Great experience from this wonderful family owned shop. I took my fiance here years ago to get her familiar with firearms. It was a slow day there and they gave her an impromptu pistol safety lesson. They made her feel confident and safe around a pistol and helped extinguish some of the bad stigma people can feel about them. She got to hold all sorts of pistols and get tips about choosing the right one, safety, safety, safety :), holding, aiming, stance, etc...they did an awesome job especially for a freebie crash course. More recently, out of 3 shops we tried, they were the only ones with more than one 1911 in stock. They actually had my ideal setup for a price my fiance wouldn't hate me for. It was super busy when we got there, but they got to us after a short 5 minute wait. They took their time showing and explaining anything I asked about. I dealt with the mother (I cant remember her name) of the family when picking out and got to meet her son Ryan and Shorty as well when picking up a few days later. Everyone was a pleasure to deal with, and very appreciative of me doing business with them. Pricing was on point - even a little below what I've seen online for what I got. I definitely paid exactly what I was expecting to and got more than I thought I could for it. Thanks everyone at Shorty's, I'll see you again around hunting season or maybe even before! This is a very nice shop. They are friendly, and treat you great. If you act like a punk, you will be watched, but that ensures safety. They like to spend time with their customers. If you are looking for a First time gun shop go here. Watch your prices though, as sometimes certain guns sell higher here than other places.

This spot is a gem. Came in just looking to see what was in stock and walked out with a new toy. The staff was very friendly, one of the guys even spoke Spanish! (Huge plus in my book) If you’re looking for a shop where they’re gonna be upfront, no BS, and walk you through every step....Shortys! It just became my new shop!!

Staff was very helpful and personable , had a exceptional selection of firearms including a Colt 1911 for hundreds under it's normal price . I had to leave with a 59 Winchester . If you have $ you should be saving, don't walk in this shop . It's one of those stores .

I've been going to this shop for more than a year now. The people who run the shop are very nice and knowledgeable. Very good selection of guns for fairly small shop, and the prices are good. They always have a good stock of surplus rifles to look at and handle. Shorty is freaking hilarious. Honestly, you can find prices online that are cheaper than just about any other local shooting supply place. To me it's worth whatever few dollars extra things may cost to keep a local business going.

I bought a couple guns from shorty and I got my ccw there. His prices are a little bet kind of higher than Fleet and Farms and Dunham’s but with the knowledge and Training your getting it’s well worth it. Shorty is a great guy to me

They have a pretty nice selection ranging from some pretty high end down to some more budget firearms and even carry a decent selection of mil surp guns (keep in mind inventory is always changing). Prices here are pretty competitive for a local shop which was a nice surprise. Shorty will not do transfers from other sellers (except rarely for law enforcement). Shorty himself is a very candid and straight forward guy. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because he doesn't do transfers (which I understand due to a lot of bulk sellers pricing things far under what a local place could and taking business away from his shop).

Lived in this neighborhood for two years now and I finally stopped in. This place is a gem. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I dealt most with Ryan and I'll tell ya, he's a great guy with tons of knowledge. Go stop in and see for yourself.

This is THE premier firearm location in milwaukee. Best prices during the pandemic which shows they TRULY ARE FOR THE PEOPLE.. They have everything from custom made in house kydex holsters to high quality sweaters to 50 calibres. Shorty Ryan and the staff are top notch and very knowledgeable.

Great local gun store. They made a large donation of ammunition to a local range that hosts a family day to bring families out to shoot. Without this donation the family day event would not have happened. Great shop helping to engage with the community and promote firearms safety and training at local gun ranges.

After visiting several other gun shops in town, Shorty's was a breath of fresh air. No "tough guy" act, just honest advice and great service. Shorty made sure I knew how to properly handle the gun he showed me. I purchased it and was back several times that week asking questions. He was also very willing to take back several holsters I had purchased to try out. I was always made to feel welcome, and Shorty and Jim always took the time to answer my questions. For a real down to earth experience without the attitude, I highly recommend Shorty's Shooting Sports for your firearm needs.

I went into Shorty's after going to shooters shop and being told that I couldn't buy anything there because I was not from Wisconsin. After talking to Shorty he had no problem selling me long guns and would transfer any handgun to an Illinois FFL dealer if I wanted to purchase it. It was nice to go into a gun shop and have someone who is knowledgeable behind the counter. While I was browsing he took him time to help a lady who had just purchased her first gun and showed her how it worked. He even offered to take her to the range to show her how to use it properly. I would highly recommend this shop for their excellent service..

Iv dealt with shorty on a number of occasions. Very straight-forward and reasonable. I like his lack of a filter, means he's honest. Will continue to do business here. Iv recommended his shop to a number of people and will continue to do so! A number of friends of mine have taken the CCW class he offers monthly, and learned alot. While he cant offer range time, you wont leave without handling a firearm and knowing its functions like the back of your hand. This shop wont make newbies feel dumb, they welcome questions! I purchased two guns from Shorty's, both for raffles I was doing for clubs I belong to. Shorty was willing to sell me the guns and, when a winner was picked he was willing to take the weapons back, do the background check and then reissue the weapon to the winner. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT BECAUSE IT RELEASES THE CLUB OF ANY LIABILITY IN THE FUTURE. Shorty is the only Gun Shop willing to go the extra mile to help charity fund raisers. In addition his selection and prices are more than just competitive. If you are a non-profit wanting to raffle a weapon, of any type, SHORTY'S SHOOTING SPORTS is the only place to go. Shorty is a guy who knows what he is talking about, he has a great selection, the prices are right and Shorty will go the extra mile to make it work for you.

I was looking to purchase my first handgun so after doing a quick Google search of places in Milwaukee, I was surprised that I had never heard of it (within the last two years). I decided to check it out in person. I mentioned to Shorty that I had planned on taking the CCW course (which I have since completed and obtained my license). He was more than helpful in showing me what he had in stock for the calibur that I was looking for. As naive as I may have sounded by the questions I was asking, he took the time to genuinely make sure that I felt comfortable with the calibur and the gun. The customer service at Shorty's was very good (as I have visited the other shop in West Allis and was turned off by the other shop). I went to the other shop in West Allis awhile back to use the range and they "lost" my driver's license after one of their guys accidently gave it to someone else. The man who had received my license didn't realize he had two when he put them in his wallet and went home. I never did get back my driver's license but was reimbursed for it. Although, I decided to go with another shop (outside of the Milwaukee area) for my first handgun, I enjoyed the atmosphere so much at Shorty's and I am already looking to buy a second one that I may go back to get it from Shorty.

I had been calling around to several gun shops in the area to find a particular revolver. Shorty's was the only shop that had it in stock. They even had a special edition version that I ended up purchasing instead. When I walked in I felt very welcomed and got helped immediately. I was in and out in under 25 minutes.
