Love big 5 always have. This 1 seems understaffed and under funded. When I go to the sporting goods store I ride my bicycle down the trail but I get there and . . . No bike rack. Clerk at the counter was nice enough to let me bring it in. Also it always seems like they are stocking. boxes all around the store. But when I go in for the sales items even early in the morning they are out of stock or out of my size. I have called about non size sensitive products asking if they have them and they are kind enough to take my name and put it aside for me. In conclusion a couple complaints but Overall great store 👌

Update your business hours! What's the point of having a Google listing if it's not ACCURATE. UPDATE: Changing to 3 stars. I mentioned the incorrect hours to an employee and they told me they'd update, but it's still inaccurate. The person working the shoe area acts like a customer asking for shoes is a huge bother. Told me both pairs I asked for were out in both of my requested sizes. Turns out, they do have those shoes *in my size, in the store* since a manager found them for me several minutes later. I had asked him to check if the Northgate location has those shoes, since I didn't want to make the trip for nothing. 3 stars for the manager being super nice. Maybe train your employees a bit more and while at it, do a refresher in basic customer service.

Apparently. Staffing issues are starting to cause awkward intermittent closures. As a partially mobility impaired senior, I plan my bus shopping trips carefully. I had needs at adjacent Office Max and also needed winter apparel, and was stuck by a four hour closure . Federal Army-Navy Surplus got my business today in Belltown as I returned to my Pike Place Market apartment. Perhaps next time. I gang my errands out of necessity.

I understand that they've had a lot of theft and break-in problems, when I went in yesterday though I kinda felt like they were acting as if I were going to steal something. I'm not a homeless scrubbed out guy and I spent $108 there from my checking account, despite this I didn't feel like it was necessary to have 2 workers come up between me and the door as If I was going to run with merch.

When growing up in the sixties there were quite a few mom and pop sporting stores, sadly that is not the case today. Luckily we have big 5 that has some of the feel of a mom and pop operation. I prefer shopping here rather than a mega sports store. The only thing I would like to see is more comprehensive training for the staff so they have better understanding of the equipment they sell and how it is used...

I really like Big 5 sporting goods as it is usually in my experience is stocked well. And the employees seem helpful and very experienced in their jobs. Also in most cases the prices seem really good compared to other discounted retainers. I would highly recommend that if you have never shopped here that you take some time to check it out. There are many locations all over the Western United States as I have shopped there in other States. Go there if you need anything sporting goods related.

Cons: *The quality of goods is average to less than average. Lots of stuff made in China so it is a good idea to check out each item for minor flaws before buying. * The isles are crowded together. * It feels like taking a trip back to a 1970s big box store with low visual appeal. Pros: * If you pay attention to the store ads sometimes you can find a good deal even compared to Costco or online stores. * I like that the store has a parking lot with spaces available. I have never had to "circle the block" to find parking. * The staff is friendly and surprisingly chipper compared to stores like Best Buy and Target. * They have enough staff on hand so that there is never a long wait.

My boyfriend and I just came in so I could buy some running shoes. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. The gentleman that rang me up, in particular, showed excellent customer service. He threw away my gross old shoes so I could wear my new ones out! Will definitely be back.

This is a great store, clean and fully stocked, with good prices often made better by really spectacular sales. I like dropping in now and then with nothing special in mind. In this cornucopia I never leave empty handed. And the staff are super friendly.

I always take my daughter here for decent running shoes and squishy water bottles. It's a fantastic shop for less expensive outdoor and sports equipment. $50:00 running shoes would cost double or triple elsewhere . You name the sport they most likely will have the gear.

All the stores are STUFFED with stuff - good if you like browsing, bad if you're in a hurry. Staff can speed thing up, unless there are more than 5 customers keeping them busy. Good stuff at fair to good prices. Beats buying unseen online.

I am a camper who likes comfort but does not need extreme expedition gear. My in box is full of ‘recommendations’ of products that are over designed, short run and extremely expensive. I had to leave the REI camping department because I couldn’t suppress my laughing. If it takes 5 plastic tags to explain a simple spork; that’s ridiculous. I always do a lot of research (not rich or trying to impress) and usually end up at Big 5. I got a truly great large tent there for just $150 and I am still discovering it’s great features as I use it. Bear logo. Most of what’s in that tent is also from Big 5, come to think of it... It’s Spring and time to (safely) lurk in Big 5 again, until I can get up into the terrain I prefer. Like a homing instinct! Thanks, everybody. You really contribute to my happiness and I appreciate the job you do.

We stopped in to look at walking shoes and did not find a very big selection. This store is a little smaller than others, but still had a wide selection if other sporting goods! The employees were very helpfully and pleasant!

I've been in three Big 5 stores since I've been in Washington & for some reason I have found at least one or two items I couldn't live without each time. Just wish they had a better customer history program. I travel a lot & tend to loose my receipts. The associates never seem to pull up my name when I purchase something so if I have to exchange or return an item, it can be a PITA!

I didn't buy anything because my suitcase was already stuffed. I wish I'd saved room for bargains here. From name brand rain gear to workout gear and hiking supplies, this store offers it all and at lower prices than the fancy big name retailers. A little crowded and disorganized, hence 4 Stars..

Although not as big as some sporting good stores, they have a good selection of certain categories e.g. baseball, running shoes, basketball, etc. The prices are reasonable and the service is generally pretty good.

Big 5 has a good selection of athletic and outdoor gear. Hunting and fishing , camping gear, Tents, stoves, chairs, hunting rifles, targets, tackle, and there is a decent selection of exercise equipment, everything from free weights, Yoga Matt's, chin up bars, training balls, skates, boxing and exercise gloves, as well as a good selection of athletic clothing and Verity of outdoor and athletic shoes for work play or sports. Parking is convenient but limited as the parking lot is very small, but there is also street parking available.

Polite and helpful staff, with a decent selection of sport equipment. Not as cheap as you can find on Amazon but if you need something asap this is a good place to go. Check out their store flier for discounts and sales that are going on.

Fair amount of products. Staff was not very helpful. I had to go over and ask for help after I was there for a while. Staff member didn't really know much about baseball gloves. I ended up finding one myself. They also didn't give me the discount on the glove. It was supposed to be $10 off but they charged full price.

Ballard Big 5 is a great place to get your kids spring soccer cleats and has multiple options for their ultimate Frisbee disc. We we're just here getting all the above plus a youth basketball. It's part of a big chain, but feels like a neighborhood store.

I bought a nice quality Umarex Glock bb gun there and I enjoy shooting it out on the bike trail. I also bought a nice Jansport backpack and some Sketcher shoes that are very comfortable and sporty. Great sales staff and a lot of sporting goods at reasonable prices.
