I have purchased multiple things from there and have even taken a class there. Every experience has been wonderful. Everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful. Even if I come in for just a simple ammo box the guys at Max Dogs are always happy to drool over the new guns they got in with me. It’s less of a salesman-customer experience and more of a two friends just talking about guns experience. This is something that is very hard to find. The instructor I had for my class was previously in the military and law enforcement. He not only was super qualified to teach the class but gave us tips from a law enforcement point of view. He was super knowledgeable and I will definitely be taking another class there. I have also been to the Largo location and found the same friendly atmosphere there as well. The Mad Dogs in Tampa and Largo are the only gun shops I’ll ever go to now because of these amazing experiences.

Been here a few times and ever time I've been greeting with kind professionals in their craft. They all are proficient in their craft in knowledge. Even though I am not a beginner with firearms I still took a private lesson because of simply talking with the instructor Lawren Downing. The lesson was amazing and completely something I would do again in the short future. He corrected minor deficiencies that had a major impact on my ability to narrow the size of my grouping. Would recommend to anyone trying to improve from beginners to someone advanced.

My son and I recently took the concealed licensing course with Lawrence Downing at the south Tampa location. Mr. Downing was very informative regarding gun safety, gun laws, and shooting techniques at the ranging. He took the time to answer all of our questions in a precise understandable manner. I highly recommend taking this class with Mr. downing, as well as, the other more advanced classes Mad Dog Armory offers. You can never be too knowledgeable if you plan to own and/or carry a gun. Freddy was also extremely helpful when selecting what gun would suit my needs best.

As a first time gun owner I had no clue what to expect and was pretty nervous. The guys at the shop could not have been more helpful. They spent a solid 90 minutes educating me and answering my questions. Can confidently say I will not shop anywhere else.

Not one to usually bother with reviews, however I feel compelled to share my exceedingly positive experience at this gun shop. Recently bought my first rifle and have been in the market for a handgun to be used as a carry weapon when my ccw permit is approved. I went to the 3 other gun shops before stopping at Mad Dog on Kennedy. Every other gun shop seemed to be strangely irritated I’d come in at all. I knew what I was looking for but needed some guidance on choosing b/w 2 possible options. Freddy at Mad Dog really helped narrow down exactly which option was gunna work best for my needs and make the most financial sense. It was much appreciated and I feel like I got a pretty damn good deal too. Thanks

I highly recommend the Full Monty class with Lawren. The content was well presented and easy to understand, with plenty of time built in for questions, which are highly encouraged. The range portion of the class was also great, Lawren is a very attentive, patient, encouraging instructor, and had me shooting consistently center mass in no time at all. Overall it was fun, informative, and definitely worth it!

Amazing place! Jose is very friendly and informative and the gunsmith Jarrod put my accessories on for free while I waited. I’ve been coming here since this location opened and the new manager Freddy is great! The prices on ammo used to be really high here with the old manager but Freddy brought them down. This guy knows how business really works. These guys even have an hour long gun show on YouTube that’s the best show I’ve ever seen.

I had my mind pretty-well set on a Sig p365 SAS and Freddy answered some questions about it and gave me some options in that category including the Shadow Systems hardware (awesome firearms!). My mom and I received the Full Monty pistol training and concealed weapon class from Lawrence Downing. Not only was the course very informative but Mr. Downing is a very naturally talented teacher.
