Absolutely one of the coolest shops on the planet. The selection of boards and clothes there is awesome. Their exclusive store designed stuff is amazing quality as well. If you are in Minneapolis, absolutely go by one of the stores. I was always closer to the Uptown store but they are both sick. 10/10 must visit. Life long customer now.

Finally getting into skateboarding in my mid 20's and the folks at Familia made buying my first board an absolute blast. Staff were super helpful and talked me through the entire process of buying my board. Couldn't recommend this shop enough!

Took my son to get his first skateboard today and customer service was amazing! He was so nervous and the gentleman (forgot to ask his name) was so patient and kind. My son asked a lot of questions and he answered each one and my son left the store so happy and excited to start skating. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHOPS! Writing from Virginia to show some love for Familia. My local shop doesn't always stock much in the way of shoes(which i understand shoe orders are pricey) and they go through size runs quickly so I normally end up having to order something from one of the big skate mail order companies. I was on a quest for NB 288s and could not find any in my size at any of the big online sellers, not even the NB site, when I ended up stumbling on the Familia website. Long story short, I ordered my sneakers Tuesday around lunch time and I was skating in them by Thursday night. Familia was quick with the shipping, quick with email responses, and they threw some swag in the box. If you can, shop local but if you can't, shop from someone else's local! Really happy with these guys, thanks!

I love companies like this! To me it’s the little things that matter. I live in Utah and I used to skate but not anymore. I’m in my 30s and I just like shoes, so basically I was just searching for a certain shoe. I found them on google and I was stoked they had my size, so I ordered the shoes and their shipping was super fast! And I love that they even took the time to show me that customers matter. Thank you guys! I will definitely be ordering from you again!

I actually went in and got my very first board from them! Im a complete noob and i asked a ton of questions and they didn't make me feel dumb dm were extremely welcoming! They even helped me build a board from scratch while explaining all the parts and various options. Shout out to Dennis for being so patient with me!

Even during a pandemic, Dennis was immensely helpful and accommodating. They helped the entire way in building a custom board for me. Very quick turnaround in orders. I placed an order on Thursday night and I received a call saying that it was ready on Friday afternoon. Support your local skateshop, especially this one!

Took my daughter here to get her first skateboard and our experience at Familia was outstanding. Staff was engaging and made the experience of getting the board as memorable as the purchase. Price was in line with what I was expecting as well. The other customers seemed really cool too, which sounds like an odd observation, but I think it speaks to the clientele they build.

Dennis has helped me twice now in the past few weeks getting me set up skating again after a 20 years hiatus. He got me up to speed on what's changed since then. But mostly that guy gives great customer experience in a very non-intimidating way. He takes the time to talk to you about skating or things unrelated completely! I will be going back for sure any time I need any thing related to skating. Great, clean shop that represents Minneapolis well.

I decided to break my ~10 year skating hiatus and walking into this shop was a breath of fresh air. Dennis seemed legitimately excited to field my many questions and catch me up with what has changed in skate gear/culture. Dude clearly knew what he was talking about and wasn't wrapped up in fads/trends/marketing ploys that I know occasionally arise in skateboarding. While he was setting up my board, numerous people rolled through to check out new gear or just say "hey" to Dennis. In the 20 minutes I was there, sense of community around this place was palpable. Based on that and what I've heard from everyone I've asked, this is obviously the spot to go in Minneapolis.
