Reviews of Nockamixon State Park
Best park in Bucks County, with lots to do. You can fish, hunt, kayak, rent a boat or bring your own (20 mph max) they have lots of biking and hiking trails. The only downside about the park is that it can get very busy especially during the summer weekends.
Perfectly tucked away in a pleasant location. Beautiful Cabins by the lake with wonderful trails. Many people ride horses on the trail so you get to see that on top of the lovely views. Overall had a great weekend out of town.
This park is such a treasure! Clean, well maintained, and very popular for picnics, boating, kayaking, and more. Many picnic tables throughout the park with grills, all right by the water. Beautiful views, plenty of parking, and clean bathrooms make this a park worth visiting!
I love this late. It’s kept so clean and it’s extremely spacious. There’s so many camping areas, you never need to worry about not finding a picnic spot. It is a tough lake to fish, in my opinion.
I love it here it's peaceful it's relatively quiet. I thoroughly enjoy the 20 horsepower limit. Sometimes it gets a little hectic with the kayakers and paddle borders, There's nothing like it out there. The fishing is always spectacular there's always something biting.
I enjoyed the peacefulness of being out on this lake & seeing all the different things people do. I can't wait to try wind surfing! That looked really fun and it looked like the group of people were having a great day..
Tohickon Boat Launch is a fantastic spot to take out kayaks, boats, and other watercraft. This location has an ADA accessible launch and restroom facilities. There are plenty of picnic tables, and a shallow cove for launching paddle boards and kayaks. Lots of native birds to see, come enjoy a paddle!
Good time! July 30 was our first time checking out this local pool. $13 per person. It is a good size. Something for full spectrum of ages. All out of the pool while they run safety pool tests for about 1/2 hour (maybe twice a day). Decent shower house. Recommend BringYourOwnChairs or they had $5 lounge chair rentals.
I understand the no outside beverages and food since they offer a snack bar. But the offerings are very slim to the point many people go out to their car in the parking lot to "tailgate" for an adequate snack, lunch, and dinner. This leads to alot of garbage produced and unfortunately left on the ground by irresponsible people. Very sparse on waste receptacles too.
Beautiful lake! Different kind of shape being more long and skinny than round. We enjoyed kayaking out on the lake. Lots of areas with picnic tables and some grills spread out. Visitors center said it was closed on weekends but they did have maps and the passport stamp out front.
Beautiful day. Park is clean, there is a walking/bicycle path around the lake. Boating and Kyaking. Restrooms clean.
My favorite local trails. Please just be mindful after rainfall. These trails are maintained by a local volunteer group who put in a lot of work to keep these trails beautiful!
A very beautiful place. Not much to eat nearby but an amazing place for a picnic. About 20 to 25 mins away from French town which has many excellent places to dine, lunch etc
Nice walking and bike trail, boat launches, pool was closed, nice marina with sailboats and pontoons. Picnic tables next to lake. Free.. best bathroom is near the marina. Signage is not good at all until you actually get inside the park.
What a beautiful place, went here after a stop at Quakertown Farmer's Market. I like to visit there on Sunday's with my daughter, but I also like to take a nice walk, or hike on those days. Since I had some time I decided to Google waterfalls near me and it led me to this beautiful State Park. So peaceful, beautiful view, and a nice walk in the woods with my princess. The fall trees and the small waterfall made it all that more beautiful!
Rented a kayak. The process was quick and easy. Bring cash if you are interested in renting. Beautiful lake. Very clean.
Amazing park, i went with my family and we found 2 seashells, and best of all, it's free! I really do recommend the boats as well!
Launch permit for kayaking has to be picked up during the week Monday - Friday. Office not open yet on weekends as of April 21 2022.
$22.00 for a 2 year launch permit for a kayak.
Great park, nice quiet area with great accessibility to parking lot, picnic tables available and kayaks can be rented, bathrooms (portable potty) were horrible.
Loved this park! Nockamixon offers a great mix of paved walkways (we walked for an hour and there were more paths we didn't try), kayak and boat rentals, a marina and beautiful local wildlife. Many people were also setting up for the day at the many picnic tables and charcoal grills. I wish we lived closer!
Great Fishing. Boating. And Camping. Stayed in cabin 7. No lake path. Searched but didn't find one. Had to go to road and jump on trail. Took a little pool for kids to cool of in. Cabin #10 and #1 are the best cabins. And haycock boat launch is nice. Beautiful lake.
Nockamixon State Park is a gem in Bucks County PA.
With 5 full size boat launches and 1 non-motorized launch by the cabins, you have many ways to get your watercraft on the lake. This is also a very good sailboat lake and there is a sailing club that uses the park.
The park allows electric motors up to 20HP and the size of the lake allows them to operate comfortably with kayaks, motor boats, and canoes which are also rentable at the park.
Some boat launches are open 24 hours.
The Tohickon area is favored by wind surfers, paddle boarders and catamaran users and has a handicap access too.
I've seen some larger wooden fishing piers at other state parks, but the long, paved peninsula pier (see picture) is very unique. You can drive right up to your spot. There's also an ADA fishing platform in the Haycock area.
Lake Nockamixon is a warm water fishing lake.
There's also a children's fishing pond and a disc golf area at the east end of the marina.
There is no lake swimming allowed at Nockamixon, but the park has a large swimming pool.
You can hike any of nine hiking trails, the longest of which, 13.5 miles, is on the south side of the lake.
Nockamixon has large areas for horseback riding so dogs must be on leashes in this park. Areas for parking a horse trailer are at the end of Old Bethlehem Road, at the end of Elephant Road and off Mink Road.
A 10 mile mountain biking trail has been established on the east side of the lake off Tower Road and parts are challenging. A 2 mile paved trail for regular bikes starts in the main boating area. Picnic tables are numerous and scattered throughout the park. For a pavillion site, I liked area 5 for a large gathering (see picture). It has lots of parking, a big field for recreation, and is private. I also like tables in the Haycock area. Here the tables line the waterfront among the trees and you can watch so many people on the water.
The park has only 10 modern cabins on the south side of the lake with a non-motorized boat launch and playground. All other camping is available at several private establishments.
If you come by in winter, you can sled in the marina area, go cross country skiing or ice skate or ice fish if the lake freezes.
Hunting is allowed in certain sections in the hunting season.

Nice day for a ride. Went to Breast of the Dam.Coming up towards the end of summer the day was perfect . The big fish are starting to feed. Getting ready for the winter.
This is our second year camping in one of the modern cabins at Lake Nockamixon and we are already planning next year's trip. The cabins are clean and have a full kitchen and bathroom with shower. There are two bedroom cabins that sleep up to 6 and three bedroom cabins for up to 8 people. It is quiet and relaxing here in the woods. Looking forward to tonight's campfire.
Great park to explore with your family . Lots of different trails. My kids are 4 and 2 yrs old. They had a blast
BiIG BEAUTIFUL PARK 💕💕and they also have a swimming pool and boat rental and very big picnic area …
Beautiful lake. Nice trails and cute PA state park cabins. Great place to get away can't comment on the pool never got thete
Great park for outdoor activities, picnic, hiking, kayaking. We went for a bike ride, not so many bike friendly trails. But there is a kayak/boat rental for $20- $30 for an hour if you are into water activity. Overall, they have great view and very well maintained & organized by park rangers. The only downside was so many bugs or chicadas.
I love nature & Nocamixion offers a variety of outdoor fun. From paddle boats to swimming pool, grilling and a trail also. You can do a lot here. Unfortunately it does get crowded in picnic areas and the price for Pool access has steadily increased sometimes only using half the pool. Slides are not always open. Best feature in my opinion is the toddler and infant pool area.
Nice park. Went for a short hike. Looked at the lake.
This park has everything you can wish for from beautiful vistas, hiking trails, biking trails, boat and canoes rental , fishing and golfing. Visited the overflow overlook point and then headed to Marina. We had lunch by the beautiful lake on a sunny day enjoying gorgeous views of boats and canoes passing by on the lake. The spot was off the trail and pretty isolated. We will return to the park more prepared with bikes and fishing gears next time.
Beautiful state park with nice lake. Restrooms need some upkeep though. Cicadas were a nuisance during our visit but that shouldn't be a problem in few weeks time.
It's so beautiful here. My boyfriend and I drifted far out in the lake and had to be towed in by a passing pontoon but we were having such a great time on the water, we didn't even know that we were in distress. Great family park, with plenty to do. Clean. Pet friendly as well.
The Nock is a great place all year! Amazing in the summer for water sports, I’ve recently discovered the walking trail near the marina for winter walking. Seeing the water through the seasons is calming. For Pokémon fans, there are several stops & gyms along the way!
Amazing family day! We rented a kayak for 2and a half hrs for $65. We cooked on the grills that are provided. We cooked steak, pork chops and brought rice and beans, fruit, drinks, chips etc.The water was perfect and it wasn't overly crowded. Bring your entire family! Also it's always free to come, park and spend the day.
Great Lake for paddling as well as the park biking trails. Marina area gets crowded with boat traffic - stick to Haycock or 3 Mile launches if paddling. Rentals and paddle yoga from Miss Melanie Yoga
Beautiful park, amazing lake. The park has a rental facility for watercraft, which allowed my husband to rent a kayak at a reasonable price while I put in off the shore close by in my kayak. Absolutely beautiful! There are many areas for picnics, BBQs and more!
It's a great place to go you can cook on the outdoor grills or kayaking or fishing or bike ride on a really long trail, there are lake views everywhere and you can bring your dog or your grandma it's relaxing and fun for all the family. You will have a blast also, there is wowcow ice cream shop 5 minutes away from this lake, it's a win win.
What a wonderful place to hangout during summer. You can do kayaking, sail a ship or take/rent a boat and explore the lake. You can also take a walk along the trail. If you are interested in fishing, you have that option too. The views are good. There’s a park too where you can go for picnic and there’s a campground nearby. Suitable for kids too. No shops nearby so make sure you take everything you need. Overall, a good place for a perfect weekend.
Such a beautiful park to take your family. You can go boating, kayaking, fishing and swimming. There is plenty of shade on the paved trails to hike, go biking or a nice stroll. We loved the amount of several picnic tables under the trees as well as near the water. This place was perfect today.
Love every part of this huge park... love fishing, kayaking, grilling, have fun & spend time with family & friends... perfect for just chilling & relaxing💘 …
Camping is more fun than you think. Be prepared to battle bugs and mice in your rental cabin (bring raid or some sort of perimeter spray as well as a mouse trap or two if you plan to stay a few days) but once you get the lay of the land, you will be happy. Obviously, the kids enjoyed the pool the most, but the beautiful vistas, fair prices and total separation from the city's fast pace will make adults feel great. The Mountain Store makes great breakfast sandwiches. 😍😍💯💯
A beautiful, well maintained lake & park. Lots of room for plenty of water vessels and good fishing. There are trails, picnic areas, scenic views, boat rentals and more. It's a really nice place for warm weather fun.
Clean and calm park. Most bathrooms are clean except few! Very safe park. No food or rental services were available due to COVID.
It's always a fantastic time on the water at Nockamixon. We head to the main park or to Haycock to launch and spend the day. There is usually a lot of room out on the water but the parking lots and picnic areas can get pretty packed on weekends and big holidays.
Great park, friendly and helpful staff. There are many covid friendly things to do there including hiking, nature walks etc., there are trails, Marina's and docks -all drive up or walkable by trail. Great PA park to visit.
So peaceful. The lake was calm and beautiful. There were a lot of people, but it didn't feel crowded. The girls in the boat rental station were very friendly, and went out of their way to be helpful. The park rangers were all super helpful. There was a nice pool, and great hiking. The only issue I had was that I really wanted to go horseback riding, but I couldn't find anywhere that offered the trail rides. The place that was advertised, Haycock Stables, has apparently shut down, but we didnt know that until we got there. We camped close by at Serene Horse Farm, and they offered lessons, but we couldnt ride the horses in the park. Besides that, had a great time. It was secluded enough to feel cut off from the city, but had enough within a 20 minute drive to find anything you might need. We will be back!!
With magnificent views from every angle, this state park is a photographer's dreamscape! In addition to the many hiking trails and sublime scenery, there is also a Recreation Center which features a zero-entry pool and plenty of space for picnicking and relaxation. Be sure to hit the Marina where sailboats set sail from and paddleboating & kayaking rentals are available! Licensed fishermen are welcome to visit the nearby Fishing Pier where a boat slip is available too! It's the most AWESOME state park in Upper Bucks County! See you there! :)
Great place to Kayak for beginner and experienced, easy in and out of both the water and park. There is no swimming allowed but the boosting and fishing is awesome.
You can tell this park is well maintained and taken care of. Lots of bike trails, a community pool, fishing lake, boat launch & marina. Definitly a nice day out.
Great place to go kayaking, relaxing and peaceful. The park caps the HP of motor boats to 20HP, perfect for kayakers, canoes, sailboats and paddle boarders. There is a marina. There are also multiple launch ramps. The Three Mile Rd ramp is perfect for kayakers.
Beautiful place to go. Even more so at night shhh they close at dusk but there is on part that's open till 11pm. If you want to start your day on a positive note or feel like something romantic with that special someone go watch the sun rise.
Took some inflatable kayaks out on the lake with the family and had a great time!
Great water for kayaks, canoes, or paddle boards.
Great place for a day trip peaceful with lots of choices for all adventures from hiking boating biking fishing bird watching and relaxing.
Love to fish here, my son always catches something. The grounds are beautifully maintained. There are quite a good amount of snakes though so you have to keep an eye out.
Check out this awesome bike/walking trail called jaywalk.
Great place for a hike, bike, picnic or just relaxing.
Beautiful lake!! Definitely recommend renting a kayak or bringing your own and going out there.
Every November we have a cabin here. The changing colors of the trees along the lake are simply stunning.
We love this place. Just came back from cabins. It was great.
Beautiful park...tons of fun for the kids...has boat rentals ...a marina for sailing boats. Really nice pickin Grove..also mountain bike trails
Great place to picnic, fish from land or boat, go for a nice scenic walk, go Kayaking, etc. If you don't own a boat, you can rent one right at the lake. There is a place here swim as well even though we never swam. The lake is huge and the the area is clean and beautiful! My family and I love going to Nockamixon.
Great park. Peaceful and very well taken care of. Rent a boat or kayak for the day and see the lake from another angle.
This park is spectacular, so much beautiful spaces!!!
WRONG ADDRESS on iPhone maps. Type
1542 Mountain View dr and you’ll get there.
All in all it’s a very nice and clean park, pets are aloud with a leash. fishing spots, picnic and bbq areas (you just need charcoal), bicycle and walking paths, signs, a lot of free parking. No vending machines or kiosks so get everything you need. There’s WAWA few miles away.
If you love water but hate people, this is the spot for you. Small enough to have fun, big enough get away from your stupid Aunt Carol and her deflated inflatable paddle board and annoying dog.
Has something for everyone. Kiddie fishing lake, playground, pool. Picnicking, boating, fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding. Plenty of wildlife.
Marina building open weekends. Nature center open weekdays.
Restrooms, benches at scenic places, trash cans.
Beautiful lake! Lots of parking and places to sit. Really nice trails.
Love it,nice place for picnic. Boat rentals are available till 4.30.Good/ ample parking spaces.Park in lot 1 or 2 closest to the lake
A good spot for spending a day at the lake, you can rent a canoe or a kayak and get your fishing rods and probably a bbq. Family friendly with plenty of parking space.
Great park, beautiful landscape and lake! Abundance of avian wildlife!
I'm sorry that the dive bombing bugs forced me to give a 3 star rating. Never been some place that had such vicious bugs! Take a pack of aromatic stogies along to keep them away. The picturesque spillway is by far the coolest spillway I have ever encountered. We hiked the high Bridge Trail which was not too bad no significant elevation gain's we turned around at the hostel.
Most beautiful colorful tree over the water. If you don't believe it was created...when you see the sun set over the water you know it was
If you are looking for an outdoor or water adventure, this is a great state park.
You have various accessible hiking trails and boat launches for paddleboarding, kayaking, or canoeing.
Want to stay dry and on land -- no problem, there are some areas where you can have a picnic and hang out.
Their restrooms are well taken care of.
Beautiful trails and lake nice and clean . I look forward to seeing this place come spring and summer !
Nice park and lake...
For people with overly loud music...not everyone wants to hear it
Beautiful Park with tons of trails a gorgeous lake to Kayak and Stand up paddleboarding. Also a great fishing lake.
Beautiful deer 🦌 playing. Sailboats ⛵️ in the lake 💧 …
Simply the BEST! We love to picnic near the water and hike around the "waterfall". Clean bathrooms with handicapped accessibility.
Beautiful park. Limited horse power on the lake makes the fishing more enjoyable. The boat lanch and parking situation are great.
It was a beautiful park with a nice lake.
Beautiful place for mountain biking. If you park at the Tower rd lot, you can get to the trails easily. There are quite a few different environments, from closed in trees, to green meadows, to lake side trails. I would recommend bringing an extra tube for your tire as there are large areas with jagged rocks that could get you flat.
Love this park. We go frequently with our dog. Love the marina area and walk out to the point and enjoy sitting and watch the boats. We then walk one of the shorter trails and its just a nice clean park.
The state park is beautiful and have 3 4 trails alongside the lake. You can also enjoy boating rentals but it closes at 6 and the last rental is at 5pm. Carry snacks alongwith you because there are no eating places nearby. Overall good place to spend 4 5 hours.
It doesn't get better than this. Hiking fishing swimming camping hunting. All the outdoor activities your looking for. All in one place. Wildlife and plantlife for all to enjoy. These pictures were taken off of mink trail. Go and enjoy this wonderful place
That’s the best park ever I love it since I discovered it and all my friends actually loved it , I’m amazed with this place
Great family park, with a large marina available. There is a 20hp limit on motors, but no limit on boat size so there are a large number of sail boats in the marina and on the lake. There are grills, tables and picnic areas as well.
A great place, so peaceful.
A beautiful lake and park. Lots to do! Bike trails, horse riding paths, boat rentals, pool, fishing and other water sports. Picnic areas everywhere! Cabins to rent! Fishing piers. Marina and more!
Amazing mountain biking trails!! Very well designed and maintained. Had a blast. Can't wait until they reopen in the Spring!
Great park,Family friendly, trails, fishing, boating (b.y.o.boat or rent one)and they have an amazing swimming pool (life guards on duty)with water slides that only go up to 4'7". $8.00 per person per day during the week. After 4pm the price is $4.00 per person. $10.00 per person weekends $5.00 after 5pm open until 7pm for the pool.
Gorgeous wilderness, well maintained and marked trails. The Old Mill Trail gives a nice mix of trees, streams, grassland, and the lake. Careful on the rocks if you cross that stream! And watch out for horse droppings.
Nockamixon is such a beautiful park! I've come here for mountain biking, and it is really enjoyable. No matter what you come here for, you are sure to enjoy the beautiful woods and lake.
First time coming to this park ! It’s lovely
There’s tables , built in grills ( need to be cleaned before you cook if you want to use it ). There’s bathrooms in certain areas of the park . Wonderful view you’ll love it when you come to visit.
Great park all around, great for bikes, boats and park even has a swimming pool, great place for the whole family, my kids love fishing here.
Beautiful park, I went to the pool and they cleared out the pool within 30 minutes of swimming....the water was contaminated by “some kids” and they closed the pool for the rest of the day! Just bad luck with all of the kids, and I sadly didn’t receive a refund......
Wonderful large family oriented lake. Great for fishing kayaking SUP and motor boats.
Very beautiful and peaceful nature to enjoy
Love this state park. Every time we go there spend good time. Perfect day out for all ages people.
Not much going on there now mainly fishing , hiking and some photography but it's the place to be the other 3 seasons of the year. A pool, frisbee golf, boat rentals etc
There's plenty of things to do at Lake Nockamixon. You can camp, picnic, hike, bike, fish; the list goes on. One of my favorite things to do here is Kayak. Bring your own or rent one at the lake itself. You can spend just a few hours paddling around the lake and you'll see a multitude of wildlife. Eagles, hawks, osprey, heron, turtles, frogs, snakes, deer, fox, to name a few. Lake Nockamixon is the escape to nature you're looking for without having to go to far from civilization.
As always, if you bring it in, take it out! Please keep the park clean!
Great walking biking or hiking trails available at this state park. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
What a lovely park! It's a nice day tripper destination and we'll be looking forward to an stay in a cabin.
Nockamixon is a quaint park that is quiet and a perfect place to get away. There are several parking lots along the park where you can settle in then potentially follow the trails for a nice scenic walk through the park. I'd definitely recommend stopping in around fall time as the changing of the leaves is a beautiful sight to behold.
The Haycock Mtn Trail is a blast. Lots to do there, highly recommend.
Very nice, big, nature scenic state park. Feels refreshing and the lake makes it perfect to spend an summer evening on banks on lake.
Nice area, unloading on the boat dock is a bit busy. Overall not a bad lake to paddle in. The lake itself is nice and long for an adventure. There are bathrooms available on site and plenty of parking. Only thing I'm still a bit sore on is that I lost my sunglasses to the lake 😢 …
A beautiful well maintained state park great for boaring of all types and hiking.
Check it out if your in the area.
I never knew this park had waterfalls.
Beautiful clean lake, smaller boat motors only, hiking trails.
One of the best local lake parks in the area. Tons of access point with open lawns for large gatherings. Pavilions and picnic tables are scattered throughout the park. Only 9.9hp and smaller boats allowed on the water. Plenty of parking and multiple boat launches.
Nice park with plenty of pavilions.
Sunshine blue skies beautiful trails
Had an amazing time kayaking in super blue lake. Great place for 4-5 hours of relaxing with nature.
Nothing spectacular, but still a very nice park. Bring bug spray... don't forget your kayak if you own one.
Beautiful, clean, lots of birds to see and fish to catch. Pack umbrellas and sunscreen to stay out of the sun bc the tree shade spots go fast. Sadly, the group I was with only stayed an hour and I was prepared to stay for hours. Definitely going back very soon.
Amazing little "beach" area though there many people playing loud music on speakers which is annoying. They have charcoal grills and kids can wade all day in the water. Fishing pier is a great place to troll and the drop off is deep!
Beautiful place for a hike.
Great place to go I went for a family reunion and the pool is big and is for all ages. I would visit again. The pool cost $ 12.00. A lot of parking space
I just love the view of Lake Nockamixon from the fishing pier. There are some beautiful sunsets there too!
The entire park is nice. There's a walking/bicycle path through the woods, picnic areas, swimming pool, fishing areas, marina, etc.
If you've never been to Nockamixon State Park, you should definitely check it out.
Great place for any outdoor activity you can think of kayaking biking hiking picnic with the family nice walks with great views..... I have friends that fish there and enjoy it and a friend that keeps his boat there this place has a little bit everything
Nockamixion is a beautiful park I grew up spending a lot of my younger years there!! I absolutely love taking pictures ,Stunning view
This is a great local park to fish, swim (swimming pool), kayaking, sailing, biking, and much More! Would have loved to fly my drone to capture nice arial view of the lake and state park; however, the NFZ restriction kept me grounded. I'll have to look into authorization.
Absolutely breathtaking view. Great for relaxation and activities such as boating, biking, hiking. Ont thing super inconvenient was their restroom, bring your own soap and toilet paper.
Beautiful park. Nice place to watch sunrise. Good spot for kayaking and if you own a boat, it’s the right one. Fishing is also available.
The park is huge and it has a lot of activities to do such as fishing, hiking, camping, swimming pool, and others.
Great place also worth the drive for 50 minutes from center city
I enjoy the lake swimming or with boat
Large lake allows for many activities for many people. The parking is open and the boat ramp is very accessible.
Very clean, nice, quiet lake with fishing, trails, etc. Be aware of the signs stating this is hunting season in the park..
Beautiful place. Has an adaptive kayak and canoe ramp.
Great place to relax, and make a barbecue with family and friends
Found difficulty in locating pedal boat ticketing location. The parking there was insufficient and found it was full. There was no convenient way to reach back once you park at another location, no direction markers . Surprisingly the ticket was Cash only, very inconvenient .
God's presence is so evident there it is so peaceful and so beautiful worshipping God in his presence gives me great serenity
Great place to hang out whether you’re hiking, biking, or boating. Went kayaking with some friends for 1hr, ~$25 total, definitely worth it
We had a great stay at the cabin. Did a bunch of kayaking. And walked a lot of nice trails. Very beautiful area.
Always nice to see the lake.and walk a few miles👍 …
This is the 3rd time we've stayed at Nockamixon cabins over Christmas. I think the cabins are really nice. They are very roomy and clean. The scenery is beautiful. The cabins are in the woods, right next to the lake. It's so quiet and no one bothers you. Outside they have a fire pit and a covered porch. Inside is a full kitchen and a living room with plenty of seating. We have 3 generations that get together there on Christmas day and we all love it.
My favorite local park. Beautiful marina & great trails.
Rent boats/ kayaks. Swim in the lake or the pool. Great walking and biking trails.
Had a great day on the lake of this beautiful park I totally recommend a day here !
The park was clean and appeared well kempt in the picnic areas. I absolutely love it here!
Beautiful park don't understand why there is no swimming.
Great lake with lots of room to kayak and plenty of wildlife to photograph
Great 5,000 acre + park! Come back here year after year, just to relax here! Beautiful place!!
Wow 1st time seeing cicadas - awesome experience
Absolutely beautiful! It's a great place to spend the day with the family. They have a great pool that is aimed at family fun. It's a definite must see park.
Been fishing here for years just because it's fairly close. It's been packed since the 'rona came to town but you can still find shore fishing spots. Only thing we caught last week was the same bluegill twice ha! I caught that fish and the wife caught that stick!
What a great way to spend a quiet week day off. There weren’t many people and the scenery was amazing!
I go to the disc golf course, it's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.
Had to check out the falls after hurricane IDA . Park is always nice but amazing show after soo much rain.
Great place to bring a canoe, kayak or sup. People are usually helpful and friendly. The dog loves riding around in the boat. Nice for picnicking too.
These cabins are great, can easily accommodate a family of 6, if your kids can sleep on bunk bed, o queen bed and two bunkers, make sure you bring your bed sheets and blankets, sleep bags etc they have an oven stove, microwave, refrigerator, hot water for sink and bathroom, a table in the kitchen, an armchair and sofa couch, outside you have a fire ring, another barbecur, and a table. Plenty of space for parking, you are in woods.
This park has a beautiful view of the lake and a very pleasant alongside it making it perfect for afternoon walks!
Very peaceful and enjoyable. I would give them 5 Stars. Unfortunately there seems to be too many people who allow their dogs to be without a leash.
Such a beautiful serene lake. Miles of trails. Great family time!
Enjoyed having a BBQ with the family and had a blast using the Kayaks that were available to rent. Will definitely plan another trip.
This place reminds me of how beautiful Pennsylvania really is. I've spent my whole life coming here. Not so recently to discover as many trails as possible. Only recently discovered Haycock mountain. Let me tell you, that's some Incredible Boulderage going on! Everytime I go there's some hidden beauty. Also isn't far from the Philly burbs!
Love this park! I paddle board there and go regularly for sunsets.
Beautiful large lake with cool rocks and wonderful wildlife like birds, geese and plants. Good for biking, fishing, boating, picnics, ect.
Good times, enjoyable activities available, and the staff were both informed, interesting, as well as seemingly genuinely interested in making sure everyone was well looked after
Nice park to take your kids, the pool was great and clean area right along with the grill area. There also that can be done which we didnt do much of.
Absolutely love Nickamixon State Park. Not far, plenty of parking, awesome pool area, awesome picnic areas and friendly staff and good security you actually see riding around very often!!!! Restrooms need help!
We went biking on the bike paths and had a wonderful time! The paths were so great for a brisk but sunny January day!
Big beautiful pool, lots of room, clean.
Cons: bathrooms are gross & snack stand was out of almost everything
A delightful green space with trails surrounding the park. I recommend bringing your own water vessel in order to get out onto the water.
Beautiful park. We love kayaking there. Awesome biking and hiking trails.
Beautiful park with Lake Nockamixon, a swimming pool, trails and picnic facilities. There was a lot of trash/litter on the day we were there.
Hiked the high bridge trail. Really nice trail. If you're going to hike here, please take your garbage with you. Please don't throw cans and cups and papers on the ground. Keep this place beautiful.
Great lake for some water sports 💧 …
Haycock boat launch leads to a beautiful area with Lily pads on both sides. Usually see, blue Heron, Cormorants...
We stayed in a cabin at Nockamixon State Park and it was a great experience! Easy check in and out. Very clean. Bathroom was large, clean and the shower appeared to be new. It had 3 bedrooms with one double bed and 5 bunk beds between them. The kitchen and living room were spacious with plenty of seating. Also, there's a nice covered porch. The only negative was no air conditioning in a very humid environment and no walking access to the lake or trails.
Sunrise Easter Service at the lake is the best Easter Service you can ever have.
I absolutely love this place the only thing is your not allowed to swim in it. Even if theirs no boats or jet skis or paddle boads out in the water I don't see the harm in allowing the kids to stay close not far out to the water. I've seen so many kids go from 100 to -0 😟 . Especially on hot days. Not a lot of people can afford pool passes and adventure parks. Other than that very peaceful and if the park isn't busy they still get told but again their park their rules.
Nice trails, excellent lake, haven't tried the swimming pool it's $10 for pa residents this year.
Nice big park. Alot of outdoor activities! We went for kayaking!
Beautiful, well maintained marina. Cute, quiet fishing pond with a single, tame goose. He even let people pet him.
We stayed the week in one of the modern cabins. It was only a 15 minute drive from anything you'd need and was really reasonablely priced. Church Trail ran right next to us and there was easy access to the lake.
One of my favorite places to go! I love the peacefulness and tranquility I have when I’m out in the lake in my kayak enjoying the splendor of nature all around me. Best part of my days are when I get to see the numerous Bald Eagles, and Ospreys hunting. My only reason for not giving it a 5 star rating is due to them getting rid of Pontoon rentals. That was the only way my Mom was able to enjoy the lake. Bring it back!!!
Not worth fishing from shore. Only decent if you're in a boat. However, the beauty of this scenery in the fall is perfect! Best time of the year to visit and I can recommend fishing for catfish at the back of the dam.
Beautiful lake to bike around and also row my scull in
The air is so much cleaner the place is beautiful there's no pressure. I love listening to the different sounds of nature.
Very nice park. Well maintained even in the off-season.
This place is so beautiful. There is an amazing picnic area, an enormous lake for fishing and boating, trails for hiking. This place is awesome
Lovely and clean lake. Not too crowded, even on a holiday.
Best camping experience to date. I am already coming back this year and can't wait to make it a tradition! We saw a snowy white owl the first night. So beautiful and majestic! The trails and views are fantastic. Absolutely love this place.
Wonderful views walking around the lake
Was a beautiful day and there were very pretty areas but it was incredibly muddy. We still had fun but mud was up over my boots in many places and hard to get around due to thorny bushes. For back story it hasn't rained in a few days and was sunny. If you can wear high waterproof boots it's good to go, but for a family of 4 it proved to be rather challenging, especially for our 9 year old! The trail itself is flat and fairly clear.
Kayaking through sunset was unbelievable. I recommend this place to everyone!
The park is very clean and well kept. There are long walking trails that you can go on with great views of the lake. I would caution that the park does not fully open until April 1st so if you go before that some of the resources, like parking, are not fully available.
Great place to take your dog and have a picnic. Very clean bathrooms as well.
Peaceful and absolutely beautiful. My husband and I come here often.
Beautiful clean park. We go fishing here, hit or miss on the fishing but the scenery is always spectacular.
So fun! 20 bucks for an hour of kayaking, I'll take it!!
What a beautiful place! The weather was amazing and we saw some awesome birds like herons and egrets! My only issue would be that we went to an out of the way bathroom and there was no soap or towels of any kind and with covid being so prevalent, I really wanted to wash my hands.
One of my favorite nearby state parks. Beautiful pool with kiddy pool side and fountain area. Unfortunately, the pool is closed this summer 2021. Great picnic and grilling areas, walking, biking, and hiking trails, the lake, kayak rentals, marina, cabins. Perfect place to spend a few hours or the entire day!
Great place to kayak, check out my videos on YouTube.
Nice park for biking, hiking and kayaking.
Beautiful lake. Lots of boat launches, amenities, pool, places to fish, and a Marina.
It's a beautiful lake. I mostly got there to go fishing at night. There are some monster fish in there
It was so beautiful here. I would love to go again
So calm and praceful. We LOVE going there to kayaak!! Never a let down 😁 …
Beautiful place with calm lake. Never overcrowded. Excellent scenery. Well maintained and easy to follow the pathways. Reasonable prices for canoe and kayak rentals. If you want to reserve a cabin, it must be done nearly a year in advance.
It was a beautiful atmosphere and clean but we wanted a picnic table at the marina so we could eat lunch, and people were laying on them to nap.
Awesome lake. Wildlife is amazing. Great area for picnics, fishing, and disc golf
Had a fun evening with a small barbecue and some fun photos. Nice little spot close to home for a chill evening with friends and family
Had a great bunch of really nice people in the park I thought. If you're friendly while you're here you'd never believe the connections that can occur! Gorgeous Park was packed with kayakers Sunfish sailboats, fishing boats, row boats, people picnicking and photographing an incredible property that's quite pristine!
Great park for paddling sports, there are nice running / hiking trails. You can fish the lake. And the wild life is great. I prefer early mornings when it's not as busy.
Gorgeous! The trail was a bit squelchy, but that's on me for going the day after it rained.
Great park with lots of different areas to explore. If you like walking trails, kayaking, horseback riding or fishing your covered. Be sure and check out some of the areas away from the main harbor and boat launch to get away from the crowds in the really nice days
Elephant trail is a great easy trail for kids.
We live right down the street, we don't go as often as I would like but it's a nice park to go to for a quick picnic and a walk and feed the huge fish, and plenty of room for my kids to run around. Also the path is paved which is great for them to ride their bikes. All around a great place to spend the afternoon for free and spend quality time together.
Always a beautifully kept clean park but the pool is not open and when it is there's no where to swim due to lap lanes and keeping half closed off
Local treasure for sure. The lake is bigger than you think, and has more to do than you’d imagine. Even if you don’t rent a boat, you can enjoy the hiking and top notch, curated mountain biking trails, or go up the street and grab a paddle board or kayak and head under the bridge and into the lillypads.
Great place to windsurf, sail, fish & and picnic.
Great place to fish and relax and enjoy yourself swimming pool is available for $13.00 for adults.
i’m reviewing for the mountain bike trails,
The trail have very nice flow and are well maintained. Be cautious of the creek crossings and some narrow spots because of trees.
Awesome place for hiking, biking, fishing camping, boating. Kid friendly, old folks friendly.
Such a beautiful area. Great place if you just want to sit and enjoy the lake watch the people out on the lake with there boats. Or if you just want to walk your dog along the lake. It's also great to see some interesting birds out there on the water as well. If a picnic you want then there are benches just for that as well.
This place is amazing, there's actually a fishing place that closes late night go visite you will love it.
One of the nicest most serene lakes in the state.
Great park for a walk, bike ride, or just enjoying the view. I like going out on the fishing pier and watching the water. Trails can get muddy so boots are recommended if you are hiking.
Good and peaceful and everyone is respectful and good to take your kids to climb trees like me and multiple boat to ride
It’s a wonderful park with cozy cabins and a beautiful lake!
Beautiful area, love the walking path
Beautiful moonlit night on the lake. Very clean and well kept.
Man made reservoir. Army Corps of Engineers. You'll find many of these government project parks. They look very similar. Beware, it gets very busy on nice days.
Had a great experience with LL Bean Outdoor Experience and their nighttime SUP course. Thanks Melissa and Mandie!
Beautiful Park. I like to go and take scenic pictures.
A beautiful park, even in the winter. The lake is really nice and the trails are a good level. A lot of bikers, though.
Great park! I generally use it for mountain biking because there are 10 miles of maintained trails. Great lake for kayaking also! It has many coves with a decent amount of wild life for excitement. As a child I spent many weekends at their pool. Very clean and beautiful. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to hike, bike, or yak
Great place to kayak. Restrooms by launch site. Osprey (white breast) launched off of tree and dove into water very close to our kayaks for supper. Didn't see any fish in his claws so he missed. Saw several Great Hurons (grey, skinny curved long necks) fly 3' above the water. Beautiful sunset while out on the water.
Good park for boating activities. Swimming is technically prohibited but I've seen many people swimming off of the shores by the boat launch, swimming off of their boats, and swimming off of some popular cliff jumping areas or adjacent to hiking trails. The no swimming rule doesn't seem to be enforced.
The Old Mill Trail is extremely confusing and poorly marked. Some of the other trails within the park are a bit better to follow. I would recommend picking up a map at the park office before you do any hiking.
The lake is huge and it gets pretty windy. It's easy to get pushed around when paddling.
Overall, it is a nice park with many recreation opportunities. Plenty of parking in various areas throughout the park.
Nockamixon state park is such a beautiful yet local place to get away for the day! Boat/kayak rentals are extremely reasonable prices, the water is clean, and the rental management works wonderfully to provide the public with a great time. Highly recommend coming here to the park, particularly the boat marina area! 😊🛶 …
This is a good size lake for boats with small motors and not too large to take a kayak or a small fishing boat out on. They offer boat rentals, boat docking and plenty of surrounding picnic areas to enjoy for the experience. The area is kept clean and has public bathrooms. The park also has a nice even paved path for biking or perhaps a nice romantic walk. They also have a marina and Nature Center. Camping is available and boating overnight is allowed.
Beautiful park with many areas for you to barbecue and have a nice picnic. The lake is beautiful they have rentals for kayaks and stand up paddle boards reasonable prices. It also has a pool what's a nominal $10 fee you can enjoy the pool and the water slide for the day they have concessions and supply shaded as well as Sunny areas for you to lounge
Beautiful park and very nice rangers! We had a truck gathering in memory of my 20-yo son who was killed in a car accident a year ago. The staff was super accommodating and very kind. We and the kids love this park!
I'd heard about this park before but hadn't gotten a chance to visit, and we decided to check it out one afternoon after berry picking nearby. It's definitely a big lake, and it's nice that there are lots of areas that overlook it, including a picnic area right near the boat rental area.
Another nice thing about their picnic area is that the tables are pretty far apart, so with different parties going on, they didn't get into each other's way. I don't know if that's a more recent development since COVID, but I thought that was nice. I'd like to visit again and maybe walk around more!
Went kayaking with my daughter today and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The staff member Emily was super nice and extremely welcoming. Everything was clean and ready to go. Facilities were being cleaned as well. If you are looking for a place to go kayaking with your family - this is the place to go!
Enjoyed our visit.
I was there when visiting from the south took kids an family over 15 yrs ago alot has changed but its still beautiful an great for outdoors excursiones. As well as family gathering. Never go alone always tell someone when going the park its safe but times have change,ty to all park members for having us.
Beautiful, scenic, kayaking, picking, walking, photography, fishing, dog friendly
Fantastic hiking in the Sterner Mill Hiking Area trails.
Love it here. This is where I took my babies for walls! Now we love it for paddleboarding.
Fun place for the entry level rider to learn how to ride mountain bikes but also a great place for seasoned riders too! Fast and flowy!
Great walking trails that are dog friendly.
Nice sized lake that is far longer than it is wide. The bathrooms are clean and maintained. There are plenty of trails that even after years of visiting I still discover nore of them. There is great fishing primarily bass but hybrid strippers and husky can be caught too. It should be noted that motors over 25 horsepower are not permitted so water sports are not recommended. There is also a brand new pool that has opened and is surprisingly isolated yet well integrated into the park.
Good hiking places. Quite challenging.
Went there to Celebrate a dear friend who passed away. Beautiful park but the rangers on duty were a little nasty. We had pavilion 1 reserved & wanted to play music. We were told it couldn't be done on that day. When we reserved for that spot & day, we were never told!! We had a DJcome out who donated his time. He could've been doing a job & lost out.
Just a super awesome place, calm serene and beautiful. Had a great time here with family and friends. Perfect weather certainly helped, we spent the entire day there. Definitely need a boat or a canoe for extra fun. Perfect local getaway for the surrounding area residents and worth traveling for those from distance.
I like this park alot. I rented and paddle board with Melanie and I had a ton of fun on the water, supper relaxing for the first time in years I felt some real decompression. Will definitely be coming back
Had a decent stay here for a mini getaway in the woods. My biggest complaint was that the smell inside the cabin. The outdoors were perfect and the water was beautiful. The playgrounds were decent for those who have children. My family enjoyed themselves so I probably would go back and just put up with the smell.
Beautiful, quiet, and calm place. Very clean and well maintained. A great place to go for paddle boarding, kayaking, etc. There's lots of birds to watch and aquatic plants. I love coming here.
Beautiful lake , perfect for a summers day sail.
Beautiful park with an incredibly large lake. Good for any kind of boating or kayaking. Plenty of equipment for bbqing and relaxing with amenities. Only complaint is it can get crouded and loud easily on nice days. Public music is aloud and can sometimes ruin the tranquility.
Went for the sunrise, was beautiful!
Fabulous blacktop walking or biking trail with countless scenic views of the lake! Start at the Marina and walk til the end and back. About a mile each way; shaded in sections, past the boat rental area, large picnic and barbecue section, fishing pier to the first mill. There is a also a nice hiking area through the woods, crossing a small stream that starts at the gristmill & loops around to end there. Many spots for great pics!
There are nice bike trails as well as walking trails through the woods. Multiple bathrooms along the bike trails.
Though we travelled for a bit(1 hour and 45 min.) This place was so well worth it! You pay a small fee to go to the swimming pool. You get to enjoy the crystal clear water, slides and a small child, water playground. You pay nothing to to enter the park itself, Bri g food for a cookout there are tables and grills available. Come have fun in a safe secluded environment.
This place has great Mtb trails, fun medium rolling, nothing extremely difficult
Beautiful views and a place that you can relax
This park is wonderful for having picnics and watching the boats go by. Also the lake is amazing for kayaking on, so vast and not super duper busy. We had a great day here. Great to bring friends and family.
The boat rental was priced reasonably and the staff were very polite and friendly! Had a great time on lake. The quarry trail was average. Very hidden and had some spider webs blocking the road.
Oh yes one of friend he says next Sunday we are visiting again but another table... kids & even we enjoyed.. but yes paddling boats were not working properly..check before you hoop in..
I went to the spillway to see how heavy it was flowing because we had gotten a lot of rain. The flow was quite heavy and I posted pictures of it and video as well. The tohicken creek which continues as it leaves the nockamixon spillway was also very high
Beautiful park. Gorgeous pool that is quite large. Nice playground. Big, clean lake. Tons of activities to do. Overall it is amazing and filled with senic areas. One of the nicest places to go for some outdoor family fun.
Very beautiful state park with plenty of stuff to do. You can choose between fishing the lake or a smaller fishing pond. You can boat, hike, play disc golf, and so much more. There are places to go camping. All in all, it is a great place to get away.
Great park to enjoy with family an friends. A soccer and basket field should have been added in there
Always a beautiful place to go for peace
Beautiful park especially when the leaves are changing! cleanest camping cabin ive ever stayed in and our stay was perfect and peaceful. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful park with pool, grills, restrooms...nice place.
Spent an incredible day kayaking here. Clearly defined trails and clean facilities. Family friendly and safe. Good for running biking kayaking and grilling. Lots of open silent space with nature out on the water. Treat yourself
Wonderful family park for fishing, paddleboarding, kayaking, trail walking, biking, and picnicking. We have many events here because it is just so easy and beautiful. You can rent kayaks i think... but we bring our own. We also sometimes park the RV for convenience.
Rane the MTB trails early before it got busy and great trails and views in this section. When running this section be aware of bikes moving fast. Also beware and always wear orange in this park as there are many hunting areas.
This park is amazing. So much to do! It's a slow motor lake which makes it great to sail and cruise around. Fishing is decent and plenty to do in the park. Disc golf, trails for hiking and biking, plus rentals and just a great atmosphere.
Beautiful spot. Nice parkland and great area fir a day sail.
Beautiful glimpses of nature not seen every day. Very large lake accommodates electric motor boats; moreover, I highly recommend that you carry an extra battery and oars. On the lake, the world fades away. Quite relaxing. Stop onshore for a picnic lunch. I caught gorgeous photos despite my cheaper camera and lack of skills.
Went on the church trail. Decent workout. Keeps you on your toes with all of the roots and some muddy patches. But great to be outdoors with nature. Spotted a rabbit, frogs, hawks, butterflies, and lots of deer tracks. Definitely need hiking boots and water.
I grew up going here and it’s so peaceful. I love going there with my own family. There are trails and boat docks, restrooms throughout. Over all, it’s definitely a great place to visit.
We love being by the water. It is fairly accessible except for the bathrooms. At the Tohickon Boat Access they have put in an accessible kayak launch. It looks like it will be best suitable for a para not a quad. But a quad could use it with assistance.
We live where others come to play ! So beautiful! Lots of trails to run, hike, walk & bike! Rent paddle boats or bring your own. Relax or swim by the pool..... large concession area, or bring your own.....& plenty of places to eat & drink in the area.
We love to walk the trails, talk to the fishing men, women and children in all seasons. Autumn is especially beautiful with all the brightly colored leaves and clear lake water.
We have enjoyed sitting on on chairs by the edge of the lake in the evening and also family picnics in the groves.
BEAUTIFUL PARK!! LOTS TO DO!! WOULD RECOMMEND TO ALL!!
First time there
Huge lake, plenty of picnic tables and grills
Great place for families
Great place to spend the day with family. Although now they do safety check wvwey hour and a half
It's a nice place for boating, but it's pretty popular so don't expect isolation. There are at least three boat launches...one at either end and one in the middle. You can kayak there but the whole lake permits wakes so expect for some choppyness as the boats go back and forth. There are a lot of sailboats there though so at least they're nice to look at.
Great park. Rented a modern cabin and took my family. We had a great time. Cabin has hot water, electricity, full kitchen but bring all utensils, pans, soap, paper towels, and dont forget a coffee pot.
We cant wait to go again!
I been here couple of times, nice peaceful place to relax or if you're the adventurous type try the rowing boats or kayak that they have for rent, the water its ok, just not for swimming ( or at leastnot for me) there's a lot of small rocks near the edge but if you go like 30 feet into the lake the rocks are much smaller and don't bother much I have a 7 year old and she loves going in there. I have seen some people swimming but it's at your own risk since there's not a lifeguard on premises
Always a great escape into nature. Plenty of trails to walk or bike, great fishing spots, picnic areas, and even boat rentals. The lake is always picturesque with views of sailboats, wildlife, and more.
Beautiful park. Plenty of things to do.
Best mountain biking ever. awesome fishing kayaking lake. Lots of hiking, park service is great and doesn't much bother responsible visitors and are very helpful. Great place for a day of fun and exploring. Bring your mountain bike and he let, like I said, best riding ever
This park is really great; has awesome hiking and biking trails, lots of picnic tables and grills, a beautiful waterfall by the dam, and decent fishing as well. All that being said, I wouldn't recommend swimming in here. The water is incredibly dirty (cannot see more than a foot down) and I have seen, on multiple occasions, a yellow/green film near the banks. There are also fishing hooks often stuck on branches in the lake which makes for very dangerous swimming. Great place, just don't swim if you can help it.
This is a great place for a family picnic. There's a lot to do. Fishing, boating you can bring your own games to play. You can also hike or just walk the paths. It's well kept.
Oh my God it was amazing me and my amazingly beautiful girlfriend went on a kayaking tutorial taught her is tutorial taught to us by LL bean staff I can't wait to go back it was such an amazing adventure
Great place to be outdoors. Biking, hiking and fishing. Always clean and a good time
Nice place to go sailing and i heard there is a pool.
Nice place to have a picnic!
We had an amazing time sailing. They have plenty of restrooms, picnic areas and shade where you can hide. I heard great things about their cottages with full kitchens, but we didn't actually spend time there. The marina is well organized and there are at least three boat launches to choose from.
Great place to swim and have a picnic
I have toddlers so the sprinkler section is great for them. I also love how it’s still a part of the pool so when they trip and fall, they don’t scrap their knees on concrete. Picnic area has open space, the way I like it. Only downfall is their Bathroom is not well kept up with. Other than that, this is our favorite spot.
Enormous and well kept state park which includes numerous walking, biking and hiking trails for every level of hiker.
Park includes a boat rental area, marina, boat launch and swimming pool with its own lunch / snack concession.
MANY areas for picnicking, including tables, charcoal grilling stations and covered pavilions that can be rented out for larger parties. There are also cabins to rent.
My husband hike and kayak here, and still haven’t seen all the park has to offer.
Breathtaking views.
Amazing trails and very clean.
Was impressed with how big the whole park is.
Recommend downloading the map on your phone.
Would love to go camping here!
Beautiful park. Seems like they have quite of bit to do there. We went for a good walk with the kids. We stopped by a station or 2 inside, but I guess they were closed on the weekend of the 4th. We got info on the pool while there, we plan on going back. And I'm looking into hunting there later this year.
This park rocks! The lake and the walking trails are second to none. It is a great place to hike, have a picnic or bbq, fish, walk or just hang out and watch birds and other small wildlife. I see classes going on for kayaking and paddle boarding. It is worth the trip.
Our family enjoys Nockamixon State Park. We go out on our pontoon boat. The boat ramp is easy to use.
The pool is beautiful.
I feel that this state park has a lot to offer. It can be exciting and active (biking, disc golf) or relaxing (kayaking out on the lake).
Go choose your adventures!!
My wife and I enjoyed kayaking on the lake.
We walked part of the elephant trail however it is not very walkable. it is obviously used mostly for horses and is quite trudged up. it didn't smell very good either I don't recommend this pass for a leisurely walk in the woods. However it would be great for trail riding.
The mountain biking trails here are sublime. Safe enough for beginner to intermediate riders with (optional) challenges for experienced riders. Every improvement in your fitness, technique, or setup will be rewarded with a faster, more thrilling ride.
Hubby shared a tour with us, showed us the adventure amenities. It is lush and lovely. Plenty of parking, without seeming like too much parking lot. Looks like a lot of fun.
Beautiful park with great paved trails, picnic benches, a marina, a pool, a fishing pier and gorgeous views of the lake. There are boats that you can rent - with a valid driver's license, and you can also bring your own kayaks or other boats to explore the lake. Love this place!
Had a great canoe trip here, will go again
Grew up not far from here and have enjoyed all that this lake has to offer. Boating fishing trail walking bird sanctuary. This trip was for disc golf which is something I never have done before, awesome time good people hang around here. Also if I were you I would read the cool history behind the making of this lake and town that is under the water.
We rented a kayak & had a nice paddle. The boat guys were helpful, the weather was nice & we saw some cool birds & fishes.
This place is so big, beautiful and clean. I rode the paved bike trails around the marina area. It is about 2 miles and some small hills but not bad at all. I live in Philly and I think I will go again this week. It is so quiet and peaceful there. There is a mountain there and the park office told me there are bears here. They have good signs there so you don't get lost. In my opinion, Nockamixon, Delaware Canal and Peace Valley are the best biking riding in Bucks County. Even in Philly. In Bucks County, lots of people actually smiles and say hello to you. Bucks is great!
Very beautiful park. Pavilions are free to use on a first-come first-serve basis as long as it's not reserved. Swimming is a bit pricey but the pool is very large w/ slides and kid/infant friendly
I love Nockamixon State Park. That area is my home town. Plenty of things to do or just relax and enjoy the day. They have a swimming facility, boating, canoeing, cabins to rent, campsites at various places around the park. Take a look at the man made dam on the old 563 or Ridge Rd. (They've changed the name). The new 563 is on the other side that has the docks, swimming etc. Have fun.
It's a fantastic lake for kayaking!
Everytime we come here, we have a totally enjoyable day fishing.
I took my kayak out on the lake for the first time. The lake is very large and there wasn't too much traffic on the lake. Unfortunately I didn't catch any fish, but we did see one of the resident bald eagles fly over us and roost in a tree on the lake. Very impressive, good day on the water.
When I first moved to Pennsylvania, Nockamixon was the place most people brought me to. I love the outdoors & state parks, so having access to this is a blessing. There are so many trails here and access to water for sports of all kind. I see people fishing, kayaking & boating and anything else we're allowed to do in the park. There are picnicking and camping spaces as well as a swimming pool. From time to time I'll see people on horses for those designated trails. It seems like there may be something for everyone here.
Spent the weekend in cabin #10. It was the most wonderful weekend we had! Due to covid-19 we have not spent time together for a year. This was quite special. Lake Noximixon is so lovely & peaceful. A perfect place for a family to spend quality time anytime❤
The most beautiful lake in Eastern PA. So glad we live so close!
A beautiful park with great trails for walking or biking. Very serene and relaxing. It's a shame the camping area has been closed.
We love this lake and visit as often as possible! We own but for those that want to rent kayaks SUPs etc. go up to the North point of the lake to rent all day, unlike the overpriced by the hr at the Park itself! There is an access just over the bridge when you come back south. Take note, the entire half of the shore by the restrooms is positively unbearable during the summer, park at the furthest end and pick a spot in the shade to cast off! After you return everything and the rental or are done for the day, make a stop at owowcow for some much deserved ice cream!
My favorite fishing spot. Come here whenever I can to fish overnight from one of the boat takeoffs, rarely see other people. Sometimes if it gets really cold I'll responsibly start a small fire, even though it's not permitted, no one has ever given me trouble for it. Respect the park, appreciate it and share it.
This is a fantastic park. The lake is deceptively large. There have been times when I would swear we would be swamped by boats judging from all of the trailers in the launch parking lot, yet you get out there and there is plenty of room. Healthy water, lot's of fish. Plenty of trails and wildlife for the non-fishermen as well.
Very nice park. Very close, like to go with friends and Family. Fishing is nice, Dog 🐕 friendly! Also has many, Many spots to walk, Run, Bike, Ride Horses, takeout a boat, fish some more, kyak and conoe, so much more activites if its your first time coming bring friends and Family!! Its Fun :3 …
Large mixed use state park. You can do a large variety of outdoor activities here, although some are limited to certain areas within the park. Check the website for updated information beforehand. Large network of dog friendly hiking trails around most of the park. However, it would be good to consider wearing blaze orange, as some most of the trails boarder hunting areas.
Beautiful, peaceful, plenty of wild life everywhere you look. Fishing, boating, pontoons, great nature walks, picnicking, boat rentals, Pontoon tour rentals availability. Kayaking, canoeing, dip your feet at the marina!!!
Love this place for fishing and boating.
I have hiked, fished, kayaked and played on the disc golf course.Great course. I could write a long descriptive review but I'm lazy and if your in the area. You would be doing yourself a disservice by passing up the opportunity to play of this course as well as taking advantage of the park in any capacity.
One of my favorite places to disconnect from stress. Been going here for as long as I can remember. It was the first place I ever camped and caught my first fish! It's very well maintained and clean. They have a pool and a disc golf course too. DCNR is on top of their game here and my dogs love it as well! There a a couple little spots around the area that have great food as well! Lots of things to do and plenty of room to explore and the cabins are nice and very inexpensive if you want to camp but don't like tents.
Great place to take a walk and see amazing wildlife
A really nice park with trails and a marina as well. There are camps sites and a camp ground near by
Fun time out on the boat. Super friendly / helpful staff.
Great place to spend a relaxing day by the lake. Clean bathrooms available. Several picnic tables by lake shore though most people bring their own chairs. Sailing, canoeing, paddle surfing, etc.
Very nice Park everything are more than perfect from car parking place to the BBQ fire place clean park great space so the visitor can many activities at same time in one place like fishing, swimming, football, run, bicycle ride ect.
What I like about this park that they take care for the place and the visitor at same level.
Calm, relaxing, multiple picnic areas.
Lakes is intended for boating and fishing not swimming because of the boat traffic.
Inner tubes are not aloud in the lake for safety reasons.
Pool on site if you want to swim or take a dive!
Very clean !
All visitors should bring a trash bag to clean up after themselves if they intend on BBQing
Although I love this lake, it seems to have been leaning towards a boating lake. It's never been a problem before, but the recent influx of kayakers had taken over. I have a boat, but when going fishing with small children, it isn't always the best option. Fishing from the shore has become a hassle when these small watercraft can dock anywhere. Oblivious to your presence, they will row across your line and beach their craft within feet if you. There is very limited shoreline from which to fish. I do not fault all these people as I'm sure they don't realize the effect they have. (You know... The same people you see on the road everyday). They deserve to use the lake as much as other people and it's great exercise. I wish the park would provide more spaces for the shore "dwellers".. That were "small watercraft" free, to help eliminate congestion.
A few fishing piers would be an excellent addition to this lake.
Beautiful place to go with the family. Plenty of things to do
My husband and I had a wonderful time kayaking at Nockamixion State Park. It was such a beautiful day, and the tides were just right! I'm excited to go back and bring the rest of my family.
Great lake for small sail boats.
Good trails always fun!
Memorial day, great location, picnic tables, great fir kayaking. Family enjoyed day
This is a good park which is about 1.15mts drive from NJ. The drive towards to the park is very picturesque and enjoyable in all weathers. It’s got lot of open space for families to barbecue and play outs doors, and a Kayak and boat rental area and also a outdoor swimming pool. The pool entry is charged per head.
This cabin is RUSTIC. If you're going to need it, be sure you bring it. But it was a perfect way to see summer fade to fall. Part two coming up. I guess I'm rustic too.
Had an awesome time out at Lake Nockamixon a couple bluegill and two small largemouth bass rented a boat and I just had a really nice time I would recommend anybody else looking for a peaceful getaway definitely give Lake Nockamixon a shot
We went with the kids and there was nothing here for them to do. The pool was closed. Boating only rowboats available. The park was dirty and appeared as though not well maintained. We were quite disappointed.
The lake is pretty though.
Lovely place for any activities
Beautiful lake with nice walking trails!
Hood place for fishing and biking
The pool there was awesome and very clean. The journey there was well worth it. And if the pool isn't your thing there is a Marina were you can dive into the lake and have a great family BBQ.
3 years on a row spending the 4th of July here at the cabins. Horse riding, wine tasting, restaurants, boating, trekking, biking, fishing. At the cabins you get to do a campfire, roast marshmallows and have peace and quiet but everything you need is a short drive away.
Nice man made lake inside a nice park. Lot's of boating opportunities: sailing, kayaking, small motor boats. The bicycle trail surrounding the lake is smooth and fun to ride on. The hiking in the park is OK
Beautiful place to go if you li e the outdoors. They have so much to do there from a swimming pool to fishing to hiking, bike riding, renting boats and other equipment and a dock. Its peaceful and people have picnics there all the time and celebrations.
Great for a picnic, family event, boating, kayaking, biking, walking, and much more. This State Park is a huge asset to the area. Plenty of things to do and decent facilities for free.
These cabins are like hotels in the woods. Comfortably fit several grown men. Extremely spacious with all the amenities one can expect from a cabin in a state park. We went on a weekend where it was 2 degrees outside and I slept in my boxers with a light blanket, so that in itself should say plenty about how warm the place is. Will return.
Also great mountain biking about 2 miles up the road. Don't recommend it in the winter, though.
We boat, fish, & hike here!! Beautiful. They have grills, nice walking trails, several boat launches. beautiful kayaking opportunity! Don’t forget the big hike up the boulders!
Beautiful, serene, always a good hiking spot
Best deal in PA for keeping a trailer sailer, once you get through the waiting list. I don't worry about the boat at all, year round. Bathrooms, parking, and ramps are nice too. Pool looks nice but we've never had a chance to use it.
Good place 2 go finish n hve fun wit family n friends nice n herring the birds chirping and the fishes jumping in the water god bless us Amen
Had my baby shower here the reservations were a lot cheaper for a pavilion then other state parks and they have a much nicer pool area is always clean and staff as polite the local Rangers will help you with anything you need
Beautiful park with lots to offer. I love taking the kids and dogs here for some fun and exercise. The pool is great as well, but can get really crowded on weekends, or school trips on the weekdays
What a berth of fresh air, beautiful
A great place for a good time and see a lots of nature
Great family day on the lake or at the kids pool which is amazing! It starts with a wading area of 11" with sprinklers then slowly gets deeper to 5ft with 2 slides. We had an awesome day!
Nice place to enjoy nature. Specialty full moon night, the natural beauty of this place at fishing tier is undesirable.
Been coming here for years. Love it here 🥰 …
It has a beautiful man made lake with good walking path & fishing area. The marina has mostly sail boats & motors are limited. Rising to the north is Haycock Mountain the highest peak in Bucks County. The hiking trail gets rocky, with boulders as you reach the top.
Fantastic place to explore via kayak. I avoid the middle of the middle (if that makes sense) due to larger watercraft and wind creating chop. Kayak rental place was very reasonable prior to us buying our own. There's another place not far past that will rent to you (and deliver I think) if the other is closed or you want to explore different parts. Sometimes they rent out the lot nearest the rental place to host events though.
Beautiful. Love it here
The picnic areas are shaded and have beautiful views of the lake .
Easy access to the water
for kayaking .
Enjoyed camping here Always a fun time !
We rented a cabin. Loved it, although you have to bring sheets, towels, all kitchen supplies except there is a fridge and microwave.
So peaceful and quiet.
Mostly meticulous, and that's a tall order for a park so highly visited. Beautiful lake and trails. However the maps need updating, I often find that a hiking trail on the map doesn't exist in person or find a trail to nowhere, that just ends abruptly
This is a great place to take the family out on the water and to organize a large gathering for a birthday or picnic. Looks like you can rent boats and paddleboards. Just be careful of your feet if you go in the water, it's very rocky!
The park was great... However, for whatever reason there is no soap in the bathrooms. We all know how important it is to wash your hands after going to the bathroom... And that has been heightened with the COVID pandemic...I couldn't understand the lack of soap at a public park...
The place is always clean the parks hugh the pools perfect the staffs on point the atmosphere is always settling to me. I love to come out and BBQ with the family. Many things todo swim fish boat bike run swim camp . Just fantastic I Tell u.
Beautiful I love it here although fish is few and far between unless you have a boat. But it's beautiful the scenery and is incredible. I love walking here and having picnics with family and friends.
Great for fishing or hunting or hiking
Great state park to visit with a huge lake. You can fish and boat (up to 20 horsepower), and they also offer modern cabins you can rent. Many walking trails.
Lots of activities available at this park. The walking, biking paths need better signage along the way. It is easy to get lost. The paths need some maintenance. The asphalt is crumbling and is slippery from the mold growing on it.
It’s a good park what should I tell you very good
Had a lot of fun here, beautiful day on the lake, if renting a kayak or paddleboard make sure to get there early as there can be a line, one big thing is that there is no swimming in the lake which is what I was most looking forward tk
A premier fishery with amazing deep water structure , road beds, creek channels, weed flats, everything imaginable . My advice is avoid it during daylight in the summer if you are fishing . It is very easily navigated at night and the fish are more cooperative. Tight lines
Amazing park! Everyone was nice directing us around the park. Such a nice pool and overall area was beautiful with lots to do and quiet too. Just amazing!! Coming back :)
One of the best public park in the area. The lake is wonderful and the view are amazing! I go the for bass fishing and it is really nice place. The pool is great during the summer time.
This park is one of our favorite places to go walking and biking. The lake is beautiful, the walking paths are well taken care of, and there is a small playground my kids enjoy.
Nice place . about 1hr 15 mins from Philadelphia. Pool area is the main attraction plenty of parking and grilling area plenty of green area to camp and play. The river is a nice view but you are not allowed to swim in it, but you do can rent boats to fish and do other activities.
I stayed in a cabin while attending classes at the Environmental Education Center. It was clean and comfy, just what I needed.
This is a real treasure. It has more developed recreational areas with amenities, including restrooms, boating facilities, and improved trails. It is also large enough where you can get off the beaten path into secluded areas. Great place.
Went swimming here. Pool was nice, small area for children to walk right into. After 4 it was awfully crowded, could not even move. Seemed like it was free after that time. Then you could not move without getting kicked. Forget about swimming.
A favorite fishing spot. Great moutain bike trails too.
Very good be nice open up boat rentals.
Fun geocaching! Next time bringing my bike and checking out the bike trails.
My favorite state park. It has boating rentals, kayaks, paddlers. Lots and lots of picnic benches and barbeque places. A swimming pool (paid) and a playground. Can spend the whole day there. A very relaxing and calm place.
Awesome spot for kayaking! Tons of spots to launch and features to explore. Great wildlife and fishing as well.
Good size lake for sailing, rowing, paddle boarding,& swimming. Enjoyable bike and hiking trails. Only complaint is the inappropriate comments from paddle boat rental guy.
Great park to explore!
