Thank you Bill!!! What a fabulous experience today being fitted for skates! After some adult ice skating lessons in Inver Grove Heights, I was interested in having my own skates instead of renting. Strauss was recommended. I was unsure about the process, but Bill put me at ease immediately. I tried several styles, and with Bill's expert guidance, settled on the perfect pair. Comfortable surroundings and friendly staff made fitting and purchasing a breeze. Answered all of my questions, and I came away feeling knowledgeable and truly satisfied with the choice to visit Strauss. It's easy to see why people come to Strauss from great distances! I'll be back!

These folks are awesome! Everytime I have ever needed help with a bike repair, or buying gear, Strauss has always stepped up. The repair department is super fast and very inexpensive. Got me up and running again with a cassette swap on my 24 year old bike. Love these guys!

Dropped in around 6 for some new skates for my husband. The service was amazing. Skates recommended and are great. Items in stock for a larger foot size. The thing that really set this place apart is that we rolled in with a sassy toddler. The staff was just amazing at accommodating us and were so friendly with our little one. You really get the family vibe here. Love supporting local biz especially when they go above and beyond. We will be back!

Got me in quickly to repair two flat tires on our bicycle. I assumed I would receive a call when it was ready to be picked up but I was not correct. $55 to replace two inner tubes with labor. OUCH. Should've inquired about price ahead of time but didn't fathom the repair would cost more than the bike it was done on😭 would've changed them myself but the 18 speed chain was a bit intimidating😠 happy to have quick same day service. Friendly staff. Easy to make an appointment with. I went in for a figure skate boot fitting. They answered all my questions and helped me pick the perfect pair for my goals. I skated in them today for the first time and they are perfect. Blade was sharpened really well by them also. Great service. Thank you Strauss!

Great small business. When we asked if we needed new skates or shoulder pads, they checked our equipment and said we had exactly what we needed. Go here for all you hockey needs. Moved to the Twin Cities from a place where you don't grow up playing hockey. After getting some used skates and a cheap wooden stick off craigslist and playing a couple times, I decided I needed a decent stick. I asked my buddies where I should go and heard about Strauss. Came into Strauss one evening and explained to the guy at the counter how I was looking for a stick but had limited hockey experience. He showed me to a rack of sticks right in my price range and told me all I needed to know. Could not be anymore happy with this experience. No one tried to oversell me on a pricey new stick or pressure me into buying anything really. Got the feeling from the employees of "Hey happy to help you, this is what we got, I'd think it'd be great for you, let me know if you have any questions or need help" Which, I think, is the best shopping experience. I even came back the following week after purchasing my new stick (which I love) and told them that it might be a bit too long for me. They cut it down for free and also got my skates sharpen in no time at all. Not going anywhere else for anything hockey!

Awesome staff, always very friendly and extremely helpful. I was recently in there and spoke to Ty about my bike pedal clicking. He was fast to take a look, test ride it, and warranty out the pedal in a matter of minutes. He is a very good at his job! Be sure to keep him around.

After a initial poor fitting (I'm new to skating), the manager reached out to me and had me come back in to get a proper skate fit. Originally I was sized with a too large skate, just a rare mistake. After speaking with the manager, I came back in and received awesome care and an expert fitting. The difference was immediately noticeable, without even going on the ice. Excellent customer service, and a great experienced staff. Will be going back as long as I still live in Minnesota.

Moose, Chris and staff were beyond helpful, they made sure that Sam was the focal point. They took their time and explained everything so that Sam was comfortable and taken care of. Love this place! Every time we are in there someone is always helpful in answering questions. My daughter went in for skates and she had it in her mind what skates she wanted. Boy was she wrong! She was fitted for the proper skates and has even admitted that the "old guy" at Strauss was right! We stopped in and told him so and he said, "I can't hang dry-wall, I can't fix a computer but I can fit skates!" and boy was he right!

I felt like I had walked into Hans shop from the Mighty Ducks movies. The staff have probably forgotten more about hockey than most of us will ever know. After searching the Bauer Experience, multiple Pure Hockey and Play It Again stores I was able to fine a pair of skates that would fit. I will buy all my son's new gear here as long as he plays hockey.

These folks are the best in the business. There is a reason they have been in business for so long. I would like to write about all the times the folks (and it is not just one person, but all of them) have gone way above and beyond for me, and my kids, but you probably would not believe it, and I could never do it with Googles character limit. You might be able to get your hockey gear a tad cheaper on line (doubt it, but maybe) but the service you will get is worth double the price.

Bought skates from this store. Here is my experience. Their selection is nice and their skates are well priced, but that is not why you should buy from them. I went there this morning because the skates I purchased last week did not fit right. I was worried that since I had skated on them once they would not be able to return them. They were very honest and told me the problem was with the quality of the skate itself and offered to sell me an upgrade. Here is where they went above and beyond - The first skate I tried was a better fit but not perfect. I then tried a more expensive skate which of course fit very nice (their skate fitting process is comprehensive and precise). The upgrade skate was more than I could spend so they offered me the skate at a lower price to match what I was able to spend. There was no question of how many times I used the skates I was exchanging and absolutely no hassle - quite the opposite actually. I will never buy skates or hockey gear anywhere else again. This local store does it the right way.

This is a great place to go to when you need a little advice or just a great place to buy your bike from, a little spendy but really worth it, their staff is excellent the boss is cool and he brings his dog to work with him. Great and friendly lab. I purchased a silver and black Raleigh Cadent smoothest bike I've ever owned. Thanks guys I'll be back again soon.

Always, always, always great customer service! Whether it is Moose, Shaun, Bill, Tommy, or any one of the crew, they have taken good of me through the years. They are very helpful, have great attitudes, and they take the time to answer all of my questions. Not at all like the chain stores where you can't find someone, or when you do, you get the feeling you're bugging them when you ask for something. At Strauss, these folks know their stuff, and they provide "Good old fashioned customer service!" That is the reason they have been in business for over 125 years!! Keep up the good work!

Strauss saved the day!!! Recently my daughter's car was broken into and her figure skates were STOLEN. This is a crisis in itself, however, add the fact that she had a competition in THREE days made it a four alarm crisis. It gets better....I was out of the country and my daughter was staying with her grandparents. Her coach quickly stepped in to help and called Janelle at Strauss. Janelle moved quickly to locate the right pair of skates from Reidell in Hastings as well as a set of blades to be mounted. Less than 24 hours later, my daughter was at Strauss getting her boots fitted/heated and blades sharpened. She was able to compete a few days later making it to final rounds and placing third! Without Janelle and Strauss this WOULD NOT have been possible. They made a very stressful situation SO EASY! They handled everything for me. I cannot thank them enough. Go Strauss!!!
