Nice pond. Nice pavilion. Bathrooms are frequently closed. Grass is not maintained. No beach. There is a concrete jetty under the water that allows fishing into the middle of the water. Great for kids to fish.

I haven't fished with my son in a few years. Nice little lake in Billings. Lots of perch, carp, and small mouth bass. Fished off the dock.

One of my favorite spots to walk in the morning. .75 mile path around it, perfect for walking and running the dog. Plus in the summer, it's a great spot to paddleboard and stay cool. Kids and I swam it's length a number of times this past summer.

One of my favorite places to go for a walk and hang out with my daughter when I visit. The park is pet friendly and very low traffic considering how nice it is. It's also home to one of the regional offices for Montana Fish and Game. It's open during regular business hours during the week. It's nice to visit and educational for all and the kiddos.

My day at this park Lake Elmo was a great day they are grills there for you too cook on. So we had a BBQ and dipped our feet in.. there is swings and a park there for your kids. You can bring floaties or even swim there if you would like. But it ls a lake that hasn't been drained Yuck! It is very beautiful spot to take nice scenery pictures 😍

Had a great time here, took my dog to the dog park which was closed at the time due to hazardous algae bloom disappointing but we still had fun walking the trail and seeing wildlife. Mack and I will be back again soon.

We enjoyed paddle boarding here & my boys love collecting all the little shells, looking for crawdads, they even found a big clam this time. We also walk with their metal detectors on the beach. But we choose not to really swim because their is always at least 3 or 4 dead fish floating near by along with seaweed. When you get out of the water you definitely have a smell to you & your swim suit from being in the water.

Fine place to go to if you don't want to drive far, but it isn't particularly clean water. No drinking is allowed, and the park discourages you from bringing your pets. There are better lakes to swim at near Billings if you're willing to drive 40+ minutes out of town.

Beautiful day! Children playing in the sand, pavillion being used for a family gathering; dogs, paddle boarders, and fishing. I think many people have a bad perception of Lake Elmo... they should reconsider! Only recommendation would be for the bathrooms to be open on Sundays, and more shoreline clean up on Sundays.

The water is brown, but wet and cool. I don't recommend getting the water in your mouth or you may grow a third arm. I don't recommend spending to much time in the water or your skin may turn green. I don't recommend staying on the beach to long or you might get crabs. That is all. Happy swimming!

A great park with great scenery. The playground utilizes recycled rubber as the base of the playground. It is way nicer than wood chips and worlds better than the the gravel I had as a child growing up during the 80's. There is a boat launch, a tiny beach, and a nice lake. A very nice park.

Love this place since a child. I sont swim 🏊‍♂️ in it but there are places to barbecue, and reatrooms 2022 This man made Lake has been drained.. A neighbor got a huge weird claim after the drainage, took it home. He and his mom looked at it after they opened it . They said it was just weird , smelly and pretty gnarly..

It's basically on the outskirts of town. Fair sized, man made lake with stocked, variety of fish. No motorized craft allowed on the lake. There are picnic shelters, kids play ground, paved parking and restrooms. The water's edge is a work in progress with some beach areas and a boat ramp. No overnight camping. A great day trip.

Nice location and great scenery. Good location for a family gathering, has everything you need. You can fish, barbecue, sit and eat, and then enjoy the view. But make sure are prepared for the little blood suckers because they come out in full effect. I'd go back again.

Lake Elmo is always fun. If your fishing, swimming or out on the water in your favorite row boat or paddle board. There is something for everyone. Bring the dogs to the dog park let the kids kill some energy on the playground. There are a good number of pick-nik tables and BBQs available.

Really liked this location because it's close to home, and it's a good place to learn to kayak. If you're not into hearing screaming kids, go to the other side of the lake and bring an anchor. If you're not into barking dogs, stay on the side where the kids are. If you don't like either... this may not be the place for you.

Decent sized pond which is great for paddle boarding or kayaking. I'm not much of a lake swimmer, but there was plenty of action there as well. No motor sports. 10 minutes from my house. Definitely doing again.

I love this lake! I've never lived 6 minutes away from this lake and it has everything! It's had paths for walking and biking. A beach area. A playground. Picnic tables. Perfect atmosphere for a great day

I've been fishing here quite a few times. Usually catch a lot of small perch and rainbow trout using worms as bait. One time in early summer I was there I caught 2-4 pound bass every time I cast out using a spinner. There is a nice walking trail around the lake and a pretty good playground for children. Fish and Wildlife has their county headquarters here as well so you can get a fishing license if you need one or just go look at the exhibits they have inside. Overall, it's a good place to go with your family or go by yourself for a walk or run. There is no alcohol allowed in the park so don't bring any beer fishing haha

I go there just for walks myself. There's a lot that you can do there, about the same as any place. Fishing, canoeing and other type of boats with no motors. It's a nice place for walks and jogs. You just have to go inorder to enjoy it. The kids usually take their flotation devices, and have a great time at Lake Elmo.

Non-residents pay six bucks per vehicle. There were workers present but litter all over the ground and no toilet paper in the rest rooms. Locals were doing donuts in the lot. We're road tripping so we've acquainted ourselves with many parks and this one was okay but there are definitely better.

A summer must. I was really impressed with how well maintained the park was, its changed so much, and for the better. If you haven't been in some time be sure to give this place a chance. Even I took a swim and I used to be terribly afraid of the water there

The hypodermic needles were unflavored this past year and quite frankly my pie was no where near as good as the year previous. The sunlight they store underneath the waves is calming. I can only assume it's bioluminescence of a creature or creatures planted there by an unknown entity. Anyway the potato salad I found here once was fermented enough it gave me a buzz. Stay hydrated.

The park is really nice. Only problem is using the picnic table at the beach section you will have to deal with animal feces. Other than that a great place to hang out. There are some areas for picnicking that you won't have to deal with the animal feces.

Good place to go clothes if you want to get wet and enjoy the sun you can kayak on the lake fish with a boat without a motor fish on the shore. They stopped the lake there's a big fish out there. Kids Playground, dog park, showers and bathrooms picnic tables and a few barbecues

Love fishing there where I had to move Lake Elmo is a great place to take the family and go fishing I used to spend a lot of time up there as a kid and then I got an adult with friends and family it was close to where we used to live just a fun place all the way around when we come through there in the spring we'll definitely have to go by there and it's also a cool building next door at the fishing game building you still are going in there and looking around the people that work at the fwp office and Billings are super nice

Major repairs and upkeep from the late 1990s has made this a fun safe park for families. Some parts are a little rough but I have had a lot of fun here.

The water was so nice, very clean beach. The restrooms we also well taken care of, loved the outdoor shower for rinsing sand off. Also there was a paved path down to the beach so you can take your stroller!

It is a lovely and active state park with swimming, non motor boats and canoes, it has fishing, grass, sand, walking trails, friendly and helpful people, picnic tables and a few barbeques, a pier, a ramp down to the edge of the water, a public bathroom, a lost and found and a couple covered tables. There is ample parking and it is handicap accessible. If you pay on your tags to go to the state parks and live in the area you can get in at no charge otherwise it is $6

I'm from St Louis Missouri. I was staying with my mom. Wish we were burying my 8 year old nephew from brain tumor it's a very sad time and very sad situation. We decided we wanted to do something besides what we were doing at the time. I had brought out some paddle boards and I didn't know. But this area was full of paddle boards St Louis I like the only one that has a paddle board seems like on the river or anything else besides the original neighborhoods that have a lake or pony whatever you want to call it. Of course they've got paddle boards. But I blew up the Powerball up and me and my mom just enjoyed just floating around the lake all their other people had a paddle boards too and I was very very happy to see. He's a very clean area the water was clear clean and it was warm very impressed especially in the outskirts of Billings. I enjoyed myself and so did my mom I'm tired to my paddle board and I poured her around and she sat in the tube it was great we just chit chatted and we just love the day. Thank you for having this area for us thank you for stopping and reading my post

A great place to take the kids on a hot summer day. I do wish the playground didn't use ground up tires as the bedding. There's been studies that show links to cancer to that. So we don't allow our kids to play on the playground there. But a fine place to play in the water!

A wonderful family day out. They have a boat dock, playground, and covered picnic tables and pavilions for family outings. Free for Montana residents who paid their parks fee on their license plates. The lake offers swimming and fishing.

There is a fee to get in and park. You can swim, eat a meal that you have brought, float in a watercraft, go hiking, or just sit back and relax

Came here to Lake Elmo to get in a few miles of running. The lake is one of the best places around Billings to have a mix of trail and well defined road with a scenic route around the lake. Not a lot of shade. The loop around the lake is an aprox 1.2 miles according to my Garmin Fenix 5 Sapphire. Strava Running links up on the northern parking lot near the boat docking station. Doesn't appear too many people use Strava app though. I always purchase the year permit, as it normally costs 5 per visit. A permit costs around 30ish and is easily used enough times in a year to cover the 5 dollar parking fee. Wildlife to see includes fish, turtles, ducks, geese (when around), foxes (seen once), and there are evidently deer since I've seen the tracks. Picnic tables, kids playground, BBQs, and a reserved covered area are all here as well. (There are two addresses for this location, one for the park, one for the ranger station).
