KJ was the man. Best teacher/trainer. Place was great. Staff was super friendly. Great time. We played Black Jack 21. I honestly think this was the best game since it was pretty tough to get the axes on the board. Place is BYOB they have separated from the main brand so it’s a totally different business. No more liquor license so be sure to bring drinks. Overall good vibes and great time. ( Just need to supply the hood friends). Over all score… 8.1!

Have to admit, the idea of beer and axe throws in the same building made me a little nervous. But from the moment we walked in and were greeted by the lovely and talented Adrienne, I knew we were in for a safe and super fun adventure. She clearly explained the rules and safety considerations, and aptly taught me how to convert my aimless bouncing first few axe throws into a string of perfect bullseyes. Think playing darts, only much more potentially lethal. Big fun time, totally safe. Loved it!

Me and my boyfriend just decided to take a day trip to Philly from NYC and randomly decided to do the axe throwing. We had Adrien, and she was AMAZING. So fun, so down to earth. She made our time soooo worth it. She was so friendly as well and since the place was empty since it was an afternoon on the weekday, she played music that we loved. The experience itself is so fun, definitely something you can bring a whole group to but we had fun with just us two.

Had the BEST time at Bury The Hatchet with our instructor Minty (10/10 made the experience awesome). This was our first time axe throwing and we honestly didn’t know what we signed up for but it was so much fun. Definitely recommend for small or large groups or even date night. You’ll need to bring your own food, but they do have beer. I’m not a big beer person but my group really liked their options and they also have stateside vodkas. Also recommend the two hour package! We were a bit late but even then the time flew bye. Can’t wait to come back and sharpen up my skills lol For accessibility- it is up a few flights of stairs and I didn’t see an elevator.

This place is AWESOME! Our “axe master” Noah did a great job teaching us (4 beginners) how to throw, and play several different games that we enjoyed. Whenever one of us struggled to hit a target, Noah had really good feedback that worked every time (“step further!” “Release the axe closer to eye height!”) and by the end of an hour and a half we were skilled enough to hit 8.5x11 paper targets stapled to our boards. We all had a great time and would definitely go again! If you’re worried about safety where axes and alcohol are both involved, I promise you it is ok! There were some very definitive safety rules implemented. We had a picnic bench for food and drinks, and a cubby/counter separating it from the throwing lanes. Only 2 people (one per lane) were allowed in the throwing area at one time, and each person could throw a single axe before both went to retrieve them together. Axes had to be put in their wooden stand, not ever handed directly to another thrower. The facility clearly thought through their safety rules very carefully and thoroughly and we all felt safe the whole time we were there.

Adrienne , was an amazing axe instructor and an amazing person. The experience was fun and educational. The atmosphere was also a plus with the games and even beer selection. Definitely will be coming back.

Bury the Hatchet was another fun one to cross off my bucket list. We went early on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't very crowded. The space is nicely laid out with plenty of space for "social distancing" and "social gatherings" at the same time, lol. Our Axe Master Noah was crazy nice & helpful. He made us feel very much at home, supplying us with different challenges we could try instead of just throwing an ax at a bullseye for an hour or two. The space is well kept, the bathrooms are clean, the staff is excellent. I would suggest bringing some grub or beverages as chicken fingers, vegan burgers, or soft pretzels are not really available here. There was however a microwave, and bottled water available. The price sounds a bit high, but it's an adventure and will take up a good chunk of your day so, I was Ok with it. Oh yeh, the ax throwing part is not hard. It's safely facilitated and it will definitely help relieve any pent up tension or anger you may have. We will be returning again with some new unsuspecting adventure seekers.

Awesome place. You'll really have fun, especially if Jammie is your axe master. Super cool guy and really knowledgeable. Great atmosphere and if you feel intimidated by it they will make you feel like a master yourself in your first two throws.

His service was friendly, he engaged with us by sharing techniques and by teaching us how to throw because we were first timers! I will definitely come back! This was a GREAT experience. Overall a really awesome experience! I was worried that the place would be small as it was on the corner and you had to go up the stairs, but it was actually very spacious and super busy on the day I went. It got to be pretty hot in the space despite the fans. I’m not sure if there was central air. My friend and I were assisted by John! He was super cool and even took photos for us. S/O to you John, you’re awesome! I’d definitely come here again.

Noah, our Axe Master, was awesome. Neither me nor my girlfriend are super athletic (we did soccer and dance as kids but stopped after high school) but Noah had us both throwing pretty accurately within a few minutes. They have a bunch of games, including Battleship, which was awesome. We were lucky enough to walk in but appointments are strongly encouraged. We'll be back!

We had a fun time - The staff did what we paid them to do which was provide axes and a place to throw them. It's BYOB (NO HARD LIQUOR) and they do not offer food service. However, the staff was very accommodating by offering a corkscrew and cups for us. We had some challenges with people arriving timely and they took good care of us by switching up our time. Lots of mentions of tipping the Axe Masters... i believe tips are for EXTRAORDINARY service (especially if you are making minimum wage unlike service who make service wages).... so my point is... Why are we tipping them? They did what I believe was their job. We still tipped $40 for our 1hr party of 8 so I guess.... ?

Me and some friends did an evening here on Saturday, February 23, and it was an absolute blast. Place was packed but the atmosphere and energy were incredible. Our Axe-Master did an incredible job of keeping the group moving and the games fun. Highly recommended. The only minus is, street parking. So it took us a while to find parking. And do yourselves a favor and be on time! Your time slot is what you pay for, so if you're running late, you are wasting your money.
