Relaxing, comfortable, great attention to detail! I got a hydrotherapy session done with two friends and we left feeling so rejuvenated and relaxed. You get a great value for the price, too! Two and a half hours of pure Bliss. The Epsom Salt bath was my personal favorite, but my friends liked the Dead Sea Salt Bath the most! We'll definitely be back! 🧘‍♀️🚿💆‍♀️💧

Came here for an afternoon at the spa doing the water therapy. Such a relaxing way to spend a couple hours. The locker rooms for changing before and after are nice and clean. The only downside is this space is very small, if there is more than ~5 other people doing the water experience at the same time you start to feel like you are just on top of everyone else.

My husband and I visited here for the hydrotherapy experience. I must say we enjoyed it a lot. It felt like taking a vacation without the jet lag feeling. We had it done previously out of state and we prefer Bodhi Spa’s experience better since it’s smaller and had less people. The staff was warm and friendly. I also like the fact that after there was a survey and when I submitted the survey a member of the team reached out to me concerning my recommendation. I like places where they consider customers/ clients feedback to be essential in improving.

I absolutely loved this place! It is so calm and serene. The staff were so attentive and sweet. The music they play really sets the scene for relaxation. The facilities were so clean and the massage was amazing! It was easy to find parking on the street outside and they also send me instructions ahead of time. I felt like a million bucks when I left and I would highly recommend this place. Can't wait to go again next month!

This was my first visit and it was awesome! The locker rooms was very clean. I read reviews which helped me pick Kylie to take care of me. She was awesome, she gave me a massage and an organic facial. She paid attention to my needs during my massage & explained everything with my facial. She took her time and made me feel comfortable. Absolutely love Bodhi…both Providence and Newport! I’ve been solo, with a friend and with groups (both open and private). Every experience has been nothing less than stellar. I recently brought my partner for his birthday and he loved it as well. Making the water journey a regular part of our wellness and date nights. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The explanation of the flow of service is always clear and concise. Facilities are so well maintained.

I went with a couple friends and really enjoyed the water journey. It was a great experience and I would highly recommend it! It was so relaxing and different than any regular spa experience I've ever had. I also got a signature massage with Logan as my massage therapist. He was phenomenal. He did a wonderful job loosening my many knots and was so knowledgeable that he gave me pointers on how to keep them at bay on a daily basis. I would take the drive across two states just to go back to him. My friends also had massages and spoke very highly of their massage therapists as well. I would say an absolute must try.

UPDATE: Several days after this review was posted, my wife received a call from Kylie, the head massage therapist at the spa. She was very concerned, saddened and apologetic about the experience my wife had, and wanted to try to make things right. She offered us a complimentary, hour-long couples massage, which we took her up on a week later. Marge had a deep-tissue massage with Natalie, and I opted for the Swedish massage, with Kristie. As I mentioned, I'm not even really a fan of massage, but I found the experience very relaxing and pleasant. Marge said her massage was what she had hoped for in the first place. Natalie and Kristie were very professional, and honored our request that they wear masks without complaint. Vilma was pleasant and helpful in the locker room. We had an enjoyable experience. I really appreciated that the spa's management valued customer service enough to reach out to us and more than make up for an originally unpleasant experience. Thank you! I gave my wife a gift certificate to the Bodhi Spa as a Valentine’s Day present, and this week she finally got around to using it. I bought it thinking she would enjoy the water journey, which we’ve heard good things about, but instead she chose a half-hour deep-tissue massage. I’m not a fan of massage, so she went alone. She has probably had a hundred massages in her lifetime, most of which she has described as very good, and so I called her after I knew her appointment was over, eager to hear how it went and hoping that this one had been exceptional (at $80 for a half-hour, one would expect it to be at least on the better side of OK). My heart sank when she said it was “the worst massage ever.” She said the appointment got off to an uncomfortable start when she politely asked the massage therapist to wear a mask, as she was doing. Although many people want to believe the pandemic is suddenly over, my wife works in the medical field and is very diligent about protecting herself and others when in close contact with people. As my wife described it, the therapist acted annoyed at the mask request and said that she was vaccinated — as is my wife — before finally saying she “would try to find one.” After donning a mask, the therapist proceeded to do a “lame” massage without saying another word, according to my wife. My wife said that she felt very uncomfortable throughout the session, and left thinking that she could have had a better outcome had she used her massage roller at home. She said that after she got dressed, she was asked by the concierge about her experience. She told her she was not happy with the massage, and was then offered 20 percent off in the form of a credit. She was then asked if she wanted to leave a gratuity, which she declined because of her bad experience. She was then asked if she wanted to give her $11 credit to the massage therapist. Knowing she had no desire to return, my wife, who usually is a very generous tipper, agreed. Had my wife’s experience been better, we would no doubt have gone back together to enjoy the water journey, and she might have booked more massages. Instead, we will choose to spend our money at a spa where public health and safety and respect for the individual are priorities. People go to spas to relax and forget their cares, not to be treated with indifference or contempt. My wife did say that the locker room attendant was wonderful.

Not giving a 5 because although the massages have all been amazing, when I booked the water journey they unfortunately booked me so that I only had about a 1/2 hour to spend in it before my massage was expected to start. I was told my massages would start ”after the water journey” and when I arrived was told I had about 45 minutes until the massage. I spoke with the front desk after the massage and they didn’t charge me and told me the manager would call. The water journey is supposed to be about 2 hours. While I appreciated not being charged, I never received a call about the confusion :( everything else was wonderful

I had a facial with Sarah and it was an incredible experience! From the moment you step in to the last towel thrown in the basket, my experience was one of a kind. The amenities provided were high quality and in good condition. I appreciated the microfiber towels they use as opposed to normal cotton. In regards to the facial, Sarah was an incredible provider. She was extremely detailed and caring to explain the process and ensured I was comfortable throughout it. She did an exceptional job and would recommend her services to anyone. Thank you so much!

I’ve never done a cold plunge or any type of hydrotherapy before, however a coworker kept raving about it, so I recently decided to give it a go! The experience was fantastic and I felt so relaxed after, I slept longer that night than I can ever remember too. I enjoyed the time and they have a circuit you can follow if you’re new to it which was great. The locker rooms were super clean and had some nice things like moisturizer and a bathing suit wringer. Can’t recommend the water journey enough, especially for the price. Shout out to Liz, Viczaida, and Gracia (I hope I got those right) for helping make the experience top notch!

Love coming here for Hydrotherapy! Very nice place to relax in peace and quiet you just have to hope the other attendees are there to do the same and that is not always the case. Most excellent afternoon of taking care of myself via my first trip on the water journey at Bodhi Spa. Clean, safe, comfortable and invigorating. Almost chilled the vibe when I said HELLO in a voice above a whisper to an old friend I hadn’t seen in years who was soaking with his wife in the 105 degree mineral pool as I walked in. Then remembered silence is golden rule at Bodhi. I will be back for a couple more water journeys before the first day of spring.

We enjoyed our experience at Bodhi Spa! We had been looking for a water journey nearer to home after experiences at Aire. It was lovely! There was plenty of space and even though it was pretty full, we felt comfortably spaced and not crowded. Everything was clean and the attendants were fantastic. Leticia, Vilma & Marilyn helped us with anything we needed and kept checking in. It's incredible how the circuit can help your body release tension. The only thing that would have been helpful was a more clear chart on the wall as it was hard to follow aspects of the journey, but since you really can't do it wrong, it wasn't that big a deal.

I adore the bodhi spa water journey. You may follow the regimen or diy, but I feel it is super valuable for the time and services you receive. I one time left a bathing suit hang to dry in a public space while getting my facial in a private space…I came back and there was no suit! Crisis averted, staff washed and dried it for me! There is a newer staff member, Ashley, who helped me recently with some questions. She is very helpful, professional and caring. I lived in PVD for awhile before I started coming here, don’t wait!

A very pleasant two hours spent going through the water journey. The staff is helpful and attentive. Switching from heat to cold and back again is the secret to the relaxation and stimulation you receive.

Edit: The owners reached out to contact me about my prior review. I appreciate their due diligence so was going to increase it to 3 stars, given that the experience was quite good in all other aspects but for the disrespect to my friend and I. They seemed eager to resolve the matter in a fair way, and I appreciate that. Given that the employee had no prior offenses on record, their response seems measured & sensible, and it's commendable that they aren't employee-hostile in a completely one sided way as a policy, so I'm actually giving them 4 stars for being ethical managers. Businesses can easily overcorrect to being very toxic work environment with diva customers, and though I know I am in the right, they do not necessarily know that and are honorably acting out of cautious loyalty to those they do at least think they know. Original: Overall an excellent experience; fabulous amenities, and the lady attending the locker rooms was super sweet & cool like you’d expect at this kind of place, but the receptionist was killing the vibe and had a really nasty, catty attitude from the moment we came in. Very mean girl & snarky, with eye rolls and basically just not the person you want to be a greeter at a “soothing” namaste kind of business. (Whereas the other lady was perfectly lovely & what you’d expect.) When I was leaving, I thought maybe I’d just caught her at a bad moment earlier because she seemed much more professional, but then I asked her if she’d let my friend - following me out - know that I’d gone to the car, she smiled sweetly and said, “Sure!” in such a contrary way to her initial demeanor that it made me wonder if she was messing with me. And then I waited in the car for 20 minutes while my friend, out 2 minutes after me, waited 20 minutes in the lobby with her sitting there, ignoring him, despite him telling her who he was and she knowing that was the same friend. In other words, this was intentional (and bizarre?) rudeness. Just having a bad day? Anyway, it soured the overall experience. Suggestions for improvement (which occurred to me later & weren’t a reason the lady had an attitude - I’d actually been pretty naively enraptured & excited at the time, not being fussy or snobby…haha - but if the owners were my friends, this is what I’d tell them): 1) the signage could be better at the spa, including whether or not bathing suits are required (this is not clearly advertised & most spas are clothing optional - and per another person, this is a common mistake people make because it is so unclear - so they could save their customers a lot of embarrassment by making this more obvious). But also including the suggested process/cycle of rotations, the sign for which is in a single dark corner and impossible to read if you have poor eyesight. 2) the lemons in the lemon water weren’t washed, so the water tasted strongly of rind pesticides. (This probably seems nitpicky & even many restaurants are oblivious of the need to wash lemons, but lemons are one of the most pesticide-treated crops up there in the top 10 with soy and corn, it’s usually glyphosate being used, and some people are pretty sensitive to it - getting sore throat & digestive issues after exposure is actually relatively common. I don’t blame the folks here in the slightest for not knowing, but it does represent room for affordable, easy improvement.) 3) Just a suggestion, but stainless steel or copper drinking glasses would be better than plastic (given that glass isn’t practical), which leaches various estrogenics & carcinogens/mutagens among other things, even in cold environments because of unstable molecular bonds. Especially in acidic (lemony) conditions. However, the real issue of all of this was the terrible experience with the lady at the counter tonight, and because of this person, I can’t recommend the spa to anyone and will next time go to one of the other many excellent local options, at least as I’m aware that the spa hires such unprofessional & mean spirited staff. It makes the entire “aura of wellness” feel very phony & cynical.

The hot water/cold water combo is amazing and creates an effect that is truly remarkable. You can't get this relaxed in many other ways. If you can add a massage from a great therapist this can be a really transformational experience. This new location is very well done and high quality and I can't wait to come back.

My husband and I visited on January 1st as a way to ring in the New Year. It was our first visit -- and we loved it! Jade and Alexis were the staff on hand, and they were warm and welcoming. The facility was clean and professional. We were two of about 8 people during our time slot, so we were able to maintain some distancing in the pools and rooms. Being in bathing suits in close proximity with others can feel weird sometimes, but I felt comfortable and safe. I would highly, highly recommend!!

Front staff were very friendly and accommodating, helping me check on my boyfriend since it was his first time at a spa. Relaxing atmosphere and good offerings of water and tea for waiting room. We both got Shoulders, Neck and Scalp massage. My massage therapist was Kylie and she was phenomenal! Very respectful, quiet and thorough, even going past the shoulders and doing some back and light arm massage. The scalp massage was heavenly as was the shoulders and neck, the massage was truly fantastic and I wish I could go back daily. My partner had Jen and they had wonderful conversation throughout his service and had some good knots massaged out on his back, unfortunately he didn’t get as much neck and scalp attention but he very much enjoyed his service. Will go back if we get the chance!

Had such a nice solo spa day at Bodhi! Started with the water journey and finished with a deep tissue massage. I really enjoyed the water journey and have already recommended it to friends. The ambiance is quiet and relaxing and I enjoyed cycling through the different amenities. The eucalyptus steam room was my favorite spot. My massage with Elena was AMAZING and the perfect was to top off a day of pampering. I will 100% be going back on my own and also with friends!

Love this spa!! The water journey is amazing. Helpful signs in the room, relaxing music, drinking water available and super clean. Additionally, Siobhan gives the BEST massages I have ever had. I recently had a Swedish massage with her and the pressure was great, she checked in to make sure I was happy, and she was very kind. From desk staff is always wonderful as well. Everyone here is super helpful and kind. I've been here several times now and have not booked anywhere else since!

Excellent spa in downtown Providence. My partner booked us a couples massage for my birthday, and it was incredible. I recommend getting one that’s longer than 30 mins because you won’t want to get up. The water experience was also very nice, although I felt like it should be included if you book a service. Best of all, I accidentally left the ring and necklace I had been wearing in the pocket of my robe, and they were kind enough to mail them to me 2 states away, free of charge. Very nice people

This is definitely my preferred location! I love how close it is to home, and have never had any major issues here. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I don't understand Bodhi's owners insistence on having facilities in areas with no dedicated parking. This adds an unnecessary level of stress to the experience and deters a lot of patrons resulting in lost revenue. This location has much more available street parking, but you still sometimes have to drive around to find anything. Also, sometimes the water journey is more of a noisy way too crowded frat party which I try to avoid at all costs by going on weekdays, but it seriously detracts from the relaxation and experience! I bet a lot of people would pay a little more to deal with less people for sure. Some nights, it's perfect though, when there are just enough people but they're all quiet and respectful 🙏 Definitely worth a try if you get a chance!

Hidden Gem. We did the water journey, which was incredible. 2 sauna's (one infared, one traditional with steam), 2 hot tubs (one at 104, on at 98 degrees- dead sea pool), one cold water bath at 55 degrees, and a steam room that is top notch. Really nice facility. I left feeling incredible.

First of all please bring your vaccination card so you don’t have to keep your mask 😷 on through the whole experience. it was one of the most amazing evenings of my life the experience is beyond amazing everything is so clean everybody was very helpful and remember to whisper when you’re inside the relaxation water experience area. The spa assistant’s Liz and MARILYN 🤗 were amazing . I mean amazing when we arrived a spa assistant came out greeted us helped us, showed us everything we needed and more and was so conscientious throughout the evening you never saw that girl stand still she was folding towels she was moving she was replacing things in the inventory area she was replacing the water they refilled some ice in the cold plunge because it had gotten a little bit warmer they ran back-and-forth I think six times and put more ice in there they were just amazing , It is worth every penny. Everybody needs to try this an experience it live your best spa life

My husband and I did the water journey and it was awesome! Everything was so clean and tranquil. Our experience started with a friendly greeting from the front desk and a warm eucalyptus face cloth. They also provided slippers, robes, and towels. The changing room had lockers and clean showers with everything you'd need... down to mouthwash! The water journey had different soaking pools (hot and cold!), a steam sauna, and different saunas with cucumber or lemon water available to stay hydrated. They even have a quick dryer for your wet swimsuits for when it's time to go home. We are planning to go again because we enjoyed it so much.

Honestly the best $70 I've spent in a long time ... it's so relaxing. When I started I was like there is no way people spend 2.5 hours here but before I knew it I was there for 2 hours. The have a clear system for you to follow and as long as you go from hot to cold you are pretty good. It's a shared experience so I can see an unruly patron leading to a horrible time but when I was there everyone was pretty respectful of everyone else.

I’ve come here about 4 times already in the last couple of months for the water journey. It really is relaxing but I’ve noticed that the last two times I’ve been here it does get really loud. The whisper policy really isn’t enforced which is honestly really disappointing considering that’s part of the experience. I’m not sure if the workers aren’t allowed to say anything but it’s getting to the point now where it just feels like a public pool and not a spa. I’m going to give them another chance because it really is a hit or miss at this point but i wish they enforced it. I’m giving 3 stars because it really is a super clean facility. So I’m changing my review to 5 stars they were very professional and contacted me after posting the above review. I was still going to continue to visit the spa but they were very nice and offered a free water journey due to the previous experience. Great customer service. I did notice that this time when I came in the receptionist did advise me if the noise gets too loud to let them know which is fine but it would be a better suggestion to have an employee just check in once in a while. there were times where the noise did get out of hand mostly when others would access the cold plunge (I know it’s hard to get used to) but other then that it was a much better time than the previous one. another suggestion would be to possibly offer a time slot for those that go alone? it seems most of the noise is coming from those that come with others.

This has been my go to happy place for a long time But lately it seems as though they're overbooking. It seems a lot more crowded than usual ,a lot more noise and chatter. People had to wait to use the spa anemities due to too many people being there. I found it very hard to relax the last few visits.

The water journey offered by the Bodhi Spa is fantastic. Going weekly has reduced my pain days dramatically. This well appointed spa is staffed by very helpful and friendly people who always have a smile for you after you've relaxed in their healing waters. Services offered beyond the water journey have been reported as very good but I stick to the baths. Always clean, with plenty of fresh dry towels at hand, and I especially love the cool cloths brought around while soaking. Chilled Cucumber and Lemon water keep you hydrated between saunas and the steam room, and the waterfall showers in the bathing area are wonderful to cool down with if the cold plunge is too much. Never over crowded, there is always a space to be found. I highly recommend finding time to spend here, well worth it!

Overall, pretty awesome and relaxing. I think the price was very reasonable for our 2 1/2 hours of the water journey. The only negative was that people did not shower between sauna, steam room and the cold bath. But, it was very relaxing and my arthritis joints needed it. I will go back

I tried the Bodhi Spa in providence for the first time this month as a birthday experience for myself. I did the water journey and it was amazing. I loved going through each step and it is very relaxing. There were a couple of guests who were not adhering to the whispers only policy and the staff remedied the situation very quickly. They check back there often and always have fresh infused water available. It was a very personal and luxurious feeling spa day!

Hands down one of the most sensational experiences of my life. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the entire visit. Highly recommend alone or a small (quiet) group. I give it a 4 instead of 5 stars because of the amount of people in the area, which unfortunately, did take a bit from the experience due to the chatter and having to wait for certain pools/rinsing showers, or rooms. I noticed a few things I wish were different but in no way take away from the experience. I list these because I have high anxiety and want to forewarn anyone visiting who may also stress out about these types of things. 1. The suggested Journey map is on a wall in the corner by the Epsom Pool -- it's not easily viewable from the locker rooms, so you will need to stand in the middle of the room to view it. 2. The Pools are not clearly labeled (there is a small plaque on the wall of each pool but not easily noticeable unless your either looking for it or already sitting in the pool). (That being said, the start of the journey is the Dead Sea Salt Pool which is furthest from the map, the Epsom Pool is by the map, and the Cold Plunge Pool is in the middle of the room.) 3. Don't skip the cold plunge -- if you cant last 30 sec to a minute, I highly suggest walking in and out fully a few times. It really adds a dimension to the relaxation when you enter the pools or rooms after the plunge. 4. The steam, infrared, and sauna are not clearly labeled but they are self explanatory. The Sauna is in the main room (door by the refreshing drinking water), the steam room is off an alcove room that has (amazingly comfortable) lounge chairs, and the infrared sauna is directly across from the steam room (small sauna which fits 2-3 I believe). 5. You don't need to follow the Journey. After a few rounds of following the suggested journey, I started to stay longer in areas and skips others entirely. Its your own pace and everyone is doing their own thing. Highly recommend this experience; I plan on returning soon!

My experience at the Bodhi Spa is not what you think. I only went in with my daughter to buy a gift card for my wife, but the service at the counter was so refreshing. The spa was busy that day and there must have been 8 people waiting after us. They're we're 3 women working at the desk- all amazing and super helpful.

I loved it. (I also visited the newport location which seems to look a bit smaller but in a sense is actually the same size. Just less space. Only thing is, that location doesn't allow a separate stall for changing. Changing would take place in shower stall or bathroom stall. Otherwise everything was wonderful.) Definitely will be going again and again for this wonderful relaxing experience and I highly recommend it.

The "Water Journey" was the most perfect bath/spa experience! Staff were wonderful, and facilities were immaculate. The robe and sandals provided we're so comfortable. My only suggestion would be to bring all your own toiletries for after the spa, because they only have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, mouthwash, and body lotion.

Our massages were amazing! The HUGE problem was booking! It was our anniversary and we booked a couples massage and didnt get that. Very disappointed. I wouldnt have booked for that price and this place if they would have told me it wouldnt have been a couples.

Remember pajama parties? Getting together with a group of your besties with no make up, raw intimacy, great stories and free therapy? Imagine all that with Arctic plunges, Dead Sea salt pools, steam, body loungers, and sauna... Yes! That is the experience you will have during your “water journey” at the Bodhi Spa. Just when you’ve maximally turned up the heat in one of the heavily heated pools or sauna, one of the delightful staff members turns up with refreshing eucalyptus scented iced cloths to cool off with. There are ample lockers and towels, beautiful robes, plenty of cucumber or lemon water and an attentive team of employees. The gracious and welcoming manager cleverly showed our group of 8 women the beautiful treatment rooms for everything from facials to couples massages. Naturally we all decided we will be going back quarterly. Massage anyone??

I went to the bodhi spa on Saturday and had an amazing time. The staff were very nice and knowledgeable. I did the water journey, 60mims massage and an hour facial. My massage with Dan was great and I felt so relaxed after. He hit all my aching points. My facial was great. She was very knowledgeable in skin care and skin routines. I left there with a new face lolll. The water journey was amazing. Lots of things to do and the place wasn’t crowded. If 1 area was occupied, there were plenty of other areas to use. The facility was very clean.My only issue was that after spending almost 5 hours there, I left feeling so dizzy due to hunger. Maybe some snacks for the long appointment could be offered.

I had issues booking over their website. It said on the site that there where openings but when I hit the book button it went to a blank screen. I followed the websites suggestion where it clearly states: If you are experiencing ANY trouble booking please don’t hesitate to call us directly. We are grateful for your visit and very happy to assist you. Don't bother calling them. The receptionist was rude and not accommodating at all. She insisted that the times I am looking at are booked and did not offer any other dates and times, after I asked. * I want to make sure this gets noted. I tried sending another review after we visited the Providence Location, but could not send another review. After the initial issue, I received a phone call from the director of the spa. And we had a very pleasant conversation that ended in us visiting the spa again. And we LOVED the experience. We will be back! I was impressed, especially as a business owner myself, that the director tried everything to make this right.

I had a really lovely and relaxing facial. At the end I put some of my jewelry in the pocket of my robe to put on in the locker room but completely forgot them and threw the robe in the basket. I realized 20 minutes later and went back but the robe had already been put in the washer (which I suppose tells you how tidy it is there). The staff went and searched through the washer/dryer for me to find the jewelry and were very kind.

The first time I visited this spa for a prenatal massage the entire experience was absolutely wonderful. The massage therapist Sarah F. was amazing, can't say enough good things. Fast forward, my family gifted me another prenatal massage for my birthday and I made a reservation (fully aware of the strict 24 hour cancellation policy) The morning of I woke with an absolutely miserable cold. I called as soon as they opened to reschedule, the receptionist graciously waived it for me the first time but then had a complete attitude when I asked her if she could just reschedule it for me with Sarah. She said "Well, what day do you want to come in?" and I asked if she could just let me know her availability and I'll work around that. She was proceeded to rudely tell me "Well.... I just need A DAY." I explained I have a baby and can't randomly just pull a day out of thin air. She then said well you can just rebook online we don't actually process the gift card until you come in. OK, no problem. Just not the kind of service or attitude I would assume a spa receptionist would have. Honestly I rebooked the massage because I don't want to waste it but I'm completely put off by this location now. Fully understand the strict cancellation policy but in terms of accommodating people with colds that do not want to get YOUR staff sick, I think we should be treated a little more respectfully. Will take my business elsewhere next time.
