Just wanted to chill after hassling with the downtown parking meter. One way to rezone is with a relaxing hydra facial. The new location of the East Village Spa is roomy enough to meet your rejuvenation zen.This upscale opulent treatment gives you a moment to recharge and relax. The quarters are spacious with a plethora of high end facial products with extended sections to meet most of your preferred health options. My thanks to Cass, a 16 year aesthetician, who did a superb job!

My first experience at East village spa was amazing. the staff at front desk were pleasant and inviting. Space was clean and fresh smells heavenly The space for facial treatment was clean and I was asked what kind of treatment I was looking for and what were my concerns. The facial was too good and also the therapist was amazing. I am going back next week for my body scrub and will continue updating my review Till then kudos ❤️

I chose the 60 minute EV signature massage. My therapist Holly was excellent. My very first massage experience went perfectly. I felt valued from check in and Holly made me feel comfortable from the moment she greeted me. The room and equipment were clean, music and sounds helped me relax and the products used smelled nice and light. Loved the hot stones. I would book again.

What a FANTASTIC experience!! Even before I walked through the door, I could see the receptionists were smiling. I felt welcome before even entering the spa. When I did enter, I was met with a very pleasant & cheery, "hello!" After checking in, I was immediately offered a choice of beverages while I waited. The peach tea was out of this world! My massage hadn't even started but I was already feeling relaxed and content. Amazing! After a very short wait, I was led back to the massage room by my masseuse, Paige. She was kind, caring, and welcoming from the moment that we met at the waiting room. I instantly felt welcomed and knew that I was in for a real special experience. Spoiler Alert... It WAS! I've worked construction my whole life. I am now working as a large machine mechanic. I spend everyday using ladders, kneeling on steel, crawling on concrete, climbing over machinery, climbing under machinery, etc. etc. etc. Sore muscles are just part of the job. Paige found every knotted, sore, bruised, strained, and stretched muscle. She soothed them all! I was amazed! She's fantastic! East Village Spa is amazing! The whole experience was just incredible! Thank you!

I had recently moved back to IA after living in AZ for 8 years and needed to find a new spa. This is the place to go if you are looking for a relaxing time. I got the signature massage which included hot stones, hot towels, and either a cooling mask or sugar scrub on your back. My therapist applied medium pressure so the stones did not hurt. I would highly recommend East Village Spa to everyone.

I had been looking for a massage therapist with decent pressure for quite some time and I finally found someone I plan on going to regularly! He started off firm and it was absolutely firm pressure, had to have him back off just a little but it's great to know that there is more in the tank if ever needed! Justin gave me after care tips/pointers, for someone new in the massage world, this is necessary! Thank you so much! Overall experience: Walking it, it's a very friendly environment! I didn't feel out of place what so ever being a plus size woman wearing sports attire, lol! Staff was friendly and offered hot/cold drinks. Also the organic chocolate that they sell was delicious!

Always a wonderful experience. I see Holly pretty often for targeted massages and she always remembers what we did previously and adapts her massages to target what I need. The reception staff are super welcoming and the new location keeps the relaxing atmosphere (honestly I think the new location is even better!). Definitely recommend.

My wife and I did a couples massage at EV Spa and the massage therapists were incredible. They found every muscle that needed work and got us loose and relaxed. The whole experience - from scheduling, to check-in, to the massage itself, and even the education about different muscles - was great and I would recommend this for other couples (or if you just want to treat yourself).

She was so good, and gt me so relaxed that I almost felt asleep 😅 I highly recommend this place for a little R&R.

I recently switched massage therapists as mine was further away from home than I preferred and I wasn’t getting the relief I was looking for even with direct communication. I’ve had 3 massages with Klay and I cannot recommend him enough. He listens to what I say and works exactly what I need. I have had chronic back pain for years and finally can target the correct muscles to feel relief in between visits. I’ve been in pain for SO long and he’s already brought me miles of relief in a short time. I have referred my wife to EV spa and look forward to using their services for a long time. The front desk is always helpful and calming. Everything is clean and smells great. The massage rooms are the perfect temperature and ambient lighting and music. The chocolate offered on the way out is an extra bonus on top.

My husband was trying to get us scheduled for a couples massage for my birthday in November but they were booked out until January. He was offered to be placed on a cancelation list. They called him within a couple of weeks to offer an opening and he took it. He had us scheduled for a couples massage. As I walked in, the staff greeted my husband and I. Within minutes after checking in, we were called back. This was my first time getting a message and I had the pregnancy massage. Kirstie was my massage therapist and she asked if there were any areas she needed to focus more. My problem areas were my neck, shoulders, lower back, & hip. She informed me of what I would expect in the massage and that helped me be more at ease. Kirstie did a amazing job! I felt relieved and satisfied with my overall experience after checking out. I do hope to go back.

I love this place! I've been going here for the last three+ years and will not get a massage or wax anywhere else. The staff is courteous and professional. They know a lot about the products they are using which makes me feel very comfortable. The spa is clean and atmosphere is relaxing. Another big plus is the online booking! It's pretty easy to book a service and you can do it at any time. They will send a text or email before your appointment to confirm. I would recommend this spa to family, friends, whoever! There's also convenient parking!

I went here to get a facial and it was one of the best experiences I have had. Blaire was amazing, professional and explained everything to me when it came to products and the services she was going to provide. I have sensitive skin and all of the products used on me didn’t irritate my skin at all. I definitely recommend this spa for anyone who is new to getting facials or wants somewhere new!

I booked a massage for today and it was great. My therapist Kirstie was very accommodating and made me feel comfortable. She found spots I didn’t even know were sore or needed attention. It was truly a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this place. I was nervous when I booked that the mask policy would get in the way of me being able to relax, but it didn’t. It was a nice and relaxing afternoon.

Very clean and calming. Would have found a welcome call helpful before my first visit. I was late because parking is behind the building. Also needed to arrive early to do paperwork and didn't allow for that so my massage time was reduced. The massage was very good and she responded to my preferences.

My massage therapist, Hannah, always does amazing work and listens to my needs and feedback. After our sessions, she also recommends stretches I can perform at home to ease my muscle pain. The front desk staff recognizes me by name, and I always feel welcome and calm when I step inside. The spa is dedicated to keeping an accepting, clean, and calming space.

My wife and I came here right before our wedding and we couldn't be more pleased. We actually arrived 15 minutes late and they still were still super kind and professional. Not only that, but they were incredibly LGBTQ+ friendly and have the most amazing chocolate!! Can't wait to go back when we visit Iowa again and highly recommend Trevor and Anna!

I got the couple's suite for my husband's bday, he is a veteran and has chronic back pain, so he had the targeted massage, and I'm 8months pregnant so I had the pampering pregnancy massage. Best, most professional spa in Des Moines. I usually see Jennifer for my massages but have come to know a lot of the staff personally. They are incredible, friendly, inviting and professional. Jenn is amazing at what she does. Truly a natural. I am a hairstylist and an aerialist which means I’m very achy and tight but Jenn is very knowledgeable on what specific areas and muscles to work. She is sweet and caring and is always listening. She is very thorough during our consultations. Cassie, the owner of the spa, has background in massage. I’ve been told by many of her employees that she is a great person to work for and takes care of her team very well. All around an amazing small business with an upscale feel. If you are from Des Moines or just passing through, I would absolutely recommend scheduling an appointment!

I was completely blown away by the professionalism and kindness of everyone! The atmosphere is comforting, facilities are clean, and best of all, the staff is so sweet and inviting. Pricing is perfect and affordable, too! Hannah was my massage therapist today. She communicated well, did an outstanding job, and was just so awesome! I scheduled my next appointment before I left! I don't typically write reviews, but East Village Spa really impressed me. Today was my first visit to East Village Spa, having received a massage as gift from my husband. I'm lucky to be able to get massages regularly, mostly at boutique spas and luxury resorts, and I truly think my therapist, Trevor Grefe, gave me one of the best massages I've ever had in my life. The spa is clean, and well equipped with delightful, professional staff. I will be returning regularly to Trevor, and couldn't recommend him or the East Village Spa highly enough!

As a professional cellist and Pilates person, I build up a significant Amount of muscular tension weekly. I have been seeing massage therapist Conny once a week for about 2 years now, and can attest to the fact ( due to many many years of massage with many massage therapists ) that she is the best masseuse that I have ever used. I leave every week feeling Rejuvenated! She is a thorough going professional and the salon is observing all the state and city Mandated protocols so I feel safe in being in their spa. I strongly recommend the experience provided by this excellent Spa.

I was scheduled a targeted massage by my partner. I had not had a targeted massage previously. This was a massage very specific to what I needed to feel better and holy cow did it work! I will have to return for another because the damage done was years ago and there were parts of the massage that were very painful. I asked a close friend who used to work with me downtown if she could recommend someone or somewhere close by where I could grab a convenient as well as great massage. She immediately recommended East Village Spa and said she had received many massages from the various therapist who work there. So, I made my first appointment a few weeks ago due to severe tightness in my neck and back. My therapist, Connie, has now been working with me for a few weeks and her work has helped tremendously. She really understands the issues and how to help my muscles relax. Very professional work not to mention the staff at the front desk who readily assist you with adjustments to appointments cheerfully. Honestly, this place should receive a 6th star.

I've been twice now and the experience has been wonderful and professional from start to finish. During check-in I was offered a beverage and they kindly took my coat and hung it up. I have had the R&R massage both times, and it is worth every penny. Camdine is who I've booked both appointments with and I could rave about her all day! She takes the time to explain things, asks if I have any questions/concerns, and is all around kind. I purchased some essential oil roller sticks that I keep in my desk at work and they're a great go-to when I need a little pick me up during the day.

Justin did a great job with my massage! It was the best one I have received. He applied the perfect amount of pressure and made sure and checked with me often to see that I was doing well with it. He found spots that I didn't even realize were sore. It helped me immensely with stiffness and aches I have been dealing with in my neck and back. Karen is fantastic. She makes sure I’m comfortable and does consistently amazing work on my back and shoulders. I had a shoulder injury that took several days and pain killers last year. Had a similar injury recently, mentioned it to Karen, and there was a huge improvement in recovery this time- without pain killers! I’ve hopped around for several years looking for a great place and person. I’ve definitely found that at East Village Spa and with Karen. Plus- making online appointments are a big bonus.

I moved to Des Moines almost two years ago. Trying to find a new massage therapist who would provide consistent care was very challenging. I have been a long time fan of a 90 minute deep tissue or sports therapy massage for many years now. Often I find that therapists' services start out great but become inconsistent over time. I was thrilled to find Justin at the East Village Spa, which offers a number of therapists and services at a fair competitive price. Justin is a client's dream when it comes to finding a therapist who has a great intuitive awareness and understands basic body mechanics, especially for someone who is extremely physically active and truly needs therapeutic massages. The East Village Spa has a simple but clean environment. I have visited many spas where I felt like I was paying for the fancy spa atmosphere, at the East Village Spa I know I'm paying for the quality of the services.

I love the EV Day Spa. It’s been my go to spot for pedicures, massage, and reflexology since I first walked into their original location in 2009. It’s both the people and the services that keep me coming back. Kelly and Molly at the front desk are always so friendly and helpful. Cyerra is my go to pedicure person. She does a beautiful job, gives a great foot/leg massage, and is a lot of fun. Jamie is my person for blissful foot reflexology/therapeutic massage. I always leave each session smarter because she is very knowledgeable about holistic approaches, so I’m always asking questions. Justin does fantastic massage, incorporating great stretches to really help alleviate stress and discomfort. Cassie, the owner, is fantastic, and really looks at customers as people. In fact, when my cat recently passed away, knowing what a huge animal lover I am, Cassie and the staff members made a donation to the ARL in my name and sent the loveliest card. That kind of thoughtfulness is not something you find everywhere, and it meant a lot to me. I highly recommend EV Day Spa!

This was my first time getting a facial and the service was excellent. Lindsay was my aesthetician and she was amazing, she walked me through the whole process made me feel so relaxed and at ease. I even bought some of the Rhonda Allison products that she used on my face and they were at such an affordable price I was shocked To see a spa that carried drugstore prices. I see Lindsey once a month for a hydrafacial and she treats me so well, gives recommendations for my skin in between visits and is overall just amazing! If you're going to do the hydrafacials go all in and buy/use the products in between visits and all. Once I started doing that my results were unbelievable and I couldn't be happier! Once I've gotten to where I want to be with my treatments I will post the process pictures we've been taking every visit to show my results. I've recommended 3 of my friends to go here and they've all had great experiences as well and plan to return regularly. I love East Village Spa!!

I had an appointment today with Jamee for cupping therapy. She incorporated other massage techniques during the session for a unique and personalized experience, and gave extra attention to areas that were troubling me. The rooms were warm, clean, and nicely furnished. This establishment is not one of those places that makes you wonder if it isn't a massage parlor facade with a human trafficking underbelly, so that's a plus. The other staff members I encountered were professional and very friendly. There was also a nice selection of products available in the front reception area. I got complimentary chocolate before I left and walked out feeling better than when I walked in. All in all a pleasant experience.

East Village Spa has always been the best spa in the area by far, and now their new location makes them even better. They offer so many services, and though I have only had three of these services, I eventually want to experience everything they offer. The hot stone massage is absolutely heavenly....soooo relaxing physically and mentally. The same is true of the facials they offer. I had a shellac pedicure almost a month ago and the polish still looks good!

This spa is run by phenomenal people, and the service is second to none. I recently saw Lindsay for a facial, and it exceeded all of my expectations! Their environment is warm and inviting, and they also offer great products. I will never go anywhere else.

This was the best massage I’ve ever had! I was welcomed with a kind smiling face & offered a delicious peach drink. I was brought into my room early and was made comfortable right away with my MT Jamee. She asked about my trouble spots and customized the massage to my needs. She used stretching and acupressure to help with my cronic pain from sciatica. I’ve had many massages before and never had an experience like this. I would come here every week if I could. The pricing was also very affordable for 80 mins. Lastly they offered me chocolate at the end of my session! 5 stars all around!

I treated myself to a hydrafacial at the beginning of the new year. I absolutely loved it. My esthetician was very friendly and made me feel comfortable the minute I met her. Afterwards my skin felt dewy and super soft. She chatted with me about some of the products she used during my facial. I ended up buying a cleanser and moisturizer which I love and plan on purchasing more of. I enjoyed my facial so much I booked to have another facial in a couple of months. Oh and did I mention the herbal tea they offer you when you check is? It's awesome.

I loved this spa. I had been looking for a place for about a week. I am in town for work, and needed to relax. After looking at their reviews, I decided to book an appointment for a mani/pedi. The receptionists are very polite. As soon as you walk in, they greet you and offer water or tea. I only had to wait a couple of minutes before heading back to the nail room. The spa smells amazing! And the music they play is so relaxing. Desiree was my provider. She was amazing! She did a wonderful job on my nails, and my pedi was amazing. She was so polite and respectful. I would definitely recommend friends and family to this spa. It was such an amazing experience that I’m seriously thinking about making the 2+ hour drive to come back next month.

Just got back from a great treatment with Alison and wanted to share with everyone some of the things that made it so great. I went in for a 2 feet deep 60 minute massage. What she did especially well; *she knows what her feet are doing and how it affects her client *she has good balance on the table and this results in smooth precise movements, no one likes a clumsy therapist especially when using a powerful tool like a foot *98% of the treatment was with her feet, you get what is in the massage description *she effectively worked the IT band and anterior section of my lower leg with her feet, that was a first for me! I am always looking to find folks who are the best at what they do, not because they are being paid to do it but because they want to be the best. It is my opinion that Alison wants to be the best at this and it shows in her treatment.

I've recently been through the most stressful six months of my life, and the tension to prove it. I've also had problems with my shoulder and neck off and on for the past couple of years. Last May, Justin was able to get me a few pain free months, so I decided to set another appointment last week. After asking if I had places that needed work on, he gave a great overall massage, plus he was able to work out my shoulder. A week later, and my shoulder is still painfree. Since I live in the 'burbs, the East Village is a bit of a drive, but worth every mile and extra minute spent in the car.

I've been seeing her to address a two-month old AC joint separation as well as some pain-inducing trap recruitment issues in my other shoulder; she hits all the right spots and is super astute when it comes to the amount of pressure she uses. The front desk girls are always super inviting and efficient, and the environment at the spa definitely promotes relaxation. Don't let scar tissue jack up your mobility, people. Get it massaged out!! Got the full leg waxing as well as the bikini wax. For some reason I broke out in welts afterward. I'm not sure if it was the antibacterial stuff or the tea tree cream they used, but I did not have that issue with Waxing the City last time (this is only my 2nd time waxing) and I applied a complimentary scented oil after their session. I also have noticed that my hairs seem to be rougher (prickly) that the first time as well. Their establishment is nice and relaxing.
