Reviews of City of Asheville John B Lewis Soccer Fields
Nice, well maintained, astroturf fields. Some of the best soccer fields in the area. There's a good bit of gravel parking but it can be difficult to park when it gets busy. Usually there is some overflow parking just south of the fields. Other things to note - river runs along the west side of the fields, if you kick your ball over there, there's a good chance it's gone. Also, due to the river, the fields are prone to flooding.
Fun place to play soccer! I’d give it a 4.5/5 simply because of location, which has two minor issues: parking lots can sometimes fill up, and balls often go into the nearby river. The first problem is a minor inconvenience, solved by parking in another nearby lot when necessary (I’ve never seen all of them fill up). The second issue happens a couple of times per game, but balls are rarely lost for good.
It was a cold morning at the soccer fields. The fields are fine, yet there is not enough parking.
It's a big place! You could take your kids or pets here to play ball or go for a jog. Has public restrooms that were being maintenance while we were there so I gotta say thank you for keeping them clean!!!
Great place to play with your kids. Or come to see other players 🙌😀 …
Love going here early morning to walk my hound. It’s quiet and pretty empty. Just stay off the fields and enjoy your walk by the river. I feel safe too since usually there’s Asheville employees working on the grounds.
Big complex. Limited parking for big tournaments but the turf fields were just replaced in July of 2017. Nice facilities.
Great fields, great location. But it needs some nets on the river side to prevent losing balls
Very nice place to play soccer, watch for the bears though!
Asheville is lucky to have such a large number of impeccable kept soccer fields.
Beautifully situated but the parking is insufficient and the artificial turf is showing its age.
Nice fields, just simply amazing
Always a fun time there especially if you’re into soccer. There’s also a park for the little ones.
Expansive soccer park with many, many fields and good walking paths all around to bring the dog, not to mention the river that cuts through it, When games are on, there's a concession and a washroom kiosk. Parking is limited
Northside Legends Masters Squad at the Blue Ridge Classic Lacrosse Tournament
Probably the nicest soccer field in the Asheville area. Multiple soccer fields with very even turf and good drainage so the field is always playable, even in the rain. During soccer season, the parking lots are frequently at capacity, and the overflow parking lot is a bit of a walk to the upper fields so plan to get there a little early. Park facilities include picnic tables; playground area; concession stand; restrooms; and drinking fountains.
Amazing Soccer Complex with heated restrooms. Complex also used for other sporting events. Hosts Region 3 games, College National Soccer Championships, second largest lacrosse tournament in the country. Has a nice playground centrally located. All parts of the complex has wheelchair accessibility.
Fantastic soccer fields. Great restroom and concession facilities. Nice playground for small kids. Next to the river which allows public fishing. Great spot to run laps.
Because of major flooding of Fr. BROAD in May, this beautiful area, with 4 great soccer fieldsl is covered with a film of soil- still a beautiful setting and a great place to walk..rolling terrain.
Womens bathroom had 2 rolls of toilet paper for 5 stalls. I toilet didn't flush and no hand soap. But the fields were nice.
Just enough shade for a hot Spring day. Great facility for soccer.
Very nice fields in a beautiful nested valley. We enjoyed visiting Asheville for a travel soccer game.
Very great 👍 played on these fields for over ten years. Still great. Wow …
All turf fields which are well maintained. Clean restrooms. The parking can get very crowded, but they have a large overflow parking area for busy days.
My husband LOVES to play futbol & we choose this park nestled in the GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS for our cardio&fun.
Four beautiful soccer fields, or eight, or sixteen. A treasure for soccer players.
The facility is very well maintained, with plenty of parking. The pitch has artificial turf and good drainage.
I love walking here. If you go some nights, you can just watch teams practice while enjoying the night air. Lots of happy memories from when I was younger.
When they are not flooded, the fields are just wonderful for local young people to enjoy friendship and getting outside for some exercise and sport.
It is a beautiful park and soccer complex. It has nice bathrooms and concession stand as well. Beautiful views and close to the WNC Nature Center.
Great complex if only the city of Asheville would stop dragging their feet and allow lights, wonder if biltmore lake development has anything to do with that
Fields were in amazing condition, bathrooms were not clean
So love this place! I understand we are in a pandemic, but it is time to open the bathrooms since youth sports are practicing there.
The changes to handle the traffic load have helped to get in and out more easily, but they still need more parking spaces.
Nice soccer complex, with not so good parking options. Has walking trails, and play ground. Clean restrooms.
Nice soccer fields and play area for kids
Beautiful venue for a lacrosse tournament! We truely enjoyed all the games and we look forward to coming back.
The upgrade to the fields are wonderful. I do wish that they would work on the running trail between the fields and river.
It's very well kept
Soccer Referee. Great field and night lights.
Felt like in middle of nowhere but great fields. Quiet and peaceful.
So many soccer fields and well maintained.
Beautiful awesome place to play soccer not only that but I built the roundabout and I'll the work at the bridge
Very nice soccer complex. Bring your own seats!
A well maintained park. Lots of parking.
Would give 5 stars if it wasn’t in a flood zone
Colder than the rest of Asheville this is a great place for our kids to grow up playing soccer!
Great Park for warm weather when it’s not under water.
Good field. The only thing is that the place is far away (it is scary at night cause it is in the middle of nothing)
Nature and quiet........walk along the lazy Swannona River......perfect for pets .....family's #1!!!!!!
Neat, nice fields and playground. Bathroom not so great...
Always a great place to go swim considering the " City of Asheville " has it open.
Easy to get around..well kept facility!
Great place with great fields. Fun all around
Great multi-use facility and new traffic pattern has helped tremendously.
