Pre-Thanksgiving visit. Love Cabela's...you can get steak seasoning, a Christmas t-shirt, Herter's 9mm ammo(good stuff guys) or a Yugo 7.92mm Mauser all in one stop. (We liked the Christmas tree)

The Cabela's in Louisville is a fine example of the Cabela's brand and is as good as any Outdoor Store in the region. I've always been treated well by the employees and with few exceptions they've always had what I was looking for when I went in. Ammo being one of the exceptions, but you can't blame them for that. I look forward to going here many more times in the future.

Wonderful sales and wonderful staff! Cabela's and Bass pro shops are a wonderful shopping experience. I've never had a bad experience. Always kind and willing to help. Plus you have the opportunity to purchase the best brands of outdoor gear and more. Need help for Christmas shopping or preparation for a camping or outdoor adventure Cabela's and Bass pro is the way to go!

Love Cabela's! Great selection of fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, boating, and outdoors stuff. Definitely worth checking out. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They have an aquarium and plenty of taxidermied animals around the store.

Overall a decent experience at the Louisville KY location this past Saturday other 5han the service in the firearms dept. I stood there for 30 minutes while the 4 men working there all stood around talking and just staring at us like we were in the wrong place. I tried waving down someone and they completely ignored me I won't mind shopping at Cabela's but the firearms dept won't be an area I revisit. Please do better guys.

Like most large stores it's not always easy to find what you want. What makes it worse is that they have a lack of employees so there is no one to answer your question. I did ask an employee something as he was passing me by and he reluctantly answered my question. I guess he was on a quest to do something else. The prices are also higher than online, I believe. I would much shop online and get it in 2 or 3 days than wander inside the store looking for help.

Overpriced compared to other stores and online but still a great place to shop. I don't like that they skip selling other baits if they make a similar bait in house. I suppose it's to save space but I like what I have had good experience with.

We took advantage of Cabela's overnight RV parking and found ourselves in need of a jump in the morning as our battery was dead. A very nice employee from the boat department in Cabela's drove over on a tractor with a battery and jumper cables. We had a nice chat with him and then we were on our way. Shout out to the employee from Florida. Thank you so much.

Looking for anything outdoors i can find it here. Huge selection of gear. Whether I'm fishing, camping, hunting they'll have what i needed. They always have a legit Santa Claus during the Christmas season too. Needless to say i can never leave here without finding something to purchase. Even if it's to stop by the cafe they have on-site. Great WiFi too. 😎

I took my son's to see Santa and was beyond pleased! The Santa looked good and was extremely professional. They do it by reservation so there was no waiting at all. Also the store itself had great black friday deals that were almost to good to be true.

I'm not a hunter, I've never been in a Cabela's, but I needed a trail cam to deal with a vandal on my property and two guys (Michael and another whose name I didn't catch) answered every question and really helped me out. This was my third stop today trying to find a camera to protect my home, and it should have been my first!

I took my two kids and niece for pictures with Santa. We made an appointment online and there was no wait at all. Santa was very kind, he spend a long time talking with each of the kids. We received a free photo with Santa and each child got a baggie with hot chocolate mix and a craft to take home.

I was concerned about not being able to take my 5 year old to see Santa this year, but Cabela's came through (Covid safety guidelines)! I have been taking him there every year since he was born, they always have the BEST Santa!! I also get some good deals on Christmas gifts for the person I'm not sure what to get! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CABELA'S!! Even though it's about a 45-60 minute drive from my house, it's worth it!

Huge fishing section and apparel. Not a lot of camping gearing. I grew up in Springfield, MO home of Bass Pro so it was my first time in a Cabella's. Feels similar but more limited. Very clean and beautiful. The store allows overnight RV parking and has water.

I go here at least every other week. This store has a wide variety and competitive prices. Items for firearms, archery, fishing, camping, and more. At the back to the right is a room where they place their closeout and clearance items, I highly suggest you walk through this room if you visit.

Lots of hunting, fishing, and camping items. Went to buy light weight waterproof hunting boots. Unfortunately, nothing is inexpensive anymore. The lowest priced boot was Cabela's Redhead brand at $90.00. I wear a 13 and they didn't have my size. They do have some nice clothing for both women and men, but I didn't see anything on sale while I was there. They never have many checkout lanes open so it took a few minutes to get out with a few minor items.

Bought a bow online and picked up in store. Process was easy and fast. Store is down on stock due to supply shortage but they have more than I thought they would. Always clean and staff is always helpful. I have Cabelas gear that has lasted for many years.

They were so helpful and an employee went above and beyond looking for a certain hat in the back of the store. He could not find it, but my husband did and he showed the sales person and he was so excited for US to have found the hat. The check out lane employees were fun too. My husband make silly jokes and they were loving it. We will so come back!

I just wanted some 9mm and one of the employees told me that there are people that check every day and buy it up. So not cool. I really expected better control so others could make purchases.The manufacturers say they are making it and delivering it.

The little sister to Bass pro shops. Which unfortunately is why I gave it three stars, once you visit a Bass everything else seems to pale in comparison. When I visited they did not have the ammo I wanted (which is not their fault but a reality of our times). When I wandered the store it was nice, but it just did not have the ambiance of it's other sibling. Nothing to really knock here, just underwhelmed.

Cabela's is always very neat, clean and organized. The staff is super friendly. Today they had plenty of cashier's making last minute Christmas shopping easy. By far my favorite thing this Christmas 🎄 Season was their Santa 🎅. He was Awesome. My grand-kids loved it. We had a great time. The young photographer was so patient in snapping a good photo of 6 children with Santa. Thanks Cabela's for the free photo also. They definitely put me in the Christmas Spirit. Highly recommend.

My first visit was a little lackluster, with an employee telling me they didn't have any brass punch sets, despite me finding them 10 minutes later while perusing. Amount of registers open was minimal. My second visit was just fine, was able to return an item without problem and the process was fast and simple. I will be giving them return business.

It's August 2021. They are short staffed, but they have ammo! It may take you a while but you will walk out with ammo! Update March 2022. They hired more people but are out of reloading supplies. Still got more guns on the shelf than most places.

It's always a fun store to go into. You can find some good prices on some items, but never new firearms. I waited 30 minutes to purchase my used firearm - after completing the online 4473. A lot of employees standing around... Needs to be more efficient.

Nice store with a lot of wide variety of products. Most of the products were overpriced compared to what you can find either online or at other stores. I would have given a higher rating if there was staff actually there to help customers. Myself and another couple were in the shoe area and needed help but we couldn't find anyone to help so we just left.

Good variety for the outdoors. In the gun department has a decent variety of hand guns and rifles in comparison to other stores. Ammo is sparse in some calibers. Staff friendly and willing to assist. Store clean and well maintained.

I was there for Black Friday so I expected a wait in line. However, the time in line for the guns moved extremely slow. It took me an hour and 35 min. This was even with one employee (Bill) who was asking what people were waiting on. He actually was able to help me bypass some of the line. When I left an hour 35 min later, those in line in front of me were still waiting. Bill was awesome. He helped me and was helping where he could. Not enough employees there to help move the line along.

Great store, till bought out by Bass Pro, but staff are friendly. Of course no ammo (as it's the end of the world and all) decent fishing selection (unless your looking for a yellow perch whopper plopper) most things don't seem to have a price tag, but when you do find out how much it is you about have a heart attack. (since Bass Pro) also no military discount on guns or guns supplies (since Bass Pro) gun selection is nice, I usually go to check out the gun I want to see if I like it, then I go to a local good store and order it from there as it'll be 100-200 dollars cheaper that way. If money is no option to you then you can find anything you want, except ammo. Otherwise, I go to Academy, except for ammo, they have none either. (End of the world and all)

Cabela's staff greeted us as we came in the door and directed us right to the part of the store we were looking for. The store was spacious, perfectly designed for an outdoorsman place. Staff members in all departments were very customer oriented. I was very impressed with the way this business was operated.

We went to get farm/hunting boots. Found a great pair on sale and snake proof to boot! 👍 They appeared to have low stock for handguns and ammo. The salesman was so condescending to another customer that I didn’t even ask to look at anything. There is simply no excuse to try to make people feel badly because they aren’t as knowledgeable as you.

Absolutely love this store! Could spend a fortune here. The taxidermy is great only surpassed by the selection they carry in their inventory. The gun department has a great selection. Every Cabelas I have been in, isn't just a store it's kind of like an experience.

Online ordering is convenient, but please don't offer curbside pickup if you don't have the staff to do so. I called when I arrived as instructed - with no answer for 15 minutes, and finally had to go inside to ask for my item. Customer service sent me back out to my car. Still waiting.

The staff at Cabela's can direct you to the item that'll work best for you. And Vet's (GI) get a discount. Always s great shopping experience.

The best shooter store you could fine but they are getting away from the cabela's stuff the had been field tested and are becoming more of a bass pro. Cabela's used to have everything for fishing no matter how small and a lot of fishing stuff that you just couldn't get anywhere else is kinda gone with bass pro running the show. Would really like the old cabela's back.

I'm starting to not like Cabela's like it used to be, seems like the merger with bass pro really hurt it, the clothing section doesnt have a lot and the ones there are overpriced unless it's some deal. And as for ammo they have good prices and selection on usual calibers but anything special it's not here or sold out, and way over priced!

First time being here. The place is huge. The workers was really friendly. They asked if we needed help and directed us to where we needed to be. Very helpful. The store was in tact. I will visit again. They had clothes and shoes. They had rifles and guns for hunting. Hunting clothes and spices and cooking things. Check them out. It was a nice experience.

Great selection and friendly staff. OK it's a Cabelas', they are all pretty standard from store to store but this one has a good selection and the staff is friendly. While their prices vary from item to item you can get some things at very competitive prices. They also generally have a great selection of ammo.

I usually have good experiences at cabelas. But, Today one of there guys called me to let me know I could pick up a gun that i had been delayed on. He told me they were open until 8. I got there at 7:30 and the guy at the door said they weren't taking anymore gun customers for the day. Even though i had already paid and had my receipt they didn't have time to deal with me. I think they should try to let people know that if you get there 30 minutes beforeclosing time we might not be able to help you. It's only a half hour drive for me but it's a little frustrating to have to get up and make the trip again in the morning.

We visited Santa and the experience was amazing! Masks, gloves and social distancing were used. There was a glass barrier between us and Santa, yet he still gave our 6 year old one on one time to discuss whatever he wanted! And the picture is free!! We will definitely be back next year!

Went to pick up an ordered firearm with an ID that did not have my current address. Website and all emails say any supplementary federal issue document with the correct address will work so i used my vehicle registration. When i got to the store, the workers behind the counter would not honor this. In the end they can reject sale for any reason and I respect that, but I was told incorrect information and it cost me going to buy a new drivers license the same day in order to come back and pick up the firearm correctly. I had a whole week to do that if I had known that they would go against the stated company policies. In the end, I wish I had known about that and could have prepared, so take this as a warning. They have their own stricter rules and will deny the sale, which they are entirely allowed to do.

Have always been a big Cabela's fan but they have really cut back on hunting clothes that use to be in store items. They have down sized there stores square footage wise and it doesn't allow them to show more items. I've been in some of their larger store's and they are great but the Louisville store not that way. 😣 …

it was alright except for the very unpleasant female at the gun counter. she is always so rude to everyone customers and her co workers. she didn't even ask if she could help us with anything. all of her coworkers are so polite and courteous. my experience would have been much better if she had not been there. i don't know what her name was because I couldn't read her name tag. but if you ask the others in the gun section they can tell you who she is they don't want to work with her either. one of them apologized for her rudeness and asked if they could help us with anything but at that point we were upset and just left the store. so I'm going to give 4 stars instead of the full five because of this employee.

I loved the store and all they sell but it's truly nothing but a high pressure solicitation zone. Was badgered by EVERY employee to sign up for their credit card, they even want you to give them your cell number when you check out for their continued marketing. Haven't felt anyone wanted me for my money this bad since my teenage daughter lived at home! Just wanted to relax and enjoy time & shopping with my son on my B-day but their constant relentless pursuit of my wallet really made the whole experience sour. It'll be a long while before I go back.

It's Cabela's...of course it's awesome. I will say don't buy a gun from here, the customer service is almost always hit or miss if someone is available. Walked up to counter with a question and two guys helping one lady. Guy kept looking at me and couldn't even give me a "be with you in one second.". They're knowledge on firearms is questionable at best, hit or miss again depending who I talk to. All firearms are over priced even on sale. If you need a gun, buy from a local dealer or Shoot Point Blank. You get much better service and a better price. All my other outdoor and hunting/fishing needs though I'm at Cabela's.

It all depends on the time of day and the staffing. Best to look at guns during the day while they are more fully staffed. I gone in the evening and either had staff that treated you more like you are a bother than a customer. Or they really didnt know much about guns. But hey , you got to start somewhere. So I dont fault them for learning. Other depts have been wonderful and for the most part very helpful. I shop there at least 3-4 times a month. Sometimes its 3-4 a week.

A man's playground. From clothing to pocket knives, meat grinders to ammunition, hammocks to camping, under garments to outer wear, etc. Lots of etc. If you need something they'll have it. If they don't have in the store they will on line. Their service in store and on line is great. If you don't throw Cabella's into your top of mind places for what you need or want you're missing a major provider. They'll have it. Shipping to the store is always free. Returns with receipts of both, in store and online purchases, are easy and unquestioned at the store. Don't just visit this place use it.

The gentleman that helped us at the shoe section was extremely helpful. We ended up buying 3 pair of boots. The reason for only three stars is for the lack of associates at the gun counter. I wanted to buy a rifle scope and the wait to just talk to someone was over 30 + Minutes. I ended up leaving with just the boots. I will buy the rifle scope somewhere else. This place is like a Disneyland for dads!... and outdoor moms too. Wow! Selection is huge beyond description. If you want it, they've got it... in fact they'll have dozens of "them". Quality is very good. I've purchased guns, ammo, camping gear, knives, clothing and much much more, and I haven't even scratched the surface of what they offer. My favorite slippers of all time came from Cabella's. They also have a museum of trophy mounts as well as a massive fresh wter aquarium. Definitely worth a stop and look.

I have always had a great experience at this Cabela’s always greeted and treated nicely but this day I was approached and yelled at buy a associate named Amanda in the gun section for looking at guns behind the covid barrier, at one point was even told I couldn’t buy a gun. I was not anywhere near anybody the closest person to me was my wife who was at least 20 ft from me. I had been doing so for at least 10 minutes, all while she looked at her phone mind you, and then she suddenly got a very rude attitude and told me I couldn’t look. I completely understand the covid restrictions and admit fault to not following as I am still not used to this. I came into this store prepared to spend at least $1000 and at that point was prepared to leave but stoped to talk to a manager about my experience and was convinced to work with another employee. Chris and Aaron are absolutely fantastic and went above and beyond, even going as far to get my 5 year old a chair to sit in to be comfortable during this long process. At one point they were closing and I found another gun that I also wanted and Aaron stayed after hours to assist me. Wonderful job guys and very knowledgeable and you will forever have my business cause of how you provided for our 5 year old. Amanda on the other hand, I’d hate to see anyone lose a job, but maybe gun sales isn’t the business for you. I just want to be clear the 5 star rating is for AARON and CHRIS.

This was the first time i sat down with kiddos and played checkers and connect 4. The kids loved it. Dad was able to shop, though it was the wrong season and he wasn't able to find the sweatshirt he was looking for. We played several rounds and dad and other kiddos shopped. My 10 year old was able to score some super cute Chacos and she is over the moon. Great experience.

A visit to Cabela's is ALWAYS a good time. Especially when you bring the kiddos. Whether you are there to shop or just window shop, there is so much to see and do. For mom and dad they have clothing, hunting, fishing, camping supplies and more. For kids, they have craft tables and during the holidays they do free pictures with Santa! Cabela's is the only local store that carries this particular brand, caliber and weight that I was looking for. By the time that I arrived it was out of stock in the store. If Cabela's doesn't have it they will help you get it.

I love Cabelas. So much better experience than at Bass Pro Shops. For me anyway. Mainly because of the gun libraries. That is where all of the used guns are at Cabelas. I don't think Bass Pro deals in used guns. I have picked up several used rifles and pistols at 3 different Cabelas over the years. This particular store had knowledgeable folks that were helpful without being pushy or condescending. That's a fine line for a gun store employee to walk. These guys were top notch though. Great selection of new and used guns, ammunition, and pretty good list of reloading items as well. Folks in this area have a good store to go to if they are interested in guns.

It's a nice store and big selection . But their prices are super high. I usually go look at their selection and then go find it cheaper on Amazon or any other place. I know internet prices are always cheaper. But the price difference is ridiculous. The customer service has been good for the most part. When I had questions about wanting to look at a gun the guys behind the counter weren't very helpful. I'm not sure if I looked too young (I'm 28) or they thought I wasn't going to buy anything. Once they merged together to become a hunting, fishing, all-outdoors super-power, I expected to see item prices become more realistic and geared towards the thought of obtainability. So far, I’ve been wrong. Yes, for a genuine natured ‘go-getter’, it’s a solid packed supply of ‘must-have’ product that I only shop for at Cabela’s and purchase at Walmart. All said, I will still be a fan, and fate permitting, one day have enough expendable income to walk in and get that 80k dollar Bass Boat - and NOT have to live on it.

I have always loved Cabelas but sometimes I wish they offered a bit more brand selection. Some of their areas are mostly dominated with Cabelas brand items and while I understand that this allows them to sell items for cheap, sometimes I want a bit higher quality and would be willing to pay the higher prices. I went in for a pair of boots and the selection outside of the Cabelas brand was a bit thin. Still, this store is just perfect for any outdoorsman or sportsman as it has pretty much anything you would ever want or need.

Love Cabelas! Went for the free photo with Santa, because it was November we were able to get a picture package for only $5. The price goes up to $20 in December so go early if you can. Wife recently took me birthday shopping with the intent on my getting a new Henry Rifle as her present to me (great wife right). We ended up at Cabela's due to their better selection (of Henrys) and purchased a nice .22 WMR carbine at about $100 less then MSRP. Next weekend they had a sale on all of their Henry rifles! Went back to store and after discussion with the sales person who assisted me previously I ended up getting the difference in a gift card, even though by the letter of their policy I might not have qualified for refund. Great service.

I'm partial to Cabelas as to Bass Pro Shops. Don't get me wrong, I like BPS, I just happen to like Cabelas better. With that being said, my recent visit to Cabelas in Louisville was less than pleasant. First off, I have seen bigger Wal-Marts than this Cabelas. Not a huge issue but it would be nice to have some more roaming around space. It felt cramped and tight in there. Again, not a big deal, just something I noticed. While i understand that the staff there was still relatively new when i was there, it's still no excuse to not know what is in the store that you work in. Especially on very basic and common products such as Carhartt Jeans. The sales clerk that i had asked about the jeans to had told me that they don't sell Carhartt there. Sure, he may have been right about the jeans because i was unable to find any but he was most certainly wrong about the brand. As I walked around I was able to find a few Carhartt items on the shelves. Little things like this make customer service better and the shopping experience as a whole, more enjoyable. Lets just hope that my next visit is better. Maybe then I'll give them a better review. Not that it really matters though. Who really reads this crap.

Sure, I like Bass Pro and Academy. They exist - they have their strengths and weaknesses. But Cabela's has a freakin' gun room. It's like a museum but everything's for sale. Cannot go wrong there.
