Reviews of Adams Ordnance LLC Military Surplus
Adams Ordnance is simply the BEST place in Louisville for MRE's, used equipment and anything Military. Prices are very reasonable and the fellas there are incredibly knowledgeable!
BUT...It's MUCH much more than just a store. About one third of the space is dedicated to historical displays and my 10 year old son has literally spent HOURS there going through the items from WW1 through to recent deployments.
Sure...you can grab clothing, boots, knives, survival gear, uniforms, MRE's, patches, stickers, flags etc etc BUT ALSO get a history lesson. We LOVE this place.
Pro Tip - hunt through the MRE's for the PIZZA one - AWESOMENESS!
My "Go To" place for surplus items, hunting clothes and equipment. Friendliest folks you'd ever want to meet. I make the 60 mile trip whenever I'm in need of their merchandise.
Very good store along of cool things to look at. I was in a bind needing so black light weight tactical pant I had gone to academy sports and after being told they had them they didn't. Adams did and they were not bad priced, I will be back.
Absolutely astonishingly good service. Stock and prices are excellent and love going here. This isn’t just a store it’s pieces of history put into one place.
This place was amazing! Part museum part surplus store! Prices were good!
I love this place I bought a military cot to use over the holiday weekend at my son's house 🏠 🙌 …
This place has a great selection of inventory and a LOT of cool stuff to look at! It's part store, part museum! The owner is very friendly as well. Plan on spending an hour or more just looking at everything on display! We will definitely be back!
Great surplus store with very friendly staff and great prices. Need airsoft gear for the low? They got it all.
Absolutely amazing collection of history. Prices are extremely fair. Adam is a great guy and knows a lot of war history. Always enjoy coming here to purchase items for my personal WW2 collection.
This place has anything you need for a security job or ect. The guy is really nice and respectful
I was amazed that "An Outstanding Military Surplus Store." I was less than a mile from my house on Gardiner Lane!!!! The owner and staff were
friendly, courteous and more importantly knowledgeable about their products! The array of military items was awesome and had so much
for every branch of the military! My U.S. Marine buddy after seeing my
"U. S. Navy Jacket With Over 22 patches decided to do a U.S. Marine Jacket! I read a negative review about lacking a vast array of patches!
I immediately found patches that had eluded me after searching thousands of patches on Ebay. I wished that my discovery of this place
was before spending upwards of $100.00 in shipping prices! You can't beat the pricing on their pricing! It was unfair because this store would
need a warehouse to store over 100,000 patches believe me that how many are offered online! The US Army like Coca Cola has the greatest
array and "The Marines, Navy and Air Force" has the least in that order!
I bought several patches, a Jacket and a pair of official navy trousers! I
wholeheartedly award this store "5 Stars Wish It Could Be 10 Stars! I've only been to the store 2 times not on a first name basis with store
personnel but that going to change! I Just started a vest with only
2 patches and can't wait till Tuesday to "Pull The Trigger On More
Patches, A Sword & With The Unique Offerings Who Knows What
Else!!! I assume the owner was the tall guy with the glasses and
he was very helpful! Folks, with the pandemic everyone is short staffed
"Get Over It! You "Crybabies Need To Watch Adam Baldwin Addressing The Sales Staff In The Movie Glengarry Glen Ross!!!!!"
In different towns I like to check out Army & Navy surplus stores. Well today I stumbled across a nice little gem. The owner runs a fine establishment. Uniforms from past and present to challenge coins. MRE meals that have good dates. There is plenty of eye candy in this place. I bought two cases of MRE menu A, couple of technical manuals, pack of fifty 20" pipe cleaners for gas tube cleaning, canteen cup(nos), and an assortment of patches. Thank you so much Adams Ordnance! Airborne!
Decent quality items for a great price, I bought 3 gas mask filters for 5$ each a gas mask bag for 4$
Outstanding owner/staff . Store has good selections and prices. I would recommend for veterans, military, Law Enforcement, & general public!
Store is extremely well organized and has a museum like feel to it. Whole lot of historical stuff to marvel at. Staff is very friendly and we'll informed about everything in there. Definitely coming back!
A wide variety, topped with reasonable prices and friendly service, make Adams Ordnance the best place in Louisville for vintage militaria and military surplus. Any collector is likely to find something of interest here. Highly recommended!
This is by far the best Military surplus store I have ever visited and anyone would be hard pressed to find one even comparable. I highly recommend it. Larry really cares about his customers and sells great product at a fantastic price. I wish we had something like this in Georgia. Nevertheless, I will make the trip again!
Staff was friendly and able to help me pick out the boots I needed. They had a fitting room to change into them and try them out. Definitely would recommend for others trying to find cheap deals on military surplus gear.
Little heads up, Google maps will direct you accros the road from the actual place. Just turn across the street from the gun range.
I am at Ft. Knox. Well worth the drive. The prices and quality and selection is top notch. He has current as well as historical military gear. Nice and helpful staff. I highly recommend.
It's a really cool spot to get stuff for outdoor activities and military surplus. If they don't have it there, they can and will get it for you at a very fair price.
It was real fun to go there and look at all the original things and actually be able to hold some. Everyone there is really nice. I'd like to go again.
There are surplus stores that are mainly retailers of new “army/weapons” gear, and there are surplus stores that have mountains of old gear, sorta organized.. and places like this -run by a true collector. I travel a lot and visit lots of Army surplus stores as a hobby, and places like this are *very* rare... You won’t find anything like this within 300mi of here. Also found the owner to be very knowledgeable and helpful.
Friendly staff, ok selection, watch out on the prices; many things higher than I would have expected. Real positive note about store is the almost museum atmosphere with displays throughout. Lots of higher end merchandise too.
Good-looking store with a ton of US military stuff and other historical items. Staff was very friendly and made good conversation. Thanks, Larry, for the convo! Also found an old Mosin Nagant sling, which I didn't expect to find. Glad I visited and will come back again.
Very cool military surplus and war memorabilia here. Go in there and look around. I got a great deal on a 100% wool blanket and a gore-tex shell and bivy. There's tons of gear that have very practical non-military applications. Love.
Always a good time to come in and check out what's in stock. Great stock of first aid supplies, memorabilia, equipment, and clothing. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, will continue coming back!
It's a small store but amateur a museum. Beautiful pieces of history in glass cases. Very knowledgeable people.
Its a good store for hunting gear, military clothing, ammo tins, MRE's, and some cheap veitnam era AR-15 mags but if you are hoping to buy old tools, canteens, knives cooking gear, etc... do not expect to find very cheap or practical items. Also it is worth noting that the staff are very friendly and helpful and that it has miniature museums which are little cases full of items that were used by soldiers in their era's, for example a case of veitnam era US military GI items.
This place is great if you are a collector of old military stuff. However if you want more modern items like up to date military uniforms, patches, etc then this place is not it. They do have some, but are lacking.
Adams Ordnance Military Surplus Store has a great selection of US Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corp uniforms, patches and pins, US Army helmets and hats, backpacks, knives and swords, custom made dog tags and lots of gear from World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War and modern. Lots of cool displays, and a highly knowledgeable staff. I definitely recommend this store if you're into military collectibles or military re-enactments.
Very good example of what I grew up calling an "Army/Navy" store. I have very fond memories of going to Army/Navy stores with my father, a Vietnam veteran, when I was a kid. I remember all the old uniforms, surplus items and military paraphernalia. This is probably one of the closest examples of what I remember about Army/Navy stores from my youth. It has a great selection of items from uniforms, to knives, to MRE's and pretty much everything in between. The staff is very friendly as well, they are happy to answer questions and discuss items with you.
One or two army surpluses in the city of Louisville. I have a wide variety of military items. From the bygone eras of Vietnam to the battle dress uniform of today. Weatherby antiques are artifacts you're looking for you'll find it here.
These people that work here are amazing and do helpful, do not listen to the negative ratings because they are wrong. Please support them and give them 5 stars. If you dont believe me, go up there yourself and see what I mean. Even the selection of military gear is way more than ive ever seen anywhere else.
Great for those who are interested in military memorabilia. Had dog tags made there, turned out great. Great prices.
Great folks and a huge selection of gear….
I stop in every time I am in town….
This place is amazing. The prices on the majority of things are MUCH cheaper than you can find online (i.e. The regularly have like new Camelbak's for circa $25) The owner is also super helpful, if you don't see what you're looking for ask him, he can probably help you out.
The new location is much easier to get to than the old one. Great selection and prices. Staff is friendly and very willing to answer any questions. Bring cash since credit cards are not accepted.
One of the best military surplus stores I've been to, lots of cool stuff, decent prices, and variety. The owner is a nice guy too.
