Pilar was AMAZING! She’s actually the best masseuse I’ve ever had. She really made sure I felt comfortable and there wasn’t enough pressure in certain areas. She really made my self-care day very relaxing. The vibe was so nice too. Cute house and spacious rooms. Very relaxing as soon as you walk in. Front desk staff is very welcoming as well. Shelly I think she’s the front house manager was also so amazing. There were a few problems with charges on my card and Shelly made sure to go above and beyond to clear them up especially because this was my birthday vacation. She was very sympathetic and empathetic. The manager was also so amazing during this situation. I will definitely be coming back when I vacation in Portland. If you live here don’t sleep on this Gem 💎 it’s absolutely amazing

I booked the Divine Spa Ritual package that included a massage, facial and foot treatment. Pilar was amazing for the massage. Highly recommend booking with her. Also, book your massage in the salt room! Very cool experience. The cocoa butter add on is worth it too. I also got to try the red light treatment which was a great experience. The facial and foot treatment were also wonderful. Overall, I’d highly recommend this spa. Some things to note: it didn’t look handicapped accessible at all. Lots of stairs. There are not any soaking pools or saunas, etc. I didn’t get a receipt and I was charged some kind of extra small fee ($4 and change) which wasn’t the package or gratuity, but since I didn’t get a receipt I have no idea what the fee was for. I should have asked for one, but I also think it should just be automatically provided.

From the time you arrive until you leave, you're treated very well by a professional and attentive team from Zama massage. I had the Men's Wellness package which included a facial, 90 min deep tissue massage, and foot soak and scrub. They give you a comfortable robe and lead you place to place for each service. I had never received a facial so I can't speak to the quality, but it seemed very well done, between the hot towel treatments and treatments used. The massage was also well done with no unnecessary talking, but she did make sure the pressure was right and I was enjoying it. The foot scrub was also great and again the treatments seemed top quality. I was also provided with drinks along the way which made the experience much more comfortable. The ambiance including furniture also added to the experience. Parking is behind the building but limited to a few spots so you may need to street park. Thanks Zama Massage!

Pilar is fantastic! I got a deep tissue massage and had a wonderful experience. Pilar listened to my needs and gave me a wonderful massage. There is also a few parking spots behind the building, which makes getting there less stressful! The front desk staff is friendly as well.

My partner and I visited for a couple's spa day for his birthday. We booked the Couple's Himalayan Dream massage and the side by side soothing foot treatment. Lisa and Pilar delivered a fantastic couples massage experience. They were attentive to our needs and frequently checked in to make sure we were comfortable throughout the massage. We loved the Himalayan Salt room - it was a very soothing environment. Merissa and Audra, who took care of our foot treatment, were very friendly and personable. We felt well cared for and extremely relaxed. We'll definitely be visiting again

This spa is decadent and gorgeous on the inside. You would never know on the outside being that it comes across as a humble home. The services are impeccable and gracious, wonderful demeanor. Had a wonderful, romantic couples package here. Would highly recommend to anyone to recharge in this spa.

My first time ever doing a real spa day! I did the divine ritual spa package and each treatment was incredible. Logan is a massage master, hit every point i needed and was very kind and professional. Christina provided the most relaxing pedicure experience, as well as my custom facial. I learned a lot with facial products which I’m so grateful for! Overall the shop is so relaxing with thoughtful touches in each room. Very sweet front desk staff as well. Can’t wait to book my next service, need to try the salt room!

I have a hard time relaxing and my mind races so it's unusual that I leave a spa treatment feeling this relaxed. Massage therapists and estheticians have always been a gamble for me. This time I won. The entire staff was wonderful, including the front desk. I got the Divine Spa Ritual which includes a massage, facial and pedicure. These services aren't your go-to normal boring ones either. Kim was my masseuse and she gave me the perfect balance of a therapeutic and relaxation massage. I felt so rested afterward. Then Natashia did my facial and pedicure. She was so good, she made extractions relaxing. Not kidding. I loved it. These ladies have a magic touch. I rebooked with both of them, and that's huge for me because my insurance covers massages elsewhere but Zama has me hooked. I haven't been this relaxed in a very long time!

Just had one of the best massages ever. My friend and I are in Portland from Seattle for a girls weekend, and I got a hot stone massage with Alex. I was really impressed when I told him where I was sore from lifting my 1-year-old and he knew the exact muscles/ligaments I was talking about. And then I was EXTREMELY impressed when he asked if I was still nursing, which I am, because he said it’s common for nursing mothers to be sore in that spot. The entire massage was really pleasant, Alex is definitely a pro, and I’m pleased with my decision to try this place!

I really enjoy the treatments, but the fact that you can't change or cancel your appointment online, only book, is incredibly frustrating. You have to call to make any appointment changes. I have had one facial that wasn't great, but the hydro facial and massages have been terrific.

My partner and I enjoyed a couples massage, it was one of the best massages. We chose the Himalayan salt room with salt rocks massage and added warm coco butter massage oil. It was absolutely divine. The coco butter had a nice pleasant aroma while the hot salt rocks relaxed my sore and tense muscles. We left floating on cloud nine. Everything from to start to finish was great.

This cozy spa is a renovated old house off of Broadway. The ambiance is exactly what you would want from a spa - soothing, hushed and peaceful. The front desk gal called my fiance and I the day before to remind us to come in early to fill out paperwork so we could have the maximum amount of time for our massage. We had the Couple's Date Night package and we're put up in the Sapphire room. Everything in this spa is clean and relaxing. We had therapists Patrick and Garrett. This was our first massage and I felt comfortable the entire time. They walked us both through how everything was going to go, consulted us on what areas of focus we'd prefer, and made each transition very smooth. Garrett did a wonderful job with making sure not to use too much pressure on me, as I am sensitive, and made sure to listen to my needs throughout the service. Afterwards we got to sit in a little quiet nook to enjoy a beverage and a chocolate treat. I want to come back soon for other services. 10/10 would recommend.

Daniel did such a great job listening to my body! I told him what areas I wanted to focus on because of previous car accidents and he worked in those and the surrounding areas. He was soft-spoken, considerate and was all around an amazing therapist. He really helped relieve some constant pains. I look forward to scheduling with him again!

Update: Originally this place was 5 stars, but last time I was there the quality had dropped quite a bit. The facial I usually get was NOTHING like it was before and seemed like it was missing quite a few things. The massage and pedicure were still very good. I know they've had a lot of staffing issues b/c of COIVD (who hasn't). I hope they work these out and get back to their previous 5 star quality.

Wow, I had the most amazing experience at Zama on Thursday! I booked 3 sessions, started with a massage by Liza, moved onto a pedicure with someone whose name I'm unsure of, and finished with a facial by Liza. Liza is AMAZING, I truly can't say enough good things about her both as a massage therapist and as an esthetician. I will definitely be back and I will be asking for her specifically. The only thing that could've made my experience better would be for the spa to have individual bottles of water available either for free or purchase. Being there for 3.5 hours and not having access to water was a bit rough for me personally.

I've been going to Zama Massage since 2017, and I enjoy the atmosphere. The "salt cave" rooms are beautiful and very relaxing, but even a massage in one of their regular rooms is lovely. My favorite treatment is a 90-minute deep tissue with hot stone add-on or cupping add-on (I won't do cupping in warmer weather, though, as it can leave bruises that scare folks). COVID has changed a lot of policies but I think they do a great job at making the experience feel safe and sanitary. I would also make sure that you book far enough in advance, as they can get booked up quickly, and to be reasonably flexible as far as which therapist you go to. I have had several therapists over the years at Zama, as people do sometimes move out of the city or to other massage therapy centers. Pre-COVID I had my first facial treatment here and that was absolutely delightful; I look forward to trying this again once fully vaccinated!

Me and and a date went to get a couples massage it was the best hotel environment I have ever been in. We got to go into the coolest room I have ever seen, you would just have to go to see it can't be explained but just great energy room. The massage therapist I had was wonderful observant of what I needed and I felt wonderful afterwards. Had a great experience at Zama for my first massage! The staff was super nice and the environment had a very homey relaxing feel. I went in to try and find relief from chronic low back pain that was effecting all aspects of my life. I had a deep tissue massage with Megan that has helped tremendously. I don’t know if it was just the massage or the advice she gave(she was very informative on what I could do at home to help) but it’s been a week and my back is feeling so much better! I'm blown away by the staff and quality of this spa. I had the CBD package and every part was completely catered to me and was absolutely the best spa experience. The pedicure was the best pedicure that I have ever had and the polish they use stays for so long! The masseuse was so professional and I felt like she was actually listening to the issues I had with my shoulder and worked that area to most and actually helped my issue. I received my first facial ever and it was truly wonderful, my skin still feels fantastic. And all with COVID happening, I felt like they handled themselves and their clients with extreme professionalism while still providing an amazing experience. THANK YOU !!

Hmm. Well I had a hydra facial here last year and it was great and relaxed. This time it was SO aggressive! also my esthetician (tien) told me to toothpaste on my zit to make it go down. I am a skin care aficionado and I have never in my life been told to put toothpaste on my face other than in my mouth. I even said that’s not a good idea it will burn your skin and she said no she does it to her own face. She was very very sweet but so much more aggressive than I remember it being last year and pretty uncomfortable. The results of the hydrafacial are beautiful of course, I just don’t know about the esti. Also extremely disappointed in their covid Safety procedures. No masks or shields unless requested. I am vaccinated as are they, however that doesn’t seem to matter with the new variant. Overall I recommend the service and the spot is convenient - they seem to have a high turnover in their staff and they could do more to be safer. 3.5 out of 5.

This has been my go-to place for years. Even the waiting room is super cozy and inviting. The tea (Good Earth Sweet & Spicy, FYI) is delicious, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Just about every time I've gone I'd had a different massage therapist and while I've preferred some over others, it's definitely a half dozen of one, 6 of the other. They've all been wonderful and well worth the reasonable fees they charge. I've had a few of the different services beyond massages, and everything has been world-class. You can't go wrong with this place. Tips: There's parking in the back for about 4-5 cars. It's never been full for me so far; so if you don't like street parking or it's full, that's an option.

I cannot recommend Zama enough. I booked a sports massage with Cory and it was the best massage of my life. I had been incredibly sore for over a week from hiking. After the massage, the pain was gone and I felt amazing! I will definitely be a repeat customer.

I leave this place feeling like a happy melted marshmallow. So far I have booked with Logan and Kenny. Both magic men with magic hands. I specifically like my massages deeep.. like you can't hurt me haha. I love that they both get those nasty knots from working in an office all day. Also, they have cupping! Side note - my friend said she thought the front desk person was rude which is why they won't go back but that person must be gone. The front desk people have always been super friendly to me. So if you have had that experience I recommend giving this spot another chance.

OMG This place is fabulous, the minute you walk in the door the atmosphere is warm and relaxing. The ladies at the front desk were very helpful and not pushy, I appreciate this. Every thing was very professional and immaculate. This was a very special treat for our daughter's birthday, we had an hour and a half massage in the salt room. I adore Zama, I have been going for quite awhile. I have always enjoyed my massage person, but when I found Sarah, I found my match! She is so attentive, and caring. She seems to always know exactly what I need!! I will continue to go for my monthly maintenance, as long as she is there!! I always feel refreshed, and renewed and relaxed after every visit. I was first introduced to Zama when I received a deep tissue massage as a birthday gift. It's been a few months since that original session, and I am now a regular monthly customer. The facilitates are clean, the atmosphere is soothing and relaxing, and the massage therapists (I've seen Stacy Jo and Brenda - both fantastic) are extremely attentive and responsive to individual needs. I have also added on the "cupping" procedure a few times which has been great for tension in my neck and shoulders. I highly recommend Zama Massage and am thankful to have a reputable and affordable option in Portland.

I used to live in the neighborhood and periodically went to Zama Massage, I have since moved away so it has been a couple of years since I last made it in. The new office is great (although some notice that they had moved would have been helpful when I had booked my appointment, I went to the old location and ended up late). I splurged and got my first ever 90 min massage and it was sooo worth it! Eric did a great job of making sure I was comfortable and addressing my concerns. I understand that therapeutic and deep massage (hurts so good!) is often necessary to feeling better and resolving issues but sometimes you want to just relax and be able to enjoy it. He did a wonderful job of finding the balance between the two. I left feeling wonderful. I've already been talking to friends and clients about going to see him. Thank you!

Underwhelmed following so many amazing reviews...I’m a believer in the power of good massage and have always gone for them wherever I’ve moved. For my husband’s birthday I booked a couples massage in the halo room. We arrived 15mins early to give time to do our details as requested and the tea whilst doing so was nice. However the therapists were a bit late showing and then took our details separately and led us to the room almost as though we weren’t together which felt kind of odd for a couples massage. By the time they had us on the bed it was nearly 10mins in to the massage. There was no intro to the halo room which was totally the reason I chose to come to Zama and when I asked they just pointed out the pipe sticking out of the wall. We had both described pain in the back and shoulders which we wanted tackled and I didn’t feel like that was the focal point of my massage. Whilst I had some relief it definitely was not to the extent my previous regular place used to give me. My therapist also kept talking during the massage making it hard to relax. Husband did enjoy his which I was pleased about. At the end there was also a bit of a sales pitch for the products they sell in their waiting room. All in all I felt it was expensive for what was basically a 50min massage in a room covered in salt tiles and did not deliver the premium experience I was expecting. Guess I will just have to keep on looking for my Portland massage spot Edit: after writing this review the owner reached out to me to ask me to try their services again. I appreciate that response and am not sure when we will have the chance to do so but will amend my review accordingly

Cory made me cry...tears of joy from the relief. Exceptionally skilled and intentional. In the past, I’ve had massage therapists who were not fully engaged - not Cory he is 110% there with you. Had a 90 Min Halo Massage this evening. He was so in tuned with where my physical pain was and addressed it perfectly. Impressive to understand the human body like that. Pandemic stress did a number on my head, neck and right shoulder. Had hip pain for YEARS and nobody has got in there like that. He’s very strong yet delicate and you feel safe to truly rest your head. I feel like a new human. I’m telling everybody about him. Best best best.

Once you walk in the people at Zama make you feel comfortable. I have had two massages there now and compared to the other places will only be going there for future massages. The receptionist is warm and welcoming making the start of your experience relaxing and stress free. I have told numerous friends about Zama and they all have came back with the same recommendation.

I've only been to Zama once, but it was terrific! I always have trouble trying to get a deep tissue massage that's actually deep enough to be effective, but this one was exactly what I needed! Felt great for a long time afterwards. Really enjoyed the calm feeling and tea served in the lobby while you wait. As a personal trainer, I've referred several of my clients there, and they reported good experiences as well.

My wife and I loved this place. The converted old home didn't look like much from the outside but the inside changed everything. The reception area was warm and inviting. Our massage therapists were friendly and professional. The room we went to for the side by side massage was so cool. The walls and ceiling looked like they were covered with rock, bit were lit from behind. It felt like being a warm, inviting cave. And the massage? Wow. Worth every penny!!

I started going to Zama over a year ago, and had never had any experiences with massages before. I started going due to general stiffness due to a life of long distance running and heavy lifting. I have worked with Megan for the entire year and have to say it has been a wonderful experience. Megan has been professional, friendly, committed and willing to really work with me with a variety of massage techniques to get to the root of the problem. First, this is not Charles - it's Judith (we share an e-mail). My husband gifted me with a trip to Zama for my 60th birthday. The experience was totally wonderful. From the relaxed atmosphere in the entry to the quite, well appointed room, the setting was peaceful. I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember the name of the therapist but she did an excellent job with the foot massage and followed up with strength on the deep tissue massage. She made suggestions for follow-up with my particular stress points. I also appreciated the low-key approach regarding the products they have for sale. They were offered but not pushed. I look forward to reliving the experience fer soon.

Today I took my boyfriend to Zama Massage for his birthday. We enjoyed a wonderful session in the Himalayan Salt room and then to a couples side by side massage. He added the warm cocoa butter and I added the cupping. We both felt relaxed and refreshed afterwards and felt that this experience was totally worth it. The large house was very charming, the complimentary tea was delicious and you really can feel a difference after breathing in the salt air. I highly recommend them for a special occasion or to just relax with someone special. We would love to visit again.

I have had nothing but fantastic experiences here. It's a warm and calming environment right when you walk in the door. I have been to Jen several times for facials and she is absolutely AMAZING! She makes my skin glow. Jen also provides an incredible massage along with the facials (many places don't). Both Jen and the staff there are very knowledgeable about the products, but they have never busy pushy in selling them. This Spa far outweighs any other that I have experienced in the the Portland area.

Went and had a couples massage today. The front desk are extremely sweet and quick to offer a drink. Cory and Patrick were amazing and really listened to what we wanted. The building is nice and quiet. Definitely will he going back and requesting those two. The only negative thing I can think of is the massage oil. Afterwards it smells like mildew towels and is difficult to get the smell off even after a shower. If I could suggest something to the owner it would be get scented oil. Other than that 5 stars!

I come here often with a friend for spa days. We usually get a deep tissue massage. We have also had facials and I’ve had my brows and lashes tinted and a manicure. Staff is nice and Its a convenient location. We’ve had mostly good service but once an MT almost really hurt me from improper pressure on my neck and spine. I got off the table and ended it immediately. That only happened once but it was scary!

The staff is always so kind and accommodating, and the atmosphere is relaxing and pleasant. Emily and Abby both do wonderful work, and respect your own skin's individual nuances while making great recommendations, without any attempts at up-selling or price gouging. They also stock incredible products that I'm happy to invest in to keep my skin glowy. I've recommended the facility to my friends, some of whom have taken my word on it and have reported back favorably. Love this place. All the massage therapists I've seen (which is now about 8) are so skilled. I've never left disappointed. They also always offer complimentary aromatherapy and incorporate hot towels as part of the massage session. It's also just a lovely space. Highly recommend.

I have been going to Zama for a couple of years now for massages and have never been let down (if you haven't tried Ashiatsu, you must! Samantha is wonderful and I always leave feeling refreshed and significantly less tense). I have also had many wonderful experiences with Jen (lead esthetician) for facials and brow waxes. Jen is so calm and kind and non-judgmental about untamed brows or less than perfect skin! The online booking system is great for scheduling appointments in the comfort of your own home. I would highly recommend Zama to anyone looking for an exceptional spa experience at competitive prices in a comfortable, clean space!

The décor is very soothing and I love how the Spa itself has been renovated to reflect the integrity of the building but with a modern look. I've been in twice. Once I received the package with pedi, facial and massage and I was impressed by all of the services. Next I went in for a deep tissue massage, performed by Rebecca. It was the Best! She worked wonders, targeting all of my areas that needed the most work. I could hardly walk before I went in. In less than two days after my massage I could finally move without as much pain. I don't feel like I am going to fall over and cry anymore. She also strongly suggested I see a chiropractor and come back asap if possible. I was a little startled by some of the suggeations she made about my therapeutic needs, but in the long run every suggestion was helpful and appropriate. I look forward to returning to Zama as often as possinle.

Ariel gave an amazing massage. I appreciated that she didn't try to talk to me. Had a couples massage and my partner was disappointed with her massage from Gabriel. Didn't use enough lotion and so it was dry and painful. Too much time jabbing her armpit and very poor technique in general. Gabriel was also pretty awkward and kept saying weird things like "if you don't like the pressure, just say 'pressure check'". Yes thank you Gabriel, we know how words work.

My skin was so healthy for weeks even following my facial and my brows were exactly how I had wanted them. Patsy did my mani pedi and was very professional, polite, and precise with all of her work! I feel kinda let down after getting the couples spa package here. We started with a foot/leg massage. This was nice. Mine was a bit painful- her thumbs were insanely strong and found every single sore spot on my shin. But I'm gonna guess that was a good thing? The boyfriend loved his. Next we headed to our "cocoa butter massage." We sat in an awkwardly small room on a tiny couch for 20 minutes before anyone came and got us. Our massages were wonderful. Both of the masseuses did a wonderful job. This was for sure the highlight of the whole thing. However, we didn't get the cocoa butter treatment. No warm, chocolate lotion and no relaxing sit in the copper room with chocolate and cider. Next we went back to the small, awkward room to sit in our robes for 15 minutes before our facials. I think maybe the form we filled out didn't go with us or wasn't seen by the people who did our facials. My boyfriend has never got one done before and had no idea what an "extraction" was. After I explained it to him he adamantly said he did not want that. Yet, his entire facial consisted of just extractions. He had no idea what was happening until it was too late. The poor guy now looks like his forehead was viciously attacked. My facial was just fine. She rubbed some pretty thick lotion into my hair, which I'm not thrilled with. At the end, I asked the receptionist about our massage and she knocked 10% off, which was nice. But for $500, I wish I left feeling "wow that awesome" rather than " I wish we had just got massages" It was good and I recommend them but..idk. Not $500 good.

I was referred to Zama by my chiropractor after a horrible car accident when I was 8 months pregnant. By the time my sessions were through, I had found the silver lining in that traumatic experience! Their hours are amazing, the studio quiet and LOW KEY. This is a place you go for a therapeutic massage - not the kind of place that does a wimpy job whilst playing chimes hoping that the music and fancy bathrobes distract you enough to not notice they aren't that great. PS. I should add that this studio is set up to handle any insurance related billing. I was so surprised at how easy that part was because I really expected a hassle.

My first visit to Zama was inspired by a Yelp search and great reviews found there. I was looking for a men's package, but their online schedule did not show a male masseuse during my 3-day say in Portland. Instead, I booked a la carte facial, pedicure, back wax. The therapist was "Iman," and she was wonderful. I could tell facials were her speciality -- the brief massage as a part of my facial was intuitive an focued on real stress points. Iman was very pleasant and conversational but not too talkative (which I sometimes find unwelcomed during spa treatments). I mentioned I was in town for the VegFest, and the front desk clerk offered me a free vegan salted caramel truffle. This was such a nice gesture that made my first impression very positive. I will be back to Zama!

I am so blown away by how amazing this place along with it’s beyond friendly & exceptional staff. I called a few months ago now to book a couples massage, needless to say the girl on the phone was an excellent upseller & I wound up adding in CBD + the Himalayan rocks treatment as well & it was worth every penny! I explained to the girl on the phone that my fiancé had graduated college & I was surprising him with a trip to Portland - she ensured she would make it special for us. Well, I certainly wasn’t expecting just how special they had went out of their way to make it for us! First of all, the salt caves were absolutely beautiful & it smelt so nice in there - truly a romantic setting & so worth the extra $. The therapists were so attentive to what caused my fiancé & I pain & they seemed to genuinely care about healing their patients. My fiancé SWEARS his therapist healed his wrist that he hurt nearly 2 years ago. He says it’s never felt better since he hurt it. After our amazing massages, they placed us in a private waiting area that was decorated very nicely & gave a calm vibe. They gave us each a glass of wine along with the most delicious salted chocolate truffles I ever had in my life! Just when I thought the service couldn’t get any better - they wrote my fiancé a congrats card on graduating college. Again, I’m so blown away by this. I had to tip the therapists an extra $20 each on top of what I was already planning on giving them cause the service was just so excellent. I wish I lived in Portland so I could come weekly! This place gave my fiancé & I am experience we’ll never forget & it will be incredibly hard to find another place that topped this one! Thank you so much to everyone at Zama! You guys rock!

She was also very knowledgeable about the Eminence product line and helped me develop a home-care routine for my skin. I also had the pleasure of having a service with another esthetician, Iman. A 60 minute pedicure was part of my Pain Away Package and Iman made my aches and pains disappear. She has a great personality and made my pedicure a relaxing and soothing experience. It was Friday afternoon, 4pm, and I was nearly out of work, but my back was killing me! I decided it was time for a massage. Honestly, I called about a dozen other places before calling Zama, and they all scoffed when I said I wanted to make a same-evening appointment, but not Zama. They booked me with a young man (I think his name was Seth? Something with an S...), and he gave me a phenomenal massage. I will say that, when I called, the receptionist was very very insistent that I had to try their "monthly special" which included magnetic cupping as part of the massage. I kept saying that I wasn't interested, but when she said it was actually less expensive than a regular massage (being the monthly special) I begrudgingly agreed to give it a shot. Even my masseuse seemed a little unsure about the magnetic cups, and, although I think on some level they helped loosen up my tight muscles, I honestly would've very much preferred just a regular massage. Either way, the massage was great, the price was good, and I can't wait to go back! (And hopefully their next monthly special will be something a bit more appealing!)

Jayce is amazing! I get a theraputic massage from them about every other week and it has really helped my neck. I had a 10lb box fall on my neck and shoulders last April and in the past month and a half, since I've started working with Jayce, I've finally seen huge improvements, have been experiencing much less chronic pain, and a great increase in recovery time when I do push my limits. My favorite room is the Himalayan salt. The entire room is encrusted in Himalayan salt crystals. It feels like a warm, dim, glow that surrounds you deep in your soul. I love it! I don't recommend the CBD massage unless you use CDB on a daily basis. This is a chemical that needs to be in your system for about two weeks as it builds up in your system.

I have been to Zama 4 times now; twice for their unbelievable swedish massage, and twice for a facial. Everyone who works there is patient and calm, each person radiates with this soothing aura, creating the most relaxing atmosphere. Their therapists are incredibly talented and really cater to you personally. Their facials, in particular, blew me away. I have received them at other spas in the past and have left feeling like they didn't quite do what my younger skin required, and sometimes have even hurt my skin. At zama, they absolutely personalize the facial for your skin type, your age, and they offer really helpful and useful advice. I have fallen asleep both times during my facials while they massage my neck, chest, arms, face, and head. It's unreal. Also, if it's your birthday, they throw in a free add-on which can be anything from a foot scrub to an anti-aging lip and eye serum. Zama is the best in Portland!

This place literally saved my lower back. I’ve been doing intense weight training all summer and doing hard hikes nearly every weekend for over 2 months for hikes that are coming up and last week I pulled a muscle in my lower back in addition to sever stiffness I’ve had in my hips for weeks now. I went and saw Kimberly for a 90 minute Swedish massage with the cupping add on, desperate for relief so that I can do the hikes I’ve been training all summer for (the hikes begin in two days!!!). Immediately after our session (it was yesterday) the pain in my lower back was almost completely gone. This morning I woke up, I have absolutely no pain and for the first time in weeks I bent over to pick something up and was easily able to stand up straight again (no stiffness!!!). I cannot tell you how amazing Kimberly and the Zama staff are. I can’t wait to come back when I move here in a few months. So upset. Booked a pkg for my husband as an early fathers day gift since I will be in labor before fathers day and spa emailed him reservation. Then when I called to say something they said they had his email when registering his name and that they would detach it . My boyfriend and I came here for the couples special massage. Overall, we had a fantastic massage by Ethan and Elexis, but there were few things that limit me from rating my experience a 5/5. Our appointment was at 8pm for a massage followed with champagne and truffles. We were not given robes and slippers to change into which I thought was kind of strange. After our massage ended (around 9:10pm), we changed back into our street clothes and were lead to another room to enjoy champagne and truffles which was a bit uncomfortable as I wore jeans into the appointment and it didn’t feel very relaxing. In addition, they were out of champagne so we were given wine. Because Zama massage closes at 9pm, we had about 10 minutes to eat our truffle (one each) and finish our wine before someone came up to let us know they were closed. For paying an additional fee I would have liked to have a bit more time, and I was looking forward to sitting in my robe and drinking champagne after our massage, neither of which happened. Overall a good experience but I felt a little let down after our massage ended. Also to note, they have no steam or sauna rooms which can make their prices a little expensive without the additional amenities.
