I have purchased many small items from them before, but on this particular trip I was in the market for a shotgun and I went to Take Aim specifically as I know they have a nice selection of firearms and good prices. Some of the reasons I like them is that the staff is not pushy at all, they are all highly knowledgeable of each different manufacturer they carry (they have a nice array of manufacturers), and their prices are pretty competitive as I mentioned previously. I ended up spending a little bit over my budget, but I got what I wanted and I have to say that I am very happy with my purchase and experience with them. The Mossberg 590 pump action 12 guage, 8 + 1 rounds, with ghost sights and heat shield is a beauty and I'm happy they took the time to educate me about the differences and they allowed me to make my own decision. Make sure to pay them a visit.

.my fist purchase at take aim was a 410 escort. I could not beat the price and jack was a great help with my decision. He showed me many guns but the escort wanted to come home with me. Since then I have purchased 3 handguns and several accessories including holsters and scopes. I have been extremely happy with the price and the knowledge I received. This is that comparative rarity: a well-stocked shop that isn’t just the usual bunch of black plastic. The prices were very fair as opposed to ridiculously inflated. The young man who assisted me was very nice and polite. I bought two guns from them and will be returning next time I’m in the area. If you’re fortunate to live nearby, this is the place to go.

Best damn gun shop around. I have bought firearms and accessories for years. This is the only retailer I've ever had to treat me like they are more interested in making me a customer rather than making a profit from me. I regret not being their customer sooner.

I bought 2 safes, 3-4 handguns and 2 rifles from them from about 2000-2010. Generally dealt with Jack, who was always helpful. Only issue was being lowballed on trades, so I ended up trading at Cole's, and got somewhat better deals on purchases from those trades when the Big Guy was running it. That said, Take aim is the most professionally run gun shop in the area, with a great selection. They also have the best knowledge on safes, and I have used their services to move my safes to new homes twice, most recently in 2019.

Hugh selection on everything you want from customer the smallest little things to the largest firearm safes you could imagine. If you're looking for ammo even those hard to find sizes they will have. The customer service on the phone in person via email is outstanding, professionalism with that best friend feeling. And the best of all is family owned not a corporation that's why they are the best around. New to the area, stopped in at this store they ordered me a slug barrel for my shotgun, it came in just at the time they said it would. The staff was very helpful in picking out some great slugs. Bought a handgun through them and they were fantastic to deal with. I would highly recommend this store for all of your shooting equipment.

I just bought my 12th gun from them, and the experience has been exceptional every time. Jack (the manager) and his entire staff, especially Mike, are extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and very patient while you browse and evaluate. There is absolutely no pressure to buy, and the prices are extremely competitive. The selection is extremely impressive, and if they don't have it they will get it for you. I don't even bother going to any other gun shops anymore.

Sad that someone would give them a 2 star, just bought my M&P shield two days ago and going in to pick it up tomorrow and I got to say, I am glad I went here. I was going to get a SW .38 special and Matt answered all my questions and even helped me make a more informed decision about what it was I wanted to accomplish with my concealed carry and they let me check out several other options and I fell in love with the shield so I went with that instead. They were not out to make a sale, but to make sure I had the best option for what I was looking to accomplish. I even came here back in 2008 to purchase my first firearm and when something at home happened and I had to return it, they didn't give me a hard time and although I had to pay a restock fee it wasn't bad and they treated me nicely. This is my go to gun shop now that I moved back into the area.

I have bought and traded many guns here, as well as purchased a lot of accessories and ammo. Their prices are not always the best, their inventory (pre-COVID), was decent most times. What sets this place apart from all other gun stores in the area IMHO is the employees. These guys are not typical gun store guys with a ‘you’re wasting my time’ attitude. They are genuinely nice guys that really take the time to help their customers. I have been there several times during COVID and have seen them assisting obvious first time gun buyers who can’t find the trigger. They offer the same help that they do to their regulars. Of all of the gun stores in this area, this is the best- hands down. Now I wish they would just open a range and put Reload down the street out of business.

We thought that Shoot Straight is the best gun shop around, but boy were we wrong. Everything from the prices to selections made Take Aim our favorite place to go. It's been a year now and we've bought safes from (Liberty, incredible quality) to M&P 15s and everything in between. They are so professional and will spend as much time as you need to help you figure out what you want. No other place around lets you hold rifles and ACTUALLY SEE the prices without getting hassled by a salesman like Take Aim. Some complain that their selection isn't huge but if you ask one of the fellows behind the desk they will surely order it in for you within a week at a lower price than any of their competitors! We refuse to go anywhere else, we shop local and save money while doing so. Forgot to add Jack is the greatest!

Worst customer service ive ever experienced shoping for a firearm. Wasnt greeted upon entering the shop, finally tried to ask some questions and their reply was like i was wasteing their time and the last thing they wanted was to anwser my questions and was wasteing there time so i decided to bring my buisness elseware, i hope everyone else does the same. Ive come back to edit my review because ive since then been back to the store with a very different experience with different employees and i would like to say everyone except one employee was very nice and helpfull. Your one employee with long redish hair i believe was the one i would never deal with again and almost caused me to never shop at your store again. Besides the one employee you have a great store with a good veriety and selection so i give 4 stars i would give 5 if i didnt deal with the one guy with longer redish hair, i hope he can learn how to communicate with customers without being so rude and coming across like he is to good to have to anwser my questions or im wasteing his time.

First off the customer service I have received since day one at Take Aim is Second to None & I have been going to Take Aim in Palm Harbor for years now which is not just around the corner from me. They have a great selection to choose from and they also have recently expanded so now the store is twice as big as before plus the online store they have is very helpful as well. They all are very knowledgeable & are always willing to help find the best choice in what you are looking for but if they do not have it trust me they can get it for you. Reasonable prices with Honest Employees is what you will find at Take Aim.

I had been in the market for a gun for about a month before making the trip from Tampa to check out Take Aim. Several of my buddies had recommended the store so I decided I'd give them a shot. They had a much larger inventory than I was expecting and the staff was extremely knowledgeable. They catered to my needs and did not try to push a "product of the month" like some other gun stores in my area. Will definatley drive the extra miles to buy from them again.

Brad was able to match the price. Been there a few times to buy my five seven Ruger and my Taurus g2c and they were great prices paperwork with easy and they gave me no hassles the people that work there are tremendous and very helpful and polite this place is very professional and has a very wide selection of different accessories and weapons to choose from I would recommend this and would give it a 10 out of 10 for people who would want to bye home defense or concealed carry weapons I would recommend going here over any gun store in the area!

Awesome experiance every time i have been in the store. I got a killer deal transferring guns out of NY. I took my CC class there 2 weeks ago. Brad taught a great class. Very knowledgeable. I went in this week for an issue with my Mosquito and ended up trading it in and purchasing a Mark IV and an M&P Shield. I wish i remembered the guy's name behind the counter. Purchased several items at this shop. The last 2 visits the staff was EXTREMELY RUDE! Very short with answers to my questions about the product I purchased from their store. The employee literally asked me " is that it" as he turned away to talk to the other employee. Called a few days later to inquire about information on the safe I purchased from this store. Again, employee was RUDE. Told me to call the manufacturer and hung up.

Great shop . Have been buying from the for years and they have competitive prices but most importantly they will go to bat for you with manufactures on those rare occasions where a gun malfunctions. I am an avid gun collector and shooter who has lived in Pinellas county since 1990 and there are a number of great gun shops but this place is number one for a number of reasons but customer service really sets them apart. In my opinion the only real bad apple in Pinellas is Castle Keep Guns in Largo .

$45 for a 3 minute glock sight install...? That’s $15 a minute or $900 an hour if you do the math. Noticed that a lot of their items for sale we’re over priced meaning they price gouge. I know people who won’t step foot in this establishment for these reasons and I’m now one of them.

I was afraid that big shooting range up the street would hurt business but it appears bigger is for sure not always better. Besides what they want to join the range is just plain stupid. James, there are 2 different FDE Glocks. One sells for about $570 and the other sells for about $650. Sounds like there was just a miscommunication on the one you were looking for. One has a retail of $649 and the other has a retail of $709. So both prices you were quoted were within reason.

Great staff huge selection in store on everything firearm related or they'll order what you want if they don't have it great prices well worth a visit nice to see update firearms and not a bunch of the same old thing and they don't push any specific brand on you like a lot of other stores you go in for something specific and they don't talk nonsense about the item and try to force you in to buying something else but do give you the most updated information on items overall a terrific buying experience I will be returning and telling others
