We had so much fun on a VERY cold night. Booking two back-to-back sessions was perfect for a group of four to catch up and have lots of time in the sauna/yurt. We even braved the pool at 32 degrees for a few moments. A unique experience - highly recommend!

We LOVED The Nordic Nook, such a cute little afternoon getaway oasis right here in Minneapolis (technically Golden Valley). 3 of my good friends and I rented the Nook for an hour on a Saturday and I will tell you we will definitely be back and will stay a little longer. The Nook has everything you could think of for the perfect afternoon of R&R, we enjoyed everything thoroughly, the only thing we could have wished for was a little more time with the huskies, but they looked pretty chill in their home under the deck. 10/10 would recommend.

Having just moved back to my True North from Alma, CO - America’s highest town- for the past 2 years i have been in the altitude. 11,000 ft of altitude recovery for carbon monoxide poisoning Recovering from CO poisoning with a solid regime of outdoor high altitude air still left my chest tight at sea level… Nordic Nook just fixed that tightness. ——Wellness//Body Work// MN spa//Breath Work // Mind Body Connection —- Finally, acclimated to this MN arctic. Thanks to the cold bath via a neighbourhood backyard pond. This yard is INCREDIBLE exactly like an alpine lake dip post hike…. Plus sauna! No sauna in the Mountains.. oh my, does the heat with cold dip do wonders!!!! The dip was 32 degrees and perfection! My body feels like 8 hands worked on it from 1 hour at The Nordic Nook Oasis! THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR HOME, SPACE, LAND WITH US. A splurge worth more than any other wellness service! Better than any cut and color or mani pedi day or facial or massage whatever wellness is your jam. Mix in a cold dip- YOUR BODY WILL THANK YOU!

Wonderful experience! I loved being greeted by 2 gorgeous and sweet huskies in the front yard! And the owner was out back putting wood into the fire and was so accommodating, welcoming, and passionate about this endeavor. It’s a sweet sanctuary in the city that makes you feel like you aren’t in the city! I loved the wood-fired yurt where you can relax and drink complimentary tea or hot cocoa. The sauna is awesome—you can pour water on the rocks to heat it up to your liking and there’s even a hour glass sand timer inside. The cold plunge pond is incredible. It was a very restorative experience and I am grateful for this hidden gem. I highly recommend 2 hours because an hour didn’t seem long enough!

Loved the experience. The space is ingeniously used and laid out. Clean. And just a fun activity. It is a little odd that it's in someone's backyard right next to other houses, but if you know that going in you won't be surprised! Enjoy!!

This was such an amazing experience and I am definitely coming back again. The host including the beautiful huskies were so kind and attentive. The sauna, ice bath, and yurt were completely clean and it truly was a relaxing time. Nine people in the sauna was a little tough but we definitely made it work and I would totally recommend this to anyone who wants a Nordic experience a little closer to home.

Such a wonderful experience from start to finish. Instructions beforehand made walking in feeling prepared easy and we were greeted with a welcome and tour. The yurt is a cozy place to set your things down and warm up by the real-fire heater. We headed into the sauna, which was so clean and keeps all the warmth in really well. I loved the bonfire outside as an option to sit around as well. I highly recommend trying the cool pond, even if you're not sure. I left feeling so calm and grounded afterward

I've visited the Nordic Nook twice now and each time it's been a fantastic time. We first went in December and most recently in September. In the winter, there's a cozy warming tent, while in the summer there's hammocks and an outdoor shower to use between sauna rounds. The space is beautiful and the hosts are always kind and accommodating. This is a great activity to plan when you have friends or family in town, to celebrate something, or just relaxing with friends. Highly recommend and will be back hopefully many more times!

Wow. Best thing ever!! So relaxing and beautiful. It was an hour of pure bliss. The whole property is so beautifully landscaped, there are twinkly lights everywhere with then the plunge area has the sound of moving water, which is so soothing. Nordic Nook is the perfect place to treat yourself to a healthy, restorative sauna experience, it’s a great way to enjoy Minnesota winters in a whole new way and a great activity for friends to experience together. I loved my first visit to the Nordic Nook 1/30/23, so relaxing in the sauna and even though I wasn't brave enough to make the plunge, I very much enjoyed the ambience/quaint atmosphere, fire. (beautiful dogs by the way, one said "hi" thru the window, another came out to say "hi"). I booked another visit for end of February as a treat to ME and hopefully I will work up enough nerve to take the plunge. Thanks for the awesome in the cities experience. Kim

We had a great time. Nordic Nook has thought of everything. We booked 2 sessions back to back for 4 people so we had 2 1/2 hours which was perfect to grill, and eat and have a lot of sauna and plunge time. Owners were incredibly kind and helpful. Will be back for sure!

I was in Minneapolis working so me and coworker reserved the space. We booked 2 appointments back to back so had 2.5 hours to enjoy it. So grateful we did because an hour would have left us wanting more! I absolutely loved cycling back and forth from the hot to the cold. We left feeling so relaxed and honestly wished we would have known about the space sooner. We agreed that the next time we would like to grill and even would reserve it for longer with a couple more people. We didn’t want to leave.

An incredible and immersive Sauna experience in the most relaxing urban setting! Craig and his family are very kind and they have gone above and beyond to accommodate their guests for a truly relaxing getaway right in the city. What a perfect place to relax after a long day of family fun at Theodore Wirth park. They have truly thought of everything: outdoor shower, changing room, immersion pond, fire pit, screened in porch and the perfect Sauna! We will absolutely be back in the near future.

It's truly amazing what can be done in a small space. This is a perfect experience. We lucked out and has a 30+ degree day in January so this made the experience even more pleasant. I wish we had booked more time but we just had so much fun hanging in the sauna and jumping in the water. We didn't get to spend any quality time in the yurt or other spaces. Well worth the price and will definitely be back.

Such a wonderful experience. I was worried about how cold and windy it was outside and maybe being uncomfortable. Not a problem! The Yurt was toasty warm. The sauna was a dream! Even did the plunge pool at 5 degrees outside (pool was warmer) everything was very clean, had a visit for a lovely pup, hosts were nice. It was an awesome adventure. Highly Recommend

We had a group of 10 rent the space for an evening and everyone had the most wonderful time! The yurt was heated when we arrived, the fire was burning, and the sauna was fully ready. The host greeted us upon arrival and then left us uninterrupted (though he was available through a service bell), and he quietly ensured the fires were stoked throughout our stay. It was such a unique experience at a great price, and it was wonderful to comfortably spend some time outdoors during the cold Minnesota winter. I hope to go back in the summer, and I highly recommend anyone interested to check it out! Thanks, Nordic Nook!

We had a fabulous experience at the Nordic Nook. All of the accommodations were beautiful and we thought of! The sauna was the perfect for our group of 3, and we could have had a few more friends in there. It was a great temp, and so relaxing. The dip pool right outside was perfect, and the warm yurt was a wonderful perk for before and after! If you can get to the Nordic Nook, I highly recommend it.

We had fun at The Nordic Nook! The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and it was fun to meet the pups. The only thing was that it looked like some mice had gotten into the hot cocoa, but other than that it was clean and comfy. We hope to come back and enjoy it with friends sometime!

Unbelievable experience! I came with my sister to do a joint birthday and it was such a fun time. The water was 44 degrees and the sauna was HOT. It took some bravery to do the dip but it was so refreshing! Everything we could have asked for was provided and the small details were so sweet. These people really put something special together. I recommend to anyone looking for a unique date night, birthday, celebration, recharge, really anything.

What an amazing hidden hideaway just outside of the Minneapolis bustle!! Brought my sister and her friend( who is Very Norwegian) and fiancée, and we had a blast, couldn’t believe the time went so fast. The set up was beautifully simple and tidy and we had no issues whatsoever. The dogs were amazing companions, just chilling until we asked them to hang out. We had such an amazing experience and definitely will be back time and time again. Thanks Nordic Nook for making such a neat environment for us to hang! PS- I left a towel there and Craig hand delivered it to me at my workplace…top notch customer service!

This experience was so fun! Every detail at Nordic Nook is thoughtful. I came with a group of six over dinner time, so we ordered a pizza and brought a bunch of snacks that we kept on the porch table while we went back and forth from the sauna to the heated (very warm!) yurt and dipped into the pond (very cold!) . There was a fire for keeping warm and making s'mores (which we didn't do and I really regretted), a sound system that reached everywhere, fun lighting... the whole thing was a real treat. I will definitely come again!

Amazing find! Can’t believe how much fun and ambience these guys have packed into their backyard space. The sauna is so cool (and hot!) and the little pond is refreshing after you heat up in the sauna. Went back and forth between the two several times and felt great afterwards. So invigorating and relaxing. Love all the little signs and details they’ve included, not to mention the ingenious bathroom! Definitely a unique experience and one that I’ll be doing again!

Awesome time! Recommend! There are two essentials for any good time 1. People 2. Setting The Nordic Nook brings the setting of a good time to a whole new level. Beautiful backyard, wood-fired barrel sauna, and a small pool to cool off from the sauna. I went on a date. We started out on the screened deck, talking and playing cards over some eats and drinks that we brought. Then moved over to the sauna and cool plunge going between the two and loving it all. Definitely recommend for a date (she and I both had a great time) and I see myself going again with more folks.

It was one of my favorite moments here in Minneapolis, this is a unique experience everyone must do! Plunge in the cold water and then relax in the sauna as all your pains go away. Not only that, but there are two cute doggies hanging out for free pets! The host are attentive and accommodating, overall I recommend it a 100%. My friends and I love every moment from the music to the cold and then hot moments, to the doggies and hot cocoa… it was all amazing!

This was my first wood fire sauna experience and it was really fantastic! What a great retreat. I was even brave enough to plunge into the pool when the water was just overing above freezing and I didn't hate it! Be sure to make plans for a cozy meal afterwards!

The Nordic Nook Oasis is a must try experience. A perfect place to relax and refresh with loved ones. Such an inviting atmosphere, indicative of Craig’s care for his guests and appreciation of the sauna experience. The sauna is hot and well stoked. Cool off in the pond, sit by the fire or hang out in the heated yurt. You may actually wish for cold weather when you have the Nordic Nook to enjoy it with. It is definitely the way to add some joy to your winter.

Wow, where do I start? From the authentic North Woods atmosphere to the convenient centrally located address, right down to the sled dogs, The Nook is the perfect place to recharge your batteries or to live it up and drain those batteries! The owners have created a charming spa experience right in their own backyard that rivals anything you’d find at a 5 star hotel. Oh I almost forgot about the most important thing! The sauna and pond. Nothing can beat the thrill of going from the heat of the sauna into the chill of the pond. Totally invigorating! You gotta check this place out, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

What a fantastic find! This urban oasis has thought of everything for a fun family adventure! Our kids played in the hammocks, built towers with blocks, danced to music, and shot some hoops while the adults relaxed in the sauna and cooled off in the pond, refreshed and ready for roasting s’mores over the fire. First timer—but won’t be the last. So fun. A great little oasis in the city. Cannot wait to return! Only suggestion is to work on the hot water situation for tea/cocoa. Either posting a sign by the drink packets to tell guests to put the kettle on before they hit the sauna, or maybe even having a rapid electric kettle available. Thank you!
