This review is long overdue. We bought our specialized shoes in October of last year. It's the best and most comfortable shoes we've ever owned. For travelers/vanlifers like us it is very important to have a good fitting shoes because we walk a lot. Manny methodically sized our feet, even filmed the way we walk and run to find the right the perfect shoes for us. We highly recommend Fit 1st Running!!!

Manny is AMAZING!!! I walked in 10 minutes after closing. It was clear Manny and his friend were wrapping up, but instead he took time to help me find a good pair of running / walking shoes. He did a recorded gait analysis of my walk while barefoot and then again after trying on shoes he selected based on my size, pronation and arch. I no longer experience shin splints when running! Thank you Manny for your care + expertise!

Manny helped me select a pair of running/walking shoes for my dad who had some major issues with plantar fasciitis. He also suggested some sandals to wear around the house, and both items helped him tremendously to the point where he is almost 100% back to normal after weeks and weeks of pain that impacted his daily function. TLDR; Good for new runners, bad for runners who know what they want. Their selection is very limited, which is unfortunate for runners who already have a trusted brand/model of shoe. The first pair of shoes recommended to me didn't work out after my first run, so I could only exchange (not return) them. Since they still don't carry my brand of choice, I'm stuck with a different shoe, in a size I don't usually wear, that I still don't like as much as my previous shoe.

I can't help but think this store is poised for huge growth. They have reasonable prices (and quality shoes) and highly knowledgeable staff. Usually you have one or the other--lower prices and staff that has no training, or boutique prices and highly trained staff. What happens when you combine the best of both? Fit 1st Running. Manny, one of the co-owners, combines considerable knowledge of shoes, feet biomechanics, and lifelong fitness and running expertise. Ask him pretty much any question about shoes and he'll have an informed and thoughtful answer. This is my new go-to place for walking and running shoes in Minneapolis.

Hands-down the best running shoe store experience. HIGHLY recommend them for anyone who might feel uncomfortable about not looking like a "typical runner". I am visibly gender non-conforming, and Manny seemed to "get it" instantly and was zero percent weird about it. He was very low-pressure (no "hard selling"), patient (even with multiple returns/exchanges) and really seems to know his stuff.
