wonderful time. Lots to do - they have a kids play area with a lazy river, an open area to play, and a separate pool with diving boards and lap swimming. You have to reserve a spot, and it's limited to 2 hours.
Very well organized. Proper staffing/life guards on duty. Well maintained and everything was clean. Repeat customer. We will definitely return.
We came here for a birthday party. The goat family rented out the entire "under 8" section for an hour. The kids loved it! They provided life guards and let us use the slides and the spray park inside. We brought in cupcakes and balloons. It was a great party,i would highly recommend it.
My daughter got out of the pool because she had goggles on and she said there were objects and stool down there . The life guards are questioning her age when she’s twelve ,and can swim they are quite rude at times. The pools are different temperatures like one is cold one is warm ,I don’t recommend this pool at all mostly because of you and your kids safety.Going towards the germs and how dirty the pool is.
I like this place. I've been going there for years now. My biggest concern is that this swimming pool is really cold during the winter time. Even though it is inside of a building. The wind somehow gets throught walls and you can feel it, when you step out of the water for a moment. But at the same time, I think this place is great. Nice employees, two pools, two diving boards, a climbing wall. It's just pretty cold. They also use cold water, all four seasons of the year. It's good though.
The pool is great, especially since they remodeled and my kids love the spray park but I met my friend from laramie and her kids there one day and we hadn't been there 20 minutes and they told us we had to leave because they were going to clean the area. Fine, but first of all no one had told us at the front desk when we paid that they would be closing in 20 minutes and secondly they said that we could come back again at 1 and pay again. It's only $1.25 per kid but it's the fact that we were never informed that they were closing and the high school kids that run the place have absolutely no customer service skills.
Not to bad of a pool. Water is a little bit on the cooler side, but still worth it. I would have given 5 stars but the outside water area is no longer included in the in door swim.
Had a blast with the kids one life guard was a little rude to the kids when he was redirecting them but all the others were very nice and great with the kids
Nice pools, usually warm but not too warm. There is a kiddie pool play area, smaller pool, lazy river, slides, diving, lap swim and main pool area. Not overly chlorinated. Clean. Courteous. There are benches and a table to sit at if you don't want to swim with the kids.
*Prices for open swim are currently $2 (8 and under) $4 (9-17) $5 (18+), military and senior 60+ discounts available. This includes slides, and everything... (2019)
*Heads up: they charge extra if you use a card, bring cash.
*Aerobics classes are amazing! I love their fitness classes and highly recommend! This includes participants as well, everyone seems non judgmental and fun. Great workout but low impact and I have arthritis and multiple back problems. You can sign up for monthly classes or just drop in for an occasional class as long as there is room.
*IMO the swimming lessons are redundant and overpriced, even when kids level up it's the same basics. They mix all ages together. I learned multiple strokes, floating, diving, etc in a 6 week swim course when I was 7 in a different state. At this pool... 5 months later and they are still blowing bubbles and get about 5 min max of time to swim/one on one. My kid learned more from me in 2 hours than from months of swim lessons. (Only reason it isn't 5 stars)
Went to the Cheyenne Aquatic Center to assist my daughter with her boys who are taking lessons. Had not been there since the renovations. The family changing facilities are nice. However there is no seating for parents while students are in class. You either have to lean against the wall or sit on the floor.
Great place for all kids young and old. We spent 3 hours here. They allow outside food. From the diving boards, slides, rock wall, lazy river, basketball or kiddy area... lots of fun! Lifeguards are alert and friendly. Life jackets available and kids under 8 wear a band so lifeguards watch out for them. We look forward to going again soon. Call and make sure it is an open swim time.
We absolutely love going here. It's great that they have an area for the smaller kids, and a time slot too. Kind of bummed out that the Splash Pad didn't open sooner. Staff is friendly, and its clean !!!
Nice place. Old guy at the font is rude. I think he was mad because I didnt have a mask on. Instead of asking me to put one on, he was rude. Had no clue how many meters the pool was "ehhh I don't know" . Otherwise, the facility was not bad at all.
I go daily for lap swim. I have regularly for the last 4 years. And off and on for the last 7 years. I do like the new improvements. I like the family showers. I like the way the improvements look. I like the new water slides and the entire new area. The zero entrance water area for small kids is a great idea. I really enjoy the lazy river. I just wish it were bigger. I appreciate what the city has tried to do for the swimmers of Cheyenne. However, I only gave the pool 3 stars. Here's why...the water temperature for the lap pool is very cold. It's not because of a broken water temperature. It's like this every day including for rec swim. The water is much warmer in the new addition. You eventually do adjust to the cold water but it takes a while and you have to keep moving. Often times I will opt to swim on base just because I hate the cold water.
A second reason is because the hours are unreliable. Both on the website and on the paper. I have to just call when I want to go to make sure its okay to swim.
A third reason...I do enjoy the fact that I can do laps while my kids are enjoying rec swim. I don't like that the lap lanes aren't just for lappers. Kids are free to swim around the lap lanes and get in the way. They aren't made to stay out of that area. Makes it hard to actually do laps during that time.
And the last reason is because of how strong the chlorine is. I understand that you have to keep the pool clean. But the chlorine is much stronger than it use to be. It does burn my skin and bothers my asthma. I swim with goggles on at all times, and my eyes still burn.
Water was too cold for my 19-month-old son (and me!) to take swimming lessons.
A few of the male staff members were great, we had forgotten our towels and they went out if their way to find us towels, and brought them to us warm out of the dryer after seeing my son shivering. It was so kind and so appreciated!!!
Toddler time is a great chance to teach your kid to swim or get them used to water/get over a fear of water in a safe and fun place. They have an outdoor splash park in the summer that you can reserve for parties. They also have a water slide, but it is only open at certain times.
Great pool! Wish someone hadn't broken something when we tried to go back a 2nd day. The other sides kinda boring but we managed to have fun!
We stopped by on our way home and really enjoyed ourselves. Unfortunately for the Aquatic center, there was a tornado warning which came with giant hail and the threat of the tornado coming right on top of the building. Everyone was directed to the locker rooms which ended up splitting up families. Some of the employees were not being discreet about the fact that if a tornado came on top of the building it would simply rip the roof right off and the building was not coded for a tornado. One big problem with the locker room situation is that I was separated from my wife during this time and we had no way of contacting one another. With the conversation about the safety of the building and not being able to reach me, my wife had to insist that we leave so we could escape the path of the possible tornado. We did get out of town and fortunately the tornado didn't ever descend, but I believe a better policy should be put in place for situations like that.
There is lots to do and they let you barrow life vests for the kiddos. They have two slides. A rock climbing wall. Lazy river. Area for water hoops. Toddler area with slide and water falls.
Awesome place to take the kids. I believe the young ladies name was Kelsey. Very informative and shared information about the aquatic center. Started a conversation with her after my kids were acting up and she reprimanded them. She was professional and curtious. Thank you!
The pricing and hours are unclear. Today we arrived at 4:30 and were told we could rec swim for 30 minutes, but then would have to exit and repay to use the splash park because it would be a "new session." On the website, it it says that the cost of the spray park is based on, "the appropriate daily fee." There's nothing on the website regarding fees for the splash park being based on the indoor sessions. We weren't going to pay for 30 minutes, to exit and repay. And why only 4 hours a day for rec swim? Seems extremely limited. It's a great facility, but the limitations and unclear pay structure turn people away.
Only used the facility for a shower due to being on a long road trip/camping with my husband. Staff was friendly, showers were hot & entire bathroom/locker room was clean. Shower was only $2.
Thanks Cheyanne Aquatic Center!
Very Appreciative & Weary Traveler
They offer free swim hours sometimes. Normal fee is $5 per person. It is clean, fun, and there staff is polite. The kids had a blast at the indoor pool.
Our family has been swimming here for year, we've done recreational swim, water aerobics and parties. They are all great, the splash park is better for the littler ones though. Great slides too!
It's awesome to go to in the winter when the kids are in school. It's peaceful and there are only maybe 5 other people. Open swim is on Thursdays from 10am to 4pm.
Please turn up the temperature for lap swimming. I realize that vigorous swimming warms a person up, but not all do hard-core swimming. I like to pace myself and practice so warmer would be nice. Thanks
Cheyenne's best(only) public pool for lap swimming. Nice staff, good hours, rarely have to share a lane. Inexpensive at ~4$/day.
Very well ran pool. Nice friendly staff. Always clean
Affordable, family fun. Great way to cool off on a hot day. My toddler and my pre teen both had allot of fun and it was safe.
We attended a children's birthday party. Great idea, fun little place. Hear it's usually busy but would be fun to come again.
They charge an extra $1.25 to use a charge card and the staff isn’t super knowledgeable or helpful when asking questions. It’s a nice pool otherwise just seemingly mismanaged. Clean locker rooms and plenty of activities to participate in.
It's fun, but last time there wasn't enough life guards to monitor both pools.
Couldn't believe that my family and I missed out on this place for two years! We had no idea it was here. Affordable and fun!
Newly remodeled pool. LED lighting, painted lap lanes, fantastic children’s area, and lazy river. Fitness classes for all levels of experience. There’s something for EVERYONE!
Very cool what they did to the place I love it I wish they would have made an outdoor pool for the summer months, and it smells like they use to much chlorine it burns the eyes really bad, and gives you a headache from the strong smell but it's a really great place.
Very nice place helpful people good attitude good atmosphere somewhere you would want to be instead of somewhere you have to be is how they make you feel and I know that's the way everybody wants it to be so I would recommend this place to anyone who wants 2 go to some nice place where they give good service and are very helpful and what they do
I took my grandchildren. What a change since I was last there (MANY years ago). It is GREAT!!!! SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE OF ALL AGES, SIZES, JUST WONDERFUL ! We plan to return tomorrow.!!!!!!
The place is fun but they seriously need new employees. They are obviously so miserable they have to have an attitude over any questions you ask. Wack
Very clean facility, super friendly staff. Rock wall is fun, and the lazy river is great...towel rental is priced appropriately, cash only however.
I've been taking my nephew here a lot this summer and the staff and facilities are really pretty amazing. thanks so much for all they do keeping this place nice.
Decent place, basic with a 2 diving boards, 2 slides, and a climbing wall. Not bad for what it is. Only con for me is the water was super cold.
For a community pool, the city of Cheyenne has gone all out. It used to be a small pool when I was growing up but now has a dedicated kid area, a small lazy river. The kids love it
I am pleased to announce that this establishment was entered in a contest in 1991 and has successfully won the competition out of all 3000 community pools for winning the competition the treasury Department would like to donate three million dollars for an outside olympic size swimming pool. With necessary hot tubs and saunas and steam rooms for our cherished athletes and marching band members of the Cheyenne Wyoming area.

Great place to take the kids for some morning everyone. We enjoyed the variety of water activities. (Slides, rock climbing wall, diving boards, lazy river, basketball hoops).
Great city facility... A gem that you shouldn't pass on.
If you get a chance, try the inflatables out!
It is really fun to go do, they have life vests so my little brother can swim, it’s fun to go and hang out there
I love to swim here, it has a decent size I family oriented and involved. It has a latge locker room and cabannas to use. It is less crowded during the wee.
Good place, but anywhere that primarily employs teenagers one expects less glowing customer service.
First time to tour. From Sheridan, visiting relatives .Very Nice, had a nice tour with manager..I will swim when I get a chance this week.
A very clean establishment. Family-friendly and fitness oriented for everyone! They have water spinning and boards for yoga and core exercises. Deepwater. amazing facility!
The updates have been great, it is nice to have a facility of this quality for the families of Cheyenne. Swimming lessons here are also really good.
Fun facility with lots to do. The staff were nice as well.
Nice and clean facility that's well kept, with friendly staff.
Only downside is that the pool is small, so don't be surprised.
Most of the time my experience is good but other times my friends or family get called for thinga they can and can't do when we follow all directions and rules
Good for winter swimming. However, the people can be strict, and really expensive. I would go on at late night on Friday, because it is really crowded on the weekends.
The best public pool I've ever been to! Perfect for all ages, affordable and tremendous fun.
The water is so cold but the kids area is great. Just would be nicer if the water was warmer.
I love swimming here! I am impressed with the staff..they have handled reopening extemely well and I am grateful.
Amazing place for all ages but I particularly like how many kids activities and areas they have available.
It's really one of the only public pools in town, the only one indoors with slides and a spray park. Nice new facilities and friendly staff :)
The ultimate location to catch your favorite 5 star raid pokemon. Feel like the ultimate pokemon master, from the comfort of your cars.
Great place, loved the rock wall, springboard and high dive. Was a great place to have a birthday party
Great pool area for little ones. Plenty of room and equipment for everyone and for all ages
They should change their times online so that way when someone wants to go swimming they can see if they are open or not on non holidays so they don't waste their gas like I did 😒😒 …
Great staff. They kept updated on the weather and informed us when we needed to head inside do to lightening
I haven't been here in awhile but I did love the size of the heated pool.
The prices have gone up since they expanded but still overall a very good value for family entertainment as well as good exercise.
Had a lot fun and wasn't expansive
Recently heavily remodeled and very nice.
Wish they had a steam room and gym equipment
Friendly staff and really nice facility. The pool for the kids is great!
Need a more baby/toddler friendly part of pool(s) but otherwise good nice lady at desk
Super fun the lazy river was warm the 12 foot was cool the low dive is fun and so is the rock wall!!!
Nice pool with slide, lazy river, playground, and diving boards. The water is too cold.
Fun place to swim, has slides and different things you can do. Just crowded a lot
Lots of fun. Great place to rent for a party.
Lazy river pool needs cleaning. But overall nice pool
Love this place! Great pool, nice prices, and kind staff.
Good public pool, with a great play area for alage of kids.
Cheyenne's aquatic center is great for the entire family. I highly recommend it.
Wonderful, not to crowded on a Friday afternoon
Should have someone at the pool for entrance to be sure small children that escape there parents can't get in with out an adult.
My kids like swimming here, the new facility is nice.
They have the best slides and fun for kids
The slides were fun and the pools were nice.
It was fun but the life guards suck there super mean
Very nice community swimming pool. They offer great swim classes for my kids
Friendly staff. Great lap pool and nice tot area and lazy river.

Great during the week but can be very crowded on weekends and holidays.
So fun love it staff is great and all the stuff they have is great
Nice city pool with swim lanes and a children’s play area.
I liked it! Not to crowded
Great pool for lap swims! Not crowded!
Not to bad just need to have more staff in my opinion.
Nice clean pool and locker rooms. A bit cold at times
Am excellent pool with fun waterslides and diving boards.
Cheap, friendly staff, doesn't obnoxiously blow whistle as much.
It’s really clean and well kept with friendly staff
