A gem! Lifeguards do a great job, nice mix of shade and sun. Great splash pad for kids that don’t want to be in the wading pool. Bathrooms, gorgeous views of the river around it. Amazing playground. Lovely!

Lots of fun ways kids can test their agility and use their imaginations! Great year round: Lacks shade for the brightest summer days, but has terrific water features to compensate. River and trails nearby add to the possibilities. Overall, one of the area's best playgrounds.

We celebrated our cousin 1st Birthday there. The space was perfect but we had to get there early to get the space bcus it a first come. We had so much fun and the kids did not want to leave the pool. Everybody was so friendly

It is amazing place! Very good playground and free swimming pool for kiddos. The pool opens at 10 a.m. But there are already queues to swim. We waited in line for 30 min. Enjoy!

First time here on day 2 of spring 2021 and would be back in summer. People have started coming out gradually and when it is green all over, would be definitely more lively. Kids will enjoy as well if they go on biking, running - playground and the splash pool would be fun as well. Glad that we were here this morning.

Big playground in the park near the Charles River. Has 2 splash fountains territories for the kids. One with the small pool is closed. There is a big free parking, restrooms, tables, benches. The playground is diverse and has a zone for small kids and older kids. We enjoyed this place.

Really nice big playground. Has a sprinkler area, a wading pool (closed right now, but we’ll come back next summer), several play structures aimed for older kids and a play structure for younger kids. It’s next to the river so very pretty. The only downside is that there isn’t much shade, particularly near the water structures. Bring lots of sunscreen.

Free of cost. Very nice for kids and families to spend summer days. Park has alots of things. It has wading pool, separate water splash, 2 playgrounds separate for young kids and big kids, good parking, nice river view, nice walk on river side. kayaking... that is separate. Very clean restrooms. Hot and cold water in restrooms. Drinking fountains. Bicycling trail. Nice benches to sit. Most of them are under tree shades. Life gurads on duty in wading pool only. Nice for picnics. No grills available, but you can bring your own. Must see place if you live near Boston.

Great hotel right near Harvard Square. Rooms are small and the train is right nearby and lots of noisy college students but super clean, nice staff and espresso machine available 24/7!! I'd stay here again but request a room off the road.

Fun and free. Just make sure that you navigate to the parking lot off-ramp and not to Artesani. If you miss the turn-off, getting turned around and back is REALLY out of the way. Google maps navigates you to the side of a highway, not to the parking lot. The parking lot is one-way so you have to catch it long befofe you will see the playground.

The perfect place does exist..The life guards are great and helpful. There’s plenty of parking and it’s all free. There’s multiple options of things to do as there is a large wading pool ,a separate spray park, and a large pirate themed playground.This is all on site overlooking the Charles River. There is a trail and bike path marked with plenty of benches, and even boat rentals. It’s also great for birdwatching and fishing too. It’s a great place to come by your self, with your kids, or have a large gathering. It can get crowded on weekends but everyone I’ve encountered is pretty nice and courteous and there’s plenty of space in the rest of the park to get away from the crowd if need be.

My favorite place to bring children. It has everything plus a great ice cream truck. There is no food but a McDonald’s around the corner or plenty of benches for being your own food. The kids love the water and they need a swimming costume. Even adults can go on with the kiddies. Be prepared with sunscreen and towels.

Very safe and fun for young kids. Deepest part is only two feet. And it has several spouts that spray water and buckets that dump water but nothing too intense for young children. Also have two lifeguards on duty. It opens at 10:00, which is a great time to go since it's very uncrowded.

We really love taking our kids here. The splash pad and wading pool are a lot of fun when they're open. The water is really only comfortable if it is 85 F or higher and sunny, so don't go on colder days. The pool can get crowded and dirty by the end of the day, so it is best to come early. The playground equipment is also nice. Best of all there is TONS of parking. Definitely worth a couple of visits during June and August when the weather is good.

Nice place! 2021 - playground still seems new and well kept. So many things to do - Swings, climbing structures, noise makers, etc. all just next to the beautiful Charles River. HUGE parking lot right next to the park so easily accessible and convenient for a car. Situated In between Boston and Watertown! Great for pre-toddlers, toddlers, and kids!

Today was the first time coming here. I brought my 5 year old son and 4.5 year old nephew. They absolutely loved it!! We got here around 11 and there was hardly any parking spots. We were able to find one in the furthest spot away, I was able to move my car closer at 1 and there were a lot of spots by then. The wading pool is perfect for their age, it's 2 feet deep so they didn't need their life jackets. They have sprinklers and buckets that dump out. There is also a splash area for younger children that they also had a lot of fun at. The park is really cool too, it's a pirate theme with lots of different climbing structures. There is plenty of life guards, a shower, bath house, water fountains for drinking, and an ice cream truck that has been here all day long. Best place to bring children on a hot summer day and for free!!

The park is situated on the bank of Charles River with great scenery , bike trails and lots of greenery. There is food and beer available for sale. Great playground for kids , possible fishing areas and boat rentals in season. Great for families and dates.

Went with a one and three year old and had a blast. The two playgrounds were great and offered a variety of options for both kids. The streaming water features were intense in the wading pool and the water was a bit chilly, but it was 84 degrees outside so can't complain. Playing in the smaller kid water area was refreshing with less intense flowing water (still a bit chilly). The bathrooms were clean and the picnic tables were in the shade. This was an awesome day for everyone!

There was a long wait at the pool only 50 people can go in the pool at the same time. The staff was very pleasant. That explains the rules and that you had a child before you went in the pool. He also explained that there was a water fountain and that everyone should have some water regularly because it was so hot out there.

Excellent water play option for toddlers and kids. It has big fun spray structures in the wading pool as well as a separate spray section by the playground. It's right next to a beautiful river as well. The only downside is that everyone knows it, and it's really crowded on hot weekend days.

The wading pool here is fantastic; I've never been to anything like it in the area! Although crowded on a hot weekend, it was still fun. It's also lovely to be so close to the Charles River, which gives the place a very natural feel to it. There are also two nice playground structures and a sprinkler play area. When we were there, several of the parts of the sprinkler area were not spraying water, maybe 1/4 of it wasn't working. The bathrooms were not that nice or clean, but far from the grossest public pool restrooms I've been in. Very large parking lot, lots of picnic tables.

Perfect place to bring young kids on a hot summer day. FREE! Pool with fountains that's not more than 2' deep. Another flat area with fountains for babies and toddlers - no depth. And two playgrounds enclosed by fences: one for younger kids and one for older. Plus free parking!! Awesome spot.

I've been coming here since i was a little girl. Way before the park was done over. This is a great place for BBQs and feeding the ducks. The pool is great for the children and there are lifeguards! My children are 5, 9 and 11 and they love it here!

This is a fantastic place to bring the kiddos! Very large wading pool, spray area and two playgrounds. There’s usually an ice cream truck nearby (very expensive ice cream truck, or maybe I’m just old now). There’s a large grassy area near the river where people picnic and grill. I don’t think grilling is technically permitted, but maybe it’s not enforced if you don’t leave a mess? I hope this is the case...

We are enjoying the improvements and renovations but the new playground doesn't have much shade. The splash deck continues to be fun. The close proximity to the Charles River and Herter Park is a major bonus. It has a large parking lot, but it gets crowded if other events are going on and they do tow. There are several picnic tables and a bathroom. The ice cream truck is overpriced though.

Cool playground. Water play is small and not that exciting (judging by my kids reaction). Pool was empty and needing maintenance when we visited, which is a shame, since that seemed to be the most fun bit in a warmer day. Location is fantastic and there's plenty of carpark spots

Loved it here. It was very clean and tons of life guards but It was terribly crowded and we ended up parking almost a 8 minute walk because there isnt enough parking in the lot. So either come extremely early or be prepared to circle the lot in the heat. Becareful because places are very muddy due to the water.

Great Urban playground on the banks of the Charles River. There is a large wading pool with a fountain and two well-equipped playgrounds. Picnic tables and benches adjacent to the pool are a nice spot to have lunch and enjoy a beautiful view of the river and the local rowers. People from many parts of the city come here so it can get crowded on hot days. Pool and playgrounds are fenced and gated and the pool has lifeguards on duty

My kids love it here. I think its a great wading/sprinkler park. It gets crowded but not that crowded to the point that my kids can still swim and get wet freely. My kids came here alot throughout the summer so we cant wait till next summer to come back and enjoy it again. I think the only problem I did have was with a lifeguard asking me if my daughter had a swimming diaper in which she did, and that was it. but there was other babies in the pool who didnt have a swimming diaper, so i dont know if she was just profiling or what. but overall it has been good.

It's our favorite play place in Boston. Unfortunately the wading pond is closed but splash pad is open. Also, almost no kids had masked and very few parents. Not sure why schools are bothering with Covid protocol if the parents arent enforcing outside of school.

Perfect for people that want to spend time out in the sun for summer. The splash pad and wading pool is amazing! But I would recommend adding a swimming pool for older kids so they will have a better swimming experience.

I have pictures of this place, starting 3 years ago.. it’s become a summer tradition. We splash, we snack, we play and then we splash some more. I’ve played ring around the rosy in the wading pool with so many kids I can’t even count! This place is tops for a hot humid day. Kids are happy, then exhausted! It’s a win win win for everyone.

The children's pool in the summer is great, te sprinklers park it is too. The only thing is that the toddlers and older kids playgrounds are kind of old. The rubber part where children walk in the playground structure has come off and now the metal is exposed, which makes it extremely hot in the summer. Children might hurt themselves if they touch this or sit on it.
